I am bound by pact to raise a city in the water. But I still have not shown proper respect to the sea, and such blasphemy would surely...

But 'lo! An idea! I shall create a subrace. I shall mould the form of my children into one more suited to the sea, without the wings or lungs... I shall give the skin in all the shades of blue, and shall have them sing the praises of my father, Wend, the god of the sea. I deliver these people unto your bosom, in the hope that you will accept my gift as proof that I respect you in all my endeavors!

With this act complete, I shall turn my attention to my people. I shall life one of them to be my representative. A kind Laylun girl, learned in the ways of herbal lore and in the prime of life. I shall elevate her to immortality. Change her wings to be like unto those of birds, and strong enough to fly any distance, and her features to be softer to mark her out from her kin. Her beauty will know no compare, and she will tend the flock of my followers, and defend the forests alike. Her name shall be Dia, and she shall be my most favored servant.

And lo' did Wend look down on his tribute. While once he would be loathe to accept civilisation to his bosom, this was a tribute from a son to his father. He accepted it.
    He spoke to these people:
"Know this! I am a prideful god. The waves shall not crush my, my children shall not feast on you so long as I am revered.

But know this too. Your lives here are not valued greatly. For you are a tribute, and shall be treated as such!

To reflect this you are now the Tributarians. Know your place"

Were gods capable of bodily functions similar to that of mortals, Gyzer would have puked. All this new purity, tribute, and other ridiculousness would not do, not at all.

Gyzer thought hard in an attempt to come up with a race of pure evil in order to make the world far more interesting, and had a revelation. Unable to stifle the ever-widening grin on his face, Gyzer created a race so easily corruptible, so cowardly, that they were destined to commit the greatest atrocities a mortal could conceivably be capable of. He made sure to give them an environment that would being out the worst in them - his lifeless island. There, with the infertile land and the shortage of food, his new race would do wretched things just to survive. In that desolate wasteland only the strongest of his children would live to breed, and only the strongest of theirs would do the same.

    And so Gyzer created Humanity.

The world was filling with life, more things for Divad to corrupt. However, a few interests would require a physical interaction, so he had no choice but sculpt an avatar of his own.

A bolt of lightning struck the mortal world, and from the impact rose the black shadowy figure that was Divad. He calld down another bolt, which struck a large stone, revealing a strange black metal beneath. The metal melted and floated into the air, forming a massive floating fortress that would serve as Divad's "hand" in this world. The bottom of the fortress opened, revealing a massive eye. "Now, my Collector, build me a race of follower!" A large drop of black liquid metal fell from the eye like a tear and pooled on the ground. Divad sought inspiration and sculpted the liquid into the form of Gyzer's creation. A race of humanoids made of black metal formed, and with a bolt of lightning they were brought to life. "You are the Enivid, you shall live for me and by my law." They cheered and praised Divad as he returned to the ethereal plane, and in his honor built the cit of Lotipac.

They mine for precious metals and stones and their cities reflect their greed. However, they are very respectful of the laws made by their leaders, who'm are elected for life. Val looked down from the heavens, upon the peoples his kin had sown. He saw how the Laylun were so well suited to traversing the great blue seas of the world, and he thought this very clever, for there is water everywhere, as necessary to life as breath or food. He then looked at the Jauts, and he thought them impressively hardy, well crafted for dwelling amidst the worst any land can bring. Finally, he looked to the elves of Usiku’s making, and he found them the fairest.

Reaching down, he took from them a maiden to be a wife of his. Her name was Moirynn, and as he took her to his embrace, Val’s wings shook, shedding ten mighty feathers that fell down to earth. They spilled across the mountain north of Lunara, and shattered, becoming the first of the Valfari – the ‘Feathers of Val’.

Val was joyous. He told his children to erect a city where they had sprouted, naming it Isidunn. Next, he taught them of warfare; how to be champions in the arena of battle, especially favouring the spear and the bow.

The Valfari are semi-avian humanoids, sporting pair of eagle-like wings of various colourations. Generally tall and lithely built, they are adapted primarily for mountainous terrain, sporting mottled, talon-like feet capable of perching upon the most precarious of crags and rock faces. They hands are similarly avian – set in a mixture that grants them the natural weaponry of birds and the dexterity necessary to wield tools. Their features are longer than those of humans, as well as those of elves, and suited to aerodynamic movement. As children of Val, they are naturally a species of great dynamism, and as a people are motivated mainly by prospect of adventure and battle. They have a natural sense of camaraderie and hospitality, and feel that battle is their domain to both participate in and preside over.

    New races.... yes.....

New, naive. They must learn respect.
The Envid, The Drow, The High Elves, the Valfari and the Humans.
Five new races, perfect. For Wend, in his wisdom, made four avatar and he had his Laylun order, the Sect of Wend. He spoke to each of his avatars and gave them a command.
    "Teach them respect."
The Leviathan was sent to the greedy but hard working Envid. It arose from the sea as some worked on the coast, and showed them it's magnificence. It's sight brought fear and respect to even their determined mind, and so the Envid learned respect. They soon learned that the Sea too required payment, payment in respect and sacrifice. An order arose to establish this.
To the High Elves went Sildas, who arose as he found an exploring elf vessel. His sight was magnificent, and through some primitive communication showed the Elves the error of their ways. The sea must be fed, and respected. An order too in them arose.
The Herald went to the Drow, and taught them similarly.
The Kraken found a fishing ship of the humans, starved, and found a taste for human flesh. An order arose to sacrifice humans, usually criminals, in order to establish safety in the sea.

It was the Valfari who proved most difficult, as teh avatars rested. He sent his Sect in the Laylun to spread their words. The greeting between races was hard at first, but soon the two begun to understand one another. The Sect taught the new race their ways, and all they could about the god Wend. Soon a sect worshipping Wend arose in them, and they too learned the laws of the sea.

Wend looked down upon the races of the world, and was satisfied.

Gyzer grew fond of his Humans. They showed a darker side of themselves not before seen in the other races, rather than insanity being a disease of the mind for merely a few, insanity seemed inherent in all of humanity. These creatures quickly became the pride of Gyzer, his favorite pets.

Gyzer was satisfied that the weaklings of his new species had been obliterated by natural selection in the harsh landscape he had carefully crafted for them, and as such he set about making life for the Humans easier, so that they might have more time to devote to his other interests. Gyzer came to the humans in their sleep and showed them the nightmare of ignorance, of the slow and painful demise that awaited each and every one of them if they did not strive for progress. He whispered the secrets of how to cultivate food in the badlands, he taught them to dig caverns deep into the dead soil, there they could rest layers of decaying, inedible salt bush, and as it rotted away an edible fungus would grow and flourish, the age of barbarism among humanity was all over.

With food plentiful, the humans turned their focus to civilization, their scattered camps became a walled city, even more massive than it appeared. For every human living above ground in a carved cliff side or stone building, ten would live in subterranean lairs, out of sight.

Gyzer taught the humans to respect Wend, God of the Sea, so that he might grant them safe passage across the oceans when it was time. He also allowed them to name their city, and they called it Xavias. Xavias would be the largest city in the world, and in it's center the Humans built a beacon, forever lit, and it's flame licked all corners of the island with light.

And Gyzer saw the light, and saw that it was Evil.

Many resisted due to the presence of the insufferable fish god Wend strong in the area, but Tarash managed to bring followers to the west. These followers morphed under the influence of Tarash. They became larger, their skin burned under the harsh sun into a golden brown that matched the land on which they tread. Under the serpent's teachings they learned to hate those who oppose the presence of the Fire god. However they still kept the characteristics and customs of their brethren. Pleased with their newfound religion Tolb' allowed his avatar to grant them a piece of his skin so they can share the glory of Tolb'. I command my avatar to travel to the dark elves and set up an order devoted to me. I use this to give the dark elves a command to raise an army to defend themselves from any who shall attack them.

    These creatures are mine.

Borrowing a shooting star from the sky, Layana dug a crater in the deepest forest she knew.

She left Laun working with the order of Peace, building it's first army. Anyone foolish enough to start a war would have to deal with these specially trained soldiers, selected across the races for their devotion for the world's safety.

Divad spoke to his Collector, a new plan had been formed. The Collector flew over Pacifica and dropped a drop of black metal down into the sea. The Tributarians that found it felt Divad's power rush through them. They crafted the metal into amulets which they wore at all times. They formed the Dark Water Society, a group devoted to two gods. They defend the sea in the name of Wend and killany who show disrespect, but they also have Divad's sense of greed and attack ships for their supplies.

"Pirates in your realm that attack and rob those who disrespect you. Surely you can appreciate that Wend?"

Tolb' was not pleased with the elves still on his land. He beckons to his avatar to rally his children to attack the neighboring High Elves. The would be told to either convert or suffer Tolb's wrath. The people resisted due to the prosperity Wend gives them in return for sacrificing to the mighty fish god. Angered, Tolb' plagues the elves with a plague so they would turn from evil and over to good. He makes them suffer from a terrible drought that kills their crops. He then causes unbearable heat in the area with temperatures that would make a Dragonkin sweat. Many elves relented and begged for mercy. Tolb', seeing these cries stopped the madness as long as they would accept him and defy his elder god. Most came over to his side and morphed into the Dragonkin under Tarash's magic. The ones who stayed proved to be violent. Their ways and cultures were being threatened.

The New Dragonkin, excited to bask in the glory of Tolb' began to spread his teachings of unification against evil the only way they knew how. They slaughtered the non-believers in the eastern deserts. Tarash wiped out the remaining High elves leaving his the only ones in the north.
Pleased Tolb set his sights on the mountains and caves to the south at commanded his people to settle there. They crafted a city in these mountains, but had no way to keep watch over the surrounding deserts. Tarash them created a race of birds that were twice the size of his elves, and could carry one if need be. Satisfied Tarash crept back into the fires of his birthplace to rest until needed again.

Chekhov, angered by the harming of his Jungle by Layana, creates a new race of jungle inhabitants, The M'dicil. Shape-shifting Fungi, they can take the look of any race, but their original form is human-like. Their original form carries a wide array of colors, from Black-Pink. They are all under a hive-mind, which controls their actions within the jungles. Each one carries every disease, even diseases that are not yet known. Touching a M'dicil with your bare skin instantly infects you with the diseases. This race gathered together within the first few days, and started building a town, the hive-mind named the town Tuberculosis.

Val watched in anger as, in the far west of the world, the fair race from which he’d chosen a wife in years passed was smitten from the earth. Both he and his consort were much distressed – he ranted and raved, spurring thunder in the canopy of the world, and spat vows of reckoning by the thousand. As much as he wished to bring ruin upon the draconic creatures that had wiped out the elves of the west, however, he had made his commitments to the defence of the Valfari and Laylun’s shared continent, and for Val there was no going back upon one’s good word.

Chest heaving with hate, he snatched a bolt of lightning from the sky, and hurled it down to earth, at the roots of Isidunn’s mountainous terrain. There it was fastened into the soil as a gleaming spear. For eight days and nights, Valfari trekked to the base of the mountains to try their hands at drawing the grand weapon from the earth, until on the final day, a stout-hearted Shieldmaiden proved strong of body and soul to retrieve it. She erupted into a torrent of divine lightning – her eyes flashed like stars, her wings multiplied and churned with gilded fire. She became Magdihel, Muse of Battle.

Her appearance brightened the eyes and the souls of the Valfari, and she gave unto her people the words of Val, instructing them upon the ways of forging magic into weapons and armour.

Wend, the Great Sea God, watches the fire's god insolence. And he is not pleased. But he is tired, and so he whispers his outrage to his avatars. But he will show he has some fight in him.

From the depths of the ocean, the last of Wend's children is born. It is Fintas the last, a fearsom servant. It is ordered to bring fear to the fire god's isle, and it does so. It wrecks havoc on the coastline, so all near may learn fear. While the once elves of the isle may hear only it's noise and wonder, the Wyverns see. And they learn to fear the sea, as it grasps their very being, as those who see it spread the word.

Despite his fury, Wend notices another race has arisen. So as well as his new avatar, his oldest is sent a mission. From their city, they see the Leviathan rise as a towering mountain from the sea. The M'Dicil learn to respect the sea for it's power, and will sacrifice if the need to cross it comes.

Now the god Wend is tired, and once more takes solace and rest in the hidden depths of his domain. The Old God sleeps.

Watching the last remnants of elvenkind arrive upon the shores of his continent, Val prepares a fitting welcome to the eastern lands. He calls Moirynn – perhaps the last true High Elf left in the world – to him and grants her a spark of his divine power, transforming the maiden into a living embodiment of hope. Sent down to walk among the Dark Elves, she reveals herself as a herald of her husband’s divine voice, and in her they see a brilliant reflection of themselves. Awed, the Dark Elves found an order of war-priests under her direction, and the light of Val enters their immortal souls, turning them away from the evil they were born in.

It was a strange couple of months leading up to the fateful event. A battle amongst the gods and a great shift of many races had left the physical world in a state of unrest. Gradually, the psychic pressure and turmoil built up, until their final culmination on that fateful night.

That night, the whole world was permeated by an almost cosmic aura. The many races of the planet went about their business in an almost trancelike state, until the night reached it's zenith. At that point, the planets moved into alignment, and suddenly, the illusions lifted, and the spell was broken. Those who cared to examine the sky that night would assert that a new star had been born. In truth, however, the new god, Xodion had entered the universe.

All those sensitive to the will of the cosmos felt an intense shock from this genesis, especially the Laylun, living in the city of Soleslara; as they were the closest to both the earth and the stars. Because of their primal nature, they had not lost their attunement to the psychic realm. The learned ones of the floating city, it's artists, it's philosophers, it's scholars; those who felt it most came together on that night, and formed a society dedicated to the interpretation of the cosmic order. These seers marked themselves on the forehead with the symbol of knowledge, the Mystic Eye. And across the land, Soleslara became known for it's oracle and prowess at divination.

An eye from above watched the world. It had been watching for a while, but exactly how long was up to question.

Today, the eye looked upon the world and blinked. Had the world not been flat, desolate, and empty mere moments ago, as it closed its eye? Or had it been settled, even then? Auron's eye puzzled over this for a moment, before taking a closed look. The land that had seemed so promising such a short time ago now seemed to be filled with the enemies of nature, the fools.

It was time for a change.

    Yes, yes it was.

And so Auron looked for promising life in the world, and found a snake in the jungle.

He dropped to the land for a moment, picking up the snake in his gaze.

And so the snake changed, becoming the form Auron would take as he wandered. The snake grew, and grew limbs, taking the shape of a man, of an elf. It rose on it new legs, now as tall as a tree. The horns of a bull sprouted from his head, and Aursol was born.

Aursol walked the world, but as he was a mere snakeman, didn't get too far.

He found the sea, and decided this would be where nature would begin to reclaim this world.

And so the Norii, the snakemen of Auron, were born. Four feet tall, they were, as they stumbled, confused, through their new home. They burrowed into the sand of the beach, fished the fish, hunted the beasts, as was Auron's will.

The god watched, and waited. And he blinked, this time ready for what he may find when his eye opened.
