You are Alicia Katusic, a young woman far from home and far from friends. You are inside the dreamscape of Paul, a man who is trapped there by a powerful being seeking entertainment. But you don't know that; you've been there as long as you can remember. Paul was your traveling companion and friend since he rescued you from captivity, and saved your life more than once, but that changed after he was possessed and transformed by a demon. That demon has pursued you, and twice now you've managed to narrowly escape it. Your main goal now is saving Paul.

Recently you escaped a mostly-abandoned Liberty Ship in a hovercraft, which sank near the beach you are on now. With you was a sailor of questionable sanity named Slim, who considered the craft to be top secret property belonging to "The Government;" he died early in the escape. You now find yourself alone outside the door of a thatched house. In front of it is a sign that says "Jedidiah Adrius Thune, Salesman, Purveyor, and Trader of Goods Exotic, Intriguing and Unique." You've knocked on the door, and been told to come in.

I'm thinking that the jacket or camera could be generally useful, but our quest here is to save Paul. For that, we need either the dossier or exorcism bits- the dossier, in particular, could contain critical information. Or not, but it's worth chancing.

I'm not opposed to the camera, but it seems like it has less support at the moment and I'm generally inclined to move on with the quest. I could go with either jacket or camera; jacket would move our likely actions in a more adventurey, likely-to-be-fatal direction while camera would probably inspire some paranoid attempted investigative work, possibly giving us interesting information. Camera's superior in that respect, I suppose.

You drop the request for the photo of his door, and pick up the jacket. "This is what I'll be taking for the hovercraft. But if you'll toss in Black's memories of his daughter into the deal, I'll give you a bit of info about the man whose message is in this coin. So that if we come to a deal for it later, you'll have the full story."

He fidgets a bit, obviously trying not to let his rampant curiosity get the better of him. After about a minute, he fails. "Okay, you tell me what you know about that guy and I'll toss in the memories."

You put on the jacket. This is a nice one... tough exterior, soft and warm on the inside. Tag even says it has a waterproof treatment applied.

Not having any better ideas, you uncap the thermos and do your best to chug the memories down. Jedidiah was right, it does feel weird going down. Everything's normal for a moment.

Then it hits, like a wave crashing into you. Sights, sounds, smells, like they were all your own. The first thing you see is yourself in a doorway, a small girl running toward you with the happy cry of "DADDY'S HOME!" Then a birthday party with the girl beaming in front of a cake, another, another, candles added and dying with a breath again and again. A car ride, the girl sitting next to you and watching outside the window, then you're sitting on a bed and you hear a man's voice reading out a story that you recognize to the tired girl, but before you can name it it's another book, then another, then the girl crying, then running to greet you at the door again, then the memories start hitting each after the next until they start crashing together into years worth of experiences, before screeching to a halt at Jedidiah's thatched house, tears on your face as you nod assent to Jedidiah.

You blink and see the sky in front of you. You're on your back on the hilltop. Your head is spinning, and you don't feel hungry anymore. In fact, you almost feel like throwing up. Why the hell would Black do that?!

    >>Does it look like we're gaining some terrain on the speck? If not, proceed in the direction where the jets came from.

You're gaining terrain, but there's still a lot to make up.

The jets continue banking and begin a slowly expanding circle from where you were an hour ago. It's rather neat to watch.

They are probably searching for something. Perhaps for us or Slim. Catching up with the speck might prove difficult, but it's still a good bet that he is the Romere that we're searching for.

We could always switch directions later, because the jets came from roughly the same direction.

You know what's even more neat? Watching them crash and burn. Do we have an item with any reflective surface in our inventory, speaking of which, did we get that camera from that store or did we just leave it behind?

You have a large kitchen knife and a metal thermos (not very shiny but still reflective) as your best bets.

You don't have the camera; you took the jacket instead.

Exactly HOW where you planning to do that?

We could signal the jets by reflecting sunlight at them.
Hopefully they're not here to bomb us.

Because... who sends JETS on a rescue mission? Helicopter is the standard fare.

Wait a moment. That's quite true. VERY true. They'd have no idea we were with Slim.
Perhaps we should not signal them, and instead catch the black figure.
We can always find the government headquarters later.

Going to wrap up sometime soon, despite not having a great stopping point. Getting hard to keep my eyes open.

    No signaling jets. Catch Romero.

    >>No signaling jets. Catch Romero.

As the jets continue flying in the expanding circle, you realize the odds are pretty good of them spotting you if you continue walking, whether you signal them or not. Of course, hiding means that Romero will get farther away.

We press on and hope they wouldn't just bomb an innocent girl, but we constantly keep an eye for cover in the case that the jets look like they're going to attack.

You press on, and getting a closer look you see that those can't be bombs on the end of the wings. They must be fuel tanks. All the same, you start looking for cover.

The planes both cease their current pattern, and begin banking directly toward you.

If they dive directly *at* us, we run for cover.

What the heck, running for cover wouldn't do shit anyway if they have three planes. Start waving at them.

    Two planes.
But yes, the friendly wave is a good plan.
Wave with something other than the Glory-Jacket, though. Keep that on.
Hopefully if the bomb sends us flying through the air, we won't die on landing.

    >>friendly wave

You wave at the two planes, trying to appear friendly. They begin a steady circle around you.

Rebuilding the camera into something else, but that doesn't matter much now.

    [Assuming you continue walking]

The planes maintain this circle for over an hour. It's pretty annoying after a while. Then suddenly they both turn Northeast and leave.

They have probably sent someone towards us.

    Continue following Romero.

I think I'm going to have to call it a night here. My post quality is getting worse and worse, better that I start fresh.

Depending on if I have work Tuesday (which I don't know yet) I may run a session tonight starting sometime between 11 pm and 12:30 am Central U.S. time. If it's after 12:30 it's a no-go. Either way, this weekend will see another session at the usual times.

    Allright, good night.

I'm probably the only person in this thread that doesn't have trouble staying awake. It´s nice to live in Europe.

    Sounds fun.

By the way, thanks whoever archived this. Anyone who's been enjoying these so far feel free to give the threads a vote on sup/tg/, and sorry about the crappiness of the tail end of this session.
