"Wait Papa, please don't-"The crashing of the door between us is loud enough to leave the entire building shaking. Or is it just the pounding of my heart that I feel? He left. Just like that, no goodbye, no I forgive you, no explanation, just those four words. I've never seen Papa this angry in all of my life. And I have no idea what to do about it. No idea how I can make everything better, make everything the way it was before, before I had been bad and ruined everything. They weren't particularly unusual words, I'd heard them all before, just never in that particular order, in that particular tone, and certainly not directed at me. And when those words came together like that, they took a completely new meaning, one I could never have imagined. I'd almost think I misheard, but I didn't. That's exactly what he said, and exactly what he meant. It was supposed to be a great day, but instead it's been the worst day of my life! Papa found out that I had been apprenticing for a witch in secret, and even though I only wanted to help he's still so angry he made me lead him all the way to Mistress' house. He probably yelled at her too, though not so much that she turned him into a frog or something. In fact, after talking to her he was a little more calm, and he actually let me try to explain. I tried really hard to make it better then, and I almost thought it was working. Right up until he asked that question."What do you want your life to be?"That's what he asked me.I never thought that far, not at all. I've never worried about that kind of stuff, never really considered that it was something I'd have to do. I just wanted to help Papa, but now he won't let me help him at all. Not with magic anyway. How was I supposed to answer a question like that? How was I supposed to know what would make him happy? It wasn't fair at all!I tried anyway, and clearly, I answered wrong. I had to think really quick, so it shouldn't have counted! I wasn't prepared! I tried to use my imagination, tried to think, what COULD I do with magic, what would it make sense to do? All I could think of was that someone like that should definitely do her best to help people, in any way that it's possible. So that's what I told him."I want to use magic to protect people and help solve mysteries and problems."He stood up with a grunt. And the he said the words and left."Just like your sister."
>>584580Is that what I am? What I did wrong?I've never once before been just like my sister, not in any way. It's... difficult to understand. The gentle touch of a by now quite familiar hand announces itself upon my shoulder."I have a task for you," Mistress explains in a soft whisper. "Are you prepared?"A task? I've never once before felt this sad in my life. Papa HATES me, everything is RUINED, and now she's telling me to-"I'd like that," I reply almost instinctively before even finishing my thoughts. But that's probably a good thing, my thoughts only wanted to cry and mope. Maybe it's better to just do some work to not think about it anymore."Good." She releases her soft grip on my shoulder as she begins to explain. Part of me already misses that slight touch. "I have an errand that needs doing, but I can hardly leave Camille upstairs in her current state. So I'd like you to watch over her while I'm away. Can you do that for me?""Huh? Wouldn't you rather let me do the errand so you can stay here?" That IS her daughter up there, surely she would rather stay here?"It's ah, not an ordinary errand. But I suppose it is within your capabilities, though rather... scary, you might say. Are you certain you're up for it right now?">"I'm not very scared! I'll do it!">"On second thought, maybe you should do the scary thing after all. I'll stay here.">"Actually, if it's not too important... could you stay with me and talk instead? Just for a while?"
NEW STUFF: In order to make it easier for you as players to know your options I've made a kind of simplified character sheet to give you an overview of witchy things she can actually do. In addition, I've made changes to Nadja's Notebook that should hopefully make it a lot more useful. It's not divided into sections to make it easier for you guys to find her notes on, for example, a specific spell or potion. Finally, I've also added a section with brief descriptions of the characters in the quest, in case you need a reminder about who a character is. Please let me know what you think!>Nadja's Seniors:Mistress' current opinion: 25/100Lily's current opinion: 05/100Camille's current opinion: 10/100>Seal: 85/100>Nadja's Witchy Skills:Herbalism : Initiated (Potions and such!)Pencraft: Fledgling* (Hexes and wards!)Infusion: Uninitiated (Making things be magic / enchanting!)*Nadja has proven to be naturally talented at this set of skills. She learns more quickly and has a chance to intuitively understand this type of magic simply by looking at it.>Communication:Twitter: https://twitter.com/FriendQM>Archives:4plebs archive: http://archive.4plebs.org/tg/search/subject/Witch%20Apprentice%20Quest/order/asc/Suptg archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=witch+apprentice+quest (Now updated to link to the /qst/ archive for obvious reasons)->Resources:Nadja's Notebook is intended to serve as your reference material for witchy things and other stuff related to the quest. It's divided into the following categories:>1. General WitchcraftIntro to Nadja's Notebook as well as any witch-related topics outside of the three major arts will go here when Nadja learns about them: http://pastebin.com/FvemAzKN>2. HerbalismEverything about herbs and how to use them to make potions. Also contains Nadja's notes about potions she has encountered but don't know how to make herself: http://pastebin.com/vMWeFhd0>3. Pencraft (Yes I renamed it because I think it sounds cooler)Hexes and wards that Nadja knows of and how to make them: http://pastebin.com/BTUR8F94>4. InfusionThe art of bestowing magical properties to items that otherwise had none. For example, the creation of wands or flying brooms. Pastebin will be added once Nadja actually learns about any of this.>5. Nadja's NotesWhere Nadja writes her notes about various things, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE PLAYERS REQUEST THAT SOMETHING BE ADDED TO THE NOTEBOOK. You can even request to have old events added, so don't be afraid to ask: http://pastebin.com/76btWGte>6. CharactersNadja doesn't actually keep a written list of people she knows, but it seemed a list would be useful since a character could easily be absent from the quest for a month or more of real time, and it seemed more fun to write it in Nadja's voice even though she has no reason to ever write it. Anyway, you can find that here: http://pastebin.com/GbRsNuw3

Okaaaay, so... 2 votes in half an hour isn't great. I'll give it 10 minutes more before I have to roll to break the tie.
>>584590>"I'm not very scared! I'll do it!"Being scared is better than thinking about how we just messed up.
>>584714There will probably be time to think about it either way, which might make the errand more difficult to accomplish, depending on what it is.
And with the close of one confidence-shattering vote, it's time for witch apprentices to be helpful and do their errands.

>>584741I'm not caught up on this quest, but from what I remember the witch was involved with Papa, right? The errand obviously has something to do with how we ruined everything. She's going to go fix everything and make everything better, whereas if we go it will be "within your capabilities, though rather... scary, you might say"And with that in mind...>>"On second thought, maybe you should do the scary thing after all. I'll stay here."Let's just stay here and let Mistress fix everything!
>>584873She wants to be involved with Papa. Also we're a cute little girl... who sheds skins like a snake.. or spider.
>>584590"I'm not scared! Much! So don't worry, just tell me what to do and I'll do it!" It's technically true. I am not very scared yet. Nonetheless Mistress does pause and look me up and down twice before finally nodding affirmatively."Very well. I'll just need a moment to prepare," She quickly locates paper, pen, and ink, then sets about hastily scribbling a message with intense focus. A brief moment later she folds the paper into a neat letter and hands it to me. "I need you to deliver this message.""That's all? You just need me to deliver a letter?""No." She states sharply and departs once again for the upstairs room before I can even notice that she has grabbed my wrist and dragged me along with her. "This is by no means an ordinary recipient.""Wha-? Is it another one of those Elder witches?""No.""A Noble?""No.""An elf? 'Cause I-""No.""Redleaf?""No.""Uhm, then maybe-""It's a daemon, Nadja.""...""...""WHAT? A DE-DE-DE-""A daemon." She repeats as she swings open the door to her closet and starts digging through the rather impressive pile of junk it had been hiding. "NOT a demon, mind you, a daemon. And yes I know it's annoying to give two different kinds of creature such similar names.""You DO know what I'm talking about, don't you?"I haven't the slightest clue."Alright, listen up then." She slams the closet's door shut again, her search efforts apparently having been rewarded with a small leather pouch that she immediately tosses into my hands. It rests lightly in my hands and is soft to touch. "You at least have heard of demons, I assume.""Yes, they're e-""Evil, world-conquering, soul-devouring monsters from a world beyond ours, yes. We do NOT deal with those, EVER.""Okay." That's a relief! For a moment I was worried that Mistress had been some evil devil-worshipper all along!"Daemons on the other hand, those we DO like."What's the diff-""The difference, Nadja, is that these have no interest in devouring your soul or really hurting you at all. What exactly they DO want varies, but it's generally not those things. And they're quite reasonable to deal with when you know their motivations."Oh... This is sounding kind of sketchy again."It's something you'll learn in time. For now, I simply need you to deliver the message as my representative of sorts. You ARE pretty much my property so it should not be considered rude.""I'm what?" I don't remember agreeing to anything like that!"Joking, sweetie." She assures me with a playful smile and a wink.>1/2
>>584982"Now three things you need to know." She immediately returns to the order of business."First, the daemon is called Vanda. You can contact her at the same site where you completed your initiation. All you need to do is go there and scatter the contents of the pouch I just gave you."Okay... that's not too hard."Second, you must be polite at ALL times, and you may NOT agree to anything. You're only delivering the message on my behalf and absolutely nothing more. Understand?""Understood." I quickly reassure her. It's not like I'd ever agree to anything without asking Papa! Well, except that one thing I guess..."Third," She begins, then holds her hand in front of me and, before I can ask what she's doing, she flicks my forehead hard."OW! Why-?""If Lily tries to bother you, just do that and tell her I said to cut it out."Oh. Lily. I almost forgot about her. Almost. Now I AM scared."Did you get all that? Not a single vote for backing out! I'm so proud of you guys right now. >>584989"Uhm, could I ask you a few questions first? If it's not too much of a rush?"Unexpectedly, a satisfied smile forms on her lips as I ask the question. "A good witch does not rush. Preparation is key, always."Oh, so I should always make sure to ask lots of questions? I'll try to keep that in mind. "Well uhm, I just want to know...""...WHY DOES PAPA HATE ME? HOW DO I FIX IT?" I vaguely recall this question sounding calm and composed in my head. Thankfully, she does not seem bothered by the sudden change in volume. If anything, she looks like she's having fun."Understanding the minds of men is NOT something a witch could teach you, Nadja. However, you ARE an idiot for arriving at such a conclusion."...arriving at such a..?"You don't think he hates me?""Mara's tears, no! That a daughter could even think such a thing of their parent..." She seems to trail off momentarily, a distant look in her eyes. "Anyway, if you want to do anything to help, I'd say it's as simple as standing by your word. Do exactly what you told him you wanted to do."It's just now that I realize she must have overheard every word of the conversation. How else could she even know..? "But when I said that... It made him angrier.""That may be so," She says with a sly smile. "But do you think he'd prefer that you back down on what you said simply because it's not what he wanted to hear?""Huh? I don't understand, why would-""Enough! Think that over on your own time and stick to question about the errand I gave you."Urgh, she knew exactly where to stop to confuse me the most! But once Mistress has said no, there's no point trying to argue."Okay so, what exactly do I do if the daemon asks me to do something?""Naturally," She explains as the sly smile before grows ever more devious. "You tell the truth: That you love and respect your Mistress too much to serve anyone but her."Putting her humor aside, I guess something like that could work. I feel a little safer now. "Last one then. What's the daemon actually like?""Oh don't worry, I picked this particular one for a reason. She should be sympathetic to my offer and... to you as well, I think.""To me?""Mmm, let's just say sending you may be a better idea than I initially thought. You are... her type, so to speak.""Her type, what does that even-""You should probably leave now unless you're particularly keen on spending another night in the forest."Her grin leaves no doubt, she is definitely giving me these half answers on purpose. At least I suppose I can feel safe knowing that she feels confident enough about this to make jokes at my expense?"Okay well, say hi from me if Camille wakes up, okay?"That one she does not give me even half an answer for, so I end up leaving in silence.>1/2
>>585349Now, if I remember correctly, all I had to do was walk along the lake (swamp or bog would be a better description, at least as far as smell is concerned) by Mistress' house and then keep going in the same direction after reaching its end. From there, the ritual site isn't terribly far.>Rolled 14 (1d20 best of three)The trip is uneventful, at first, but before less than an hour has passed is when I notice it. The occasional rustling of leaves, clearly out of tune with the wind. Someone is watching me. And judging by the fact I'm not overcome with a feeling of dread, I don't think it's Lily. That's something. The question is, how should I respond to this knowledge? I could simply call it out, right here and now, but that would force it to either run or reveal itself. And it COULD be something I'd rather did not reveal itself.Alternatively, I could feign ignorance and keep going. At least now that I know it's there, I'm prepared if it tries something funny, though there's a chance I won't find out who it is or what they want at all.Or if I really want to be safe, I could just assume whoever is there is up to no good and strike first with one of those potions Cinnamon gave me. >>585406Nadja couldn't pull off a proper demand if her life depended on it. She needs all the training she can get.
>>585416She CAN get rather angry on occasion, and stop being nice. It has happened in the quest more than once!Your idea is still cute though, which makes it correct. Writing commences.
>>585447Those were after she was provoked far more than this, if I recall correctly.

>>585352"I know you're there!" I call out, totally firm and Mistress-like! Well, at least a little like her. I think. In situations like these you need to make sure to show that you're deadly serious and that if they try to mess with you, you'll make them regret it for the rest of their life! That's what a witch would do because witches are scary and dangerous!"So uhm, I think you should stop hiding! Please? I won't be mean or anything!"And definitely not sounding at all like her anymore. Great going, Nadja. I really should have read that book about how to be scary instead yesterday. I'm never going to get good at this otherwise, am I..?"Heeheeheeeee!" The stranger cackles loudly, her strange voice quickly becoming much more familiar. I don't know why SHE would be here, but there's no mistaking it, that voice could only belong to-"Good job, rival!" She congratulates me as she steps out from the tree she was hiding behind.Cinnamon.Adorable name that I kinda wish I had thought of myself aside, this girl may only be my senior by one year but that doesn't mean she shouldn't be taken seriously. Though not the fire-potion-to-the-face kind of serious, for sure. She may want me to be her rival, but she did also help me out earlier. She might make a very good friend after I've gotten to know her! She's still sporting that adora-cool red and gold outfit from last time, complete with the classical witch hat that I am DEFINITELY not jealous of in any way. Unlike last time though, this time she is also holding a broom in her right hand. Looking at her, I start to wonder how she even managed to stay hidden for a second wearing all that."Cinnamon? What are you doing here? Why were you following me?""Heheh!" She grins proudly as she adjusts her hat very slightly, probably looking very cool in her imagination. "I was actually on my way to deliver this package here to the Raven when I saw my fated rival leaving on a mission. So, naturally, I decided to see just how worthy of a rival she was by planning a little ambush. To no surprise, Robin the Brave lived up to my every expectation and saw right through my little test!"Brave... She's probably going to keep calling me that even though she's probably the only person in the world who thinks that of me, I'm sure."So... your mistress sent you on an errand and you decided to follow me around instead of finishing your chore?"This IS the girl who had been punished with froggification the first time I met her. I... feel that I just gained some new perspective on that matter."Heheh, of course!" Her grin somehow manages to shine even brighter as she admits to skipping her chores. "It's just some stupid chore after all, it can wait an hour or two! There's no rush!"1/2
>>585672"Well alright but..." She's not holding anything but that broom. "Where's the package?"Instantly, her eyes go wide as her eyes begin to shift from left to right while she turns about."Crud! I must have dropped it! You gotta help me find it!"She... seriously did manage to lose the package because she thought it was more important to test me? I do still feel a little sorry for her, but... Mistress did sound like this was kind of urgent. >"Sorry but Mistress said this errand was urgent, I can't help you. >>585677>>"I... might get in trouble if I'm late... but I guess it would be mean not to help."If we're the demon we're going to meet's type, that means she shouldn't get too angry if we just be ourselves! And that means it's okay to help someone who needs help even if it makes us a little late!

And I definitely am not one!"Okay... but I really need to hurry or I might get in trouble too!"And I don't know if Mistress is any more forgiving than Redleaf is. My guess though would be... No, definitely not."YES!" She squeals cheerfully. "Thanks, you're the greatest, Robin! Okay so I basically followed you all the way from Raven's house but I didn't land until-""Land?"She points nonchalantly towards the broom in her right hand."Oh right! Hey I didn't know you had one of those!" Does that mean I only have to wait one year to get my own broom?"It's uh..." And with that, even the most vague semblance of her former proud smile has faded. At least it's not mud today. One forceful impact with ground later does have my knees elbows wishing for the soft mud of yesterday though, rather than the roots of trees poking out from the ground to "unsoften" my fall. They're just scrapes, I think, but it still does hurt! More importantly though, as I lift my head from the ground once more, I see it, right there in front of me. A small square box wrapped in brown paper and tightened with coarse string. It's got to be the package she lost."Robin! Robin are you oka-" An excited gasp punctually marks the end of her concern for my safety. "YOU FOUND IT! YOU ARE SO AWESOME, ROBIN!"She dives quickly to the ground, grabbing the package with both hands and, only then, offers me a hand to help me back up."Hey, so uhm," she looks about a little awkwardly as mouths the words a few times before actually saying them. So uhm, I know this is even earlier than usual, but I'm afraid my lack of sleep last night has caught up with me in a bad way and I'll be calling this a night. On that note however, I am considering making some use of the snail pace of this board and running a short session tomorrow night at the same time in this thread, if you guys are interested. So basically, would you be interested in that? It'd be shorter since I'll be needing to get up early the day after tomorrow, but since I could reuse the thread instead of starting one for just a few (like 4-5 absolute tops) hours of quest, I wouldn't feel bad about it. I do need to know if you guys will consider it worth showing up for though. So please let me know, yay or nay on a short continuation tomorrow at the same time? Again, I'll continue right here in this thread, but I'll also let you know on twitter as usual.>>586043...I was supposed to write a line about that. I thought I did write it. It's not there, though.>>586070Looks like it worked, so yes! I am smarts!>>586054>>586061Aww that's sweet!-And with all that out of the way, time for bed! As always you're very welcome to ask questions and give feedback and all of that good stuff that makes my heart pound faster. I guess the slowness of /qst/ means I can even answer tomorrow if I've fallen asleep by the time you post.
Cinnamon is cuter than Nadja.Come at me.
>>586152It's probably true, her papa probably doesn't hate her either.
>twitter being a technical dumpsterfire made me miss the whole sessionfuck
>>585961>>Something else? [Write-in!]She’s on the way to Mistress, right? Wouldn’t it be fastest to use the broom to quickly go back to Mistress and then fly to our destination? That would allow both of us to reach our destinations quickly.
>>585961SESSION 2 BEGIN"And so let it be known to all of the world that there is no greater enemy of Democracy and Progress than that of the witch and those who shelter them. On the honour of my family I swear there will be no end to this war until every last of these she-devils is burned to ashes."- First General Adrianus of the Republican Army addresses the Senate after his defeat at the Battle of Talons, 303 AR-"No no, I can't ask you to do that! Please just go deliver your package before you get in more trouble!""Naaah," she replies, already having regained that prideful composure after being in a complete panic just a few seconds ago. "Don't worry, it can wait a few hours, no problem!""You just told me it was urgent!""Well... yeah, but not nearly as urgent as repaying my debt to-"This isn't going to work, is it? It's almost as if she WANTS to get in trouble, but I'm pretty sure she's just somehow managing to completely forget about that."Okay, listen. The thing is, I WOULD like your help Cinnamon, but Mistress trusted me to handle this alone. If I went and got help from you, then she'd be disappointed and I might get in trouble that way. So you'd help me more if you didn't help me, see?"She looks me over for a few moments with a furrowed brow while biting her lip. I think that's what she looks like when she's trying to think. Finally, after some really awkward moments, she flashes a huge grin and claps her hands in front of her. "I've got it!"...it? "The perfect solution to both our problems! I need to pay you back for your help, and you need to go do whatever it is you need to do alone. And so, the perfect and genius solution I've come up with is... I'll let you ask ONE-"She holds one finger in front of her dramatically as she stresses the word one."- just ONE question that I promise to answer truthfully and absolutely. I get to go finish my errand quickly, and you get to tap just a little of the nearly infinite wisdom of your senior rival! Brilliant, isn't it?"Or... we could just say we're even, but that would be too easy for you, wouldn't it?"Alright, so... I can ask you anything?""Anything!""Okay, then my question is...">"Tell me everything you know about daemons!" Mistress was intentionally vague about this, so...>"What's his name? His real name?">"Does your Papa love you?">Something else? [Write-in!]

>>590591>"What's his name? His real name?"

>>590591>"Tell me everything you know about daemons!" Mistress was intentionally vague about this, so...
Italics break the greentext. Should've probably seen that coming. I'll have to avoid using those in the prompts, I guess.3 in favor of asking an extremely personal question, 2 in favor of asking for useful information. Lovely!
>>590712Well really, there's 4 in favor of personal information.
>>590724That fourth one isn't nearly as personal.
>>590724Well that's true, the third option fits the mark too. I might be guilty of leading you on, but only a little bit!
>>590756You're a bad influence on innocent fictional girls
>>590591>"Does your Papa love you?"late vote for still being emotionally fucked up
>>590591>"What's his name? His real name?"late vote for being rude

>>591050This.>"Tell me everything you know about daemons!" Mistress was intentionally vague about this, so...
>>591058>I am sorry mister Daemon but I already belong to Mistress in body and soul. Just remember to say this guys.
>>590591This might be going a little too far, but... She did promise."What's his name? His real name?"In a single instant her proud grin is washed away by anger as she locks eyes with me in an intense stare. "THAT is what you're going to choose?"She groans in protests while folding her arms in front of her, and yet... "FINE!""You probably think it bothers me, right? That i'm going to get really upset and embarrass myself in front of you? You're trying to make me vulnerable to win the rivalry, right?""I just wanted to-""WELL THINK AGAIN! THE MIGHTY CINNAMON IS NOT DEFEATED SO EASILY!"As I watch her boastfully holding her fists against her sides with her chin high in the air I must admit that... I am actually a little impressed by how quickly she regained her composure. I wonder if there is anything in this world at all that she can't recover from? In a way... I actually wish I was like her. If I was as strong as her on the inside, then..."I do applaud your efforts, dear rival, you're more clever than I thought. BUT YOU'LL HAVE TO TRY EVEN HARDER IF YOU WANT TO DEFEAT THE MIGHTY CINNAMON!""His[i/] name is David. Happy? Not like that'll do you any good seeing as how he left without even telling anyone where, so you'll never find him! Muahaha! You've completely wasted your question! I actually feel a little sorry for you, it must really suck to waste a chance like that! So to soften your defeat, I will bid you a good day-"She quickly turns her back to me with a loud whoosh, somehow, despite not wearing a cape or anything like that, then swings her legs over the broom in her hand."See you, Robin!"And with that, she's off, leaving only... Oh no."CINNAMON, WAIT!" I call as loudly as I can, but she doesn't seem to hear me as she speeds into the distance."You left the package... again."......She's never going to find it again once she finally realizes, is she? At this point the only decent thing to do is bring it for her. It was intended for Mistress anyway, so it's not any trouble for me. She'll probably be in a panic again trying to find it, but there's no way for me to prevent that. It's too big to fit in my backpack, but it's not heavy or anything, shouldn't be too much trouble. Now, time to go back to the actual job, then. If I recall correctly, it shouldn't be too much further to the ritual site. I do wonder though, who will be the one to interrupt me next time I have to go there. Last time it was Lily being super creepy. That was definitely worse, so I should probably consider myself lucky.>1/2
>>591124I remembered right. I can't have walked more than half an hour before locating the spot where my initiation took place. It's really strange seeing it again. It hasn't even been a week, yet it feels like ancient history. Mostly I remember the feeling of my heart trying to push its way out of my chest. First there was the anxiety about having to make the Three Pledges. Then there was the actual dangerous part, and then... the part where someone had stolen my clothes! That was so embarrassing! I remember I blamed the fairy Flimflam because, well because she was the only one there and did try to lead me the wrong way, but according to that book about fairies, she couldn't have been lying. So it couldn't have been her. And now that I think about it, could she even carry my stuff at all? But if it wasn't her, then who..?That's not the point, though. I'm here to contact the daemon Vanda and deliver the message from Mistress. The letter is safe in my backpack, and the pouch with the thingy I need to call her too. So I'm ready, right?Right?>Read the letter first, then call the daemon.>Don't read the letter. Mistress didn't actually say not to read it, but... wasn't it implied?>Something else? [Write-in!]Wow, I really fucked up that formatting, huh? I might just stop using it, too much of a bother to check it for typoes.
>>591132>Don't read the letter. Mistress didn't actually say not to read it, but... wasn't it implied?Good girl!
>>591132>>Don't read the letter. Mistress didn't actually say not to read it, but... wasn't it implied?Huh. I feel kinda bad about that.
>>591132>>Don't read the letter. Mistress didn't actually say not to read it, but... wasn't it implied?
>>591132>Read the letter first, then call the daemon.
>>591173>>Don't read the letter. Mistress didn't actually say not to read it, but... wasn't it implied?
>>591132>>Read the letter first, then call the daemon.Go on, you know you want to.
>>591173>>Don't read the letter. Mistress didn't actually say not to read it, but... wasn't it implied? And remember to finally get a cat familiar Or turn our best friend into one so she won't die before us.
>>591211I'm sure we can help Amalia without turning her into a familiar!
I want to become friends with Flimflam and look back on our earlier difficulties with fondness.
>>591236Not to live longer, you need to be a witch or a wizard or a monster for that. And I don't want to turn her into a monster, that would be meanAlso alchemists don't count as Wizards right? Real Alchemists are do rare thry probably count s their own species.
>>591236>>591259I want a cat! Not a frog or a dumb fairy or whatever! Or our best friend so we don't have to watch her get old and die.
>>591132>Read the letter first, then call the daemon. She didn't say not to read it, and it doesn't appear to be sealed.
>>591286But it would be out of character to read the letter. We aren't a bad aprendice!
>>591298Yes we are the best aprendice, much better than our rival!
>>591298I wouldn't put it past Mistress to say we're being a bad apprentice for NOT reading the letter when she didn't explicitly tell us not to.>>591283Fairies aren't dumb and they're in the OP picture which makes them the best!
>>591298Mistress probably thinks that a good aprendice would read it?
No peeking it is! The message shall remain strictly confidential.>>591164>Huh. I feel kinda bad about that. You shouldn't feel bad for Cinnamon. She doesn't.>>591263That's an extremely blurry line and you could argue in favor of either, really.>>591338A good witch would read it.A good apprentice would not read it.But what should a witch apprentice do..?
>>591348>You shouldn't feel bad for Cinnamon. She doesn't.Our question unsettled her enough that she forgot the package again and she's going to be punished and it's all our fault
>>591358>Our question unsettled her enough that she forgot the package again and she's going to be punished and it's all our faultNot at this point it isn't. We did all we could to help her and she still left it behind.
>>591315Cats are the best! Our cat will eat dumb fairies for breakfast!
>>591132Right.I can't think of anything I need to do first. Well, obviously I should leave the package outside of the circle of pillars, otherwise the daemon might think it's a gift for her. And then I'd both lose the package AND I have no idea if whatever is inside would offend her or please her. Very bad idea!Besides, if I just leave it here for a moment nobody would come along to steal it. This time. Probably. Well it's safer here than where Cinnamon left it so I'm still helping anyway! So, Mistress said all I had to was stand in the circle and then scatter the contents of the bag. That basically means throw it into the wind, right? Though, what is this stuff? The stench that rushes forward as I untighten the pouch is horrible! I don't even know what to call it, it's just... Awful! It's some kind of dust or sand, a bright azure just like the sky on a warm Summer's day. I've never seen anything like this down here on the earth! But I suppose it makes sense, if it was something anyone could get, it would be way too easy to contact this daemon, right? They'd be getting bothered all the time but regular people who want help with completely ordinary things!Stench aside, it really does look quite pretty as I begin to throw it into the air, the wind quick taking hold of the dust and spreading it all around me. I can't help letting out a little giggle as the dust catches the rays of the sun and glistens all around me. It reminds me a little of my first night here, except none of this would kill me if I touch it....It wouldn't, right? Nah, Mistress would have said so if it was dangerous! She would never put me in danger like that!>1/2
>>591777As soon as the thought crosses my mind I feel the ground begin to shake lightly under my feet, an embarrasing yelp escaping my lips with the surprise.Shortly after I notice it, out from the plain grass in front of me, thin plant stalks begin to rise from the ground and twirl around each other as they grow higher and higher, soon standing even taller than me. Without even thinking it, my feet begin to back away from the... thing. It takes a tremendous effort from my conscious to remind them that, if this is the daemon I'm here to meet, showing fear like that might just make her angry. As the upwards growth finally reaches its climax, flowers begin to bloom and leaves sprout in mere seconds all across the green mass, as if it was being bathed in all the colors of the rainbow. Beneath the layer of fear from watching something my mind insists should not be possible, I really am in awe. There are so many different flowers, I couldn't even name half of them. Some of them I'm pretty sure I've never even seen in my life. Do they grow in this forest at all?Next, the newly-born blossoms begin to part from each other, splitting the great mass of stalks right open and revealing within a... a girl? Or a very young woman judging by her height, but judging by everything else it's clearly that this is no human. The stalks and leaves wrap around her spring green skin, forming a dress of sorts, while from her head long blades of grass flow like hair. And as if she felt she hadn't made enough of an impression, a score or two of butterflies escape from behind her "hair", dancing sporadically in the air around her. Then, and no sooner, does she open her eyes to look directly into mine, piercing as if she was looking straight into my soul. And somehow, I suspect, she might be doing exactly that."Speak." She finally orders, though I could swear I did not see her mouth move.Should I...>Hand her the letter from Mistress without saying anything. That way I can't say anything I shouldn't, right?>Try to politely introduce myself, hopefully not stammering too much, then give her the letter.>Run away. And scream. Definitely scream.>Something else? [Write-in!]
>>591786>Try to politely introduce myself, hopefully not stammering too much, then give her the letter.Well, mistress didn't warn us from speaking directly.
>>591786>Hand her the letter from Mistress without saying anything. That way I can't say anything I shouldn't, right?
>>591786"Hello! I have a message from my mistress. May I give it to you?"then>Hand her the letter from Mistress Simple, polite, not giving up any extra information. That’s what we were supposed to do.(Optionally throw in a "I think you are very pretty!")
>>591786>>Try to politely introduce myself, hopefully not stammering too much, then give her the letter. She TOLD us to speak. That means it's impolite to not speak!
>>591786>>Try to politely introduce myself, hopefully not stammering too much, then give her the letter.
>>591851Indeed. And mistress told us to make sure we were polite!
>>591786>Try to politely introduce myself, hopefully not stammering too much, then give her the letter. She did ask to speak, and we were told to be polite.
>>591786>>591841Yeah I'll support.
If we somehow come out of this with her asking to be friends with us, do we agree or not?I'm sorry Mistress! I agreed to something! I agreed to be her friend!Something that cute is almost worth whatever horrible things result from the agreement.
>>591881Ah, but mistress only said we shouldn't agree with her, non? We can solve this conundrum easily - by asking her to be friends first!
>>591786>Try to politely introduce myself, hopefully not stammering too much, then give her the letter.
So try attempt a polite introduction and optionally sneak in a compliment like suggested by >>591841We can do that.>>591881Don't worry anon, a daemon would never ask you that. It would be like if you asked your dog if it wanted to be friends with you. Ridiculous..
>>591965O-oh, yeah. Who'd ask their dog to be friends!? Haha, hahahaha.
>>591965Also supporting the sneaky compliment.>pet analogyLet there be headpats in our future.I ask stray dogs if they want to be friends on the very rare occasions that I meet a friendly dog.
>>592031We are turning into Mistress now? In ten years we become a giant but we are still A cup.
>>591786"Hgehgo..." I barely squeeze the... sound I suppyse, out of my parched throat. I try to turn my head in embarrassment but somehow... I cannot? She smiles a merciful smile, as if she fully expected me to mess up something as simple as speaking. Even as she watches me gulp repeatedly in a desperate attempt to restore my throat to working order, she keeps smiling patiently."i uh, I..." Barely a whisper comes out, yet she gives me a weak nod, confirming that it'll do."I... My nane- neh- NAME, is uhm... Nadja and I'm... I mean I have a messy- nono, a MESSAGE, from Mistress. Uhm, from my Mistress. Uhm, can uh.. Can-"She extends her hand as if to take the message. Hurriedly I pull it from my backpack and, with my hand shivering as if I had been buried in freezing snow, I place it in her hand. She, with an elegance sharply contrasting mine, quickly unfolds the letter and, after a single moment's glance at the content, crumbles it in her hand."No." She declares, the power behind her voice immediately transforming the word from a simple statement into law. Whatever was in the letter, it will not happen. "This offer is not good enough."But Mistress trusted me! Did I do something wrong? Was I too nervous, is that why she rejected it? Is she going to eat me now? What do I-"However, if it was YOU asking, then that would be different. For one such as you, I would gladly provide this favor. If it was YOU asking, then it would serve my interests. Unfortunate.""M-me? Why me..?"Once more, she gives me that piercing stare and I could almost swear I could feel her digging through my mind, my memories, even my dreams. Somehow, she is making me feel far more naked and vulnerable than when I undertook my initiation here. Finally, the presence leaves my head and she speaks once more. Actually, is "speak" the right word? I don't think it actually means whatever she is doing."Because you are what you are. That is all. So tell me, do you want me to do what your Mistress is asking of me, Nadja the Robin?"I never told her that name! This is so not right, I don't like this one bit! If she knows that name, doesn't she also know that Mistress told me not to agree to anything?"Yes, I am aware."Eek! She's still in my head?!?This is not good... I'm not supposed to make any agreements, and this is definitely one. On the other hand, if I don't Mistress won't get what she wants from this lady. What do I do?>"Yes, please do what Mistress asked." She's only asking me to ask her, so that's harmless right?>"No, it is only my Mistress who is asking you." Mistress said so, I should do what Mistress says!>Scream, then run away.>Something else? [Write-in!]
>>592428>>Something else? [Write-in!]"What did mistress ask?"I mean, duh.
>>592428>>"Yes, please do what Mistress asked." She's only asking me to ask her, so that's harmless right?Sure, pretty daemon lady.I'm not going to think too hard about this.
>>592428>"What is it that my Mistress asks of you?"We can still form a request without simply agreeing to her. If we simply straight up agree, I’m afraid the references might screw everything up. As in "I, the mistress, ask you do this to me." → "I, Nadja the Robin, ask you to do this to me."
>>592428>"No, it is only my Mistress who is asking you." Mistress said so, I should do what Mistress says!
>>592428>>"No, it is only my Mistress who is asking you." Mistress said so, I should do what Mistress says!>
>>592486I thought about asking this, but she's been in our head. She knows we don't know. But I'll switch anyway.>Ask what Mistress asked.
>>592428>"I don't know what was in the letter, so I can't ask you to do it!"
>>592532>I thought about asking this, but she's been in our head. She knows we don't know.It doesn't matter if she knows we don't know, because it's actually true that we don't know, you know?
>>592486>>592509>>592532You can ask her, but I'd have to remind you that you'd be asking her to reveal the contents of the letter. Previously you respected its privacy, has the situation changed enough that you no longer wish to respect that?
>>592570>"No, it is only my Mistress who is asking you." Mistress said so, I should do what Mistress says!
>>592428>"No, it is only my Mistress who is asking you." Mistress said so, I should do what Mistress says!>>592570Fair point, I'll respect the privacy.
>>592570For this sort of thing, usually I’d say either the writer or the recipient can reveal the content. I’d be different if it was something private or something we were asked not to read…Actually, I’d add a>"…If it’s nothing too private."to any question regarding the content.
>>592428>"I don't know. I was only asked to deliver the message."
>>592570Well that's different. We didn't want to read the contents because the letter was meant to be between two parties neither of which had said it was okay to read it. Now we are ASKING one of the parties if we can know what the letter says - if they agree then we have de facto permission to know what it says, and there is no privacy to respect.
>>592570Yes, the situation has changed.mostly because no one is going to vote for agreeing without learning it except me, apparentlyI suspect that simply showing our face means she's not going to accept Mistress's request even if MIstress shows up in person. She'll say "Bring Nadja" and that'll be that.;
>>592570I disagree. Peeking into the letter when it's none of our business is one thing. But she's asking us whether we want whatever is in there to happen now. It's not just delivering a message anymore, the decision has actually been handed to us. Whatever is in there COMPLETELY our business.
It feels like she's going to be getting whatever daemon-jollies she desires from us whether we agree or not.
>>592717It's still really not our business unless we make it so, which would go against orders.
>>592764We were ordered to not make any deals. This counts as a deal. So my answer is no.
>>592782>I was ordered to not make any deals with you by my mistress. Is as simple as that, we are too good two shoes to contradict a direct order from our mistress.
>>592808Isn't blindly following orders totally not a Witch thing?
Okay, so I want to make sure the vote is completely clear on this matter and right now it's a little difficult to tell so I'm going to have to ask you for a re-vote..Please pick ONE of the two options below:>Ask her what the letter said BEFORE deciding anything>Do not ask her, decide right nowAnd please ALSO pick ONE from the two options below:>If you do not want to know what's in the letter, AGREE and ask her to do what it says>If you do not want to know what's in the letter, DO NOT AGREE and do not ask her to do what it saysAgain, I need you to pick one from EACH of the two sets of options. So you're voting on TWO questions. If the vote to ask her wins, we'll continue next time and you'll get to vote on what to do AFTER hearing what's in the letter. If the vote to NOT ask her wins, we'll go with whichever of the two options from the second set wins and continue next time.Hopefully this is not too complicated, but since this does kind of matter (there's no WRONG choice but the consequences will be quite different) I don't want there to be any doubt about this vote. This is the last vote of the thread, so you will have plenty of time to make a decision. Please vote again now!
>>592829>Ask her what the letter said BEFORE deciding anything>If you do not want to know what's in the letter, AGREE and ask her to do what it says
>>592829>Ask her what the letter said BEFORE deciding anything>If you do not want to know what's in the letter, DO NOT AGREE and do not ask her to do what it says
>>592829>Do not ask her, decide right now>If you do not want to know what's in the letter, DO NOT AGREE and do not ask her to do what it says
>>592829>Ask her what the letter said BEFORE deciding anythingNo plans to agree, just want to know.
>>592829>>592829>Ask her what the letter said BEFORE deciding anything>If you do not want to know what's in the letter, DO NOT AGREE and do not ask her to do what it says
hm, what mistress actually said was an answer to the question "what should I do if the daemon asks me to do somthing?" and was 'say you cannot serve any but your Mistress'so I'm not sure how that translates to the daemon asking if Nadja wants the daemon to do something.
>>593026Saying no, because we were told to NOT MAKE ANY DEALS with the Daemon.
>>592764The daemon made it so. Out of our hands.>>592829>Ask her what the letter said BEFORE deciding anything>If you do not want to know what's in the letter, DO NOT AGREE and do not ask her to do what it says
>>593026>I was ordered to not make any deals with you by my mistress because I belong to her.
Once we learn what the letter is, it's going to know if Nadja wants to daemon to do what the letter says from reading her mind.I really hope we don't end up having to lie.
>>593089It's not out our hands. She refused the offer in the letter that we were sent to deliver, and then asked a question to which we for not have an answer for, so we really do not have to do anything.
>>593171No, you don't understand. If SHE tells us what she wants us to agree to, then it's HER telling us so. We aren't peeking in the letter, the information isn't coming from it, it's coming from the daemon. We delivered the message. What the person we delivered it to does with that message is not our responsibility.
>>593204The Daemon might be able to lie but if she dies about what the deal is, then she would get in trouble, unless she uses weird wording.Oh she will definitely use weird wording, is a daemon aftef all.
The clear majority so far wants to know what's in the letter before making a decision. If that hasn't changed by the turn of the hour, I'll close the vote then. Should be plenty of time for everyone to have noticed I asked for a re-vote.>>592757I can confirm that she's enjoying this encounter immensely.>>592808>>592825Apprentices obey, witches do not obey. This kinda keeps being an issue with anything that involves Mistress and poor Nadja is helplessly confused by contradictory messages. So much that one could be tempted to think Mistress is just doing it to mess with her.But that's crazy talk.>>593171>>593204If we're going to split hairs (not necessarily a bad idea in this situation mind you) she asked> do you want me to do what your Mistress is asking of me Whether that changes anything for you, I don't know.
>>593275Yeah maybe we should be asking what's exactly what she wants us to agree to instead of what the letter says.
>>593204But she already refused the offer, and we don't even know what it was so we have done everything we were asked to do, and do not have to do anything more.
>>593292We don't have to not do it either.>>593284>Whether that changes anything for you, I don't know.I guess? Maybe our answer to her question should be "I don't know." Followed by silence.
>>593284No.What she ACTUALLY ASKED WAS:> do you want me to do what your Mistress is asking of me with YOU taking the deal?
>>593284>If we're going to split hairs (not necessarily a bad idea in this situation mind you) she asked>> do you want me to do what your Mistress is asking of me >Whether that changes anything for you, I don't know. That's not quite it. She asked us to TELL HER if we want her to do what Mistress is asking of her.Which means reading our mind and seeing that we want her to do it shouldn't count.Though I suspect the request is going to be something Nadja won't have an instant agreement or disagreement to.
>>593284GM don't lie. What she actually asked was this:>>593307And we were told to NOT MAKE DEALS WITH THE DAEMON.
>>593306We may not have to not do it, but it is most certainly not out of our hands. Also, I did originally suggest saying I don't know.
>>593331>NOT MAKE DEALS WITH THE DAEMON.This vote isn't about making a deal or not yet.
>>593341>We may not have to not do it, but it is most certainly not out of our hands. The responsibility for delivering the message faithfully IS out of our hands. The message is delivered. Our task is complete. We're talking to the daemon now, we aren't sneaking looks into a letter.
>>593331We can make our own damn decisions. If the deal is something Nadja likes, why shouldn't she take it? That's the Witch way.
'twas a good OP, FriendQM.
>>593354Because we'll inevitably vote No.
>>593331Yes. We know nothing about Daemons and it would be quite stupid to blindly agree to something. Also we should not be doing Mistress job when we don't even know what she promised the Daemon. Not to mention we may be naive, but we aren't stupid, even the fairy tales Papa and others told us warm about making deals without knowing the price.
>>593307No it wasn't, although she did say she would do it if we asked.
>>593354Because she was told not to, and it could be dangerous.
>>593354Because you moron, we don't know the price. What the daemon is asking us is:"Do you want me to do what your Mistress is asking of me with YOU taking the deal?"
>>593373Then why are you voting to look at the letter? If Nadja wants to do it, we vote to do it after asking what consequences agreeing will have. It's that simple.
>>593394No, he's right. She said she would do it if Nadja happened to be the one asking her to do so instead of mistress. >However, if it was YOU asking, then that would be different.> For one such as you, I would gladly provide this favor.>If it was YOU asking, then it would serve my interests. She literally said the same thing three times. Can't get more blatant than that.
>>593421But that wasn't the question.
>>592829>>592428And closing the vote, and the session. The clear majority voted to ask for more information before making a decision. We'll continue from there next thread, which I aim to run next weekend. Possibly a two day thread again, we'll see. As always, I'll do my best to keep you in the know about scheduling via Twitter. And as always, post-thread discussion and questions is welcome!I hope you enjoyed this first thread after an extended break, and I hope to see you next time!END OF THREAD 25That's nice, dear.- Unsigned letter found by the body of First General Adrianus, two days before the signing of the Treaty of Esaille.
>>593409Because I want to know what's in the stupid letter and we have a way to do it legitimately now.Like I said, this has nothing to do with accepting any deal or not yet. We didn't even get that far in the negotiations yet.>>593431Arguable, anon. It can be twisted either way, if you were of a mind to. Maybe we wouldn't have caught that fact if she only asked the final question instead of spelling it out first, but she did.
>>593421Yes finally.Making a blind deal is something even five years old get warmed against. And Nadja looks the type to be a fan of fairy tales. Plus we already been told to be careful.
>>593441Thanks for running, Friend!
>>593441Thanks for running.
>>593449Not to mention that when the GM makes people vote again, is serious business.Mistress warned us the DAEMON COULD END OWNING US IF WE AREN'T CAREFUL!
>>593441Thanks for running.I hope we see more of flower-daemon no matter how this encounter ends. She's definitely looking forward to the next one on her end.
>>593480But what if we get PLANT POWERS
Thanks for running. But you get no thanks for lying about what the Daemon asked us.
>>593448Either way, answering the question would be foolish, so knowing what the deal is may not be a good thing.
>>593537We don't need to answer the question even if we think we know what the deal is, anon.
>>593552But it is considerably more rude to not answer after you have gone out of your way to find out what the answer would be with no intention of answering in the first place.
>>593601It's not rude if you just say "I don't know." or something of that sort. And there's no way to say there was no intention to answer in the first place, I mean I'm pretty sure we did have some people voting for it. Remember, Nadja isn't calculating all of this at length in her head, there is obviously separation between her and us.
>>593601Not answering when we want to answer likely means we get a proper lesson on daemons and sent right back up here to agree tomorrow. From the daemon's point of view, that could be preferable to us agreeing on this trip because it means she gets to see more cute Nadja than she would otherwise.
>>593640That would indeed not be rude, but it is not an answer we can give if we actually do know.
What we know of witches so far, by Paolo the Alchemist ( not a wizard! Call me wizard again and you will join my colection as a Jade statue)● Witches work for themselves.● Witches work in a case by case basis.● Witches aren't slaves or servants to anyone.● Witches must make wizards miserable.● Witches can be hired to do a job but not hired permanently.● Aprendice witches must obey their mistress as long as there is no abuse. ● Aprendices are not full witches and are considered servants of their mistress, not slaves.● If an aprendice witch is tricked to be the slave of a supernatural creature, it doesn't deserve to become a real witch because there are enough idiots with power already and because witches as told before, aren't servants or slaves to anyone.● A witch age cannot be told by looks alone.● The only being more vengative than a witch is a scorned witch, so avoid dating them at all.
Oh right, I forgot to say thanks for playing. But you know I meant to, so it still counts!>>593493No lies, I quoted my own posted directly! The words are right there, you can't question that!>>593488I can't promise that you will see her, but she will definitely see you.>>593480I'll gladly repeat my assurance that there is no WRONG choice, which does imply that something that drastic isn't on the table.Besides, in a sense she already owned you before you even came here. In that same sense however, that ownership is extremely temporary, no matter what she does.If it helps, I'd also like to reassure you that you're doing great. Mistress did say that dealing with daemons isn't too difficult when you know what that specific daemon wants. But you don't know! You're playing hard-mode here, so with that in mind, you really are doing great!
>>593687We aren't going to know.
We need to call Vanda by her name at some point. >>593717That's a big assumption. For all you know the request could be curing an entire town of a horrible disease, and Nadja will go YES I WANT THAT TO HAPPEN.>>593716>I can't promise that you will see her, but she will definitely see you.Yesssssssss>Besides, in a sense she already owned you before you even came here. In that same sense however, that ownership is extremely temporary, no matter what she does. She's a daemon of innocent young girls? Naivete? GOOD GIRLS? Wait, that last one can't be right, Nadja will ALWAYS be a good girl.
>>593742Because adding even more random info we have no way to understand when we're already in over our heads is just going to make it worse.
>>593765That is assuming it is random info we have no way to understand.
>>593716You still forgot to say it was Nadja making the deal, and that has different consequences than our Mistress doing it.So you lied because you didn't say the full truth. It wasn’t even a lie by omission because the Daemon told us we would be the one making the deal. Honestly doesn't anyone remember fairy tales anymore? What's with so many people wanting to make blind deals? Witches aren't slaves or servants. And aprendices are servants only to their mistress. Is that so hard to get? I mean an Alchemist knows that and their kind are so ignorant they tried to archive inmortality eating jade and gold for CENTURIES!
>>593761That's an even bigger assumption.I mean, sure, maybe it is something where it'll be more appropriate to RP a bad choice instead of taking a smart choice. But if that's the case then that's for the best, and it's still a good idea to take the bad choice, because it will lead the quest in a better direction. Not that I think it's remotely possible this will happen. No, either it's going to be something arbitrary and innocuous sounding, or it'll be something arcane and confusing, and in either of those cases Nadja can truthfully say that she can't make an informed decision.
>>593765Also, if it is, then there was no point in asking in the first place.
>>593492Anon, this is Witch Apprentice Quest, not Daemon Familiar Quest.
>>593783We don't have any way to understand it, because we don't understand the creature we're dealing with. You can't build a house without foundations.>>593793Stop being butthurt, I already answered this one three times for you. You were outvoted, deal with it.
>>593799Well of course it isn't with that attitude.
>>593789She did not actually ask nadja to make the deal, she only said she would agree to it if she did, so that was in no way lying, even if she was trying to trick Nadja.
>>593716You ommitted that the Daemon said it was Nadja making the deal, so no candy for you. Hey Anons the whole thing is another test! If we are dumb enough to let a daemon own us, then we don't deserve to become a real witch!
>>593841>Hey Anons the whole thing is another test! If we are dumb enough to let a daemon own us, then we don't deserve to become a real witch! She already (temporarily) owns us according to the spoiler text. We don't need to worry about that.Maybe she is a daemon of cute? But Nadja will always be cute, it can't be that either.
>>593888Maybe if we make a deal we'll get CUTE POWERS
>>593803I don't have a problem with being out voted. I have a problem thinking it makes sense to ask a question with the assumption that you won't comprehend the answer.
>>593888● Witches can be hired to do a job but not hired permanently. As long as is not permanent it doesn't count. It basically counts as a job since is temporary. Is if we were tricked into a permanent service to her that we would be in real trouble.
>>593930Learning about stuff is very different from already knowing enough about said stuff to make some sort of deal, anon.
>>593952Right, and we aren't going to be tricked into permanent service to her by agreeing to this deal, whatever it is. We've been all but guaranteed that.I wouldn't mind this quest changing to daemon familiar quest if she really is a cute daemon though.>>593964The source is stupid. Go back to Mistress and ask her about it if you have no intention of agreeing here.
>>593964Yes. Many fairy tales Nadja was told warm about making blind deals. Is also comon sence in a lan were the creatures from fairy tales actually exist, even if the fairy tales aren't always accurate.
>>594015>The source is stupid. Go back to Mistress and ask her about it if you have no intention of agreeing here. The source is not stupid at all. It's literally the deal mistress is offering to the daemon. If that isn't a good example to learn from, then asking mistress directly isn't going to be any better. And we already decided that we are asking, so stop whining.
>>593789I know we have poster IDs and such over here on /qst/, and I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I still have to request that you stay anon when playing. Players should all be equal and putting on a trip breaks with that principle as well as painting a target over your head.I'm glad that you want to participate in the quest, but please continue to do so on an even and fair basis. Thanks for understanding.
>>594052Weren't you gone already? And I honestly don't care due to years of questing and irc. But if bugs you fine.
>>594048We already voted to respect Mistress's privacy. You're voting to go against that vote, with no intention of changing your mind, purely to satisfy your own curiosity. When you can satisfy that curiosity without overturning a previous decision by waiting and asking Mistress. That's why I called the source stupid.
>>594266>You're voting to go against that voteThere's an entire long as fuck conversation up there proving you wrong, and I don't care enough to go find it for you.Stay butthurt about losing a vote that isn't really going to change anything except add a small info dump I guess.
>>594096Thank you. It's very important to me a player's input is considered and judged by their words alone, not by who they are. Trips and names interfere with that. Unfortunately poster IDs have that effect as well, but those I simply can't do anything about. And yes, I ended the thread but I usually stick around for a while to see if there are questions that need answering. How long depends on my difficulty with falling asleep!
>>590591>"And so let it be known to all of the world that there is no greater enemy of Democracy and Progress than that of the witch and those who shelter them. On the honour of my family I swear there will be no end to this war until every last of these she-devils is burned to ashes.">- First General Adrianus of the Republican Army addresses the Senate after his defeat at the Battle of Talons, 303 AR>>593441>That's nice, dear.>- Unsigned letter found by the body of First General Adrianus, two days before the signing of the Treaty of Esaille.Dayum.
>>594284Unfortunately assuming things doesn't make them true.
>>594344Unfortunately whining doesn't make you right.
>>594390Unfortunately it doesn't make me wrong either.
>>594428Of course. Keep everything you say empty of content and thought and you'll never be wrong. It's a perfect strategy for you.
>>594452Works a lot better than baseless assumptions.
>>594513Unfortunately it something that doesn't work in the first place can't work better than anything.
You two are so cute
>>594563You know the best part? This is /qst/. We can literally do this all week until we make thousands of posts like that.
>>594612Well, assuming it was just you two, both of you stick to one IP, and there's no maximum posts/day limit (I don't post very much so I wouldn't know) you could do 2880 posts a day. And it takes over a week for a thread to autosage on /qst/...
>>594627Yeah but I'm not autistic enough to spend every second here. Maybe a few hours. Besides, I'm the advantage holder here, even if he makes the most brilliant rejoinder his peanut brain can come up with, I can still remind him that he lost the vote he's so butthurt about.
>>594627I don't think we could manage that much, I need to sleep.
>>594654I'm not butthurt about the vote. I'm butthurt about your inane logic.
>>594683No you're not, since judging by your arguments you either don't care to or are too incompetent to find out what my logic is in the first place.
>>594707Yes yes, nothing bad can come from asking questions. I'm tired.
Basically we had two simple orders.>>>Do this task for our mistress.>>>Don't make a deal with the daemon. And the fact we know enough fairy tales to really don't want to jump blind into a deal. That's it. The reason we had votes to find out what the letter say is that we don't have an order to don't read it. Now that the daemon wants to pressure us into a deal we should really know what the deal is in the first place. Accepting a deal blindy is something stupid no witch would do. So wanting to know what the deal is and what the price is makes perfect sence. If you guys can't undertand that, fine.
>>594877I don't think anyone was planning on accepting whatever she's offering no matter what.
>>594900Maybe the deal is to heal the Mistress daughter. Then as long as is something we can do and is not permanent, we could take it.
>>594948No. Even if it were such a thing or even more attractive, there'd still be no reason to just blindly jump into anything here.
>>595399And I didn't said that! Read the damn posts!I said that once we figure what the deal is and the price it has, we COULD take it if is to heal the mistress daughter unless it was something like permanent servitude.Honestly is like talking to a brick wall with you guys.
>>594654I'm not butthurt about the vote. I'm butthurt about your shitty fucking reasoning for voting for the option that I also voted for.>>594284You're not proving me wrong.>No, you don't understand. If SHE tells us what she wants us to agree to, then it's HER telling us so. We aren't peeking in the letter, the information isn't coming from it, it's coming from the daemon.>We delivered the message. What the person we delivered it to does with that message is not our responsibility. This is complete bullshit. When you're trying to respect the sender of a message's privacy, you don't hand over the message and then immediately ask the recipient. You especially don't do that when asking the sender is so easy.I regret clicking this thread again.
>>596633>When you're trying to respect the sender of a message's privacy, you don't hand over the message and then immediately ask the recipient. You especially don't do that when asking the sender is so easy.Because the recipient asked a question that coincidentally pertains to it. If the daemon wants to talk about it then that's between the daemon and Nadja, it has nothing to do with keeping confidence with mistress. You're just getting your panties in a bunch over nothing.
You guys both need to just make up and hug because you're clearly not going anywhere with this argument and quite honestly I'm not even entirely sure what your points are anymore.
>>597171The only point seems to be "I am right and you are wrong."So just try to ignore them
