    Last year, as im sure you can easily read on the archive, we've been in a war with the Republic of Acra for a few months time now, resulting in both loosing and retaking Normandy as well as a rescue mission which escalated into a full blown take over of the last goblin settlement in the region. And while the war goes on, the immediate threat to the colony is gone.

    Man things have been going well. Construct a better road between Normandy and the new colony we have yet to name. Try to build a stone wall around the town as well, we may want to be prepared in the case of an assault from another goblin force. See if we can fix our border lines too now that we own the settlement and it's on the opposite side of the lines.

    After moving some of our already stretched forces into the new Acran town to maintain order, a road system was built from Normandy to it.

    Great News, the 2nd Verinian NW army has arrived! They've been amassing their troops to the west of Verinian colonial territory before trying to make a move against the goblins, being able to amass 4500 men, although almost 2/3s of that force is purely Militia. They've set up camp at at the old Acran settlement and set it up as their HQ for operations in this area.

    After their two week stop for resupply at serenity, the 2nd army has began to march onwards towards Acran territory along with some extra grain supplies as a gift from us, but it has been noted that the king will be informed of our lack of troop donation.

    In other news, it has been announced that An Ríocht na Laighean (High Kingdom of Leinster) has jumped into the war on our side to try. Their offical clause is to help us 'from the oppression of the Arcan Dogs', but their real reason is obviously to try and secure themselves some more colonial assets.

    An Ríocht na Laighean (High Kingdom of Leinster) Is probably the most Ironicly named in all of Europa, with it being the smallest in all of europa in both size and population.
    While being the smallest Kingdom in the land, they make up for it with some colonial assets, albiet small, and their asstonishing technological advancements, with the amazing
    'rifle' and their flying machines Called 'Hot Air Ballons and are noted for their recent 'industrial revolution'. The armies of Leinster are made up of highly trained troops who focus
    on either massive firepower displays, with their rifles giving them improved range, accuracy and rate of fire, or Horse back Skirmishers. They are made up of a population of what
    is considered 'Western Tieflings', whichare almost entirely removed from their Dorovan cousins, being paleskinned like most other races, horns growing from further up their heads
    rather than the forehead itself, and have no tail. The only thing that prevents them from being confused as half breeds is their thick accents and distinct personalities.

    Other Europan nations look down upon the West tieflings simply due to their biological relations with the much more hostile Dorovan tiefllings to the east, which has been a deciding
    factor to why they've remained such a small nation state today despite their advances, which to this day only act to counteract hostile takeover. Despite being even related to the tieflings,
    the emperor of the Dorovan Empire refuses relations with a nation that clearly has tiefling blood but is not under the banner of the Dorovan Empire.

    The duchess, Petrovski and the hussars have boarded the Frigate still in port to head off to one of the northern island colonies of Leinster. Upon arrival, they were welcomed well by the nobles but not so much by the people, who too are wary of the tieflings, simply due to the stance most tieflings take on them.

    After negotiating, it is agreed that for every 10 Leinster warships that use Our port, 1/4 a gold will be paid.

    In other news, 2nd army is making progress, capturing half of the Acran territory so far, but has had to stop due to overstretched supply lines, and will start its advance again next month.

    Troubles this month, the frigate containing the duchess and Petrovski has yet to return. It is possible they have been caught up in simple troubles, but due to this time of war it is awfully worrying.

    In other, better news, 2nd army has effectively captured all Acran land ajoined to our territory in this region and effectively ended hostilities here, but the conflict still rages to the north and south, and to a lesser extent in the far south colonies.

    Great and Terrible news.

    First, the great. The war is over. The Acrans have accepted our terms which have resulted in Varina recieving more territory, as well as Leinster to a lesser extent, but is overall good for us.

    Next, the terrible. Alessandro could find no signs of our frigate, but on his travels was able to use his connections to discover that the frigate was attacked en-route back to our colony in the final days of the war by a 64 gun Galleon. Massively out gunned, she surrendered immediately to prevent a slaughter of the crew and passangers, and the duchess and captain have been taken prisoner. Last it was heard, the Galleon was heading off to the Acran Islands.

    Also, contruction has begun on the new fort.

    The 'Vera' has been loaded up with the rescue party, made up of 20 Fessians, the baron, the duke and Marie Kaufmann and is being piloted by Captain Alessandro. We are currently on our way to one of the smaller Goblin cities where the prisoners are believed to be held, which the Doge of the city state is using to improve his standing.

    Our fort on the south end of the island is finally complete, but lacks any real garrison or cannon to arm it. In addition besides the walls, barracks and keep, the inside is bare.

    Problem with the crops, we got jackalopes. Farmers have found them in the fields and have begun to feed on both our wheat and Ember Plants, but haven't touched the durthweed yet or cotton.

    The Vera has arrived in Daltra, the capital of this small goblin island with a total population of 60,000 people, mostly goblins. You have pulled the Vera in to the west most docks under a Bernician Flag to avoid suspision.

    Back in serenity, the hounds and wolves are being used to hunt the jackalopes to some success, cutting down their numbers but not enough to stop them completely.

    Over the past couple of weeks, we've been able to probe for information throughout the city, slowly piecing together the puzzle. It seems that the Captain is being held prisoner in 'vodor prison' (left) and the Duchess is being held 'prisoner' in the palace grounds (right)

    The Captain is restricted too a 3m by 2m cell with one other cell mate, as are the rest of the 8 hussars and are allowed out once a week for 15 minutes on the prison grounds.

    The duchess is allowed to walk the palace grounds as well as the palace, but has an 8 man Goblin Royal Guard around her at all times to prevent her escape, as well as the guard posts at the bridges being informed not to allow her to leave without the direct command of the General, Doge or in times of an emergency where her life would be in direct danger.

    During the investigation, the duke was approached by a tiefling who 'kidnapped' him and brought him to an unknown location. It was revealed that they are members of the duchesses dynasty who are also planning to rescue her, having 10 hussars at their disposal. He has since been released and we are sharing our intel with them.

A Swabian called Taksony Ladislaus, a former Prisoner of Vodor prison who escaped 6 years ago but has remained in the city due to the lack of funds to get himself out, and to prevent recapture has grown his antlers and beard right out. He has some skills in swordplay but his biggest use is his ability to get in and out of the prison. All he requires as payment is you take him back to serenity as 'anything is better than here'

    2. Former Captain of the Guard Renaldo, who was shamed when Taksony Ladislaus escaped from the prison and was forced into retirement last year. He still has contacts within the palace guard and could possibly help you get in and out with a little bit of money, but as payment he requires that you kill Taksony Ladislaus in broad daylight to send a message to the rest of the underworld. He is a fine swordsman.

    We take Taksony and negotiate that we do not pay him but take him with us and give him a safe place to be.

    I say we bust out the Captain first, hoping that causes enough of a distraction (If it does, this is worst case and even then its a matter of time) To have a more elite squad somehow get in to the duchess perhaps? All that matters now is that we get out captain out he is a bro and they need the Duchess for negotiating less so the captain.

    Have just the duke, Taksony and 5 hussars swim across the mote during the no moon and have them begin to climb the walls. After 10 minutes since the start of the swim, Marie and the Fessians go to the main gates and kill the first guard they see, and try to draw the garrison out into combat.

    During this, have the Baron and his Hussars approach one of the main gates in civilian clothing on the east side and murder all the guards as fast as possible to try and not allow an alarm to go off. Once inside, they are to act as servants til they find the duchess, go out the way they came and leave two hussars behind to act as a rear guard and get her into the sewers.

    Meanwhile, the duke, Taksony and the 5 hussars are to sneak through the prison, find the Captain, and if possible his Hussars, release and arm them. To create another distraction for marie to get a chance to get away, begin to release prisoners before climbing back down the walls and crossing the mote again.
