    Sup /tg/.

I'm playing the bad guy in an upcoming Space Opera campaign, and I need advice on being a BBEG. I'm not very good at it, so I'm asking for your help in plotting evil deeds.

So I'm a brain with implants in a robot body. I have enough resources to start with maybe three planets under my control. The campaign universe is thirteen galaxies orbiting around one central galaxy. Each one has ~15,000,000 planets with life. There is psychic powers, which I have.

There are fifteen other players, none of which are aware of my existence. Four of them picture themselves would-be BBEGs, two of which are mary sues. One Mary Sue controls the two none-Mary Sue wannabe BBEGs.

The remaining eleven players are pretty varied. Three are Mary Sues. Two none-Mary Sues are killer robots. Three none-Mary Sues have psychic powers.

The tech level is basically Star Wars, maybe Old Republic time period. No Death Stars, yet. Also people use swords a lot, and there's some retarded Bushido shit.

Psychic powers function like the Force, but there's no energy field around the galaxy, the psychic powers are powered by your brain.

Nuclear weapons are still widely used, and robots are uncommon. Railguns are rare, very hard to make, and overpowered. Lasers and blasters are the norm. Personal shields are restricted to 'nobles'.

They're a lot of feudalism and monarchy stuff. Democracy is uncommon. There's also some communist stuff. Capitalism is the normal economy, however. Resources are generally mined on planets. Very few asteroids are mined.

FTL works for short range jumps between individual star systems, mostly. Larger jumps require more energy, or conversely less mass. The largest jump a ship can make under it's own power is maybe 1000 Light Years.

There is also a network of permanent Wormholes across the galaxy. These are expensive to make, but allow jumps across entire galaxies with ease.

Jumps between galaxies can only be made at certain points. Most of the known ones are controlled by monarchic or feudal societies.

Can you steal others psychic power? IT would be nice if you could harvest billions upon billions of lives to power up yourself and become a god.

Maybe you realize your galaxy will sooner or later run out of power, or you did lot's of stuff that leaved your galaxy almost dry on energy. But let's say you have a more or less an idea for inexausthible energy source, but you need a gigantic amount of energy to start the experiment. Amount of energy your galaxy alone can't provide. Therefore you need to steal stars form other galaxies or draw power from, let's say, breaking up the very powers governing the laws of psychics. A galaxy wide entrophy of the very laws of nature.

Now, more on the Mary Sue's, since they're the biggest threat.

    'Evil' Mary Sues:

Evil Furfag Mary Sue: The unfortunate leader of two other evil PCs. Tries to force his furfaggotry on everyone else. Is in charge of a fleet of other furfag aliens. Constantly tries to have sex with all of them. Sells weapons and does mercenary stuff all across the campaign universe. Killed the other Evil Mary Sue's species. Acts like everyone should be happy he's even in the game OOC.

Evil Angsty Mary Sue: Supposed IQ over 200, acts all angsty all the time. Tried to kill Evil Furfag Mary Sue three times. Her eye got cut out and she replaced it with 'lol super ninja weeaboo naruto eye'. Has 'hot' IC whore as her girlfriend, follows her everywhere. Bitchy about everything, tried to take over multiple different nations with lolmindcontrolangst.

    Good Mary Sues:

Good Furfag Mary Sue: Just as much of a furfag as EFMS. Also tries to... yiff. In game. Has quote "Vast Psionic Powers, allowing her to dominate or kill anyone who angers her". Has the stupid 'fursecution' thing going. Is girlfriend of one of the other Good Mary Sues.

Good Ninja Vampire Princess Mary Sue: Yeah. I'm not even going to talk about this one. It's just... really bad.

Good Noble Mary Sue: This is the guy who's girlfriend is the GFMS. Rules a ton of planets, or something. Is the son of some ancient emperor psychic guy. Acts like a total dick to everyone, then claims that 'tales are told of his kindness and generosity'. Thinks he's a samurai, talks about katanas all the time.

There are more planets than there are people on your three, start colonising the fuck out of the uninhabitable ones with cloneships intent on making droid armies led by clones, who have orders to spread to other uninhabited sectors to generate stuff.

Drones keep the crews of 5 or so in cryo while they land their colony ship on the barren planet, then start transforming the land into a von neumann facility using solar power and building habitats. A lot of them will fail, but you'll succeed with enough that those ships can send out MORE ships to uninhabited worlds.

    >Railguns are rare, very hard to make, and overpowered. Lasers and blasters are the norm.

This may be a space opera campaign, and, consequentially, low in terms of sci-fi hardness, but still... a railgun would be easier to make than a weaponized laser. Especially, if said laser gun is supposed to be pistol/rifle size.

But, whatever. To go with the initial BBEG help request, I'd recommend checking out the link posted >>13492784 . Not a definitive guide, but should help you avoid some of the common failures associated with being the BBEG.

As for what to do with your robot brain thing, I'd suggest going the five jew banker route. Be a supplier for the other PCs; provide them with money and materials in exchange for services or repayment with interest. Do this to gain everyone's trust as a "neutral" party. Meanwhile, you're expanding your economic might across the galaxy, gathering more resources and recruiting allies. Once you're powerful and trusted, you can start pitting the players against each other. Give the angsty bitch a mercenary outfit to tackle the furfag who blew up her species, then turn around and sell him some "state of the art ships" in exchange for his preexisting ships. Of course, the "state of the art ships" will be faulty pieces of shit little better than nicely ornamented tin cans.

I suggest taking the jew route because, as you seem to be at something of a power disadvantage, you're going to want to avoid direct confrontation with the other players (at least to begin with). It provides a way of accumulating power without ruffling too many feathers, and it gives everyone else something of a false sense of security regarding you. "Sure, he might be a greedy self-interested bastard, but I can trust him because, so long as I buy his shit, he's making money."

And if you do, I suggest you go the Star Forge route rather than any kind of Death Star shenanigans. A station which basically hoovers up the matter of a star and weaves it into mass produced fleets of large AI controlled starships, catalysed by the consumption of a few powerful psychics once in a while (Also meshes with the whole psychic vampire thing, giving added believability that this is your main plan, regardless of whether it is)

A shell fired at relativistic speeds.

Because it's traveling at a significant percent of c, it's effectively undetectable until it's too late. Additionally, because of how fast it is going, even if you do detect it, any countermeasures would be futile.

When it hits a planet, or space station, or anything, it hits with a tremendous amount of force. A R-bomb hitting a planet is an extinction event of "oh god, the ocean is boiling" proportions.

regular explosives usually don't work at relativistic speeds due to requiring extreme computing accuracy for the detonation

However if you use a missile thats a magnetic container filled with anti-matter shouldn't it annihilate upon the destructive impact of a relativistic weapon and cause an explosion of insane proportions?

that would imho make for a fitting superweapon

Do both. Start out slow, play the banker in the populated galaxies, creeping star forges in the others. Except when you place the star forges, strap engines and FTL to the planets in the star system, and point them at someone elses homeworld. Keep doing this, and do it for every single planet and system. The star gets used for resources, the planets get used as Relativistic Kill Vehicles.

Sure, they'll take ages to get there, but they're fire-and-forget weapons. Get busy with your other schemes, and even if they manage to defeat you, a few centuries later, BAMPF, a planetary body at .9c smacks into their system and annihilates them all.

    >>13493606
This is a good idea. I might use this

But in between this and Star Forge, there's a lot of space.

Anything else I can use to get enough resources to start making superweapons?

Maybe I start a war between two powers, and sell weapons to both sides. Using my influence, I could extend the war for so long that both sides go bankrupt, and have to sell much of their territory to me to keep buying weapons.

Eventually I own enough of each side I'm a superpower in my own right. Then I convince some other power, one that has influence over the PCs, to come in and conquer the now weakened nations, asking for a title or rank, depending on their government, for assisting them. Then I can force the PCs into working for me using my power in THEIR government. And send them on suicide missions, which if successful will give me even more power.

Anyone think that might work? Or am I not thinking about this right?

    There's no point.

Incorrect. If you accelerate a tank up to 100 miles per hour over a 10 minute drive using a diesel engine, do you think you can shield a building using the same diesel engine from the impact that happens within less than 2 seconds?

You can't output the same amount of energy from any power source in a massively faster timeframe.

Even if you assume a planetary shield of some sort, 1.5 kilograms of antimatter will only yield a 64.3 Mt blast.

Whereas 1 kilogram of anything traveling at 99% c will have a yield of 132 Mt. Less mass, and over twice the amount of bang. The same 1 kilo at 99.9% c becomes 454 Mt, and at 99.99% c becomes 1.5 Gt.

Instead of going through the trouble to make antimatter, you'd be better off just making the mass of the R-bomb larger.

    We have three basic options:
    1. It passes through, as it's stronger than the shield.

    3. The shield holds, the planet is hit at an angle and now it is spinning a couple times faster than it was before.

This is all awesome so far. Here's some other, more minor ways to be an awesome BBEG:

Every time you meet with someone, do by sending some sort of fancy robot body. Make it different every time. Of course your brain is actually light-years away, and the body is equipped with high explosives, (or chambers filled with potent neurotoxin, or a designer plague, or possibly all of the above) just in case anyone feels like "tampering" with it. If there's FTL communication in this setting, you can "drive" it directly; otherwise, just say you upload a copy of your cortical stack to each diplomat droid so it behaves exactly like you, then re-sync with it whenever it returns (and if it doesn't, you can be content that who ever stopped its return is dying in horrible, horrible agony.)

Going off that, don't be LOL EVIL EMPEROR I WILL CONTROL THE GALAXY. What's your motivation? Given what you've said, a good motivation would be the classic Lawful Evil: "Look at the galaxies," you say. "Look at all these people (and I use the term lightly) that are in control. Are they really the sort of rulers that the galaxies need in order to prosper? Of course they aren't. So I'm going to unite them all, for their own good." Possibly include some far-future prediction involving the death of the universe that only your massive intelligence and the united effort of every galaxy can save us from.

Be fair, but cruel. Don't just kill for fun, or even to "set an example." Reward competence and obedience justly, be merciful to those whose failures are minor, but ruthlessly and utterly destroy anyone who defies you without a shred of mercy.

THIS is the sort of BBEG people remember. Pic kind of related.

However I could see anti matter rounds being useful in situations where the usage of relativistic rounds is difficult if not impossible. Its likely a space ship will not be able to accelerate its projectiles to substantial fractions of c and if it did they would simply pierce the ship instead of inflicting serious damage whereas an anti matter round partially penetrating an opposing ship would deal a fuckload of damage

Putting a R-weapon on a spaceship is probably a no go because of energy requirements. It might be doable on larger capital ships, but, in that case, you wouldn't be using standard R-bombs. It'd be better to essentially make a R-shotgun that fires sand. Instead of one hole in the enemy ship, you now have a shit ton of holes. Each one of those holes is now leaking air, and, potentially, damages important pieces of equipment / people.

If I might. Op, here's the thing.

    You're dealing with faggots.

The thing you want to avoid, MOST OF ALL, is any impression that you might be out to harsh their mary sue buzz. Don't talk weapons unless THEY start pulling shit first, or you might start to look like a bad guy. In their beady little mary sue eyes, you're conspicuously NOT a mary sue, and are therefore automatically suspect.

Instead, here's what you do. You position yourself as a geek with a hardon for space colonization. The kind of fag who tears up at rocket launches. It helps if you are that kind of fag (as I am), but even if not, it's a believable OOC cover story.

Ask your dm, when you send a colony ship to an uninhabited planet, how long before that planet can send colony ships of its own. If the DM wants to handle colonization, it'll be a sizable time period, but not a crazy one. You're a robot, you don't need to worry about people growing up. Your production is your production.

Then, start pumping out colony ships as fast as you can. Three planets, three new planets per turn. Eventually, your new planets per turn will itself start growing by three per turn. Then you've won.

All the while, put a god damn smile on your face and never take it off. Be friendly, and engaging. Humor their furfaggotry shit. If at least one of your colonies is up and running and the mary sue wants to blow up your home planet, probably as some kind of ego trip, smile sadly and let them. But mark that player.

He will be the first to die.

It really doesn't matter what tech you use. With a 5 trillion world playing field, if you colonize faster and farther than they can, you can use fucking blowguns and rose petals and still overwhelm their armies. It's a good thing they're all mary sues, because they're going to need all the bullshit "my psychic powers BLOW UP half your battleships!" cards they can find.

And the best thing? It will have been a fair fight.

That was my thought. Your criticism, sir, has inspired me. We litterally make our defensive system a newton's cradle. Imagine this.

    Shield B - Satellite A - Planet - Satellite B - Shield A

Shields are generated on the opposite side of the planet from the generator, then linked together. Thus if struck in shield A, both shields blink off long enough for the generator (satellite A) to zoom off at relativistic speeds away from the homeworld. Backup generator then kicks on. A network like that would be pretty hard to overcome without waisting silly amounts of resources sending several objects at relativistic speeds in the same direction. Or an orbit-wide EMP blast.

PROTIP: use a super massive central blackhole of a galaxy, to reach the relativistic speed of 99,99 % c, by introducing R bombs to the disk around the black hole (of course, you will need some serious shielding for them).
You could give FTL drives to the R bombs, and if they keep their initial speeds, when entering hiper space or whatever, they can auto-descend anywhere. If a big mass pulls them out of FTL, even better. Aim for a planet...they'll never knew what hit them!

While inherently lulzy, you could set the virus to switch off to opera music, ala Mars Attacks.

Use this as a distraction while your real plans are going off. In fact, you could use this to set up clone-controled proxies, such as governmental parties and corporations, as well-loved protectors of the people. The clones offer to protect the population while the players exterminate the remaining zombies. This has the added effect of the players trusting your proxies, enabling you to backstab them.

    Right.

Also, what if I modify some of my clones, so they can Shapeshift, and have psychic powers of their own?

That would be brilliant, because then I could have them infiltrate a nation, maybe get high up in their government, and feed me information. All while training mind-controlled domestic terrorists to take out military targets at my command.

One of the clones might even become a general, or something, and lead his army into a trap.

The PCs might find one and have to free all the people, not knowing that they have been programmed to play along and betray them when it is most beneficial to me.

After they've been brainwashed, I have them rebuild their lives, make each world a Utopia, free from crime, disease, or want. That will make the Mary Sues seem like giant dicks when they come to 'liberate' the planet. It would be even more hilarious if one of the PC's friends or lovers was trapped on the planet and brainwashed along with the others, and when the PC returns to free him or her, he/she doesn't want to be free, trying to explain that his/her life is perfect now as the PCs try to unbrainwash him/her.

Turn your citizens into a unified psychic engine! Do stuff! Like...

-Create the Warp, put the PCs in it
-Kill everyone else in the universe
    -Make the other galaxies collide
-Send the PCs, via wormhole, to another universe
    -Conquer the entire universe
-Use wormholes to conquer other universes
-Become a god, toy with the PCs until you get bored
-Reduce the PCs to below-average stats and power
-Do nothing, because at this point you have won the game
