Hello, and welcome to Imperial Knight Quest. A few months ago I wrapped up a long story that I was writing on /tg/ and was asked to consider making a quest and have finally got around to doing so. This quest takes place a few years after my last story concludes so you may want to read it. (First thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/27693404/ Other threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Knight%20of%20the%20Realm ) So without further ado, welcome to Imperial Knight Quest.About two years ago, you distinguished yourself in the service of your King and the Imperial Realm. As a result you were awarded a rare honor, the opportunity to become a Knight of the Imperial Realm. Located in the North of the Realm, the Royal Academy of the Knights of the Realm is housed in a large keep, surrounded by strong walls. To the North and West of the keep streaches the town that supports the academy and its students. To the South lie the training grounds, including a small mock city for practice. In the East the Verun river flows south to the sea. After extensive training and testing you have finally come to the conclusion of your long journey. Take a moment to reflect on how you came to be here. Who are you? What part of the vast Imperial Realm did you come from?>Decisions will be made by general aclaim or by vote in case of a near tie.
>>492236OP, I'd rather you make those choices yknow.
>>492236So let’s start with race. What are you and where did you come from?>Human – No real advantages or disadvantages but notably are the tallest race in the land. The majority of the Imperial Realm’s population is humans and they tend to be able to adapt to any environment or region with ease. Humans tend to come from two regions of the Imperial Realm, the Realm itself or Omrachena Zemli to the Northeast, however they can come from any region, including the Kingdom of Pommes to the South.>Elf – Graceful and elegant, but often on the frail end, elves stand a full head shorter than humans but often can live about twice as long. Representing a minority in the Realms, they never the less are considered to have substantial political sway amongst the nobility due to the large number of elven family members in the Imperial Royal Family. The extent to which this is true however may vary. Elves tend to come from Albero Città or its surrounding environs, however on rare occasion may originate elsewhere.>Dwarf – Stout and powerful, but usually lack some degree of finesse, dwarves are a head shorter than even the elves but share similar longevity, living about one and a half times a human lifespan. While the decision of the Dwarven Clans to maintain a degree of autonomy from the rest of the Imperial Realm has hurt their standing amongst the nobility, the talent and skill of their craftsmen have won them friends throughout the land, particularly amongst the merchants who trade their goods. Most Dwarves come from Hammerburg, the largest dwarven city state in the Realm, although other holds are certainly present. >Other – These three are not the only races to live in the Imperial Realm. There is plenty of variety to choose from, although without being a major population, they may not be looked on fondly by those unfamiliar with them.

>>492257>>Ogre -- "The ordinary ogre is the creature for whom the phrase 'As dumb as a bag of rock hammers' was coined. In his natural state, an ogre is supremely incapable of doing or deciding anything. Clothed in dirt, he sometimes finds himself accidentally draped in animal skins after eating carrion. Not an especially social creature, he is most often found affectionately consorting with the boulders or tree-stumps he has mistaken for kin (a factor that may explain the ogre's low rate of reproduction)."
>>492257>>Dwarf – Stout and powerful, but usually lack some degree of finesse, dwarves are a head shorter than even the elves but share similar longevity, living about one and a half times a human lifespan. >>492299Won't hate you for trying.

>Wants to be a Human in a Fantasy worldWhat's wrong with you shitters?
>>492257Voting is closed.Human 3Ogre 2Elf 1Dwarf 1Human's have it.
Glad to see you back in action KotR, i'll try to join in half an hour
>>492362One moment, writing up the next part. Thank you for your patience. >>492391Thanks, its nice to be back.
>>492362Now what did you do to get here? You must have done something quite special to have earned your place here.>Warrior (Soldier) – Fighting in one of the many small wars against the barbarians and orc tribes to the North, you distinguished yourself in combat in a fierce battle against an orc and barbarian alliance. After the battle you won many accolades and after the celebrations were through, your commander took you aside to talk to you. A Knight of the Realm had seen you in combat, he said, and nominated you for candidacy in the Academy. You took your chance and set out to become a Knight.>Warrior (Guard) – Fighting against bandits within the Realm, you have distinguished yourself by saving the innocent. One day when traveling down your route, you came across a bandit raid on a caravan of travelers. You immediately joined the fray and managed to drive off the raiders. After escorting the caravan to its destination, you were approached by one of the traveler’s husband. He was a Knight of the Realm and as thanks for your valor offered you a chance to become a Knight yourself. >Specialist (Legitimate) – You don’t have money, but what you do have are a very particular set of skills, skills that make you a nightmare or a dream come true for other people. You are a talented expert in the service of your government, whether you pick locks, study obscure lore, solve crimes, or craft useful tools like alchemical potions. One day after a particularly difficult case, you found yourself approached by your superior, a retired Knight of the Realm. He offered you a chance to serve your King further by becoming a Knight. You took the opportunity and made your way here.>Specialist (Crime) – You are an… unusual case for the academy. Orphaned at a young age you were taken in by a seedy old man who trained you and other orphans to pick pockets for him. One day you picked the wrong target and found yourself a target of a Knight of the Realm. After apprehending you, the knight questioned you and after learning about the pickpocket ring set out to dismantle it and saw you into a safer home. Since then you may have fallen in and out with the law a few times but you set your mind on becoming a Knight yourself and you finally got your chance.>Mage – A specialist in the arcane arts. Mages come to the Imperial Knighthood for many reasons. For most, this is an opportunity to serve their land and they take up the challenge greatly. Others see the Knighthood as a way to gather power, as their libraries store records the most powerful spells cast in the Realm’s history. You graduated the mage’s academy already, with honors too, and had the world open to you. The Imperial Knight Academy took you in without hesitation.>Other – There are many other careers that are possible in the Imperial Knighthood. Perhaps you have one of them in mind?
>>492481>>Mage – A specialist in the arcane arts. Mages come to the Imperial Knighthood for many reasons. For most, this is an opportunity to serve their land and they take up the challenge greatly. You graduated the mage’s academy already, with honors too, and had the world open to you. The Imperial Knight Academy took you in without hesitation.MAGE-KNIGHT A GO!
>>492494>>492494FYI, Knight is a title and a position. Not necessarily a set of proficiency. You would be a wizard, with a Knighthood and a job, not a Gish.
>>492502I swear to god if we can't be a magic wielding guy in armor and robes underneath, I'mma flip my shit.
>>492481Then >Other – There are many other careers that are possible in the Imperial Knighthood. Perhaps you have one of them in mind?>You are a spell blade, you had always had the talent to fight but your parents had other expectations, after acquiring some skill in the arcane arts you have decided to become a proper fighter as knight
>>492512Pretty much this
>>492512>>492517>>492518Fine. I'll count you all as Other (Mage-Knight).
>>492517>You are a spell blade, you had always had the talent to fight but your parents had other expectations, after acquiring some skill in the arcane arts you have decided to become a proper fighter as knight
>>492481Other- Your regular knight but proficient in spells too
>>492481>>Mage – A specialist in the arcane arts. Mages come to the Imperial Knighthood for many reasons. For most, this is an opportunity to serve their land and they take up the challenge greatly. Others see the Knighthood as a way to gather power, as their libraries store records the most powerful spells cast in the Realm’s history. >>492517>>492524>Other (Mage Knight)
>>492481Voting is closed. Mage-Knights have it. Now you have other choices to make. You are moderately proficient with most weapons, but you specialized in one. What is it?
>>492565Longsword. We have magic for foes further away.
>>492575He's got a point, switching to longsword/Bastard Sword
>>492575>>492578>>492586are longswords twohanded? would make casting spells awkward.
>>492565Longswords have it. Now what type of magic do you want to use? Pick carefully, you don't get as many choices as a regular mage.>>492598No. If you picked a spear or halbeard it would be a problem, but longsword is fine.
>>492606You get one specialization and one other field that you can use as well. Attempting to use magic outside of those fields will be difficult, possibly impossible depending on what you're trying to do. Forgot to specify.
>>492606>Now what type of magic do you want to use?ElementalIllusionsand if possible, Telekinesis.Blood magic would be cool, but I don't know if it's in the setting. Will read the other threads after this one is concluded.
>>492606Manipulating metal. I think it would be rather useful in the battlefield.
>>492613>>492615>>492617>>492618So, we can specialize in Elemental Spells and have proficiency in Telekinesis? What do you say, guys?
>>492613>>492616As for a second field healing would be rather useful too. Using our metal manipulation to win duels(fight in general) more easily and our healing to get rid of fatigue and any damage we take.
Why not sound for echolocation, paralyzing enemies, muffling, deafening
>>492623This would probably be rounded, so yes.
>>492606Looks like you want evocation for your first school with telekinesis as a second choice? Any objections? I did hear two for manipulating metal.
>>492648>evocationWhat? No, we meant controlling the elements - Fire, Wind, Water, Earth etc.At least that's what I think when someone says "Elemental magic"
>>492648I think they meant like the elements of Fire,Frost,Earth like spells. But summoning elementals sounds fun too.
>>492667So elementalism then? They are different schools FYI, one can generate energy and hurl it at others. The other can manipulate elements that are already present. Which were you looking for?>Probably should have just posted a list. Give me a second to get one together.
>>492648Actually Telekinesis/Metal Manipulation seems more interesting
>>492686I'm for that combo
>>492693Count me in for this also
Guys... how about we go full telekinesis? Multi-classing always has downsides, let's just leave that for later.
>>492686I can get behind this. As long as I get muh Telekinesis I'm happy desu.
>>492686Metal Manipulation is more subtle and it fits into our fighting style a bit more. I imagined using metal manipulation to make weak spot in the enemy armor and then attacking there with our Longsword. I am all for this idea.>>492697It seems like it doesn't and besides OP said that there is a main dield and a secondary one, i don't see any bad sides to making a combo of two fields as long as they can fit together in some way.
>>492681Magic Schools:>Evocation - Creating Energy and using it to blast things. Can pick a specialized form of energy. Advanced users can basically lay cities to waste.>Elementalism - Manipulation of preexisting elements. Advanced users can summon elementals.>Healing/Restoration – Be your own healer! Can heal mortal wounds, but no raise dead. Higher ability users can make people unkillable for short periods of time.>Transmutation – The manipulation of objects natural forms. The more you change them, the harder the spell is. High ability users can teleport.>Telekinesis/Manipulation – Use energy to move objects.>Necromancy – The dead and the souls of the dead. High level users can become immortal. Typically considered immoral at best and usually illegal.>Enchantment – Manipulating other’s wills. Usually illegal as well.Vote for two. Most popular is specialization. Second is general.
>>492716>Telekinesis/Manipulation – Use energy to move objects.>Transmutation – The manipulation of objects natural forms. The more you change them, the harder the spell is. High ability users can teleport.
>>492716>>Transmutation – The manipulation of objects natural forms. The more you change them, the harder the spell is. High ability users can teleport.>>Telekinesis/Manipulation – Use energy to move objects.
>>492716>>Telekinesis/Manipulation – Use energy to move objects>>Transmutation – The manipulation of objects natural forms. The more you change them, the harder the spell is. High ability users can teleport.
>>492721>>492724>>492739This is good
>>492716Looks like its Telekinesis/Manipulation as a main and Transmutation as a second. Now for the final questions. One, is there anything else about your character that you want to establish now? And Two, what is your name?
>>492767Astrea van Reinhart. :^)
>>492767Yes.Chronic insomnia. We hardly ever sleep.
>>492777I'm for this
>>492767Name: Isebrand Denholm
>>492771Down for it
>>492777>>492780>>492789So I'll put down Chronic Insomnia. Harder to memorize your spells, but harder to be ambushed at night too.
>>492807Any other ideas before we move on?
>>492826What name did we decide on?
>>492826Hoarder, we collect every metallic object we find because it "might be useful later"
>>492841I don't think there was a full decision. I was going to use Isebrand Denholm if there's no major consensus. Translates to Iron Sword, so it fits a metal morphing swordsman.
>>492855That sounds too power ranger. How about something a bit more rash, guys? We don't need to be fancy to be fierce.
>>492855Kek i didn't actually know the meaning of the name Isebrand, what a coincidence.
>>492855So I'm going to give it a few more minutes for suggestions then have a vote for the names unless some consensus is reached.
>>492777Will change to this
>>492771I will vote Archibald to break the stalemate.
>>492883I will vote Archibald to break the stalemate.
>>492915It looks like Archibald Baker wins.Keeps remind me of pic related but I'll manage.
>>492991Alright I'm finishing up the next bit. It'll be a second.
>>492991Here we go
>>492995Here we go boys
>>492995This is the morning of what could be your final day at the Imperial Academy. Instructor Rhys has called you and your fellow senior candidates together, “Good morning candidates. You all have come far to get to today. By this evening we will know whether or not you will be a Knight of the Imperial Realm. Some of you,” and with that he looks at you with an approving smile, “have done well throughout your training and should be relatively safe. Others of you,” he continued with a glare at a young woman you don’t know that well, “need to do well on this test. For your final test you are going to be given a mission. There is no set scoring rubric, we will be evaluating you based on your own initiative and abilities. Your ability to work with a team will be just as valued as your ability to work autonomously. Both results and efforts will be taken into account too. In a moment I am going to hand you a parchment that should detail your mission. Not all of you will be given the same mission, so don’t think you can just follow the others around and leach off their efforts.”The pamphlet you are handed is a wanted poster bearing the image of Instructor Farum, here identified as one “Davian Ironfang” and promising an unspecified reward for his live capture. In the illustration, it shows Instructor Farum with a garish fake tattoo of a wolf head on his face. The pamphlet goes on to note that “Davian Ironfang” is a wanted bandit leader, is considered armed and dangerous, and is likely accompanied by other members of his gang.Instructor Rhys nods to you all and shouts, “Go grab your training gear from the armory and get going! Head to the training ground when you’re ready.”>What equipment do you grab?
>>493012>Our Armor>Our Longsword>A map>Rope>A torch>Trusty flaying knifeDo we have health/mama potions?
>>493012A Long-sword, a set of throwing knives and a shield. Armor wise, chain-mail, a shield and a kettle helmet
>>493023>Map, torch, ropeyeah we need those
>>493026This and if we have some mana potion and shit like that and some bandages.
>>493012>Armor: Chain with some Plates>Weapon: Longsword, and Heater shield, Throwing knives>Map, Rope, Knife and Dagger, Backpack to carry the shit, Rations, and money pouch.
>>493023>>493026You grab your gear, and set out. You have a training sword today, to make sure no one gets hurt in an accident, but you can use it fine. You debate a shield, as you can't cast spells with your hands full, but decide its better to have it and not need it than the other way around. The training town unfortunately doesn't have a set map, the town's features being moved around to simulate new environments, but you grab a regional map just in case. In a similar spirit of preparations, you grab a torch, rope, and utility knife, no telling how long this test will take. “Training Town” as it is popularly known is a small artificial town near the keep. None of the towns features are real, for instance the well is really just a pit about 2 feet deep with a small wall around it, but it works for training. From the town gates, you can see the main street, with all its stores. The buildings are simple ones built mostly of wood. Of note however are the signs, they have all been replaced with Orcish glyphs as part of an effort to impede navigation. When you reach the entrance mock town of the training area, you can see some of the other candidates peel off as individuals or in small groups, soon you and a few other candidates are all that are left at the town entrance. What do you do?
>>493052Get a group of your own, don't do this shit aloneFind some hot babes in the that group if possible
>>493059This No wafui shit plox
>>493072>Implying that we are going to grow actual romantic feelings for her instead of just fucking her and leaving her with our bastard as we go adventuring
>>493094>Implying we don't infuse the baby with magic to become better a magic user, so when we're killed we'll be able to play as a even more powerful Mage-Knight
>>493104>Implying we won't just do that to our trueborn offspring
>>493052You see several other students are left around you. The first you spot is the girl from the briefing who Instructor Rhys scolded. You vaguely recall that her name is Isabelle Nathanson. Isabelle is a female human who looks to be in her early 20s with brown hair and green eyes. She’s looking around nervously.
>>493115Invite her to join you
>>493115>Ask her to join our group we'll pass this mission together.
>>493115The second you spot is a human in mages robes. His name is Ivan… Ivan something. You recall him being a competent wizard, but not at all subtle. He looks to be in his 30s and has black hair and brown eyes.
>>493126>Ask him as well to join the group as well
>>493126The third is an elf woman. To your surprise she is wearing the armor of the Albero Città city guard. You didn’t think they would be allowed to keep their old equipment but here it is. She has blond hair and blue eyes, looks to be around 20, but it’s hard to tell with elves.
>>493140>Get her as well into the group
>>493115>>493126>>493140>Ask all to join
>>493140>>493149I know why Inky at lest wants her to join :^)Let's have her join too.
>>493140>You're obviously going to approach them all. I'll get to them one by one in a second. The final remaining candidate is an older dwarf. You’re mildly surprised to see him amongst you, you had spotted him talking with the instructors several times and assumed that he was one of them. He looks to be in his early 40s but again with dwarfs its hard to tell. He has graying hair and ice blue eyes and is wielding a small crossbow but no armor.
>>493159>Get the Dwarf above all others
>>493159Dwarfs are bro tier, invite him too
>>493159Get dwarven bro
>>493159>I'm just going to go through these in order here. You approach Isabelle first, she seems the most anxious about this mission and the easiest to recruit. "Ah hello Isabelle."She looks at you a bit suprised before you continue, "Are you also hunting for Instructor Far - I mean Davian Ironfang?"She nods, "I am, I was actually just wondering where to start. I was thinking about asking around to see if anyone saw him."You clear your throat before continuing,>I was wondering if you would like to work together for this mission? If we do we'll pass together.>Hey, how about you and me...?>You know what, nevermind.>Other
>>493159Ask him to join too, as long as all of them have the same mission we should be fine.

I mean, it would be appreciated. Where should we start? There's a tavern nearby where we could ask to see if anyone saw this Ironfang.""I'd actually like to look into recruiting some other friends too. After all we could be fighting a group.""That's not a bad idea.""Do you know anything about these other candidates?"

>>493236"No, but the dwarf seems like someone we would need"

>>493240Well that's good to know
>>493236I don't think order in which we ask them is that important, so yeah, lets go with the Dorf first.
>>493236"Yeah. The wizard over there is named Ivan. He's supposed to be crazy powerful, but also a bit crazy. He's an evoker specialist and thinks he can blow up the whole world on his own. I don't care for him but he would be helpful... if nothing else he can burn down the whole town. The elf I don't know a lot about. She's definitely eager to become a knight. I don't know if you heard about what happened in Albero Città a few years back before the Imperial Realm formed, but evidently the King wound up saving the city. She's been looking to join the Knights ever since. The dwarf is evidently a professor of some kind, not here at the academy though. He's definitely smart but not very adept physically. I don't know why he wants to become a knight."
>>493253>I doubt it but does this information change your intent to invite everyone?
>>493257No, the dwarf sound even more bro tier and Ivan just sounds like some Russian Chad Mage but we will still invite him.
>>493261>>493262>>493264>>493265>Inviting everyone it is.You approach the mage next, "Excuse me, Ivan...""What is it hedge mage?"You bristle a bit, hedge mage isn't the most polite term for those who aren't full mages."Well... I was going to ask if you wanted to work together to hunt down a bandit leader, but now…”“Now what? Either speak or quit wasting my time. I didn’t see anyone accompany you.”Ivan smirks at you, “No, you didn’t.”
>>493311Who is next?
>>493311As you part company with the mage, the elf walks over to you. “I can see your forming a small team. By any chance are you looking to hunt down the brigante Ironfang?” “The brigante… oh. Yes actually I am. Would you like to accompany us? We could use another soldier.”“Very well then,” in a lower voice she continues, “I see you have that mage with you. It does trouble me to see him here. He’s clearly not here for the right reasons. He’s selfish and egotistical. Do we have to have him along?”>Unfortunately we don’t know what we’re up against. You see him intently examining some graffiti written on the walls. “Excuse me… sir?”The dwarf turns to you, “Yes can I help you? Archibald Baker wasn’t it? From what I heard it’s likely to be Sir Baker soon enough, correct?”“Yes actually. I don’t think I got your name…”“Ah yes. I am Professor Manfred Vocks-Ziegler, at your service.”“A pleasure to meet you Professor. Would you be interested in helping me track down Mr. Ironfang?”“I’d love to, but I can’t . Unfortunately I have my own mission, tracking down a stolen warhammer.” He shows you his parchment displaying a image of an ancient warhammer covered in runes. “If I do find it I’d be happy to help you but unfortunately I’ll be busy until then. You might want to know however, that this graffiti is quite helpful, if you can read it. For instance, this bit right here proclaims that ‘Ironfang rules the north side!’ You might want to begin your investigations there.”>Thank you for your help>Are you sure you can’t come with us?>How about we help you find that warhammer first then you help us?>Other

>>493363> Other"Well, if anyone knows better of stolen weaponry would be brigands and we have already a suitable unit to deal with them, i'm fairly sure you would be able to find any intel regarding the location. If not we can lend you a hand in finding it after dealing with them."
>>493377There also a chance that Iron-fang is the one with the war hammer so we can try to get him to join us to him.
>>493372>>493376ThisChange it into this, and if doesn' work then just do the usual mision
>>493376>>493379>>493380>>493381>>493382"That would be... quite convenient. Ridiculously so in fact..."Roll 1d20, best of the first 3 is the final result. 1's reduce 5 from the final result. 20's automatically succeed. (Forgot to post the rules last time).
Rolled 9 (1d20)>>493390
Rolled 2 (1d20)>>493390
Rolled 6 (1d20)>>493390
>>493393>9, not successful!"Desperation doesn't become you, young man. I'll gladly help after I find my warhammer. I do apologize."
Hey, I'm going to grab some dinner really quick. Be back in a bit.
>>493411Oh well, nonetheless if we find anything about the Warhammer ourselves we should lend him a hand.
We are burning daylight. Instruct Ivan to have his helpers search the north side while we make our way in that general direction. If they don't pick up on anything duck into a bar on the north side and get some info... I assume they have mock establishments set up in the mock town??Get Izzy to do the talking. She is the most attractive and least intimidating person to use to get information from "townspeople"
>>493413Just before I leave though, how's everyone enjoying the quest?
>>493440So far so good if you ask me.I'll catch the rest tomorrow myself.
>>493440It's good, i like it.
>>493440Good so far, nice that we got the elf with us. :^)
>>493440Good so far
>>493002made me kek
>>493413>>493440Back. Updates resume shortly.
>>493390As Professor Vocks-Ziegler walks off you return to your little group to share the news. Everyone has their own ideas for how to handle it. “We should go to a tavern.” Isabella insists, “we can ask there if anyone’s seen Ironfang. Everyone makes their way through taverns eventually.”“Bah! Useless waste of time.” Ivan snorts, “My scouts have already detected that there are several people in this town with tattoos similar to the one on our instructor’s face. We should find them and make them tell us his location!”“We can also ask some of the locals what they know.” The elf, who introduces herself finally as Valeria, notes. “Locals typically don’t want criminals around them and can often be of use when tracking down a criminal.”>We’ll go with Isabelle’s plan and check out a tavern>I think Ivan’s right. Interrogating Ironwolf’s men is the way to find him.>Valeria’s probably right. We should ask the locals what they know.>(Do All) Let’s split up gang!>Other
>>493728>Other>For instance, this bit right here proclaims that ‘Ironfang rules the north side!’ You might want to begin your investigations there.”We should follow the help the Professor gave us and go to the north side.
>>493741Sorry, should have specified. You'll begin the investigation in the north side of town, but when you get there what do you want to do?
>>493744>OtherOkay, well we should get Valeria and Isabelle to ask the locals, and Ivan and us go interrogate Ironwolf's men.
>>493744>>493751Looks like you're it for now.Give me two D20 rolls, one for you and Ivan and one for Valeria and Isabelle.
Rolled 18 (1d20)>>493762
Rolled 20 (1d20)>>493762
>>493763>>493769Nice and nice. Two successes. Give me a moment to write it up.
>>493763>>493769Nice rolls anon, two teams of two worked
>>493773You walk around the north side trying not to be creeped out by Ivan whispering to something under his breath. Suddenly he points forward. “There! That man in the fur hood! Look at his neck.”You peer at him and sure enough, there is a blackish blue mark on his neck that looks a bit like a wolf head. The two of you approach him and he stares at you warily.“Whach tsu wan?”>Sir, I have a few questions for you about that tattoo and your boss.>Let’s talk about your life and where it’s going for a moment. >YOU WILL TALK TO ME!>Attack him>Other
>>493798>Sir, I have a few questions for you about that tattoo and your boss.
>>493798>Attack himI ain't about to give him a chance to run or get the first hit
>>493798>Attack himSay some threats to him to give if he doens't then attack him
>>493798>Attack!Alright. You lurch out at the man with a right hook. You could use your sword, but you need him alive and although the practice sword wouldn't kill anyone, you do need to pretend it will. Give me another d20 roll.
Rolled 15 (1d20)>>493853
Rolled 9 (1d20)>>493853
>>49385315. Success. You hit the thug and pin him to the ground. After a few minutes of shouting he gives in."Okay! Okay!" he cries shielding his face, "You can find Davian Ironfang in one of the buildings on the Stryd Coch! I don't know any more than that!">Let him go>Tie him up to keep him from telling Ironfang>OtherBTW, for future reference all D20 rolls are going to be best of 3. 1's reduce 5 from the final number, 20's auto succeed.
>>493874>Tie him up to keep him from telling Ironfang
Hey, guys. I'm going to take a break for the night. I'll be around a bit more to answer questions if you have them, but I think I'm going to crash a bit. I'll be back in the morning to continue this quest though!
>>493900What would you had done if the MC turned up to be an ogre?
>>493915No idea. I'm not sure how to write ogres well. I'd have done my best though.
>>493874>Flay him alive and wear his skin
>>493874>>Tie him up to keep him from telling Ironfang
>>493900Sorry it took me so long to get back. Got caught up with stuff today. I'll post next bit in a short while.
>>493874After binding up your prisoner, you meet back up with Isabelle and Valeria. “Good news. We found where he is. Problem is that we don’t know a lot about it. Evidently he’s somewhere on the Stryd Coch. Not sure where that exactly is though.”Isabelle smiled, “Well we have a bit of information that can help with that. I don’t know where the Stryd Coch is, but we were able to find out that he was evidently hiding in an armory somewhere while some equipment got repaired. Its name was Callahan’s and it evidently has a reputation for dealing with unsavory characters.”“Unsavory characters like weapon thieves?”“Sometimes yes, according to rumor. Did you want to find that dwarf again?”>Let’s get him on board>Nah, we don’t need him and need to focus on finding the Stryd Coch, whatever it is>Other
>>496783>Nah, we don’t need him and need to focus on finding the Stryd Coch, whatever it isBest to go for Iron Fag before he leaves or someone else get him. Finding the dwarf will take too long, and it's best to go for now. If he looking for clues he would make to the same place were going.
>>496793And we'll probably get on him good side by getting his hammer back.
>>496783>>Nah, we don’t need him and need to focus on finding the Stryd Coch, whatever it is
>>496801Well if we see a steel war hammer filled with dwarf moon runes we'll pick it up and take it to him.
>>496783“We should be good. If we find the hammer there we can give it to him.”Valeria muses to herself. “Hmm… Stryd Coch. Where have I heard that before? I think it’s one of the more archaic languages used in the Realm. Stryd means street I think… So it’s a street name?”You look at the street signs, all orcish. “I can recognize a few characters here and there. Does anyone else know how to read Orc?”Everyone looks around and shakes their heads. “Perfect. Alright let me see what I can do.”>Give me three rolls of 1d20, normal rules
Rolled 1 (1d20)>>496829
Rolled 16 (1d20)>>496831Nat 1's are always fun.
Rolled 15 (1d20)>>496829
>>496829>16-5>11 Limited successAfter what seems like hours you manage to find a series of streets that begin with Stryd.“Let’s see… Stryd Glas… Stryd Gwyrdd… Stryd Porffor… Stryd Coch! Found it!”In the light of the setting sun, you can see there is an armory down at the end of the road.“Archibald, how are we going in?” Isabelle asks.>Directly, kick in the door>Stealth, let’s sneak up to it>Scout, can you go check it out first? (Select who you want to scout it out)>Other
>>496845>>Stealth, let’s sneak up to it
>>496845“Let’s go in quietly. No need to let the whole neighborhood know we’re here.”The four of you duck into a nearby alleyway and approach the store from the rear. As you come up to it you see multiple ways of entering the store. There is a window that is on the side of the store that leads to a dark room, the back door is slightly ajar, and there is a chimney in the rear too. >Back door>Window>Chimney>Go around front instead>Other
>>496873>>Back door>>WindowLet split the group into two if Strtd trys to escape. Elf and us, take the back. And other two the window.
>>496881>>496900Can I get a few more voices than this so I can get a consensus?
>>496941my answer in is still backdoor.
>>496941My answer in is still backdoor and window. :^)
>>496941Backdoor mate. it's not a plan, but its a perfect plan

In the room beyond you can hear people startled and a voice shouting, “We’ve got company boys!”>Rush in to combat>Retreat>Other
>>497066>>Rush in to combatfuck it, just go with it.
>>497066>Rush in to combatStealth has failed, time for battle!
Hey everyone. It's mostly my fault for starting this so late today but I need to cut this short because I have work early tomorrow morning. It looks like we're getting pretty low levels of participation today anyways so I think its a good time for this. I'll be back tomorrow evening after work and class so I'll pick this up then. You can always check my twitter for updates if you need them.
>>497097catch you later.
>>496959Legion and friends?
