You ready your subjects, dressing them in shelled armor reinforced with bits of IRON. Your forty-seven Coven members follow closely behind you.

You head south, and after an hour of scuttling, you come upon a large valley. From here you can see several caves. All of which would be perfect for the cowardly squid to hide in. There are four caves here, three on the left side of the valley and one on the right. Various rocks and clumps of seaweed create interesting terrain, and you can see massive whale-bones in the sand.

You send out some pistol shrimp to scout the caves. You watch from the ridge as they cautiously enter, slipping in unnoticed.

Suddenly, a cry erupts from one of the caves on the left, and you see your shrimp scuttle frantically away, firing over their shoulders. Three squid, their twenty foot long red bodies shimmering, swim out of the cave. You see two others exit from another cave on the left, and one more come from the cave on the right.

Two of your shrimp are scooped up and devoured, the rest are taking cover in the seaweed and rocks.

You cast MIRACULOUS HEAL on the whale, resuscitating it and giving it strength.

    Willpower: 160/180

The whale is then able to lead you to his clan. A large, grizzly looking whale, alabaster in color, appears to be the leader. Scars and wounds from harpoons and squid mar his face, and he wishes to know what business you have here.

You explain your intent, saying you saved one of his subjects from sure death, and are at war with the squid. You desire an alliance, mentioning the surface-people. The whale chief seems to bristle at the mention of them, it is clear he has no love for the squishy beings. However, he is not entirely willing to jump into an alliance with your people. His subject does indeed owe you his life, but that is not his problem.

You cast GLORY, making yourself even more persuasive. The old whale is impressed, needless to say. He says he may lend you assistance when needed, but will not completely submit to your whims. He comes from a proud and powerful race, so this seems the best offer you can hope for at the moment.

He says there are multiple habitats for squid in the area, including the fabled location of the original Kraken, forefather to the one you slew in your infantile stage.

You order your troops to hold, and fire a volley into the two sentries. They are grievously wounded, one dies outright. Your warriors charge, along with the whales, as more enormous squid pour out of the caves. There are at least twelve squid here. The whales tear into four of them, engaging in deadly combat. Your men are being charged!

You open your claw, scuttling powerful in a circle. Your POWERFUL LEGS create a massive current around you, and squid are drawn in by your whirlpool. You clack and slash your claw, dicing squid with reckless abandon. A couple are drawn into your crushing jaws, meeting an ignoble end in your maw.

When the sand settles, the remaining squid lay dead. Blood and ink dirty the water, and the whales stand in awe of your power, dead squid hanging from their slackened jaws.
