If someone accidentally ingests arsenic administer 5 charcoal tablets immediately. Take 5 more charcoal tablets 15 minutes later and again every fifteen minutes. Go immediately to an emergency room. Charcoal tablets should be a part of every medicine cabinet for any type of poisoning.
Chelation therapy is an option if you have arsenic poisoning. Chelation therapy is used to remove toxic metals such as cadmium, arsenic, lead and mercury from our bodies. Metals and minerals can clog our systems and can be removed with chelation therapy. The procedure has been done for forty years in the United States and is safe. Chelation therapy is a series of injections of ethylenediaminetetra aacetic acid (EDTA) that is done in a doctors office.
You can also do chelation therapy at home with over the counter chelation formulas bought at a health food store or a drug store. Most are made with alfalfa, garlic, fiber, turin and selenium. Alfalfa liquid or tablets, taken three times daily with meals, detoxifies the liver and chelates substances from the body. Coenzyme Q(10) improves circulation of the blood which allows the toxic substances to leave the body. L-Lysine, an amino acid, detoxifies harmful heavy metals from our systems. Rutin and apple pectin can be taken to bind with unwanted toxic metals and remove them from the body through the intestinal tract.
When doing any chelation therapy, make sure that you replace lost essential minerals by taking alfalfa, iron, kelp and zinc in addition to your regular multi-vitamin.

W-what? I don't know much about arsenic poisoning but...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arsenic_poisoning
    >Symptoms include violent stomach pains in the region of the bowels; tenderness and pressure; retching; excessive saliva production; vomiting... death
    >It is extremely important to seek medical advice immediately if arsenic poisoning is suspected. One way to test for arsenic poisoning is by checking hair follicles. If arsenic is in the bloodstream, it will enter hair and remain there for many years.

So, um... I guess Tom is very unsafe to touch now, since his hair is infected?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimercaptosuccinic_acid
    >Dimercaptosuccinic acid, or DMSA, is the chemical compound with the formula HO2CCH(SH)CH(SH)CO2H. This colourless solid contains two carboxylic acid and two thiol groups, the latter being responsible for the mildly unpleasant odour of this dicarboxylic acid. It occurs in two diastereomeric forms, meso and the chiral dl forms. The meso isomer is used as a chelating agent.

Well, that doesn't tell us much.

If we can go back to the room later, I suggest:
    1. mix zombie blood with solvent, analyse
    2. mix our blood with solvent, analyse
    3. mix Tom's blood with solvent, analyse

See the thing is - fish can accumulate arsenic, mercury etc. and trap it in themselves. The problem starts when someone who can METABOLIZE arsenic eats it (Human). Then you're fucked because it's now raw arsenic that kills you, it's what it's metabolized to. Mercury is another problem. Fish metabolize it to methylomercury and store it safely in their fat layer. Problem is that humans are very very very sensitive to methylomercury and what didn't kill the fish, might kill the one that ate it.

If you want Google "Mercury" and "Japan" to read something interesting.

Shout for Tom to press the hatch button on the console in is original room, see if it does anything? I'm not too hot on the skull/water buttons though...

Aaah, the mirror is smashed. Well, here we go...

    >Well, it didn't attempt to communicate at all. But it hid, unlike the freaky bear... thing.
Exactly. If it hid, it could mean it's scared. Which would mean it's not a monster/zombie.

Of course, it could just be hiding in order to ambush us or something. Or just concluded that since we were on the other side of the glass we were not a viable target.

Can Tom hear her if she yells? If so, he could go back upstairs if he's strong enough and check the room with the large computer setup and see if the ship returned power to it. Maybe he can do something from there (like find a way to use that access card) to free Ruby.

You think it hid? I think it was another test subject who saw ruby and tried to call for help, but was mauleb by a zombie crawling after him and his hand is (was) the only thing left. He might have also be a scientist or something, well let's just say that I think he was killed by a zombie and his had randomly fell into that drawer thingie.

I'm fairly sure that Tom is too weak and incapacitated, seeing how he's, you know, dying.

Ruby was wearing gloves when she tried to remove the chip. The field... shocked her? I'm not sure. It hurt too much, though, and she abandoned the effort.

I like the fact that, because we pissed off tom, we've now killed him.

I wonder if he resents that the strange bunnygirl who poisoned him and released a zombie is running around free after using him to pull a lever
