    Welcome back to Corp Quest.
In this number-crunching quest, each poster is a member of a tiny subcontracting firm that works for TradeStar, a super-corporation in the far future. Your job is initiate a massive mining project on a planet that TradeStar has unofficially named 'Hajjar'. Once you have reached the level of production stated in the first thread, your mission will be complete and you will be allowed to leave the planet, with enough cash to keep you in luxury for the rest of your lives.
However, there are problems. The natives are hostile and there are several other corporations looking to exploit the planet and looking to exploit you. How you deal with these threats is up to you.
Recently, many things have happened. You have personally overseen the destruction of the central brain of the virus and you have extracted all sorts of technology that you were not meant to. You have by far exceeded the expectations of your employers and in a way that they will not like. You've successfully stranded a group of pirates on an island. AlphaRange has managed to reach their slave quota and are leaving the planet; the subcontractors that once worked with them now wish to team up with you. You're beginning to figure out what sort of ship you want to construct as well. You're also putting a major dent on the crashed Mothership, slowly disassembling it completely with your massive mining program - only 70% of the structure remains. All in all, things in Corp Quest are about to reach an end-game.

Before I continue, however, I would like the gentlemen who want to contribute to this quest to post. After I am sure a couple of people are interested, I will begin.

    250,000 UNITS Fuel Tank
    100 Persons Living Space
    100 Synth Space

5x Reinforced Plating (also with kinetic and energy shields when we have them, as well as radiation shielding, which we NEED to develop. Also, cloaking technology.)

    Smaller ship:

    500,000 TONS Cargo Space
    100,000 UNITS Fuel Tank
    50 Persons Living Space
    50 Synth Space
    5 Onboard Construction Facilities

Here's a little diagram of my small escape ship plan.

If/when TradeStar confronts us, we've got that big ass ship up there to distract them. We put our clones onboard, already dead, or braindead, or whatever. That way if the ship is blown down, we're dead in TradeStar's eyes.

But really, we're in the smaller ships, cloaked to the max, and hiding either around the moons or on the opposite side of the planet.

Also, we should boobytrap our HQ's and the TradeStar bunker in case we have to abandon the planet.

Another tech. lab could be built for this.

Also, since you're in the process of inventing an energy shield, you can also design the shield so it also blocks high frequency rays - like gamma rays.

And since you're also dedicated to blocking out lasers, it also blocks out a portion of the spectrum. No red light will be able to go through the shield. Essentially, this will render your sensors partially colour-blind.

That's the problem if you design an energy shield that blocks out practically anything and everything, like the one around the brain.

On one hand, nothing gets in, nothing comes out.

On the other hand, an energy shield that prevents heat from passing through the shield and that stops every frequency in the damn EM spectrum basically renders all of your ships sensors useless and its communication useless.

Weapon slot. A single shield covers the entire ship.

As for your raid, you're starting with the various gases. The various primates become aware of a distant hum slowly draw closer and closer - and then the gas falls and the gas begins to spread. Those not yet engulfed by the gas however, take advantage of it. Dozens of them scream and point at where the rising clouds are disturbed by the intakes of your VTOL drones and they begin to throw stones. Small rocks and larger rocks, the majority of which rattle through the intakes harmlessly. But then, some get jammed, disturbing the process, a handful of drones falling from the heavens and crashing. More and more stones are being thrown, the air full of gas and rock. The stupid monkeys are actually inflicting some damage on your drones, throwing the sand they collected up into the air to help spot the cloaked drones.

This is the last bastion of the natives - and they're not about to go down without a fight.

Synthetic flesh drones are much more fragile - but much more human. They make for very effective spies and you can basically manufacture doppelgangers of individuals.
The Secretary AI is an intelligent but highly restricted sentient AI. Basically used for taking care of its owner and managing communications for its owner.
The Planner AI is even more restricted - and even more intelligent. It optimally plans out every single detail, accounting for every tiny little flaw and every possible thing that could go wrong.
The Geologist AI is the ultimate AI when it comes to maximum efficiency in construction.
Mobile habitats are habitats capable of moving between locations.
Super habitats can house a thousand instead of two hundred.
Ration synthesizers manifest basic rations and basic food.

Transmutation nanites can be programmed to transform one type of material into another - for example, metal into rust, iron into gold, water into wine, etc, etc.
    The rest you know.

We did research improved kinetic shields, which should theoretically block any movement of matter even down to a chemical level. That said, I don't know that our personal shields have that level of sophistication.

Regarding the choice of technology, I'm inclined to get a planner AI. It could be invaluable- basically, it sounds to me like GM advice on whatever topic we tell it to plan for.

Samson needs to sneak around and find out whatever the fuck it is they found. Discretion is key. If he does find out what it is, he needs to contact us and say so. If there's some kind of research or notes about it, he should copy them down. Stealing it would be pretty obvious.

Other than that, whether or not he finds out their big secret, he should use this opportunity to try and find any other information he can swipe. Again, discretion is key.

Samson 70 isn't transmitting anything - no communication at all. Not even a camera feed. The drone is officially operating completely independently of your systems as he explores the research facility - all sorts of rare plants are being confined, sliced open corpses of the various primates of various genders in various conditions are all on display to Samson, there are dozens of warheads filled with all sorts of payloads and finally, an incredibly secure glass chamber that contained what looks like an unearthed generator of some sort - a fuel compartment where the process is started, but another compartment that matter is inserted within. Several cables lead out for it, obviously meant to be connected to other structures.

Notes indicate that the generator allows for the highly controlled annihilation of matter, converting it into energy at a rate that most benefits the person in possession of the facility. Of course, the matter-to-energy transfer isn't 100% efficient, but it still far above anything that the other factions are currently capable of.

Samson 70 downloads this information and prepares to leave while Jeremy waves his hand, dismissing what you're saying. "No need for you to worry - we're the scientists, we'll take care of this stuation completely. We understand the concept of what you want, yes - the starship without a pilot. Now, is there anything else that you want? Any technology that interests you? Apart from our latest find, of course - I apologize, but you really can't have access to that."

    A couple technology ideas...

We have stealth suit schematics. I would like to take those, our improved cloaking, improved sensor schematics, jump jets off the power suits, personal kinetic shields, power blade schematics, gravatic manipulators, gamma weapons, and EMP weapons, and shove them all into one "heavy infiltrator suit" package. Is this possible?

Then, research tiny (coin sized) drones with heavy cloaking, cameras, wall-crawling abilities, and the ability to detonate in a large ball of plasma (or something else destructive, if more practical). Our infiltrators can take a few of these with them and drop them around as lookouts/sentry bombs.

We might come up with some form of creative use, or we might be able to trade away the lesser capabilities to someone else we meet in the future.
