I'm sorry were you going to do something other then throw out some ad hominem?
You could learn a lot from >>2971848 and try presenting an actual argument instead of just talking out of your ass and insulting someone you disagree with. But then, as I am demonstrating, it is hard to respond to an insult with anything other than another insult when neither of us really knows the other or where he is coming from.

You make a good point. There IS a lot of genuinely pretentious crap out there. So while the word is overused, it is also called for in many cases.
Me personally, I like the OP's comic. I truly enjoyed reading it. I come from a family with an extensive military background, so seeing Fucklaw as something other than a humorous character, seeing him portrayed as an actual soldier is very personally appealing to me. I enjoy this drawfag's work. But it's easy to think of drawfags as just that, and nothing more. When really, as this thread proves, they are artists (of a sort). And when you are dealing with art, regardless of the artist's intentions, there will be a wide variety of personal reactions from people. We each experience an image, picture, movie, song, etc. differently because each of is different and each of us brings something different to the table.
Someone might enjoy this comic because it flushes out Fucklaw's character. Someone else might hate it because it's related to 40K, they don't like 40K, and they are tired of all things 40K. Each of us brings something different to the table. The important thing is being able to separate your personal preferences from your emotional reactions and to be able to appreciate something objectively as well.
But that's just my opinion at 5 in the morning. |
