-you can suggest build projects, schematic requests for additional technology projects, specialised personel to get the project completed faster.

    - it has become custom to post under a colonist name that states the ocupation of said character in the name field eg ( P.j lewis Ops specialist tactical annalisis)

    - the more interaction you have with the rest of the colonists playing the more it will influence the outcome of the events.

"G'damnit. need that colony ship. I need at least a dozen more miners and general haulers on my staff. We just hit that underground iced over aquifer. Maybe... Just maybe.... I could make a few suggestions."

*****Request - Using our new production methods available with the Engineering facility as well as our Smelter/foundry and mining operation, I humbly request that we construct a modern, up to date space port approximatly one mile from central base to our east. Said port should be large enough to fit at least three large vessels, as well as having the space for repairs, refits, and a communications tower with the most advanced sensor suite that Fleet can provide us.

Connection to main base should be handled with an underground quarintine area, as well as free-trade depot.

    ***** End request.

Side note - Expansion of our ability to both maintain spacecraft and house them would allow free traders dealing in ore and minerals to visit us in greater quantities. With our distance from Sol, this could provide an excellent means of profit for the entire colony.

    Entry #123:4.24.04:55
I was on my way back from the mess hall with some reconstituted grub and a flask of water when I noticed something moving down in one of the dead end passages we use to store some of the excess equipment. It was about the size of a dog, although it looked more like lizard then anything. I found it odd since none of the colonists I remember have pets.
I followed it down to the end of the tunnel where I lost it amongst a pile of crates. Making a note to look into that later when there was buzz and a shower of sparks. The emergency blast door for the section slammed shut in front of me and the red emergency lights came on. I must have fallen over in the dark as I blacked out for several minutes. I've tried the override panel, but the thing is shot to hell.
I've attemped to hail anyone on the comm channels, but no luck so far. Although I am still recieving chatter on my end, it appears that my in-suit mic is also out. It must have fallen loose when I fell earlier.
At least I have some food with me.
    Entry #124:4.24.11.37
Resigned to my current predicament, I spend my time listening in on what was going. It looks like something's got the whole colony in an uproar. Knowing our luck, its an asteroid on a collision course with the colony.

Just ran out of food and water isn't looking any better. At least the tunnels are being supplied with recycled oxygen from the vents. Maybe that's how the lizard I saw earlier gets around. - a collossal shape appears in the sky as the inter system cargo hauler breakes atmosphere, you can hear the rumbling thunder as it engages its plain air thrusters to stabalise its entry.

it swerves over the colony in a slow ark then gently lowers down onto the large spacedock, the landing procedure looks extremely well practiced.

I would stay up all night in my glorious new mechanical domain. But the shift is up, and for now there's not much to do - the lines are still doing stress testing before production starts. I've put a bunkroom in the bot lab, so I'll retire for now

(OOC I've got work tomorrow, so I may not be on much til later. Don't let the robots die out while I'm gone)

I love it how the civilian ships are distinct from the old military ones. Nice work and design.

Hope this game gets some new players to replace the causalities.... er sleepyheads.

(OOC thanks yeah i wanted a distinct feel to the universe and its inhabitant technologies, the idea for me was that all military tech is reliable and very hardy especialy the colonist rigs, however they arnt very preety.
on the other side of the coin the civilian ships have a different development, they are sleek.
Newer colonist or fleet colony ships are designed to be able to flip up and become large building structures to be used by a functioning society.

(I know my character is still unconscious at the moment, but I'd like to recommend the construction of above ground, concrete (or other appropriate material) roads for more efficient transportation between our storage facilities, various industrial compounds, and the spaceport. This should up transport efficiency of goods when the port becomes really busy, and make the mechanics happier as they won't have to clean out dust as often from the buggies' axles and gears.)

(Speaking of transport vehicles, think we can get something bigger and has larger cargo space than the 4-seater luggage buggies for goods transport?)

With our increase in traffic and new space port, I believe that new base defenses and a long range radar are require for the safety of the base. I put on my recommendation to being building as soon as possible.

i just read 5 full threads and have been truly amazed by this style of thread.
It seems to work so well because there is interaction by the DM, visual ques and hints at a larger universe, player created content, interweaving storylines and character plots that seem to somehow interwind with massive story arcs as if rehearsed but its not rehearsed.

    Best thread in years.

If you think these are cool, you should also look at the original threads the OP made. They're under the moniker: Village Quest 1-3. They are all under Sup/tg/.
