The moment you enter the main building, you immediately notice how huge it was inside. It was like an entire city of darkness, save for the various lights inside; you look around, but find yourself unable to locate the main building inside this place. You rub your chin in thought. It makes sense, a man that can exist only in the darkness living in a self-made darkness type city. You glance at Saiga, whom is crossing his arms in thought as well. He may not have been able to make it this far before, you think to yourself.

Your thoughts are interrupted as a child, sobbing, is running toward your direction. He is being chased by several guards and who are gaining on him with each passing second. When the kid runs by you, you, Kuhn, and Selene, dispatch the guards quickly and quietly. No longer hearing himself being chased, the child whips around to see his pursuers unconscious and lying on the ground.

    Kid: T-thank you.
    >> !ZaiyoM.Dpk 07/10/09(Fri)10:42 No.5123747
Selene gives no facial reaction, but Kuhn bends down and rubs the boy’s head.

    Kuhn: What’s your name, kid?

    Kid: It’s Fayt.

Kuhn: (smiling) Well, Fayt, can you tell us why you were being chased.

Fayt grows silent as he looks up and sees Selene. Kuhn notices this.

Kuhn: Hey… can you do something about your face or something? It’s scarin’ the kid.

Her eye twitches as you laugh at Kuhn’s words. Selene turns around, the action which calms the kid enough to continue speaking.

    Kuhn: Well?

Fayt: I-it was because I tried to enter the main building…

All at once, you all began to pay true attention to his words.

Kuhn: Can you show us where it is?

The child nods before walking away with his hands together. Kuhn stands and smiles at the little boy that was ahead of them.

You: You’re good with children. I wouldn’t expect that from a skirt chasing pervert.

Kuhn: Well, some of the skirts I chase have children.

You chuckle silently as the four of you follow the child down whence he came.

    -Inside the Main Building-

“I heard we had some intruders, what do you think we should do?”

“My, my… getting so frightened over a few ants?”

The large man dropped the alcohol which he held in his hand.

    “Why are you here?”

“Oh, I’m just here for inspection.”

“They sent a CHILD to inspect me?”

“Oh, don’t get so defensive, old man~!”
    >> !ZaiyoM.Dpk 07/10/09(Fri)10:43 No.5123753
While speaking, the older, large man began to fondle the breasts of one of the many women in the room. His comrade, whom was also a woman, seemed unfazed by his perversion. She seemed to have a permanent smile spread across her face.

“I would be careful if I were you. You never know who’s lurking behind the corner to take you down.”

As she left, her smile grew even more, transforming from pseudo-happiness to bloodthirsty. The man, left alone with his women and alcohol, stared at the traditional style Japanese sliding door as it closed. “Just what kind of women is she…?”

    -Inner City-

You continue to follow the child through various alleys and walkways, but, eventually, you begin to think you’re being led on. However, Kuhn seems to have faith in the child while Selene does not.

Selene: I’m tired of walking with this kid; I say we find our own way.

Kuhn: He’s the only one of us that knows where it is. If we wander around the city, we’re sure to be caught.

They both look at Saiga, who shrugs. Then they look at you to get rid of the tie.

You: I say we follow the kid.

Both Selene and Kuhn look at you out of surprise, as if they were expecting a completely different answer. Selene, after regaining her composure, shrugged while Kuhn nodded at the child to continue on his way.

You’re led through the city’s labyrinth by the child, seemingly making no progress. No one says a word to one another; eventually, the group arrives in an alleyway. “Hey!” They turn around to see the entrance covered by several guards – they attempt to run, but soon find that the exit is also covered. They’re caught between two buildings with a kid and nowhere to run, or was there?

Your thoughts are caught off when you hear a sound before you. Perched on the edge of the balcony is Selene, legs crossed and her bat resting on her shoulders.

Selene: We can’t have you dying here. You haven’t even taken me on a date yet.

    “Selene, throw me.”

Selene smirks as if she were waiting for this moment her entire life. Her hands grab onto your arms and she lifts you with relative ease. She starts spinning you as you begin to transform, only letting go when you had finished. You spin wildly as your claws slash about, ripping through their seemingly tissue paper armor with your reinforced natural weapons.

    Learned: Grizzly Vortex

You slammed into a wall as your opponents fell into the ground. You feel if you had not been transformed, serious damage would have been done; you decide then and there not to underestimate Selene since your life is now at stake. You slowly exit your transformation, rubbing your head of the dust that had fallen from the ceiling.

You grin at one another after seeing the damage you had inflicted.

You look around, but see nothing of interest.

While in mid-air, you, once again, enter your bear transformation. You fly toward the startled guards who are unused to having animals fly at them, taking two of them out simultaneously while Selene took out the other with a fist to their face. You exit the transformation as you vault into the air; you feel that you could only transform one more time.

The two of you continue to make your way across the roofs in silence.

Selene's strength exceeds our running strength so it'd be significantly faster.
    >> Anonymous 07/10/09(Fri)17:40 No.5126865
Not to argue about logic in an inappropriate setting, but just because a throw achieves a higher peak speed initially doesn't mean that it will cross the entire distance faster- there's no continued energy input as with running helping to maintain a high velocity. We'd be better off separating so that they have to aim for one of us individually and having that person try to dodge- if we think it necessary, we could use teleport or some other ability to get closer and be the one to draw fire.

...or instead of thinking about it, we could just get thrown because it's cool and we apparently have a fetish for being tossed about by violent and exceedingly strong women, so it therefore works. That's fine too.

The two of you, acting on a single wavelength separate from one another. The cannon, unsure of who to fire at, suddenly turn in your direction the moment you step on the roof of a building. The machine fires and flames spouted from the barrel of the cannon; for a moment, everything slowed down and became white. You sheathed your blade in the eerie silence and placed it at your hip. You then flipped it in a circle until the hilt of the katana faced the sky. In the eeriness, you could clearly see the large projectile being fired at you. Your eyes grew dark until it grew close – they opened suddenly, and your pupils reflected that of whiteness.

“Supernova Style: The power to cut steel – Lion’s Song.”

In real time, all of this happened in a single moment. You vanished from your position and the massive shell exploded around where you once stood. The soldiers, awestricken at what they just witnessed, stood motionless, unaware that you had already arrived to claim their lives. Before they knew it, they could no longer breathe and their cannon was dismantled.

Selene stopped at the building above you, seemingly out of breath as she looked down at your back. “For a moment,” she began to think. “I felt really uneasy.” You looked up at her, the whiteness vanishing as if it never existed. “Not bad, eh?” You smile at her before hopping on the roof and standing next to her.

You drop to the roof immediately, lying down against the building, you searched the area. With your hand outstretched, you grabbed Selene’s body and pulled her toward you. She gripped her wound in pain and you could hear her muffled groans, which bothered you.

    “Sir, I don’t have a clear shot anymore. “
“I see. Well, evacuate back to the main base and blow the charges.”

The soldiers stationed from far away took their equipment. Soon, the building was empty save for an unconscious man. His mouth was tapped and his weapon had been tossed aside and forgotten. The cigarette he was usually seen donning in his mouth was still burning silently on the ground next to him. He looked severely beaten up, bruises on his face and his nose bleeding.

You begin to wrap Selene’s wound with a piece of your shirt, trying to stop the bleeding by making it clot from the pressure. However, it seemed that no matter what you did, nothing seemed to remedy the situation.

You forget Selene is not used to life on the battlefield; any wound is going to hurt the first time around. You attempt to take your mind off the subject at hand and demand yourself to find her a hospital.

I didn't vote going to a hospital, but I see your point.

You search the bathroom for a first aid kit, which you find successfully – saving you much needed time. You open it and inspect its contents as you make your way over to the bleeding woman.

None. Get a knife. Alcohol on your hands, knife and wound. Pull the bullet out.

You place the kit next to the bed before going downstairs. With each step you take, you feel more and more comfortable with what you’re about to do; you take a small knife out of the drawer and twirl it for a moment before rushing back upstairs. You grab the black bottle out of the kit, proceeding to open it and pour its contents on your hands and the knife. You strip Selene of her upper layer of clothing to open access to the wound, pouring alcohol on it as well.

You open the wound a little more and ease the knife into it until you feel the bullet; with precision, you slowly remove the bullet and drop it to the floor, sewing her up like clockwork. You hadn’t realized it, but you had been sweating during your operation. After you finish, you place gauze against her wound, proceeding to wrap much of the tape around it until you feel that it should hold the bandage in place.

You sigh to yourself. This incident makes you realize that you’re going to need a medic to add to your ragtag group sooner or later – eventually, you’re going to lose your access to hospitals and the like. You drop to the ground in a stressed heap, you wonder if you had just signed her death warrant. When you look behind you, you see she’s still breathing, but only time will tell, I suppose.

We can't leave her alone and unconscious, and going out will be much too likely to draw attention.

That said, neither do we have all day here. If it takes hours and there's no indication that anyone knows where we are, it's time to leave a note and go it alone.

You lean against the bed with your legs outstretched. Your eyelids become heavy but you’re only able to fight it off for a few moments before succumbing to its tantric nature. It’s not long after, or so you think, until you hear a voice.

    “What is it?”

You respond with your eyes closed, as if you were still asleep.

    “Where are you?”
    “Right here next to you.”

You hear silence and you stand up to look over her person in case something had happened. She simply looks at you in silence, and you do the same. You remember that she’s exposed and may be cold; you grab the blankets edge that had been pushed to the end of the bed and pull it up over her, making sure to do it carefully to not agitate the wound. As you near her face, she touches yours with her hand.

“I was wondering how you were feeling,” you say as you touch her hand. She gives a small grin, though she doesn’t say anything – though you don’t need her to as you can already guess. By looking at her, you can tell something's a little different in her eyes.

You smile at her and lean in to kiss her on the cheek and let her rest. However, her action surprises you. With her hand on your cheek, she guides your face – and your lips – to hers. The two of you share a deep kiss that seems like it lasts forever; your bond becomes interrupted as an explosion echoes in the background. You stare at her momentarily when you pull away; her eyes are closed and her lips are still puckered as if she were expecting it to last longer.

You smile, though she does not see. “Looks like it’s time to go.” She opens her eyes as if she had just woken out of a trance. She gives a sigh before sitting up on the bed and grabbing her jacket off of the table near you. You don’t notice her putting it on until you arrived back in the room with your katana. You could ask her to stay, but you know she wouldn’t and would do what she wanted regardless; her level endurance seems maddening to you.

The both of you look out the window toward the burning building – your current destination – watching the flames flicker in the artificial darkness before taking off and onward.

And so ends the 7th part. I will be returning the same time as I always do tomorrow (10 AM EST). As this thread fades away into the night, I will answer any questions.
