The ironic thing is that this pic kind of sums up my job. I work security.
Most staff overlook the kids at all times, waking them up in the morning, observing them during free time, moving them across campus in a group, etc. It's kind of like being a den mother/father.
Security, however, roams the campus. We check incoming visitors and escort them around campus, make perimeter checks, etc. In the event of a situation, like a kid showing constant behavior problems, getting into a fight, or breaking the rules, we get called in. We pull up in a big van, put them in handcuffs, and take them to the Security unit, which is a building built more or less like a prison, where they sit in a little cell as a sort of "solitary confinement" for a few hours or days/weeks depending on the nature of the offense.
