My character just raped someone, then when they weren't feeling good because of it--what with all the rape and everything--he pulled out, started crying, then picked up a knife and started chopping his long hair off and cutting up his girly face and chest, saying how now he was more manly, and that she would be happy.

I play a very young (I think 10 months) old Promethean Galataeid. His creator, Je nais, made him pretty much for sex. She kept him in her house, didn't teach him much of anything, and used him as a sex slave. She even killed his body's previous owner, an up and coming young Disney Channel style actor. One day she just disappeared. Lace put on some of her clothes, and when he ran out of food, he just started walking. He ran into some hobos, who were happy to teach the little trap about the life on the road. Of course, when one of them took him behind a boxcar and started raping him, he grabbed a brick and brained the guy to death. That pretty much set the tone for Lace's life in general.

Well, a few months ago, he met the other player, and that guy used Lace as collateral for an underground fight. That's where Lace met Margaret, a 13 year old girl who's parents lost. Lace and Barlowe freed the kids, and he told Maggy to follow her dream of being an artist.
This was a terrible idea, and caused Maggy a world of trouble.

So, by now, there's Lace, Barlowe (the Frankenstein) and Kathleen (who's the ST's mysterious plothook NPC that we've taken in and who cleans our lair because whenever she goes out, freaky people in suits who don't seem to mind missing their jaws chase her). Well, we live in an abandoned train in the sewer. It turns out that Kathleen found someone else living in the sewer at this point. In the three months since freeing Maggy, she's been through hell.

She tried to do like Lace said and become an artist. A janitor snuck her into an art college, where he would molest her. He was rough, and one day she actually fought back, and during the struggle, she got some kind of powder in her eye (she did get her teeth knocked, fixing that annoying lisp). So then she ended up in the subway, being taken care of by a hobo who got blowjobs in exchange for feeding her.

During Valentines, Lace was left with Maggy while Kathleen and Barlowe had Valentines dinner and sex--which was one of my Elpis dreams, Barlowe and Kathleen making love with 14 hearts around, in Lace's bed and Lace feeling like this was something that shouldn't happen.

Lace fought the hobo, but because Barlowe had told him he couldn't be human if he killed people, he got grappled, held down, and his skirt was pulled off. Maggy beat the man in the head, killing him before he could rape Lace.

There are these artificial humans (the Created) powered by divine fire who want to become real humans. The thing is, they are anathema to reality itself, and their very presence warps things and people around them, so they can never stay in one place for long. And there are things out there that want to suck all that delicious divine fire out of them, too, and Created that get tired of the humanity quest and just go batshit.

It's a very fucked up game, but it rocks.

Now, hurrying along on this overly long anecdote, after the above, Lace came crying back to everyone else. Barlowe went off to make sure Maggy was okay, and ended up dragging the old Sedan she sleeps in over to our train. Meanwhile, Kathleen gave Lace a bath, and told her that she left him with Maggy so that Kathy and Barlowe could make love on Valentines day, because that's what adults do. Lace Tormented, and Kathy finally got it through her ditzy head that Lace is basically a walking Real Doll. He made her promise to 'make love with' him the next time they were alone and Barlowe was gone.

Now, I told you that story to tell you this one.

Lace spent the day with Maggy, being good to her and feeding her, and the two of them took a bath together, what with the blind girl not having on in three months. Eventually, Lace got an erection, and not even knowing it really freaked the fuck out of the girl. He wanted to make her feel good, though, and convinced her to let him make love with her. She said if Lace protected her, she'd do anything for him--of course, she said it in a hollow, mechanical voice. Lace, having Wits+Empathy of 1 didn't realize this, and tried to make her feel good. Failing (mostly because Maggy was suffering Disquiet and was just trying to make Lace feel good, while being all soulless) he started crying, thinking he couldn't do it right because it was his first time on top. She finished him up, got dressed--badly--and then left to go back to her car.

Now, by now we'd picked up a third player, so there's a fourth member of our little Throng. She's a Tammuz, only about a week old. She's dumber than Lace.
Joan comes into the bathroom after sparring with Barlowe, sees Lace sitting in his own sex-gel and crying, and asks if making love ever made him feel good, and why he thought it would make her feel good, and that he should apologize. Wondering how, he goes to Kathleen. Her head is filled with nonsense, though, and she suggests Lace wasn't trying hard enough, and then dresses him up in jeans and a t-shirt, saying he should be more manly--like Barlowe.

While this was going on, Joan went to question Barlowe about what making love is, and saying that Lace made love with Maggy, but that it didn't make her feel good. Barlowe charges in--while Lace is pantsless--ready to crush his head with Frankenstein might, shouting how "that little faggot raped that girl!"
Lace of course didn't know what half the things he was saying meant, and was even more afraid that his best friend/big brother/father figure was being so angry. Barlowe goes to fix things with Maggy, Kathleen fixes Lace up.

As Lace goes to see Maggy, he gets there in time to see Barlowe take her away. I caused Stage Three Disquiet :3
Lace tries to seduce Maggy, promising to be better, promising not to make love with her unless she wants to, promising to be manly, promising to wear pants... succeeds brilliantly, and Barlowe just runs off with the girl to get her away from Lace's terrible influence. Lace chases after him, stabbing him in the back with a railroad spike, but he gets away, jumping onto a building.

That's when Lace Tormented and goes back to Kathleen.

He decides he's going to take Kathleen up on that offer, starts tearing off her clothes, and forcing her onto the bed, where he holds her down and rapes her. While it may have felt good for her when Lace was daintily kissing her neckline, Torment powered Galataeid penis is probably like a marble jackhammer. She doesn't enjoy it, and Lace DRAMATICALLY FAILS an Empathy roll. He thinks that no one loves him, and that the reason Maggy hates him, and the reason Je nais left him, and the reason that Kathleen isn't happy is because he's not good at making love. He pulls out, crying that she doesn't love him. He spots the knife on the dresser, where she used it to show Lace that getting your hair cut doesn't hurt.

He grabs it, starts cutting chunks out of his long hair to make it shoulder length like Barlowe's, and cuts into his face and chests, laughing through the pain, saying how now that he's like Barlowe, he can make her feel good, because he's manly now. She grabs Lace by the wrist, throws the knife into the metal wall, then she flips him onto the bed, and pins him. He of course thinks that she's going to be on top now, and that she does like him more, now that he's done 4L worth of damage to himself. She soothes his Torment with magical promethean tears, and kisses him softly and motherly.

No longer angry and bitter, he asks if they can finish, because "doesn't it hurt to stop...?"
Then they have tender loving sex, and Lace learns the difference between making love and Love.

tl;dr: I AM PLAYING A CRAZY AUTISTIC SOULLESS RAPIST REAL DOLL. This is my favorite character ever, because he's so sad and stupid and depressing.

Well, there is the story of how Lace saved Maggy.

Barlowe finds an underground fight club at a gym. Thinking nothing of it, he offers the girl he met a few days ago up as collateral. Lace is led to a back room with tons of children, and meets Maggy. She makes mention that all the kids are probably going to have their livers taken out or something. Lace, having the Redundant Organ (Spleen) Transmutation says "But I don't have any extras of that!"

When Barlowe wins his fight, Lace convinces him to rescue the kids. So Barlowe just punches the manager in the face so hard that it knocks him out in one fucking punch. Then we have to fight off two other fighters. Lace grabs a railroad spike, and stabs it into both their legs, and then dramatically busts down the door covered in blood saying "you can all be free now!"

Then there's the time Lace picked up that magical knife that seemed to possess people to kill anyone who looked like they'd been in a fight. To find out who was killing all the people, Lace beat Barlowe up with a board with a rusty nail in it. He then got stabbed in the face. The cops took the knife, and put the guy in the hospital, so we failed that time, but a month later it started happening again, and it was the cop who came last time. So Lace picked it up, and some time the next day he goes out and finds a homeless person that was in a fight, and almost kills him before Barlowe tackles him.

BARLOWE THEN GETS NINE SUCCESSES ON SEVEN DICE, AND SHATTERS THE KNIFE INTO A THOUSAND FRACTURED PIECES.

    >> Anonymous 12/27/09(Sun)16:13 No.7307955
    >>7307934
You just need Death instead of Life in nwod. In owod, the whole "not a living thing" part just makes it more complicated, by making it require Life+Matter... instead of Life+Matter.

Either way, direct vulgar bullshit is for chumps.
    >> Anonymous 12/27/09(Sun)16:15 No.7307961
    >>7307948
    Nope, just Life+Matter.

You need Life to affect a human.
You need Matter to affect an inanimate object (like, to turn something into a lawnchair).
You need Life+Matter to affect a vampire.

So vampires are the precise same as humans as far as lawnchairification is concerned.

    You know what they are?
TELL ME! After the sex, Lace wanted to know what book Kathleen was reading (Lace had Pinocchio, Barlowe had Frankenstien. Kathy hid hers whenever someone came around).

Well, she's got all these freaky markings that she says only good people can see, and they gave me the Obsession derangement while I was looking at them during the sex and whatnot. Because Lace's Int+Academics is so shit though, all I could make out was the recipe for human transmutation. After the bath, she gave Lace her book and went outside.

The book was mostly blank except for an allegorical tale about a girl who had a disease that made people hate her, and other Promethean things. Wherever the main character's name was, Kathleen had written KATHLEEN over top of it.

Lace ran out to ask her what was going on, only Kathy was being taken away by a MIB with only a jaw, and everything else all tentacley. Spiderlegs sprouted from where his head was and he took off before I could do anything.

Oh, and we actually managed to get one for study, but it turns out they needed to be alive, and because it was trying to chase after Kathleen, Lace accidentally his heart with a rock.

Only in a relatively tasteful way.

The plot to my Geist game involved a serial killer going around stealing souls, and the female player comforted his soon-to-be-victim when they saved her. She had to walk into the shower with her after she had a breakdown, how she couldn't believe what she'd let him do to her (he had the Compulsion Numina). Her body was tattooed, and she was pierced in the genitals and all that.

The next day, the killer found her (he also had One Step Behind), and fought with the player, beating her half to death, and kidnapping the both of them.

He then pulled out the goth girl's piercings and gave her the same tattoos. Only with a knife instead of ink. When the other players found her, she was chained up naked over a magic circle made of the blood from the original victim, and the cop he escaped from.

Other than that and Lace's shenanigans, not really.

And instead of Maggy having dreams of raping Lace, her's were of how she wasn't good enough for Lace, and how she was pathetic and useless.

I asked for the Torment roll, and every time Lace fails something like this, I get a shit eating grin. Sad though it may be for him, I'm a masochist when it comes to my players.

Though the ST is worse. In Geist, he went into the Underworld alone. He goes through one of the Gates, which requires him to cut off his hand, and goes into a Dead Dominion. He goes to see the Kerberos to learn from him, and he's sent to fetch him water from the River Hun Hunahpu as a tribute. His servant girls are all topless and wearing Egyptian skirts and pierced noses and bald heads and all that, and he sends the runt of them to go with Jack. FIRST THING he does is give her a Plasmic Infusion, to restore her cognizance. She screams out in pain, tearing the stitches that keep her lips shut. She wanted that oblivion, and now that she has thoughts, she's frightened and scared.

So what does he do? He tries to seduce her, to get her away from the Kerberos just because he's a trickster with Coyote for a Geist. Takes her to a nightclub, trades his memories for two Ofrendas (between taking 1Int attribute damage and drinking from Hun Hunahpu twice, he was at -1 Int) and even asks her what she wants most. Of course, she tells him she wants Lethe to take all her memories away.

Feeling like he'd accomplished nothing, he goes back to Akar Hal, and Fiyyah presents him the water of Hun Hunaphu. The Kerberos realizes something is wrong, grabs her by the neck and holds her five feet off the ground, and flings her across the room. Then he grabs Jack, calling him a saboteur and saying he poisoned Fiyyah. Then he gets one of his other servants to cut his hand--the one that isn't a Coyote paw--and force Plasm out.

Akar Hal then dangles him in the air by his hair, and writes SILENCE on his throat in Gravedigger's Cant (which I've turned from Sin-Eater slang to a sort of Underworld language), then forces his mouth open, and brands his tongue. He tells Jack he'll get Fiyyah, as well as his ability to speak, back when he brings him a Deathmask.

The Deathmask was originally going to be the group's reward for this story, but now Jack will have to give it up. He's even sorry that Fiyyah got in trouble, and now wants to save her even more than he wants to get his voice back. It's a major turning point for the character. Though he's still being shady, and hasn't confided in the rest of the group.

I half joking/half seriously mentioned that if Maggy died (Barlowe took her away, and is now taking her to the 'chop shop' of a former Centimani to perform surgery on her eyes) Lace would make her into his Progeny.

Even worse if she becomes a Pandoran, or a Sublimati.

    >>7308116
The sad thing is that everyone else doesn't even know what's going on. Barlowe tried to explain things ("Don't kill people, or you won't be like Pinocchio"), and Kathleen has tried ("you can only make love with someone if you truly love them" of course, when Lace said he did love Maggy, she was like "oh, then that's fine, just try harder"), but mostly no one knows what he's doing and done.

    Quite possibly.

He's a 16 year old body, with the brain of an 8 year old who's mother used him for sex (when asked by Maggy if the thing between his legs was an inny or an outy: "Oh, you mean my cock. Je nais had one too, but mine is part of me, while hers was on a funny pair of underwear").

Not only that, I've purposefully made him next to useless. I took Mental as my primary, but put everything into Resolve but a dot in each of Wits and Intelligence. Weaponry is the only thing I have above 2 dots, and that's so that I can better use Improvised Weapon Fighting and find something at hand to kill people with. I constantly have to All Out Attack, spend Pyros and Willpower and use the object's Breaking Point to be useful at all in combat. Lace's Mental skills are near useless, and all his Social skills are at 1. I even gave him the Flaw "Small Frame", which makes him look like a child, and gives him Size 4 instead of 5.

And yet somehow he's the funnest thing I've ever made.

He's going to try to be better from now on. He might even start wearing pants, and being manly. I planned on having him train with Barlowe to be able to protect Maggy, but then he took her away, and after yelling at him like he did, Lace isn't likely to come to him for help. Joan could probably teach him, though.

This is quite possibly the turning point for Lace, since last session saw him going through some 5 or 6 Milestones.

No, but Kathleen told him that women like manly men, and then gave him a pair of pants. They were uncomfortable and according to the Azoth induced flashback to his time as Clara Sampson, they were made by underprivileged Chinese people.

Lace doesn't like pants, but if he thought doing so would let him protect the people he loves, he would. Pants=manly=protect is how he thinks it works.

Though Kathleen did put him back in a dress, because his Paphoiness is too sexy in jeans and a t-shirt.

There's two good ways to handle rape... as a source of drama, or as a light hearted ice breaker.

Mortals. Work your way out from there. Though, this isn't restricted to WoD. You can do this with any game. WoD does make it easier, I guess.

Grab the nWoD core rulebook, and do some internet research into any of the various supernatural races you might be interested in.

Murder a baby, go to Iraq, develop horrible anxieties and try to interact normally in society. Blame all your failings on yourself.

That'll get you in the right mindset.

Get a date from a mental clinic. Be happy with her, share her interests. Then break up over something neither of you can ignore. Sit alone, drinking to drown the knowledge that somewhere out there, she is alone too, thinking the same. Live in silent hell for weeks, then find out that she died from undiagnosed brain cancer. In agony. As the ailment warped and destroyed the tissue holding information about you and your love. She died as a gibbering wreckage. Then, you wake up, sweaty and panting, and sit in your bed until the dawn. It was just a dream, but it makes you feel hollow on the inside every time you recall it. That's what a good WoD game feels like.

A good WoD game should always have a few truly awesome, heroic moments, though; something to make the grinding misery seem just a little more miserable by comparison.

We haven't found out yet. We probably would have by now, but Lace killed the one that former-Centimani was going to study/interrogate.

I'm thinking clones. Though apparently what Kathleen's markings are is the notes of a mortal Demiurge.

If there was enough time to post, I would tell Barlowe's side of the story, but his isn't as charming.

    Or with as muh Rape.

Worse yet, the ST said he was in the fucking right. It was the right thing to take Maggie away!

I'm the good guy! I have to be the one to bear Lace's proto-hate for as long as I have to!

It not like I was being creepy about it or anything. It's what Galataeids do when they're in Disquiet mode.

I mean, Lace doesn't even realize that what he's doing is wrong until someone tells him "no, Lace, you can't make love with someone who doesn't want you to, even if you want to make them feel good. It doesn't work that way."

The best ending of the story would be a Gnosis 10 Champion of Fire showing up as a living flame and turning everything into a storm of ashes and molten metal.

Perhaps I am being dense(or tired). However, as i understand the game(I'm good with rules), all of the failed ones you listed can still be done(Just with other people). Also, in response to Blackheart: As long as you are not dead(Or double, or triple dead), you can ALWAYS(Said in the book!) fine more Milestones.
