I want to make an Inquisitor PRC for my 3.5 campaign setting. I have some notes on basic shit(BaB, saves, skills)., but I'm not sure what kind of special abilities the class should give. I want the class to be fairly open ended(maybe with class talent trees pillaged from d20 modern) so as to allow for a good deal of freedom in character design(some might become very stealthy so as to find heretics in their so-called "safe havens", while another inquisitor might take a more militant approach, with a personal army). Any advice/suggestions/inspirational pics or stories?

Complete Warrior and Complete Di8vine have very effective Inquisitorial PrC in them; you may want to look through Cpmplete Divine first, since that is most likely to have what you want already built into it; at the very least it will have class abilities for you to steal.

    >>1976732
Michael Santos could have been a bully. He wasn't, but he could have been. It was something of a surprise to the teachers; he was a scrappy kid, tough, but for some reason he didn't pick on other kids. He was always polite to the adults, and most of the other kids seemed to like him as well.

Unfortunately, Michael did have a temper. He just hated loosing games, is all. He knew it was bad form to get angy about missing the softball, and he knew it was silly to knock down his sand castle when someone else's was better, but he just couldn't help the feelings of anger that just roared into flames whenever he lost.

He was always reading about knights and warriors, and he took what he read to heart. So, when the dead kids started wandering onto the playground, he did what came naturally....

    >>1976751
Yukio hated life. It wasn't fair. She was smart and pretty and had a lot going for her....except she was sick. And it wasn't the sort of sick that would go away.

She didn't have much appreciation for the troubles of others, because one scratch, one cut, and she could bleed to death. Her parents drilled it into her head how careful she had to be. She learned to take care of herself, and her mother was always careful about what she wore - which made Yukio feel a little like a dress up doll sometimes - but in her heart, she always knew it was her fault some how.

The slingshot had been a gift from her uncle, and it was a wicked thing. Her uncle had given it to her because of the dog that lived a few blocks down; it had attacked her, and she'd been in the hospital a long time. Luckily her shrieks had gotten attention very quickly, otherwise she would have died. So, the slingshot became her constant compaion, used on dogs and mean kids who tried to hurt her - from a safe distance.

When the dead kids started makign their way across the playground, she had screamed....but this time no adults came. Michael had grabbed her and tugged her to the playset....fortunately someone else had thought to grab some rocks and stones and she had enough ammunition for a little while. But the dead kids kept coming....

    >>1976809
Rachael was terribly smart. It didn't make her many friends, really. But that was okay with her - she had books, and her T.V. shows. She only watched them once, which annoyed her parents a little until she suggested just renting them from the library. She was good at making suggestions, but other kids sometimes didn't understand her.

Part of it was that she didn't always understand what other kids talked about any more than they understood what she talked about. It made things kind of difficult, but that was okay with her. She told them that and they usually laughed at her. Sometimes Yukio would chase them away from her, but Yukio said it wasn't because of her that she chased them. She liked Yukio, too, but Yukio was usually pretty rude. Michael was always polite though and she liked him; he was also the only person who never laughed when he didn't understand what she was on about.

When the zombies started invading the playground, She immediately started gathering things to throw at them from a defensable position. If she'd had more time she could have made a fence or somethign but she didn't walk all that fast. But she did remember Yukio had that slingshot and that she'd seen Michael playing knights a while ago....

All the teachers said he was a bad seed. Franky just knew what it was all about. Even when he's dislocated his shoulder falling out of a second story window into the trash heap - and it still hurt - he knew he was just doingwhat he had to do to survive.

Franky's family was poor - not really poor, not homeless, but poor. He'd started sneaking out of the house when his dad started hitting the booze too hard. Everyone knew what happened when adults drank too much, and Franky wasn't going to be anyone's punching bag.

Franky and Michael were pals. they came from different worlds, and they hated each other and liked each other a lot. Michael was always talking about knights and swords and stuff while Franky was always climbing through windows and getting into trouble. Sometimes they fought, but everyone knew they were friends. He was sorry about his dog biting Yukio, and had given his favorite slingshot to her uncle to give to her to make up for it.

Yukio's shrieks had alerted him to trouble, and now, finally, he was going to do some cool stuff, and none of the adults would say "You're not allowed!"

OpenRPG works just like any decent chat client, connect to server then connect to room. Lawrence always knew there was something wrong. He couldn't put his figner on it, but there were always little clues. Like, when his mother put the keys somewhere and she would have to look all over the house to find them again. She never accused him - she knew he wouldn't touch her keys like that. Or when he would say something to someone, and the next day no one would remember what he had said. At all. Or that he'd ever said anything.

It was, he finally decided, when he walked through doorways. Not doors. Doors were okay. But things such as gaps in fences framed by fenceposts. Or if he walked between two streetsigns on a corner and then came back by not walking between the same two signs. Something, something small, would always CHANGE.

So he read books. He studied. He didn't THINK monsters of faeries did it. He wasn't a demon or anything. But still, there were always hints, little clues. Retreating form everyone, Lawrence became quiet, introverted, and a little afraid. He wasn't sure if he was causing some of the bad things that happened on the news to happen by walking through some of those doorways....but he couldn't say that he wasn't causing them either. He could never be sure that Rachel's brother or Michael's sister were really related. They had the same last name....but they seemed to ignore each other sometimes. Other times they were really close.

And then....then something new happened. Something really, really bad.....

Born in 1873, grew up in the old west and naturally became a gunslinger during his 20s. At the age of 40 inherited some money and helped an inventor friend set up a company in the new-fangled field of electrical goods. Became rich, died in 1972 at the age of 99 and was cryonically frozen. In 2085 they were able to image his brain in software, bringing him back as a ghost infomorph. He doesn't trust newer computers so his brain won't fit inside a skull - he runs on the computer in his motorbike and teleoperates a bioshell based on a genetically upgraded clone template from his original cells, and a couple of buzzbots for fun/recon. He has antirad nano and zero-g training, because he loves to travel on the wild frontiers of the solar system. 300 points, if you can manage it.

Yeah. Is anyone else going to though?

Ideally there will be five players, and you'll be these kids experiencing the Zombie Apocalypse.

I have Transhuman Space, it's just... It's sci-fi, so I never read it. I've only read Characters and Magic.

I would DM this game for all of you.. if it was in a system I knew. GURPS is not one of those systems

Well therein lies the challenge. SF has the greatest diversity of characters, and stretches the system as a result.

Magic can do the same thing, of course, but magic systems are almost always designed around the system rather than the other way around, because magic by its nature is arbitrary and can be anything you like.
