You bring about a good point. Our beloved Imperium is rife with hypocrisy and greed, ignorance and stupidity.
Why do you think I was stationed in this sector, away from my battle brothers with only a small strike cruiser to defend these worlds? You know what they say. An open mind is like a fortress, with its gates unbarred and unguarded.
Oh, Tomas, these days are the only days we will ever see. The glorious Imperium for which we fight is actually nothing of the sort, but it is the only place, the only thing in the entire Galaxy that allows our race to continue living, even if is a slow decay into nothingness.
Most are blissfully unaware of these things though, having known nothing else. Happiness through ignorance. It is better than nothing.
But such is not our fate. No, we must realize and accept the horrible reality for what it is, and continue to fight in its name regardless, not because we want to, but because we have to. If we don't, our race has no hope at all.
