!!9uyN+BGUFFK 06/07/09(Sun)13:41 No.4799014>>4798694 When I started GMing, I did so because i was the only one of my friends who could read english (im from southamerica). Is not as hard as you may think. Just remember:
Let them come up with solutions other than what you have planned, for the love of god, if they cant find the key to steel door #42 it is okay for them to think of diggin under it or making a hole in the wall. You should just make sure you tell them it just takes a long time and is not going to let them surprise whatever´s on the other side. If you add a few, small roaming monsters just coming across them as they work, it will add realism.
Have an objective, not a plan. The objective is "how do you get to the orb on top of the tower". A plan would be "when they go through this door this happens, and if they say this it will open". Plans are shit. They will just use a levitation and float up to the tower´s peak, or turn into mist and flow under the doors, etc.
NEVER HAVE A PLAN
Plans do NOT survive contact with players, and if you want to write a book, go do that, instead. You must have objectives and let THEM come up with means to achieve them. |
