    >The following occurs during the week-long coma in which Cpl. Found and Domino were unreachable by medical or psionic means.

The wind howled through the arctic tundra, over deep glacial crevasses that sent up shrill screams and ice shard spires that hummed in the constant gale. Wind carried with it featherweight pellets of ice, complex crystalline spheres that were more empty space then ice, yet strong enough to survive the cyclone strength winds that would keep it aloft for years, if not decades. The sun had set, the world a dark blue sinking into umbral, and if it weren’t for the ever-constant flurry, one would be able to hear as everything that had softened in the sunlight started to crack and refreeze.

The wind howled and soared through the landscape, twisting around a feature that had not been there before. The pellets made a pinging noise as they exhausted their existence pelting the side of the structure that was harder then snow or ice. Ice crowded the blinking lights on the topmost spire, constantly melting and removing, slowly but surely trapping the light away. The windows and portholes had frosted over long ago, and if the inside of the station was any warmer, it was still inhospitable.

Snowdrifts piled up in corners and hoarfrost streaked across displays and the harsh and infrequent artificial lighting. It was a finer snow that moved wrath-like in these halls, a snow perfect for forts and snowmen and snowball fights. Towards the center of the large structure, which creaks and groans like a pre-war submarine, the bulkheads start to lose cohesion. Metal and plastic twists and melts and seeps into the snow-covered floor, and strange and impossible things fill the clearing that forms in the center.

A night sky hangs above, piercing the ceiling without passing through the bulkheads that must hang above it. Unlike the night sky outside, in which aberrant bodies stained with eldritch illumination drifted their cries being drowned out by the wind, this sky was clear and calm and filled with only stars and planets. In the clearing stood trees; not real trees of pine or spruce, but drawings of trees, simple and crude as those of a child who has only seen them in books or videos. Two dimensional, they seemed to always turn towards the viewer. If you stood in the center of the clearing, they would surround you like green crayoned spectators. You also would be standing in place of the house.

It was made of uniform logs of wood, notched at either end, and planed into hexagons lengthwise. A pre-war specialist or antique collector might realize they were lincoln logs. The glass-paned windows were covered in frost, but a warm light poured out into the dark snow outside and smoke came paradoxically out of the top of a solid block of wood painted red, attached to the roof of the house. Inside was a very different story.

The interior had been crafted with painstaking detail. The walls were fine-hewed oak that had been stained to bring out the grain. Carvings detailed the mantle above the river stone fireplace with a roaring fire in it, and pictures and drawings of landscapes and wildlife dotted the walls. Thick carpets of bright colors layered the floor, and chairs and stacks of games littered the room. However none of the boxes were open and the two occupants of the cabin sat across from each other.

Found was wearing the dress uniform of grey, sitting with her legs curled back behind her. A predatory smile raised a corner of her lips, and firelight gleamed off her spectacles. Domino sat cross-legged, his blankets pulled over his head to form a tent with only a tuft of white hair and the antenna sticking out the front. His pale face held picturesque apprehension, and his hands wiped sweat onto his knees. His feeler quivered as Found’s mouth opened.

    “Truth… or dare?”

Domino blinked. His eye traced the polished wood floor and found himself sitting across big sister on the reflection. He was a hunched fellow as she towered over him at sitting height. Her eyes were half lidded as she took a sip of something warm from cup. Domino looked down, his was already empty for quite sometime. Truth or dare. His sixth brother died that way. He died from Truth. Barring that, Domino steeled himself and let the mist seep out of his mouth as he said it...

    "Truth."

Found cocked her head to one side, her bun quivering behind her head as she studied the boy. He was just a serious child. “What is your happiest memory?”

He blinked again. And looked up. He looked way up as his mind searched for the memory. It was a mix of emotions, his past. But one thing stood out clearly in his mind. He had long hair once and one time his sister saw something in the vidlogs. An animated feature of a sort and they watched it together. In the story, there were princesses, knights, dragons, witches apples and lots of people he had never seen before. In one of the parts there was a song, he was entrapped by the sound it made- the clicking and chittering that his siblings opted to when they expressed niceties was a small chirp compared to this song. It was then that there was a pull behind his head. It was Checkers, her nose had tapped the back of his head as her hands worked strange movements behind his head. His hair was being braided as she recited the song on the vid file. When the scientists asked how his hair turned like that- Domino had mentioned the video- it was from the net. Shaking their head they barred all access from the computers. They weren’t supposed to go outside like that- and wondered how they’d done so in the first place.

The next day the terminals in the common room were taken away, Domino's hair was cut.

He didn't know who it was. But Checkers didn't say a word to him that whole day.

"My happiest memory was- when my sister tied my hair."

The very words struck images into Found's mind. The undertones never seemed more vivid.

    "Truth or Dare?" He asks.

Found tapped a finger to her mouth as in thought. Mentally she blinked, still thrown off by the strength of their empathic connection. It was so raw and primal, so vivid. She remembered, in the childhood that had belonged to the stranger in her memories, playing this game with other children. It was an embarrassing game, often filled with laughter and taunts of those who would not reveal truths or balked at dares. The boy in front of her was so solemn. She knew she tried to keep a mask of solemnity herself, but all the child’s memories were so full of loss and pain and sadness that they had been dulled to the point of normalcy for him.

Still, she was enjoying herself. Her eyes danced. “Dare.”

"L- Let me drink from your cup...please?" He asked. There was a good half left. But it never seemed to run out. And it taunted him.

Found raised an eyebrow at his dare. Had he really played this game before?

“Are you sure? You’ll get my cooties,” she said in a playful tone, swirling the cup for emphasis.

"Cooties? Are those like head germs?" There was some legitimate color of concern painted all over his face.

“You’ve never heard of cooties?” she said in mock severity. “It’s a very dangerous disease that boys can get from girls by drinking their cups or eating something they have taken a bit from. But it’s okay, I can immunize you if you really want my drink.”

Found scooted across the carpet so she was right next to Domino. “If you’ll just extend your arm…”

With both arms he hooked his hands around it much like mantisoid preying on a bus would. Fingers twitched as his fingers wrapped around the top rim of the cop and he took greedy gulps of the warm stuff. At first it didn't seem like it would run out but soon it had to hit some point and he belched out another puff of fog. Which he covered swiftly with his hands. A blush across his face and smoke rising from under the blankets as he registered the warmth travel through his body.

    "Th-thanks," he hiccupped.

He wasn't playing to win- He simply was just enjoying himself.

“Uh oh, you didn’t let me immunize you before you took a drink…” Found said, adopting a look of condolence on her face. Then she brightened. “Thankfully, it also works as a cure.

Taking a forearm in her hand, she started to trace symbols on Domino’s pale flesh as she recited in a sing song voice:

“Circle, circle. Dot, dot. Now you have a cootie shot.”
“Circle, circle. Fire, fire. Now your shot will never expire.”

Releasing him, Found slid back across the carpeting with a smile. She put the cup that she had taken from Domino’s side to her lips and sipped at the liquid that was suddenly there.

    “Okay. Truth or dare?”

    “Mmm, D-Dare.”

At the moment she had been waiting for, she hesitated. She had wanted this, had been waiting for this moment, since before she even met Domino, had heard of him. Power. Important in the eyes of her teammates. The ability to protect and help them. But was that all? There was a hunger in her, a desire to consume and grow stronger and consume more. The Beast. Now that she knew the truth of it, knew what the Beast actually was, a part of her was afraid to ask for that power. That is could be the undoing of all she strove for. Or perhaps it was that knowledge and connection that made her the perfect choice?

Found’s jaw firmed and her face became serious. “I dare you, Domino, to cede your powers as King to me, to act as a regent in your stead.”

She paused: she didn’t have to go on unless she wanted. “Un-until you are of an age and wish to regain the responsibilities as King, in which case I will cede your powers back to you.”

"P-power ?" Domino stuttered. He had heard the very inflection of the word get used and it range a weird twang in his thoughts. Power struck at the core of the souls that watched over, and in the minds of his siblings. Domino's hands shook and they clasped the empty mug of hot cocoa. Squinting his eyes and remembering their taste he chanced a gulp into his cup and tasted something warm and bitter. His lips were stained red and his eyes spiked wide open.

The mug, halfway filled with blood tasted nothing like the one in Big Sister's mug at all.

“Is this what you wanted?" He said.

"I’m not sure if you should even if you did just dare me to."

"So-" He picked up the cup and with a tear running down his cheek drank more of it until it was but a tenth full.

And then he passed the cup to the center. Viscous black-red stuff swilled at the bottom.

"If you can finish that-" Domino stated, "if you can finish I'll let you have the rest."

His eyes darted in all possible direction before, but this time they locked into Found's. The intensity of his remark had all the warning and sickness that it could intend. And then behind it all was the worry that it could do to her.

    But-
    It was a dare.

Found reached out for the cup. Her fingers, long and strong, were outreached to it, only an inch from the ceramic’s edge. She had ended the fun of the game. But Domino would keep playing until the end, even if it killed him. And so she would too. Her fingers closed around the mug, and brought it up to her mouth. Her nostrils flared at the smell, so pregnant with possibilities. A part of her felt fear, another part felt exaltation. She had learned a hard lesson when she had delved herself and unlocked the secrets of the mind.

There was no such thing as a free lunch.

She placed the cup to her lips and upended it.

Domino's hand curled in on itself in a twitch. His nails digging right into the carpet and making a distinct ripping noise. Found sniffed the blood as it wafted memories of bloodshed, death, and carnage at the back of her mind and upon tasting it, made her throat clench as if she drank death. But with a pained gulp she swallowed. Swallowed the whole thing and dropped the mug. Trivial specks of blood spattered against the snow white carpet as she clutched her throat. Domino looked on—anxious and worried his eyes widened as he gripped his knees. There was nothing he could do for her at this point because he knew exactly how she felt.

All the sensations of those he extended his bond could be felt, like fires on his skin. He shared it with his brothers and sisters, shared it forcefully from the bugs he'd held and then finally reached out to that black giant being that took it all this time- and retired it.

She felt the hunger of every beast in those ships: felt the starvation, felt the cold of space and felt their agonizing need to reach out to a bond that could understand them.

And then she saw it by the fireplace—sharp pokers, a fork, and that blazing ember that promised fire and eternity from all the things she is feeling now.

And at this point Domino stood up.

Found’s hand was still at her throat as Domino stood above her. While he was just a child, right now, with her sitting back on her legs, he seemed to stand taller then before. Darkness crept up in the corners of her vision, not darkness exactly, but a kind of insistent droning, of demands and of accusing questions. She looked up at him, burning hot death and cold sucking void boiling through her veins. Her stomach roiled with something so foreign that her very flux tried to pull away.

Thirty days is a long time to a man without much on his plate. Helping Lost with Found was a brief thing, as all he could offer was a brief, simple consultation on what he knew, which was brief. His flux was too warped for diving. So with a heavy heart, he gave Lost and Gheist some gentle well wishes, returning to the motor pool.

After a racouos celebration of a life being brought from the ashes of his son's death, Shot managed to make a few honest friends. Two technitians, Flywheel and Hubcap, turned out to be a pair of aged veterans who normally secluded themselves deeper in the motorpool than he, and they became fast friends. Shot was sure inspiration for the next iteration of Betsy was just... around... the corner.

She spoke carefully, willing herself not to vomit. “H-how do you cope with this? All of the time?”

    “It's a bond,” he started.

    “It's a trust,” he said.

And his lips were not moving at all. His eyes were the only thing that was understood.

"When I dove in your family, when I saw the things that they had done. I saw the evils that they hid away in themselves, the weaknesses that drive them mad, and the sadness that keeps them from walking right all the time. I saw hatred, separation from the self and…”

    "Lies."

"We... we can't lie, did you know?"

"Nothing is hidden from our hearts so, the bond has thrust us in this cold world, but as cruel as it is, we've only each other."

“We die, we eat, we feed, we feel each others' pain."

Domino looked at the fireplace. "If you throw yourself on that fire you'll be gone, and we'll feel it. Another hole in our hearts."

His thoughts were clearer this time, as if the very feeling were familiar to him. He took another sip of the mug, his lips colored red again but he licked his lips. It was only a taste, a fraction.

It was the power that she spoke of.

"But we love, we care, we would starve ourselves for each other."

"And when we hate—it’s big, unstoppable, and grows bigger and bigger."

Domino squats down before Found, his eyes wide and curious and searching. His fingers wrapped gently around her face as if searching for something.

"And since I haven't asked for a Truth, I will now: will you be able to remain as the same Big Sister and hold yourself together? And play games and protect this big family that found me?”

“Or will the mayhem change you?"

Snow drifted in from outside. It was unclear when the windows had broken, and when the safety of the cabin had been breached. But in the ensuing windfall of freezing cold—the fireplace was dying out.

Found looked into they hybrid’s eyes. Deep black stared back at her, a dark void, twin pools of black pre-war oil, and as she stared harder a red sheen flickered across the surface. Looking into them, Found could feel the bond between them growing, she could feel part of her slipping towards that blurring line where Found ended and Domino began. His hands dug into her skin, firm and insistent. Were they cold? Was she cold? Darkness fluttered in the corner of her eyes. She pushed it back with a will.

Her voice came out as a croak, “I once thought I was hardening myself because I knew I would always be alone. That I would have to stand alone and vigilant. Now I see that I will never be alone, and that if I am hard, it is for a fortitude of mind, for I could never turn away such love.”

“A lot of people don’t understand what love truly is. They think it is holding hands and remembering birthdays. But you, and me, and them,” she gestures at the night’s sky through the broken window, “we know what it means. When I came out the cyro pod, I felt a hole in my heart, a need I haven’t been able to fill until now. My center will hold, I’ve been through too much to give up now. I will protect us, not just Bravo, but my new teammates as well.”

Her own hands slid across his cheekbones. “Will you give me the ability to do it?”

“I would dare it,” Domino sniffed.

Between them the small mug held between his hands filled up to an extra sip's worth. Soon it would fill but for now it wasn't going to go passed halfway. Too much and she'd go right over the edge.

“This one should be sweeter,” he mused. “It's from her heart."

Found placed the cup to her lips and drank greedily, savoring the taste on her tongue. If the last one had been molten steel and freezing ice, this one was sweet almost to the point of being cloying. But a part of her sucked in the blood like a man dying of thirst. There was a part of her, cold and grey, that needed this. A melody, a symphony played through her mind, each instrument playing in perfect harmony with each other. She sat there in the crowd, but she could feel herself being pulled toward the conductors stand, could feel the beat and tempo course through her veins.

There was a part of her, shrunken and atrophied, the she could feel ripen and bloom. A strange contentment welled up in her, made all the more vivid by the emptiness she had hidden from herself for so long. The mug dropped to the ground as she wrapped her arms around the child, pulling him close in an embrace.

“Thank you,” she said, tears rolling down her cheek pressed against the side of his head.

    "Y-"

With words escaping from his mouth he searched the right human words.

    "You're welcome."

Eyes closed, he locked himself in this human embrace as his small frame pressed against her between sobs.

The hug was a human invention.

Soap during the interim has gone through some significant changes. To begin with his belief in monoism has been faltering of late. Repeated diving into Psicomm as well as the side effects of his new class have taken their toll. Further more his original body was awaken from cryo on his home planet of Croix, by the Malrasi crime cult. Knowledge of the latter event has greatly troubled Soap as that was life he was trying to escape from. Suffering from guilt of leading the life he wanted while his original suffers in his old life has had Soap confiding with his AI and has turned him to Zeroist beliefs.

A months leave. Most people considered it a time to relax and have some much deserved fun. Unlike everyone else Warsaw spent most of this leave time working. Between keeping a watchful eye on Domino, working with Aberham to diagnose Found, Walker's incident, and Dragon's continuing efforts to find new and interesting ways to injure himself, Warsaw had little time to just relax. It also left him little time to indulge in self pity. As the days pasted his self doubt and concerns faded, and he was soon back to his old self.
Bravo's beach vacation was Warsaw's first real chance to relax and he used it well. What time he wasn't simply hanging out with the other members of Bravo, he was down at the beach surfing. Island life was alright.

Krieg's mornings were dedicated to recuperating from the night before. He would wake up mostly clothed, sometimes indoors, pilfer a meager breakfast from a street vendor then meander towards the beach. Pfc Soap was always waiting by the beach volleyball pits. The two had a standing arrangement: Krieg was the mouthpiece, he'd loiter and challenge anyone present to a cash game. Given Krieg's diminutive stature and Soap's unassuming appearance opponents were easy to come by and many were lured onto the court. Then the trap was sprung. Soap dropped his illusion, revealing the bionic plugs covering his body and his nature as a combat clone. With his mind free for tasks other than camouflaging his body he dominated the court. Sets suddenly broke into brutal spikes as the ball seemed to warp through the air. Krieg did his part as a verbal bully, putting all his vocal acumen gained as a Bravo Sergeant into screaming when the opposing team faulted.

In scorched sand of Prima Masquerade's volleyball pits, all was fodder before their scythe.

At sunset the two Uglies would depart to meet up with other Bravos and squander their winnings. Good times were had, liquids were imbibed, songs were sung, fights were started, favors were solicited, fights were lost, more substances were imbibed, and the beautiful cycle was repeated.

Blaze had thought he'd been rather secure in his place as a rifleman. Throughout his training he'd been trained to shoot straight and carry the fight to the enemy. Aim with the hand, shoot with the mind, kill with a heart like ice. He thought he'd stay a rifleman because it was what he was most comfortable with. Aggressive and versatile. His superiors used to say he'd make a good knight with his hard charging attitude, and wondered why he hadn't been one in the first place. Probably because of his small stature when compared to most knights. Sure, he wasn't small, but he was average at best. He was content enough to be a hard charging rifleman.

And then he got splattered like a little bitch. In VR of course, but it was still a little jarring. If he'd been kitted in knight gear he probably would have survived that. He thought about it for a while before requisitioning knight gear and finding he was pretty good at it. Somehow this style of fighting felt more comfortable to him than that of a rifleman. He spent a large portion of Bravo's leave training to make up for lost time.

One day, after corresponding with his original on his whereabouts and of where he was stationed for leave, she'd sent a message back to him, telling him there was something for him at a nearby post office. It was just like her to go out of her way to make him feel loved. It was sometimes a little aggravating, because he disliked it when people went about doing troublesome things for his sake. Nevertheless he went, and upon arriving at the post office he gave his name and other required particulars and was given a plain looking rectangular box. Returning to the residence Bravo was staying for the duration of this vacation, he opened it to find that it was filled, practically to the brim, with jelly beans. He couldn't help but grin. Both he and his original loved these things.

He reached in and rummaged around through the treats to see if there was anything else. He felt a smaller box in the midst of the jelly beans, and pulled it out. He opened it to find a dark red scarf. He held the scarf in his hands for a while, feeling the somewhat rough texture. He recalled memories of a life that didn't belong to him. A little girl dancing through the snow, a scarlet muffler trailing behind her, laughing as she stumbled and fell, waving her arms and legs to make patterns in the drifts, rolling snow balls and making rough caricatures of men with stones for eyes and branches for arms. Even though this all occurred through his eyes, through all of this he felt as if he'd been standing afar off, watching from a distance. He knew all these memories were not his, and that he could never claim them. But it was nice to have something to look back at nonetheless.

He stood, leaving the scarf with the rest of his personal items, and went out with the box of jelly beans under arm. Maybe the rest of Bravo would appreciate them as much as he did.

    >Captured on a security camera when Found awakes. Her mental state doesn’t seem to change as she awakens.

At this point the eyelid had been left open. While it had been closed several times by orderlies, but in the last 24 hours the eyelid seems to open again and again to reveal the black chrysalis that rested where her left eye should be. Light shone off the shiny surface, broken up into a hundred little facets, light playing off the red iridescent sheen. On the center line of the eye, where the eyelids would meet, was a line of interconnected golden bumps, running all the way across.

It was along this uneven band there was a tiny cracking sound. A tiny segmented leg appeared, breaking up through the middle of the golden border. The leg was made of a shiny black carapace, segmented six, now eight times as it pushed further through its opening, moving more like a limp of an octopus then that of a spider or beetle. The insectoid leg writhed around for a second, enjoying its new freedom, before there were more tiny little cracks as more black tentacles broke out of the golden line. They all thrashed momentarily, until as if with an unspoken command, they straighten.

Half of them curled up and the other half curled down, like interlocking black fingers. There was a creaking sound, and then a sharp crack is a fissure ran up and down the golden stripe. The little black limps struggled, pulling the chrysalis, now in two halves, up and down. The halves slid seamlessly up and down, disappearing under her eyelids. The origin point for the legs never seemed to appear, as if they had snaked along the inside of the chrysalis from the back of the eye. The second eyelid that had been the cocoon parted and a red light poured out.

It would have been hard to see in the lit room, but her iris, a match in shape and size for the old one, now glowed a faint red. The iris itself was now a bright red, almost an inversion in color of her bright blue right eye. The coloration was made all the more apparent by the sclera of the eye being a pitch black. As the last of the chrysalis slid out of sight and a faint crunch of mastication could be heard from the back of the eye, the pupil started to hungrily swivel around. Found’s other eye opened, still the same bright blue that her and Lost shared, and she blinked both eyes in rapid succession. Quickly the black of her left eye faded back into the more customary white.

Looking up at the camera, Found winked.

Private Ceebee, recent graduate of clone sniper academy, had an interesting month. First, he was defrosted from a cryotube in the middle of a pitched battle, as Xenoforms besieged the space station the unit he was assigned to had been occupying, to be greeted by the cryo technician's yell of "Ha, there *was* a guy in this one! If we live through this, you owe me a beer, Flynn!"

Next, he'd tried to report to anyone in charge, but had been told "Nah, we don't need any more snipers. Here, put this on." and handed a [TA] rig, which he proceeded to use not especially well. He was, via the TA rigs access to the PsiComm net, privy to a series of increasingly insane plans to turn around the desperate defence of something called 'domino/abbadon' from an entire goddamn hive fleet. This defence was ridiculously successful after the unit commander, a Colonel Walker, decided on the craziest of all available plans, which worked perfectly and in fact may have entirely neutralized the Xenos as a threat to the HLF.

And now he was on a vacation world, with a drink he didn't recognize that was lined with tiny decorative umbrellas, and no-one was threatening to detonate his organs for a change. In short, he had what was going on, but had decided to stop caring and go with it once the words 'vacation world' had come up.

He spent his time with his family, mainly with his little sister, reveling in her newfound health. Nomad cherished these quiet moments with them, re-connecting the bonds that had initially lead him to join the HLF. After a week and a half, Nomad returned to the Lucky O'Reilley in orbit around Prima Masquerade.

The Knight was not used to beaches or islands for that matter. The heat, the sand, and all that water, it was almost overwhelming for the agriworld boy. Still after a day or two he'd acclimated nicely. He'd learned to surf, gone diving for pearls, partied at luaus, and just watched the sun set across the beach. It was a nice break from sewers, dead moons, and space stations.

But what had caught his eye was a fellow member of Bravo. He'd only talked with her maybe a half dozen time, mostly pre-mission banter. Perhaps it was her strength and her fiery spirit that drew him in. Or maybe it was the change in scenery. Either way she had caught his eye.

He watched her from the beach bar as she relaxed in the sun. Perhaps now was his chance! He ordered two drinks from the bartender and with a grin set off towards her. As he daydreamed of a blissful beginning, Nomad was ignorant of the sound of an approaching dune buggy....

Bravo had been staying at a resort island on Prima Masquerade, Lost's home planet. While everyone else had stayed on the main island, Lost had been more than uncomfortable with her likeness everywhere. In truth, Geist was unnerved by it himself when passing through the island, advertisements for "Lady Interest" all over. Because of this, he and Lost had chosen to stay in a more secluded place on a nearby island in the archipelago.
Most of his vacation had been spent with Lost, but rarely he made a few trips to the main island for a little gambling...
Where he was from, Last Chance, underground gambling (both literal and figurative) was one of the few main forms of recreation available. For many, gambling was one of the few ways out of poverty. As he had told Lost, "They have a saying on my homeworld. There is no cheating, just alternate ways to play." For people on Last Chance, you had to be as good at cheating as you were at playing a game. Of course, casino security made more conventional methods impossible here.

After nearly blowing up the station and Lucky O’Reilly with nuclear scuttling charges, Colton enjoys a crisis of faith with his skill-set. Those around him do not enjoy this, as it leaves him grumpier then usual.

On one of his walks where he easily avoids all other PCs in the halls, Colton finds himself in the motorpool being accosted by some old greasemonkey when he stares at a Strider for too long.

After a long conversation, where there is equal parts censored profanity and elder wisdom, the old mechanic convinces Colton that he might wish a clean break from his troubled existence, and no better way to do that then to take Greased Lightning out for a spin.

He loved it, and decided to forsake his volatile M class (which was due for an advanced class aways) for the Liaison Pilot class.

The kinesthetic attunement needed required for being a pilot really did a number on his inner ear, and like most pilots, he found the flight suits way too restrictive. No wonder they needed they needed these stupid grapple hands.

A few weeks training and a transcription later, Colton found himself in a red Hawaiian t-shirt and blue trunks in the driver’s seat of a dune buggy bouncing up and down the dunes of Prima Masquerade. With Mai Tais in the cupholders and giggling beach bimbo with her arm around him he had already destroyed three sandcastles and sent countless sprays of sand onto sunbathers.

Seeing Nomad ahead, Colton grinned to himself inside his new helmet, an even starker Pilot one. He started to pull up to hail his squadmate when he saw Nomad’s quarry.

Ohhoho, he thought to himself, before pulling away from the knight to chase some children playing on the beach. The sand bunny riding shotgun giggled vacuously and leaned on his shoulder.

Sitting crossarmed at the edge of a woman's bed he stared vacantly at the rich waters, the expansive dunes, the tall grass and the resorts' motto for non obtrusive structures and naturalist forms of entertainment.

And counted all the possible killzones in the area out of morbid fascination with his work.

He looked behind him and saw Nada sound asleep. Her hair sprawled all over the pillows as her hands reached to the other half of the bed embracing no one in particular.

By the time he got back here she would likely be 8 years older than him, while he would have been gone for only a year or two.

Wolf's uniform was enough that the sea of civilians parted to let him through. He strutted up to the customs officer like he owned the place. Disgust was openly displayed on the officer's face, sneering at Wolf.

One look at the inquisitorial papers wiped it of his face though. With new-found fear he looked at Wolf's grinning face. He was waved through. That was what Wolf loved. Being part of the most feared institution in the ODF had its perks. Like being able to smuggle nearly everything as long as you could get it past your CO's.

His 'mother's' apartment lay before him. It was an old apartment building with the paint flaking from the walls and an unbearable stench coming from the carpet. Wolf couldn’t understand why she wanted to live here, but he already tried, unsuccessfully, to sway her. He tried the bell, but didn't get any response. A short time after he had knocked on the door a girl in her teenage years opened the door.

Not showing his surprise he greeted her and asked, if Mrs. Alsgi was home. Instead of giving an answer she threw the door in his face. Minutes later a good looking woman opened the door. Her black hair was shoulder-length, tied into a pigtail. Wearing a figure hiding sweater and jeans, she eyed him wearily.

Thoroughly confused Wolf addressed her: “Mrs. Alsgi?”

    “Yes?”

    “Uhm.. Is Gladeya Alsgi home?”

“She's dead.”, slipping contempt into her voice.

Knowing that he wasn't welcome, Wolf turned to leave.

    “Why are you here?”

    Wolf stopped.

    “I have leave.”

'His' wife, Lyn, nodded. That made sense.

Half turning around, Wolf asked: “Why didn't you write? You could have informed me.”
“Don't give me that! She wasn't your mother! She had a son, not some freak against nature!”

Typical insults; didn't even phase him.

    “She was stupid to ever...”

On this he perked up and was upon her and grabbing her by the neck before she could even blink.

“Do. Not. Speak. Of. Her. Like. That.”

Unbridled hate emanated from him in waves, lashing Lyn and making her squirm.

“We don't like each other. Fine, but don't sully her name. She was a great woman and you will be never like her. Never. You don't even know what kindness is! Do you know how you feel when you wake up and somebody tells you that your life is just a copy? Of course you don't, because you are just an ungrateful Original!”

At least until Aberham took him hiking. That seemed to raise Wolf's spirit again and had the nice side-effect that he socialized more with his unit than before.

It was nice and easy to listen, and it made it easier to talk once you heard it all. In this regard he was considered a loner by most of the people he served with. He didn't quite like being alone, but it never truly bothered him. But sometimes it was good to have time uninterrupted.

He hadn't been assigned to Bravo for long now, only a few weeks at best. He hadn't made a huge point of getting to know anyone. So he enjoyed his time away wondering the building and shop, before finally making a slow circuit around the sandy beaches surrounding the area.

The air was warm, the breezes cool, and the scenery beautiful. The planet was a nice respite from what he had been dealing with since joining Bravo. Though he hadn't seen much yet, it was all still stressful.

As he walked along the sands toward the North eastern beaches his thoughts turned to his sister. Being twins, they had always had a connection, but out here, in the deep reaches of space, they had lost touch over time. As he thought about her time was lost to him.

Once he had come out of his contemplative trance he found that he was sitting on a sandy outcropping just below the beach he was heading towards. He looked around at the statues for a few seconds. Then he turned back to watch the ocean.

    >Lost spent most of the month hanging out with friends and stealing time with Geist. While she tried to rekindle her relationship with Found, it never really worked out. If she want to any other places before this island, it was Geist. And she only came here because it was where most of Bravo was going to meet up.

    >>13608296

Lost sat, soaking in the sun. It felt good to just sit and relax for a spell, letting the sun warm her flesh as a cool breeze pulled away the heat. She would have liked to feel the sun on her face and heating her long blond hair, but she had learned quickly that the wide-brimmed cloth hat and the dark Onassis sunglasses had been necessary if she didn’t want to be swarmed by the locals and tourists alike. Much of Bravo that had joined them on shore leave had gaped and gawked, and then turned amused smiles and questioning stares at her. Just thinking about it made her pull the hat down further.

The woman was everywhere. On billboards, television, commercial goods; in paintings and pictures; and even on the horrible t-shirts tourists always seemed to buy. And she had Lost’s face.

Well, that wasn’t exactly true. It was more to say that Lost had the face of the Diva Lady Interest, she was after all a clone of her. Drafting clones of Lady Interest into the ODF had been a publicity stunt done by her PR department; Divas of Pleasure Planets were always cooking up stunts like that. A Diva represented her planet: she was their figurehead, their mascot, their household name. When people thought of Lady Interest, they thought of Prima Masquerade. She was at the top of their music charts, their sex symbol, their ambassador, and their leader. She might have not personally made any of the decrees she gave, but they still came from her lips. To call her their god might have been going too far, but she was definitely the planet’s idol.

    >Continued from >>13611972

For the first time in her life, Lost felt awkward in her own body. While many of the lessons she had received from Lady Interest’s memories she had discarded either in boot or in Bravo, she had always respect and pride in her body. Now she felt bashful and exposed in her two-piece swimsuit, even with the gauze wrap skirt that she had left open in the front to sun her legs. Where Lost was pretty, Lady Interest was beautiful. She was soft edges and curves in voluptuous proportions. She was beauty of Lost as it could ripen under ideal conditions with time. She made Lost feel tall, plain, and muscle-bound. And some of the clothing the Diva wore, if you could call it that… Not for the first time did she think about heading back to the hotel and bundling up in the heaviest clothing she could find that covered her from neck to toes. And then she made herself stop that line of thought again. It was all because of that woman…

Trying to pull herself out of her slump, Lost turned to Geist on the chair next to her and thought about what he had said. She had not really ever thought about money herself. In her memories as the youth that would become Lady Interest she had lived like royalty. And in the military the army had paid for all of her needs. Geist, or the original of Geist, hadn’t been so lucky. And he was already thinking ahead.

“Geist, what will you do when you become a legitimate?”

Sitting in the chair, watching the sea as the sound of the waves washed over them, he sat there silent for a moment s if ordering his thoughts. After a few moments, he spoke.

"When I become legit... for a long time I never even thought about it. Thought I'd die long before then. Now? I at least have some hope I'll get through this. You know that it was the original Edwin Zeleck that went through boot instead of me? My first actual memories come from Aggoria. My plans since then had been to save a little money to help me get started somewhere, make a life for myself if I got through my term. Now?"

He looked over at her. "I've been thinking about settling down somewhere with a beautiful woman."

    >Right, before the battle begins. I promised I'd drop it, and by the Landers, I'm going to fucking drop it.

    0500 Hours:

Second Class Sergeant Miguel Hartford sat up from his cot. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, Hartford carefully swung his legs off the cot and onto the ground, taking care not to knock over the basket containing the sleeping kitten. Once again, Hartford expressed thanks to Colton for his gift.

    0600 Hours:

“Morning, Miguel. Up at the crack of ‘dawn,’ as usual?”

“Morning, Nathan. And yup, that’s my thing. As you know –”

“Momma always said that you start the day right by starting the day early,” both men said in unison, followed by laughter.

“Hahaha, alright, so what’s the menu for today?”

“Sergeant, you always ask me that, and I keep telling you, it’s always the same thing:”

“Reconstructed wheat-based cereal smothered in a calcium-rich cold-broth, ‘jacks made from reconstructed wheat and bovine milk, scrambled or sunny-side up reconstructed chicken eggs, reconstructed pig fat strips and –”

“Nutrient tubes, strawberry flavored,” both men said in unison once more.

Private Vaylen began dropping various food from the hot trays behind the counter, none of which were what he had just described, before handing them to Sergeant Hartford.

    “Eat up, bro.”

    0630 – 0745 Hours:

    “HOAH!”

    *THWACK*

Hartford caught the punching bag after his last barrage of punches. Sometimes he missed the days when he could go around picking fights as the local gang’s muscle. He sighed, and dropped into his stance once more. His left hand punches were too high too often; he needed to work on that otherwise his side would be open during an attack.

    0745 – 0930 Hours:

    *Click* *click* *click*

Hartford looked up at the clock. Only 8:45. He sighed and returned to writing up reports. A comical sight, for anyone unused to it: a huge man, more suited to be bludgeoning people or being a door, seated at a desk, “typing” away at a screen that looked comically small due to his size.

    0930 – 1015 Hours:

    *Mew*

Little-C, or Q-*Censored*-r, as Colton had named him, mewed expectantly at the man.

“Hold on, hold on, Papa’s gonna get you your food, alright?”

    *Mew*

Hartford walked over and placed a small pet bowl before the kitten, who eagerly lapped up the warm liquid. After about two weeks with the kitten, the two of them had already established a rough feeding schedule.

“Papa’s going to go back to work now, will you behave yourself, Little-C?”

    *Mew*

“That’s a good boy,” Hartford said, bending over to rub the kitten’s head affectionately.

    1015 – 1245 Hours:

    *Click* *Click* *Click*

Hartford looked up anxiously between forms. Why, oh why must this time of day last so long? He knew all the others were ready to leave too, just waiting for the clock. Except for Bob. Bob took his duty seriously, which Hartford respected, however he thought that the man ought to lighten up a little, even IF his job was to monitor the system cameras.

“Hey guys, the lunch trolley is IN!”

“But it’s not hurting anyone! Seriously, I mean, it isn’t even dangerous!”

    *SLAM*

“ALL NARCOTIC SUBSTANCES ARE CONTRABAND, PRIVATE!”

Hartford slammed his fist into the bulkhead, bellowing right in the Private’s face. Another soldier had been caught with smuggled narcotics on board the ship. While he understood Walker’s orders to be “a little lenient from time to time,” Hartford could not overlook the possession of illegal narcotics. Especially if it meant he could knock some heads in.

    “DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME, PRIVATE?”

    *Grumble* “… Big oaf…”

“I SAID DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME, PRIVATE?!? OR DO I NEED TO BUST YOUR PANSY-ASS BALLS IN WITH MY FOOT FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND?”

    “SIR, YES SIR!”

“DOES THAT MEAN THAT I NEED TO CRUSH YOUR BALLS, SOLDIER?”

“SIR, NO SIR! I MEAN TO SAY THAT I UNDERSTAND YOU MESSAGE, LOUD AND CLEAR, SIR!”

    *SMACK*

“ALRIGHT THEN! JACOBS, ESCORT PRIVATE YUN HERE TO THE BRIG!”

    “SIR, YES SIR!”

Hartford watched as Yun was led forcibly away by the MP. He loved his job. Especially because he was enforcing the rules AND being threatening.

“So I was saying, ‘Baby, this may be our last night alive, we should reall-”

    “SIR!”

Private Wyllie and Renault saluted to the Sergeant, who returned the salute.

“What were you talking about, Private Renault?”

“Nothing, sir. Just banter between two soldiers.”

“Alright. Carry on, but make sure to pay attention.”

    “SIR, YES SIR!”

The automatic doors hissed open, and Hartford stepped into the command room.

“… So what do you think they talk about, in there?”

“I don’t know, Renault. It’s the officers’ meeting. Could be loungin’ around drinking whiskey and puffin’ cigars for all I care, and it would still mean I’d be stuck here with you.”

“Aww, you know you enjoy the company Wyllie.”

“Only because I feel smarter just by standing next to you.”

“That wounds my heart, good sir.”

    1600 – 1800 Hours:

Hartford returned to his room after two rounds of patrolling the halls of the Lucky O’Reilly, the door opening with a hiss.

    “Little-C? Little-C? Where are you?”

The Sergeant looked around his room for the little kitten. After five minutes of searching, he peeked beneath his cot to find the kitten curled up asleep on top of one of his shirts that had fallen to the ground. With a smile on his face, the Sergeant tiptoed out of the room. He would bring his little friend a treat later, after dinner.

    1800 – 1900 Hours:

    “Hey there Chef.”

“Hey Sergeant. We got chili today.”

    “AWESOME!”

All the other crewmen within earshot scrambled to fill their tables, lest they be unfortunate enough to be sitting with Hartford when he ate chili.

    1900 – 2100 Hours:

Hartford patrolled the empty halls, whistling an old tune from his childhood.

“Oh, shi- the Sergeant’s coming! Quick, run!”

Hartford heard the harsh whispering and grinned. He learned long ago that alerting others to your presence was often a good thing – for when a person heard you, and they were doing something they weren’t supposed to be doing, they’d usually panic and attempt to run, and make quite a bit of noise. Especially when the person they were running from was Sergeant Hartford, the man who wore metal-plated boots and was fond of kicking things. Hartford grinned. Looks like he was going to have more fun today.

    2100 – 2200 Hours:

Hartford placed the kitten on his little bed, before climbing into his cot as well. After finishing his rounds, he returned to find Little-C chewing on a ball of socks that the Sergeant had long since abandoned to the cat.

“Had a lot of fun while Papa was away, Little-C?”

    *Mew*

The kitten yawned, and rested his head.

“Looks like you’re tired, eh? Going to sleep doesn’t seem like a bad idea, if I say so myself. I think I’ll turn in too… ‘night, Little-C.”

    *Mew*

    >And THAT is life on the Lucky O'Reilly as seen by Sergeant Hartford.

It took less than a day for both copies of Irons to decide that vacation just wasn't for them. There was no structure to their time, no purpose- it took a matter of hours for both of them to feel as though they were backsliding. The original J. Rybaltowski was out there somewhere, acting like he acted, and neither of his active military clones particularly felt like returning to that lifestyle- and they knew they would, if given the opportunity, because that was what he'd done and they were him.

Unfortunately, staying in the unit while everyone else took vacation wasn't really on the table, so they were forced to provide their own structure to life. Wake up early, grab a snack followed by exercise and sparring. Breakfast, with slightly more variety than normal- neither would complain about better food than on the ship, though the cooks had not played any of their "all we have is nutrient paste" jokes on Irons. Studying tactics, policies, history, reading the newfeeds about politics and the war. Lunch. More sparring, this time with weapons, usually accompanied by random philosophical discussions. Second lunch. A call to a randomly determined member of the platoon, for amusement and education. Trip to the shooting range, generally with vague resentment that rocket launchers were disallowed (and illegal to purchase or possess privately, far worse) and sims were not available. Dinner, some light reading, and sleep.

Krieg had woken up in nicer cardboard boxes. The chatter on his dermal implants roused him from his slumber. It was probably Soap, eager to get started on tonight's beer fund. No rest for the wicked. He did a quick scan of the alley for his possessions. Two worn suede foot thongs: still on his feet. A pair of printed swim trunks covered in little bitanks: present. The rifle was something all too real in his hands. He'd been cracked fresh from the chambers right before vacation had struck, tearing him away from the conditioning he'd received from the moment he'd been bred. Now he felt all the force-fed comfort of a firearm in his hands, and he was eager to use it.

Out from the building he would slink, the barrel training about for a viable target. All around him he would see civilians weathering a hail of bullets, falling all about him. War blossomed before his very eyes in plumes of rose red, and he felt that drink from before threaten to retch back into his maw with all the cloying taste akin to what he was witnessing. He fought it down and carried on. Barely.

An enemy appeared before Ibram. Flame-unit at 2 o'clock. Lumbering along, canister full. Potential for destruction, minimal unless very stupid. Casualty potential amongst the innocents around him, high. Very high. Staggering. Too much.

Ugh. Noise. Noise did not help the throbbing. Always throbbing. Ba-bump, ba-bump. Krieg's head was filled with the sound of his own heartbeat. Ba-bump, ba-bump, kshh-chunk.

Oh, right. Now he remembered. Krieg stared blankly at the bitank stalking it's way across the sand. He blinked. Weeks of constant drilling and training took over. Callsign Krieg woke up.

The first round was high, whizzing past the flame-fellow's flank. The man brought his head about to look to Ibram squarely in the face, training the hissing barrel of his weapon to the green rifleman for the sake of seeing him burn.

    "Damn."

Centering the sights once more on his foe with hands that were starting to shake was no easy task, but another round sang as it left his rifle. It struck home, ripping into the throat of the hulking fellow before him. The Dragon jerked back, letting Ibram's next round bore into the machinery that made up the man's jetpack.

The dying man scrabbled at the fountain of blood that had once been his trachea, his weapon falling to the ground and sputtering wildly. As he fell, the roaring, flailing flame consumed all that he was, and his legacy was undone in a single moment.

He exploded. There was nothing left of the first man that Ibram had killed. Nothing to gloat over, curse at, or mourn. Only cinders and the smell of brimstone greeted him. As the blooded rifleman drank the moment in, he was blessed with invisibility from his comrades. Mayhaps it was better to remain unseen for now...

Found had listened to the specialist’s apology with a patient solemnity. Then with a warm smile of fondness she said her own:

“Abe… what happened wasn’t your fault. Ever since I came out of the cryopod… I wasn’t a full person. And then I started delving myself. Between the two I became further and further disconnected from the person I should have been. At the time—well even know—exactly what those changes were and why are hard to explain. I grew frustrated and in my haste to try to explain it all to a person that would listen, and I just confused him instead. I… I was in a dark place. And I saw you and I remembered a glimmer, a spark in an otherwise grey memory-scape, of a man with care and concern and above all a desire to help others.”

Found gave a smile tinged with sympathy. “And I think at least a part of you saw the pretty young girl that was Lost. We were both were living in the past. Lost saw you as a much simpler man then you really are, with your insights as much as your flaws. Even as I was gaining power, I felt powerless, standing in the shadow of my sister, like everyone was looking at me and expecting her. Maybe that’s why I lashed out. Maybe it’s why I changed my appearance. I felt empty. Regardless I treated you poorly, and for that it is me that should apologize.”

Found gently cupped one of Abe’s hands in both of hers. “I’m sorry, Aberham. I was cruel to you: there isn’t any other word for it. It felt… powerful to inflict confusion and unhappiness on you, and there was no excuse for it, and I had no right. I was weak and I lashed out at you. I shouldn’t have let my personal insecurities get the better of me and then yell at you and leave before you had a chance to respond. I’m sorry.”

“I’m going to be very busy the upcoming months. Overseer Evergrad has seen to that, and for at least a while I’ll be trying to help a very different group of people I have learned to call friends,” her red eye’s whites darken for a moment. “I’m going to be spending a lot of time in XenoComm with Domino, but I certainly wouldn’t mind someone to remind me that I’m human. I’ve heard you like to dance, and while these memories of mine aren’t good for much, I think I remember a few steps of the tango.”

Okay, time to put on my planning cap.

Foolscap, connect with Wrecker then teleport behind him to avoid potential saint overwatch. Yeah, you are using him as a shield! Use immolate on the saint (don't immolate the staff! OC, I don't see why he couldn't exercise that level of pyrokinetic control!). The dragon is up in the air, should be visible unless OC comes up with some insane reason he isn't. Use kinesis to pull the dragon into the ground.

Ender, I want you to follow the path shown. You'll be blowing up the shock troopers and then going into overwatch north. This will prevent the rifle troops from closing in.

Blaze, get you ass up those cliffs. Climb! Get away from the bezerkers. You are out of their line of sight, they should miss you. You and Krieg join up with the others on the hill, working to clean that up.

Lost, you and I are going to take out the knights east of us. Then you, me, and Domino are going north up the hill to join up with the others.

Hawkes, I don't know? You're just kind of off doing your own thing. Move east I guess?

Lost looked down at the little child. This was the first time she had been this close to him. Looking up at her with those big black, Lost felt her first pang of motherly affection. He was soo cute! And he looked scared.

It was her job to protect him. Lost dropped the rifleman's corpse. It was now so water-laden that even with her considerable strength her arm was starting to shake with the strain. He was started to thaw too, in the tropical climate.

She wanted to pick Domino up, or at least wrap him in an embrace and tell him everything was going to be okay. But she didn't know if it would be. Anyway, her shield arm was smeared with the now-thawing soldier's blood, and she really didn't have enough clothing on to wipe it off...

Right. When the thread starts up again, I'll drop a plan of evasion, more thorough-like.

It would basically involve Lost booking it either into the water or straight East.

If possible, have our [Fu] teleport her and Dom out of the danger zone.

[K]'s near the boat would evade into the water to the West, or engage in close combat with the trio of riflemen.

Hawkes would more or less stay put, along with the dude with him.

Ender and the person with him would head to the trees for cover, perhaps ganking the [F] near there. Worried about those civilians - last map had them marked with an X.

[K4] would try to move into a building or back into cover, assuming he's a live.

Krieg would continue to wrestle with the BiTank.

Wolf, if he has his body back, could try swinging around the building northward and flanking those riflemen.

Dragon would head East to knock out that [F] and maybe steal his gear.

Tiki idol thing that is darker than the rest is an object of interest.

Try to avoid the civilians. I don't know what they can represent.
    >> [St] Sgt. Geist !!lFMzOYrsgi4 01/23/11(Sun)01:26 No.13624807
    >>13624320

I would strongly recommend NOT having Lost run east. That would take her in range of the berserkers. Instead, I still suggest she follows the route into the water I drew earlier. I can then pick her up with the boat next turn, which will let us move faster. I'll then head to meet up with Trauma in the AAPC.

Foolscap was going to attempt to either teleport a missile or look for programs somewhere. I'd recommend not teleporting anyone out of the way of missiles if they can run, he's low on programs. Teleporting both Lost and Domino would leave him open for hacking (and by extension, all of us).

I cannot get a line of sight on Wolf's body, so he's still out of luck. The next phase that I won't be spending my actions on running, I'll upload him to Orbital to serve as a TA. He's just taking up space in the staff and can always be moved from TA to his body later.

Ender must engage the berserkers east of him, they'll destroy him if he doesn't.

Dragon is doing a little side job for me, but can go after the [F] after he completes it.

    >> [CO] Col. Walker !IMYfe1j54Y 01/23/11(Sun)03:45 No.13625933
    >>13624807

I want to avoid having all of our people too bunched together - mainly, in said boat, because one missile means that you're all dead. Assuming that our enemies wouldn't do it is simply wrong - they can and have proven that they will try to kill us.

The thing I'm worried about Lost is that she may not make it - I don't know her movement range, and I'd rather not have her too bogged down in water, which will slow her down in later turns.

I don't know the blast radius of the missiles - thus I'd rather be safe and have Foolscap teleport our more mission-critical members out of harm's way, if possible.

Ender should engage the beserkers to the East, however I'm also worried that doing so will attract unneeded attention to us - hell, it might be worth more for him to simply move slightly out of range of the beserkers and drop some explosives on either the enemy [F] bunched with the civilians or the trio of riflemen.

But in any case, survival is prioritized - all members should take repositioning routes that would put them out of immediate danger and maximize their ability to survive the next phase as well.

And I stick with my recommendation of avoiding the civilians if possible - as I said before, I don't know what that little X means, and the civilians essentially represent "known unknowns" - the worst thing to have on a battlefield, next to unknowns that you aren't even aware exist.

And the thing with Dragon... so long as it serves a purpose and does not expose him to any unnecessary danger. I don't want to increase our losses any further.

    >This is for a very special lady, Trauma, who asked how she could turn those 3 riflemen next to her landing craft into a fine red jelly. Baby, this one's for you.

To ram/run over an obstacle, you need to move one length before hitting it. If you don't you'll push lesser objects (like people) out of your way, while being halted by bigger ones.

Damage equals 1/2 of the maximum shields (health) of your Armor. 2 shields = 1 damage, 3 = 1.5, etc. This damage is not armor piercing.

It is rating 4 against live targets (i.e. people or armor) representing there active attempts to get out of the way (also the equivalent to the infantry's basic melee rating).

Against solid objects (i.e. walls) instead of rolling you expend one length of movement for every time you deal damage, until your damage overcomes the health of the wall, in which case you break through.

All Armor can run, gaining double movement. For legged vehicles, such as the bi-tank, this functions like the infantry's run. For all others they can only preform this action in a straight line. Doing this action expends all movement and actions, just like the infantry counterpart.

Much like Knights, when running Armor can make a charge attack. When Armor charges, it deals Double Damage to normal targets, and AP damage to Armor. If it collides with armor, it suffers half the damage it deals.

    >Now that our new classes have been finished up, my next focus will be armor combat and units, so expect to see new rules and tactics, as well as clarifications. And yes Shot, due to the new rules, your Ag will be seeing a few changes.

Lost has a move of 4, that's 8 hexes if she RUNs. She'll be going only 2 hexes into the water, rest of it will be overland. The boat moves at a speed of 5 lengths, more than enough to outrun and striker missile called down on it. Standard rockets can either be shot down or easily avoided, the thing is mobile! Unless OC decides to spawn some Anti-armors within 5 hexes of the boat, it should be safe enough.

If Ender would move 2 South, 2 Southeast, he would probably be out of blast range. We could have him shoot the nearest berserker to him while killing the [F], that should leave him out of range of the other berserkers that turn.

Looking at the map again, I'd agree that Foolscap and Hawkes should pull further away from the targeted area so that they aren't at risk. Instead of Foolscap teleporting himself away, have Hawkes drag him back. Not sure if there is a move penalty for dragging someone? But that'll get them both out of harms way without expending programs.

Feeling the dry sand beneath her feet, Lost gave a sigh of relief as she saw the supply crate. Moving up to it, she felt her PsiComm signal shaking hands with it as it rumbled to life. Prying off Domino and telling him to stay right there, she pressed her palm against the yellow circle on the side of the crate.

"Lost, AB45-893VK," she said in a regulated voice.

The crate shook and the lid split open in a mechanical hiss. Inside each crate was weaponized protomass suspended in a matrix of shaping chips that could turn into almost anything in the ODF infantry database. Light and heat poured out from the crate as the protomass "baked" and robotic hands detached from the sides to slip the newly created custom tailored armor onto Lost with help of magnetic clasps.

The sonic prong rumbled out of the top of the crate, so long it had to be done in batches. Lost picked it out of the proffering metal hand after she fitted on her force shield. Gesturing towards the now beached landing craft, her and Domino made their way inside.

Anyway, i've been dead since the end of round two, and apparently i'm stuck in this husk. So, i'd appreciate it if you could see your way through to at least tossing me in the direction of the rest of our ream.

Walker’s viewscreen flashes to life with an incoming local call. A young man’s face appears on the screen, his high cheekbones and smoldering eyes put him at handsome, almost beautiful. His dark black hair is gelled and curled, and his collared shirt seems almost military formal except for the plunging V neckline down the front that reveals the flawless smooth skin of a sculpture. Flames dance in his eyes and his finely chiseled features glower at the seasoned Colonel.

“This is Administrator Lovac of Prima Masquerade. Lady Interest does not have the time to listen to you.”

“ODF ship Lucky O’Reilly, you are violating the sovereign airspace of planet Prima Masquerade. Cease military deployment to the surface of the planet and power down engine and weapon systems. Our Orbital Defense Fleet has already been contacted and is enroute as we speak. Right now you are in violation of the Landsman Treaty and this has been considered an act of war.”

“Your reasons for being here are groundless. Archipelago Halcyon has recently gone dark, but power outages are a well-known if unpleasant occurrence on the islands, and that sector of PsiComm monitoring has been taken down for maintenance and currently unreachable. I say again, power down your weapon and engine systems and cease all deployment of troops and weapons to the surface, or you will be considered hostiles.”
    >> [CO] Col. Walker !IMYfe1j54Y 01/23/11(Sun)18:09 No.13632500
    >>13632365

Walker eyed the man in the screen. Did all the men on this planet look like this? If so, it was probably a good thing that he wasn't planet-side.

"Administrator Lovac, I'd suggest you take a second look at any kind of security feeds of Archipelago Halcyon from the last two days. If someone HASN'T altered your feeds, you would find that my men were on leave when the entire island came under attack from an unknown ODF unit. Further investigations would reveal that the hostile unit is an Executor Force."

Walker typed into the console, and sent a series of stills depicting the battle as it played out from the view of a satellite that had been observing the situation planet-side.

"So as you can see, my 'military deployments' is simply my attempts at securing a friendly landing zone to extract my men and any surviving civilians from an area that is clearly dangerous, which I do believe is something that I am given according to said treaty that you have cited."

"And until the situation on the surface has calmed down and I have retrieved my men, good Administrator," the Colonel growled, "I will NOT power down my ship's weapons, nor will I power down my engines, and allow another Executor Force to waltz in and kidnap my men. So if you wish to fight me, that's fine. If you wish to work with me to rescue any remaining civilians from a combat zone, that's fine too. Because I will only fight back when provoked."

Walker typed into the console once more. Lander's grief, where the hell was Fierstrom?

"Well Administrator Lovac, if I would have to guess? You heard about that treaty between the xenoforms and the Federation about a month ago? My men and I were responsible for that. So from the looks of it..."

    Walker bore a feral grin.

"It looks like someone wasn't too happy about it, making them a renegade unit. So, are you still requesting me to stand down, Administrator? Or may I go ahead and call down some firepower?"

Lovac's eyes winced. THe word xenoform twisted his expression tightly.
" So you're they- the HLF's hero ? " I hear many things, many names. And hero is few among them, Walker.

"Good, Administrator. So long as you do not interfere with me, I won't stop you. I will, for all it's worth, try to reign in the amount of collateral damage my men will cause - although I can't say the same for the opposing force."
