See, I like the Chaos Gods to have a sort of neutrality - they're all about their concept, but they don't care how it is expressed. Slaanesh loves dickgirl rape tentacles, yes, but he also likes happy couples cuddling on Imperial worlds. Khorne loves murder, but he'd rather see total badasses fighting each other than massacring civilians, because there's no challenge, no exertion in killing easy opponents. I see Khorne as all about the challenge - find the most fuckawesome thing you can kill, and kill it to show you can. I think the truth is the idea of any Chaos God having a noble facet has no place. This is 40K, this is the far future of ceaseless war and oppressive misery.

But I think that also serves an important point in making instances of genuine heroism, sacrifice and love all the more poignant. For all the neckbeard rage engendered, stories like LCB and The Woordsman's Son up there are essentially like Noir/Sin City tales. People break with tradition against all odds -and each other. Now I agree, but I think the joke is who GW ends up interpreting Chaos. All of Chaos leads to death: Slaanesh is the God/dess of Horny, but only of fucking yourself/someone else to death. Tzeentch is the God of Hope, but only hope twisted into ambition and anarchic destruction. Nurgle is the god of fortitude, but only so you can get more loaded with diseases -Nurgle never lets go, no one ever gets better from his gifts.
