Well, due to recent rule changes it looks like we'll be running in /qst/ from now on. Let's just see how this goes!Twitter: https://twitter.com/MercCommandArchive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Infinite+Stars+QuestOther Quests: http://pastebin.com/sYpqmWZgYou are Captain SAMANTHA WELLINGS, a newly minted captain of the Centauri Accord! It was odd not flying in your own ship. Your vacation destination, Palm Isle, was a neutral planet, similar to Earth, where citizens from all three major blocs could come and enjoy themselves. As part of the neutrality deal, weapons and warships from any of the major powers were forbidden from entering the system. Like Earth's SolSec, Palm Isle maintained its own independent defense force. Right now, you were waiting in a private suite on one of the many charter transports that regularly ferried tourists to the planet. From what you've read from the brochures, most of the landmasses on Palm Isle were large archipelagos, creating a massive amount of available shoreline for recreation. While the majority of the tourists were funneled to the publicly available beaches and islands, there was enough space that individual beach lots and even entire islands could be leased to private parties. You were currently inbound to one such island, which was leased out for the exclusive use of Accord officers and personnel. However, it was just one short ferry hop away from Palm Isle's largest island and planetary capital, Sunset Bay. Still, at least the view was great. Your suite had a massive window that gave you a front seat view of the planet. You could see hundreds of little emerald islands against the backdrop of a massive sapphire ocean. Golden beaches ringed each island that made each small landmass look like it was glowing in the sunlight. "Ladies and gentlemen, we will be landing in thirty minutes." The intercom drones in a calm, prerecorded voice. "Please ensure you have collected all of your personal belongings before disembarking."Well, you were almost there... what now?>Check up on how your crew is doing.>Check in on Carly. >Make sure you're properly packed.>Other

However, you do get the distinct feeling that Carly, Amy and Elsa would tease the fuck out of you if they ever found out. Plus, you know, you'd stick out like a sore thumb from the rest of your crew.Well, thankfully, Palm Isle boasted a pretty large and diverse shopping center, so you could definitely hop over there and grab one for yourself. Plus you'd be in their debt and you didn't like the idea of owing any of those girls a favor. Not after the LAST time...Tank, you could definitely trust. But... he was Tank.Bradford? He was trustworthy too, but a bit too prim and proper. Plus you had trouble believing he knew anything about swimsuits, much less those for the opposite sex.Scott? Probably just the safe option. The others didn't really need to know. "Attention passengers." The intercom chimes. "We will be docking with the orbital elevator shortly. Please secure your belongings and report to the disembarkation point."Crap, did that much time pass already You dig through your bag again. You had a set of casual clothes to go incognito, especially since you technically weren't on duty. But you also had your standard Accord uniform, as well. You'd have a lower profile in casual clothes, but your Accord uniform would certainly communicate a fair bit more authority. What to wear, what to wear...>Casual>Uniform>Other

>>554168Well, you suppose casual would be appropriate. You didn't really want to be flaunting your rank and everything, after all. Just a simple short sleeved shirt, jacket, and a skirt with stockings underneath. Simple and plain. With everything set, you head over to the main hall, where the rest of the passengers were waiting to disembark onto the space elevator, where they would disperse to wherever they were supposed to be going. You spot your crew among the crowd, Natalia and Scott in particular."Heeeeey, Natalia, Scott, how are you two doing?" You say cheerfully as you rope your doctor and engineer to the side."I'm sorry to say, but I don't have any 'concoctions' for you this time..." Natalia sighs."C-Captain!" Scott stammers, taken off guard."Hey, we're not on duty, so Sam is fine!" You assure your twitchy engineer. "Anyways, I kinda need a favor from you two. I'm actually short a swimsuit, and I was planning to buy one on the surface...""...so you need wingmates to back you up." Natalia's lips form an eager grin."Basically, yes." You concede."But I'm an engineer, not a fashion expert-""Scott, we need a brave, strapping young lad to accompany two beautiful women, to protect their honor!" Natalia purrs with a voice as smooth as silk, the same kind of voice she used when dissecting a test subject. She was always kinda weird like that. "U-um okay..." Scott pales, unable to refuse. "Good, then it's decided!" You nod."So, shall we do this now, or after we get settled in our accommodations?" Natalia asks slyly. >Right now.>After we get settled.>Other

>>554356>Hardlight swimsuit projected by a piece of jewelryToo lewd. Not even mentioning the potential "shorting out" if battery life is a thing.
>>554298"Let's go right now!" You say as you wave down a passing porter drone. "Can you our luggage sent to our hotel?""AFFIRMATIVE." The drone buzzes as it bends down to pick up all of your bags before shuffling off. "All right, to the store, then!" You announce as you lead your two crewmates to the space elevator's transport hub. It's not difficult to secure a ride to the planet's main shopping hub, located in Sunset Bay. There was a high speed tram line that got the three of you there in just under ten minutes. The Sunset Bay Mall was of course the epitome of modern shopping center design, being a large, multileveled structure centered around a massive central aisle. Just the sheer amount of people moving through was daunting. There had to be tens of thousands, maybe even more moving through at any one time!"Hmmm, it's quite crowded out here." Natalia observes, taking care not to touch anybody that passes by too close. "H-how are people supposed to find anything in this mess?" Scott groans as he gets pushed around by the crowd. "They read the map, of course." You roll your eyes as you check the holographic directory, which displays a map of the entire center. You filter out the stuff you're not interested in, and narrow things down to the clothing stores that specialize in swimwear. Even then, there were over a dozen stores! Everything from simple swimwear made from synthetic and even natural cloth to super exotic hard light, holographic, and nanite infused swimwear!"So many choices..." oh yeah, kinda power gamey question here, some sunscreens work by reflecting a portion of the suns radiation, could this reflective effect potentially apply to other forms of radiation basically giving sam a stealth coating if she's naked and sweaty, or maybe defray laser damage to some degree?
>>554532>Captain, we have no way to get to the surface undetected.>Just get me sweaty and then throw me out the airlock Bradford, I can do this.

>>554390Well hey, it's the current year, right? Might as well get something cutting edge! You pick out one of he closer stores, "Submerged Treasures". They seemed to be on the forefront of summer and aquatic themed clothing. A convenient holographic line projected straight to your eyes shows you the way, so you don't have to rely on memory."To think." Scott groans as he reads up on the store's bio. "These guys spend billions of credits a year on cutting edge materials tech... and then sells it of as swimwear and women's fashion?""Don't underestimate the purchasing power of women." Natalia giggles as she glances at you. "You'd be surprise how much we'd pay just to attract someone's eye!""Still seems like a weird use of resources..." "Though her immune system still isn't quite ready for something like THAT, so I highly suggest you stock up on antispetics and-""I GET IT, NAT!" Scott wails."Really? Are you sure you don't want a doctor's opinion?" Natalia smiles wryly."Artya's just a friend... that's all." Scott sighs."Hmmm, I wonder what she'll think if I tell her that?" Nat puts a finger to her chin. "If I recall, she came along with her Captain on this trip...""What?!" Scott immediately straightens up like a rail. "N-nobody told me she was coming too!""And why would it have mattered to you?" You smile. "I thought you didn't even like her!""I- well-" Scott immediately got extremely flustered. "Hey, I'm calling to report a crime in progress at the Sunset Harbor Mall." You explain, keeping a wary eye. To Scott's credit, he was doing a good job stalling the Heg tourists as he kept digging through his pockets pretending he couldn't find his wallet. You then see a masked and uniformed security officer literally drop kick one of the Heg troopers out of nowhere. Three more similarly masked and uniformed officers then drop out of nowhere, each of them taking up a silly and very impractical pose. "LAWBREAKERS BEWARE! PALMSEC IS HERE!" They all shout in unison.What. And then the surrounding crowd doesn't run or panic, they CHEER. They cheer like they're watching a goddamn stage show or something! You just look at Nat, who gives you a similarly confused but amused look. One of the officers helps a very flustered Scott up to his feet, while the lead officer who performed the drop kick shuffles up to you. Was she.. was she nervous seeing you?"Ohmygod, you ARE the Samantha Wellings, aren't you?!" She squeals."Um... yes?" You raise an eyebrow, wondering how these girls knew you. Maybe one of your old SolSec colleagues got transferred here-"Director Hawkins just won't stop talking about you!" The lead officer continues. "You're just the cooooolest security officer eveeeeer!"Wait...Hawkins...THAT Hawkins?Your old Academy roommate??!?!"Oh dear..." Natalia sighs."Who's she talking about?" Scott asks, having finally regained his composure.>I uh... kinda bullied her a bit a few years back.>The both of us got into some pretty wild shit. >I guess you could say we were rivals?>Other

>>555145"Um, how do I say this..." You blush just a bit. "Me and Luc, the both of us got into some pretty wild shit back in the day." "Wild shit?" Scott raises an eyebrow."Real party animals." Natalia nods. "Got plenty of practice for my medical tests thanks to them.""Is it true that the both of you hijacked the zero-G training room and hosted a rave party in there?!" One of the officers asked."And then you turned on the anti-grav system?" Another asks. "I guess-""And is it true you made out with the Director?! We always ask her but she keeps dodging the question!""Well-" Fuck, how much did she tell them?!!"I'm sorry, but I'm afraid we are on a bit of business, and we really have to be going." Natalia interjects, smoothly intersecting herself between you and the hyperactive PalmSec officers. A bit too smoothly. "Oh, I'm sooooo sorry about that!" The lead officer bows her head. "We'll let you go on about your business, but stop by our HQ sometime! I'm sure the Director would LOVE to see you again!"Heh... you're not too sure about that, honestly. With that, the officers take their leave, the arrested troopers in two, finally leaving you free to enter the swimsuit store. "That was an odd bunch..." Scott sighed."PalmSec certainly does have an interesting SOP." Natalia chuckles."We'll worry about that later." You groan as you enter the store, immediately bombarded by the various types of swimwear on display. >Go for something reserved and professional. >>555188>>Go for something flashy and attention grabbing. A two piece swimsuit.I want my wardrobe malfunction!
>>555214>I want my wardrobe malfunction!Given that we picked "exotic," that phrase will have a slightly different connotation.
>>555214>>555221Considering the "exotic" materials mentioned, I'd imagine hardlight flickering on and off, or nanomaterials slipping off.
>>555221>>555226Clearly there was a mistake in production, and the heat admitting materials made for diving wetsuits got made into a bikini which sam will buy
>>555188You begin to wander over to the section of the store selling the much more revealing and skimpier swimsuits, going through them to see what would look good on you. Natalia follows, as upbeat as ever, while Scott reluctantly stays close to you two, uncomfortable at being dragged into a womens' swimsuit shop."Oh my, all these selections are quite risque." Natalia observes. "Now what possibly could cause our fine and upstanding Captain to consider something like this?">Hey, I'm not a stick in the mud all the time! 'I can have, too!""I suppose there's nothing for me to say about that.""C-come on, let's just pick a swimsuit and go already!Hm, yeah Scott had a point there. You sift through your possible selections. There were neat holographic swimsuits, which you could change the appearance and color of on the fly. However, those things needed power to operate and if your onboard battery shorted out, things could get awkward. There were also experimental clothing infused with nanomachines, which could change shape, color, and even molecular composition on the fly to match various environmental conditions, but... it was still a pretty new technology, and not exactly proven yet...>Hologram>Nanomachines.>Other

You'll decide on the looks later, though. "I suppose it's time for us to go." Natalia checks the time. "We can only be gone so long before the others start asking questions."Y-yeah! Let's go!" Scott says in agreement, eager to head back to the relative safety of the hotel. Well, you guess you'll call it in for the day here.
