You have recieved the 2,000,000 units of fuel in exchange for nineteen pieces of technology. You offered six sizes of drone, one hybrid of drone, three chassis types and ten pieces of weaponry, not selling them the bits that Subprocessor Irony enjoyed keeping to himself.

Joanna is currently having the construction drones install anti-pollutant methods.

S70 offers to have a copy of his personality stay behind and manage the bases

A Destroyer, complete with fusion batteries, has been created.

Planner 01 and Planner 02 have been created. Planner 01 is dedicated to sensory functions of your fleet while Planner 02 is dedicated to maintaining shields.

All of your stealth suits are also complete.

I think that we should keep the refracting design in mind for our bigger ships, the ones where it would be more efficient to do that instead of turning the ship. So right now the Destroyer and Cruisers are probably the only ship that would make any sense.

And the chaos thing is why we'd be devoting an AI to that function.

    1 locomotion slot (Propulsion Engine)

This could be used for suicidally blocking enemy attacks and ferrying intelligence between ships, since the energy shields will block communications.

We don't currently have that technology. I am fully in support of throwing a research order at it, but it will have to be completed on board one of our ships, since we'll be gone before it's done. Hell, research all the kinds of shield tricks that you can come up with... energy shields that block everything except what our ships are armed with might be a good start.

Can we put completed heavy weapons satellites in the cargo bays of our ships? If so, I would like to put several hundred of them, armed with the full spectrum of weaponry, onboard our fleet.

    you want k-kill weapons?

remember that inertialess FTL? put that on an object, any object really, so long as it can survive re-entry. Probably just want enough room for the fuel and giudance systems, let's keep it cheap.

Set the thing to fly towards the target as fast as it can. As the object goes faster and faster it's mass increases (thanks to relativity), and as it passes the speed of light it basicly has infinite mass. that mass slams into a planet and..

lets just say that fragments of that planet the size of the moon will probably head off at c-fractional speeds.

Ideally, with only a single locomotion slot and very little else, it'll be ridiculously fast off the bat, and it won't need to dock to relay messages to the ship, just hover within shield range.

When it's moving at .99c the extra mass has negligible effect. All it means is that the slag of the target will be slightly more melted than it would have been without the kill vehicle being armored.

EMP: probably good if they don't have r-sheilding, which means it'll be useless (spaceship without sheilded equipment = worthless)
Thermobaric/napalm/HE: all useless, with no atmosphere to carry a shockwave it'll do no damage.
All gas based ones: lol no
I think that our only option for missile payloads is just kinetic warheads (large block of metal) and maybe bomb-pumped gamma laser warheads (nuke goes off ~10km short of target, energy channeled into super-powerful lasers) which probably requires some research, which we have no time for.

Something in space flashes briefly as a gigantic object leaves hyperspace. It looks more than a gigantic spacestation, riddled with hangers and defensive weaponry. The plating is painted white, with a large blue star pictured on the front. This is a ship of such fine craftmanship, TradeStar felt the need to name it after themselves.

Currently, however, the fleet is hiding on the other side of the planet, with you and all of your companions in it, excluding the copy of Samson 70.
TradeStar wishes to communicate with you.

    4) once the boarding team is in, the fleet gives us 30 seconds to make it deeper in the ship, then resumes the attack, if the boarding team fails, the fleet will need all the the help they can get.

Five minutes past as your assault craft close in - TradeStar doesn't appear to have noticed them. In fact, Harry Garrish calls up, to begin to taunt you.

"How does it feel, knowing that you're going to die in the next five minutes and there's nothing you can do about it? That the situation is completely and utterly hopeless, with no beneficial outcome? There is no profit you can gain from this. There is no way out. You will die, and with you, so will the secrets that you have stolen. Perhaps Hajjar failed as a research facility, but I will not--"
"... Sir! We're picking up multiple stealthed targets, closing in!"
    "What?!"

The transmission is immediately cut off. The hundred weapons batteries covering the TradeStar immediately swivel around - before they lock on to the approximate location of your stealthed assault craft. Then, they begin their barrage of pulse laser fire that simply lands on the shields like rain on glass, surrounding your stealthed craft with crimson spheres.

Then, it clearly becomes just too much. You pick up one of the energy shields on an assault craft overheating. Then another. The first craft's shield overloads and is immediately torn apart with pulse fire, the second craft about to be blown into oblivion.

Do we have any ground-based missiles? Launch all of them as a distraction.

Also, who was on the transport that just got hit?

Also, Planner 01, your sensory AI, pipes up.

"I am detecting TradeStar cargo shuttles go online - there are approximately twenty-five shuttles in each of the hangers present on the TradeStar! A standard TradeStar contains fifty hangars! Fifty multiplied by twenty-five is one thousand, two hundred and fifty! That's one thousand, two hundred and fifty cargo shuttles, going online!"

Well, at least she's happy about it.

Forgot to add: if we finished researching Refraction Field, our assault ships had damn well better start using that shit now before they get fried.

Covering fire, now! Gamma cascade sweep the ship, lightning and plasma hyperweapons to make convenient holes for boarding.

Let's bring more of our fleet into this.

Plasma, ETA to get 12 cruisers, and all fighters and gunboats to the tradestar?
    >> Subcontractor McAtt 09/25/09(Fri)00:36 No.5998017
Destroyers begin targeting weapon emplacements while moving. The rest of the fleet that's not currently engaged begin providing distracting fire. Depending on the distance between the destroyers and TradeStar, we might even be able to prevent them from getting hit.

I'm fucking sitting on that Gamma Button right about now.

And start firing everything at the hangar bay doors. We want to be able to hit those ships before they can disperse.

    >Plasma, ETA to get 12 cruisers, and all fighters and gunboats to the tradestar?
Each of the freighters gets an escort cruiser. Don't move those. That gives us six cruisers to work with- should be plenty, and if it's not we've still got a sizable fleet getting away.

You're right, though. All fighters, open fire on their defensive batteries. Cruisers, pop their parasite craft as they launch with everything you've got.

That''ll be approximately one minute - by that point, you estimate you have a maximum of five assault craft remaining, ready to board.
    >> Anonymous 09/25/09(Fri)00:39 No.5998056
And let's look for an unprotected thermal exhaust port, just in case.

Our weapons have great range, for the most part. If we have the destroyers moving in random patterns about a light-second away, we'll be able to hit he TradeStar while making it very hard to hit us.
    >> Anonymous 09/25/09(Fri)00:39 No.5998058

Hit the hangar doors if they have them, seal them up tight. If not just cause as much external damage to the hangers. We can always repair it later, if necessary.

Why aren't we now providing cover fire for our boarding ships. Target the turrets first before anything else. And why didn't I put any skill points into Firearms, I'm not a combat engineer, I'm a fucking scientist.

Also, we're using inertialess FTL drives for our big ships, right?

Have our destroyers plot a microjump that literally puts them right on top of the fucking TradeStar and then have them Gamma and EMP like there's no tomorrow the instant they get there.
