Shinobi Quest #54This quest takes place within the lands of the Five Great Shinobi Nations (aka Narutoverse) starting roughly around the beginning of the original series. The world of this quest remains similar to the original, with slight but notable differences in certain areas, based upon the passage of time from a single slightly altered event. (It’s a goddamn Naruto Quest, you bastards. Have fun, participate, and write in when you feel inclined. Most of the outcomes of this quest will be determined by you, the players. Critiques and questions are always welcome, as my knowledge of the weeby shit is not all encompassing.)http://pastebin.com/WiPdCqLHPrevious Threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Shinobi%20QuestLast thread, Tsuki Norihime interacted with many of her friends and allies, as Konoha’s recovery began. After spending time with Fuu, you took Hinata with you to cheer up Itachi-sensei, discovering your potential ANBU candidacy in the process. Later, you spent time with Danzo, who reunited you with a friend thought lost, along with some important keepsakes. You spoke at length about the revival of ROOT, and the old shinobi requested that you take a direct role in it’s future. Busy days lie ahead…..
First for protecting Danzos smile
>>913539First for Wargle being half-and-hour late.
My body is ready.
Why do we have so many gifs of Tsuki and hinata?I don't think they've flirted with each other a single time.
>>913539Ah, so it arrived. This will likely be the session where we decide how ROOT is going to play out within Konoha, so I hope you faggots are ready.
>>913546>>913557The first thing is cancer.
>>913576It's the /u/-boat being /u/, but the quality is so good that they get a pass anyways.
Make Konoha Great Again!
Ah! The only reason to come to /qst/ is here!
>>913577Danzo All The Way.
>>913587We'll bring jobs back and keep them in Konoha.
>>913597Hey now, MSPQ runs here too
>>913609Like he said the only reason.
>>913597Mini is still aliveAnd is running RIGHTNOW
>>913597Hey now. What about that new wizard tower quest?
>>913637I totally lost interest after the exams. The new team we were supposed to work with felt odd. Wasn't really a fan of the new characters.Wargle's quest is superior.
>>913661You mean that teamThat we only worked with once
People have different tastes and that's okay.
>>913674Dono. I stopped following.
TIME FOR ROOT ROUTE
The next morning comes swiftly, as if to deny you of any respite. Danzo did not pressure you into making any commitments yet, but you know that a choice will need to be made eventually. For now, you’ve chosen not to stress yourself. Your recovery has just begun, after all- neither ANBU nor ROOT will benefit from a one-armed shinobi.--------------After breakfast, Hinata escorts you to the hospital, where the ever-busy medical-nin provide you with medicine, along with beginning another tedious session of healing. Due to a variety of factors (Kushina’s requirement for near-round the clock care, coupled with losses from the attack, you suspect) your sessions are rather gradual, the doctors taking time to carefully regrow your arm’s skeletal structure. The process isn’t exactly…. comfortable, although the medicine certainly helps dull the pain. Thankfully, Hinata is always nearby to distract you with idle conversation.“What do you have planned today, Tsuki-hime?” She asks politely. You think for a moment. Nothing is overly pressing, but….1. You have a meeting with a clan leader to facilitate.2. You plan on spending some time training.3. You need to spend some time in meditation, away from the world. (After all, you don’t know how patient either the Four or Kaguya will be with their requests of you.)4. You plan to take it easy. That’s what you need to recover, after all!
>>913707>2. You plan on spending some time training.
>>913707>1. You have a meeting with a clan leader to facilitate.Business first
>>913707>1. You have a meeting with a clan leader to facilitate.
>>913707>2. You plan on spending some time training.Maybe she could train with us.Also she's a damn good friend to sit through this shit with Tsuki.
>>913707>1. You have a meeting with a clan leader to facilitate.Should let our arm get better still.
>>913707>4No gains or God fuckery for nowJust rest
>>913707>1. You have a meeting with a clan leader to facilitateWe can talk with the Beasts/Kaguya anytime we can meditate, but the leaders run on schedules.
>>913707>3. You need to spend some time in meditation, away from the world. (After all, you don’t know how patient either the Four or Kaguya will be with their requests of you.)Minimal training until we're healed. Doesn't mean we can't get shit done.
>>913707>3. You need to spend some time in meditation, away from the world. (After all, you don’t know how patient either the Four or Kaguya will be with their requests of you.)Since our arm is busted anyways, training won't be s effective as it could be. We need to take it easy for it physically to let it heal and all. But doing something mentally should be still useful. We got a quest from Kaguya, and a meeting with the 4 arrogant assholes.
>>913678You stop following after one bad session? Your an idiot.>>913707>4. You plan to take it easy. That’s what you need to recover, after all!
>>913707>3. You need to spend some time in meditation, away from the world. (After all, you don’t know how patient either the Four or Kaguya will be with their requests of you.)
>>913707I forget, did we meet or find out anything about the bunny boy during our last meeting with Kaguya?
>>913773No. Quit meta-gaming.
>>913773We know nothing about him whatsoever, save that he exists.
>>913778>>913787okay, just needed the reminder.
>>913795Executions and Murders
Once this is done its definitely time for the mental stuff
“Apparently the Clan Head of the Aburame has requested a visit from me- Danzo mentioned it yesterday.” You admit.“Oh? Shino’s grandmother, right? I can’t say I know much about her… what does she want?” Hinata asks.“She-”“Oh Tsuki, you don’t think it’s a betrothal offer, do you? Father’s been worried about it ever since you first showed off your abilities….” Hinata muses, blushing faintly.What.You try to mask your reaction… with middling results.“Hinata, surely you’re joking? Konoha is barely a week out of the crucible- Would somebody truly be so uncouth?” You respond.“If they’re looking to get ahead of the competition, I wouldn’t completely disregard the idea… the clans are merciless about these sort of political dealings, after all. Father’s been deflecting marriages offers since I was small- and your unique abilities coupled with your family’s wealth…. If everything wasn’t in flux right now, those with the most to gain probably would’ve already made their offers.” She explains.Marriage, huh? Danzo had mentioned the possibility as well, once- surely that’s not what the Aburame would demand in exchange for their loyalty, right?…..right?You…1. Reject the idea of political marriage outright. Father married for love, and so will you- if you decide to at all.2. Don’t necessarily hate the idea of political marriage- but it’s not really something you want to think about. Besides, you’re too young. 3. Welcome the idea. Let these needy shinobi clans compete and struggle for a place at your feet! Ohohohohoho!~
>>913941>2. Don’t necessarily hate the idea of political marriage- but it’s not really something you want to think about. Besides, you’re too young.
>>913941>2. Don’t necessarily hate the idea of political marriage- but it’s not really something you want to think about. Besides, you’re too young.lets panic about it when it becomes an actual concern
>>9139412. Don’t necessarily hate the idea of political marriage- but it’s not really something you want to think about. Besides, you’re too young.
>>913941>1. Reject the idea of political marriage outright. Father married for love, and so will you- if you decide to at all.awww yiss
>>913941>3. Welcome the idea. Let these needy shinobi clans compete and struggle for a place at your feet! Ohohohohoho!~I can't help it
>>913941>2. Don't necessarily hate the idea of political marriage- but it’s not really something you want to think about. Besides, you’re too young.I guarantee that she will try to pressure us into marrying someone, and she'll relish forcing us to refuse without offending her.Remember what Danzo said: Never let yourself be indebted to her.
>>913941>1. Reject the idea of political marriage outright. Father married for love, and so will you- if you decide to at all.
>>913941>3. Welcome the idea. Let these needy shinobi clans compete and struggle for a place at your feet! Ohohohohoho!~The most tsuki answer so far
>>9139413. Welcome the idea. Let these needy shinobi clans compete and struggle for a place at your feet! Ohohohohoho!~I mean as long as we get to decide which man we like i got no problems with it.
Overwhelmingly 2.Let's get down to business.
>>914015>Let's get down to business. To defeat... the Huns!
“I’ll address it if it happens- but I’m certainly not going to make such a commitment right now. There are plenty of other ways to build alliances without resorting to marriage, anyway.” You say with a sigh.Hinata laughs- and you can’t but smile.------------The meeting with Kogoto Aburame isn’t hard to arrange- simply speaking to one of the clansmen working in the ROOT Facility is enough.“Kogoto-sama will be very pleased that you’ve responded to her offer so soon.” The man says, bowing.“Expect her response soon. She usually receives visitors in the evening- we will fetch you when the time comes.”You thought the man would leave in order to deliver his news, but instead he simply releases a small beetle, which quickly makes it’s way out of the facility. The Aburame certainly are resourceful, but you are still more than a little grossed out by all the bugs. For a brief moment, you remember the feeling of Shino’s chakra bugs on your exposed skin- and shudder. You resist the urge to buy insect repellent before the meeting, a mighty feat indeed.Bleh.------------Looking at your limited wardrobe, you sigh. A meeting of import demands a conscious choice of attire- and the outfit you wore to the exams was unsalvageable. Maru thankfully had spare outfits for you, but your current selection is a shadow of it's former self, making the choice somewhat more difficult for you. Finally, you….1. Decide on something traditional.2. Decide on something flashy.3. Decide on something plain.4. Give up and wear your uniform instead.
>>914230>1. Decide on something traditional.
>>914230>4. Give up and wear your uniform instead. This is for the village.
>>914230>2. Decide on something flashyWe're Tsuki fucking Norihime, we wear what we please.
>>914230>1. Decide on something traditional. We're meeting with an old matriarch of another clan, so best to stay formal, and not too flashy or plain.
>>9142301. Decide on something traditional. We're meeting the old school
>>914230>2. Decide on something flashy.
>>914230>2. Decide on something flashy.Tsuki. Is. Glorious.
>ITT: Everyone votes for boring stuff Come on, we're Tsuki Norihime, we're flashy personified
>>914279"Traditional" doesn't have to mean bland, anon.
>>914279Think about who you are meeting. We aren't a one note girl.
>>914230>1>>914279Yes but where also a businesswoman We need to show some respect to an old matriarch with backstabby tendencies
>>914279No. We can do flashy at any time we choose when it doesn't matter. But when we're preparing for a mission, or for other special occasions, we wear what is the most appropriate clothing/attire for the event. Besides, Traditional clothing can be plenty beautiful anyways.
We should ask danzo to bring a few poison antidotes too...she may test us. Also upon return check for literal bugs
>>914349Why poison the daughter of a village VIP and the daughteru of an ally?
Traditional Tsuki is a go~Writing.
>>914349I doubt she would poison Tsuki.
>>914374traditional with a tsuki twist
>>914349Why would they poison the daughter of one of the richist and most powerful men in the village especially when you can set a political marriage and get the kek gen
>>914358>Why poison the daughter of a village VIP and the daughteru of an ally?I don't know, why would a dangerous and highly competent schemer test a candidate in a way they would have to seriously address? I doubt she would try to kill us, but poisoning us with something mild to test our response isn't so unlikely.Better safe than sorry, anyways.
>>914404That sort of test seems lolrandum and I don't think she would have made it this far with that attitude.
>>914404Quit being so paranoid.
>>914404Now, you're just being silly.
>>914404If this was something hardcore like an ANBU entrance exam or the like, I'd believe it. But why a formal meeting with a old clan head? It's not like Tsuki is being tested here for her ninja competence. Indeed, I'd imagine it's a test of our intentions, willingly to do what is necessary, and an understanding of our character to determine whether or not she should truly back this new ROOT we wanted to restart. After all, would you want to put your clan's political and physical future at risk so easily without proper consideration?
>>914439I mean we are planning treason
>>914424>quit being so paranoid>while literally trying to covertly resurrect Konoha's disbanded blackest ops group under its own flagIf you aren't going to be the paranoid one, then somebody has to be.>>914439I do agree that it's probably going to simply be what you describe, but it's dangerous to blindly assume we know what's going on in her head. An ounce of prevention, and all that.
It’s not really your style, but wearing something traditional is probably a good idea.On your last birthday, one of your gifts had been a purple kimono with blue butterfly accents that, according to Maru, made you look more mature- although you’re pretty sure she was teasing you. Regardless, it’s a nice formal outfit, and it brings out the color of your eyes. You summon a Hyuga serving girl to help you dress, before admiring yourself in the mirror. It certainly fits you better than it did a year ago- this may just have been the right choice after all.Rummaging through your tools, you produce your trusty custom war fan. It’s been awhile since you’ve used it for anything… but it was designed for situations like this- and a true shinobi never goes into a situation under-prepared. You tuck a few other tools- smoke bombs, wire and the like- into your outfit, but avoid anything overtly usable as a weapon. Wouldn’t want to give the wrong impression, after all. After readying yourself, you set out to leave the compound and head towards the Aburame district of Konoha, one of the few areas that escaped with little damage. You…1. Request a Hyuga escort.2. Go alone.
>>914499>2. Go alone.
>>914499requiest a hyuga
>>914468If they do something like that, the answer is simple. Refuse to do anything about the poison. Let them sort out the antidote.Otherwise it'll end up as they killed the heir to the Norihime clan when she went there for negotiations. In the wake of the Konoha crush, the entire clan would face censure and the head executed.>>9144991. Request a Hyuga escort. Why not. For this sort of meeting, one expects attendants or bodyguards. And this isn't a hush hush meeting.
>>9144992. Go aloneShe wants to meet us, besides the Hyuga are not confirmed on side yet.Maybe ask danzo for a few trustees to follow hidden briefly? If he's about that is.
>>914499>2. Go alone. The less people who know the better>>914513It is though
>>9144991. Request a Hyuga escort.
>>914499>1. Request a Hyuga escort.
>>914499>2. Go alone. It's a one-on-one meet. No need for others.
>>914518This may be a way to bring the Hyuga onto our side. Sure we've got Hinata but the clan as a whole is more useful.
>>914499>2. Go alone.I'm inclined to keep this under wraps, so far as possible.
>>914499Hm, would having an escort make us seem more cultured and sophisticated, or would it make us seem reliant on others?>2. Go aloneI just realized that any Hyuuga would report everything they saw to their clan, so it's probably better to go alone, just in case.
>>914519I do not expect the escort to sit in the meeting as well, more likely, this will merely be an escort to their compound.
>>914547We can take care of ourself for the most part, and the less people who know were having meetings with clan heads the better
>>914499>2. Go alone.A show of good faith
>>9144991. EscortBuilds relations with the clan as well.
>>914499>2. Go alone. We need to think about what message we send here.Taking a Hyuuga along is a clear defensive gesture. It implies we don't trust their hospitality, and that we arent secure in our own political capability. Reliant on the benefits of borrowed strength. On the other hand, it also shows we have the clout to GET some backup, and that we're rightly cautious when facing capable opposition with unknown intent. There are benefits and drawbacks either way.
My thought process is, the Hyuga still respond to their elder, they will likely watch in with their eyes to gather information. Don't let that happen. It's not like they are against us, but they Ai t for us.Hinatas dad will be posturing
>>914557Why the heck not. With our father out of konoha, we are the representative and heir to the norihime. That high level talks are taking place should not be out of place, consider the state oh upheval konoha is in.Instead consider this. We are in the Hyuuga compound and Tsuki Norihime walks out without an escort properly dressed in traditional outfit, a large departure from her usual dress, heading somewhere unknown.Bringing along an escort is a show of good faith to our Hyuuga hosts that we're not scheming anything behind their backs.
>>914582We're also Danzo's ward so people are going to be suspicious about us politicing, and the Hyuuga's might suspect something if we go out alone but thats better then them knowing who we're talking to
>>914592We just told Hinata who we're meeting with while being tended by a medical nin.The Hyuuga know already that we're going to meet with Kogoto.
>>914592Hinata already knows though. Word will eventually make its way to hisashi, count on it.We might as well make it as an above-board meeting.
Going it alone.Writing.
>>914611>>914615They know we are meeting and will likely talk about stuff. But when ROOT comes up we want no prying eyes
>>914615See >>914633 This isn't going to be a courtesy call, we'll be discussing serious shit, and I guarantee anybody they send with us would have orders to learn as much about what we're doing as possible.
>>914633I would imagine a hyuuga initiating byakugan in the vicinity of a closed door meeting would a major breech of diplomatic protocol. These type of talks would definitely also be warded and the escort watched closely to make sure it doesn't occur without being known. In any case, it is done.
So we're going root right? Not anbu?
>>914711We may be a root in anbu.
>>914711Yup, somebody has to do it to keep Konoha safe
>>914711ROOT all day ery night anon. WE ARE THE NIGHT WE ARE THE TSUKI (with our sidekick Yume)
>>914711ROOT all the way.
>>914732Yume is our summon. I thought Hinata was our sidekick.
>>914732>Everyone who wants a meeting with Tsuki has to go through a meeting with Yume
>>914711Yea, I feel pretty committed at this point.
>>914711Pretty much everyone agrees that we're going ROOT, the question is how we're going to do it.>Refuse ANBU and do ROOT operations underground>Reinstate ROOT through Danzo as Hokage/political pressure on non-Danzo Hokage>Accept ANBU and act as mole for ROOT (note that Danzo thinks this is a Bad Idea)
>>914711I'm still of the opinion that with such a flashy kekkei genkai, Tsuki is thoroughly ill-suited to being a covert operative in the field. As an organizer and a shot-caller, sure, but not where our involvement can be so easily and directly proven.
>>914757We just have to use skills that can't be tracked back easily. Lightning and Fire jutsus should be fine and we could probably get away with using a sword.
>>914711ANBU would seem to be a better choice since Tsuki is too "unique".
>>914757In the field, whether it be ROOT or ANBU(pfft!), we'd still need to restrict the usage of her Stellar release either way if we want to stay anonymous and unknown. So better to just utilize normal fire and lightning jutsus only, and no on using the signature weapons such as the Raiga blades at all. Rather, I think we should develop another unique weapon with help from Norihime technology for our ROOT persona.
>>914753I would support reinstating ROOT as part of ANBU.The goal really should be creating a proper sustainable organisation ready to do everything to defend konoha and her interest and not just those of a specific individual or merely for ROOT itself. The old organisation of ROOT relied too much on power of charisma. A skilled operator could infiltrate and abuse those powers.
>>914763Our swordsmanship is pretty milquetoast though, and we're unlikely to be doing shit with it without the extremely-recognizable Kiba.Investing in technology would be a better choice because Tsuki's public MO doesn't rely on technology and it would shore up our ability to fight without chakra.
>>914763>>914767So in other words we should avoid using or strongest, signature abilities. This is what I mean. We would only ever be partly effective in the field if we need to maintain secrecy, while if we continued to go on regular missions while orchestrating ROOT behind the scenes we would be more effective.
>>914780But who would be able to get all that cutting edge tech? Everyone would assume they were connected to us
The only acceptable use of Stellar for us and remaining covert is afterglow is dad makes us a light insulatinging plug suit and maybe an assassination move where we just flood someone with chakra causing them to turn to ash, not even leaving a body. Just picture it palm into someone's chest and the explode into ash, war of the world's style.
>>914767So we should become Ninja Batman?
>>914783True, we'd have to go to some trouble to keep it from obviously being Norihime in origin.Actually, this might work if we develop our own technology instead of relying on Yoru's because it wouldn't be Yoru's product, it would literally be our own, and nobody would be able to trace its origins to Norihimecorp.
High tech and unique weapons will only make it easier to trace it back to Tsuki.
I think for now Tsuki can be essentially reverse ANBU, an ordinary jonin who takes missions for the Hokage just like everyone else, but who secretly receives OTHER orders and missions to be carried out parallel. We take missions as excuses or opportunities to get out fo the village or gain access to information and then either covertly do ROOT stuff on the side, or go completely off the grid by taking fake missions, switching places with doubles, or attending to personal business. >>914789>Tsuki in a plug suitI like the way you think. Don't forget we can TOTALLY build an EVangelion too.
>>914800Still high tech is something thats rare as shit and only our company would be able to make it realistically
You briefly consider asking Hiashi for an escort, but quickly decide against it. If Danzo is to believed, you will be watched from the moment you arrive- and when negotiating with a secretive clan like the Aburame, it is likely unwise to bring people capable of seeing through walls. As the sun begins to set, you leave the Compound. The guards are quite used to your coming and going by now, so they say nothing.Wanting to avoid the public eye, you travel along the rooftops towards the Aburame district, watchful for anything out of the ordinary. Not that you’re overly concerned about it, but….It wouldn’t hurt to be cautious. You reach the Aburame district by nightfall, and are quickly thankful for deciding to avoid the roads- this area of Konoha, while normally pretty dense populated, has overflowed with civilians and other shinobi taking shelter after the attack. As a result it looks more like a slum than the district of one of the four noble clans. Why had they all concentrated here? In all likelihood, Hiashi had refused them, and many people were suspicious of the Uchiha in the aftermath of the attack. No doubt the Aburame weren’t too pleased by this, but they aren’t exactly judgmental- in fact, by all accounts, the Aburame are quite charitable. This could just be a front, though- charity and inclusion to mask a dark secretive underbelly…Filled with bugs.Ugh.-----------------You hop down from the roof of a nearby building as you approaching the compound, as to maintain appearances. Straightening your outfit, you turn the corner and face the Aburame compound. --and nearly run right into Shino.“Ah! Shino- I-” You stammer, startled.“Evening, Tsuki. Grandma Kogoto is expecting you.” He says calmly.You…1. Try to remain composed.2. Try to get information from Shino.
>>914820>1. Try to remain composed.
>>914783So don't make it look cutting edge. Make the tool either completely normal and plain looking, or disguise it with ornamental decorations to hide it's means of function. Basically, ultra dull or super flashy. I for one wonder if we can get a High-Frequency Blade when we charge it with lightning chakra. >>914781I don't mind being limited to using less options. In the end, Stellar jutsus cost so much that we normally can't use it often anyways. Thus, while the other elemental jutsus are less powerful, we can use them more often. Also, being in ROOT over normal missions is not able being able to use maximum power, it's about the kind of mission we would be able to do. For example, using flashy powers to protect a client could be far less useful for Konoha's future safety than being able to steathily track and follow a dangerous individual or group on an Intel-gathering mission. Power isn't the answer to everything, and is certainly not the most needed factor for every kind of mission.
>>914820>1. Try to remain composed.Start polite besides Shino is one smart fucker
>>914820>1. Try to remain composed.Be polite.
>>9148201. Try to remain composed.
>>914820>>1. Try to remain composed
>>914812Our company? Or an inventor who invested a bunch of her own time into making stuff that clearly doesn't remotely resemble any Norihime product or design? Not to mention that >>914823 brings up an excellent point as well. In fact, playing the tools off as a function of chakra instead of technology would likely throw off any remaining assumptions about its origins.>>914820>1. Try to remain composedWe likely don't have nearly enough Social Link with Shino for him to divulge anything about his clan head.
>>914848How many other inventors are even close to the Norihime level?
>>914823You're right, power isn't everything. But you're still advocating that we put Tsuki in a situation where her powerful, unique abilities get shelved on a regular basis instead of using them to their full effect. In essence you want us to take on missions with one arm tied behind our back, missions that other ninja could complete using more conventional and less easily traced means. We don't HAVE to do everything ourselves.
Let's take it easy.Writing.
>>914851Seeing the shit that Sasori came up with alone, it's not at all improbable that similarly talented tech ninjas exist out there.
>>914858And Sasori himself was considered near-peerless in his field. You're comparing two master craftsmen when by all indications almost everyone else is basically banging rocks together.
>>914863By similarly-talented, I meant ninja whose tech skills are good enough to operate at Jounin/ANBU levels. The point in all this is that technological skill alone is not inherently a red flag pointing to the Norihime corporation. If we take the time to keep the effects subdued or make them appear to operate off chakra instead of technology, then the trail is muddied further, and nobody could reasonably assume it to be connected to the Norihime's with that alone.
>>914879And what I mean is that anything even remotely approaching Norihime levels of ingenuity and technical advancement is rare enough in the setting to draw unwanted attention. It's the same reason Batman always made me groan a little, because who actually would believe some guy made something as nuts as the Batmobile in his garage... you know, as opposed to implicating the massive corporation with nearly unlimited funding and technical expertise?
You cough.“Evening, Shino. I’m eager to meet her- I’ve heard many good things.” you say, trying to regain your composure. Shino looks you dead in the face. With his dark glasses and high collar, it’s almost impossible to make out any expression-Then he starts to laugh. It’s a deep and guffawing laugh- and he’s laughing so hard that his eyes are beginning to tear up“....Shino? I don’t-” “Haaaa…… You’ll have to excuse me, Tsuki-chan…. I seem to have forgotten myself. Please, follow me.” He says, his composure immediately returning.Shino leads you down the dimly lit alleyway, before turning toward the high walls of the Aburame compound. He stands in front of the door, taking no action. Despite this, the doors open by unseen hands; Shino walks forward casually, before beckoning you inside.“Hurry, Tsuki-chan; the doors will shut if I move too far from them. There pheromones of my beetles are attuned to those working the gate.” He explains.Bugs… working the gate? It’s all a bit beyond you, although honestly you’d prefer not to know. You hurry inside, and Shino continues to be your guide. He leads you inside the main hall, which looks surprisingly normal. The interior is decorated with fine, if somewhat average furniture, along with photos of several of the Aburame clansfolk.“Please, take a seat. I’ll announce your arrival.” Shino says, all trace of previous humor gone. You oblige him, and sit in a nearby chair. Shino slides open a nearby door, and closes it behind him, disappearing from view.
>>914908Okay. Let's put it this way: A vigilante is running around New York fighting crime with a high tech super vehicle and gear.Who's the real life batman?
>>914914But everyone else in the world isn't centuries behind technologically
>>914915In the movies didn't they travel to a modern day city with movie theaters and shit?Didn't we fight samurai with some high tech shit in this quest?
>>914911>"I'm eager to meet her- I've heard many good things">her stoic grandson thinks that's the funniest shit
>>914919Anons are likely overstating the technological ineptitude of the setting. Even without Yoru's genius, things like televisions, plastics, radios, etc all exist within Naruto. In the sequel they have handheld gaming console's and super-high tech computers, even.Tech moves fast in the anime world. But to answer your question, Yojimbo and his samurai friends had some Norihime weaponry.
>>914931Thanks for the clarification Based QM. Now that there is no fear of over-teching and leading people to suspect Norihime tech only, let's fully indulge in Bat-Tsuki levels of gadgetry and technology!
>>914937>no fear of over-teching>quoted post literally states that the other advanced weaponry we've seen IC was Norihime-madeI'm done. Literally no amount of argument will change peoples' minds, so fucking go for it.
After several minutes, Shino reappears.“She’s ready to see you now, Tsuki-chan. I’ll lead the way.” He says, beckoning to the door behind him. “Of course. Thank you, Shino.” You respond, trying to be as polite as possible. He leads you through several passageways, eventually reaching a staircase that leads downward.“A great deal of our compound is underground- not unlike a hive. It connects our buildings in ways that normal construction would not allow.” Shino explains, walking down the staircase at a casual pace. When you reach the bottom, he stops you, and takes out a stick of incense. “Before we continue, I need you to hold this.” He says, handing you the stick.“Burn the tip with some of your chakra. A little should be plenty. The scent of this incense, infused with your chakra, will normalize them to your scent and your foreign chakra.” Shino instructs.“Them?” You inquire.“From this point forward, insects of many varieties next within the walls and ceilings of our home. Many roam freely. They have been trained to attack outsiders or unfamiliar chakra signatures, but this incense will acclimatize them to you. You’ll be perfectly safe, Tsuki-chan.” He finishes, noticing your slight fidgeting. “Perfectly safe…. Right….” you grumble, lighting the end of the incense stick. With that done, Shino leads you onward, through several more corridors and down two more sets of stairs. Finally, you reach a long hallway, where a lonely door sits at the far end.“Grandma Kogoto is waiting for you in there. I’ll be here to guide you back when your business has concluded.” He says.“Thanks again, Shino.” You respond. His dark glasses again hide any sort of emotion from the shinobi.“Not a problem, Tsuki-chan.”
I'm starting to get worried here. Here's hoping Grannie Aburame isn't secretly the Wargleverse's Zouken Matou
>>914966You mean let's hope so
>>914966Aburame go through it willingly.
>>914958I bet they play this shit up just to enjoy watching outsiders squirm.Shino is definitely appealing to my nightmare fetish here though.
>>914969t. Sakura the worm slut
>>914971We just need to bring him up to style, wax his hair to slicked back, he can keep those shades, get him some more fashionable clothes and he'll be the stud of the hive....seriously though I can't stand his hair...I can't. Maybe an amber piercing or some bling?
>>914975I don't want to husbando Shino, but he does have the best part 3 design by far
Have a berserker Sakura
>>914977Don't worry I have my own natch in mind for Tsuki but it ain't shino
>>914971>bug nightmare fetish>with our like twelve year old female protagonistShinobi Quest really does have a mix of great ideas and absolute cancer among the playerbase.I already regret my observation. Please dear god let this go the way of puppets
>>914980This navel, brought to you by the letter 'M'.
>>914983Puppets are fucking dope though, senpai.
>>914983I didn't say Tsuki should go for it, I just said Shino appealed to me.
>>914985*were* dopeThat idea died about 50 threads ago easily.
>>914985They're also deader than Deidara
>>914991>We will never enter into a contest to put on the most spectacular explosion-based jutsu lightshow to earn psychotic blonde husbando's admirationToo soon.
>>915000If we use his arm maybe his spirit will talk to us, it wouldn't be the weirdest part of Naruto
>>914990>>914991Dopeness does not go away with time, puppets are like a match made in heaven, no other choice is as ideal for our chakra nature, resources, intelligence, and lack of physical ability.I'm not arguing for them because I'm aware the idea is dead, but let's be real here; we picked the generic route. We do it well, but "ninjutsu nuke with sword dual-wielding" is so fucking boring and impersonal in how much of standard fallback it is.
>>915001That makes sense, since when he sealed his technique into that arm he also imparted a small part of his soul into it to give advice and possible flirtation to his inevitable successor.>Still not even much stupider than canon
>>915000>Husbando>A murderous traitor who destroyed our house, intended to kill our friends and family, and who's partner murdered our sensei's father, forever denying Itachi the reconciliation he so clearly cravesUhuh, please, go on with house shit your taste is.
>>915005*howfuck, goddammitThe arm thing is ALSO a terrible idea.
You walk towards the door, slowly. The hallways stretches farther than it seems, and at your pace it takes your farther than it should to reach the doorway. All at once, you’ve reached it- and cautiously, you reach forward to the doorknob. You gently turn the knob and push, and the door acquiesces. Inside, an elderly woman sits alone at a table, packing tobacco into a long, slender pipe. The room itself is brightly lit and plainly adorned, with-“Well, come in, girl. I don’t have all evening for you to admire my home.” Kogoto Aburame criticizes, interrupting your observation. The woman’s voice is low and sultry, seemingly undamaged despite her habit. Not wanting to subjected to further criticism, you step forward, closing the door behind you. You introduce yourself, but the woman seems uninterested, instead lighting her pipe, eventually taking a long drag. Her eyes narrow in on you, and she exhales a thin stream of smoke in your direction.“I know who you are. Sit.” She says sharply. You obey, pulling out the chair.Sitting down, you find yourself face to face with the head of the Aburame clan.A faint, knowing smile spreads across her lips.“Shall we begin?”
>>915008>The arm thing is ALSO a terrible idea.I agree. Our arm's healing up, so why fucking tear it off?
>>915012In more seriousness, we may have a shot at reverse engineering that arm, or learning the jutsu. I doubt we'll be able to replicate its functionality perfectly though. Still, you never know.(His clay also seems like a good fuel. Just saying.)
>>915012I would never advocate tearing off a perfectly good arm. Well off of Tsuki anyway. But if Tsuki's arm had been destroyed I think it would have been a decent idea. Those bombs/clay would have been neat.
>>915009Lets.Also the bugs took our chakra to track us and some creapy teat, likely mimic our look so they can do something to us.
And I'm gonna stop there for tonight, because I'm writing really slowly even by Wargle standards, and I have work in 6 hours. As recompense the rest of the thread will be more substantial, promise.Thread will resume either Friday or Saturday evening. As always, throw your ideas about for QM commentary.
>>915022Thank you for running and goodnight.
>>915022Thanks for running! How bad exactly was the state of our arm at the end of the crush?
>>915022thanks, bossLooking forward to it
>>915027Pretty bad. Shattered bones, torn ligaments, muscles, etc.The medi-nin are basically regrowing bones and healing destroyed flesh.
>>915035So bad enough where cutting it off and replacing it is reasonable?
>>915037>Cutting off one of your limbs which can heal and be good as new is reasonableGet your amputee fetish out of this quest.
>>915037It sounds like modern tech would amputate and we're just keeping the arm because medical jutsu is bullshit and there was a negative backlash to losing the arm.
>>915040You got me anon, I don't want it because it would make Tsuki stronger and give her powerful new techniques. I want it because I just get so hard thinking about her stump arm.
>>915044>stronger and give her powerful new techniques.Sure, Anon.
>>915044Won't work. You need Deidara's bloodline to use his clay.
>>915082You have a point, but the idea originally came from Wargle so I don't know. I'd probably have to hear what he'd say about it
>>915037Not at this point.
>>915083It was a something I was half joking about in a twitter conversation. Is it possible? Of course! But if its really something Tsuki would just *do*? How eagar would you be to cut your own arm off? Like so many things, the potential for it exists, but I'm averse to pushing anything- that's you goofballs choice to make.
>>913539While i hate your weeaboo fest qm, your ilk is what drove us from /tg/, I love that gif, wellmade and cute reactions.
Why does Tsuki look like Fu?
>>915777Sheer chance, if you can actually believe it.Blue hair and dark skin were decided early on, and it was only much later that we realized she looks strikingly similar to Fuu.Some faggot mentioned this quest in the /qtg/ didn't they?
>>915777We also have blue hair and yellow eyes like Orochimaru's fuck boy in Boruto.
>>915782Is it like a "The Horse and His Boy" kinda thing?
>>915795They aren't related at all; that anon was making shit up.
>>915798But why do I like his bullshit more than the truth?
>>915795Exactly. The anon above is full of shit.
>>915795Nope, they just happened to have similar genes.
>>915800Because it is funny. But no amount of shitposting will make it true since Tsuki is very much not related to Fu. Unless Snake Pedo also worked on Fu to have a match.
>>915802Happen to have similar genes like Sasuke and Itachi have similar genes?
>>915810Pretty much. Only the mom is related though. She fooled around while the dad was out working on his business.
>>915810>>915813Sadly this quest isn't powered by shitposting, even if Wargle loves it himself.
>>915816Has Naruto taught us the Sexy no Jutsu yet?
>>915816What a waste. It's a renewable energy source.I guess powersperging is a decent substitute.
>>915819Nope, he might not even know it and we hardly know him. But without his parents dying he got a younger sister who is Tsuki's age anyways.>>915822I can get behind that.
>>915828A Naruto Quest without Sexy no Jutsu is a quest without life, guess I was right not to pick this up when it started.
>>915837Well then go ahead and leave. I for one am glad we're playing Tsuki quest, and not Naruto quest.
>>915841You just told me to leave? Well fuck, guess I'm gonna have to stick around even though I don't know jack about what we're doing.
>>915845I like this guy.
So which ninjas are the bad guys here?
>>915845Making ANBU great again using our special fire + lighting release and business. Also we have people fighting over summons between rabbits and 4 beast.>>915858Just skim the archive.
>>915862>special fire + lighting releaseA Spark Release?
>>915862Also by ANBU I obviously mean ROOT.
>>915866Basically blue plasma, but called "Stellar" shit is chakra napalm. Checking the pastebin and even looking at archive descriptions should give you an idea of what is happening.
>>915858>>915858Things are a bit different here, but many things are the same.Pedosnek is still a part of the Akatsuki, and Konoha just got anally ravaged by the Sand, the Sound, and the Akatsuki in the crush. The Akatsuki's more or less looking to be the main villains like in canon.
>>915870>StellarThat makes no sense, sparks cause fire and lightning produces sparks, it's the perfect name. Are we able to create stars? That'd be understandable if we could.
>>915877>The Akatsuki's more or less looking to be the main villains like in canon. Is the QM taking into account the movie villains?
>>915878We had a star and moons theme going given our name. It also shines super duper bright. This has all our jutsu names:http://pastebin.com/WiPdCqLH
>>915887Yes, but we are currently in a heavy recovery / ninja politicing time.
>>915895But how are they gonna finish that movie with shit like ninja trains gumming it all up?
Light is best.
>>915910Well yeah, it's hard to see otherwise.
>>915910Ninjas work in the shadows tho
>>915878A pretentious genin named it.
>>915926Damn, loads of questions. Somebody decide to deride me in the circlejerk general? No, neither Naruto nor hisnsister know the Sexy Jutsu. He created it as a prank to garner attention because >dead parentsSince his parents were not dead at our starting point, he would have no reason to create it.One of my biggest labors has been trying to introduce relevant movie characters and situations, including the spaceflea from nowhere end to the series, early enough that they don't feel alien. Success is debatable, of course, but that was the goal.As for name complaints, most techniques and the name itself were named by anons.
>>916001Are the knights of stone in this?
Did Nalt end up like Bort with his daddy issues?
>>916004Actually something we might delve into, if people decide it's worth it. Already laid the groundwork for that sideshow some many threads ago.
>>916010Bort's daddy issues were because Nardo couldn't into parenting. While Minato wasn't the greatest father ever, he was able to avoid being hated by his children.
>>916036Who is currently has the lead in the race for hokage?
>>916067No votes have been cast, and Yoru hasn't returned from the Capital yet.Our politiking has yet to be fully realized.
>>916075How much of a chance does the #freeneji movement have at wining the case?Is there even a #freenejj movement?
>>916075Since ROOT dissolved peacefully in this timeline, has that made Tsunade more open to the idea of working with them as compared to canon?
>>916098Most of her interaction with them, in canon and here, were before they were resolved. Tsunade is practical, if nothing else, but don't expect to give Danzo a free pass
>>916094Are you leading it? Naruto and Sai might if you don't, but he doesn't exactly have a team of passionate defenders.
>>916120Eh, I wish them luck on that. Tsuki on the other hand got more important things to do.
>>916120Then good luck to them. Tsuki already set it in motion. Now it's their turn.
>>916120We should go visit him and see what we can do for him legally. If nothing else, a fat stack of money can buy a damn good legal defender, and between that and the way he handled Kyuubi, there should be room for him to get off the charges, or at least have the punishment lessened considerably.
>>916120We could just give them some important information like how he helped with the nine tails but gathering support from the clans and reinstating ROOT is too important right now
By the way, is it still too early for you to tell us what that mystery 100 you rolled during the crush was?
>>916180Sounds good to me. I'd hate to see something bad happen to him even if we do have other stuff we have to deal with.
>>916203It will be revealed within the next few threads. Nothing bad, I assure you.
>>916203Which thread was this? I can't remember. What 100?
>>918590During the late part of the crush (somewhere around figuring out what to do with Kyuubi) Wargle rolled one of those dice for unspecified events elsewhere, and hit a 100. Cue the thread losing its shit and speculating about what it meant.
>>918605Hopefully it means Nori's dad isn't dead. I mean he might be and it'd be good for ROOT if he was but I still don't want her to lose her father and her mother.Maybe it was Garra managing to get away.
>>918608>Hopefully it means Nori's dad isn't dead.I'm not sure if you read the previous thread at all, since Wargle already said her dad went to the Capital the day after the Crush.
>>918612Nori's father is the Fourth. You're thinking of Yoru, Tsuki's father and head of the Norihime.
>>918612Where was that?I went through this thread and the past two.I cntl + f'd Hokage/Capital/Minato.I didn't see shit. So... I don't know what you're talking about.
>>918620#53, second post by wargle, search for "capital"
>>918656Yeah. None of that is about Minato. "So, the Fourth is still-”“Missing, yes. None of his guards have received any contact from him, and neither had Jiraiya. I suspect that part of his eagerness to set out in search of Tsunade was, in part, a hope to find Minato as well.” Danzo explains."He's wrong.
>>918665To clarify, Yoru (Tsuki's father, head of Norihimecorp) is fine, and went to the capital for supplies and workers for the reconstruction effort. This is who the anon was confusing with Nori's father.Minato, the Fourth (and Nori's father), vanished during the crush along with the Akatsuki member he was fighting, and has yet to be seen since.
>>918668Exactly. I said that I hope Nori's dad is alive. He was an uppty prick and said that I haven't read the previous thread.I gave him the benefit of the doubt and searched for it.I think he's confusing Nori with Norihime.
Should this quest get a discord? I've seen others use them for planning.
I'm strongly urging you guys to tell dad and Danzo about Kaguya and the bunnies. Lies are like a virus and an omission of fact is still a lie. Pic related found that out the hard way.
>>918736If we do join ROOT it will probably be important to tell them but if we don't have proof we just look insane
>>918676That just leads to circlejerking.
>>918742I was once prescribed an antidepressant called Venlafaxine and it caused me to have fucked up audio hallucinations. I thought I was developing schizophrenia and told my doctor, but he immediately told me to stop taking the drug and I stopped hallucinating. Telling caregivers about shit like this is what responsible, intelligent people do, and I think Tsuki would do it. I sincerely hope nothing like this ever happens to you because you apparently don't have the wherewithal to ask for help.
>>918742This is a world of bullshit ninja magic. Danzo probably noticed something during the fight with Gaara when we were bailed out.
>>918676And what of the anons that don't use the discord? Suddenly you have this divide where discord anons start shelling out plans and other anons are just confused.Keep plans in the thread so everyone can see and contribute.
>>918676I'm not really fond of discord for quests, I've only ever seen it encourage factionalism between the people who use it and the regular anons in the thread. And excessive factionalism is the cancer that can actually ruin quests when one side inevitably wins out over the other on a major choice.
Wargle is kill.
>>915022>Thread will resume either Friday or Saturday evening.Thread ded, QM ded.
>>926785The King is dead; Long live The King.
>>926785He was a good qm, and he will be missed.I will forever hold close to my heart the memory of forcing Sasori and Deidara to go through our bullshit deathtrap of a house.
