    >Part 5: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/5851469/

Your short trip on the Valkyrie ends on the landing pad opposite the Thunderhawk. Your new 'initiate' is at your side, glancing around at her home for the last time. A Commissar walks over, beginning to berate her for slacking in duty and being guilty of cowardice. He raises his bolt pistol to her face.

You grab his hand and wrench it in the opposite direction, almost ripping his arm out of the socket. His shooting arm now hangs limp at his side.

"Do not threaten an initiate of the Thundering Gales, Commissar. If there is any indication of cowardice or heresy, -we- shall judge her. She is yours to command no longer."

You both board the Thunderhawk silently, the Commissar staring upwards into the sky as you rise from the ground.

    "MEDIC."
You dock with The Maelstrom a short time later. You are now a Captain of the Thundering Gales. You may kit yourself out accordingly.

    Only bump for this evening.

Does /tg/ not want Astartes Quest tonight? If not, that's cool. I can run the KS thread in /a/.

We've been limiting it to 3 weapons, maximum.
Two-Handed weapons (Such as a Combi-Weapon) count as 1 selection.

I think we should swap over to a Power Fist for melee, in honor of our fallen Chapter Master. Alternatively, Thunder Hammer! An armor upgrade to artificer would be nice as well. Keep the bolt pistol, it'd be embarrassing to get fucked over by a plasma pistol that Gets Hot.

And what's the next goal currently? Maybe we should look into Librarian Dewy? What about bringing our new charge to see her future scout sergeant or one of the Apothecaries?

    >You have maximized your statline.
    >Only through feats of incredible heroics will you be able to improve from this point forwards (As per a Dark Heresy Fate Point gain)

    >Bring our new initiate to the Apothecaries for inspection.

You had left the girl in your quarters as you went to re-kit yourself following your promotion. You return to retrieve her, now in your newly fitted Artificer Armour and weapon load out. She doesn't recognize you until you speak.

"We must have you inspected by the Apothecaries to ensure you'll be able to at least survive the basics."

"I'm harder than I look." She replies, kicking her bionics together. She's still wearing her carapace armour and shotgun strapped to her back.

You lead her down into the Medicae, bringing her to the quarters of Apothecary Gregori.

"Ah... Back again, so soon, Mansoon? I thought we just finished with you?" He says in his cynical tone, the vox doing nothing to hide it.

"I've brought us a new Initiate. Do your duty and check her for any signs that she would be inadequate amongst our brethren."

    >Continuing.
    >> SP Y34 09/17/09(Thu)01:03 No.5891968
I advise we attend debriefing. I am sure that is the first thing they would want us to do before we go off and attend to personal affairs, such as our new little initiate. She might have some useful information to provide.

    >>5891968
    >That will happen shortly.

"She? Brother, you jest. You think this girl can survive our ways? Let alone the improbability that our Geneseed will not be compatible with her."

"Run. The. Inspection. Brother. She proved herself resourceful and has had no indication that she would not be a valuable asset."

"Very well, -Captain-" You make a note of his snide tone as he readies a series of scanners. You motion towards them, where she walks to. Stepping into what could be called a giant human xerox machine, Apothecary Gregori runs a series of tests, having her turn in place as he looks for anything out of place, the scanners giving any indications of muscular or skeletal defect. She passes without incident, aside from a few remarks about her legs and lack thereof.

With the certification of her health in good standing, you lead her towards the barracks of your Iniates, the Whisperwinds. Your Scout Marines are accomplished infiltration experts and saboteurs. They're also damn fast. After a bit of trifling with Sergeant Bikon, she is kitted out and assigned a bunk.

"You're now a Whisperwind Initiate, Guardsman. Honor and Duty, Emi."

    >DEBRIEF INCOMING.
    >> Negi !B2bSxiuNtM 09/17/09(Thu)01:23 No.5892183
After sorting out your new ward, you must report to Captain - No, Chapter Master Saevio to detail the events that transpired.

You head up to the Bridge. Saevio holds the rail, looking out into the vastness of space with a long, sorrowful gaze.

He turns to you as you approach.

"Ah. -Captain- Mansoon. Good to see you. We have much to discuss."

    "Indeed, Master Saevio."

You explain the entire course of your drop into Callouth, starting from your ejection from the drop pod, going all the way through until your return accompanying Bladewind Company.

You had some trouble explaining how brave Iratus fell in combat. But nonetheless, you told his tale with pride, having watched him trample two Meganobz and shred two more with his assault cannon before he was knocked down and torn open. You flex your gauntlet, the only part of your former suit of Power Armour you kept, a token of your fallen Chapter Master.

"These are dark times for us, Mansoon."

"You'll lead us with pride, as you've led our Brothers before, Master Saevio."

"I thank you for your confidence."

"What is our next course of action?"

"We're needed to support an outbreak of heresy. On Cadia. The Dark Angels put down a great deal of traitors already, however Lord Castellan Creed has requested a watch guard be placed for interception. Judging from the reports, it was a massacre in a city. Kasr Lain, I believe it was called."

"Shall I leave you then, Master Saevio?"

"Yes. I must think on our strategy for the coming days. Forgemaster Havelock mentioned something about wanting to see you."

"Understood. Honor and Duty, Master Saevio."

Well, obviously, go see the Forgemaster. There is little we can do until we get to Cadia, seeing as that is our next assignment. Let us see what the crafter wants.

I see where this is going and I approve most heartily.

Before going to visit the Forgemaster, we ought to check up on Librarian Dewy and his progress with Rin. We should also find some point to familiarize ourselves with the marines that will be under our command now that we've been promoted all the way up to captain.

    Stroll down to Havelock.
    Attempt to "surprise" him.
Failing that, greet him with a hearty WASSUP.

    >See the Forgemaster

You leave the bridge and head to the Mechanicus level of the ship as it enters the Immateria. It's an odd sight you find. Forgemaster Havelock is sitting in a chair, sans his helmet, with a bottle of gutrot.

"Ah... Mansoon... Good of you to join me." He says, downing a glass. He seems utterly distraught.

"Forgemaster, what leaves you in such a state?"

    "I have failed."

    "Failed? But how?"

"I did not armour our Chapter Master adequately. I faltered in my blessings of the Machine God. I did all I was able, and still it was not enough to protect Master Iratus."

    "Forgemaster, know this."

He looks up from another glass.

"Know that his armour was indeed as strong as his will. He struck down many an Ork with the body you granted him. Even the tech-heresy of the Ork Mek with their wretched Warp Guns were no match for his Dreadnought. But he fell fighting. He trampled and smashed Orks until he fell."

    "But-"

"They were no normal Orks. They were Ork Nobs, clad in massive cybernetic bodies, with weapons similar to our Power Fists. It took an amazing amount of strength to break Iratus' shell, Forgemaster. And he lived on to see the end of the battle."

The Forgemaster's glass shatters in his hand at the mention of the Shokk Attack Gun and Power Klaws. His Servo Harness flares to life as it reconfigures into the Conversion Beamer, charging and ready to fire in a rage. He calms himself, though, and retrieves his helmet.

"Thank you, Brother. It is good to know the truth... I have something for you. From the Master."

He takes a box from his workbench, activating the rune to open it. He offers it to you.

Inside is a single Purity Seal, marked with a litany, a quote, and signed..
    >> Negi !B2bSxiuNtM 09/17/09(Thu)01:45 No.5892441
"... Chapter Master Iratus' Purity Seal?!"

"Indeed. He had me retrieve it for you from his former suit of Power Armour. Wear it with pride."

You place the seal of you former Chapter Master directly in between your twin hearts. Iratus' fury shall live on.

    >Gained: Furious Charge

    >Continuing with Check on Dewey. Squad assignments will happen at a later time, closer to Cadia.

You return to the upper decks, moving towards the Librarium to check with Galemaster Dewey on the psyker girl you found. You enter his room, but he isn't there. She's asleep in a chair, drooling a little bit. You hear the door shut behind you as the timer ends. She awakens with a start.

"Huh.. Whuh?" *slurp* "Oh, hello." You don't think she recognizes you.

    "Where is Galemaster Dewey?"

    "Gone."

    "...Gone where."

"I'unno. He started asking me questions. Then I fell asleep. He's boring."

You shake your head as you turn to leave.

    "So, just who are you?"

"I told you once before. I am Captain Mansoon of the Thundering Gales. You're on The Maelstrom, one of our Chapter's Battle Barges."

    "Oh."

You open the door to leave as Galemaster Dewey stands before you.

    "Did she give you anything?"

    "No."

    Dewey sighs.

"She's like a spherical two-way mirror. Some things get in, others, bounce and come out a random direction. I do not like prying into the minds of other psykers. Such a dreadful place if they're not level headed."

    "I'm sure you'll manage, Galemaster."

"I am aware of your newest promotion to Captain, Brother. Good. Though it is a horrible blow to lose Master Iratus."

"He fought and died like a true Thundering Gale. Relentless and unyielding until his last, just as the furious storm of rage that he embodied."

    "Well spoken, Brother."

    >OP needs to sleep for now. More will be done tomorrow. OP apologizes for the insane amount of story given in the part.
