    Year 2153:
Heavy Freighters 4-6 arrive at Earth with Hermesium.
Cryo-Freighters 8-9 are constructed and go on their way.
Relationship development continues with the New People on Ares.
The wreckage mainframe of the Zorg Corporation is arranged in a pattern on the Saharra Desert that spells "FUCK YOU." Experts are boggled at how it could've gotten there.
    Restrictions are put in place.
Every decade, Sleipnir Interstellar must produce at least $200b worth of combat starships for the UN.
Every decade, MNU must produce at least $150b worth of combat starships for the UN.
Any combat-worthy starship entering solar space will be boarded and dismantled by the UN. The controlling corporation will recieve a $250b fine.
Any non-UN combat capable starship constructed in the Solar System must serve in the UN Fleet for 6 years before it can be used by the constructing corporation.
The Zorg Corporation will henceforth be stripped of all of its construction yards, drones and its space program will be taken over by the UN.
Although the Zorg Corporation still remains a dangerous threat, it is no longer a part of the space race and its influence is limited to the Solar System.
You have recruited the cadre of conspiracy nerds who have been called the "Lone Gunmen" by the media.

    Balance: $735b

    Inactive ships:
Heavy Freighter 2 (Alpha Centauri) (Idle, Earth)
Heavy Freighter 4 (Alpha Centauri) (Idle, Earth)
Heavy Freighter 5 (Alpha Centauri) (Idle, Earth)
Heavy Freighter 6 (Alpha Centauri) (Idle, Earth)

Invest money into infiltrating whatever construction yards MNU is building their ships in. Invest more money in untraceable plans to cripple those ships whenever they near completion.

Those fuckers are going to default on their shit, the UN will smite them using OUR shit, and we'll sweep up.
    >> In Class 06/09/10(Wed)20:42 No.10394798
Well, I guess its better than it could of been.

Can we negotiate with the UN on using some of the ships they're taking from us to to avenge our colonists in Tau Ceti after we release their poor final cry?

Give the nerds 15 billion to beef up our security.

Start using dummy fronts to buy stock in rival corporations. Focus on RDA or whatever the one that is getting Pandorium.

Send as many colonists to Ares as we can. We need to establish our presence there without question. OP, don't forget about the colonists already there having kids.

Build a defensive fortress on Ares as a fallback. Expand from it, build factories for ground based weaponry. Tanks and artillery.

We need to get out from under the yolk of the UN.

Energy transferral portal would allow for large quantities of energy - more than just light - to be transferred between portals. This potentials means that a machine on the moon could be powered by a generator on Earth.
Portal edges? You can't be too sure. It could be completely useless, or you could discover submolecular edges that could revolutionize industry.

There was an idea earlier about making shorter particle accelerators which travelled in a straight line and then had portals at either end which essentially made them infinitely long, you could do a bunch of experiments with that.

And IIRC they have only invested in Alpha Centauri and Pandora. If they have any armed ships it should already be here to guard their wealth. If they have a construction yard outside of Sol it is either here (which it is not) or really fucking far away (wich is unlikely)
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:09 No.10396235
What makes you think we're the only people with a shipyard outside of the solar system?
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:09 No.10396238
Shit was cool, Plasma, looking forward to next week.

Look out, though, there was a whole thread by sagefags, for sagefags, and devoted to hating quests earlier. They had three or four whole participants.

    >>WHICH is unlikely.
    >> Tyr's Right Hand 06/09/10(Wed)22:11 No.10396274
I don't, but why would RDA have one wich is not in Sol or AC? They obviously don't have one in AC...
    >> Tyr's Right Hand 06/09/10(Wed)22:12 No.10396283

Fuck, I was sure I got the h there.
    >> Tyr's Right Hand 06/09/10(Wed)22:13 No.10396300
And to join with the others. Awesome thread Plasma. I'm sure as hell going to try to be here next week.

Also, Twilight Imperium gamean in a couple of hours. Gonna be epic. I'll be spouting Viking stuff all game.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:14 No.10396311
We should start investigating to see what other Corp are doing. We have infiltrated RDA already, so that is good ... what are we going to do there? Sabotage ship construction just before it is finished?
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:15 No.10396333
    Anyone archived this?
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:16 No.10396346
    Quest archived.

Thanks again Plasma, it's always a pleasure.

Don't worry. Step 0.9 getting RDA's rights to Pandora revoked by discrediting them and showing what they did on Pandora Then we're mining and SCIENCE!ing the hell out of Pandora. But there ain't any rule that says we can't talk to the na'vi. Get their testimony, and RDA is in for a world of hurt.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:18 No.10396376

    I meant MNU.. damn
    >> Tyr's Right Hand 06/09/10(Wed)22:18 No.10396385
Also, when RDA obviously can't deliver the Pandorium. Well, they can hardly keep the monopoly then. We can take over pretty soon, they'll need at least years.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:21 No.10396427
    Hmm... That is true.

The world will not sit and wait for 12 or more years while RDA gets their shit together.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:26 No.10396520
And we, on the other hand, can step in almost immediately. If we can start shipping soon enough, there won't even be any disruptions in the supply of Pandorium.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:33 No.10396632

    But we need moar megacorp!
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:37 No.10396707
This is true. We already have a few heavy freighters in the system right now. So we could keep the supply of Pandorium uninterrupted.
However, we need to negotiate with the Pandora Overmind first. Jake and that scientist chick have already interfaced with it, so it knows that RDA will be back. Or at least, if it doesn't then Jake is more stupid than I thought. We need to negotiate a peaceful trade treaty with the Na'vi/Eyhwa while at the same time acquiring evidence of the incompetence and atrocities committed by RDA Security forces on Pandora to discredit them back on Earth.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:38 No.10396720
Also, we DONT have to disrupt the natives. In Avatar they attacked their home tree because, like anon said, Cameron needed retarded amount of derp. We could search of other (smaller maybe) deposits on different side of the planet. Or, how about those flying rocks? They should be full of Pandorium.

What I'm saying, we can mine less but safe from natives while researching the neural network.
When we gain access to neural network we can slowly start to brainwash Navis, like giving them suggestions and such. Maybe we'll even mold them into a nice, convenient consumerist society and have another product market away from Sol.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:39 No.10396734
I don't care when but more often than once a week! Dammit Plasma, can't you hear our plight?
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:41 No.10396772
I don't think Eihwa is THAT sentient that we can go and talk to it. I think it resides more in subconsciousness.

Also... Can't we make Pandora a tourist destination? I am sure there would be thousands of people willing to pay millions so that they can be on Pandora for few months.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:41 No.10396777
    You mean..hack, the planet-mind?
Why do I have the mental image of a gruff, business-suited viking chasing Eywa through the darkened corridors of the planetary neural network, catching it in a corner, and raping the everliving shit out it?
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:41 No.10396779
Agreed. Damn the sagefags, damn the trolls, damn them all. We need more than Wednesday. We CRAVE it.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:43 No.10396811
Actually, we had a tourism business way back, but that pretty much dried up when the drama of space travel waned and it became just another job and work environment.

    Shut the fuck up, NO.

Too many quests are cancer and while I am an avid fan of, for example, Blood Quest, one of its gigantic flaws is day after day after day of it. It's grating. It's irritating.

It's more polite, civil and to be honest, entertaining to have it once a week.

The longer the wait, the higher the hype, the more fun you try to squeeze out of it and get out of it. The higher the "fuck yeah" factor.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:45 No.10396836

.. .Eh, anyway, you're the boss. Do what you deem is best.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:47 No.10396866
To be honest I prefer to have it one a week, not out of lack of love, but more our of lack of time.

I can't afford to stay up till 4 or 5 in the mourning every day, dammit.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:48 No.10396886

    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:49 No.10396899
That and I don't want you to over work yourself, if you had to constantly think of new things on the fly it might risk getting too complicated or convoluted, and it's nicer when you put the time in to plan it and all.
    >> Anonymous 06/09/10(Wed)22:55 No.10396981
You are the GM, so the schedule is yours to create.
It's just that, and I don't mean to sound ungrateful but, if you're going to only run it once a week, please no delays when you are running it. Waiting for OP and slamming the F5 key is excruciating.

Half of the stuff is me thinking on the spot. My imagination isn't that active that ideas just jump into my head. A lot of this isn't pre-prepared so many of the paragraphs I post haven't been written down or even been thought of before, so each post goes through editting as new ideas pop in and old ideas are considered shit.

So, yeah. Posting time is my flaw.

I understand that it is difficult to prepare things in advance, especially for a collective game such as this where the players will not necessarily act in the same manner from week to week.
From the MNU-Zorg pirate operation, it does sound like you prepared that in advance. Perhaps more such events could be readied?
    >You may already do this; if so, please ignore my post.
Such as what SLINT will find at Tau Ceti? Or maybe branching event trees for events that are likely to occur (Pandora: 1. what do if SLINT pisses off Na'vi 2. what do if SLINT able to befriend Na'vi; then factor in the defamation campaign against RDA)?
