    125 KB PRIMARCH QUEST PART 4 Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)22:24 No.8866464
    Last Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/8846702/

You are Rachnus Rageous, Primarch of the II Legion, the Desert Fangs. You are a Null, as are a good portion of your marines, and at the moment, you and your brother Alpharius are plummeting to the rebel planet below in the bowels of your personal Thunderhawk, accompanied by your childhood friend Fal and five hundred of your Silencers in trailing Thunderhawks. The denizens of the planet are suspected of sorcery, and you and your Silencers are, in coordination with Alpha Legion, attempting to land near the capital, tunnel beneath it to its power source, and disable it, leaving the defenders helpless.

Pic related, what one of your average tactical squad marines looks like.

Weren't we also going to distract them with a fake frontal assault?
    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/29/10(Mon)22:36 No.8866699

Yes, as I recall that was going to be ALpha Legion's job.

As the Thunderhawk enters the planet's atmosphere, the ship begins to shake - Nothing unusual, but unnerving all the same, knowing that if something were to go wrong, there's no way you'd be able to influence your fate. Alpharius grins at you, as Fal pulls on his helmet.
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)22:38 No.8866750
Righto. Sounds good. Do we have Silencers placed with every squad in order to ensure encrypted communications?
    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/29/10(Mon)22:43 No.8866831

You've got 500+ Silencers preparing to deploy on the planet's surface, I think it's a safe bet you'll have enough for just about anything.

You can feel the turbulence declining, as the Thunderhawk prepares to land. Within half a minute, the ship has settled down in the deployment zone, and you can hear the other gunships landing nearby. Unstrapping himself, Alpharius stands up and punches in the code to open the rear bay doors. As the ramp descends, Alpharius motions to you and Fal to follow him.
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)22:44 No.8866846
Have we leaked our 'plan' outside of silencer range yet?

Check with Alpharius about when his men will strike, then let's see about getting our men ready to SPIDER TUNNEL.
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)22:48 No.8866927
Alright, once we get it ironed out with the men, motion for Alpharius to move with us away from the silencers, and talk about a frontal assault in a low whisper.
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)22:49 No.8866953
    We're also a null, derp.

Send Alpharius off to inspire the men by discussing our valiant frontal assault that's due to start any minute now.
    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/29/10(Mon)22:50 No.8866980

You follow Alpharius down the ramp, where an Alpha Legionnaire with black armor is awaiting you. Your brother turns to you at the base of the ramp. "So, Rachnus, where do you need my men and I to begin our assault?"
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)22:56 No.8867077
What's the disposition of the enemy forces? We need to hit somewhere that we would actually normally attack. Like a weak point or vital power plant. Make talk as if our own Legion is getting ready to reinforce the assault, then burrow and attack the place they pull forces from in response.
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)22:56 No.8867079
How can someone even hope to accurately make role playing decisions equal to that of a Primarch. They are perfect in every way, direct clones of the Emperor himself.
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)22:56 No.8867090

I thought Alpha Legion's colors were blue and green.
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)22:57 No.8867112
Alpha Legion changes their colors as necessary. Omegon's team, the Effrit Stealth Squad wears all black, for example. So the Legionnaire we see now is either Omegon or one of the men in his team.
    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/29/10(Mon)23:00 No.8867176

Except for, you know, THE ENTIRE HERESY. That's the whole point - They were just as fallible as your average Imperial Citizen, they just had access to a lot more knowledge and power.

The marine in black hands Alpharius a map of the city, which he displays to you. "There appears to be a rail-line leading out of the city - It's a weak point in their walls. We'll attack there, which should hopefully distract them enough for your ruse to succeed."
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)23:02 No.8867220

As you say brother, anything else you need?
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)23:03 No.8867231
Sounds good. Now as long as he's ready to capatalize on our success as soon as their center of power falls, everything should be fine.
    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/29/10(Mon)23:04 No.8867251

He nods. "I'm going to need 20 or so of your SIlencers, brother. One for each of my squads, you see."
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)23:05 No.8867263
    Whatever works.

(Of course, now that they've worked with the Alpha Legion we will never be able to completely trust those marines again, ahaha.)

Alpharius nods, and directs the black-suited marine to gather the nearest 20 Silencers, as he strides off through the trees surrounding the landing zone - Towards his own Legion's base, presumably. As he disappears, the black-clad marine and 20 of your Silencers following him, Fal joins you at your side.

"The augmented Sandlegs are ready, lord. How many squads, and of what size, do you require for the assault?"
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)23:09 No.8867343
Now that we've been on campaign with the Alpha Legion there's no one in our Legion that we'll ever be able to trust again, including ourselves. Cost of doing business I suppose.
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)23:09 No.8867346
Easily done. Do we have any of our normal marines ready to pour through the tunnels with us, btw? I'd feel better if we weren't betting our entire Null force on this.
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)23:11 No.8867366

We need to send in our silencers ahead of the sandlegs, keep them in close reserve.
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)23:11 No.8867372
Say half a dozen Assault Squads, half a dozen Tactical, and 3-5 Silencer veteran squads. Make sure to have plenty of melta bombs/guns and blasting equipment.

    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)23:16 No.8867465
can we get an idea of our forces over all?
as in how many taticals do we have on our battle barge at any one time?
how many dreds, tanks, vets, termies, etc
    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/29/10(Mon)23:18 No.8867490

Well, at the moment, you have 480 Silencers, a good number of Tunneling-augmented Sandlegs, and essentially whatever weaponry a regular power-armored marine could wield.
    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/29/10(Mon)23:19 No.8867510

That's just on the ground - Obviously your battle-barge contains more than 500 marines, equipment and giant spiders, but you don't have access to what's up there currently.
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)23:21 No.8867556
well in that case it sounds like we can bring an honor guard of about 8 silencers, but not the best tho, we should keep the best for leading the squads.
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)23:22 No.8867573
Alright. Split every tunneler into pairs. Then evenly divide our entire force between each pair. A third of the division advances directly behind the Sandlegs while the rest linger back a ways in case the tunnels collapse while we burrow. Just before we break free, the other guys move up and then we bum rush them en mass.
    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/29/10(Mon)23:23 No.8867601

Fal nods. "Shall I accompany you, or lead one of the back-up squads?"
    >> Anonymous 03/29/10(Mon)23:23 No.8867610

Fal, I trust you lead. Pick your squad.

    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/29/10(Mon)23:27 No.8867680

He nods, and begins relaying the orders to the marines. Within minutes, 15 10-man squads, each with its own burrowing Sandleg, are assembled at the edge of the treeline closest to the capital, with a sixteenth squad accompanying you and another Sandleg. As one, the spiders begin to burrow, and within minutes, the sixteen squads have vanished, the beasts of burden digging rapidly towards the city's underbelly.

As the Sandlegs continue to tunnel, there's not much for you to do but follow the arachnids and wait. From above, you can detect the tremors of heavy artillery peppering the city, but there's no sign that you've been detected yet. Your honor guard remains silent, periodically checking their bolters to make sure they're in full working order.

Unfortunately, you cannot. Thankfully, that means that whatever daemons you may encounter are going to have difficulties gaining control over you.

Finally, you round a bend, and are greeted by a large room. You can see the corpses of strange, multifaced creatures lying on the floor, which seem to be dissolving. Standing in the center of the room is a squad of black-clad Alpha Legionnaires, led by the Legionnaire that was waiting for Alpharius upon arrival.

    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/30/10(Tue)00:35 No.8868897
So, do you wish to team up with this Alpha Legion squad, or split up and head for the city center seperately?
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:35 No.8868898

    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:35 No.8868909
Alpharius is fine; if anyone can out-just as planned a greater daemon of Tzeentch, it's him.

Ask Omegon if he can direct us towards the center of the sorcerous disturbances.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:36 No.8868917
Why can't we be sure? They aren't burning in our presence and we know the Alpha Legion is a bunch of sneaky bastards. And all of our Silencers are DOWN HERE. WITH US. There's only five hundred in the whole Legion and we only sent 20 with Alpharius to secure communications.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:36 No.8868918
Split up. Tell them to hit targets of opportunity and raise hell. Get our strike teams moving
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:37 No.8868943
We only brought 16 squads total with us. Even if their all silencers that leaves ~340 with the alpha legion forces
    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/30/10(Tue)00:38 No.8868963

He nods, and the Alpha Legion squad heads down another corridor, as you and the 160 Nulls you have down here with you continue on towards the city center. As you draw closer to the target, the light in the corridors seems to be pulsing more and more noticeably, almost like a heartbeat.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:39 No.8868985
    Bah. Alright.

Bring them with us. Let one of Alpharius' men see first hand our might.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:40 No.8869001
...or not. Well, why'd you stop typing? Not like there's anything to do except keep going.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:41 No.8869021
Crap. I just realized that with our entire strike team being made up of nulls the enemy can probably track us by the massive area around us that can't be sensed through the warp. O well, too late now
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:42 No.8869035
Have the marines ready to fan out if/when we hit a big room ahead.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:42 No.8869042
Yep, just make sure everyone is still alert and ready and keep going
    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/30/10(Tue)00:44 No.8869077

Finally, you round a corner, and before you lies a massive cavern, at least two miles in diameter. At the center, you can see what looks like a vast, pulsating heart, blue fire arcing across its surface. However... Standing between you and it is a vast swarm of gibbering creatures of every shape and color, constantly changing forms and hues.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:45 No.8869094
Aw. How cute. They think they can stop us.

    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:46 No.8869115
    Introduce them to our bolters.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:46 No.8869118
    They're Tzeench demons, arnt they?
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:47 No.8869126
Yep, SURPRISE FUCKERS!. Maximum firepower , hit hard and keep moving, don't let these warp abominations slow us down
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:47 No.8869128
Well that's the source of the warp energy on this world.

Shut that down and Alpharius will have an easier time of it.

Then again, this thing may be shackling the daemons against their will. Wouldn't it be amazing if they figured out tech to control the daemons?
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:48 No.8869157

We're close combat specialists. Have the tactical squads set up positions along the walls and start firing. Then charge into the breach with your assault marines and sandlegs.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:50 No.8869192
Get into close combat, see what those null fields do.
    >> That Motherfucking Goblin !XGZ8nDwSYI 03/30/10(Tue)00:53 No.8869248

As your men call out their warcry, the creatures shriek something as well, in a language not meant for the ears of men, as they charge forward towards you. However, once they come within ten meters of you and your SIlencers, they stop in their tracks, hissing and shrieking furiously, as those closest to you begin to melt.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:54 No.8869277
Woohoo, keep pushing towards the heart. Direct our firepower to break up any formations of the creatures before they can reach our lines
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:54 No.8869281
Oh daemons, never change. Have the jet pack squads jump over the front ranks and into the middle of them. Accelerate their deaths and run through them.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)00:55 No.8869290

Someone, please archive this, and we'll resume on the morrow.

    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)01:01 No.8869403
    Aww, no more?
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)01:02 No.8869429
Also, we need to become Bros with legion 11 ASAP. Seeing as how they are also a lost legion. But will they end up as friend or foe?
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)01:05 No.8869465
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)01:06 No.8869476
But clearly we are not a lost legion, we're just waiting for the right moment to shout "Surprise Fuckers!" and strike the enemies of the Imperium from ambush. And with 10,000 years to prepare, it's going to be a heck of an ambush
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)01:10 No.8869527

I would imagine they'll be on the opposite end of the Heresy as us.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)01:13 No.8869567
That just makes it all the more tragic! And our secret doctrine will remember our former history with them, and out of respect for the past we will avoid conflict with them as much as we can.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)01:15 No.8869589

In the last thread, when we had that flashback with Maloris telling us about the future... What was he talking about when he mentioned a difficult decision ahead, or whatever? I mean, if we have to choose between the Emprah and Chaos, that's not a hard choice - We couldn't go over to Chaos if we wanted to.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)01:15 No.8869598
I think we might have some problems with 'Necron heresy' in the lower ranks. Given the fact that the null gene was introduced by the Necrons, they might set designs on us as their advanced force. Of course they won't succeed.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)01:16 No.8869613

    Yeah, I've noticed a common thread with gobbo's quests - nulls/null-based tech + warp = angry, pissed-off daemons.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)01:19 No.8869657
It most likely has to do with the fate of the human race race as a whole. And weather our closest non-Null allies turn to chaos.

    Like our bro Alpharius.
    >> Anonymous 03/30/10(Tue)01:22 No.8869714

Wouldn't we be closer to Horus, given that we were the second Primarch to be found (Assuming our legion number corresponds to the order in which we were found, at any rate.)
