Last time, you escaped from Skarem's Charizard and gained a few levels in the process. You're currently hiding in a tower in Hoenn's desert at night with Sarina, Courtney, and two True Magma grunts.
    What do?

We just cut from hanging out with Courtney to being in a Tower in a desert.

Quest 15 is archived. What happened before then is: you tried to sneak into Mauville, and Porygon-Z tried to stop you. It was noticeably angrier this time, ending its statements by saying that you had no chance of defeating it. "I am perfection. I am the very best."
Then you went into Mauville where one of the mysterious Pawns stopped you before you entered the city, preventing you from being blown up by the generator exploding; something around that time made Z extremely angry. Then, you went into the city and snuck through before being confronted by a pair of grunts; it continues in thread 15.

    So, right now:
Fake magma is on our asses for being in Mauville when generator go blowy.
This includes Skarem, a dude with a pretty goddamn powerful Charizard who is most likely related to the player character charmeleon.
Aqua dislikes us due to Porygon-Z sabotage
Galactic dislikes us due to Porygon-Z sabotage
Team rocket are tools who hate everyone
Porygon-Z is being a super duper douchebag
Daybreak dislikes us due to us travelling with a Nightfall member.

...Gonna need a new identify imo.

Oh. ... well, being in a tower in a desert at night will offer us some shelter from the heat come day, but I get the feeling we'll be trapped in it.

    You have 1 Charmeleon, 1 Snover, 1 Magnemite, 1 Sableye, 1 Seviper, 1 Sarina, 1 Courney and 2 Grunts.
What are Sarina, Courtney, and the Grunts currently equipped with?

I hope someone around here has dig or something because this tower can and WILL become our tomb if we can't find some way to sneak out of it.

I say we have Magnemite keep watch over the windows higher up to warn us if Skarem tries to sneak in through them, and to keep a watch on our surroundings outside the tower. In the meantime, we investigate the tower.

    Anyone else have opinions/ideas?

From what I can tell, someone wanted to scout outside the tower to see if Skarem was still there and up to something. Some wanted to assess our resources before we attempted anything, which was smart imo. I suggested we ask Magnemite to keep watch over the windows while we investigate the inside of the tower. We don't know how long we'll be here while we wait for the storm to die down, so we might as well see if we can find anything useful or interesting - maybe even a secret passage.
    >> Charming Spell !K6Y3jvHRYk 01/26/10(Tue)14:47 No.7782222
    >>7782161
I'll go with this, then, since no one's contested it.

Magnemite floats up to the window, then lowers itself, telling you that it can't see Skarem or Charizard anywhere. As for the tower itself, it's pretty small; it's about as large around as the lab you were born in, and there are no other exits that you can see. The main features were definitely the rocks.

    >>7782222
In that case, nothing to do but to set up camp here until the storm passes. Assign Courtney's Golbat and the two Zubat to guard the windows and alert us when the storm dies down. In the meantime, we set up a campfire to eat, rest and plan.

This indeed happens. Courtney releases her Camerupt, who increases her (I think) body heat enough to warm the tower. Sarina brings out more food, releasing Gabite and Mothim to join you and your comrades on one side. The Magmas gather together on the other.

She smiles at this, albeit painfully. "Maxie. He came from Lilycove City, and he grew up as a rival to his cousin Archie, who grew up to be the leader of Team Aqua. Those two never forgot that relationship for an instant; they even insisted that they be called by their childhood nicknames for each other, instead of a more usual one. Maxie wanted to expand the land, to give more space for Pokemon and humans alike to expand and grow. Even water Pokemon wouldn't be adversely affected; most of them lived in coastal habitats, and with the land expanded, it'd mean more coast. So we started trying to find ways to do it, and when he found the Pokemon Groudon living in Mt. Chimney, we thought we'd done it; Groudon's ability to focus the sun's rays would dry out the oceans nearest to the land, and give us new land. But it went wrong; Groudon refused to listen to Maxie, and somehow it entered battle with Kyogre, another Pokemon awakened by Team Aqua in the hope of expanding the sea. The two fought until a third Pokemon, Rayquaza, came down from the sky and drove them both away."

During the blackout, while we were trying to repair ourselves, Maxie died suddenly." She shakes her head. "We never knew why; he was perfectly healthy and unwounded, except that he was dead. My cohort Tabitha and I took control of the Team, but then Skarem attacked. Somehow, he'd gathered plenty of his own loyalists in our Mt. Chimney base, and they overwhelmed us. Many of us were killed, and the survivors were forced to run. Tabitha... I don't know what happened to him, I had to flee without him. But if I had to guess, I'd say that Skarem's coerced him into actually running the day-to-day operations of the false Magmas."

Sarina, probably the one with more patience as a teacher, takes over here. The arrangement is rather makeshift, but she's able to teach you at least the letters of the alphabet, and some of the ways in which to put them together before the bunch of you finally have to go to sleep.

Charmeleon has difficulty with learning how to connect the symbols into words and phrases, but seems to have memorized the individual letters for now.

Magnemite takes in all the information with ease and commits it to memory.

Snover has trouble remembering the individual letters, but seems to have a good understanding of key words and phrases.

After a fashion, you do that. The Camerupt is withdrawn, with a visible sigh of relief from Snover, who now that you look at her more closely, has seemed highly uncomfortable throughout this whole desert thing and subsequent Camerupt baking.
