Your character is one of the only Changelings who isn't completely, totally, irrevocably fucked up by his/her Durance, which means that she/he is now the only person in the entire freehold who isn't either a borderline psychotic or an ALL THE WAY psychotic.

Either Fairest or Beast, possibly Dual Kithed. Her durance would have been spent being fought over as a plaything for a vicious wolf and a mad woman.

She was finally eaten by The Big Bad Wolf, but was rescued in the nick of time by The Woodsman, a strong jawed, handsome Ogre, working escaping from his keeper, who made him chop down trees constantly to make way for his ever expanding castle. He chopped the Big Bad Wolf apart, and rescued the Little Girl in Red, taking her back through the Hedge.

A couple of concepts that I rolled, but never got to play:
-A Water-Dweller Ogre Garbageman. His Fae Mien has him with slimy, grey flesh, large, black eyes, and an angler fish-like mouth. His Mask is not much better looking as he's more of a "man-like shape" in a jumpsuit and large, thin mouth. Works for the local crime syndicate (depending on where the game is set) by picking up and disposing of unwanted bodies. He never asks questions and he doesn't charge anything. His friends at work can't stand to look at him, but the meals that he brings in for the guys make their nights just a little less horrible.

I also based a Darkling off of a Filipino folktale warning expecting mothers to stay away from windows as they sleep or lizard-like creatures will spirit away her child. Turns out that it's true; they due take unborn children and the mother is taken along for the ride before being discarded like a bubble-wrap.
I would go into it more, but it's a bit of wall-o-text.

The Big Bad Wolf and the Little Old Lady both claimed ownership over The Little Girl in Red. Whether they were consciously forcing the story, or if it just happened isn't known or relevant. The Little Old Lady kept her in a cottage on the outskirts of the Deep Woods, and she'd make The Little Girl in Red bring her food through the treacherous woods every day. If she didn't have it by 2 o'Clock, sharp, then The Little Girl in Red (who after so many repetitions of it had forgotten her name) would be severely punished, forced to live out in the woods. Whenever this happened, it would always be raining.
The Big Bad Wolf would often follow her, often leading her astray or keeping her from her task. Sometimes the road would distort, sometimes he would snatch her away and do terrible things to her. Whenever he did, the Little Old Lady showed no mercy. All the while, the two fought over their slave. The Little Old Lady wanted The Little Girl in Red to bring her food every day from the cottage down the lane (though she would never dream of living there instead of in the middle of the woods), and the Big Bad Wolf wanted to ravish her day and night, and would try to eat her.
One day, the Big Bad Wolf snuck into the cottage of the Little Old Lady and chopped her up. It wasn't an unusual thing to happen when the pair's fights escalated. He fed her bloody steaks to The Little Girl in Red, and then he made her undress and get in bed with him. When he was finished with what he wanted, he gobbled her up in a single bite.
It was at this time that The Deep Woodsman, a handsome and rugged Ogre Gargantuan, was escaping. He had been forced into clearing the lands of his master, so that the sprawling castle labyrinth could continue, increasing it's size forever.

    >>5893870
When the Deep Woodsman heard the screams of the Little Girl in Red, he came as quickly as he could. He kicked in the door, and he found The Big Bad Wolf covered in girl's blood, her clothes strewn about the floor. Acting quickly, he used his trusty hatchet and wacked and hacked and sliced at the wolf. First went his tail, then his paws, and last his head. When the Big Bad Wolf lay dead, he took out his knife and cut free the Little Girl in Red.
The Deep Woodsman cared for her and nursed her back to health, and when she was better, he carried her on his great back out of the Deep Woods, and through the Hedge. When they got back to the real world, they were separated. Now, the Little Girl in Red, calling herself Rosette, looks for her strong Deep Woodsman, trying to find him wherever she might. With only dreams of being cut free of the wolf by a kind stranger, and riding on his massive shoulders, she searches for her true love.

Plot Twist: No, you are not playing Little Red Riding Hood. You are playing the Big Bad Wolf, a Beast changeling. Your Durance was to stop your Keeper, the Little Girl in Red, from frolicking across the woods and into a gulag-cottage where she would force-feed other mortal captives with poisoned food. This turned out to be a lot harder than it sounded at first. You never succeeded once.

"'Did she head north, south, east, or west this time?' That's the first thing I always asked myself when I came to during the dawn. It was a new outdoor hell each time, often a classic deciduous forest, sometimes a boreal taiga, and more than once a tropical jungle. Whatever it was, I had to follow her trail to wherever she had placed down the gulag in this iteration of the twisted game. She always had a head start, and ofttimes got an even bigger one if she had decided that the fruits and berries near my waking spot were the kind to leave me convulsing and vomiting for half an hour. The thing about tracking down this little girl was that her dainty little Mary Janes left few footprints and marks of passage, and the wilderness of Arcadia was never a lonely place."

I am, alas, far too slothful to write more. I am picturing a Beast of the Hunterheart kith vaguely along the lines of Naked Snake in Metal Gear Solid 3, a jaded outdoorsman with a severe case of PTSD. He would have ample dots in Wits, Resolve, Dexterity, Composure, Athletics, Brawl, and Survival.

Well, Survival is admittedly of less importance in an urban setting, though you would still have your considerable Athletics and Brawl skills to bear. Say you have Strength 4, Dexterity 2, Athletics (Archery) 4, Fightan' Style (Archery) 2, a compound bow, and some self-crafted bodkin arrows. That would add up to 4 + 2 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 13 dice, ignores Defense, Armor Piercing 4, which is not too shabby for a starting character, as much as it is surely no multiattacking monstrosity. If you are deprived of your bow, you would still have, say, Brawl (Claws) 4 for 8 dice of unarmed lethal damage as a backup weapon. You could make a fine wolf-Rambo, although your stealthiness would be wanting.

    >>5894475

Little Red herself would really be up to the individual player, specifically, how the player envisions what she was like as a mortal and what talents she honed during her durance. She could have been an aloof nerd, an active and athletic lady, a caring mother figure, anything works, really. Mechanically, you would be best off investing in Presence, Expression, Intimidation, and the Striking Looks 4 (what an adorable girl~) merit, as those traits are what the Contracts of Vainglory call for. Alternatively, if you wish for a more Physical-based incarnation along the lines of B.B. Hood (the lass in >>5894211), bringing to bear abilities straight from wuxia films and the Matrix, you could look into the Contracts of Separation from Winter Masques, which rely upon Dexterity, Presence, Larceny, and Persuasion. Both of these contracts would be affinity contracts for the Fairest.

I would also say perhaps a dot of Survival would be fitting, given the outdoor nature of the classic tale.

I would say she would be a Fairest. Little Red was never an animal. Additionally, upon reading >>5894666's remark, I would say that a Physical-focused incarnation of the girl would make the most sense. After all, a nigh-eternal cycle of being forced through a harsh forest while hounded by a fae wolf is more likely to teach one the art of treading lightly, stealthfully, and swiftly than social graces meant for a ballroom. Go with Contracts of Separation 4, Dexterity 4, Presence 4, and do invest in a Dexterity-based combat skill to make the most of your agility, such as Firearms or Weaponry (Knives) with Fighting Finesse 2.

Additionally, should you go with the Physical-centric angle for Little Red, the Dancer kith would be ideal to represent these talents.

If you are dropped into a magical forest, amongst a Fortean bestiary of savage flora and fauna, and are forced to fend for yourself in this fae wilderness, you are far more likely to develop yourself into being Naked Snake than an academician or a socialite.

Page 90 of the Armory explains that bows and crossbows may be fired through either Athletics or Firearms. In the new World of Darkness, Tiger Woods and Ian Thorpe can channel Legolas and place an arrow or bolt through the heart of a man with the greatest of ease.

While we speak of athletes in the nWoD, did you know that characters in this system move twice as fast as D&D characters? One turn in nWoD is equal to 3 seconds, and a character with 2 Strength and 3 Dexterity can move 10 yards with a single move action, or 20 yards with a double move. Meanwhile, one round in D&D is 6 seconds long, and your typical character can move 30 feet with a move action, or 60 feet with a double move. Therefore, nWoD characters are extreme speedsters by birthright.

OP: Everything he said? Use that as stats for The Deep Woodsman.

I say Physical should be secondary or tertiary. Focus on Social or Mental. A Fairest with Mental Primary would be nice. I'd say a bit of Academics, Occult (Fairy Tales), Craft (Cooking), a bit of Athletics, a bit of Survival, maybe a dot of Brawl. High Stealth, maybe a little Larceny. I can't imagine the things she'd get the ingredients from would be easy. I'm thinking little flowers with fangs that gnaw on any would-be-poachers who aren't fast enough to grab the prize at the bottom of the stem. She almost lost a finger the first time, before she was able to pick that flower's pocket, but now she can reach in and grab it without it even realizing.
She'd have some Animal Ken (Wolves), not that it saved her from being treated so terribly. Expression, especially if she's a Muse or Dancer, and tried to keep her spirits up by singing. Empathy would be high as well, I guess.
Merits you're on your own. Though I might suggest some kind of Token given to her by the Deep Woodsman if they ever got lost, to use only in an emergency.

So even someone with 1 Strength and 1 Athletics can jump 6 feet.

Shit, it was on the tip of my tongue. I know there's the Chatelaine kith, though. They get 9 again on Social Skills that involve etiquette and proper social practice. Even when using Presence, which gets rid of their drawback.
I'd say it's either nothing that needs to be rolled, or maybe Athletics.

Because she doesn't need to run from it, she just needs to stay on track. Besides, it's not like any amount of physical will save her anyway.

I'd say it amounts to a few dots in Athletics, not being a berserker packing girl and a half. Secondary would be fine, but I don't really see The Little Girl in Red being stronger than maybe 2 dots in Strength.

She also doesn't fend for herself. She's given quite a bit of free time compared to other changelings. She lives in the cottage at the edge of the woods, and brings the Little Old Lady food. The idea is basically like a castle where the servants deliver, only the castle is the woods. Only getting the ingredients would be difficult, but only picking-flowers-that-bite difficult. Other times she'd be reading books or talking to squirrels or something.

What you seek is the Drudge kith from page 96 of Winter Masques:
    >Drudge — The lowest and most menial of Wizened, Drudges were given the most unpleasant tasks to perform. They suffered all the privations and modifcations of their fellow Wizened, and did not even learn a faerie trade in return. Drudges are the long-suffering inheritors of house elves, domovoi and other such faeries. However, not all had their spirits broken in Arcadia, and some managed to slip away through the Thorns before their negligent Keepers noticed their absence.
    >The Drudge was designed to provide Unseen Labor: by spending a Glamour point, the character may complete any relatively simple task in a fraction of the time, as long as no mortal watches her do so. The task cannot require more than fve successes on an extended roll to complete; the Drudge could fx something simple quickly, but not repair a badly damaged car. The time required for the task is equal to the original time required divided by the character’s Wyrd +1; even the weakest Drudge can cut a feld or clean a house in half the time it would normally take. In addition, the Drudge gains the beneft of the 9 again rule to Stealth rolls; she is easily overlooked.

As for what Attribute and Skill would be most suitable for the banal task of housecleaning, I would wager that it would be an extended action of Dexterity + Crafts, each roll representing one hour of work. The target number of successes would be equal to the Resources dots it would take to purchase the residence, or alternatively, the Size dots of the haven/sanctum/hollow/haunt.

Page 66 of the Armory Reloaded delineates that Fighting Style: Fencing (Aggressive Light Sword) "also applies to any stick that’s three to four feet long. It can be used in conjunction with a cane (for singlestick or French la canne fighting), Trinidadian stick fighting or Irish shillelagh." So, if you really wanted to, you could take Dexterity 4, Fighting Finesse 2, a few dots in this Fighting Style, and then perform fencing maneuvers through a four-foot-long mop or broom. This is just a wild suggestion, so feel free to ignore it if it does not suit your concept.

    Instead use Improvised Weapon Fighting.
Then your mop can do lethal damage. And you can fight with things like irons and ironing boards.

Alternatively, if you wish to wield a longer mop or broom in two hands, you could invest in Fighting Style: Langschwert (Heavy Sword) from pages 83-84 of the Armory Reloaded, which "work in conjunction with a Size 3 or 4 blade or staff". This is a Strength-based style, however, and so investing in it would detract in your skills as a Perfect Maid.

    >>5897003

Fighting Style: Improvised Weaponry is incompatible with both Fighting Style: Fencing (Aggressive Light Sword) and Fighting Style: Langschwert (Heavy Sword). Improvised Weaponry provides you with a Size 1, 1(L) weapon, whereas Fencing calls for a Size 2 blade or stick and Langschwert requires a Size 3 or 4 blade or staff. Additionally, Moulinet and Doubling Cut are ultimately superior to Breaking Point as far as capstone maneuvers go.

Not necessarily. That's just the first dot, and that's for finding weapons. Or is it second? I think the first negates the -1 penalty.

We had an entire campaign based on Little Red Riding Hood set in 1920's Dustbowl America, operating out of a travelling carnival that was defending trods.

I'd gone Fairest Draconic, and started to embody the iconic woodsman more and more, often going so far as to dress up in a flannel shirt and search for an axe to get +1 versus wolves.

    It was an awesome campaign.

The first dot lets you roll Wits + Weaponry as a reflexive action on your turn to locate an improvised weapon. A success means you locate a 1(L), Size 1, Durability 2, Structure 3 weapon; an exceptional success results in a 2(L), Size 2, Durability 2, Structure 4 weapon. The second dot of the Fighting Style is a token parrying maneuver, and the third dot allows you to destroy your weapon to empower an All-Out Attack. Flavorful and fun, though mop fighting proves the winner in the end.

I recently played a Changeling game with my friends and actually managed to ad-lib a pretty decent character. He was abducted by the gentry as an infant, so he thinks that the fae lands are "normal." Since he was never given a name and had to manage a bunch of violent/sexually deviant keys he simply thought of himself as "Go Get The Keys" because that's what everyone always said to him. I also had a lot of fun when our characters were escaping because I could legitimately say in character "I want to go home!" and make a derail attempt. Good stuff.

According to her profile (http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Yuugi_Hoshiguma), her ability is the "power to control supernatural phenomena". This is never explained once, never mentioned in her dialogue once, and never demonstrated once. If one follows the story to letter, Fairest makes the most sense.

Of course, if one wanted to change it a little, Beast would make some measure of sense as well, In this case more of the Wolf than the Lady would have rubbed off on Red.

Beast-Red might be able to do away with the Huntsman part of the myth (which was added in anyways - the original ended in her demise) and have her escape have her do the RIP AND TEAR on her captures and then bolt like a motherfucker.

Aren't there still two more dots?
And if you already have a weapon, then it would be best to treat the broom as a Size 2, 2(L) blablabla weapon.

Also it can deal Lethal, whereas the other one can't.

I'm assuming the decent comments are things like how dicepools work. Unless they mean the experience rubrik, but that's completely unrelated to anything.

Ad-libbing WoD characters is fun. One of my players had no ideas for a Geist, and I ended up making a character that I thought was really awesome. I want to use him for a Hunter game one day. A crazy homeless schizaphrenic who fights monsters with a wooden sword to protect his son, who thinks he's dead. And of course, then he does die, and he becomes a Geist and binds to his son, armoured in tin cans and trashcan lids, with the same wooden sword used as his Keystone.

Go with Fairest, it fits the concept better. She'd no longer be The Little Girl in Red if she was more lupine. Even if she was a Beast, I'd say go with something more like a rabbit or a squirrel, or just some generic woodland seeming creature.

    >>5898083
    >(which was added in anyways - the original ended in her demise)
It did not. Never once have I seen this anywhere other than places that claim to be the 'real' versions of the story.
She slipped out on her on, was never eaten by the wolf. This is the original version pre-Perrault. She had to go to the bathroom so the Wolf tied a string to her, and she slipped it onto something else when she was out of sight and ran away.

Fighting Style: Improvised Weaponry does not allow you to upgrade an existing improvised weapon's damage to lethal.

    >Also it can deal Lethal, whereas the other one can't.
Lethal damage is superior to bashing, yes, although double attacking or delivering automatic damage with a bashing weapon tends to surpass even lethal daamge.

I asked if there were two more.
This would mean that you haven't explained them all.

    >Sin-eater
No, it was an idea for his Geist, did you not read what I wrote?
His Sin-Eater is a track star who died by being crushed in the bleachers.
His Geist is The Forgotten Knight, a hobo in 'kitchenaid armour" who fights with a wooden sword. His helmet is a bent trash can lid that obscures his face in shadow except for two bottle tops. He died by falling asleep on a grate and burning to death. When he was alive he was sort of a reverse Don Quixote.

The sword is fake and the monsters aren't.

Like I said, it's people's tendency to overassume the actual grimness of it.

Check the wiki article on it, it doesn't mention her being eaten except when the woodsman chops her out, and that's for the express purpose of having her saved by a man. It's not uncommon even in the original versions of such stories for people who've been eaten to be saved by killing the beast.
