I'm putting together a home brew game, and I was thinking of a have a tiered skill system.You'd have a handful of major skills... say... Speech, Medical, Engineering, Technical... and then you'd have roughly three minor skills under each major, so Speech might break down into Diplomacy, Bluff, and Intimidate, and Technical might break down into Electronics, Programming, and... something else...For every one point you drop in a major skill, you'd get two (maybe more, maybe less) to boost a minor in that category, allowing for both general and specific competency.Are there any skill systems similar to this, and have they worked well at all?

The version of Fuzion that was used for Cyberpunk 2020. Simple, streamlined, realistic, and brutal. More experience should not = being able to get shot more times. While I prefer the 2013 FNFF rules over 2020, 2020 was the better overall system.
