chapter politics aside *cough*archerchaptermasterandleonidaschaplain*cough*
here's what we seem to agree on:
initiates get no armor and go into battle naked and/or 300 style as scouts (if 300, i say scripture loincloths a la OP pic)
-when bodies become sculpted to godly-ness, they get armor custom-modded to be as beautiful as they are, muscles, toes, and abs all detailed in. Maybe sandals. dark puple/black paint, maybe a lil red.
-marines march into battle unarmed, call the heavens and the god emperor for his swords with which to smite evil (or something like that), at which point swords rain down, they catch them, and they fight... and i guess bolters rain down too, or something...
-artillery fires power/chain weapons as ammo, hense previous dramaticness
-triple chainsword wielding unit. no idea how that'd work, but it's fucking awesome.
-flagbearers are... psykers, i guess, who instead of bearing a flag, use their power to magically generate cherry blossoms and then swirl that and their enemy's blood around the unit dramatically
-and... someone posted this as... i dunno, a battle prayer or something.
