You are preparing to deal with the demon threat. So far, you brought eleven faithful servants into your realm, giving them bodies of enchanted glass and divine fire, which grant them exceptional strength and endurance. You have also designed siege weapons to rain fiery wrath upon the demons. Hagran is currently creating them in his workshop.

On the material plane, you had your followers create statues of glass for your servants to inhabit, should their assistance be needed.
You also created the first lindorm from common reptiles, giving them the form of a serpent with forelimbs and promising them a greater form, that of a dragon or a sea serpent, once they mature. The lindorms are willing to protect humans and your followers treat them with respect. There should be no conflict between the two races.
The lindorm do not breed true yet, their offspring will be the common reptiles they were created from. You will, however, bless every newborn lindorm with the same form you bestowed on the first generation.
You have also considered giving them the ability to breath fire, but perhaps a weapon more easily usable underwater would be a better choice.

You have made contact with The Serpent, which is magic itself, alive and sentient. It does not wish to interfere, however, as no event in this reality can affect it. You managed to learn the secret of chanelling magic easier and faster from it, increasing your power.
You taught your followers of it, which increased the capabilities of your Art wielders and allowed many others to master the basics of Art. Lindorms in particular turned out to be adept at wielding magic.

You control six islands now and have major influence on another seven. Other islands are still controlled by the Masters.

You had your people prepare for an assault from the sea, building fortifications and retreats. You also sought out canditates for becoming paladins, protectors of your people. Their training is already taking place.

You work to improve human society through your teachings. You promote the development of architecture and art, the design of a more civilised law system, spread the alphabet you designed. You put emphasis on sharing knowledge, rather than hoarding it to oneself.

You had your islands mapped out. The six under your control include:
Three medium-sized islands focused on agriculture, including the one where your religion came into being. Each is home to about a thousand people. The inhabitants are "average" humans.

The home island of Zhuang's people, smaller than others, home to fifteen hundred, many of them living underground. It has mining facilities on it, providing stone and metal. Their farms barely allow them self-sufficiency, so they often trade metal crafts for food. Due to the recent events, mining has been halted, as many fear that servants of the Masters might find a way to enter the mines.

Two islands inhabited by Ligish's kin, though not their homeland. These are large, but relatively uninhabited, home to three or four hundred people each. The islands are heavily forested and wood is their primary trade good. Ligish's people are also famous for their shipwrighting skills.

You still need time to gather information about the other seven islands.

Depending on how easy it is to make airships (rune-magic to help them fly?), we might still be reliant on ocean-going ships to maintain links between the islands. As such, what measures can we take to protect these vessels against attack by the Masters or their minions?

How specific can we get with the rune-magic? Is it effectively like a programming language for magic, or are there a limited number of runes with limited effects? Teaching our shipbuilders runes that'll make their vessels safer and less vulnerable to sinking, swamping, capsizing or whatever would be a good plan - they carve the runes into the keel, and their ship is protected henceforth.

Likewise, runes carved into the hulls that'll ward off the Masters' mind-bending powers, if possible.

As far as geography goes, how are these islands arranged with respect to one another? Which islands are central and thus obvious trade hubs, which islands are more on the fringes? Where is our starting island (which I think is growing into something of a cultural centre) in relation to the rest? How far apart are they, on average? Does our archipelago constitute the entirety of the Known World, or is there any sign that there might be other lands beyond the horizon?

Taking a look at available territory, cultivatable land and suchlike resources, can we make an estimate of how many people this archipelago could sustainably support?

So, we're bringing the archipelago pretty much entirely under our influence. Civilisation is advancing pretty quickly, which could lead to some degree of unrest and uncertainty, I think - unless people are coming to view it as being the start of a Golden Age, what with our protection and knowledge and stuff being spread far and wide.

The downside about having a Golden Age is that there's almost always something that comes along to fuck it up. We need to be on guard against that.

How deeply can we probe the Abyss? Because while we're doing pretty well at picking off those demons who come to the surface, I'm worried there might be something stronger and nastier and more dangerous growing in the depths.

Your starting island is on the fringes of the archipelago, which allowed you to escape notice. The city-island is central to this part of the archipelago, the other ones surround it. Further islands are located southwards.

The six islands you control could support as much as ten thousand people, with Shyla's blessings. The other seven - probably the same amount, though their current total population is around the six thousand mark.

Runes aren't flexible, unfortunately. A specific set of symbols has a specific effect. It seems there are no general rules for this.

Teach it to our warriors and mages.
See to it that it's inscribed into the warriors armor/weapons and being official Symbol for 'em.

Outfit every Orm that's going on the mission with Shyla's symbol and teach them how to make it of course.

That could work. How well can we kit out the Lindorms while still allowing them to function underwater? Some kind of enchantment to allow them to breathe underwater if they don't have that as an innate ability, plus some way to defend against the Masters' brainwashing powers.

Also, is it metagaming to be suspicious about the mucus that Otto noticed when we were down there the first time?
