At least we know how Red got his crazy-ass laugh jaws. It seems likely that the regeneration coffins or whatever they are cause insanity, but maybe they've fixed that since then. Stitches is marked as extremely dangerous and is clearly unwillingly homicidal, Red PUMMELS RUBY INTO THE GROUND and shoves her into a DO NOT OPEN box after having his jaw fixed up, the Hound is possibly more nutso than Stitches (guess we'll never know) and Ace appears to be some sort of all-purpose android, successful experiment or whatever the fuck.

It's worth pointing out that at this point Ace has done nothing 'wrong'. He could easily have been operating on prior orders, possibly including "Ruby is dangerous, protect Red from Ruby". The second he discovers Red's corpse, he ignores everything else and goes straight for it. Presumably he's trying to help him but doesn't understand that stakes jammed through brain = not getting back up. Then, later on (i.e. once the bomb incinerates Red's corpse), he appears and tries to grab Ruby. Note that we don't know that he was trying to kill her; he could simply be on orders to find and secure Ruby inside her cubicle to make sure that she doesn't hurt anyone else.

Why is Red afraid of Ace? We don't know. He might not be; chances are he's afraid of the guy giving ORDERS to Ace.

According to the stated rules for the board, since it's not relevant to a non-electronic game it technically shouldn't be here.

That doesn't change the fact that (especially over the past year) we've seen a growing amount of flexibility here regarding what is and isn't relevant, and digital equivalents of 'analog' games or electronic games from franchises that have produced predominantly 'analog' entertainment were the first additions to the board's scope of relevancy. Now we have Dungeon Crawl (which, as a roguelike, is essentially a simulation of a tabletop game), Dwarf Fortress (an extremely complex simulation with no 'analog' equivalent other than simply playing pretend with an imaginary village), Dawn of War (which is a real-time strategy game and thus not an approximation of any tabletop game due to it being real-time), and now this. If any of those were a problem to the mods, we would have heard about it by now.

Simply put, the face of the board is changing. Some people don't like it. Most of those people also think that this is /40k/ or /GW/, but that's really beside the point. If we were really strict about topic, about half the threads that start here on a given day would result in bans.

From what we've seen, it seems likely that Ace is a construct. He seems to be impervious to pain and they refer to changing his name in the same offhand manner as they refer to changing a font. he is clearly intelligent or trained up to a point as he can write and uses words such as 'deceased' rather than 'dead', although he has yet to speak. He also seems to act as general 'muscle' for the facility; in the security feed we see him repairing the pipe while Red sits around reading, and then we see him apprehending and leading Ruby away a few seconds later. Successful experiment pressed into service as all-purpose maintenance and security, perhaps.

Also: Dummy is F? Hand was found in the same room, essentially, and we know that the Dummy contains something 'alive'. Possibly a new version of the regeneration cubicles for severe cases; regenerating from a pile of guts in a cubicle would probably not end well, seeing as Stitches had most of his body left and had to be nailed to the damn wall.

I'd suggest using thin cardboard and the smallest brads you can find to make the dolls and moving props. (With brads, the parts can rotate. You might remember doing something like this in oh, first grade or kindergarten.) You can use generic dolls and just let people draw their characters on them in marker, and then mark on them or add/remove parts to reflect changes to the character.

It is worth noting that the game can not have begun before Nov 23, as Subject 6 was kept in the brig until that date, and Tom was there when Ruby got out of her cell.

TIMELINE:

October 3 : Traditional treatments aren't working and one of the patients has been injured. Red tries to convince F to implement his own "experimental" treatment.
October 7 : Experimental treatments, assumedly developed by Red, begin. Of importance is that Red is already hallucinating -- BEFORE treatments begin.

October 27 : Ruby attacks Red, slicing open the right half of his mouth with a longshoreman's hook. Red realizes what this means, assumedly that the treatment that HE recommended is having irreversibly terrible side effects. Perhaps it was this guilt which motivated him to duty, and he makes a plan.
October 29 : Red "kills" Ruby. She wasn't dead when Ace found her body stashed in the packing crate. However, whether she actually died after Ace discovered her, or whether her pronouncement of death was a means to something else* is unknown. (*Lulling Red into a false sense of security? Perhaps they knew what he did and wanted him to think he succeeded?)

TIMELINE CONTINUED:

November 1 : An unknown "incident". Red is relocated to the now-vacant Cell #6 to replace Subject 6, who was (at some point?) moved to the brig. It is unknown what the incident is, however apparently it was serious enough for Red to shift from being a staff member to being a patient.
November 8 : Ruby, who appears to be ALIVE only 10 days after being declared dead, attacks Tom with a scalpel. Their actions prior to the attack (making out) suggest they were already familiar with each other, perhaps even romantically entangled. (This date also lends credibility to the theory that Ruby's declaration of death was staged to fool Red, and once he became a patient, Ruby was once again publicly declared "alive", which is why Tom isn't surprised when she enters.)
November 23 : Subject 6 becomes too hostile and dangerous to be kept in the brig, and is quarantined in Lab B. Who or what Subject 6 is, and exactly how dangerous they are, is still unknown.

You should probably be more worried about the missing dummy thing.

Subject 6 is contained, in solitary confinement, in Lab B because he's phenomenally dangerous. Dummy is neither in Lab B or dangerous. If they could make him safe to be around by wrapping him up in a dummy skin they wouldn't have had to confine him in the first place.

You know, with all the horrible, fucked-up zombies roaming around, the gigantic eight-foot-tall behemoth-bird with a harpoon, the psychotic visions, and the ominous shadows, the idea that there's something that, EVEN RELATIVE TO THESE THINGS, can be considered "PHENOMENALLY DANGEROUS" makes me shit a fucking HOUSE.

Also: My vote goes for Ace removing the dummy to protect it from Ruby, who is known to be insane and has attempted murder twice. It doesn't necessarily follow that the dummy has gone all BEWARE I LIVE on us.

Ruby is crazy and should give her self up to the local authorities.

Red's notes officially identify two rooms. The "newly-excavated" Brig, which I assume is where we first met Tom.
The other room is the "Patient Break Room".
Anyone else willing to bet this is the break room?

Not really an option.

What she will do is, after seeing that the only person whom she trusts and can protect her is now afraid and angry with her, and he's not wrong to do so, is to start crying and run as far away from Tom as possible.

She might try to find stitches, to find out more, and to commiserate over their mutual "o noes im a monster" dilemma; alternately, she may try to find Ace, asking him to lock her away again.

Either way, we lose control of Ruby, and play as just Tom for a while.

One thing I've been wondering...

Why don't Ruby and Tom ever share every single theory and speculation we've done here? That might explain a lot of things, clean up the mess a little, and perhaps reinforce their trust a wee bit as well.

Also take a look at Ruby's blank face when she's doing crazy shit. No angry face, no maniacial laughter, nothing. Clearly she isn't herself in those moments.
