Your tutor after a rather unfortunate accident has been removed from the inquisition leaving his contracts and acolytes up to you.

Straight out of the administratums schooling new to the job you find yourself in the inquisitors office once more, a simple affair with a

large redwood desk, A pair of motivational posters decorate the walls, a large =][= engraved into the metal door.

In front of you are a pair of data slates inspecting both the first one reads:
    =][= Inquisitor lord A.F =][=
Inquisitor, i hope you have been settling into your new roll fine, fortunately for you before [redacted] was removed from his position he

managed to finish the majority of his contracts. A new selection of contracts and acolytes have been added to a second data slate for you

to inspect i trust you will serve the inquisition well. Your old inquisitors assets have been liquidated and the funds (12,000 gelt after admistratum deductions) have been transfered to your account for you to spend on your acolytes as you wish.
    =][= Inquisitor lord A.F =][=

Attached at the end after the inquisitor lords signature and electronic seal is another note:

Inquisitor, the Administratum do not appear to have your records on file, please submit your details when possible.

The second dataslate the one with the contracts shows 8 new documents:
Message 1 Arrived 2 days ago.
From: Adept Georn - Exon 2 - Exon System
Message: Inquisitor i will keep this message brief so to not waste my lords time. My sources indicate a lord of the Exorn 2 hive Adern has

come into possession of recovered xeno artifacts possibly through direct trade, If the population gets wind of this there may be more

    incidents. Adept Georn out.

Message 2 Arrived 4 days ago.
From: Relay station beta two four - Asteriod A4B2,22501 Teail system.
Message: This is an automated message to all units within range. Broadcasting on an inquisitional frequnecy. We are in need of immediate

aid a mining station located nearby has discovered a landing ship marked with inquisitional symbols in a layer of rock dated to be 1500

years old, shortly after reporting the finding the station has not relayed any messages since.

Message 3 Arrived 7 days ago.
From Commander Stone - Cradle orbital station - Mein System.
Message: Inquisitor, Our forces engaged in removing the ork threats from the nearby Faen system have been making good progress

however our ammo quota is not being met from forgeworld Brimstone. Reports from my men (those that would be better serving on the

front lines need i remind you) are that raiders have been plaguing the Omnisiah's forges causing large ammounts of damage and reducing

their output, Messages to Magos Rez have only stifned the magos' attempts to stop reports of the raiders actions from getting out and

he has since dismissed my men telling me the skitari will deal with it. i request inquisitorial action be taken.

The other documents appear to be Acolyte profiles.

A semi quest thread, part DH matchmaking.

You chose what acolytes go where and in what quantity, and the games are played each week.

You may come across new characters and new contracts in your travels and ill update you each week with each groups progress.

to begin with ill keep it at this number of acolytes maybe one or two more to see how the game takes off. if it gets up to speed fast ill look to see if anyone from /tg/ wishes to join in the actual games too.

We'll meet up with the team on hand at Exon 2 about the artifacts, but we'll also need to be stealthy about it, as it seems the population might not be too kind about our being there.
Never the less, we should check to see if there are any Soritas in nearby systems, deathwatch companies available and the like. (in case of population troubles not handled by/caused by PDF/IG)

Delessa Kravos is one of the more reasonable inquisitors, tolerating the presence of what some might call heresy if she thinks it may prove useful to the Imperium, but always keeping in mind the inherent risks and carefully balancing them against the potential uses.
In conduct she is stately, but brusque. She enjoys banter, but is quick to get to the point when the situation needs be.
Not afraid to get down and dirty in her work.
She enjoys good cigars, the occasional snifter of fine amasec, and finer women- she is a bit of a habitual smoker, and always tries to have a supply of cigars on hand. She gets testy when they run out.

everyone else, inculding inquisitor should head to mining installation. petition the hierophant for a squad of soldiers to accompany you to mining station. A ship missing for 1500 years sounds tantalizing. One of the first missions as an inquisitor cleaning up old messes should go down well with higher ups.

Also- if, the acolytes think they need more funding, they're okay to tell us
(Still kind of uncertain of how much things cost in DH)

    Armsman locklear can use launchers.

The Electropriest specializes in using smaller weaponry such as pistols.

Both adepts have compact pistols for self defense, not the most useful in a fire fight but they can handle rifles if the need arises.

Nighthawk prefers melee weapons but can still use a multitude of standard weapons.

Novice lawerence can use pistols and rifles but neither to the degree of the Electropriest or armsman.

For now i have just dumped 2k into each groups coffers to divide between themselves and purchase what they need.

Right- let's give them a few missions to get acquainted to their fighting styles before we start issuing them arms and armor

Suggest to the Mine group that they bring along a heavy weapon
Suggest to the Hive group that a small bribe can go a long way, but not to forget that they are dealing with powerful people

Actually- tell them that exactly, reversed in order
"The inquisitors note advises The adepts and the assasin to remember that they are dealing with powerful people, but also that a small bribe can go a long way when dealing with them.
The inquisitor advises the Armsman to bring heavy weapons."

You can grab the books off /rs/, just a quick pointer, helguns are amazing.

Thanks, I've already downloaded the books, not certain which ones are good though
Never really got the hang of dark heresy

Hellguns are reasonably powerful, but most importantly they have a high penetration. Armour means nothing to them.
Bolters are ok, I personally don't like them much, storm bolters are good though. The problem with them is the low pen, though they do get tearing.
    >> Anonymous 12/01/10(Wed)15:38 No.12993124
    >>12993106
    Good against deamons?
I'm expecting whatever it is to be on that mining station not have much in the terms of armour outside of the chitinous kind
    >> αlpharius 12/01/10(Wed)15:52 No.12993306
    >>12993124
Bolters are good against low armoured foes, hellguns are reliable against almost any foe. Bolters will get righteous fury more often however.

However both of these are put to shame by the crux beam gun, my arch militant has gibbed things with it before. However, that's a bit out of your league, at least at the moment.

Alright will keep that in mind in case we ever get any favors from some high and mighty guy with connections.
Do you think it was a good idea to let the Acolytes equip themselves?

Do you think we were to passive in assignments as well?
Should we have given them more specific instructions, like "Talk to the xeno trader, but do not attempt remove him without backup."
    >> αlpharius 12/01/10(Wed)16:17 No.12993554
    >>12993439
Not really, you're more likely to get an interesting spread of weapons. Which you have.
A motion predictor and suspensors on the assualt cannon will be hillarious by the way.

Specific orders are always usefull, however this way you find out how well they operate on their own initiative, which is valuable information to have.
A compromise is probably best for a first assignment. Give them some orders but leave them room to improvise as they deem necessary.
That way you work out which members of your team you need to give detailed orders to, and which ones you can just let loose.

    Right
It should be interesting what the after action reports look like
I'll also want to see what weapons they buy and outfighted themselves with

So what are the acolytes looking like so far?
Adept, Adept, Guardsman, feral world assassin, cleric, tech-priest

wish we had more detailed backgrounds on our acolytes
