Geist climbs off the stider and slaps the clone piloting on the back, "thanks man, I owe ya." Any potential response from the oddly helmeted pilot is drowned out by the bombers as they drop their payloads on the advancing swarm.

As he walks over to the rest of Alpha, the frequency of the strikes slows, the occasional bombing enough to hold back the xenoforms for now.

"All this house needs is ten to twenty basement levels and it'll almost be just like home... well, aside from the xeno army surrounding us."

Blaze slowed as he reached the premises of the structure, still at ground level, some distance from the stairs that led to the roof. He looked back as the airstrikes kept the xeno swarm at bay. He stopped, pumping his fist a few times, itching for a fight. He didn't much care for defensive actions, but he knew this was the most sensible thing considering the situation. It'd be foolish to try to take the fight to the enemy when they out massed them to this extent.

If the xenos attacked in force, anyone on the less defensible ground level would be quickly overwhelmed. He kept moving, making his way towards the structure. They only needed to hold out long enough to thin the enemy out. Then they could strike at the xenos where they lived and bred.

"Well that's one way to start the morning," Warsaw said with a laugh. Exhausted from his run, he collapsed by the stairs. The thought that the only thing between him and death was the near constant air-strikes didn't bother him at all. Instead he just turned the volume on his headphones up. After a few moments Warsaw pushed himself back to his feet. "Alright Grey get over here so I can stop your organs from trying to fall out."

Grey let out a groan as he was pulled up by the knight.

This was depressing. He spent the preliminary phase of the invasion literally sitting on his ass doing nothing and tying up his squad. Not exactly the best way to start your career, well, if being a clone trooper can be considered a career anyway.

Its graceful descent was halted as a giant pincer snatched the book in an explosion of torn paper. A second Roach fought the first for the tiny morsel, them trading snaps and scratches until Wuthering Heights sated the second one. Book after book was tossed into the milling mass of xenos below the walls of the fortified house.

REGS !

"Regular Soldiers or Regs - require very little time investment from ODF proper- since the call to war is loud and urgent civilians can literally be called from the streets to strip down, get their standard uniforms on, and grab a gun from a supply crate.

A reserve platoon of Regs can be called down from orbital at 3 points a platoon, or a supply crate can be called down for one which can supply and prepare civilians on site indefinitely.


Regs are a great way to get proper entry into ODF marines- once a reg has done a year of field service- they can choose to join the ranks of the basic marine proper.

Furthermore, since Regs have no connection to psicomm or have minimal knowledge of the chain of command they are rarely playable unless an ODF Liaison is attached to the group. Barring that, Regs can be "botted" by any marine to Follow , Formation, Attack , or Post and will defer authority to the closest soldier.

Follow will call the squad to make their way to you within their power. If the destination is too far they can sprint for only 2 additional hexes.

They will follow you indefinitely in the formation you give. And attack if able.
Post will allow Regs to stake out within a certain point and not move from the spot.
As they are on constant overwatch once posted they will attack anything that gets within their range.
or attack when ordered to if a leader is close by.

Since regs are hardly effective on their own.

Whole platoons of 3 squads can be formed. Using their designation in succession to their platoon number.

C1-[sss] would indicate 3 squads of shooters
C2-[gsg] would be a mix force of 2 shooters and 1 gauss gunners
C3-[dod] would be a heavy weapons platoon of dual-canister gunners supported by a mortar team.
C4-[dog] is just silly. ha. ha. ha.
