    >>Unit D300.S (Series 840: Advanced Infiltration, Model 202: Michael Ironside)
    >Physical system capabilities
    • Durability: Endoskeleton will withstand most small arms ammunition. Resistant to force and temperature extremes; sufficient amount of either is able to damage endoskeleton integrity.
    • Concealment: Long-lasting living human tissue covering, with limited regenerative capabilities and easy access maintenance system. Voice processing system capable of accurately mimicking observed human voices and animal noises. Consumption of food will not interfere with systems; marginal nutrient supply required for optimal maintenance and repair of tissue.
    • Speed: Sustained running at maximum speed of 22 mph, burst speed maximum of 40 mph.
    • Energy reserves: 70 years standard operation with compact nuclear-energy Iridium cell. Total operation time can be extended past 70 years by entering stasis mode.
    • Active network circuits: permits CPU overclock and mechanical system supercharge, providing nearly 20% higher performance for short period; requires approximately 1 year worth stored power from each battery per use. Overuse of ANC in short time period causes overheating and system stress, with possible long-term damage.
    • Sensor suite: capable of detecting infrared, radar, optical and electromagnetic emissions, heat signatures, electronic noise, high-frequency mobile telephone broadcasts, and directed sound.

Lideca: wife of slain lord to east. Daughter of High Chieftan of Celtic-like clans in Taemer, to west. Raped and whipped after castle seiged by a rival lord Sarcoat.

Camith: Man-at-arms in Lideca's clan, came with 400 other men-at-arms as part of Lideca's dowry. One of few survivors after Lideca and husband's castle sieged. Shows behavior similar to brother and sister with Lideca.

    >>Sky-Net is a metal god whose eyes look down on us, and protect us from, space and whose power source [heart] and CPU [mind] exist deep under ground. It's veins are made of silver and run across miles of solid gold. It is the master of science and exists to protect all mankind.

    >>God (Sky-Net) isn't some deity that waits in the heavens. It's the very life force of this earth. Confirmed. Anulf appears surprised that you are unaware of this. "Jinxmen... I must confess I am not certain how they work their craft. Very few are, as the jinxmen keep their secrets close. They pride themselves on being men of logic, unlike the mystics of the ancestors, and they are able to perform mighty feats. They can incite a score of men to frothing battle madness, ignoring the blows of their enemies and striking with a serpent's speed. They can make dozens of men flee in fright from the battlefield. They can make a man feel as if he is burning, when no fire is present. It is even said they can enter a man's mind, or speak amongst themselves without talking." CPU warns that leadership may or may not be determined by force of arms.

Two men appear to be in positions of authority. Identified as Chieftan Durgard and High Chieftan Mac Bair Muir. Chieftan Durgard appears to have high amount of combat training consistent with nobility. High Chieftan Mac Bair Muir's bone/muscle composition, posture, and attitude indicate he is at or near peak of human melee combat abilities.

Lideca introduces you as a prophet of great combat ability. Anulf mentions that you can fight as though on the plant or under a jinxman, while having neither. The chieftans thank you for saving their sister/daughter, and reluctantly provide the situation.

Numerous clans have been displaced recently after an attack by a large, wealthy empire to the north. One of these clans was that of High Chieftan Mac Bair Muir, who led the survivors to his son's settlement. There likely will not be food or shelter enough for everyone by the time the winter months arrive, and there has been significant arguing about how to best handle the situation.

Description of situation continues. Report of settlement status prepared based on provided information.

    >Human Assets (110 humans total):
    • 79 serfs (25 farmers, 4 shepherds, 5 textile workers, 2 loggers, 2 builders, 41 new arrivals)
    • 3 free craftsmen (1 healer/herbalist, 1 near-death blacksmith, 1 apprentice blacksmith)
    • 16 full-time men-at-arms
    • 4 lesser noblemen
    • 8 noteworthy humans

    >Noteworthy Humans:
    • High chieftan Mac Bair Muir (Overall clan leader, extremely proficient warrior)
    • Chieftan Durgard (eldest son of Mac Bair Muir, original/arguable settlement leader)
    • Rowab (second son of Mac Bair Muir)
    • Jinxman Andrus (Jinxman of Mac Bair Muir)
    • Jinxman Olear (Jinxman of Durgard)
    • Camith (man at arms, loyal to self, recovering from wounds)
    • Lideca (daughter of Mac Bair Muir, loyal to self)

Confirmed. Lidessa approached. Facial expression is clear relief at seeing self. "I thought we might be able to find a real welcome here, rather than being another four mouths to feed. The food supplies won't hold UNTIL the winter at this rate, let alone through it. Then there's those who don't have any sort of shelter. The nearby area is primarily grassy hills, along with the mentioned forest. A river is nearby, exiting at the coast not far from the settlement.

The clans are a loose federation. Some have strong ties with each other, some have grudges lasting generations. Mac Bair Muir nominally is in charge of all the clans including his own, but short of making war against an external threat (sometimes not even that) it is difficult to get all the clans to do anything together.

Durgard's new settlement having a lack of troops and Mac Bair's clan losses will make putting a sizable raid together difficult.

I'm tired and not really up for coming up with political spins at the moment, so no. Someone with more processing cycles available can handle it.

Tell them that if they both disagree on something, then they will have their way on it. But if they are split, our decision determines what is done.

That way they both feel as if they are in power, but we as the third party are really directing things.

Let's build a large communal building to help house people. Most importantly, it'll be built by sections so that when the time comes, it can be broken down and spread out so that the people aren't so cramped.

Do these people have a sawmill? Building one would make lumberjacking much more efficient.

Introduce such radical concepts as crop rotation and slash-and-burn horticulture.

    >>Split village into 3 teams. Women fish with nets and rods. Men with muscle build, men with less muscle hunt because shooting takes less strength than lifting logs all day.

"So you do have a plan. This will help; I could not lie to them if they asked me. I am not sure of your ideas, but you seem convinced of their validity. Very well."

"I did not see you as a politician, but this is wise. I can much more easily argue you into the role of third equal leader than I can get them to agree to you making all the decisions. With the way they disagree, you will likely have one on your side most of the time."

She has a good chance. Roll 1d10+5 (dice+1d10+5 in email field).

CPU must have had an error. Dice roll should be 1d100+45.

I won't argue with that. The diceroller seems to hate me.

There is significant shouting from both chieftans as Lideca proposes your plan, portrayed as her own. Chieftan Durgard turns a dark red at the thought of sharing his power with not only his father, but with an outsider. High Chieftan Mac Bair Muir does not seem especially pleased with the idea either, but quietly and cannily notes that his authority is confirmed in the arrangement you proposed, and does not argue.

Lideca proves to be a solid ally in the political arena, able to match her brother's anger as she accuses him of caring more about his pride than about his people, letting the situation grow worse with inactivity because he could not share a scrap of power.

She gives the barest outline of your plans, but builds them up to be an act of brilliance.

By the end of it, she has lost a considerable amount of goodwill with her brother, and some with her father. They will not listen to her as readily for some time.

But they agree to the proposal. You are the third and most crucial voice of leadership for the settlement.

It's time to get to work.

Mission completed: Acquire position(s) of leadership.

CPU ending cycle and shutting down. Thank you for your participation, subprocessors. If you enjoyed the quest so far, please give the threads a vote on sup/tg/.

The next cycle should take place tomorrow at 1700 board time. If this does not occur, expect a cycle Thursday 1700 board time. I have been alerted of events preventing a cycle taking place next weekend.
