Heinlein Station, 2511, one month before the Sprawl incidentAnother dull day at work, another wasted night at the station's bar trying to pick up chicks and drowning your boredom in booze. At the end of it you're stumbling back to your quarters in the residential zone, alone as always. For the last 3 months this has been your routine, despite your hopeful expectations about station life when you were first assigned here. You thought maybe in space you'd get some excitement, but it's the same damn thing as back on Earth. Just darker, colder and lonelier.You make a brief stop at a public bathroom on your way, taking your time on the latrine to contemplate quitting your job. With your...> Engineering> Military> Piloting> Law Enforcementskills you could go back to Earth and get a just-as-crappy job, at least there you'd get to enjoy the sun sometimes. Or who knows maybe you could even find a date that doesn't try to convert you to Unitology. Those thoughts are silenced when you hear a few thumping noises coming from the stall next to yours. Which is strange since all the stall doors were unlocked when you came in. In your semi-drunken stupor you decide to...> Check it out, someone might be having a stroke or something> Yell at whoever is having sex to keep it goddamn quiet> Just do your thing and leave, might be a whacko> Do something else? (What?)///WARNING///Dead Space knowledge isn't fresh in my head and english isn't my native language, so please correct anything stupid.
>>979465>Law Enforcement> Check it out, someone might be having a stroke or something"Move along, citizen. There's no monsters here."
>>979465> Piloting> Check it out, someone might be having a stroke or something

>>979487>>979475>>979471Seems like everyone picked the same option but I'll wait a bit to see if someone breaks the profession tie.
>>979494You put up your pants and leave your stall. It seems the noise came from the one on the right, as you saw before the door is open. To give whoever is inside some warning you knock on the door. No response aside from a gurgling noise. You opt to cautiously open the door, wary of the unpleasant sight you might be walking into. “I really hope it's not some horny kids again” you mutter to yourself.But an unpleasant sight it was, just not in any way you expected. A man with his forehead torn open, his suit covered in his blood, as is the wall next to your stall. The mystery is, there's no one else in the stall, so who could've done this?>Inspect the... crime scene?>Call your boss through comms, if this is a murder scene you'll need backup>Get outta here, you're with security but you aren't paid enough for this crap>Do something else? (What?)
>>979502>Call your boss through comms, if this is a murder scene you'll need backup
>>979502>>Call your boss through comms, if this is a murder scene you'll need backupWe have an sneaky murderer (from our point of view) and we are just enforcers, not detectives. Leave the brain work to the investigators. But do take into consideration the kind of injuries the victim had and KEEP your helmet on in case the head buster criminal is still near
Calling your boss seems like the best option. You're just an enforcer, not a detective, this is way above your pay grade. You wait for a brief moment before he picks up the comm line, the projection of a balding old man appearing before you.“Sir, I've got a big problem here, a mur-” He interrupts you, speaking in a hurry.“Officer, I was about to call you, there is an incident in the residential quarters. Can you get there fast?”“I'm nearby sir.”“Good get there.”“About that, there was a m-” Great, the old bastard shut off the communications.So now you have two problems to deal with and you didn't even get to inform him about this one.>Stick around and see if you can find anything>Hurry to the quarters, you can deal with this murder later>Dio something else?

>>979520>>Hurry to the quarters, you can deal with this murder laterI assume that as an enforcer here, you have the tools to lock the doors forcefully. If that's the case, lock the crime scene so nothing goes in or out and hurry to the quarters. The sooner we deal with the boss's bullshit, the faster we can inform them about this much more important incident
>>979533>>979535Better do what the boss tells you to, but to be safe you decide to secure the area first. It doesn't take long for you to assign the door's permission to "Enforcement Officers Only".As you arrive in the quarters you see a dozen of your peers pointing their pistols towards one of the apartments' doors. You approach them, and notice Officer Stevens is down for the count, a gaping wound on his abdomen. The medical staff is trying to keep him alive but he might be too far gone.One your seniors sees you and motions for you to come to him.“Hey, Phil, you have experience with breaching right?” He asks.“Yeah, worked in a tactical team back on Earth”“Good, you and two of my guys are going in”.>Wait, what the hell are we dealing with?>Alright, sir.>Ask for extra back-up, it's usual to take more guys in a breach like this>Do something else?

The guy coming before you almost shoots blind but you stop him and tell him to turn his goddamn flashlight on. You quickly check what the pointman tripped on. It was just a goddamn trash can. You order your team to check very corner of the current room, making sure it's clear. They inspect the place for a bit with their lights before confirming there are no enemies. Seems like good news, but you notice a trail of blood extending from the entrance to the bedroom and to the bathroom, something which both idiots failed to see.>Check the bathroom, tell the others to check the bedroom>Check the bedroom, tell the others to check the bedroom>You all check a location (which?)>Yell to whoever is in here to come out peacefully so this doesn't end badly>Another plan?

Having no idea how tough this thing really is you decide it's better to get back into the fight as soon as you get the rookie to safety. He's heavy while in that suit, close to a 100 kilos, but you manage to send him a good 2 meters away from the door. Hopefully the thing will focus on all the armed cops firing at it instead.You can hear the growing chatter of civilians, it seems all those officers got the attention of the other residents. It all turns to screams once the monster exits through the door.“WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?”“JUST OPEN FIRE”Every officer empties their guns at it, and so do you. A lot of misses, but by the time you're done there is nothing left but chunks of meat and a pool of blood.The station director arrives moments later.>Go give him your report first hand>Check on the rookie first, he needs medical care>Screw this, reload and go make sure that thing really is dead>Something else?

You need to make sure it doesn't get up, and there is only one way to do that.Reloading a clip you move in next to the beast and proceed to empty another 6 rounds into the mass of flesh. Your superior seems busy talking with the director, so you take the opportunity to gather some of the officers standing around into your own little incursion. He'll definitely be too busy dealing with this mess to nag at you later.You tell two to keep the door open and provide some illumination and fire support while another four head in with you, providing extra coverage and light. The whispers seem to come from the bedroom, so you send two guys next to each wall, they check it and give you an 'all clear' signal.You go in. It's still quite dark, but you are sure the place is empty. Still, the whispers are getting clearer and clearer.They suddenly stop when you face the bedroom's inner wall next to the door, it's full of scrawlings which look to be written in blood.“Make us whole”Followed by some weird script that doesn't make any sense. You refuse vehemently, a monster in the station and he's worried about your mental stability? He should be more worried about everyone's bodily integrity instead, 3 dead and one injured in the span of fifteen goddamn minutes. It doesn't take much for him to budge.“Alright, alright, you've got a point. But please, talk to Doctor Reed when this is all under control, I'm sure she can help you get a grip of this.”After a brief pause where he seems to ponder something, he begins speaking again:“I'll get a team to check on that bathroom crime scene, if you want you're welcome to accompany them. Miller and his boys will be forming one team to defend this area” he gestures towards a group of 12 enforcers “But since we're down 3 men that leaves only 9 men in the other area, for that reason I'm going there along with Philips to help secure the location” He looks to you and you nod to confirm you've understood your orders.A few minutes later and you're back where you started the night, sitting around the pub.. It's best to just keep it to yourself and be ready for action. You decide to offer your opinion. "We won't be able to re-stock our ammo here, we need to make use of anything. That and the RIGs should offer more protection against heat and fire than against the lethal limbs of those monsters." The officer grumbles something but doesn't seem eager to debate with you. Maybe it's because of your little display earlier.The sarge is about to go back to his cocktail making when you interrupt him again.“Hey, have you tried contacting the other teams? It might be good to inform them we're holed up in here and the others are missing.”“Well I'd need to spend some time talking to each individually. I'll just send a message to command and ask them to relay the intel.”“Fair enough.”He does so, and to your surprise the director informs you he's rerouted the troops from the hangar to here, which is strange. Why leave it unguarded?You brush it off and decide to check the outside again. Things seem mostly quiet, most people who stayed are doing so against the director's orders so they'll probably just stay hidden. Not on your watch.The element of surprise lets you take one of the enemies down and wound another, but soon they concentrate fire on your position.You're pinned but at least your friends have safe passage away from here. The sniper must be trying to relocate to a point where he can see this area, you think, so you have time for one last moment of glory.The grenade in your hands feels heavy, and you falter just long enough for you to hear gunfire coming from behind the enemy position.Could it be...You peek from your pillar to see the cultists being torn down by the reinforcements the director said he'd send.The cavalry really came, and you fade into unconsciousness with a smile on your face...That's it for now (I'm really goddamn sleepy), the thread will probably be arrive so I plan to continue tomorrow afternoon.See you lads!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QndNDGHECj4At first everything was quiet and dark like the starless nights back on earth. Until the whispers started, softly almost as if caressing your ears at first but slowly building up to a maddening buzz.The darkness gave place to the bodies of all the people you had seen die in this station, their skin covered in those same mysterious sigils that appeared in the apartment and on the invaders' armor.You wake up in a sweat, with ragged breath. Instinctively you try to get up but a sharp pain on your chest makes you reconsider, instead you simply take in your surroundings.Many beds surrounded by medical equipment, a few men and women in white coats walking around. It's pretty clear you've been taken to the med-bay.“Don't worry, we're safe here, officer” you hadn't noticed the sergeant sitting a few meters away from your bed.> “Did everyone make it?”> “Who brought us here?”> “What's our situation?> “How bad was it?”> Write-in

We've been reassigned to the squad that rescued us so we're ordered to guard the medical sector until further notice.”“We just stay here then?” says your fellow officer as he arrives on the scene.“That's what the director ordered yes. The hallways in the surgical block are pretty narrow. Narrower than the usual ones, maybe it's to save space for the large rooms the doctors operate in.The place isn't empty, and you see there's about half a dozen surgeries going on at once, one of them you could see was the removal of a monster spike that had impaled a man's thigh.After about half an hour of boring patrol you get a comm call:“Hey, new guy, one of the doctors reports he heard some weird noises while he operated in one of the surgical theaters. Go check it out” you acknowledge your orders and move to the specified room.It's pretty clear a surgery took place here recently, blood is splatter on the table and on the floor, a large rotating saw sits on the surgical table along with other instruments and a curtain separates the room in two.The room is apparently empty, but you've got a weird feeling pulling on the back of your mind.>Check the ceiling, a leaper again?>Check behind the curtain>Inspect the room further>Write-in?

Rolled 9 (1d20)>>983375>Now, attack it from behind!Well, the thread isn't in auto-s*ge mode yet. That's only if it's three days old. You can make a new one if you want.
>>983384Knew my luck would turn. Please someone else roll. ;_;
>>983384I'll make a new one then.>>983389If no one else rolls I'll do it, don't worry.
