    Corporal Hernis Gauv 112th Cadian:
I want to start this journal with: Whoever recover this journal or my remains, please send my personal effects and the lock box entitled "Charline" To Charline Richterson on Denrun Sextus Tell her I love her very much and that my sacrifice was not in vein. Just do not give her this journal there are details in here, details I wish to keep from her... to protect her from the gruesome truth and possibly the inquisition.

I really don't know what day it is, I just guessed, its been weeks since 3rd company was destroyed and the survivors were picked up by the Tau... Juvienapped more like it. Those "things" we fought I don't know what they were they scared the crap out of me, and I've seen some scary shit in my service. I hate to say it but if the Tau didn't show up and finish them off we'd be done for. Damn Xenos saved our lives, only to "relocate" us to these "secure" shelters for Gai-la something-or-other. Imprison is more like it.
    >> God-Emperor of Mankind 07/23/09(Thu)04:28 No.5234758
Were stuck in these individual cells, completely cut off from each other. Every 6 hours they come by and drop off "food". Shits worse than the ration bars we are issued... if thats possible. This cell is weird too, its... round, thats all I can say. there are corners but the room is round. The Tau were kind enough to let us keep personal affects and let me write down events in my journal.

Each day is the same. In the morning we ( I assume since it doesn't exactly come up in conversation) are given our food, then after an hour we are taken from our cells to a gym of some sort where we get to exorcise for a short while and we get to chat with other survivors. After an hour of that we are fed again.. These Tau they are strange, everything they do is like clockwork. I've observed them from a safe distance but I can tell you with bluie will do what when. Its like they are... those things, that moved so silently and in unison...makes me shudder thinking about it.
    >> God-Emperor of Mankind 07/23/09(Thu)04:36 No.5234778
The strangest thing is when we actually talk to the Tau they have these weird expressions on their faces... its almost like a smile. They "smile when commanding you do so something. " Go back to your room Gai-la" "You will eat now Gai-la" I think order to them is like sanctity to us. I once asked for more food and they looked at me like I just Blasphemed the Emperor to an Inquisitor. " But... you already have food?" Like he couldn't comprehend me asking for something that wasn't given. The creepy part was he ( could have been female I dont know) kept smiling. But I'm ranting.

In the afternoon we are sent back to our cells to watch these strange propaganda holomovies. The tau stand for this....Greater good thing, they talk about how they are a peaceful and benevolent Empire... Load of Bull, we weren't even fighting them and they treat us like POWs.. No! More like dogs! Still they keep asking us to forsake our emperor and join this Gai-vwessa, something in xenobabble that I don't care about.

I guess I should talk about what happened since you're still reading.

I think it was the 15th of month 12.. whatever it's called on Yurtis. It was a routine find the orkz kkill the orkz kinda task. Juviesplay for the 112th. Hell I must have killed over 100 Orkz myself.. ok fine more like 20, but they were big! Things were going great until 3rd Platoon wouldn't respond. They were guarding the entrance to a mine we suspected the Orkz to be using to transport troops. We didn't find traces of them ANYWHERE, so we went in to find out what was going on, the whole damn company! Lieutenant Varil didn't like that too much. I don't know what it was, but just going in that cave weirded me out, and I fought the ruinous powers before. We got in deeper and we finally found 3rd platoon.. what was left of them. Their bodies where everywhere... some didn't even have skin! We should have stopped there, we should have turned back when we saw that green light. Oh Emperor we should have ran.... They came at us, slowly and so silently. No matter how much we fired back at them they wouldn't die... and those that did GOT BACK UP AGAIN! I don't know what they were... I don't WANT to know.

We fought for as long as we could... but we got slaughtered. We fell back to the Command HQ. Split up they seemed to go for the slower ones. I though we lost them. Oh by the throne I was wrong.
    >> God-Emperor of Mankind 07/23/09(Thu)04:56 No.5234874
I think there was about 10 or 15 of us from 3rd company left... They all died to those monsters. I was cowering alone in a room; Zack shot himself. That's when I heard a firefight. The weapns sounded different than the crack of las fire and the cloth tearing of those...things! Thats when the tau entered the room. I was huddled in the fetal position when it spoke to me " Gai-la what happen here?" I didn't reply It muttered something in xenobabble and they took me with them.

Thats how I got here... scared out of my wits and fleeing in disgrace, but at least others made it as well.

Thats enough for today I hear my jailor getting closer and these bluies are really picky about their scheduled light out.

The day starts the same as any other.. wake up at the designated time, eat designated food, shit in designated toilet. Wait to hit the gym. I guess today wasn't as bad I was thinking. Least a few humans were chatty, and the Tau let us hold our private conversation, much to their discomfort. You know, you can learn alot about another race's culture from their prisons.. Oh I'm sorry "relocation shelters". From what I can tell, and the other from my company have noticed, the Tau are scared of us. Other than the fact we must look like giants to them its how we act. I'm guessing they think we are unpredictable. Considering when they are told to do something they just do it. Hell even if a commissar told me to do something I'd still think before I lept. I wish you could have seen the look on their faces when Connor told them he wouldn't return to his cell.. heh priceless... Haven't seen him since; probably dead. I guess they can't handle disobedience.

The propaganda movies were dreadfully bland, remember those education films on how to spot a heretic, yeah worse than those. Really its laughable to for them to expect us to turn on the Imperium from watching this shit.

Though call me crazy but I am beginning to think they are monitoring us in our cells. I started scratching the days into the wall with my dull utili-knife and I was sent an organizer with my next meal... Maybe the other got them as well to help chronologue event like I am doing now. I don't know Blueies makin me nutz.

Well We got relocated today. Had a confrontation with the captors. Korus form I think 5th platoon got into an argument with one of the tau; don't know what over . A really heated argument, he managed to get the blue bastard to start yelling back! Korus threw a punch and knowed that small blue goat-thing flat. I mean he was OUT. Anyway some guards saw this and opened fire on him. I was laughing until he became a blue ball of vapor. We all pretty much got silent after that.

I don't know what they had planned for us, but those smiles weren't on their faces anymore. Least I got to see outside for the first time in a while. Kinda odd all the buildings were rounded like the one we were in. Architectural choices I guess.

Thing are only going to get weirder from here I guess.

    Corporal Henris Gauv 112th Cadian:
I'm not sure but I think we are being expirimented on. My first hint was when they put us in a room stripped us naked ( not all that bad seeing as how quite a few of the women survived as well) and scanned us with some strange technosorcery, then assigned us to cells again, pretty much as accommodating as the last. The scheduel stayed the same roughly, but when we left the cells we were monitored CONSTANTLY with a tau supervisor... Maybe they didn't want us getting into anymore fights. You caough they write it down, you take a bite of their stale food, they write it down. Man I was afraid to use the latrine when not in my cell.

Every so often they take us one by one to this room where we'd put on these devices and excorsise.. maybe they wanted to know how our bodies worked, maybe they just liked to humiliate us, I don't know I'm not a xeno expert. They let you know the testing was over with their poor excuse for gothic " That is all gai-la" they you were escorted to your room. Least they were kind enough to give you a schedule the day before on events to come.

Tomorrow holds cognitive testing? Great just great.

Well The testing today was a spectacular failure, I can tell they seemed disappointed by the looks on their faces, I'm sure scowling is universal. In My defense Mathematics isn't really that touched upon in Cadia, unless its how many men in a regiment, how many in a company; if billy finds 11 heretics and kills 5 how many more must billy kill? Frakkin bullshit. I always sucked at math. Though I feel I did well on on the science subject, I just answered The Omnissiah for all of the question, worked with the cogboys it'll work with me.

I like to find little things to make me stay sane around here, as I'm sure the rest of us do. I like to wander around during out " free" time and go to rooms that aren't labeled off limits, just to see that confused look on their face when I do something random. ( we are allowed to roam freely with our supervisor present... in the designated free roam zone) I find it funny they keep telling us we are not prisoners and they want to help us for the greater good and that bullshit, but we are constantly told what to do and where to go and when to do it OR ELSE. The best way I can describe it is like saying " Sure you can disobey the commissar all you want, you just will get shot"

Well time to see what the next barrage of testing is....Breeding? Oh... FRAK....yes!

I AM PISSED! It was flagrant false advertising! Not that I want to be with any woman other than my dear Charline, but its been almost 10 years, and have you SEEN the women I serve with?
No to be blunt, it wasn't testing... much more disturbing it was explanation. Apparently the Tau aren't allowed to fornicate when they please like we can in the good 'ole imperium. It turns out they are allowed 1 week every 6 months to do as they please to populate "for the greater good" Emperor be damned! They have to structure EVERYTHING. not only that they are extending this to us. Not that we even have enough time outside our cages to even do it, but they urged harsh penalties for breeding out of turn and they knew we humans were rather depraved in this sort of thing... I'm really starting to think they all shit at the same time as well... OR ELSE

What kind of benevolent empire is this that doesn't even allow privacy for couples. From what I asked my supervisor ( and you can bet he/she was uncomfortable answering) That not only are you not allowed privacy, you don't even have a right to it, their leaders can barge in at any time and tell you to stop.. or start if you aren't breeding at the appointed time. Kinda takes the fun out of it when its forced on you.

Strange someones coming. I'll continue after this

Maybe I was a little hasty on my words. Maybe it CAN be a little fun when forced on you. Apparently even WE are supposed to engage in breeding, that or they were curious as to how humans did it, seeing as how we were in the testing room... Kinda weird but at least they let us.If you are reading this Charline I am very sorry.

Her name was Kaila, very well built Cadian woman, I'll spare you the details for my own amusement, but to let you know she was a very battle worn woman. Both her legs were blown off at the knees and her whole left arm too, in place she had very well crafted augmetic limbs, though it earned her the nick-name cog girl. I think she got off the hook from beating a man to a pulp because the tribunal felt they'd do the same if they were called that... Its a regimental legend anyway who knows if its true.

But back to the point. No I wont talk about the sex. What I will talk about is that after we were done we were forced to share the cell together. Strange that we were forced, but the Tau said it was part of the post copulation rituals... Yeah they enforce cuddeling after sex.

    No schedule for tomorrow.

That would be the entire point of the IG, yes. At the end of the day, though he's been ferried through Space Hell on a ship that's four
thousand years old to his destination, though he deployed from high orbit with a grav chute, though he is one of ten million men raised
from his homeworld to fight a war he barely understands, though he has been given a weapon that fires miniature suns and might annihilate
him when he fires it because no-one knows how it works anymore, though his company is supported by tractor-tanks that run on anything you
can burn, though he wages war against a devouring hivemind or space demons...

...a Guardsman is a man, just like you, though he grew up in another culture. He has no millenia-old genetic engineering, no prophetic
leader, no miracles of faith. He has his lasgun, his orders, and his fellow soldiers.

I let Kaila sleep on the bed, so I woke with a VERY stiff neck. Sorry if some of the writing is illegible I guess they repeated the process with the remaining people, which is weird because if I recall out of the 15 or so I'm pretty sure 7 were women... wait Korus got vaped. Funny how that works out. I haven't asked Kaila about it yet, I don't plan on it either. Though I must admit having a human around me able to talk freely without supervision was just.... comforting. I hoped she felt the same.

We were given our free time to exorcise and whatnot like always. A few of the more "intimate" couple hung off each other which made the Tau uncomfortable, which made me more comfortable. Though today was different. Instead of our regular "free" roam time they gathered us together and made us watch a propaganda film in an auditorium. I have been neglecting to mention this, but the resolution of these movies, though bland, is just astounding. I bet the engineseers would have blew a circuit if they saw the clarity. Anyway the film was the same ole same ole, until it got to the Imperium.

A lot of us were disturbed at what we saw. It was all lies. They were talking about-
OH MAN I forgot about Connor! Thats beside the point
... They were talking about what the Imperium did to start the war against the Tau and how innocent civilians of the Tau culture were brutally murdered or no reason.... Never mind the fact THEY started the war and wiped a planet clean of life so they could colonize it... Double standards I guess. Or did we start the war? I should have payed attention in history back on Cadia.... Still they seemed rather aggressive in their tactics to get us to join their auxiliaries. None of us budged. The Tau seemed rather disturbed at the fact we were not doing as they said.

I know I touched on this before, but its just so strange how they react to orders. The Tau do not question, they have a plan and a place, you do what you are told where you are told, so to them us not joining their auxiliaries after them asking was beyond belief. They babbled amongst themselves in obviously scared and confused tones then they sent us to our cells again.

Dont get why they just don't kill us like they did Korus and Connor... maybe Connor is still alive.

Tommrow holds.... art? Seriously Tau culture, you want to know about art?

I must say I was rather intrigued how Tau art seemed not so dissimilar to our own. I guess a landscape is a landscape, and still life is still life. Rather than a boring and seemingly pointless day me and Kaila got to talking. About home about the Imperium. Mostly what was on all our minds, if we'd ever get out of this Tau hell hole. The food was getting to us. I can stress it enough the ration bar at least TRIED to have flavor, but all the tau eat this stuff. I know when you think I say all I mean a majority.

This stuff is given by mandate to the populace from their government for their daily regulated consumption standards. Its just so strange how uniform this culture is. Its just... unerving. I remember learning something that when a tryannid hive gets so large a communal intellect forms known as the hivemind. What if the Tau are like that. I mean they are cold blooded like the nids, thats why they are blue? No because when I shake my supervisors hand ( a gesture which confuses him/her all the time) its warm.

They changed up our daily schedule abit. Now each day we are forced to watch more propaganda movies before "dinner"

I know theres been a rather large lapse in my entries, but its been the same day after day. Eat, workout, test, freetime, dinner, movie, lights out.
But today they had something "special" planned for us. To my immense suprise the night before we were given the scheduel, "Combat Exorcise" Though we still had out gear and armor... somewhere.. they made us use theirs they said something about " These weapons are more reliable and safe" in that funny Tau accent that sounded like they had a numb upper lip.

Our Exorsise as I suspected was more to gauge our combat effectivenes against their own soldiers. Though the fire was safe and harmless ( as Thera found out by trying to shoot her foot) we didn't want to let Cadia or the Imperium down. The weapons where different alright... I must say I liked them, more reliable. The exorcise was us 14 against a like size compliment of their "firewarriors" must be like riflemen, in a mach urban enviroment. Needless to say centuries of breeding for urban combat we preformed flawlessly, with only one "casualty" and that was Thera who found out that shot earlier counted... I actually had fun today. I hope we get to do it again.

No such luck. We started out again with physical testing. I was talking to my supervisor, who seemed to warm up to me ( I think we were effecting them as our antics stopped making them so scared) I asked hi-It if we were ever going to get back to the imperium It replied " when they send word for us to return you" and like a sniveling psyker it guessed my thoughts and pretorted ( is that a gothic word?) " The Tau Empire would NEVER leave its people behind". You know I bet its a female. The voice is slightly higher pitched.

This is when I made my first mistake. I got mad and yelled at her(?) " Do you really think you empire cares about you?" With her stoisism she simple replied " For the greater good it is best we are in one piece and not divided."

I must be losing my mind... its starting to make sense. I just need to rest... I wish I knew where my uplifting primer was.

Its been a tough few weeks... Very tough. But I am gaining my resolve back. So have the others. I kept myself busy trying to freak the Tau out again. This is were I made my second mistake. Indeed my old supervisor is female... that or tau males just aint packing. I stumbled into what must have been a locker room which is VERY off limits especially to humans ( how was I supposed to know I can't read gibberish!) My new supervisor was busy conducting business while I wandered off. Strange thing about Tau anatomy, the only way I could tell she was female was by the lack of things, other than that they are totally indistinguishable.

My punishment was "light" for their standards and I was pulblicly flogged for being in an unauthorized area with intention for unauthorized breeding.... Like I'd even WANT to touch her. Though I'd been flogged before for drunkeness on duty and let me tell you. The Tau have NO swing in their arm. If I get back I need to let everyone know, Tau can't fight worth a shit in hand to hand.

After that though, the crowd dispersed and that was that no worse treatment, ironically it was time to watch another movie. So you can say I still got punished.

    Corporal Henris Gauv 112th Cadian:
The day went as usual except we got a word from the imperium... They actually sent word for us. To my amazement. Our overseers addressed us ien masse and asked us one more time if we'd like to join the auxiliaries.
"frak no, I've had enough of you bluies. It's time to go home" Wen said. Though we all felt it, unlike her we kinda had the brains to not say a word about it. but they didn't seem to mind. Which scared me.

In an odd attempt to sway us they took us outside for the first time ( second for me) I stayed close to Kaila. They were showing us the landscape, the buildings the culture and other shit like that. The whole thing seemed fraked. I mean I grew up on Cadia Hive spires, fortesses and trenches where what I associated with home, so did the others. This didn't stop our Overseer from babbeling on about the beauty of the Tau worlds and how these cities are a marvel onto themselves... We were at the top of the building and could see the ground. Maybe the Tau build out not up... reasonable I guess but with Cadia we don't have much of a choice... though Derun Sextus had similar cities.

The more I think about it its the Round shaped buildings that made me so uneasy.. made me think they were going to roll over and fall any second. But I didn't dwell on it much I wanted to go home.

FRAK FRAK FRAK! Shit really hit the Fan! theres about 6 of us left with Me, Kalia, Wen, Richred, I think his name was Doven, and Erst. The 89th Cadian showed up around this planet... along with the 532nd Death Korps 42rd Tallarn and the Novamarines! The tau started executing us during the night. We managed to escape with a few of their wapons... not the smartest idea with the Imperial Guard running about but damnit we needed to get the hell out of there!

Things are bad real bad. Charline I know events have happend but I still love you!

Damnit Why did we decide to wear their armor as well?

I can hear fighting outside... we found a nice bunker to hide in until they make progress this way. Doven didn't make it. Some strange dreadnought thing got him... So much blood.. I haven't been this scared since.... those things...I don't know why I am thinking about them now, but I am.

Were going to try to rendevouse with the nearest Imperial regiment... emperor be with us I hope its not the Kriegers... faithful they are but they'll wonder why were are here... and by wonder I mean shoot us until we are piles of ash. Wouldn't mind seeing fellow Cadians. Were going to head out in the morning before the artillery, good thing about the humans, were predictable. I hope we can get back... maybe they'll give us awards for spying on the enemy... or maybe they'll kill us for knowing too much. Either or its still better than staying with the Tau.

I really need to keep tally on my kills I think I'm up to 20 orkz, 3 Eldar, 50 Cultists, frakload of nids and going on 12 bluies. These weapons are rather astounding, plasma weapons that don't overheat and blow up on you.... I wonder if the Admech would use them...

Fightings groing more intense, the cites coming down over us, but we are close. I just KNOW we are close.

Wen took a good hit, shes missing a hand and a fore arm but she'll live. Erst doesn't say much, don't think he has said ANYTHING. Frakkin snipers. Kaila, well shes fine just living up to her unusual luck her arm, the real one, is busted pretty bad. I put a splint on it but its still a bit too much for her to fire a weapon.

Alright TOMORROW we make it to the Guard and we go home!

    Corporal Henris Gauv 112th Cadian:
Its over... its all over. We figured it'd be better to ditch the weapons and armor. Good thing too. We ran into the Kriegers first. They were supprised to say the least, with our BDUs and some equipment they thought we were separated 89th They didn't even bother talking to us, they just pointed us towards the 89th and said "Regroup or we will kill you" Couldn't get a word in edgewise... frakking clones.

We did however rendezvous with Colonel Sergis and Major Thomas of the 89th. Words surpass me how happy I was to see fellow Cadians. We explained to him the best we could what happened and to what befell our comrades. Maybe fate smiled on us we found out the 112th was nearly wiped out on Inobera by a massive Tyrannid swarm coupled with Orkz.

I know my last few thoughts seem jumbled but I am just so happy to be done with this.... I'm going home. We are going home. Early retirement for sharing ALL we know about the Tau.. First I am taking Kaila back to Cadia to give birth to our child. Then Charline. I am coming for you...

    I'm coming home.

Never clearly expressed. 'Vitae-womb' machines are involved in their rapid production of soldiers, and some suspect they make use of cloning, but there's nothing solid.

My theory is that by the start of the second term a fetus is transferred to one of these "vitae-womb" devices to be force-grown into a trainable soldier in a few short months.
