02/01/10(Mon)15:42 No.7875720Your spirit is back, and from its breezy form swirls a long-dreamt-of voice that makes your unbeating heart ache in memory, even caught off guard while speaking of other topics. "-sword. I- what? Are you- honey, are you there?" A murmur of voices fills the spirit for a moment, interrupting one another so much that for a moment you can't hear anything; everyone at his table must be chiming in. "If you're here, just come in now! But... fine. Tomorrow, I'll meet you just outside town."
The spirit fills once again with the murmur of voices; the people with him are arguing against his going alone to face what they expect to be a dangerous monster. He doesn't seem to be particularly stubborn on the point; he may or may not show up alone. You tell the air spirit to return to the inn and listen in further, while remaining as unobtrusive as possible. It feels untrusting, but... this is a matter on which a little distrust is warranted, you think.
>>7875473 With that done... you'll need someplace to run, if he does try to kill you. Getting to where the sprites are waiting outside of town is the work of moments, and you quickly instruct them to find likely places in the wilderness- cliffs, ravines, whatever- and work with the earth spirits to create collapsible tunnels leading to them, concealing the entrances with vegetation. The tunnels should lead to inconspicuous places in town, such as abandoned buildings, if possible, and to slightly outside of town if not. They bow and promise to see it done.
You consider summoning more servants in preparation for the morrow, or calling others here- the faelings, perhaps. If you want the slower-moving ones to arrive in time, they'll have to begin traveling before you next go to sleep. If you go back to the mansion to summon more servants, it'll probably be most of the night before you can come back here, if you have time at all.
What should you do? |
