Welcome back to Adventure Civ!

Up to three players at a time will control a tribe through the years and decide its movements, cultural and technological advancements, diplomacy, crafting...

Four tribes have landed on the island: the farming Tie Tribe, the Sun Tribe fishermen, the Copper Tribe smiths and the Hunter/Gatherers of the Tree Tribe.

last actions:
Tie Tribe: >>72743
Copper Tribe: >>72705
Sun Tribe: >>72662
Tree Tribe:>>72691

How ya doin Opee?

Here's the map.

I'll need a bit of time to post the updates, so take this time for roll call!

4 slots per tribe, not 3.
>>
>>84743

Any new tribes opening soon?
>>
>>84764
probably never. It would only slow things down on my end.

fuck yes this is so cool to watch

just wondering if two tribes fought how would it work?

BOWTIES SIGNING IN
>>
Tree bros, I have an ambitious idea to please the tree spirits and improve our power.

We seek to further expand the forest by planting saplings near the forest edges and using our growing magic to spread the forest borders. We will be safe underneath the guidance of the tree spirits!

Whatdya think?
>>
>>84771

Alright, I'll look forward to the next game you host then. Hopefully its similar to this one.
>>
>>84784
Here!
>>
>>84793
Evening everyone so i had a epiney to stop our chieftess from killing everyone slowly: Make her raise a successor they don't have any automatic chiefship but she will train them to be like her
>>
Copper master race reporting.
>>
>>84806
That really does sound ambitious, maybe we can elevate some of the more obedient women to priestesses of the forest?
>>
>>84886
Oh boy.
So we just wanna jump into full monarchy? I'm game if you are.
But only if we make it to where the favored child of the cheiftess inherits, not just the oldest.
>>
>>84886
I wonder if she got powerful enough, she would have the ability to body surf via necromancy. Then she could "raise" a successor but really she's making a newer better vessel, and get stronger with each passing generation.
>>
>>84904
i mean like a successor that will rival her in power but they have to still be stronger than all other villagers
>>
>>84917
Reminds me of The Skeleton Key
>>
>>84743
This pic perfectly shows what happened last thread its beautifull.
>>
>>84925
Well we can't necessarily just know who's going to end out the strongest.
>>
>>84896
That could be possible, we have no priestly class at the moment in any case, and the obedient women could be good role models to future women to be faithful to their husbands, fathers, etc.
>>
>>84917
i don't think she could do that we have a fire affinity (which we haven't done anything with yet but that's annother subject)
>>
>>84784
We decided on what to do last thread right?
>>
So what's the gameplan for today?
>>
>>84952
Well she could if she studied in it long enough. I don't know if we wanna focus on it though.
>>
>>84988
Yes, it's this:
-Get more papyrus and papyrus based technologies
-Stare at the sun for inspiration on fire magic development
>>
>>85015
Anon don't forget to pick a name if your joining a tribe
>>
>>84862

>>
>>85005
Well, I think we submitted actions for this turn yesterday.

If so, then our next step is to actually develop blood magic. I think over the next few turns, we should also try to scout for some more resources we can use.
>>
Rolled 30 (1d100)

Tree tribe: scouting
0-15: hostile encounter
16-60: resources
61-90: ???
90-100: magical resource
>>
>>85030
So tired I forgot my trip. Hopefully got it right this time.
>>
>>85046
Got a spare space?
>>
>>85046
For tech I say we use the bows given to us by tree tribe ages ago in to crossbows we need proper range since our guys are shit with normal bows and these will be a bit stronger and easier to use.
>>
>>85052
Go have some sleep friend we'll see you next thread!
>>
Any room left in sun tribe?
>>
>>85078
We do, I believe

>>85081
That'd be an idea, spend some tech to develop crossbows. Might be harder than you think, though. I'd expect that to take a while
>>
>>85093
I think so yeah. Only got asshole and me right now
>>
>>85100
Don't really need other tech at the moment though unless we rush steel. Won't be as useful as fast as crossbows though.
>>
>>85050
OP OUR TECH IS POISON TIPPED ARROWS NOT THAT RETARDED WOMEN WARRIOR IDEA
>>
>>85100
Why does everyone want crossbows?
That's some really advanced stuff.
>>
>>85137
Eh eh eh
>>
>>85127
I am saying we are damn near prehistoric

Crossbows are a bit more advanced than that
>>
>>85100
>>85127

>>
>>85126
Pretty much
>>
>>85157
That is a valid point.

>>85012
You could always go the classical mad scientist dedicates their entire life to researching immortality, then uses said knowledge fuck-up everyone with raising the dead and forcing other tribes to fight their dead ancestors.
>>
>>85157
What tech would you suggest? Kinda out of ideas until we get more materials but were making magic right now.
>>
>>85201

turn 13 end!
The Sun tribe learned how to make paper out of papyrus. They weaved mats, hats, and shirts out of it. It's bulky but a lot more comfortable and light.

The shamans continued their sun communion, but now that most of them can't even get a sunburn, they feel they lost a bit of their edge and can't quite advance.
>>
>>85233
Eh
I don't really like magic or how OP people make it out to be.
>>
>>85238
That's why I say while we're researching blood magic, we do some scouting to see what else we can find
>>
>>85261
oh ok sorry senpai
>>
>>85268
But to do scouting we have to use our anything which is magic at the moment but we have to do tech every tur.
>>
>>85285

The Tree Tribe scouted the southern area. It's bushy, thorny and full of snakes, so they couldn't get far. They did snack on dry golden plants, and brought some back home to share.

They used the berries of unedible bushes to poison their arrows, just in case.
>>

>The Sun tribe learned how to make paper out of papyrus. They weaved mats, hats, and shirts out of it. It's bulky but a lot more comfortable and light.
Nice

> they feel they lost a bit of their edge and can't quite advance.
We should start thinking about something else than magic, maybe we maxed our magic skills.
Next we should think how to make glass and glass jewelry from glass+paint.
>>
Aight sunbros, what do we do now?
-Use spirit scout to find that one sea witch
-Try to use fire magic to develop glass
-Other
>>
>>85307
Turns are being shown.
Nuffin' much else.
>>
>>85260
Eh fuck we should probably leave magic for now, atleast not try to advance it for a while. We should use next turn to commune with the sea witch through a spirit
>>
>>85297
But isn't magic culture? Or can you also use tech for it?
>>
>>85316
are these from last thread?
>>
Alright tree boys, our edge with the other tribes is undoubtedly our food supply. Perhaps if we can focus our efforts here, we can explode our population, but only if we get the women thing resolved.
>>
>>85324
I think we can use tech. We are researching it. At the very least, we can ask Opee.
>>
>>85327
They're the decisions from last thread, but they're new turn outcomes.

We made nets and built a wall.
>>
File: red14.png (51 KB, 1509x725)

51 KB PNG
>>85301
The Wall was built around the village, made of brick and filled with dirt. The tribe feels safer from vermins and other sea demons, but they wish they didn't have to leave the walls to get water.

The guards started training with woven fabric nests the throw at their enemies. Though they tear easily, they manage to stop their opponents in their tracks long enough to go for a stab.
>>
>>85314
>>85311
Lets try and get glass through or fire magic. Then use spirit magic to commune with the sea bitch somehow. Best idea for now imo
>>
>>85345
Opee can you help ?
>>
>>85314
Maybe we should look into making something like a lantern or a candle in the future, so we we're not defenceles in the night?
>>
>>85341
What's the problem with our women?
>>
>>85371
So we still need glass for dat lantern. Or if everybody's a fire wizard we can jsut use fireballs for EVERYBODYYY

Anyway, we gotta learn how to advance our magic, currently both of our schools are dead ends
>>
>>85371
We do have people that can use fire in their hands as a light source
>>
>>85350
so this turn:wells?

The orange tribe men started planting their healing herbs on ground they till with basic hoes. The ashlands' ground is very fertile, and their yield is quite impressive for their little technology.

Some men of the Orange Tribe, frustrated to have tools inferior to the womens', decided to improve them by adding their blood during the smelting process, making them more hard of mind and also desirable.

turn 14 start! there is a global event next turn!
>>
>>85366
This
glass ---> glass jewelry, mirrrors and other fancy stuff.
Or focus on paper we can think about alphabet and basic mathematic.
>>
>>85384
>>85389
True

>>85410
this seems like the best idee
>>
>>85375
They are poorly treated and it might bite us if we treat them too terribly
>>
>>85375
Some people have more women than others, so we don't have full reproductive efficiency. At least that's what I think he's talking about.
>>
>>85408
AH YEAH MOTHERFUCKIN BLOOD SMITHING.
>>
>>85424
>>85410
>>85389
So we're all in agreement for this turn right?
-Use spirit scout to find that one sea witch
-Trade reeds for clay with bowtie
-Get more papyrus and papyrus based technologies
-Send over some sunbros to help Bowties with rats
-Try to use fire magic to develop glass
-Stare at the sun for inspiration on fire magic development
>>
>>85396
Sounds good.
I have this worry about a lack of food ever since the winter though. Maybe we should invent fishing boats this turn with our tech point?

Or let Cheiftess go full death magic, either one.
>>
>>85396

Make wells or pipes getting water directly to our city and our waste out
>>
>>85444
yeah make it a walled port town
and then we can use boats as transport to get to the sun people easier
>>
>>85446
I think transfer pipes are pretty advanced.
Aqueducts are a thing though.
>>
>>85442
Whoops, meant for only
-Use spirit scout to find that one sea witch
-Try to use fire magic to develop glass
>>
>>85458
Oh damn, and we can use nets to fish with! Hell yeah!
>>
>>85432
You would think men would trade the women if they really wanted them though. I wonder what we can do about that?

Also, shamelessly reverting to my idea of a silent archer class, separate from the hunting-with-boars class. The archers are silent because tongues are cut when young, so they can approach prey better and be sneaky when scouting dangerous areas.
>>
>>85433
Okay, based on this turn, we probably need a culture action to get to blood magic, so no using a tech.

I do want to use that though, so we've still got a tech action. Irrigation?
>>
>>85442
Ya though glass seems the preferred option. Sea bitch does also require our attention.
>>
wait we need wood to do that >>85485
>>
>>85494
Lets do that also hoping with the blood magic could get more connected with our smithing somehow.
>>
>>85497
And since we must have one culture action, what do we do?
>>
>>85260
>>85442
Maybe the problem with the advencing of fire magic is that our shamans cant advence both in spirit and in fire magic? maybe we could split our shamans into spirit users and fire users??
>>
>>85499
Well it's not like we're absolutely barren, we can still manage to get some even if we gotta walk a ways.

Not to mention even if that doesn't work people have been making hide and dense cloth boats since before recorded history.
>>
>>85345
you can't use tech for magic. It's either action or culture to research magic, and always action for magic practice.

recap anchor post
>>
>>85563
Tech: Irrigation

Culture: More elaborate blood rituals, to draw out the magic from our own bodies

FUCK THE GODS, WE'VE GOT OUR OWN MAGIC
>>
>>85492
Are you sure we can trust them though?
These people are the most rowdy regardless of gender, is giving them weapons a good idea?
>>
>>85525
>>85563

Lets go culture to investigate blood smithing magic.

Tech for irrigation?
>>
>>85499
so this turn more material scouting then for tech cement
>>
>>85600
Basically what I put, yeah

Any ideas for tech next turn? Since we have to take one
>>
>>85594
Next turn lets look for materials. Still voting on crossbows though because I feel we'd get wreaked at range.
>>
>>85540
I'd say we try talking with the sea witch, before we get worse than last time.
>>
>>85442
fine
>>
>>85624
I'd love crossbows, but I don't think you get how OP they are, dude
>>
>>85601
I still think we need a second food source though.
I'm worried, Guard.

Maybe we should scout for materials and put our tech into net fishing.
>>
>>85492
Well, it looks like the only way to come to a complete conclusion to this matter is to make our tribe mandatory gay. no homo
>>
>>85624
>>85646
>Crossbows
Nigger that's too advanced.
>>
>>85650
yeah lets do that ill make up a turn post now
>>
>>85492
Also no one has actually gotten their tongue cut out iirc.
>>
>>85596
I was thinking more like, every nth child would be selected at birth to become training as silent archers. Like an elite warrior class.

Anyways, if not that we can use our action to get a wheat farm growing, but we would need a clay oven and literally learn how to make fire. Burning wood is out of the question, so maybe try to find/import coal?

Also, priestesses as a cultural as treetard said(?)

C'mon treebros help me out here, Im spittin ideas.
>>
>>85676
'Kay.
>>
>>85671
That's what I said
>>
>>85627
And I think Scouting counts as an action, so what's our culture for this turn? Wrestle even more to make better guards so they dont get fucked by fishes? Train better fishermen to get more food? Promote population grwoth through orgy parties?
>>
>>85696
Mhmm! And you're right!
>>
>>85646
>>85671
If anyone we'd be able to get them because we can smith iron so they arn't shit and we have the fundamentals of how a bow works because have some.
>>
>>85714
But no fundamental on how moderate trigger mechanisms work or the intricacy of actually crafting hardened bolts over arrows.

This ain't no minecraft mods.
>>
>>85697
Population growth would not be that good since we only have fish and kelp as a food source. Maybe something leisure related to get some more jollyness in the tribe, though training the fishermen might be nice too
>>
Action: Material scouting
Tech:Net Fishing
>85563
>>
>>85690
Just came back from hunting with my pet boar.
We should probably work on our wheat and make it a renewable source of food.
>>
>>85563

>>
>>85779
Maybe make jewelry out of shells or something nice?
>>
>>85690
That sound OK but I don't think we should cut their tongues, since there is already a stigma against that. As far as military units go, we can still try researching riding the pigs, giving us cavalry.

>>85784
check that out.
>>
>>85811
we could do that next turn sure but if it fails its not my fault
>>
>>85802
Tbh cutting their tongues out is just an extreme form of keeping quiet, any experienced hunter knows how to keep quiet even with a tongue.
>>
>>85779
New idea for culture. Set up some sort of school where we teach our tribepeople about the different paths of magic. Some shamans of all groups (possession, fire, general shamans using spirit magic) teach the others.
The people that go through this school specialise in one tree so we might get better fire users and stronger people at spirit magic etc.
>>
>>85802
>>85743
Boar cavalry sounds like a good idea, but do we know if boar size makes them ridable yet? Also, I think our action should be to start growing wheat, but after we make a designated area for it.
>>
>>85836
We're already fishing on the shore anyway.
Boats just make it better.
>>
>>85853
To further upgrade this idea we could use the turn after this turn to culture into simple written language for schoolbooks etc
>>
>>85779
Why not try and progress with the glass making?

That way we can progress with our sunbathing by making a magnifying glass den for the shamans?

No idea about culture though
Maybe make a pokemon battle shaman tournament?
>>
>>85714
I see the whole crossbow thing, definitely too advanced. (we'd also need rope)

Lets scout for resources.
>>
Rolled 2 (1d2)

>>85801
>>85853
Right, so which one? I'm just gonna roll
>>
>>85860
This just occurred to me and it might be a long shot:
>Infuse wheat with Accelerated Growth
>Give wheat to boars
>Boars are now the size of horses
>???
>Profit
>>
>>85930
Shaman's idea sound better
>>
>>85904
We're gonna, but we also need to take a tech action every turn
>>
>>85904
Trees don't have rope yet their making bows. Hence the strings we use could be thin strands of copper while the frame is reinforced with iron so it won't snap apart.
>>
>>85942
Nice Name
>>
>>85932
are you gonna be hostile to us if we meet? just asking because we want some wheat too
>>
>>85942
Right, so we're:
- Using spirit scout to commune with Sea bit-I mean--Witch
- Establish some sort of school where we teach our tribepeople about the different paths of magic
>>
>>85932
Dude great idea, if we cant process the grains yet, we can feed them to the boars!
>>
>>85965
Well if you mean us no harm, we haven't declared war yet :3
>>
>>85943
Did we get irrigation? If so then maybe improve our settlements.
>>
>>85971
well I'm gonna go ahead and update the tribes that are ready
doesn't sound like you'll interact much anyway
>>
>>85966
I agree with this. But the others'll have to agree too!
>>
>>85995
Were gonna get it but to improve the settlement we need to use our action when we are about to scout for better materials.
>>
>>85952
It requires intricate mechanisms that just aren't possible at this tech level. We don't even have molds yet, we just hit the metal into rough shapes.

>>85995
There's an idea. I think our homes now are just piles of rocks.

turn 14 end!
The Tree Tribe started exploiting the wheat to feed their pigs. The task was given to women.
However, though they didn't complain, the women couldn't achieve anything without earth magic. The council decided to allow the most proficient women to learn the secrets of magic, and make them Boar Spirit Priestesses. Though it changes nothing to the balance of power between genders, the women's world becomes more varied.

The farmers of the orange tribe have few means of carrying water to the plantations, and it rains very little in the area. So they carefully diverted some of the river water into the plantations, increasing their yield and survivability.

One day a particularly scarred young man gave his latest piece of pain, an iron lump, to a smith. Trying to capture his attention, the young smith put a lot of effort into the blade, trying to make it the sharpest of all. She hurt her finger bad in the process - and the blade reacted, burning with a dark fire at the contact!

blood magic learned: Felfire! sprouts from blood, and burns with unholy power anything that isn't part of its blood composition. Must be ignited with a virgin's blood.

>>86344

The guard scouts ran to the hills looking for resources, but went too close to the rat den, and were attacked by treecutting rats!
Fortunately, they prevailed, and managed to come back home safely, if empty handed.

A well has been dug at the center of the village. It's not that deep and freezes in winter, but they'd need tool to make a proper one.
>>
>>86673
Clay spades. Let's dig wells and trenches.
>>
>>86637
I say we make use of the tree tribe women. Set them up to teach our children the knowledge of their tribe. It will give them a place in our tribe. I want these women to be happy god dammit.
>>
>>86673
ok lets try maternal scouting again and for tech
maybe like cloth boats like you said chief
>>

Treecutting Rats?

They are already happier than they were. But yeah, we can use our tech to have them teach about tree tribe shit like animal domestication
>>

Thank you.
Also maybe we should kill or catch them rats sometime.
>>
>>86728
as i said i'm not a smart man

The shamans, with now too much time on their hands, decided to teach anyone about magic and its ways. Though the average joe won't be able to make anything of it, there's always one or two receptive weavers that'll end up capable of using the first levels of magic.

The shamans went looking for the Sea Witch, in hopes she'll help with the fishman problem. The spirits got lost on the way, but were lured by something, until they finally met the witch.
The witch was amused by the shaman's plea and accepted to help if the Sun Tribe sent a Shaman to be her apprentice.
The shamans had many questions, but their connection with the spirits was cut by a soft "shush".

turn 15 will start after the global event!

>>86644
>as long as women are traded, all pop bonuses of the tree tribe will be given to the orange tribe
>>
>>86772
Yeah but we get attacked by rats every time we go outside anyway. It's happened like three times.
>>
>>86772

>>86728
>>
>>86784
Guys, this smells...fishy
>>
>>86801
>>86740
so anyway lets go to the rat warren kill them all then we can tech better houses
>>
>>86784
I say send a shaman over, but give them lots of food incase she's hungry. problem is, how do we sent a shaman over?
>>
>>86825
>>86801

'Kay.
We need to tech something this turn too.
Opee said we can't use tech on magic.

Also the event is coming up so let's see how that effects our decisions.
>>
>>86819
Yeah...

>>86845
We can make a boat from papyrus.
>>
>>86845
I dunno, get one on a boat or raft, or our equivalent of a sea vessel and send him out to sea and have him shout "ey bby u wan sum sun"
>>
>>86732
>>86722
I'd say setting up a school is a cultural thing rather than tech, but I'm all for it.

And the action? I vote scout for new resources.
>>
>>86819
Fiiiiiish magic fiiiiiiish magic
>>
>>86862
opee
would we already know how to make boats since i imagine thats how we got to the island?
>>
>>86892
But fish magic means the deep, and the deep is dark.
>>
>>86879
Well yeah, we're way overdue to scout for resources, we really need new shit

But there's still the matter of our tech action
>>
So scouting and what else?
>>
I suppose we should put some use to the copper we get from orange tribe. Any suggestions treebros?
>>
>>86915
Steel perhaps? Or molds for tools?
>>
>>86915
Ok tech can be better infrastructure. Learn how to improve our settlement.
>>
>>86942
You need coal to make steel.
>>
>>86895
What if she is cursed and she must to "change" body to be free?

Or just want to bath in blood of our shaman.
>>
>>86942
I think steel is a little advanced right now.
>>
Hey tree tribe, should we stop trading women to copper for now? I know the spirits said don't trade anything from the forest, but could we trade bows instead? Are those even considered "from the forest"?
>>
>>86957
What if she just wants to turn us into mermaids
>>
>>86942
We need coal for steel, and something to make molds out of, like the ties have clay, that's why we need to scout so bad

>>86945
This could work. Research better houses than "pile of rocks"
>>
>>86957
One person as sacrifice for the rest of the tribe is pretty good though.
>>
>>86924
What is actually at the end of our arrows?

>>86982
Spirits say bows are a nono
>>
>>86982
That's the only thing you traded us before, and they told you to stop, so I presume yes

How about the turn after this one, we cut off the deal?
>>
>>87002
THing is we don't know what's the rest of her plan is. We sacrifice one guy and she uses him for some nefarious purpose that may kill the fishmen but may also fuck us over in the long run

Event: Billy the magus!

A strange, pint-sized character came to each tribe with the same speech:

"I am Billy the Magus! Nobody on the island has a greater knowledge than I! By the way, did you know the elves call this island "Eille"? It means "island" in their tongue! fascinating."

"But anyway! I must leave this island soon. I know a spell to do just that! but I'd need virgin blood to do so. Lot of the stuff. So, how about you guys lend me a hand? I'll repay you by giving you a free tech or magic of your choice! Tell you what: if all of you tribes people give me a virgin, I'll throw in some extra info you might like."

Though Billy can give you high level technology, it might still take some time and techs for the tribespeople to make sense of the most complex ones.

turn 15 start!
>>
>>87002
I bet it's the sea demon's mom.
Like a Beowulf and Grendel sorta deal.
Watch out.
>>
Lets research how to carve and chisel stone to make houses out of.
>>
>>86924
We could always make daggers.
>>
>>87031
Is the chieftess a virgin, per chance?
>>
>>87031
I bet those tree spirits are elves
>>
>>87037
You're just jalous of seawaifu
>>
>>87003
Lol good point. Do you think we can be self sufficient in that regards though? I want to trade for clay bricks and have an oven for bread, that would be a huge pop bonus
>>
>>87031
All tribes, are we doing this shit or naw? If we aren't all putting in, I'm passing.
>>
>>87031
Let's sacrifice a virgin man instead of a woman
>>
>>87066
Nooo
Nooo nooo
Noooooo

>>87072
But Rat Waifu
>>
should we give him the blood?
>>
>>87046
Yes, perfect!
>>87031
I say yes. But if we have any criminals who are virgins then they're going first.
>>
>>87087
I hope thats allowed lol.
>>
>>87082
How come? We are aspiring blood mages.
>>
>>87088
>>87089

Drain some virgin off her blood, then burn the drained body for the gods. In fact, we should start buerning the bodies of all our deceased, cultural thing. I mean, it makes sense, kind of.
>>
I dont even know if we ahve any virgins
>>
>>87119
I want that sweet extra info, and if we all chip in, it's only one person per tribe
>>
>>87141
We have children, right?
>>
>>87126

>>
>>87175
See ya Opee

>>87179
>>87167
I bet the cheitress would want death magic.
>>
>>87179
i think we should do a culture point : all dead bodies are burned as offerings to the gods and the ashes are kept in a huge fire at all times
>>
>>87116
It's not like he specified women. Still, I think we should give whoever we choose a party before sending them off.
>>
Its either tech or magic boys. Imma make a list of all possible things, we got a lot of brainstorming to do before OP comes back.
>>87166
>>87087
>>
>>87202
I think we should start geting fire magic. It certainly would serve us better.
Priests learn fire magic, chieftess learns death magic. We can use fire magic to defend ourselves or attack the rats later on. Reminder we don't have bows or any other method of long range attack other than throwing and wasting spears.
Fire could also be useful to aid us in metal working, and medicine. Cauterisation.
>>
NIGHT
>>
>>87264
We can't focus on fire and death at the same time, it'll take absolutely forever.
>>
>>87216
We haven't done cultural stuff in a long time, and ashes can be used as a amterial, too. We should definetly do this.
>>
>>87216
>>87302
We can use ash as fertilizer and lye.
We can be the clean tribe.

>>87247
Wanna try picture format like Sun tribe? That was actually very well done, forgot to mention.

Nah, sun bros are cool.
The only issue is that magic is a culture action, not a tech action.

>>
>>87323
>homo
There's is nothing gay about wanting to better your own body with your fellow man under the scorching sun, with its rays shining on your glistening bodies
>>
>>87350
Well then maybe we should ask him for death magic since it's not our affinity and use this turn's culture to dig into fire magic.

That way we still have a free tech to use on whatever we want and everyone at least gets something that they'd like.

Thought we had a group pic already

Anyways, heres some overall goals I want to address in the future:
> 1. Favor from the tree spirits. We've pissed them off in the past (quite a bit) so we need to do something spectacular to get that sweet tree magic
> 2. Women control. The priestess class is a good way to manage them so far, so all we really need to do is ensure that they don't have any major reason to throw a fit
> 3. Food trade. We may not have fancy metals or magics, but we got a shitton of food, and we should take advantage of it! We cannot train for magic, so the best bet is look for things to trade that do not grow in the forest, like with copper.

Other than that, I'd probably say continue to build an army and explore new plants like we've been doing. If we can maintain large numbers of people and resources, we should be good.
>>
>>87141
>>87156
We need thermonuclear technology, or sun powered laser guns :^)
>>
>>87446
Dissecting bodies, Renaiscance time a la da Vinci. Then we burn them.
We should be able to get all this in motion in one turn, just specify draining the virgin first: We drain the virgin, dissect the body and then burn it and gather the ashes. Thus the body burning and dissection tradition commences.
>>
>>87483
Actually, add blood draining the the whole ritual, we can surely find a use for that.
>>
>>87483
Noice.
You wanna write up the turn report or should I?
Also we can put blood in clay pots, so we don't gotta give him a fresh virgin right then and there. Yay!
>>
>>87467
Would the sun be okay with sacrificing children though, needs to stare at it some more
>>
>>87503
I dunno, maybe drink it.
I'm sure Cheiftess will wanna play with it.
>>
>>87506
Write it up, sounds good.
>>
>>87508
why kids?
we have some virgins yeah?
>I'd need virgin blood to do so.
He want just a little bit of blood.
>>
>>87363
>>87156
>>86862

so for our troubles since last turn we could do this:

- since we asked the sea witch for help it would be rude and unwise to neglect her offer and not accept it. yeah she might do something bad, but thus far she's been killing sea people, hasn't attacked us and she's been generally "nice"
- as for billy the magus, we should offer a virgin, we can use it to get some really good new tech, or use it to get better magic, we haven't been getting better magic for a while, but we should be able to understand it better. (imagine level 4 spirit magic)

If billy the magus doesn't count as an action we should still be able to finally tech into glassmaking.
And use the culture action as sending a shaman towards the sea witch
>>
Is the virgin sacrificing independent from our turn actions?
>>
>>87508
Billy didnt say it had to be a person. we could try sending a virgin battle crab

Bowtie Tribe got our turn

>Event
Bleed a virgin dry into a few pots and give them to Magus. Ask for The Cheiftess's Death magic.

>Tech
Dissect that bled body to learn some about anatomy. We getting back into medicine.

>Culture
Burn the body and let's study some fire magic out of it.

Also ask magus if the rats are sentient. We kinda wanna know.
>>
>>87192
Ah dicks, linked to the wrong post.

Our turn is this: >>87614
>>
I say sunbro's

We gotta make glass asap, then we can finally get sunburnt

Think of all the sad shamans who are no longed getting sun burnt
>>
>>87660
Truly a sad sight, we should use fire magic on sand to make glass
>>
>>87660
I wonder if different colored light is different colored passions.

Like what if a shaman bathed under red glass to meditate on war, or under a blue light to look for magic.
>>
>>87660
yes I agree, we should finally make the dream come true. we've been stalling the glass for too long.

so:

>event
still unclear yes or no? i'd say give him the virgin
>tech
use fire and sand to make glass
>culture
also still unclear, I'd suggest sending a young shaman apprentice over to the sea witch to be polite and also to help us against the fishpeople.
>>
>>87700
6 colours, one for every day of the week
and 1 day where we bask in the purity of the sun
>>
>>87709
For the virgin just use that one 30 year old guy who never managed to get laid despite our constant parties
>>

as for the thing we ask of billy, I'd love to upgrade our spirit magic. but something tech related might be very good too, you guys got any ideas?
>>
>>87465
Couldn't we just hold some sort of festival in celebration of the spirits. We can provide offerings, and plant new trees to try and please them
>>
>>87773
But that's what we all do everyday at 6
>>
>>87552
Do you have any suggestions about magus or do we ask for engineering like i suggested?
>>
>>87828
Engineering sounds good, gives us something to work toward with all the tech actions that we have to use anyway

I still want to know if it takes up one of our actions, though
>>
>>87792
If we get some other type, it'll be level one and pretty shit.
Earth magic is the way to go for the tree tribe I think.

>>87797
We tried planting trees to make better huts but the spirits didn't react.
Maybe we should try to communicate with them and ask them what they can teach us and if they can't, then ask them what to do so we have enough intellect to learn.
>>
>>87886
If it doesn't it'd be amazing as we'd accomplish so much in one turn.
>>
>>87894
Well we are going to have to learn some way of communicating with them without going over to where they are without an invitation. How we do that, I have no clue.
>>
>>87894
I agree, earth magic will help us better communicate with the spirits and help us understand what they want from us/us to do
>>
>>87934
Maybe with could communicate through the roots of the trees, or create some method of long distance communication with them.
>>
Could we use some spirit magic to talk to tree spirits maybe?
>>
>>87934
>>87950
Another type of priest? An oracle?
But that can easily be become corrupted.

>>87974
You're onto something, some sort of tech action that allows us to communicate with spirits maybe.
>>
>>87988
The only magic we have is Accelerated Growth.
The spirits have been silent for a while, they need to make their return next round.
>>
>>87709
>>87802
>>87773

So we decided on dumping steve off at the magus for some free stuff. what do we want though?

so far we've got:
>event
we give the magus steve our 30 year old virgin, we ask of him the art of: ...?
>tech
with fire and sand we make glass
>culture
we send a young shaman off to sea, with him we give dried fish, lots of kelp, and some papyrus. his quest is to help the sea witch as her new apprentice.

so we still need something to decide on what we ask for of the magus.
>>
>>87988
There might be some kind of plant the spirits made that helps us talk to the spirits, perhaps we could send out an expedition unit to find it.

>>87993
We could train some animals to deliver messages for us, like how carrier pigeons were used
>>
>>88040
I vote Spirit Magic
>>
>>88040
Rocket science, or the ability to fly
>>
>>88040
Tech - making of "fire staffs" So everyone (even dumb) from sun tribe after short training can use fireball spell
i'm on Phone.
>>
>>88047
Not sure if plant even exists, could be a lost cause.

Could use the rabbits, they're fast and natural so good chance of communicating if we point them in the right direction.
>>
>>88055
let's go with level 4 spirit magic, even if it is sort of incomprehensible we still have insight in how to get there.

so then we've got our turn ready? I'll link it to opee in my next post.
>>
>>88094
you mean torches? you've got some point though. since we're still afraid of the dark having a way for everyone to make light is really good, it also works as some sort of defensive mechanism.
but I'm still on the fence. getting level 4 spirit magic might be out of our hands if we don't try to get it from the magus.
>>
>>88106
Or culture bonus - magic in blood - every member of sun tribe can use 2 Levels of sun and fire magic.
>>
>>88156
how does that work exactly? I don't quite understand.
>>
>>88096
Rabbits sound good, but aren't they a source of food? Also, I'm not entirely sure where the tree spirits are, are they on the ground, or high in the trees, or both?
>>
So will our actions be researching carving and chiseling for building material and give a virgin to magus for engineering ?
>>
>>88156
I don't think we can choose a culture bonus for ourselves. More like choose a culture action then Opee decides if it grans a bonus or not
>>
>>88197
Tech will be stoneworking, yeah

Depending on if Magus takes an action, it will either be that or scouting
>>
>>88187
Actually we could try just knocking on the trees to see if anyone's home.
That's where the spirits live.
But when we went scouting, there was this sacred place that the spirits told us not to go unless invited.
>>
>>88221
If you guys took the magus bonus in spirit magic, you could contact the forest spirits real easily
>>
>>88199
Oh So choose 4 lvl of spirit magic.

>>88180
Now even after training in school only few citizens can use magic and only 1lvl spells.
>>
>>88211
I mean engineering is to good to pass up because it'll be usefull till the modern age. If it taes a action we should still do it as we will already understand how build things such as triggers, pulleys , vehicles, it would just be a matter of building said things.
>>
>>88236
That was our plan, but we're thinking further ahead.
Like how to get lvl 3-5 and knowing exactly what to do.
>>
>>88241
>>88199
so everyone is agreed on level 4 spirit magic then?
>>
>>88293
Yes
>>
>>88293
ye
>>
>>88280
Do we have music? The spirits might become pleased with us if we create music dedicated to them.

If trees host the spirits, why not enshrine trees? Have every man, woman, and child have a tree they look after, like a companion for their life. Children plant a tree and raise it concurrently with their age. We won't use magic on these trees, its gotta be all natural.

Its like a soulmate, but with bark. Call it a barkmate.

Hopefully got the trip right this time.

That was good going sunbois, everything is smooth except for what the seawitch might do. Every advance we have in magic brings us closer to the Sun, and perhaps one day we could match its glory.

Personally our endgame could either be send our people into the sun or have each and everyone one of us become a mini sun. Or both.

turn 15 end!
Billy came to each village to collect virgin blood and, as promised, teach the villagers a thing or two.

Sun tribe
"Thanks for the fatty! So you want to go further in your spirit magic, hm? You're already pretty good! but I understand! why stop here? All right! here's how you call a Wraith! but careful around the guy, alright! they don't screw around!"

though the shamans don't have what it takes to summon a Wraith, they can summon some if they focus their efforts together for a time.

Bowtie Tribe
"Oh, thanks! that saves me some bothersome work! Hm, you want to all learn death magic? Well! I can't promise you'll all manage, but sure! Tell you what, I'll even teach you how to raise a skeleton! it'll take a while, but you'll see, they're real practical."

Same as the sun tribe, the Chieftess needs to focus efforts with other wizards to succesfully conduct the ritual, and she's the only wizard for now.

Tree Tribe
"That's a tall one! You too want magic? Man, all you tribals are lucky I came around, huh! Sure! That's how you do a bark armor! you'll need to hug a tree for it to work, but that won't change your routine much, right?"

The spirit archers are capable of that level of magic.

Orange Tribe
"Aw, what a shame, such a pretty gal! You're of mixed blood, aintcha? Don't worry! you'll do just fine! Oh, you guys want to learn how to make complicated contraptions? Alright! here are some engineering plans with nice images! Even a child could understand it!'

The parchments are full of values and schematics for gears, wheels, and other important engineering principles, But this is still too far ahead to make any sense of it. It'll greatly help in the future, though.

"Thank you all! As a parting gift, I, Billy the Magus, will tell you why I leave! This island will sink soon! bye!"

And Billy was gone, never to be seen again.

The Sun Tribe decided to send a promising apprentice in the sea. After swimming for a few seconds, the youngling started wondering what the hell he was supposed to do to get down there. Fortunately, something snatched his leg, and he was gone.

Burning sand out of extreme boredom, the shamans discovered green glass. It's pretty and easy to mold in their fiery hands!
>>
>>96133
Lets ALL not become the sea witch's apprentice
>>
>>96133
Oh sweet, glass
>>
>>96088
Now we really need to teach the priests some magics. Also, do something about the flood, but whatever.
>>
With this new development, I think we now know what we must do to get new technology. Use fire on everything out of boredom until something comes out.

The Tree Council of Wise Bowmen and Spirit Sages decided after a long and thought-out debate that the best way to communicate with the spirits would be to send fat bunnies to them. They taught the bunnies to go to the general direction of the spirits' grove, and after numerous attempts foiled by hungry wolves, realized they had no way to convey a message nor receive one with these bunnies. It was very awkward and everyone agreed not to talk about it again.

On the plus side, scouts discovered beautiful cliffs of white stone near the village, and thought they could be interesting. Gypsum found!
>>
>>96133
>pretty
How do they know this? I thought the shamans were all blind
>>
>>96167
well wanna make the city flouting so we can just sail to another island
>>
Alright i say as a action have the people stockpile huge amounts of resources in preparations for the boats. For tech have some people study the blueprints.
>>
>>96169
I still suggest we go towards the volcano out of boredom and study the lava there.

also because of the flooding we should probably make some houseboats out of papyrus.
we don't have to put them into the ocean yet but atleast once the sea level does rise we'll be able to live on them and eat fish for the rest of our lives.
>>
>>96186
Pretty according to the other tribesmen who saw their work. They'd just have to take their word for it.
>>
>>96187

The Orange tribe started cutting nearby stones to make sturdier houses that also keep in more heat.

but most importantly the men struck gold! the women are going crazy over the minerals, and women who get gold from their husbands won't share. Wives of farmers still wear only copper and feel left out.
>>
>>96197
nah i wanna go to a new island and maybe be a part of the next game
>>
>>96190
We don't even have food preservation. We shouldn't waste our turns. We need to do some more advancing. I say we work our way toward boats. Maybe paddleboats.
>>
>>96191
Well that works. But will that be enough to defend against the flood? And who knows if it'll be a flood? Maybe the volcano will erupt and destroy the island instead. And how would this flood come? If it's massive rain then maybe that's survivable, but if it comes in the form of a tsunami, with us being a coastal village...eh...
>>
>>96191
we could try mind controlling some larger sea animals and use them to pull our ships
>>
>>96217
Becoming Atlantis sounds much more radical than cowaring away from some water.
>>
>>96212
OH SHIT NIGGA WE GOT BLING
>>
>>96178
Welp, I fucked up a little bit.
>Time to make that bark armour.
>>
>>96219
Yes exactly by studying the blueprints we could get an idea about a type of mechanized boat. I included the resources as it'll be very expensive to make enough boats to hold the whole tribe. Then we can try fishing or food preservation. next turn.

Under the priests' holy scrutiny, the blood sacrifice is cautiously prepared, then dissected by a former doctor out of retirement. They learned much about the human anatomy before burning the body to the gods.

The gods answered to a priest, who started babbling and spewing before jumping into the fire, only to come out ablaze, unharmed, reborn. fire magic learned!

turn 16 start!
>>
>>96220
true, maybe we should try working with the bowtie tribe on this?
i suggest we should make the papyrus boats a thing it gives the people some sort of safe feeling.

>>96262
we could make the boats a safety law. which would make it a culture action?

>>
>>96270
How would we get the town to float? That sounds insane. We should build a dome over our walls.
>>
>>96275
Depends, have we developed boats as a regular tech yet.
>>
>>96262
We could have a bunch of shamans try to summon a wraight, or we could have a bunch of them consentrate together on inproving our fire magic?
>>
>>96241
I imagine we'll be spending a tech action studying what we can from the blueprints just about every turn from now on.

What about our other action?
>>
>>96286
What's a wraith gonna do to help an entire tribe against a sinking island. I mean I could be useful during an attack, from say, demon fishmen, as I'm hoping it would have good combat capbilities, but currently not really
>>
>>96281
our wall are made from brick and dirt witch will break our best bet is to work with sun to make a ark for both of our people
>>
>>96303
If they accept that.
>>
>>96285
Don't think we do, maybe tech the boats, culture into using them? atleast we've got some safety net before everything goes awry.
>>
Also, assuming >>96242 means priests get fire magic, so Chieftess no longer the only wizard? Should we turn our dead men winto skeletons or what?
>>
>>96294
Send people over to tree tribe to ask if they want to make a joint effort to not drown when the island sinks?
>>
>>96317
Should probably use our Tech action to develop boats and this turn culture to teach everyobody how to swim and hold their breath real good, ya know, for precaution
>>
>>96317
Maybe culture to improve our fishermen, if we're gonna be living on the sea for a while
>>
>>96303
>If they accept that
they want our help and are cool with us
>>
>>96325
Isn't she the only Death Wizard while everyone else' Fire Wizards
>>
>>96342
If that makes a diference, that could be a problem.
>>
>>96326
We don't need to waste an action to do that when we don't even know exactly what we'd do. We have a limited number of actions.
>>
>>96327
That's a better idea. we can work together with the tie tribe too, they've got fabric, clay pots, fishing nets etc. we'd be able to make better boats.
but first thing should obviously be saving ourselves.
I agree that this is what we should be doing for this turn.
then we've probably got some turns until the global event in which we can do some resource scouting or eventually work with the tietribe.
>>
>>96336
Have we made boats yet? I'm guessing we have until turn 18 to do this.
>>
what about we work together to make boats
>>
>>96359
Right, so other sun bros. We try to develop basic boats with what we have and teach our people to swim and hold their breath good this turn?
>>
>>96391
yeah
>>
>>96357
I mean it like this the person sent is the middle man, we both devolop the necessary tech they can provide wood while we can improve on their base designs of boats with our schematics. It would be like a trade agreement where he's there to keep it organized
>>
>>96376
I do think we might have a better way of surviving this together. but we (sunbros) should use our second action into discovering boats for now. you guys could also use your action to come with a proposal for working together.
>>96391
yes make our houses on a boat, we still keep them on the land for now but they are seaworthy.
>>
>>96374
no we haven't we make them this turn?
>>
>>96399
They can't provide enough wood, their forest spirits would get pissed at chopping all the trees down.
>>
>>96399
Once it's set though both tribe's escape on the boats created through the alliance.
>>
>>96406
I think both tribes should try to make boats first, then help eachother to create a new type of better boat by combining designs
>>
>>96406
i think its a culture from both of us to work together
>>
>>96409
Make boats and scout?

That's why I wasn't too hyped about getting it. Nobody's going to bother trading for it, and its actual useful applications are far away from our tech level.

Culture:
>Every man woman and child is given a tree to plant, it grows as they grow and they share a special bond with it.
>In the future at the age of around 5, that is when the child is given the sapling to plant. Everyone is given a plant at this point though.

Action:
>Send 3 brave and capable scouts to the top of the volcano and scavenge, also make them report back anything they see.

Hopefully this won't fuck up like last time.

Was also thinking this:
>Go to the sacred tree spirit place and inform the spirits of the island's demise. >Offer them the medicinal herbs from the Copper tribe and the Gypsum we found and see what they do.

Agree?

turn 16 end!
After Billy's warning, the people of the sun started hosting breath holding and swimming contests in their holy day.

They also tried building a house made of two tight-woven roofs, and managed bubble floathouses! Though they are rather small and can't house more than three, they can float on water!

The Tree tribe went looking for resources at the volcano peak, but they found out it is a hostile land, full of winged fire-breathing lizards! They were too many and the archers got overwhelmed. But some managed to make the trip home with the body of one of the lizards.

The children now plant a sapling when they are five, and are expected to care for it and the spirit it contains. It deepens their communion with the powers of the forest.

>>
>>102625
i would suggest we use our culture to trade with the bowties, and an action for scouting.
>>
Perhaps we could try making a boat prototype? Have the people make it out of wood then reinforced with iron or copper?
>>
Sunbros, I propose working together with the bowtie tribe, with them we can upgrade our boats and have a more diverse food supply.
in return we can make some boats for them tooIand we all profit. and communicating and working together would count as a culture action which would leave us with a free action. we could use that to scout for another edible food resource.
>>
>>102689
>>102682
I'm up for working together!
I'm sure the rest of the ties are too.
>>
>>102669
so lets do one tech one action
tech:use wood on trees to make real boats
action use help from sun people to upgrade our and their designs
>>
>>102694
have you seen my tech tree idea with the apple tree we found
>>102669
>>
>>102712
Yup!
I think we could certainly do it.
Inventing pickling/jarring would be a massive boost as well.
>>
>>102720
so like
tech:Vinegar
action trade ideas with sun people to make better boats
>>
>>102677
thanks for the update opee, see ya later

>>102694
>>102697
would require a culture action but we both use it to help eachother on boats then?
don't forget to bring those pots for storage and food etc.
we can make more boats with added fabric for sail.
>>
>>102724
i think it cost one action to start the link then its free to trade ideas
>>
>>102735
Would it require an action if both our tribes start working together?
I'd see it more as a culture action but it's not really clear.

>>102677
what kind of action would it require for us to work together with the other tribe? a normal action or a culture action?
>>
>>102747
i think its the same as a regular trade just ideas not items
>>
>>102754
then let's regard it as an action for now I guess.

@sunbros what should we do as culture for this turn?
>>
>>102764
lets trade the turn after this one so we can upgrade and make shit eg sails then trade them for boats
>>
>>102777
alright, so one more turn for self improvement then start working together on the boats/rescue plan

sunbros. let's use our action to scout with our battle shamans for food. then we still need our culture action.
we could use our culture to learn more about how to use the bubbleboats.
>>
>>102777
I don't think we can make sails without boats to test them with.
>>
>>102807
what about we use the apple trees for wood to make boats!
>>
>>102668
So what can we do about the boats, any ideas guys?
>>
>>102832
Sure, why not. I mean we gotta turn them into planks first though.
Apple trees don't grow big enough for canoes.

>>102852
Melt metal over a boulder, then pop it off and flip it over. Metal boat.
>>
>>102859

>>
>>102747
Guys, we have giant crabs right now...
What about dragons ? :D
>>
>>102875
where do we get dragons from lol
>>
>>102852
Our only choice is to get some other material like wood. If we can't get it from the tree tribe (which is likely to be the case) we'll have to keep scouting until we do. Boats aren't getting made out of rock, and unless we can miraculously read the secrets of buoyancy off the schematics, we're not likely to make metal ships either.
>>
>>102875
we could send our battle shamans towards the volcano in search for food supplies.
half of the group takes crabs with them, the other half does not, if they encounter animals they can possess them.
for the our culture action I still suggest making our tribe learn how to move the boats or control them better.
>>
>>102936
Still perhaps we could have people research using minature metal ships so they can find a design that will float the best as all have to work with is metal and the trees forest has angry spirits we'd have to deal with.
>>
Ayy what did I miss
>>
>>103064
we made boats. orange and tree have had bad rolls.
we're not trading with bowties this turn but next turn.
we're deciding on what to do this turn.
>>102944
>>
>>103105
I rike it
>>
We can try this, we have people experiment with small minatures that come comeplete with the rooms needed to survive like storage etc. Afterwards we make full scale versions of the best design as a double tech action.
>>
>>103125
shall we make this our turn then?
and obviously hope for a good roll for once
>>
>>103254
Yes. You got my vote
>>
>>102677
>>102944

>Action
scout towards the volcano, we send the battle shamans, half of them takes their crabs, half of them don't
we're looking for food sources. and if we find animals that look good we possess them.
>Culture
We try to learn how to use our new bubbleboats effectively.

One tribe decided on retreating and doing some sneaky shit and then the other 2 decided negotiations where over and to start an agreement to fight the retreating tribe, all before the turn actually happened and they had any way of knowing anything

Options:
> giant tree ark. Dig hole as deep as boat can carry our tribe, then grow saplings with accelerated growth. Do proper ceremonies then shave out the tree to be a boat. Can use copper as plating on the front.
> Use accelerated growth to make woody platform high in the sky. Keep packing dirt on top and grow more trees. We now have a platform to be dry when the flood comes.

>>
>>107353

Should we try to scout again? Or do you want to double on tech for something?
>>
>>107399
