In the Noble Brightness of the 40th millenium, there is only HIGH ADVENTURE!

10,000 years ago when the universe finally began to take a turn for the better after the Eldar willingly ascended to create the Order god of Love Slaaneesh, the Emperor appeared to ensure the noble rule of Mankind. In an act of supreme sacrifice, his most favored son Horus and several of his primarchs, noble princes of mankind, sacrificed their mortal form to become princes of Order in the warp.

Since then the Emperor has ruled for 10,000 years from the golden throne on Terra, bringing peace, enlightenment, and joy to all mankind. There is clearly no better time to be alive.

Now the last vestiges of the Eldar go forth to ensure the joy and prosperity of other races before the last of them finally ascend, the Bright Eldar at the forefront of this. They are opposed by the dark forces of Eldrad, and the Eldar who were too impure to ascend to a higher plane. Eldrad's convoluted schemes are a constant source of pain and discontent for the people of the Imperium.

Across the galaxy, the Noble Savages known as the Orks are being brutally oppressed through misunderstanding and miscommunication.

On the fringes of the galaxy, the Tyranids are still being Tyranids.... there's really no way to change them.

In the distant lands of the Eastern Galaxy, a dark and chaotic empire called the Tau, using their battlecry, "For the Lesser Evil!" have formed a brutal fascist empire that uses mind control, genocide, and cannibalistic troops as a normal thing. The Emperor believes they can be redeemed.

Deep beneath the surface of many worlds, the immortal Necrontyr awaken to teach the secrets of the technologies of the distant past to modern man. They teach that prosperity is possible even without the Lords of Order, and where they go, life springs up in their stead.

    OP here.
    >>3133885
Hey, not a bad idea. I suppose that works, and it means we can use the Zoats and the Squats.

The Tyranids, the most visible member race of which are the Zoats, came to visit the Squat homeworlds, a civilization of noble miners and proud warriors. Though negotiations took many years, the Squats eventually accepted the offer of the Tyranids and joined the hivemind, and left the galaxy.

In the warp, the lords of order are the god of hope and compassion, Nurgle, who loves even the smallest of creatures, Tzeentch, god of knowledge and the magic of wonder, and Khorne, the noble warrior king, newest form of the savage former god of the eldar, Khaine. He is a warrior without bloodlust, sitting upon his throne of helms. Finally, the newest and for now most powerful of the gods, Slaaneesh, god of love and joy.

Across the imperium not all is well, however. It is a vast empire, and planets fall out of the sight of the Emperor. Corrupt politicians seek to subvert the Democratic order and ways of the imperium. Dark tyrants seek to rise up and rebel, oppressing their people brutally. Though the Lords and Princes of Order work with the Emperor to bring civilization to all mankind, the universe remains a strange and beautiful place, filled with HIGH ADVENTURE!

I see no particular need to change either from their regular versions, frankly.

Mirrorverse 40k doesn't really change everything so it's reversed; it just replaces the GRIM with NOBLE and WAR with HIGH ADVENTURE.

I see no reason why the sisters should suddenly become evil space nuns instead of good space nuns. They just lose that "I want to burn everything and masturbate in the ashes" edge.

That being said, there absolutely COULD be some evil Sisters. I mean, it's HIGH ADVENTURE to save some poor kidnapped girl like Lofn from their vials of desecration oil and wandering hands.

Eldrad is still a dick. Of course.

    Cain is still pimpin'.

Holt is still a badass enforcer of the Emperor's will, threatening corrupt and incompetent planetary governors with being sentenced to hard but fair labor building houses for the poor.

Ssssiiiindriiii! is an Order Wizard who bosses around Lord Bale as they secretly perform archeological expeditions on various Imperial worlds to increase the Imperium's knowledge base.

Eliphas is a Light Apostle, spreading happiness, joy, and love through the cosmos for his master, the Order Prince Lorgar.

Tancred is still in it for the bitches.

The Angry Marines are still in group therapy with the World Eaters, helping each other overcome their impulse control issues.

The Lazy Marines are still lazy.

The Pretty Marines and Disco Marines perform for the Imperial Masses.

    Shadowsun is still tsundere.

The Emperor's Children, nicknamed the chaste marines, are known for their highly conservative and selfless conduct.

The Day Lords are known to spread confidence and happinness throughout the galaxy and use obvious, predictable tactics so as not to dishonour the foe.

The Life Guard are a medical chapter, known across the galaxy for providing free innoculations and curing many diseases. Generally a cheerful bunch of guys.

The Felt Warriors are reknowned for their offensive tactics and prestigious deployments in many key battles, and their use of heavy armor is limited.

The World Creators are an especially pious chapter, shunning violence almost altogether and prefer defensive deployments with little combat.

The Silence Absconders are a mellow, chilled out chapter who don't particularly care about what 'gods' or 'deities' are and tend to be a lot of scientific, rational fellows.

The Theta Platoon are a highly admirable chapter that adheres to codex pattern tactics and always announce their arrival when invading a world. Their leader prefers to keep the Platoon in one place at one time and rarely splits his forces.

Finally, the white legion, the most favoured of all the emperors legions, is tasked with the duty of defending the emperor himself and are the least numerous of all space marine chapters. Highly loyal and pious, they are the most admired of all space marine fellowships.

Think of it as an alternative setting for Dark Heresy games. It's what 40k would be if things were polished up and made shiny, the chaos gods embraced their better natures and the emperor were still around.

In essence, it's transforming endless war and grimdarkness into heroic pulp sci-fi.

Mentioning pulp sci-fi, perhaps a major enemy in this setting should be the remnants of the iron men, still causing havoc after all this time. You can't have pulp sci-fi without robots, after all.

To make 40k NOBLEBRIGHT, really, there wouldn't need much.

Imperium wins the 13th Dark Crusade and repels the two new hive-fleets with relatively high losses, but still manage to keep a dominant aspect. New commanders across the Imperium need to evolve new strategies to survive with slightly lower troop count, taking pages from various war heroes of the past that actually managed well (Ciaphas Cain, Ibram Gaunt, Ragnar Blackmane, ect...) and begin "modernizing" the Imperial Guard.

Combined arms become standardized after some Imperial Guard officers and the Administratum study Tau strategies and deployment. Guard, Navy and select Space Marines (chapters that want to participate) join together under Strategos to counter the newer threats to the Imperium.

In other news, the need for combined arms forces the Adeptus Mechanicus to evolve their weaponry and equipment, and the new Adeptus Strategos forces the Skiitari into standard service in many sectors. Discovery of a "cache of ancient technological devices" by some Rogue Trader, now established in a remote sector, forces the Mechanicus to up the ante in production as well.

The Ecclesiarchy evolves with the time. While the doctrines remain the same, they crackdown on a lot of cult activities that confused people and could have caused people to turn to Chaos Worship. The Omnisiah and the Emperor are separated during a Concil, while many Space Marine Primarchs are inducted as Imperial Saints. Sisters of Battle are introduced in the global military structure of the Imperium.

All the while, the Emperor has actually passed away during the Black Crusade but people have yet to notice on Earth, the Astropathic Beacon being fed psykers to keep it going.

The AdMech is not going to suddenly turn into a non-retarded organization. It will remain full of corrupt, bumbling mystics who shake bags of chicken blood over their fusion reactors in the hopes of making them work better.

The high commanders will not realize their tactics are generally wrong. Most imperial guard regiments get to set themselves up however they want already, just with retards higher up saying "RUN AT THE ENEMY IN A SHOULDER TO SHOULDER FORMATION A MILLION MEN DEEP" while furiously masturbating.

Oh, I've got a new addition, finally! Celestine! Saint Celestine was formerly a Repentant Sister is the Emperor's Daughters. What she was repentant for is unknown, but some theorize that it was abstaining from her order's annual shota parties. What is known is that at some point she was granted a vision from the Emperor, instructing her to crusade against the inquities of the galaxy.

Heeding the Emperor's words, she embarked on a great campaign to rid the Imperium of its greatest evils (as she saw them). Weeaboos across the galaxy, especially the evil empire of the Tau, shuddered in fear as Celestine, armed in beautiful armor, held aloft by a pair of feathery wings, lead an army of flamethrower-wielding amazons on a purge of all things weeaboo.

Celestine's Crusade, as it was known, ended on the seditious world of Taros, which had been overtaken by the Tau's insidious propaganda machine. After she single-handedly destroyed the Manta Superheavy Transport of the Etherial in charge of corrupting the system, the Tau, in an act of cowardice, detonated a series of massive fusion bombs in a process known as Exuterumunatusu, literally destroying the planet.

Celestine, already considered an Imperial Saint, was honored throughout the Imperium in a month of fasting and mourning. To this day, the Fast of Celestine is considered a holy day across the galaxy.

The Orks, noble savages though they are, do occasionally march off in perfectly regimented companies to defend themselves using the highest strategy and well-timed attacks known in the galaxy. Their discipline and upright stances are legendary.

    >Void Dragon

One of the Imperium's many alien allies, and is the current democratically elected leader of the Mechanicus, a move which the Emperor lauded as a great step forward in Human-Alien relations.

    >Nightbringer

A long-gone C'tan. In days of yore, he served as a wise grandfather-like figure to many races, easing their fears about the unknown, until they felt secure enough to not fear, but crave the unknown, and not cower before the approach of 'night' in any form, be it ignorance, unexplored space etc.

    >Deciever

The Deciever is the current CEO of Necron Intergalatic Enterprises, an interglatic company that sells almost everything. Known for coming up with the corporate slogan 'You'll Be Back'.

    >Outsider

A very wise, yet reclusive being. Sealed himself away in a Dyson Sphere first chance he got to contemplate the universe and his place in it. A bit cranky, but generally kind-hearted; the Granny Weatherwax of the Mirrorverse.

So, what about deathworlds and their inhabitants? Are they now awesomesupercoolworlds with friendly plants and animals and people who live hundreds of years? Or are they still deathworlds?

well, most death worlds were planets terraformed during the dark age of technology, once the iron men disappeared humans realised they didint realy have a clue how any of this shit worked, so a great deal of technologie, including the eco-factories on terraformed worlds, fell into obscurity and crumbled to dust

so yeah, paradise worlds and all that

Look, people, this thread is not the traditional mirrorverse. Its about replacing GRIMDARK and WAR with NOBLEBRIGHT and HIGH ADVENTURE!

The heroes and adventurers of the imperium still need villains to fight, they need deathworlds to drop down to, they need laughing, fu-manchu wearing baddies and Eldrad's vile forces to contend with.

All across the imperium there is confusion and vile opportunists seek to take advantage of that. It is the adventurer; spiritual equivalent to the Rogue Trader that goes out and rights the wrongs.

Basically, everyone is pretty similar to how they are in normal 40k, still being absurdly over the top and cool, but it's now pulp fantasy in spaaaace! rather than gothic fantasy in spaaaaace!

So the traitor Primarchs became the order princes, what happened to the loyalist? Dorn still has his hands? Sanguinius isn't dead and his mean don't become vampires? The Lion isn't hiding in a rock? Russ and Vulkan didn't go off to the eye? I would also assume that Guilliman isn't trapped in a box.
