END OF THE GOD DAMNED WORLD QUEST

It's June 1st, 2011. A few weeks ago, the governments of the world announced the discovery of a strange space anomaly. What appeared to be a cloud of incredibly superheated dust and radiation is on a direct course for earth, set to hit at the end of the year. They said they were prepared for the worse, but the feeling of "REPENT, FOR THE END IS NIGH" crossed with the general 2012 bullshit caused the entire country to go full-retard.

You are: Richard Donaldson, police officer. You were apart of a precinct in L.A, but as the riots continued, more people began panicing as the days went by and order couldn't be restored. This fed into the chaos until all order in the city collapsed. Eventually all your superiors were killed, left, or joined the rioters.

From what news you heard its just as bad in the other cities, and getting worse as it spreads outwards into the suburbs. With nothing really holding you in L.A, you decide to try to get back to your family at Cape Cod, you havent been able to contact them since this started.

You have: One 9mm standard issue pistol, five magazines (17 bullets each), roughly 2 weeks provisions (Food, water, clothing), a CB-radio (its been quiet, but it could pick up again), one of those battery operated police lights you stick on the roof of your car, a car with a spare tire in the trunk, a few spare gas cans (empty), and a full tank of gas.

    WHAT IS YOUR FIRST MOVE?

It seemed that in this case there was a greater concentration of radiation, you didnt understand all of the technical jargon that was used, but you heard the word "sterilized" thrown around quite a few times. In any case, the cloud isnt going to be here for months. The greatest problem is getting out of the city while you still can.

Thats the plan, but first you have to get out of the city.
What makes that difficult is the fact that all the highways are jam packed with stalled/burned out cars, and there are extensive fires Uptown. Downtown is where most of the rioters are at currently, last you heard.

Thats certainly a plan, although the general hostage taking and having a plane flown at gunpoint is something that you were trying to prevent when the police were still operating. You pack you stuff and drive to LAX to see if there is anyway for you to get cross country. Doing your best to keep a low profile, you manage to get to the airport.

    Its a mess.

All the windows looked to be smashed, and aside from the few burning wrecks you can see, it seems that most of the major aircraft have left, although there are smaller aircraft that you can see. You'd have to go through the airport first however.

Theres a small auto-shop nearby, you stash the car in there and close the garage door behind you, this neighborhood was already picked over once, so its unlikely that they will be back, much less for an auto-shop of all things.

You keep your gun in your holster, which should act as a deterrent for anyone who feels lucky (or you could hide in your pants waste band, your choice). You also have your badge, but that could have mixed reactions considering the state of things, so thats in your pocket.

You step into the lobby of LAX, and its even worse on the inside, its like a tornado blew in through here.

From here, you could go to the gates, the food court, or security.

You are estranged from your family. Mom and Dad were old school hippies, and they didnt like the idea that there son was "Gonna be apart of the MACHINE, man", and your sister said that you should had been a doctor and "Not some thug with a nightstick".

When you got the opportunity to take a job at a L.A precinct you decided to get away from all that.

Right now your wishing you had stayed closer to home. They dont live in a major city but they dont believe in firearms so they'd be defenseless if someone tried to do...anything.

    You decide to check security.

Making your way through the general mess and broken glass you find yourself at a door, labeled "SECURITY. EMPLOYEES ONLY."

Just to see if there is anyone in there, TSA or not, you knock gently (No need getting shot in the face for barging in).

Hearing no response you slowly open the door, and look in a-OH HOLY GOD DAMN. A dead security office is slumped dead in front of a bank of camera monitors, with what appears to be a close range shotgun blast wound to the chest. This looks VERY recent, as in a half-hour at most.

After checking that the room is indeed abandoned aside from the body, you close and lock the door behind you.

Examining the body and the room further, it seems that he was indeed shot with a shotgun, you found a spent 12-gauge casing on the floor. The man's badge simply states "George Franklin", and from the empty soda cans and the empty wrappers in the trash he appeared to be hiding out in here since it started.

    His holster is empty.

You manage to find some more candy bars and such, and add it to your own food supply. You also check the small TV in the corner for news, nothing but static on all the channels.

As for the bank of security cameras, it appears to be a confusing mess as you dont understand how its organized, you dont see any other bodies on the screens, and the rest of the airport looks to be as much of a mess as the lobby.

WAIT. you see a man walk into what the monitor calls the "Pilots lounge". You didnt see him fast enough to see if he had a gun or not, though.

You do a last minute check for anything useful before heading out, you see froma map on the wall that the Pilots Lounge has two entrances, the main entrance that connects to the main hallway that regular people use, and the employee entrance. The man used the regular entrance, so you decide to take the other entrance to surprise him if you need too.

Heading across the trashed airport with your hand on your gun you constantly check the corners and connecting hallways, seeing no other people or other bodies.

After making your way to the employee entrance, you crouch by the door with you gun out. You slowly as possible open the door a crack to look inside.

Theres shotgun man, and he has two friends and a hostage. None of them have seen you yet.

"Naw, its nothin' but busted glass n' shit up and down the whole damn building"

The bat thug swings his head over to you, but its too late. You fire twice into the upper back of the shotgun thug, and as he falls, the shotgun goes off in his hands into the foot of the one with the pistol.

The pistol thug jumps up and down on one foot screaming until you shoot him twice in the chest and he falls as well.

the point, OP, in chasing after him is to take his ass out.

he knows we exist. he knows the pilot exists. he knows the pilots plan. he knows we are hostile (to him).

HE MIGHT HAVE FRIENDS. HE MIGHT TALK. ALL INTELLIGENCE LEAKS MUST BE PLUGGED.

A Cessna? If he means a 172 (the most popular), that'll only get us as far as Alberquerque or Salt Lake City. A 182 could get us to Denver, though a 150 could only get us to Phoenix. We're going to need to make a few stops, in any case.
We should go to Salt Lake. They're mormons, they'll be friendly.

Deciding to use the shotgun (You've only got 7 shots make em count if you gotta use em), you and Brian make your way to the Tarmac.

The two of you find a door that leads outside, you again crack it open for a better look. The suns starting to go down, so you should have some shadows to stick to as you cross.

Brian points out the hanger his plane is in. Its not fair, so you should be alright as you make your way.

The Tarmac is actually eerily abandoned, aside from the burning husk of a 747 (it appears that someone set it on fire for the fun of it, rather than it being an accident.

Inside the hanger, Brian finds his plane, with the words "S.S NIGGER TITS" spray painted on the side in bright red.

    "Aw man"

"So, uh, tell me about your family" you ask over the engine, as the plane slowly moves out of the hanger and onto the Tarmac. "Got a wife, Jessica, I'm not worried though, she'd send an army of idiots running with one mean look" he jokes, but there is a worried undercurrent in his voice, so you switch the subject.
"What do you think about this 'End of the World' bullshit?" "Oh, it'll be nothing, you watch, and then we'll have to clean up after the lunatics."

The two of you continue to chat while the plane gathers speed, eventually getting airborne.

Brian makes one pass over the airport, giving you a better view of the city. Uptown has become an Inferno, and Downtown doesnt look any better, with mobs of people running the streets in total chaos.
