Your eyes opened, your body was chilled to the bone, and when your vision returned to you, you found yourself sitting in your dimly lit Saiyan Pod, your body was stiff, and your armor was covered in a layer of icy rime. Your bleary eyes slowly move to look at the console, and you are alarmed to find it completely dead. Damn it! Did the crash take out the internal systems? Where the hell did you land, anyway? Your Pod is meant to be sealed from the environment! Your memories are still kind of foggy right now. You can remember that you were sent to this planet... Onisthena II, to lead your squad on a raid mission, but the crash must've shaken your memories a bit.

You try to remember a little bit about yourself. You're Rettace, a prodigy among the Saiyans, and the most powerful warrior to ever come out of the training camps. Unlike every Saiyan who came before you, you had been given your own squad of recruits immediately. Your second in command Parzlee was something of your rival in this regard. The two of you had both left the training camps with the highest battle powers ever recorded for fledgling warriors, immediately classed as Super-Elites, your 7504 compared to her 7246. Her sister, Khive, was also in the squad, though her power was quite a bit lower than her sisters own, barely more powerful than a Saibaman at 1607. She only barely passed the 1500 threshold to become a Low-Class Saiyan warrior after begging for help from her sister.

The final member of your squad was your best friend, Scalli. He was a Mid-Class Warrior, with a power level of 3470. There had been an uproar about your squad's formation from the existing captains, outraged by the idea of a boy not even 20 interstellar years old, being given his own squad to lead. Though you weren't stupid, and though you couldn't refuse the order, you knew that you and Parzlee were given this ultra-dangerous mission in an attempt to rid the Saiyans of you both. King Vegeta himself only had a power level of 12000, and so he feared you and Parzlee growing too powerful and attempting to usurp control of the Saiyans for yourselves, as was the Saiyan way.
>>
Of course, you had no intention of dying on this mission to Onisthena II. Suicidal orders or not, you were more than ready to overcome everything that stood in your way, just as you did in the training camps. The sorcerous magic and poisons of the Onisthenians would be no different. Though you still wanted answers. You wanted to know why your flight path led you straight through a meteor swarm that did a great deal of damage to all four of the Saiyan Pods on the mission. You knew that the mission was supposed to be suicidal, but... to set your flight path through a meteor swarm was a cowardly way to deal with you and Parzlee. You hoped that it was merely coincidence, but... King Vegeta seems like the sort of man who would do anything to cling onto power. He was the first of his lineage, after all, and he had yet to truly consolidate power beyond simply being the strongest of the Saiyans.

You put your thoughts of the past aside for now, as you press the door release button on your Pod. There's no response. The crash landing must've damaged your pod more than you thought. You try to push the door open, but you soon found that it wasn't going to open unless you did something... drastic. You sighed as you smashed the door open with a kick, smashing the hinges to pieces and blasting the door and a thick layer of ice that had sealed it in place into a nearby wall in the ice cave you were in.

That's... odd. There's no entry point for your pod? You look around the cave, it was composed entirely out of ice, and there wasn't a single sign of the sort of impact you would've expected from crash landing on a planet, either. Could your pod have been carried to this cave then? No, that wouldn't make any sense. You couldn't have been unconscious from the impact for that long, could you? You were kind of disappointed in yourself that you were knocked out from the impact. A Super-Elite such as yourself shouldn't be incapacitated by something so simple as a Pod Crash!

You look around the ice cave as you pull yourself from your pod. The icy floor too slippery to bother trying to walk on, so you just hover slightly above the ground instead. You look through the cave for a while, trying to find signs of your other squad members or an exit to this cave.

After a few minutes of looking around, you finally find exactly what it is that you're looking for! A Saiyan Pod! Dented, battered, and frozen in place, but a Saiyan Pod nonetheless! The observation window was too frozen over to see who was inside!
>>
Just as you're about to pull the door off of its hinges and reunite yourself with one of your missing squad members, you hear a low guttural growling sound behind you, and you slowly turn to find yourself face to face with a savage beast over four times your size standing on six limbs, white fur and a mouth full of teeth.. The monster roared at you loudly, and you rapidly raised a hand up to tune your Scouter, fiddling with the dial on the side of the power level recorder in order to get a read on the beast.

As you finished tuning the dial, you finally got a reading. "Power level... 1400? You're one hell of a tough beast, aint'cha?!" It was an immensely powerful animal, and you could tell that the animals of this planet were likely all monsters just like this one. It was no match for you, but... if Khive fought this beast, there was a high chance of her getting injured, or even losing! You dodge away from the first strike of the monster, before looking at it while you decided how to take it out.

I like to think deception/traps/trickery

A sort of enviromentalist specialist which lays traps on his body or eviroment and goads others into triggering them, with a few punches/kicks/counters to serve as stalling measures until we can get them in the way. Though if this is too complicated a concept for play.

You formed a ball of green ki in your hand as you kept your distance from the alien beast. Your specialty attack that you worked on during your time training, and one of the reasons you were able to win so many battles even back then. You tossed the tiny ball of green energy at the monster as it swiped its claws at you once again. You flew backwards away from the monster as the ball of energy collided with its face, but unlike with most of the energy attacks used by your peers, your attack was special.

It simply... stuck to the monster which started to panic as half of its vision was obscured by a green orb which it couldn't shake off. As the creature began to panic, you clenched your fist, and the ball of energy exploded, erasing the beast's head in an explosion of green light and leaving the headless body of the large monster to collapse. You had spent months mastering the remote detonation of your own energy attacks. Culminating in the creation of the Ki Mine. While it wasn't a flashy technique, your ability to confuse an enemy by having balls of energy explode before hitting their guard allowed you to take even the most observant of enemies off of their guard, unless they were already aware of the ability, of course. Not to mention that it allowed you to set traps up to gain an advantage in a battle against your enemies.

"I hope there aren't more of those things." You mused to yourself, while you had very little difficulty exterminating a single one of those beasts, a swarm of them could likely end up overwhelming you. You don't hear any signs of activity from elsewhere in the cave, so you turn your back to the dead beast, looking at the pod in front of you.

You look at the space pod for some time, wondering if you should open it up just yet. If Khive is in this pod, she could end up being a liability you'd need to protect with her low power level. Two of those monsters would make short work of the youngest and weakest member of your squad, so you weren't sure if you should open up the pod first, or do some more scouting... though you supposed you could always just pick the pod up and take it with you until you were out of the cave.

>>What will Rettace do?

You approach the pod, blasting a ball of ki at the ice sealing the door shut before you grab hold of the two sides of the doors and start to pull. Saiyan Attack Pods are hardy machines, of course, being designed to both survive and help allow the passenger to survive impacts at high speed, usually right into the stronghold of whoever their target was. Luckily for you though, you were more than strong enough to easily tear apart practically every material you've ever come across, and Saiyan Pods were no exception to that.

With a grunt of effort, you pulled the sealed door open, the electromagnetic locks of the ship snapping as you pulled it open. You're almost blown off your feet as upon being opened, a great jet of white smoke bursts forth!

You raise your hand to your face, protecting yourself from the freezing gas jetting out of the pod, the freezing substance being blasted towards you leaving a minor frost burn on the back of your hand, turning some of your flesh red as leaving a stinging sensation on your hand before you manage to get out of the way of the white smoke.

You rub your sore hand with a frown as the last of the gas in the pod is expelled from it, leaving it safe to approach it once more, but... freezing gas? You had heard something like that was being installed onto the newer models of the Saiyan Pods, but... you did kind of skip out on learning about that part of your Attack Pod. So long as it got you from A to B, you didn't really care how it did it.

You approach the pod now that the rest of the gas had been jettisoned from it, pulling the door the rest of the way open. Your eyes take a moment to adjust to the relative darkness of the pod interior, and you see the smaller form of Khive laying unconscious inside the pod. She wasn't tiny, but... among Saiyan Women, she was definitely more on the petite side. Of course, her stature and lower power would lead you to believe that she was more meek and submissive, but Khive was quite the opposite, usually.

She wasn't waking up immediately, so you checked to make sure her heart was still beating and that she was still breathing. She was, thankfully. So you grabbed her from her pod and slung her over your shoulder. Dusting some of the ice that had stuck to her out of her short hair as you do. You started to get just a little bit suspicious about the ice now too. When you first woke up, you were coated in the stuff just like Khive was. Annoyingly enough though, you just didn't have enough experience with the Pods to know whether this sort of stuff was normal or not when landing in an icy environment.

You knew that the exit to this place had to be somewhere. It was too bright for you to be that deep in the ice cave, and light must've been reflecting into the cave from somewhere. You've not found a path deeper, or any signs of the other two pods that must've crashed at least somewhere nearby, so with Khive slung over your shoulder, you start to try to find the exit to the ice cave.

It takes about five minutes of exploration until you've finally found the exit, and you are met with a bracing blast of cool air as you emerge on a mountaintop, giving you a good look at the surrounding area. You observe just what there is in your immediate surroundings, seeing a few things of note.

The first is a large gathering of those six legged creatures. At least three dozen of them of varying sizes, the largest of which is at least twice the size of the already huge creatures. A pack alpha, perhaps? You try to tune your scouter to determine the approximate power level of the huge beast, but find yourself unable to tune it from here. You had heard that an automatic tuning system had been in development and was going to be releasing soon, but for now, the manual system was the best the Saiyans had access to. Curiously, in the center of their nest appeared to be a large crystal of ice, with something... circular, inside it? Damn it! That's a Saiyan Attack Pod!

The second was a crater, long since overgrown, but... it looked something like how a Saiyan Attack Pod crater was meant to look... something to note, of course, but it couldn't possibly be a Saiyan Pod Crater. The last mission to Onisthena was only a few months ago, nowhere near long enough for it to be that overgrown!

The third was what looked like a village, distant, but only a few minutes away if you flew, even with Khive slung over your shoulder and your speed reduced. It could be a good way to get some information on the planet, the Onisthenians were a humanoid type race, same as the Saiyans, so it's possible that they wouldn't be hostile on sight to you. Of course, you doubt that anybody in a sleepy little village like that would be able to put up much of a threat to you. Thankfully, unlike many of your fellow Saiyans, you knew that Saiyans were... not a well liked race across the galaxy, and seeing as this mission specifically wasn't meant as a conquest, you were intelligent enough to keep your tail concealed by wrapping a strip of fabric around your waist, you could likely just pass yourself off as any standard humanoid type thanks to that.

Of course, you could always just fly around in an attempt to get a better look at your surroundings...

You decide to go to the Monster Nest first, the Saiyan Pod frozen in the ice crystal over there is something that you can't risk ignoring. If another of your squad-mates is inside it, they would be invaluable to you right now, be it Scalli or Parzlee. Especially Parzlee. The two of you were supposed to be the pride of the Saiyans, a promise that the two of you had made with each other all those years ago back when you managed to draw against her in the first combat test when you first started being trained. A promise that had driven the two of you to greater and greater heights, the motivation to always be better culminating in two of the strongest new Saiyan Warriors that had ever been seen.

As you look at the ice crystal, you suddenly get the urge to inspect your Scouter. It had a hardy design, built to last decades, just like the Pod, and you wanted to make sure that it wasn't going to suddenly go on the fritz out of nowhere. Looking at the creation date stamp on the Scouter, 'Created A672'. Annoying that this was supposed to be the last model before they switched onto the new design, but what can you do? You'll just get your new model when you return successful after you complete your mission. The Queen of Onisthena was supposed to be monstrously powerful. Her level of strength was great enough that even your squad, consisting of two Super-Elites, was told to avoid her at all costs. Even more annoying was that this planet lacked a natural satellite, so you couldn't even rely on that to access the form of the Oozaru. If only there were some way to avoid needing to rely on the moon for the transformation, then Saiyans would go from a feared race of planet conquerors, to the undisputed rulers of the galaxy! Among your allies, only you and Parzlee could remain in control of yourselves during the transformation, it was a special training limited only to the Super-Elites.

Finished with your inspection of your Scouter, you put it back on, and you cycle through the vision modes on the device, switching to the information mode. "Interstellar date... 750!?" You yelled in surprise at the year. There's no way that could be right! That's a difference of almost eighty years! "Damn thing must've taken a knock during the fall." You talk to no-one in particular. Khive certainly can't hear you right now. You consider taking her Scouter off to check the date on it, but decide against it. You can't let yourself get caught up on the incorrect date on your scouter.
>>
You turn your attention back to the Monster Nest, they hadn't noticed you yet, obviously, so you started to devise a plan. Looking at the dozens of monsters as they tore apart some bizarre looking animal carcass, you realized that you could definitely use the surroundings to your advantage here. You could set up a trap for the beasts and drop half of the mountaintop on them by using your Ki Mines to detonate a pass after tricking them all into following you! That's not even to mention the damage you'd do with the explosions themselves!

You smirk as you look for the perfect place to set up your trap, flying around until you find a good enough looking pass through one of the mountaintops to set it. When you find one that is acceptable for your purposes, you set Khive down, propping her up against a rock as you release some of your power, generating a Ki Mine in both of your hands and throwing one after the other, forming another Ki Mine in the opposite hand as you finish throwing the previous. Before long, 32 of the glowing orbs of green energy are glistening in the mountain pass. While anybody with a discerning eye would be able to pick them out, not many would know what the green orbs were. Before you activate them, they are basically inert balls of physical light. Unless they destabilized them by themselves, the Ki Mines were more stable than any form of explosive weaponry you'd ever seen... Not that you often saw such weaponry on Planet Vegeta. You personally always thought that King Vegeta renaming Plant after himself was a little bit... arrogant. What if he got usurped? Would the planet just change its name to whoever was currently ruling it? Probably not worth thinking about the King's vanity.

Satisfied with your work, you start to make your way towards the Monster Nest. Forging a path through the snowy mountaintops in order to lure them back into your trap. It had taken quite a lot of energy to set up this many Ki Mines. While they weren't that expensive to create, using them to this degree was always guaranteed to get a little tiring. It took a few minutes to find a path to the six-legged beasts on foot, not wanting to give away to the monsters that you could fly. You weren't certain what sort of intelligence level that these creatures had, but there was always the chance that they would just ignore you if they believed you to be able to fly.

Soon though, you stood only a few hundred meters away from the beasts. Finally getting close enough to tune your Scouter to their presences, you notice a varying selection of power levels on the monsters. Ranging anywhere from 800 for the smallest ones, to 2500 for the largest few. Of course, the real surprise was the huge one. Whatever these beasts were, there was no doubt that the huge one was either the Pack Alpha, or their king. With a power level of 5043, this thing alone could ravage most planets unopposed! You grit your teeth, there weren't any reports of wild beasts with this level of strength just living on Onisthena! Still, as a Super-Elite, you still outclassed the huge white-furred monster, and it was your move to make.

You walked up to the savage beasts, making your presence known. "Hey! Look over here! I'm a defenseless Onisthenian! Don't chase me!" You yelled at the creatures at the top of your lungs, before with a nail, you caused a small cut on your palm in order to give the creatures a scent of your blood.

You plan worked wonders, and before long, almost all of the beasts had started to race after you, including the King! Only a few of the smaller ones remained in the nest! Excellent!

You led them back down the pass, making sure that you matched their pace and didn't run too fast. You even let them gain on you at one point, ensuring that they didn't give up on the chase. You let them believe that you were moments away from faltering, all the way until you stood in the middle of the narrow pass that you had set your trap up in, and at that exact moment you leapt high into the air, flying upwards as you looked at the hopeless beasts beneath you!

The beasts try to fruitlessly launch themselves into the sky in an attempt to grab you even now, and you are forced to hammer kick one back down to the ground with the back of your foot, before you raise your hand and smile. You clench your fist, allowing the energy contained within each of the Ki Mines to destabilize, and the ground beneath you explodes in a curtain of green energy and sparks.

KRAKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Not only does the explosion of energy decimate the monsters chasing after you, catching each and every one in the radius of the explosions, it also brings the mountains around them down on top of any of the survivors! Millions of tons of rock and rubble smash downwards onto the surviving beasts as two mountains collapse, crushing them all. You might be strong, but even you'd be crushed if you got caught in something like that. If you charged all of your energy into a single shot, you might be able to fire a shot that would destabilize the planet's core, but that didn't mean you could lift the planet.

After watching the mountains crush the monsters with a satisfied smirk, you land on the ground. You're about to return to the monster nest, until...

CRAAAAASH

The huge beast that you had assumed had been crushed by the rubble smashed all the way through the rocks pinning it with a mighty roar! Despite a few singed patches of fur, it didn't even look like it had been that harmed by your attacks either!

"It's never that easy, is it?" You sigh as you look at the giant beast as it eyed you with primal hatred. It started to charge at you with speed far greater than the colossal size of the beast would've implied it could've moved with.

You fly towards the beast as it charges at you, pretending that you're going to meet the charging monster head on, while all the while, you're actually charging a Ki Mine up in your left hand. The creature looks furious as it continues the charge, and you don't stop your charge, aura blazing around you as you charged at maximum speed towards the beast, until finally, you were close enough. The creature opened its mouth in an attempt to bite you in half, but it had fallen for your trick! Instead of actually meeting the creature, you instead flipped through the air, turning yourself upside down as you tossed the Ki Mine into the creatures mouth, before quickly writing yourself in the air. You looked down at the creature, which seemed to be coiling energy into its legs in another attempt at a leap, but you didn't care.

"Time to say goodnight." You speak directly to the beast for the first time as you clench your fist. Causing the ball of energy caught in its mouth to detonate! The monster's jaw is blown clean off by the explosion, but.. "What?!" You were unprepared for it to survive, and without further warning, the beast leapt upwards. You struggled to get out of the way of the monstrous hulk of muscle and claws, but you were too surprised, and too slow to get out of the way of one of the claws of the giant beast, earning a large gash on your left arm for your troubles.

Of course, after you had managed to mostly avoid the monster's counter attack, it was in the air, defenseless. "Damn it!" You'd had enough of dealing with the huge beast, so you formed a large Ki Mine with your right hand and threw it at the exposed throat of the monster, the fact that it was missing its jaw turned the end of the fight more into target practice than an actual difficult shot. You rarely missed with your Ki Mines anyway, precision aiming was crucial when you want to set traps up, especially if you want to do it from a distance.

Of course, for this creature, all you needed to do now was clench your first. The adhesive ball of energy had stuck right to the opening of its throat, it was going to do before it even hit the ground. "Disappear!" You clenched your fist one final time, and the large ball of energy imploded before exploding outwards with a shock wave of force and power. The resulting explosion of energy separated the creatures head from its body, and left you with a ginormous corpse. You'd taken the head of the beast, just like you did with the first one of these alien animals that you fought against.
>>
It was a surprisingly tough adversary, but... you were just being sloppy. You shouldn't have let yourself get hit there. But... all things considered, you don't think you did pretty badly against a creature with raw power great enough to rank it at such a high level. You imagine that you would've been quickly overwhelmed by the resilient hide of the beast and massive physical strength had you attempted to fight against it physically. Something to keep in mind, you suppose. The Scouter wasn't an all-knowing threat detecting device. It could only give a basic summary of the relative threat represented by a given target in the state it views them again. Seeing as some alien races had the ability to transform, Saiyans included, the device was far less useful than it first seemed. Especially having to manually tune it to determine a power level, that was just a pain in your ass.

You stood atop the smoldering body of the giant beast, and you realized you were getting kind of hungry. While it wouldn't exactly be feasible to just carry the huge beast with you, it would be quite possible for you to keep this body fresh while you dealt with things. You drag the heavy body of the beast towards the whole it had emerged from before you found a big rock to cover the hole with. When you'd gotten the other Saiyan Attack Pod out of the ice, you had every intention of having them help you lift the monster out of the pit so that it could be prepared and eaten.

You looked in the direction of the nest, and then the area you left Khive. There were a few of the monsters left at the Nest, and Khive was still total dead weight. You could see her from here, the scouter giving a weaker reading for the unconscious woman. Of course, it would save less time if you took her with you, and the weather on the top of the mountain must be pretty dreadful for a sleeping person to cope with. Though it's not like you really had much in the way of cold resistant clothing either.

You'll take Khive with you, even if she's safe where you left her, you're the squad leader, and you all need to stick together. You aren't going to take any chances, especially not when beasts as powerful as that white haired alpha are around the area. You think that you managed to wipe out the majority of them, but the potential for there being another nest of the beasts in the area isn't something you can discount. Clearly though, whatever those things are, they are the apex predators of this part of the planet. It's easy to see why too. The leader of that group was powerful enough to hurt even a Super-Elite! If you were less careful, you might've ended up being swarmed by the monsters and overwhelmed! Of course, that wasn't likely. As a Super-Elite, you were confident in your ability to deal with a bunch of brutes like that, they couldn't fly, so your victory was practically assured from the start. Maneuverability is key in fights against enemies like this, and an enemy that can't fly is... well, not exactly a challenge in that regard. You were just taken off guard by the leg strength of the Alpha.

Putting aside your last thoughts of the now dead Alpha, you look up towards Khive, flying towards the boulder you propped her up on. You set down on the ground as you approach the girl, the snow was crunching underneath your boots, and the girl stirred a little. "Parzl...?" She called out the name of her sister, and you felt a little guilty. She wasn't conscious yet, but this was a sign that she was close to waking up.

"Up we go!" You grabbed the girl by the waist again and slung her over your shoulder once more, she didn't stir much after you did that, Khive was Parzlee's twin, which was why it was such a mystery to everyone why the two of them had such inconsistent levels of strength. They weren't identical of course, but it was still quite strange regardless.

With Khive over your shoulders, you fly towards the monster nest once again, throwing a few Ki Mines at a few of the remaining beasts and blowing them away before landing. The area was completely clear, and the only people remaining were you and Khive, as well as whoever was still trapped within the ice crystal.

Looking at the ice crystal, you do a few calculations in your head as to the destructive force required to destroy it, but at the same time, ensure that the Pod inside of the crystal remains relatively undamaged. It was a simple matter to destroy it after calculating the power needed in your head, and after an explosion of energy, you were left staring at the Attack Pod, but just as you approached it...
>>
"Stop right there, trespassers! You're trespassing on sacred ground!" A voice called out behind you, and you sighed. Looks like somebody must've taken notice of the noise caused by the mountain collapse earlier. What a damn annoyance. You turned around to look at the man speaking, and you found yourself looking at a varied group of humanoids, all with a variety of skin tones, some had shades similar to your own, while others had green, red and yellow skin. Some of them had horns protruding from their heads too. "The punishment for this crime shall be decided by the queen!" You frown at the man, slowly raising your hand to your scouter in order to determine his power level, and you almost do a double take when you discover just how powerful he is. The readout on the scouter showing 7320! The underlings surrounding him were all far weaker though. But even so, they were still roughly in the range of 1000-1400 each!

The man in question was wearing a primitive looking armor, and carried a sword on his waist, he was one of the hornless ones, but his skin was red. The idea that such a primitive race without access to any form of technology could have fostered such powerful warriors was incredible! You were getting excited at the prospect of facing such a powerful opponent, but... with Khive here, still unconscious, it was almost certain that she wouldn't survive a battle between you and this man as well as his underlings.

>>What will Rettace do?
>Surrender, ask the man to take the Pod as well.
>Grab the Pod and flee, you should be faster than he is!
>Use a thrown Ki Mine to cause a distraction to flee with!

Right, potential countermoves.

Draw him forwards, keep him close as we dodge and counter strike. We'll have to disarm him of his sword of course but this is doable.

Lead him closer to the pod, maybe rip it open and step to the side to hit him with a blast of the icy chill before using the pod part we pulled open to try and bludgion him to death.

Another option is retreat via backflipping away and keep setting Mines as we place our hands on the floor.

If we can test his physical strength and see he cannot fly, perhaps we can lift him into the sky and toss him higher, firing off Ki blasts as he does so. But lets save this, and the fact we can fly for a while later.

I also admit ignorance on DBZ shit and the saiyans culture beyond "Crush the weak, have a good scrap" so I can't even suggest a proper weapon for them. Instead, my proposition is thus.
A pair of curved sickles, like a hand held scythe, which may connect at the handles with eachother, by slotting together or by [energy?] ropes to make for a psudo-nunchuk.

"I came here to free my partner who is trapped in this ice. Trapped so cruelly inside their own pod just like I was." You point a finger at the man. "Stay back as I do so, but... if you aren't willing to listen to my words, and would seek to part me from my comrades then I challenge to to a single duel with our pride as warriors on the line! You'll spare your underlings the meaningless deaths they would otherwise suffer in the ensuing battle.

"I can tell that you're strong, but... that pod. If you're saying that you emerged from something similar, then I'm afraid that I can't allow you to open this one too." The man warned you as he pulled his blade out, and you looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Hmm? Whatever reason could you have for denying me a reunion with my comrade?" You were kind of annoyed already, and you were already starting to think of this guy as potential stress relief.

"So, you're unaware of the prophecy?" The man sounded confused.

"I'd appreciate if you stopped talking like I am supposed to know what the hell you're talking about, I only know of one prophecy, and I don't think we're talking about the same one here." You started to charge a Ki Mine underneath your left foot, using your feet as a way to have the ball of energy stick into the ground without anybody noticing what you were up to. You didn't get many opportunities to project Ki from your feet, but there was really nothing altogether difficult about the concept. They could be used to just as much of an effect as your hands and mouth for projecting Ki from, they were just a bit... unconventional, and unexpected too.

"As you wish. But the prophecy I speak of related to events that occurred nearly a century ago now. A pod like the one you're attempting to open descended from the heavens, and out from it came the hero. He had no memories of his past life, so it was assumed he was a warrior sent from the gods in order to slay the queen and liberate the planet from her rule... he went on a great journey across Onisthena and ended up slaying thousands of the Snake Queen's men before finally approaching her palace. The two of them fought for almost a day, before... well, at some point, the Hero was woo'd by the queen, and she ended up taking him on as her consort."

"So what?" You really didn't get what he was talking about here.

"So I am wary of the three he told me of on his deathbed, my Father was the strongest man I knew, and apparently, his memories had recovered sometime before he passed away. In his last moments, he told me to be wary of the others of his race. The tailed ones, known as Saiyans." Wait a second...!

"Your father!" You call to the boy. "His name, was it... by any chance... Scalli?" The boy frowned immediately as you said those words.
>>
"He said that you'd know him by that name, yes... but he took another before his memory returned." The red skinned man got into a fighting position now, drawing his blade and pointing it at you. "Put aside your friend, and we will do battle, may the best man win." You comply with his offer to put Khive somewhere safe, and you prop your ally up against the side of the Saiyan Pod before returning to your position before. "I am Sycam! Son of Redwo!"

"I am Rettace, son of Izebarg! You yelled your name out in response to his own introduction, and the two of you charged at once another.

>>What will Rettace do?

You and Sycam charge towards each other, both going maximum speed in an attempt to overpower the other, but a few moments before you meet him, you stop dead in the air, drag your foot along the ground, and put a great deal of power in a kick, sending up a small avalanche of snow and stray rocks to shower and blind Sycam with!

He stops his charge as he sees the approaching avalanche forms, but all is going according to your plan, you form a small but powerful ki blast in your hand and send it into the sheet of descending snow, right at Sycam!

Not only does it detonate when it strikes him, but it also evaporates the sheet of snow, turning it into a dense cover of fog! While this would normally be a difficulty for you, your scouter was still locked on to Sycam! Meaning that you still had a read on his location, and he had no idea where you were! You could see his rough outline on your scouter as you snuck around the fog, but...

"You think that this fog will stop me from finding you?!" Sycam suddenly powered up, and as his aura flared around him, the cloud of steam was blown away, leaving him with a clear view of... absolutely nothing. You'd already managed to sneak around the warrior, and while he looked for you in front of you, he wasn't looking behind him!

You grabbed hold of both of Sycams legs, forcing him off of his feet as you lifted him up from the ground, prepared to toss what you can only assume is a Half-Saiyan into the sky, however, it seems like Sycam was just a little bit too strong for that plan to work, and before you could throw him into the sky, he suddenly flew straight upwards like an arrow! Forcing you up with him for a time before you are forced to let go of the boy! You don't quite know why you're calling him a boy, his appearance would indicate that he's at least as old as you are, but... if he truly is Scalli's son, you doubt you'll ever be able to see him as anything other than a boy. You feel a pang of loss knowing that Scalli had died, and you knew now that there was no hiding from the truth. You had been frozen in your pod for the best part of a century. Your father was dead. Your mother was dead. The rest of the Saiyans you fought with other than Parzlee and Khive were dead. Even the King was dead. It was a sobering thought, that your return to Planet Vegeta would only be met with confusion and questioning, rather than the glory that the completion of your mission should've brought you. Of course, now so many years had passed, you realized that your mission was effectively pointless now anyway. What you needed more than anything else right now was a way off of this planet... or at least you would after kicking this boy's ass.
>>
You raised yourself to the boy's level in the sky in order to look him in the eye, of course he'd learned how to fly. "You're not bad, Sycam. I can tell that your Saiyan heritage is serving you well. But... where is your tail?" You questioned the boy as to the lack of a tail, and he shook his head.

"That thing? It's nothing but a detriment. I cut it off every time it grows anew, the amount of times I've nearly lost a fight because the damn thing got grabbed by an enemy isn't something I enjoy thinking about." Ah, of course. He never received the special training you had, not to mention that this planet is without a moon. Of course he'd not see the point of keeping it!

"A shame, did your father not train you to resist the shock? Or did he not teach you the true purpose of a Saiyan's tail?" That damn bastard. You might've been Scalli's best friend once, but you simply have no idea what sort of a man he ended up becoming while you slept in the ice.

"He was the one who suggested I cut my tail off, actually." Damn it Scalli!

"A shame." You got into a fighting position in the air, taunting Sycam into attacking you, but he was hesitant. He'd clearly learned from your last exchange how powerful you were, and though he was close to your level of strength, it's unlikely he's used to fighting opponents that were as tricky as you were, especially not when they were actually above his level.

"Scalli has failed you as both a parent and as a mentor. Though I'll give my old friend the benefit of the doubt and excuse him for his lost memories. Now! Let's see how that your father taught you how to dodge!" You throw a Ki Mine at Sycam, and he dodges it with ease. Then you throw another at the red skinned boy, which he dodges as well!

"You... how... dare you?!" Sycam sounded like he was getting mad about your insulting of his father, but that was good. When an opponent lost their temper, it was all the easier to control them and lure them into traps. Forcing them to make mistakes by causing them to lose their cool, making them forget whatever training that they had been given through anger alone. It was a devious technique, and something that served you well when you sparred with fellow Saiyans. While it was a known fact that Saiyans could raise their strength somewhat through bursts of anger, the strength boost wasn't significant enough that it allowed them to make up for the loss in fighting technique! "HYAAAAAAAAAARGH!" A reddish black aura suddenly formed around Sycam as he continued to power up.

There was clearly something different going on with Sycam here, and your Scouter suddenly started going wild! You lost your readout of his power! You continued to throw Ki Mines at Sycam as you back away from him, but he just easily dodged each of the strikes as she sped towards you! "What speed!" You completely taken off guard by the sudden burst of power! You had barely even had the chance to throw twelve of your Ki Mines before he was upon you, and he was relentless in his assault!

He landed a punch square in the middle of your gut, causing you to cough up blood as pain wracked your body, and your armor was about one of the only things that protected you. The durable armor had managed to save your life, but the armor itself was in a bad way. The punch had managed to break a hole in your armor, leaving your undersuit exposed! If he'd struck with his blade instead, you would've been impaled, without a doubt!

Sycam stayed like that for a while, as his flicker of power suddenly disappeared, bringing his level of strength back to a level below your own. "You're better than you have any right to be, boy, but...!" You recover from the painful strike quicker than he recovers from his burst of rage, and you kick him in the side, causing him to go hurtling through the air.

Of course, that wasn't where your attack ended, and before he'd managed to slow himself down, he collided with the target you had in mind! One of the floating Ki Mines! He started to recover, but he simply wasn't fast enough to avoid what you had in store. "Convergence Mine!" Shouting out the name of your attack, you had every one of the mines you had managed to fire speed towards the location of the mine that had adhered to Sycam!
>>
"What the...?!" The boy didn't even get the chance to be surprised before he was covered in the glowing green orbs, and you raised your fist.

"This is over!" You clenched your fist, and an explosion of light engulfed Sycam, sending your opponent hurtling down to the ground, smoke rising from his body and pieces of his now destroyed armor falling off of him as he fell.

You coughed up some blood as you touched your own injury. The gash on your arm from the monster earlier was mostly superficial, but this punch did some real damage to you. By the time you returned to the ground, you noticed that Sycam's underlings had surrounded his body. You could hear groaning from within the circle of men. Looks like Sycam had managed to survive the blasts. Good. You hadn't put in as much power as you could have, just to avoid potentially killing your best friend's son. Even if he was a traitor, you could forgive him, if he'd lived decades on this planet without his memories as a Saiyan, could he really be blamed for preferring his new world if he got them back decades later?

You returned to the pod, and to Khive. The Pod could only belong to Parzlee with what you know now, and you're happy that you'll shortly be getting your second in command back. But you look at the underlings surrounding Sycam, wondering what you should do about them...

You decide to ignore the Onisthenians. Outside of Sycam, none of them are a threat to you. They might be able to threaten Khive, but they probably knew that if they did that, you'd slaughter them all without mercy. You clench one of your hands and allow the existing undetonated Ki Mine to dissipate harmlessly. No sense keeping it around anymore. You return to the Saiyan Pod, this time careful upon opening it, keeping your head and hands out of the way of the jettisoned freezing gas as it bursts out of the pod.

Inside the pod, you see just the person you were expecting, Parzlee. Her sleeping form resting upon her long hair which framed her beautiful face. You smile upon seeing your second-in-command once again, and reach into the Pod to lift her out, much like you did for Khive. However, much unlike Khive, Parzlee's eyes bolted open the moment you touched her, and she grabbed your hand before using her other hand to blast you out of the pod. The unexpected attack from your underling causing you more surprise than it actually hurts at all.

"Well, good morning to you as well, Parzlee." You quickly recover in the air and float in front of the now open Saiyan Pod. Certainly not the worst she's ever been upon waking up, but... it's a good defense mechanism to have. Especially for a female Saiyan.

"My head feels like crap. What sort of landing do you even call that?" She sounded like she was in pain, and was quite frustrated as she pulled herself out of the pod.

She doesn't know that. And I'd rather she not have a mental breakdown so soon after waking up.

If Sycam gets back up to rumble a bit more, I want her reflexes and actions to get to safety or fight unclouded.

That is a point however. We were sent here to raid, but raid what?
If we plan to return to planet freeza then we cannot return empty handed.

I would assume treasure, maybe?
Valuable resources?
Iunno, maybe QM will tell us.
Also why would we want to work for Freeza?
>>

We don't. He's dead according to our estimations of his lifespan.
But it is natural to want to return to our home, to our people. There is no glory to be had now, our mission is long forgotten and probably written off as a successful assassination but if we wish to return home then we must act as though the mission is still as it was.
A bloodied nose is no reason to quit and go home without what we came here for.

If we don't wish to return home, then I don't know what else to do. Rettace seems to be a man of resolve and battle honour, so it is my assumption he would wish to complete his task and go home.

"We can talk about the crash later Parzlee, right now though, I need you at your best. Are you hurt anywhere? No injuries from your landing?" You want to make sure that your strongest ally is in good condition, this planet is full of beings far more powerful than you had first believed it to be. The scouting report mentioned that only the Queen herself would be able to pose a threat to a Super-Elite, but that report is now decades out of date. You find yourself wondering about the years that had passed once again, of the current state of Planet Vegeta. Or Plant, depending on who you asked. The Tuffles hadn't exactly accepted the Planet being given another name, but they weren't exactly the sort to do much about it, and they still traded with the Saiyans if the Saiyans offered them rare resources found off-world. Their technology was invaluable for the Saiyan's continued existence. Gathering of rare resources was the point of your raid here on Onisthena, the Queen's Palace was apparently built atop a rare green metal that the Tuffles dubbed Orochalcum, it was both nearly unbreakable and could absorb and amplify a tremendous amount of energy and be used to redirect it! If you could get your hands on that metal, it would revolutionize weapon, ship and armor creation!

"Injuries? Who do you think you're talking to, Rettace? I don't have a scratch on me!" She hovered out of her pod, dusting the thin layer of frost off of her body. "A little cold though." She looked around to see the windy mountaintops, and her eyes narrowed when she saw Sycam being carried away by his underlings, she raised a hand to blow them away, but you shook your head. Parzlee hadn't been given a Scouter, they were expensive pieces of tech, after all.

"Don't. The boy being carried away is somebody I've taken an interest in, I'd prefer not killing him if we have the chance." There's a part of you that wants to recruit Sycam and have him assist you in your future battles. To have such a high battle power already, not to mention when his power surged and he overwhelmed you, he was clearly something special.

"As you wish, boss." Parzlee lowered her hands before she set down on the ground, looking at Khive with concern in her eyes. "How is she? Did she get hurt in the crash?" Despite how some Saiyans treated their siblings, Parzlee cared a lot about her weaker twin sister. Oftentimes going out of her way in order to ensure that she was alright and that she wasn't struggling. It was really all because of Parzlee that Khive was even given the opportunity to become a Saiyan Warrior in the first place. You wonder if you'd still be more powerful than Parzlee if she hadn't needed to spend so much of her time to ensure that her sister was getting strong enough...

"Not hurt, not that I can see. I think it's just..." You look at Khive, and suddenly, the girl blinks her eyes open, immediately raising her hand to her head and groaning.
>>
"Ugh..." The girl groans as her eyes focus, and she suddenly realizes that both you and Parzlee were staring at her, and she got a little embarrassed at the attention. Unlike her Sister, who was wearing a green armored battledress, Khive had taken after your example in dressing herself. Wearing similar colored armors to yours and even copying your method of hiding her tail with red cords of fabric tied around her waist. "You guys... did you drag me out of my pod...? Ah darn it, did I get knocked out from the crash?" She sounded disappointed in herself, but you shook your head.

"The crash knocked us all unconscious for some time, I believe." You were still wondering whether or not it was worth telling your allies about the fact that decades of time had passed since you were frozen. Neither of the two had scouters, so it's not like they'd know unless you decided to tell them, but they'd find out eventually anyway.

"Well... where's Scalli then?" Parzlee joins in on the conversation, wondering about the location of the fourth member of your squad. Sycam's followers had nearly disappeared off into the distance by now too, so you at least wouldn't have to worry about a rematch with the boy just yet. You should get a little stronger when you finish recovering from your injuries too!

"He woke up before us, raised a family, and died... his son is... something respectable, on the level of a Super-Elite, and not even properly trained." Sycam is indeed incredibly powerful, and you had already started to wonder if it would be a possibility to get the boy to embrace his heritage as a Saiyan and join you on your journey across the galaxy. You didn't exactly know what you were going to do when you returned to Planet Vegeta. If the King's descendant was still on the throne, you imagine you would challenge him after revealing the crime of his parent or grandparent. While you didn't exactly desire the throne yourself, you didn't really want to allow his crime against you and your comrades to go unpunished, even if he's already dead. You'd need to get more powerful before challenging the king though. You'd need to at least double your power level before you'd feel comfortable facing even his descendant. If their strength is anywhere similar to the King Vegeta you remembered, then you wouldn't be able to defeat them as you are right now. Even with Parzlee's assistance.

"His... son?" Parzlee sounds incredulous at your words, of course she would. It's not exactly going to be easy to inform your allies that you've been frozen for nearly eighty years, but... you can't keep them under the impression that the home you'll be returning to after finishing up on Onisthena will be the same as the one they remembered.

"That's right, Parzlee. We were all... trapped in our pods for nearly 80 years. Scalli woke up earlier than us, but he'd managed to lose his memories, so he never looked for us. Eventually, his memories returned to him, but by that time, he'd already grown accustomed to life on this world, and he never went out of his way to wake us up himself." It felt like a betrayal, but you couldn't bring yourself to feel that angry about Scalli's actions. By the time his memories were recovered, he probably considered you and the rest of your squad dead already. Perhaps that was why he told his son all about you. Perhaps it was guilt towards the friends he thought were dead but never confirmed himself? Of course, he did seem to fear the idea of you acting like... well, like Saiyans did towards the planet. But right now, you didn't even know if it was worth it. It's not like you can still complete your mission. You didn't even have a way off of the planet right now. All of the Attack Pods have just been totally busted, and this planet was supposed to be fairly low ranked in the technological development department, and a good thing too. With the levels of strength you've encountered so far on the planet, the Onisthenians could easily go on to become a galactic power!
>>
"I... Damn." Parzlee doesn't look like she knows how to take the news, however, Khive seemed a little more upbeat.

"Well, we can't just give up because we lost a few years, can we? All three of us are still alive, and we're not hur-" Khive suddenly takes a look at you, the gash on your arm dripping blood and the bruise on your chest a nasty purple. "Rettace! You're injured!" Khive sounded worried for you, but you waved away her concerns.

"Ah, this? Don't worry, I've had worse in training, it'll heal. Shame about my armor though." You resented having your armor damaged, especially when there wasn't a way to easily have it fixed or replaced. You'd just have to deal with your damaged armor for now, you supposed. "If you're all alright with continuing to follow me as your squad leader with that news in mind, then we need to go and find shelter for the night. I've heard that Onisthena's nights are far too cold to stay without shelter, I've also got a huge beast that I'd like some help with carrying to wherever we decide to set camp." You've got enough knowledge that skinning and cooking the beast shouldn't be that difficult if you actually had a fire.

"Alright, you're the boss." Parzlee still seemed uncertain about things, but Khive seemed chipper and upbeat, not voicing any objection to your suggestion.

You then had to decide whereabouts you wanted to set camp up... while you and Khive hid that you were Saiyans under normal circumstances, Parzlee normally didn't. At least not to the same degree, she just kept her tail normally obscured by her long hair, so you wouldn't be able to see it unless you were specifically looking for it. Then again, it's unlikely that these people will know what the tail even means about you...

Also had an idea for a Ki blast. Since we can project Ki with our feat, we could use this to pull of some incredible maneuvers or attacks. The first that came to my mind is basically using it to suddenly redirect or charge into an enemy, which would make for an incredible opening move for any number of manuvers. Like say, planting a giant ki mind directly on their chest

Oooh good idea, use the blast to disguise the mine. You have the makings of a BRILLIANT SCIENTIST
>>
>>4915771
I was the one to suggest a deception based style.

Anyway, speaking of that, we will want to try and figure out how to devise new Ki techniques. Possibly extend off of our Mine creation, like a ki net or something of that nature.

If our entire style focuses around a single technique, we will be easy to counter by any semi-intelligent foe with the knowledge of our favoured tool.
>>
>>4915792
Couldn't agree more. All the "weird power" characters in the show got fucking reamed cause all they had was a gimic. Unconventional tactics/ trickery requires a varied deck to play with.

Rettace would be the motherfucker who runs an all color pie deck in magic, is what I'm saying.

Perhaps we could make a kind of Ki whip? lots of things you can do with a whip, especially in anime
>>
>>4915797
Whips could do something, electrifying/energised lines/ just cause grapple lines, Ki mines that explode our into net-configuration to entangle perhaps.

If we can figure how to make our ki "sticky" then spike traps and other such things are in view. But this is all speculation for later.
Bouncing knives are also a good one.
>>
"Alright, we'll set up camp in the ice caves near these parts for tonight." You make your decision fairly quickly, among your peers, it wasn't just your strength that you were feared for, but your sharp mind. Among Saiyans, superior intelligence was generally looked down upon by the strong, but in most cases, that was because the more intelligent Saiyans were... well, less physically gifted. Unable to use their superior intelligence to assist them in a battle. You however were quite unlike those Saiyans. Using your intelligence in combination with your strength in order to create a greater warrior. It wouldn't be easy, but you felt like you could take down a foe who was more powerful than you if you were given the opportunity to make a plan of attack. You also had a great deal of skill coordinating team attacks. Though unfortunately, with Scalli out of the team, you're missing your long ranged specialist. "Khive, can you go and fell a few trees and drag the logs back to the cave up there?" You point to an opening up high.

"Of course, Rettace!" She quickly accepts the order and goes to fly off, but you put a hand on her shoulder before you can.

"Stay away from any large wildlife that you see. You don't have a scouter, so you can't tell yourself, but the creatures on this planet are stunningly strong. It's really a wonder how there are people alive on this planet at all, without any sort of technology to keep such powerful beasts in check." You knew for a fact that a beast like the one that you slew before facing off against Sycam would've been more than enough to bring the average planetary backwater to its knees, possibly ending with the race in question surrendering a continent to it and hoping it never strayed outside of that area.

"I'll stay away from anything that looks like it could be trouble!" Khive quickly follows your order, before she turns around and flies off, this time you don't stop her, and you watch as she disappears towards the forest. You're a little worried about her, as silly as that might sound for a Saiyan. You've already lost one of your squad members, unusual though his death was, he was still gone. You really didn't want to lose a second teammate. The sentiment was clearly shared by Parzlee too, as she looked a little bit worried for her sister as the two of your went and retrieved the body of the hulking beast from the hole you left it in before dragging it into the caves.

"So, what do we do now, boss?" Parzlee leaned against the body of the beast while you waited for Khive to return, and you sighed.
>>
"I don't know yet, Parzlee. We're going to have to find some way off of this planet at some point, and with our Pods all busted like they are, we're going to either have to hope one of us bothered to learn how to fix the things in training, or that somebody on this backwards planet knows how to repair Tuffle-tech spacecraft." Being stranded on this planet wasn't exactly your idea of a great time. Even if you knew that the beasts here would make for excellent opponents for training for the three of you.

You heard a crashing noise outside, and are greeted with the sight of Khive standing atop two large tree trunks that she had felled from the forest. Enough wood that you could build a fire that wouldn't just last the night, but would last for several days. "I didn't run into anything, though I almost managed to run into a bunch of the natives, I managed to slip away without them seeing me." She sounded pleased with herself, and you gave her a thumbs up.

"Good job, Khive, we'll get you reclassified as a Super-Elite in no time at all with that attitude!" You smile at the Low-Class girl, and she smiles back at you. The Class system was newly introduced among the Saiyans, and while it wasn't set at birth, there had been talk of doing such a thing, measuring the strength level of children at birth and sorting them into classes based on that and that alone. It faced strong opposition from some of the more experienced warriors though, but a lot of the younger upstarts supported the notion. "Now, help me and Parzlee drag this wood inside the cave, I'm going to collapse some of the entrance in order to prevent the wind from being as bad."

You spend the next few minutes maneuvering the logs into the cave, smashing the trunks into smaller chunks when you had to, but soon, you had all of the wood inside the cave, and you threw a Ki Mine up at the ceiling of the entrance after calculating the destructive force you'd need to collapse the majority of the opening. With a clench of your fist, the mine exploded, bringing down a sheet of icy rubble atop most of the entrance, leaving a smaller hole about twice your size that could be used to enter and exit.

With that out of the way, you returned to the part of the cave just outside Khive's pod. Parzlee had already started a fire with the logs, and Khive was busy working on dismantling the large creature that you slew. Skinning it with a thin blade of Ki that she was projecting from her hand... interesting technique.

"Khive, stay here and keep preparing the animal." You suddenly start to walk towards the entrance to the cave. "Keep an eye on the fire too. Parzlee, I want you to come with me... you've made sure the cave is clear of any more of those beasts right?" Before leaving Khive to her own devices, you just wanted to make sure that there weren't going to be any nasty surprises in stock for Khive. You feel like you might be coddling her a little, but it's fine. Tomorrow, you'll have everyone train as a group, and focus on raising Khive's battle power. You might even see about helping her with that Ki Knife technique she seems to have developed. The ability to form your ki into a cutting edge like that is a rare and hard to develop skill, after all.

"Of course, there was a path I found that lead deeper into the cave, but I just threw an energy ball down it and collapsed the tunnel. If there's anything living down there, it's going to have to find another way up to us." Parzlee said with a hint of pride in her voice, and you smiled at her good thinking. While those beasts are powerful enough to burrow through the earth, you highly doubt they'd be fast enough at doing so that Khive wouldn't be able to get out before they had a chance to ambush her.

"Good thinking. Now come on, we're going to go and grab your pod. I've had an idea, and it would be better if all of the Pods were kept together anyway. We might even be able to get one of them into some semblance of a working order. All we need is one working ship and then one of us can go off world and get something large enough to allow the rest of us to be taken!" You really weren't sure about your abilities when it came to creating a space-worthy vehicle, but you suppose you could always test it out underwater. That's about the same sort of environment as outer space anyway. At least when it comes to it being difficult to survive.

"Of course, boss." Parzlee followed you out of the small-ish hole you made to enter and exit the cave, and started flying behind you as you returned to where her Pod was left, though you slow down a little in order to fly next to her in the air before matching her pace once again.

"You're holding up alright, aren't you? I've noticed that you've been acting a little... out of it. Ever since I told you about the truth of when we actually are and what happened with our Pods, you haven't exactly been acting... well, like your normal self." She's normally quite reclusive despite her power, but she never allowed herself to appear so visibly worried before the crash.
>>
"I'm fine, really. I'm just a little shaken by the whole thing with the crash. I still have Khive, at least. Meanwhile... you don't have anyone. Even Scalli is gone." You frown at the reminder of the death of your best friend, but you can't exactly feel bad about it. Unlike almost every Saiyan to ever exist, Scalli sounded like he got to live to old age and die peacefully. It's a fate that the more bloodthirsty Saiyans would resent having occur to them, but they didn't seem to realize that there was no honor in dying in battle for the sake of dying in battle.

"I know that, but... well, we're Saiyans, and we're a squad. The three of us still have each other, and that's enough for me. Even if Scalli is gone, it sounds like he died with a smile on his face, which is more than most Saiyans get." You suppress your true feelings about the death of your best friend. You could see a lot of Scalli reflected in his son Sycam anyway. Strangely, it felt like the man you once trained with was still alive, in a strange way. Even though Sycam looks very different to his father on account of his Onisthenian features, he still has a spark in him that reminds you of his father. "I want you to understand that as your team leader... no, as your friend. I won't rest until the three of us are back on our home planet. We'll become strong enough that our return to the Saiyans is regarded as the arrival of three saviors, Khive included!" You really wanted to make sure Khive was powerful enough by the time you returned to the Saiyan Homeworld that you could just have her call herself a Super-Elite without being questioned.

"That sounds... nice." Parzlee smiled for the first time in a while, and you soon made your way to her pod. You didn't even ask her if she wanted to carry it or not, and just picked it up yourself, resting the pod on your back as you flew back. "I've worried about Khive ever since we were kids, and I... just don't understand it."

"Understand what?" You wondered where Parzlee was heading with this.

"Well, we weren't identical at birth, but... we were born with identical power levels." Parzlee started to explain things to you. "We were both born with high power levels, for children, but... when it actually came time for the two of us to train... whenever we trained, my strength would increase, but... Khive's would almost always just stay the same." The sister sounded concerned for her twin, and you started to ponder the situation.

"Stay the same...? What do you mean?" It sounds ridiculous, but... you sort of know where Parzlee is coming from. When you helped her train, you put Khive through a hellish course, but... when it came to actually measuring her power level increases, they were almost negligible. Whereas any normal Saiyan would've jumped up hundreds of points in their Power Level, Khive... never really experienced that.
>>
"Well, it was like she wasn't growing any stronger despite doing the exact same things as me, at first I attributed it to different growth, but... none of the other Saiyans I've ever met have had a rate of growth as slow as Khive's. She's had to work three times as hard just to get the recognition she wanted to be a Saiyan Warrior at all." It is strange, how slow it seems that Khive advances in strength, but what's stranger still is the fact that she managed to create that Ki Blade for no reason other than to skin that creature. You wondered if there was some secret that was keeping Khive weaker, or if there was perhaps some mental block on her power...? You'd get to the bottom of it eventually, you knew that much.

"I see..." You kept silent on the rest of the way back to the cave. Not knowing what to say in response to Parzlee's revelations. You supposed that there was a potential of Khive subconsciously blocking her own power, but... why the hell would she?

When the two of you returned to the fire, you noticed that Khive was already almost done skinning the animal, and you gave her a cheerful greeting as you set the Saiyan pod down by the fire before you headed deeper into the ice cave in order to retrieve you own pod, spending a few minutes extracting it from the ice and returning with it to set it down around the fire.

In the end, there were three Saiyan Pods positioned around the fire, all with their doors opened. Parzlee decided to make herself useful while you did this, and used some of the freshly skinned pelt from the large beast in order to create three thick curtain-like coverings, tearing the pelt apart and using her own Ki in order to heat the skin to such a degree that whatever bacteria might've been living inside it that could've caused it to rot were killed. Eventually, the three Saiyan Pods were given thick fur curtains that made them far more cold-proof. Their broken doors weren't exactly great protection, after all. Parzlee also repeated the process in order to make fur blankets while you helped Khive butcher and cook parts of the now skinned beast. The three of you joked and laughed as you all tried to help each other take their minds off of the terrifying reality that everyone that you knew was dead.

The meat from the beast wasn't exactly fantastic, it was stringy and tough, but it was still the first thing you've eaten in about eighty years, and it was meat, so that was all that really mattered to you and your squad. You still had a little bit of time before you were totally fatigued, and you wondered if you should do anything with the remaining minutes you had before heading to your pod to sleep.

Before heading to bed, you turn to Khive and accidentally yawn. "That energy knife technique of yours... I think it's pretty impressive. When did you learn it, did Parzlee teach you?" While you haven't exactly practiced it yourself, it's meant to be very hard to form an energy blade like that. Something that only a prodigy would be able to do, and even then, it would probably take them a lot of practice to manage to create one.

"Oh... that? That's just something I came up with by myself. It's... too small to really be that much help in a fight, but when I need to use it for utility, it always comes in useful!" Khive didn't seem all that proud of her knife, but you decided it would be best if she understood just how difficult it was to use such a technique.

"Khive, don't you get it? I don't think I've ever met a Saiyan who could form their Ki into a blade like you do so easily! It's a natural gift!" You tell your subordinate just how impressive what she's so effortlessly pulling off what an incredible technique she's managed to develop. "If you were to develop it a little more, then you'd be able to easily take down enemies that are far above your power level!" Most beings weren't at all resistant to cutting attacks, and a higher power level wouldn't save them from something like Khive's Ki Blade. After all, despite her far weaker power level, she was able to easily skin that huge beast!

"You... really think so?" She smiled a little at your declaration that her knife was impressive, and you gave her a thumbs up.

"Of course! In fact, before we go to bed tonight, I want to spend a little time helping you practice it!" After helping her practice, you'll set up a few Ki Mines outside the cave as a layer of deterrence before heading to bed.

Hmm. Well powerlevel is meant to be a measure of competence, inherent power and skill.

So for that to never go up beyond trifles. . . Perhaps if our training with her was to focus on technique over raw power, her body could be changed through certain techniques like the ozzaru form to subvert and counteract the level system which doesn't take into account such things.

I'd also suggest getting her to practice forming those blades quickly and effeciently, so when they are needed they can be summoned to hand without delay.

Arguments over romance options have killed more than a few quests and rendered a greater amount either plainly unpleasant or boring as fuck while people play at dates and crap with characters who haven't had their relationships built up too, fleshed out or even in some cases not even had their personalities fleshed out to the point that there's no reason for this to happen on any level but "Anon horny for sex and affection that you can't actually write out on a blue board".

So I would really like to avoid this, because when it works it works well, but when it doesn't because there is no effort gone into it, it's an active detriment.

>Space
You mean our homeworld, Planet plant/vageta. If we reach that point, we'd have more pressing things to worry about.

>Nothing wrong with it to save the race

A power level is supposed to just be how much energy is emitted by somebody at any given moment.
That's what I've always interpreted it as from a Scouter.
It's why special technique attacks have higher recorded power levels, and why people with Ki Mastery can hide their power level.
That's one of the reason that Power Levels are considered unreliable by some, it gives you a false sense of security.

"OK, Khive, let's get started then... can you show me how you're forming that Ki Knife of yours? I want to make sure I understand the principle behind what you're doing here."

"Of course, Rettace!" She put her hand out in front of her, before she put her other hand on top of it and begun to focus her concentration, an expression of effort was on her face as she was putting herself under pressure in order to perform well in front of you. After a few seconds of focus, a red shine of energy started to form around her hand, and a few seconds after that, the red shine had taken a more solid form. A very short blade like shine surrounding her hand. The knife didn't have great range, but it was clearly immensely sharp.

"Impressive..." You looked at the projected weapon. "But... you need to let yourself be more free with your energy. With how you're focusing so hard, you're actually making it more difficult to project the blade. If you were to just move your energy around your body naturally and have it converge upon your hand, you'd have more luck, I think." She looks at you as she tilts her head, and you smile. "Just try it, OK? When it comes to control over Ki, I doubt you'll find a better Saiyan than me." You were proud of your Ki Mines, it was very much a point of personal pride. "Now, dismiss that blade and try to make a new one, but... don't think about it too hard. If you think too hard about it, you're guaranteed to be slower and more likely to choke."

"OK! I'll... try." She dismissed the Ki Blade around her hand before she closed her eyes once again, this time she didn't grab her arm, but the red energy of her Ki Blade still began to form around her hand all the same. Though this time, when she was done, the Ki Knife was at least double the length it was before! To the point where it could be used as an actual weapon in a fight!

"Incredible!" You praise Khive, and she puffs up a little bit with pride as she looks down at the Ki Blade being emitted from her hand. Despite her much lower power-level, you didn't have a doubt in your mind that Khive could cut through your body with that weapon. "What did we tell you, Khive? Your true calling might be as somebody who can master any technique she wants!" Seriously, though you understand the concept behind it, actually being able to wield a Ki Blade like that should be absolutely impossible for somebody at her level. It's not just an issue with the skill required, but with her general power level too. Keeping something like that manifested for long should drain her quite a bit, but... she seemed totally fine! You aren't even going to attempt to try to manifest your own Ki Blade right now though, Khive might've managed it, but you've tried before. It's far more difficult than Khive makes it look.
>>
"Hehe, it might be!" Khive sounded happy, before she yawned and looked at her inviting pod, clearly she wanted to rest now, and you just smiled.

"It's alright, Khive. You can go to sleep now if you want. I have a few things I need to do anyway." You gave her the go-ahead to leave, and as she turned to walk away, you tuned your Scouter to her, seeing that your little lesson had managed to actually improve her Power Level too! Not by a great deal, only around 50 points, but she was still stronger thanks to what you taught her!

When Khive goes to bed, you head outside the cave with the intent to set up a few mine traps for any curious animals, but as you set the traps up, you get to thinking... while you can't project a Ki Blade, maybe... you can use the concept for something else?

You spend about an hour practicing a new technique as you follow your idea, eventually culminating in a highly modified Ki Blast that used aspects of the Ki Mine. The Ki Blast itself was shaped like a thick palm sized needle, but the shape wasn't the only thing special about it. Unlike normal Ki Blasts which exploded upon impact, these ones were unique in the regard that instead of immediate detonation, they were designed with a sharp piercing tip that would burrow into things before exploding, maximizing the damage! They were very much a lethal technique though, so using them on somebody you wanted to keep alive would be plenty dumb. Then again, outside of a few cases, you didn't imagine you'd be fighting many people you'd prefer to keep alive if things came to a fight.

Satisfied with your progress, you headed inside the cave once more, making sure the Ki Mine field was operational before you did. You quickly got into your Pod and pulled the fur curtain closed, covering yourself in the blanket. Khive and Parzlee had gone to sleep already, so there was nothing for you to do but rest now, and recover properly from the injuries you'd gotten through the day.

Also, the way Zenkai Boosts will work in this quest is they only activate if you have recently fought against an enemy who is stronger than you or take an attack that is stronger than you.
Basically, the Saiyan Biology only kicks in if it recognizes an enemy that you need to grow stronger to overcome.

There are no heroes. They're all dead.
>>
hahaha, oh god, we suck atm
>>
You didn't dream last night, you rarely ever dreamed, and when you did they were normally nightmares. You did fortunately sleep well though, thanks to the efforts of your team, you got a goods night's rest, which was definitely something. Your wounds from yesterday had healed up too, and as a nice bonus, you felt a little more powerful too!

You pulled the curtain aside and clambered out of your pod, looking around to see that Khive and Parzlee were already up. You smiled at this, you'd have normally gotten up at around the same time as them, but in this case, you were... well, you went to bed quite a bit later than either of the girls, and while the development of your new technique definitely made staying up late worth it, it didn't exactly reflect well on a squad leader to sleep in. You put your armor back on as you redressed, while you didn't undress out of all of your clothing, you couldn't exactly sleep with your armor on.

Before you left the cave to find Khive and Parzlee, you took the white fur pelt you had used as a blanket for the night and wrapped in around your shoulders as a sort of cloak for yourself. It should go a fairly long way towards protecting you from the cold of this planet, and judging by the lack of a blanket in Khive and Parzlee's pods, the two girls had the same idea as you.

You finally left the cave to go find the girls after quickly eating a haunch of meat that had been left over for you, and you soon spotted Khive and Parzlee sparring with one another, it was clear that Parzlee was holding back quite a great deal for her twin, but even so, it seemed like Khive was fighting just a little better than she was the last time you saw her. Looks like she might've just taken your lesson to heart! Of course she wasn't using her newly developed Ki Blade technique in the spar with her sister, such a lethal technique had no place in a friendly spar.

The two of them both stop when they see you emerge from the cave, and are clearly glad to see you're alright. You were right about their usage of the blankets too, all three of you now had furry white cloaks wrapped around your armor. They didn't have hoods on them considering the impromptu nature of their creation, but as far as cloaks go, they were high enough quality.

Parzlee bounds up to you, careful to avoid the Ki Mines you set around the entrance to the cave as she did, and she's followed not long after by Khive. "Good morning, boss. Sleep well, I take it?" She sounded as confident as ever. Looks like she'd managed to get a hold on herself over the course of a night's rest. It's understandable of course. She was still a Saiyan after all, and there was time to grieve for the lost years later. For now all that mattered was getting the squad off of Onisthena safely.
>>
"I did, Parzlee. I spent a little time coming up with a new attack, which I might get the opportunity to show you a little later, at least if the wildlife doesn't hold off on attacking us." You had to admit though, you were kind of excited to see what kind of beasts were around that you could test your new abilities against. In some ways, Onisthena was a Saiyan's dream planet, with the powerful beasts roaming the wilds, training wouldn't exactly be difficult here. "You two are ready to move out though, right? I want to track down Sycam today." You wanted to take care of things before thoughts of revenge went to his head. You didn't know exactly how it functioned for Half-Saiyans, but if they were anything like Purebloods, he'd have grown more powerful since you defeated him, and it may have even made him more powerful than you! You'd have to watch out for that, of course.

"Well. We were just waiting for you to wake up, me and Khive have been ready for about an hour." Parzlee shrugged.

"Good to hear. Follow me then, I don't want to waste any time in looking for Sycam." You set off towards the forests, finally leaving the mountains with Khive and Parzlee following closely.

The three of you were flying through the air, looking for any place that Sycam might've gone to. You had passed over the village, a manual scan with your scouter had revealed that there was no significant power levels in the village that could've belonged to him. But then, a beam of energy from below suddenly crashed into you, and knocked you off of your flight path. It wasn't enough to badly hurt you, but... it seemed like somebody was trying to get your attention. You looked down and started tuning your scouter, and your jaw almost dropped from the reading you got in return. '12167'! No way was this Sycam. This was a foe that you wouldn't be able to defeat even with Parzlee and Khive's assistance!

It seemed Khive grew in strength when she developed her technique. Perhaps the more she develops her ki techniques, the stronger she'll get? Maybe make a blunt version for supreme pimp smacking, or making small shields for blocking and deflecting.

You need to go down and meet them, that much is obvious, but... you look at Parzlee and Khive, signaling them to go down separately to you, if things become a fight, then while it might be hopeless depending on the actions of this potential foe, it will be crucial to rely on the assistance of your ally. It isn't entirely unheard of for a weaker group to defeat a superior foe with their numbers, but... the fact that this enemy is on the level of the King... you don't think you're going to have many chances to win in an actual fight.

Parzlee and Khive nods, and you descend to Earth. Despite the fact that the attack you took could've had enough energy put into it to kill you if your reading of this unknown attacker's strength is correct, they were obviously only trying to get your attention, so it might not turn into a battle yet.

As you descend down into the canopy of the forest, the attacker becomes clear. A red skinned woman with black hair, skin just like Sycam's, wearing black and red casual clothing. She was smirking as you revealed yourself. "So you're the one who roughed my little brother up then yesterday? Yeah... you seem about strong enough to take Sycam on." She was assessing your strength without a scouter? Not to mention the fact that the shot she took would've been impossibly difficult to make with eye contact alone.

"I fought your brother because I had no choice, I at least tried to make sure that he wasn't too wounded by the end of the fight. I take it you're the queen then?

"The queen? Ha! No, I'm the Crown Princess. My name is Euca, I'll ask yours as well, Sycam didn't do much other than groan when I asked him." The red skinned woman shrugged.

"My name is Rettace. What exactly are you here for, Euca? You clearly don't want to fight, otherwise you wouldn't be so open to a dialogue like this." It was a very un-Saiyan thing to do, to open with your words, but you liked to think of yourself as a very un-Saiyan-like person when it came to matters such as this one. Many of your peers would've run in to attempt to prove their strength, unbelieving of their enemy's power, and they would've been slaughtered.

"Well, I don't know if Sycam told you, but... my mother met my father in a great battle between the two of them, which ended up with them becoming lovers. You're the same race as my father, aren't you?" Oh boy, you don't like where this is going at all. "As you're the strongest male humanoid on this planet, I want to fight you!" She pointed a finger at you, and you frowned. In one-on-one combat, there would be almost no chance of beating her!

"Fine, let's just do this." No sense putting things off, so you start getting into your fighting position.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaG5XiiNuEM

"Wonderful." Is all Euca says before disappearing before your very eyes and appearing to your left with a kick wound up ready to slam into your side! This speed?! There was a large smile on her face as she completed the kick that you could only start to respond to.

You barely manage to block the kick with your arm before it slams into you, and you are sent flying into a tree by the force of the blow even though you managed to block the strike. You smash through the trunk of the tree before continuing to crash through the dense foliage and plant-life of the forest, not stopping until you'd crashed through at least dozen of the trees. Luckily your body was too reinforced to allow any of the thick splinters of the trees to pierce your skin, but damn it it still hurt. You groan as you get up to face Euca again, and the red skinned hybrid was walking towards you with a non-threatening smile on her face.

"Really? I was expecting a little more from the man who defeated my brother." She kept walking towards you, and you smirked at her this time, before you threw a Ki Mine straight at her. "Really?" She sounded disappointed as she tried to bat the Ki Mine aside, but instead it stuck straight onto her arm. She looked at the mine curiously for a few moments.

"Really." You clenched your fist and caused the Ki Mine to explode, though when the dust cleared, Euca was still standing there, a little singed, but not damaged at all by your attack.

"An interesting technique, but nowhere near enough to defeat me. But let's see how you like one of mine!" She pointed a hand towards you, and a great amount of black energy began to build upon her palm! "Dark Shine!" She suddenly launched a wave of Ki towards you, and you realized that you didn't have enough time to dodge it! You grit your teeth as you gathered your own energy in your hands and retaliated with an energy wave of your own. Your turqoise-green energy clashing with her black energy! The two beams seemed equally matched for a moment before you started to lose ground against her!

"Nghhhhhhh!" You tried to bring out all of your latent power against the woman, but you were already using everything you had, and were still losing! Suddenly though, two energy balls smashed into Euca from behind, and she was caught off guard by the sudden appearance of Khive and Parzlee!

"What?!" She was surprised and not focusing, giving you the opportunity to go just one step further and overwhelm her wave!

You roar as your wave eclipses her own and envelops her, the red skinned woman being consumed by a flash of light as the wave explodes upon her. A cloud of dust gathers at the place the explosion occurs, and for a moment, you think you had actually managed to win, until...
>>
"That wasn't exactly sporting of you." The dust cleared, and standing in the middle of a crater was Euca, apparently unharmed, though her clothes were a little more damaged than usual. You're about to order Khive and Parzlee to help you, but she disappeared again, reappearing behind Parzlee and kicking her hard. The powerful kick launching the woman soaring through the air in an arc for miles before she turned her attention to Khive, who had already formed her energy blade.

However, when Khive went to thrust at Euca, the red-skinned hybrid merely caught her hand before punching her in the stomach so hard that Khive immediately doubled over in pain before fainting from the injury. Your squad had just been defeated in single blows each.

But you weren't going to give up yet! You had a new technique, and now would be the best opportunity for you to try it! Ki Flechettes! You faced the red skinned woman as she looked down at the unconscious Khive before you threw a Ki Flechette right at her body. Only for it to pass through her entirely. You didn't get time to question this before suddenly, her voice came from behind you. "Too slow." You turned just in time to get kicked again. Though this time you heard a crack, not from your armor, but from your arm. Your left arm was broken. Another punch of hers broke a rib. The final punch sent to into a blissful unconscious state.

"Uuuugh." You opened your eyes slowly, your head spun as you tried to move your arms, only to find yourself chained down. You groaned again as you pulled against the weight of the heavy chains with your unbroken arm, before you were alerted by a voice.

"Oh! You woke up! I may have gotten a little bit too rough in our fight earlier, but you and your two friends are all OK!" Euca stood outside the... cell door, you couldn't get a good look at her though. The more important thing to focus on is that you've been put in prison. Well this certainly wouldn't be good... or at least it wouldn't be if you weren't a Saiyan. "Don't bother trying to break the chains, they're made out of Orochalcum, specifically designed to restrain even the toughest of warriors. Besides, even if you could break out of them, your arm is still broken." You frowned as you tested the chains, finding out that she was very much correct. They wouldn't budge, at all. You started to formulate an escape plan, of course. The metal might be something unbreakable to you right now, but... that doesn't mean you couldn't just use the structural integrity of the mounting for the chain against it. A chain was only as strong as the weakest link in it. Of course, you weren't foolish enough to let Euca realize that you were already planning an escape from your cell. "Don't worry about the arm though, just wait some time and I'll have our best healers take care of it for you!" She smiled at you.

You could see that Khive and Parzlee were in the cell with you, similarly chained with the metal unique to this planet. "So, what? You beat me up and you lock me in a dungeon? That's hardly how I'd expect somebody to treat a potential lover."

"...Huh?" Euca just tilts her head in confusion. "What are you talking about, this is how it's been on Onisthena for as long as anybody can remember!" Oh. Well, guess you were wrong then. Damn other races and their different mating habits! It was actually quite similar for Saiyans, a stronger partner would pick their partner. Though even for your race, courtship didn't usually involve the stronger partner beating the weaker unconscious. It appeared as if you had all managed to crash land on a planet where the population was naturally more unrefined and savage than even the Saiyans were! It was only thanks to the cooperation with the Tuffles that your race had access to equipment like yours at all. In fact, if the Tuffles are telling the truth, it was actually them who helped the Saiyans flee from the collapsing Planet Sadala. A space research mission that turned into an evacuation effort. The truth was that the Saiyans owed the Tuffles a great debt. "Don't worry though, as soon as we're wed, I'm sure that my mother will permit you and your two concubines to leave this cell."
>>
"M-my concubines?!" You point at the girl with your functioning arm, finally getting a better look at Euca, she wasn't wearing her casual outfit she confronted you in, and was wearing what looked more like... a princess' dress? Or at least you'd seen something like that on the cover of an old Tuffle history book you'd seen at some point. You don't know why you remembered such a thing, but to see such a mighty warrior dressed up like such a helpless maiden almost made you smile.

"Well, what do you call them then? The two women who came rushing to your aid when you were in mortal danger? What could they be if not your lovers?"

"We're Saiyans! We're a team! That's what teams do!"

"Mhm." Euca didn't sound at all convinced, and you scowled at her. "I have to go and see my Mother now, so stay put and I'll be back with the healer later, OK?" She didn't wait for a response, and simply turned on her heel and walked away, leaving you sitting in your cell with your unconscious allies. You sighed. This wasn't going to be easy to deal with.

There was no point rushing things. Khive and Parzlee took some pretty nasty blows when they were taken out, and waking them up now could prove to be dangerous. Saiyans tend to sleep until their wounds from combat have reached a manageable level, and while it will still take about thirty standard galactic days for a broken arm to heal of its own accord, most other injuries are fairly quick to be healed by a Saiyan. Strong natural healing is really something that the Saiyans require seeing as before the Tuffles were around, they had absolutely no access to any medicine or healing technology. Which wouldn't be that bad for most races, but Saiyans tended to get into fights for very little reason.

You tapped the smooth tiles of the prison cell you had found yourself sitting in. It wasn't a dingy dungeon that you had been thrown in. It did seem to have some measure of quality to it, even if it was a prison cell. It was likely more a holding cell than anything else. Designed to keep you until you were assigned permanent accommodations in whatever passes for a prison on this planet... or if Euca got her own way, until you married her. You don't understand why she even wanted to marry you so badly considering how easily you were overpowered, but you feel like you've gotten stronger after being defeated... you can't get a numeric readout though, because it seems that your scouter was either confiscated or fell off during the journey here. That's annoying.

After what feels like an hour of waiting, Khive and Parzlee both started to wake up at the same time as one another, blinking their eyes open at roughly the same time and both looking around with unfocused gazes for a few seconds, after giving them some time to adjust, you speak. "We lost." You speak calmly and without raising your voice. "We went up against a superior opponent, and yet despite working together against her, we still lost." It was frustrating, but there was really nothing to be done about it. Everyone was still alive, and you were already planning for your escape from this cell. You don't know when Euca is coming back, but you imagine you have some time, it's unlikely that she'll just... forget about you. "We're in prison now, and these chains are apparently unbreakable." You jangle the chain in front of the two girls.

"So... you're planning a breakout, I take it?" Parzlee crosses her arms, or at least attempts to, but her shackled arms and the chains binding her sort of make that a little more difficult.

"I'm thinking about it, yeah. I was wondering if it would be possible not to destroy the chains, but to break them away from the walls they were mounted on..." It wouldn't get rid of the chains themselves, but you could probably find a key to them somewhere.
>>
"Well... they might be unbreakable, but they were forged once, right?" Parzlee speaks this time. "Breaking them by force isn't going to work, but... what if we were to try to superheat them to the point they were forged at with our Ki? I remember seeing something about how metal gets softer when its really hot." That's... not a terrible idea from Parzlee.

You look at Khive, who looks away before speaking. "I could... try and use my Ki Blade on the chains...?" She didn't sound confident, but... it might work. That Ki Blade of hers can cut through things many times more powerful than she is! But would it work on these chains?

"OK, Khive, I want you to attempt to use your Ki blade on the metal, but only a little." She looks at you in confusion, and you explain yourself. "Well, even if it doesn't break, we can use it to test both the strength of the metal and how it handles heat. Though I'd suggest you try it on the chain links. If they do heat up, you don't exactly want that against your bare skin." Khive's new Ki blade was about your best hope of getting out of this situation, as a technique that should transmit both heat energy through the blade as well as cutting power through the edge of the blade itself. Even if Khive had the lowest Battle Power of your squad, you had faith in the power of the Ki Blade, and you had faith in Khive too. You felt like you really had a breakthrough with her last night, and if she could learn even a super complex technique like a Ki Blade practically accidentally, that led you to the question of just what else could she develop?

"I'll do my best, Rettace." She responded with a whisper as she forms the red blade of energy around her hand and starts to work on her own chain, sparks flying as the red energy collides with the green chain.

"Alright, while you try to cut through that chain, me and Parzlee will keep an eye and ear out. Euca should be coming back with a healer at some point, so if we give you the signal, relax and stop immediately." The last thing you need is to be caught trying to break out of prison, especially not by a woman so overwhelmingly powerful. You couldn't beat her even with your increased power from recovering from your injuries somewhat. Your arm was still broken after all.

You watch both Khive and the cell door for around ten minutes, watching as Khive made slow progress on the chain, while it did seem to be working a little, it was slow progress. Seems that the reports weren't bluffing about just how durable this metal is. The benefit of Ki Blades is that they could punch far far above their weight class, potentially functioning even on targets hundreds of times more powerful than the attacker, the fact that this metal was resisting the cutting power of the Ki Blade was a great example of just how powerful that it was in comparison to other materials. If you had a set of armor made out of this stuff, then it would easily shrug off attacks!

It took some time, but eventually Khive had managed to make her way through one half of the link, now she just needed to work on the other half and...

KLANG

You heard a noise of a door slamming open in the distance, followed by two sets of footsteps. You glared at Khive to get her to stop and instead pretend that everything was normal, and soon enough, Euca had returned. A hooded man at her side held a staff in his hands as he accompanied Euca. You could only see his hands wrapped tightly around his staff through his hood, he had green scaled skin on them, and he was slightly hunched over.
>>
"Sorry that took so long!" Euca cheerfully greeted you. "And I see that your 'team-mates' have woken up too!" That gets you a curious look from Parzlee, but you just shrug. You can't exactly spend any time explaining things right now. "Anyway, Imak here is going to heal your wounded arm!" She suddenly produced a key from one of her pockets and used it to unlock the shackles binding your arms. "I don't think I have to tell you that you don't really have a choice but to follow me right now. If you want to fight me again, at least save it until you're healed properly. It took my father Redwo five fights until he was a reasonable match for my mother, yet he never gave up!" You wonder just how powerful that the queen is supposed to be before you got up from the floor and gave Khive and Parzlee one last look, and then you...

>>What will Rettace do?

"Alright, I'll go with you then. If you can heal me, then I can promise that if we were to fight again, it wouldn't be nearly as one sided." You smirked at the light red skinned girl, of course, you don't think you'd be able to defeat her just yet without getting lucky, but with how much you can already feel your strength has increased, you doubt that you'll go down as easy as you did against her last time. No, you feel like while it would definitely be the hardest fight of your life, at your current level of strength victory should be possible. Though you'd definitely need to be as ruthless as you possibly could be against Euca to gain such a victory.

"Excellent. Imak, lead the way to healer's chamber then, and be careful. This man is strong enough that he defeated Sycam, and you shouldn't underestimate him under any circumstances." Euca was being more cautious than you were hoping she would be. Of course, you had no real reason to try to take the healer as a hostage, not only would it accomplish nothing, you also somewhat disliked the idea of using a non-combatant as a way to aid you in a fight. There was no honor in such an action and though you did look down on some other members of your race for their actions, you still had your own Saiyan Pride acting as your own internal code of conduct.

You followed Imak and Euca out of the cell and through twisting turning corridors until finally reaching a set of stairs that you ascended, after that, it was a few more halls and you were at your destination. You, Imak and Euca all stepped into a large white circular chamber. There was a single white stone slab in the middle of the room, and Imak gestured for you to lay upon it. "The slab please, Rettace." He called your name, and you felt it was a little strange that he knew it, but you suppose that Euca must've told him at some point.

You did as you were asked by the strange robed healer. "You better make sure you don't mess this up, healer. We have plenty of spares, and if Rettace's arm doesn't heal properly, I won't even care if I have to explain to my mother why the chief healer was found in five pieces." She threatens the healer, and he just nods.

"As you say, Princess Euca, but... unfortunately, I will need you to leave the healing chamber now, your energy disrupts the natural healing energies of this spiritual room, and it may hinder my healing of Rettace." The healer explains to the haughty princess that she'll need to leave, and she harrumphs.

"Fine, but if you mess it up, I won't be happy!" She points a finger at the robed healer before storming out and shutting the door behind her.

"Finally. We are alone." The robed healer sighed. "It was quite the task, setting this moment up as my vision demanded, but... I do as my sight compels me." The hooded man stares at you, and you catch a glimpse of his face... fishlike features? He doesn't look like any alien race you've ever seen! Not that you've seen many, of course.
>>
"What's that supposed to mean? Aren't you just meant to be healing me here?" You didn't quite get what this man was talking about, but he just shook his head.

"Saiyan. Do you seek strength? Will you crush all in your path in order to achieve power? Do you feel remorse for those slain by your people?" He looked up to the sky, though he was only met by the sight of the roof. "I've seen your heart, and the hearts of your comrades. You are not as brutal as the Saiyans who came after you. Your king may have had evil ambitions, but in the four of you... I only sensed a wish for battle, the Saiyans are not a race genetically predisposed to evil, though your love of battle may lead you to seek out conflict."

"What are you talking about?"

"Answer this question. Would you snuff out a defenseless, innocent life just for your own personal gain?" The healer asked you with a grave tone.

>>What will Rettace say?

You take a breath before you start to speak. "To take pride in the extermination of the defenseless and the weak is the mark of a weakling, there is no honor in such actions. I crave battle and the honor that victory brings. I seek to defend my comrades and my home. If these theoretical innocents threaten neither of these things, then I see no reason that they should be slain. To kill them would be nothing more than... the glorified killing of insects, like a child stomping on a bug nest. So the answer is probably gonna be a no, not unless my hand was forced." You answer the healer truthfully. You know that many of your fellow Saiyan Warriors would've answered the question in a heartbeat, instantly agreeing with the notion of treading on the weak for their own purposes. It wasn't exactly a popular sentiment among Saiyans, and you felt you might be a little odd for thinking about things in such ways, but you feel like you've always been just a little bit brighter than your fellow Saiyans. Even as an infant, you were capable of speaking in full sentences where the other kids your age had barely even learned their first words. You never knew your father though. Your mother always refused to speak about him. You didn't really apply your intelligence to the academic pursuits of course, there wasn't really a way for you to do that anyway, for Saiyans, it was either you become a warrior, or you are by default a worker. Despite the Tuffles many attempts to elevate and change Saiyan Society for the better, it always met with strong resistance from the majority of Saiyans.

"An... acceptable answer. Not the ideal answer, of course, but for a Saiyan, that you are already on this level is a good sign." The man removes his hood properly, and you can see his face properly now. You highly doubt that this man is from this planet. "Now, take my hand." He holds his hand out to you, and you take it with some hesitation before he smiles. You suddenly found yourself standing in the prison cell again, though Imak was still with you. You stumble and fall on the floor as you find yourself in your cell once again. "My apologies for the surprise. Teleportation can be disorienting for the first time." He looked at Khive and Parzlee. "You may want to grab hold of those two now, I'm going to be taking you far from this palace... I can see the future, and I have seen that your fates are intertwined with the fate of the galaxy." You grab Khive and Parzlee's hands in your own before the man puts his hand on your shoulder and you find yourself being instantaneously moved once again.

You fell on your backside again, Khive and Parzlee had been taken with you too. A quick look around showed that you were in some kind of... temple? You were surrounded on all sides by the sky, and it seemed that there was a sheer drop off the side, though you couldn't tell how far the drop was from your current position.
>>
"Welcome to my lookout. My name is in truth not Imak, that was simply an alias. I am Kami... or at least I'm the Kami of this world. It is my duty to act as a guardian to the people of this world. Overseeing it and protecting it from outside threats." The man paused for a moment. "I did this even though I foresaw the demise of my people over a century ago." The man, or perhaps god frowned. "The fate of Kanassa wasn't something that could be changed." He then stepped forwards and held his hand over your wounded arm, and you felt the bone beging to set itself properly.

"You say that, but... why exactly have you brought us here? I'm thankful for you helping us out of that bind back there and for healing my arm, but... I'd like to know what you actually want, and why exactly you're helping us." You weren't about to believe anybody so freely calling themselves a god, even if they did help you.

"I brought you here to offer you training, in exchange for you to promise me something." Training...? Well, you don't really know if he had much to teach you, but an opportunity to train wouldn't go amiss on this hellscape of a planet.

"And that would be...?" You may as well hear him out.

"When you acquire a functioning ship once again, you and your comrades will immediately head to a planet known as Terempus before anything else, even before returning to your planet." The man made his request in exchange for training you, and you thought about it for a while.

"Before I agree to anything... why do you want me to go to this planet Terempus?" You're all for getting stronger, but this sounds like it could be a bad idea, to just... accept an offer without knowing the specifics

"A great calamity shall occur there by the time you reach it. I wish for you to contain that calamity to Terempus, or ideally dispose of it. It is a planet that even my ability to view the future cannot look upon properly. All I know is that if nothing is done, a great monster will spread itself across the stars, countless planets will then be infected by the evil of the beast. I am asking you to go there to destroy this monster before it can destroy any more planets." The god explained his motives to you, and you frowned.

"So you're asking me and my squad to go and destroy some planet-destroying monster for you in exchange for training?" That's the long and short of it, at least. It sounds fairly simple, but you feel like when dealing with planet destroying monsters that can spread across the stars, complacency is a bad idea.

"Effectively? Yes. That is what I am asking of you. Now, do you have any other questions, or are you ready to give your answer now?"

"If you can see the future, then you already know the answer, right?" You cross your arms and raise an eyebrow at the god, who shakes his head with a frown on his face.

"Well, that's not entirely true. My visions can be directed, but I cannot know the future at all times. I can merely observe important events by focusing. To my knowledge, not even the gods above me can observe all of the future at once. Such knowledge and power would drive even the most pure-hearted being insane." He looks at you again. "Despite knowing that I needed to set this meeting up between us, I am not aware of just what we talked with in my vision. I am not omniscient." Well, that clears that up then.

"So you can see the future... but only sometimes, and by focusing deeply?" You don't really know if you buy it, but then again, this so-called god did get you and your comrades out of a pretty dangerous bind, so you can't exactly disregard anything he says. He doesn't seem like he's lying or delusional either, and you have heard of aliens with the power to even stop time in the past, though you didn't really buy the stories. A power like that was just too ridiculous.

"That's right." The man taps his staff on the stone tile, as if waiting for you ask another question, you look at him with confusion, and he smiles. "I don't need to be able to observe the future to determine you have more questions." Well, he's not wrong, but were you really that easy to read?

"Fine, you're right. I do have more questions. First off, my Scouter. Do you have it? I kind of need it to determine the power levels of my opponents." The man grinned at you as he reached into a pocket and pulled out the eye-mounted computer.

"This thing?" He looked at it for a moment before tossing it back to you. "Yes, I believed that you were at least somewhat reliant on that device, but... I cannot recommend you remain as such." You caught the device out of the air and fitted it over your eye again.

"What do you mean?" How could you not rely on a scouter, anyway? They were pretty crucial devices to wear during battles, to the point where practically every Saiyan, despite their somewhat backwards nature compared to the ones who invented the scouters, would happily don them before battle. Being able to determine the level of your opponent's strength was simply too useful.
>>
"There are methods to sense an opponent's power without needing to rely upon external means. This is one of the things I shall teach you, if you accept my offer of training." Kami casually offered to teach you a tremendously useful technique! With an ability like that on your side, you could easily track your opponents during a fight! "Of course, that is not all I can teach you. Right now, you and your comrades are vulnerable to being spotted by devices such as your own, which is why it will be crucial for you to learn how to suppress your energy, to appear invisible to them." Wait... that's something that can be done? Huh, the more you know.

"That's... interesting. Alright, well... one more question... well two. First, can you fix my armor?" The fish-like god just points at your armor and a ray of energy shoots out towards it, then, before your very eyes, the shattered armor had been repaired just like that! "Woah!" When you asked him to fix your armor, you didn't think he'd be able to do it instantly! It was wishful thinking if anything!

"And your final question?" The god asks, and you smirk.

"How exactly are we supposed to get to this planet without any functioning pods?" It was a question that really needed to be answered, and the god just smiled once again.

"Well, do not worry about that. I shall take care of that when your training is complete. I believe... yes, I believe it should take about six months before you are ready." The god stated calmly. "Now, I have another question for you, Rettace. What do you want to focus on during this training?"

"Alright then, I guess I want to focus on a few things, actually. First I want to focus on these sensory abilities you were talking about, then I want to see if you can teach me any techniques that are more useful outside of combat, like that technique that you used to repair my armor. Finally, after all that, I want to focus on my natural Ki reserves. My fighting style requires that I use a lot of my Ki to make multiple attacks, and though running out of Ki is rare for me, I want to make sure that it's not going to happen at all. Especially not when I'm supposed to be going up against a world destroying monster." You make your decision as to what you want to focus on, and then you finally start to tune your scouter to the so-called god.

"Ah, that is not something I was expecting, I was more than ready to have to force you down the path of learning how to sense Ki for yourself, but... I see that it will not be necessary. Perhaps I was somewhat mistaken in my appraisal of you." Kami looked at you, Khive and Parzlee with a smile. It's kind of an unnerving smile, but it's a smile

"In what way?"

"I had simply expected you would focus more on learning how to increase your attack power than you would on learning less combat oriented techniques like this, it is just... unexpected for a Saiyan such as yourself. Your comrades have been quite silent thus far, do they not have any thoughts on this?"

"I speak for my squad in times like this." You finally get a read on the man, and frown as you find out his power level. "Wait a minute... how is your power level only... 400?" You can't believe the readout, and you soon realize why. "You're not showing your true power, are you...?" You deduced the truth quite quickly, it's obvious. There's no way this guy could call himself the god of this planet with such a tiny power level.

"Well, I could hardly go about the persona of a humble healer if I revealed my true strength, could I?" Kami chuckled. "If you doubt my credentials, allow me to put you at ease." He suddenly took a step backwards, tossed his staff to the side, and started charging his energy. Your scouter immediately loses the reading on him as he soared above the tolerance zone for shifting power levels. The entire floating temple shook with his energy as he took on his full power, and you immediately began to tune the scouter to his new power level.
>>
"N-no way! Your power level is... over fifty thousand!" Outside of a Saiyan utilizing the form of the Oozaru, a level of strength like that was something that was practically completely unheard of. A foe on this level would be somebody that even an Oozaru that massively outmatched them in raw strength would have difficulty defeating. While the Oozaru form didn't lack for speed despite its appearance, it did lack in maneuverability, and the tail of a Saiyan was basically a glowing weak point under the full moon in the form of an Oozaru. A lone Oozaru would inevitably get defeated by a force weaker than it, any idiot could figure that one out. There was a reason that Saiyans attacked in squads like yours if they were intending to utilize the transformation on a full moon, and it wasn't just to maximize destruction. Without somebody watching your back, you were simply wide open to having your tail cut off, and that would basically spell the end for all but the hardiest of Saiyans!

"Yes, your Ki Sensor is correct.. My natural power as a Kanassan has been honed through decades of meditation and spiritual practice. I was chosen as the Kami of this planet by the last who held this station because of my great power. He believed that I would be able to bring order to Onisthena, so for the past century, that is what I have done. I have slain myriad demon beasts and while disguised, I have assisted the more intelligent races of this planet to become more civilized. To band together and build villages and cities." The god started to give you his life story, and while you didn't have an incredible amount of personal investment in the tale, it was still interesting. You wonder if Planet Vegeta/Plant has a being like this watching over it too?

"Rettace... this guy, he's pretty intense." Parzlee spoke for the first time, speaking quietly at you and trying to put on a brave face despite feeling the very temple she stood upon quake with the power of the god. Even without the ability to sense Ki or read it from a scouter, Parzlee seemed to be quite worried by the power of this mysterious god. "Are you really going to have us be trained by him?"

"Of course, Parzlee. There are very few people in the universe with the level of strength that this god has. It would be a complete waste if we didn't learn what we could from him." After your embarrassing loss against Euca, you're just about ready to do anything to grow strong enough to defeat the girl. You knew that she would probably be looking for you as well, so it was crucial you got more powerful before that happened. You didn't particularly want to kill the girl. Hell you didn't even really know if you wanted to even hurt her that much. Despite her defeating you, she hadn't done any real lasting damage, and she was still Scalli's daughter.
>>
You spend the next few months training with Kami atop his lookout, and though he had you and Parzlee spar with each other often in order to test out your new abilities against one another, more often than not he had Khive stay back, preferring to teach the girl curious abilities rather than enhancing her combat skills. Crucially though, he taught her quite an amazing ability. The power to heal another person. It exhausted her, doing such a thing, but she could now heal a broken arm all by herself! You didn't really know if you should congratulate her for learning such an ability, considering that it wasn't exactly something a Saiyan would usually be taught. Of course, Kami didn't only teach the girl how to heal other people, he also taught her other abilities too, the ability to materialize objects, the ability to communicate with others telepathically. All sorts of strange abilities.

Seeing as we are not blacksmiths or otherwise any form of craftsman, the materialisation beam holds no appeal to me and nor do I think it would to rettice. Though I admit, it's kinda hard to focus on combat applications first and foremost in my thought processes.

You had learned multiple new techniques under the guidance of Kami in your six months of training, the ability to both sense Ki as well as hide your own Ki, in addition to two very difficult to wield techniques. The first was one that Kami warned you about before allowing you to start learning how to wield it. It turns out that his race, the Kanassans, have the ability to unlock the psychic abilities of other beings. Though only a certain few Kanassans actually held such abilities, Kami was one of them. After being told of the potential that future sight could grant, you accepted the ability from the Kanassan. At first, your visions of the future were completely sporadic and unreadable. Brief flashes of events occurring immediately in the future or sometimes years from now, they didn't last long enough to gain any true insight on them, but they constantly plagued you for the first few weeks after being granted the technique regardless, eventually you managed to get things under control at least. Though you had questions as to why you kept seeing the same figure appear multiple times. A short figure with horns, sitting in some sort of floating chair. The physical appearance of a total weakling, but even so, even the brief flashes in your visions were enough to warn you that whoever this being was, they were dangerous.

The other technique that Kami taught you was also an advanced technique, and one that would take years to properly master at your current level. The ability to forcibly absorb energy from enemy Ki Attacks and use that energy to replenish your own reserves. It could also be used on people too, but the efficiency of using it for that purpose with your current level of skill was dreadfully low. You look out at the world beneath you from the lookout. Despite the savage nature of the world, it looked so serene and calm from atop Kami's Lookout.

Finally though, your time spent training with Kami was at an end, and your strength was far far greater now than it was before you began to train upon the lookout. Euca never came for you, so you can only assume that she either gave up looking for you, or she just didn't have any luck for the past six months. It was far more likely to be the former though. You can't imagine that she would be that obsessed with finding you, not really. You've had a grand total of about one conversation with the girl, and she didn't seem like the sort of person who would get attached too quickly to somebody...
>>
"Well, Rettace." A voice from behind you alerted you to Kami's presence. Even with your new ability to sense Ki, you never seemed to be able to spot Kami without him being able to sneak up on you like this. "Your training is done. So I have to ask you... do you wish to leave Onisthena right away, or do you wish to take care of the... problems you have with the royal family? I would prefer you not kill them though, Queen Seqoi's rule has been vital in maintaining stability ever since your friend taught her humility when they fought all those years ago."

I dont think we are. Sycam, potentially. The woman however is both crown princess (A lot of responsibilities and notice of her mother) and intent upon marrying us because she can beat the shit out of us.
Lot of risk with her, despite the potential gains in such a potent ally. Still, she may be very unhappy with our six month escapade.

You know her power probably *also* massively went up in six months, right? She's got that Half Saiyan potential, and unlike Gohan in canon, isn't likely to completely squander it.
>>
>>4923635
Potentially.

But I doubt that it went up as much as ours did for a few reasons. One is that she has no real need to increase her powers, given that 12k was king Vageta who was able to rule a planet of saiyans with that kinda strength. Two is that I heavily doubt she has been training as hard or as long as we have with as powerful a mentor. Even if her mother is still tutoring her in power leveling, doubling her shit seems rather unlikely.

And third she is the crown princess, so I assume she has other royal duties to tend to which cuts into training time and energy.

But as I said, similar levels or not, it's where the fun begins.
>>
Right, so We have trickery specialist, lost our long range, Khive is a technical I'm pretty sure and I believe that Parzlee is a close assault fighter.

So whoever we induct into the team we are going to have to train properly as warriors of the homeworld. Scyam is my favoured choice for his potential and, of course, being the son rather than crown princess.
>>
"I want a rematch with Euca. I can't just leave things as they are, having been defeated by her so easily, it's... not something that I feel like I can abide by, my Saiyan blood won't allow me to just... let this slide. Now I've grown more powerful, I believe that I can beat her." Going off of your recorded power levels, though considering that you no longer had a need for your scouter, using power levels at all was more a hobby than anything else at this point. Of course going off of the strength that you recorded you should have an overwhelming advantage against the girl, but Kami shook his head wisely.

"Remember what you have learned, Rettace. About the ability to hide your power. There are some who can do it through forcefully restricting their output of ki, and certain species can hide their full power through assuming other forms. The last thing you should do is become complacent about starting a battle with a level of strength higher than your opponent... you already almost learned that lesson against Sycam, did you not?" The god speaks the truth. Sycam's power did surge tremendously when you battled him, and if you had gotten less lucky with him choosing to strike your armor instead of at a vital point, you would've been defeated by him at that time.

"Alright, I'll be careful. If there's one thing I've learned from training up here with you, it's that being assured in your own power is a good way to lose a battle." Though that was a lesson that Parzlee had refused to take to heart, but Khive got it... at least somewhat, anyway. That may have just been a natural response to her level of strength falling behind you and Parzlee's. Of course Khive with her new abilities would definitely prove to be an asset to your group. Maybe even more than if she was simply another fighter on the level of her sister. Though her abilities clearly still needed at least some more training before they were super useful, the fact that she could rapidly stabilize somebody with fatal wounds made her an asset that no Saiyans would otherwise have access to. It was a typical Saiyan tradition to put a permanently crippled ally out of their misery during a mission because of this, and though you never agreed with the idea, it was a tactic made out of necessity. Despite their savage nature, many Saiyans come to care for their squad mates as if they were family, so most of the time if it was done, it was done in order to prevent an ally that couldn't be rescued from being tortured by the enemy for information or taken prisoner.
>>
"Good. Just see to it that you be careful. I understand you wish to test your new abilities, but there is a great power inside Euca and Sycam, and though it is similar to the power inside you three, it is not something I am able to properly determine. Perhaps it's thanks to their nature as hybrids? Inheriting the best traits of both of the parents to create a superior offspring? Though I am rambling a bit..." Sometimes he got like that, his visions of the future were often things he chose not to share, but they clearly affected his thoughts more often than not. You did at least feel comfortable in the knowledge that if he saw that your fight with Euca had an unfavourable result, he would tell you... or at least you hoped he would. You had spent a long time training under the god now, and you had grown to trust him.

"Alright, Kami. I'll be careful. Khive. Parzlee. With me. We're heading to the Royal Palace. Everyone, keep your power levels lower, at around the level we were before we started training. We wouldn't want to ruin the surprise, would we?" Kami had been kind enough to give you directions to the locations of interest on the planet, though other than a few monster nests that he suggested could be good for the three of you if you ever felt like training further, there wasn't really that much. There were very few villages and cities on this planet, those without powerful warriors to defend them usually ended up crumbling under the oppressive might of the Onisthenian wildlife. According to Kami, millions of years ago, a crack to this place called the 'Demon Realm' opened up on the planet Sthena, and thousands of powerful beings invaded through it. It was originally perceived as an invasion, but in the end, the demonic incursion was foiled by that generation's Kami with help from some higher gods and the crack was sealed. Though the Gods in their benevolence ended up taking mercy on the beings that had already come through the portal. This eventually lead to the Demons and the native Sthenians interbreeding, finally culminating in the creation of a whole new race. The Onisthenians, and the renaming of the planet to Onisthena. The Kami at the time had tried to express his worry about this to the Gods above him, but... a great calamity of some sort had struck, and he was left without their assistance, so he simply observed.

"Alright Boss, I gotta admit, I'm looking forward to teaching that red bitch a lesson." Parzlee had a confident smirk on her face, she also had a bone to pick with Euca of course. You weren't the only one who suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the Half-Saiyan, though it wasn't exactly very honorable to attempt to overwhelm an opponent using numbers. As a Saiyan, fighting one-on-one against a foe was the standard unless a situation was truly desperate, in which case fighting together would come naturally.
>>
"Y-yeah... I also want her to be taught why messing with you is a bad idea, Rettace!" Khive, while not becoming powerful enough to fight against Euca by herself clearly still wanted her to pay for what she did... though honestly, you felt like both of the girls held more of a grudge than you did. It would be a lie to say you weren't a little bitter at how easily you were defeated by Euca, but it's not like the girl had really done that much to deserve your hatred. Honestly, if anything, she was too nice to you and your allies.

After a few minutes of flying through the skies of Onisthena, you had reached your destination. The Royal Palace of Onisthena. It was a huge building, even larger than King Vegeta's palace, and that was no small feat. When the laborers were Saiyans, they could build things of incredible scale, though they did tend to look crude thanks to Saiyans not exactly valuing craftsmanship in general. It was somewhat similar with the Onisthenians, though they did seem to have at least some appreciation for aesthetics, considering that the Royal Palace looked more... well, advanced, is about the only word you can think of.

Setting down in front of the main gates, two guards armed with green metal bladed spears blocked your path. Out of habit, you tuned your scouter to check their exact power levels despite being able to feel their level of strength. Both were approaching 3000. Strong, but no match for any of you. Even Khive would have very little difficulty disposing of these two guards with her Ki Blade.

"Halt! What business do you have with the Queen of Onisthena?!" One of the guards pointed his spear at you.

>>What will Rettace do?
>Have Khive deal with the two guards.
>Knock the two guards out with a Kiai and enter.
>Tell them you're here to see the princess, and to go and fetch her.
>Use an energy wave to blow the guards and the front entrance away.

>Khive, disable them. Let us see practice paying off.

I want Khive to test herself against some lower tiered opponents, make sure that she is up to scratch outside of sparring.
But I dont want them to die either, that invites retaliation and further more is less of a test for Khive. So end their threat and try to do it without killing them

After that is done, and if they are still able to move and speak

"I'm here to see the princess, she's expecting my arrival, so be good underlings and go fetch her for me, would you?" You have no intention of dealing with these underlings yourself, so you command them to go and get their boss for you. "Tell her that I wish to give her a beating in front of all of her citizens, I want this to be a public affair." You smirk at the two of the royal guards, and they don't look impressed.

"Tch!" The two guards get into fighting positions, and you sigh. "Your disrespect towards the royal family won't go unpunished, scum! Prepare to die!" The two of them rush towards you with their spears, the two yellow skinned guards don't even get halfway to you before you bring your hand up and generate a burst of energy and wind to blow the two of them away, sending them both smashing into walls at high speeds, unconscious. Their armor might've been strong, but the difference between you is too great for gear to make up for. Even gear as powerful as Orochalcum armor didn't let them last any longer than a few seconds against an opponent that completely surpassed them, even with your power suppressed as it currently was.

"Alright then, I'll do it myself!" You spoke to the now unconscious guards as you took a step forwards towards the main gate of the palace, and sent a blast of energy straight at the doors, blasting them open before powering up a little bit, just to flare your energy out so that you could be certain Euca knew that you had arrived.

"There you are!" Vaulting down from the walls of the palace appeared Euca, she had grown a little bit stronger since the last time you saw her, but not to the degree that you had. Her Power Level was 13505 now according to your scouter after tuning, powerful, and maybe a challenge to Parzlee, but against you, you doubt you'd have that much difficulty in defeating her unless she was hiding a lot of power. "I've been looking all over the place for you after you and your friends disappeared! But... this time, I'm going to make sure that there's no escape for you. I don't know how you got out last time, but I'm not going to let it happen again!"

"Oh don't worry, I have no intention of allowing myself to be captured by you again. In fact, I'm going to beat you, and prove to you that I am the superior warrior. you defeating me in our last battle was simply a fluke." You crossed your arms as you faced off with the woman.

"Huh, aren't you a little bit confident? What... did you develop a new technique or something?" The woman sounded smug, but you were about to rain on her parade when you actually got to fighting, you were keeping your level lower than hers right now, so she had reason to be confident, even if she could sense your power.
>>
"Something like that." Well, you actually had developed quite a few new techniques thanks to Kami, but that wasn't why you were so confident in yourself here. Though you were still wary of Euca hiding power like Sycam, you felt like you'd earned the right to be just a little cocky. The two of you were still just staring at one another, waiting for the other to make the first move.

>>What will Rettace do?

The first function is to make her think it takes us time to raise our powerlevel temporarily.
The second is because I want to out skill her, rather than overpower her.

But if she is indeed more skillful, we will simply have to use power.
>>
>>4925462
To clarify, I don't want to use our full power unless we have to. The secret of any trickster is always keeping our hand hidden and never playing a trick unless we have to.

I don't see the need to keep the palace intact. She is obviously confident enough to keep inside, so this is on her.

I am also not favouring her as our squads replacement. But I am open to changing that, can you give your reasoning?
>>
>>4925486
Why don't you want her to come with us? SHe's strong enough
>>
>>4925487
One is her position in the noble courts. Crown princess means she will succeed her mother and thus have obligations to her home and people which conflict with our own desire to not be bound to this shithole planet full of beasts.

Two is that power isnt everything, though she is. . Potent, we dont know if there is the skill or discipline to back that up. We are a millitary unit first and foremost, if you cannot respect command then you have no place into it.

The last is her own cultural conceptions of marriage and her thirst for us. I'm not interested in that and dont want it distracting her. Denying her affections would also have potential for having her refuse our company.

And of course, the last point is that if we take her with us and she grows stronger then she may try that marriage crap again.

Euca's the crown princess, so she has to stay behind and take the throne when her mother kicks it. The royal line needs to stay in place to keep the planet stable without bringing Kami back into the stage.
Sycam, though, is free to come, since she's not likely to die before she has her own successor in place.
>>
>>4925492
The royal family, not their house.

But if you do want to keep the place intact, we could toss her out of the walls in one of our moves.
