This game is like a hybrid of Catan and Carcassonne. Each player plays off of his own field, but they all use the same 'bank' of parts.
Each player is dealt money until they hit 20 or more total. Then 4 money cards are dealt face up. Each player places their fountain piece in front of them, and then 4 building tiles are placed in the reserve. You can only buy a tile from the reserve if you have the right amount of money, in the same color of the spot on the reserve. If you have the exact amount, you can buy again. There is money reserve there as well, you can take multiple money cards if the total is less than 5, or any one card of any denomination. You can play a card immediately on your Alhambra, or place it in a reserve to be used later.
This game has fucking TONS of strategy, like buying pieces that you don't need just to keep them away from other people.Scoring happens in 3 phases, that pop in during money replenishment.
This is probably my favorite boardgame. |
