My name is Mary.

I now own a dungeon.

Not by choice, mind you. I was forced into this when the previous owner placed a curse on me after I tried to audit him. Now I'm the ruler of this place until my asshole of a boss decides to send someone to free me from the curse.

So, anywhere between a month and forever.

But I'm trying to make the most of it while I'm here.

It's tiring, though, but some of it's perks are worth it.

We have a nice spa now.

We do have a small problem, however...

Apparently once five people enter a dungeon it is considered a Raid.

This is a special time for me as the Dungeon Master. I am allowed to add and remove monsters as much as I want to increase or decrease the challenge. The normal restrictions for that are lifted and any monsters sent in are given the same special revival as a monster that was placed in at the start.

Also, I must appear at the end in some shape or form.

And according to this there must be some 'Epic Tier' loot at the end, whatever that means. It looks like the group is about to enter the fountain room. Should I make any changes or let them proceed a bit?

I've already detailed how to make the ice elemental room more challenging. Maybe beef up that wall and then have the mud slimes ready to unleashing a barrage. Have explody begin multiplying ahead of time and I'd really like a molten slime (Fire + Earth) and something able to create oil slick in Lilly's room.

Also, picture of a possible reconfiguration of the dungeon. Adds a food court, a slime play area, and a more "citadel" aesthetic to slime crown citadel.
>>
>>466851
I've got a question or two, boss.

How many pieces of major treasure can we get the dungeon to produce?

Is it possible to create unique items for certain adventurers?

Do the treasures just "appear" in the dungeon, or is there a material cost for them?

How about doing a Q&A format for this team after their run through the main dungeon, but before the Secret Boss?

Also, I had some ideas for unique items I done had while I was waitin' for you.

I was waitin' for a while...
>>
>>466884
Those comfy slimes in the rope pit? They're explodey slimes now.

The healing room? It is filled with every unassigned slime we have, and the healer won't heal you until they're all defeated.

The ice elemental room? It has more aggressive mud slimes and two additional ice elementals.

Put some more chests with G20-80 in each room according to toughness.

Have Curi wear the siren slime.

Item Drops for defeating SlimeCrown Citadel's main dungeon:

PLEASE NOTE: The large amount of rewards given out today are meant to show to adventurers who haven't visited what people could get from visiting this dungeon. The drop rate will be altered to a more normal rate of two major treasures per trip following this event.

For MuscleWizard
Bubble Pipe of Dapperness - Increases Diplomacy by +10. Increases Fisticuffs (Marquess of Queensblobby rules) by +20. Twice per day gain +20 on a single knowledge skill check, regardless of training. Makes the user look rather genteel when in use.
Item description: A pipe made out of blue crystal so clear, it looks like frozen water. Bubbles float up from the top of the pipe, regardless of what is being smoked in it's bowl. It smells constantly of fine tobacco.
History check: This pipe once belonged to a noble gentleblob named Sir John Goolage the Second. Noted for both his various insights and his boxing ability, he was known far and wide as a fine gentleblob of good breeding and high nobility.

For ShotaRogue
Hand and Footwraps of Silent SlimeClimbing - Increases Climbing by 20. Three times a day gain the ability to stick to and move on any surface without penalty, including walls and ceiling. Gives enemies a -2 for finding it's wearer in dark conditions.
Item description: These black leather hand and foot bindings secrete a sticky substance when worn, helping out when climbing on many surfaces. It has stitching of deep indigo thread, imbued with water.
History check: These hand and foot bindings are but one of the few remaining artifacts of The Slime Queen's Dark Tendrils, a royal spy guild that answered directly to the queen and tasked to seek out traitors to the SlimeCrown and Blazing Horde spies and snuff them out.

For PettankoPsion
Psionic SlimeOrb x 2 - Reduce damage by -2, but inflicts slow and weakness to lightning on every hit, lasts three turns. Can speak Common Slimish and High Slimish when attuned to a psion. Can also be used to grease floors to make traps.
Item description: This ball of blue translucent slime seems to wobble and shake when a psionically gifted adventurer is near. In it's center, an uncut blue sapphire sits within, slowly spinning on it's axis.
History check: Although there was no formal school to learn from, there were numerous accounts of slimepeople who wielded the mind as a weapon. These orbs of slime show proof of that, if not their teachings or techniques. Perhaps there remains more to learn...

Epic loot you say? Why I have a list of items, not to mention future store items that could be added later. See what you like. Other anons can chime in as well.

As for the dungeon, make Bloops targetavle and keep cleric plant. If they kill Bloops, they don't get a slime token, in addition, one heal and one heal only from Cleric plant. Make them choose wisely. Maybe even make them targetable.

Second, the trap for not swinging over the moat should toss the offending party into the moat, not across it. Once someone successfully crisses it, they can cross by any means.

The Lily slime puzzle should go as follows. Have Lily summon food items that she likes/dislikes, if she is given the wrong items, instead of just bomb slimes, drop a cascade of other slimes. Once the slimes are beaten, the team will get the key.

Thats what I have right now. Anons, your thoughts?

>>466938

I don't necessarily like this though. 150% would be the highest, I'd hike it up, but even then, keep in mind, they have more people to heal and that's already going to mean more money for us... maybe.
>>
>>466884
Do we know what kinds of loot we can make with our resources?

>>467002
Well, the harder the challenge, the more we should charge. Like on a sliding scale rate. That way we make more money and they have to hold themselves back.
>>
>>466960

Keep in mind, we don't have enough water runes to produce more ice elementals. That's why we don't have our maid and butler combo right now. Keep in mind though, we can have the ice elemental build a wall to keep it and the mud away from the swords while they bombard the heroes. Otherwise, I don't have a problem with this.

As for what we have defending the cleric plant room, what do people think about this. We create a metal slime and put an explosive slime clone in there to help it. The metal slime makes this armor, while the explosive slime fuses with it, creating a slime that can launch metallic spikes with explosive force.

Alright... A few basic changes have been made. Healing costs have been doubled and for now they can only do one heal each. Also, adding a few slime copies to certain rooms...

>>467061
We can't really make much new but we can shuffle things around. And since basic slimes can split in a nearly infinite amount we do have plenty of those.

Let's see how they deal with this.
-----------------------------------------------------

>The group enters the fountain room. The moment they do Ms. Bloops pops out of the fountain, making happy burbling noises as she watches the Heroes.

>The Wizard approaches the slime, fist engulfed in magical energy.

"Stop!"

>The Psion floats in front of him, arms outspread.

"Out of my way, whelp." The wizard says, "This our first enemy."

"No! You can't kill her! Trust me!"

"This is the Slimecrown Citadel, what are we to do if not kill slimes?"

"You're not supposed to kill all of them, trust me. We need to let this one live. It's harmless on it's own anyway and doesn't even give any experience. Let's just let it go."

".... Very well, girl."

>She breathes a sigh of relief.

"We need to discuss all our actions before we just-"

"TO VICTORY!" The warrior shouts as she runs to the next room.

Say, I've got an idea for the Dance room...

How about we have three of the less fighty members do the dance as normal, but have the BulkMage and Warrior fight off a horde of slimes to defend the dancers? The Dancers earn the key by dancing, but if any slimes get through to them, they start to get weighed down by slimes. As for the other two, they can use their fighting skills to earn some spare tokens for the shop.

What do you guys think?

>The group runs into the next room. Warrior's charred body is laying on the ground and there's been extensive damage done to the room.

"Oh my," The Mage says, "I didn't think I would have to use one of these so soon~"

>She pulls out a feather and throws it into the air above the Warrior. It glows and a strong magic transfers into the Warrior's body She gasps for air and rises from the dead.

"Whoa! I'm back!" The Warrior says, "Thanks, Mage!"

"My pleasure~"

>The Rogue peers over the edge of the pit. Inside the normally calm water is vibrating intensely. A bunch of Explodey open their eyes and wave at him.

"We have to jump over." He says.

"We can't." The Psionic argues, "Try that and we'll be launched back over."

"Really?"

"Yep. So we have to use the rope. It's not hard but if you're wearing armor I imagine it would be more difficult."

"I made it across," The Warrior adds.

"What? Then what happened?"

"I opened a chest and a Mimic pushed me in."

"You opened the chest?"

"Yeah. For loot."

"The one that's breathing loudly?"

"I thought there might be a pet or something in it. Those are rare."

"Merde..."

"Sorry!"

"Alright, so... We'll just cross then. Normally. Everyone agreed?"

>The group nods.

>One by one they manage to cross, but not before Mage uses magic to clean up the rope. They ignore the mimic, not worth it.

I'm not sure how I feel about that revival item...

>>
>>467175

>>
>>467175
Revival Item is fine. We upped the difficulty, they upped the healing. Don't punish the adventurers for coming prepared.

Also, we need to have Curi drop a mount and at least one or two pets drop in the dungeon.
Warrior deserves something nice.

Maybe a Gelatinous Cube Mount and a Slime Pet and a Ice Elemental pet?
>>
>>467187
Nah
>>
>>467175
I dont think you should ban the items yet. If you can, limit them somehow, to like, 3.

>>
>>467175
Ban them from leaving the room alone, they must always be together
>>
>>467175
>Is there any info I should have Cleric Plant pass on?
Inform them that the dungeon is in Raid Mode, and that changes have been made to make it more difficult than normal.
Also, I feel we only need to either limit them to one heal a piece, or to double the price, not both. The point is to keep them from abusing it like in a normal run, not to keep them from using it at all.
>>
>>467175
>Is there any info I should have Cleric Plant pass on?
Tell them to look out for a new rare spawn elite slime! It can be recognized by the golden slimy frame around it's icon.
>>
>>467175
Don't ban items. Announce raid mode. Flood healing room with a variety of lesser slimes.
>>
>>467175
Don't inform them of the addition of a limit on number of heals. Just immediately eat the first person to ask a second time and then sink into the floor.
>>
>>467175
Nah, no need to ban it. They likely won't have many. And one less item used is one less item to use on LSK or Curi.
>>
>>467175
If that feather isn't limited use, it needs to be.
>>
>>467175
Healing costs more now. Also inform them that as they entered as a RAID things will be different. Have the healing rooms flooded with a variety of lesser slimes. If they hit the cleric plant on accident more than 3 times the get aggroed by it.,
>>
>>467198
Yeah, this too.
>>
>>467201

Way too soon for mounts, but a minislime would work. And besides, all of them are going to get something at the end, a useful item and one of those swimsuit, maybe.
>>
>>467198

Defeating said midway boss will provide them with a chance to meet with the dungeon master and access to a special challenge, should they feel brave enough.
>>
>>467216
The announcement of raid mode will inform them that there will be surprise changes. With Punchy McTriggerhappy here we need the advantages we can get.

>Sorcerer isn't here
Muscle Wizard is also kind of a jerk.
But in the murderhobo way rather than the minmaxer way.

Did Mary ever take our suggestion and maker herself some Impressive equips?
If not, shes got the runes for it.
I also think She sould use a water, Metal and FAncy rune to make a Slime Squire/Defender/Noble/Whatever to put in Lily's room
>>
>>467214
I dunno, Mounts work pretty well. Besides, Curi would drop one and they'd have to fight for it.

It's also a fairly common tactic. A mount drops 100% the first world run, or for a limited time. Then the drop is reduced to like 1% permanently.
It'd let them know a mount exists and is here.
>>
>>467175
Keep the healing room relaxed, they have healing...

Epic loot. Well, I /guess/ you could record some lewd black label stuff. Are any of your employees willing to do tentacle with the thing in the basement?

IT'S TIME FOR THE RALLY SLIME
>>
>>467239
That's kind of a dick move, bro.

Pushing teamwork, then having them fight each other at the end will only cause them to tell others that there's a big prize, but only for one person, causing a bunch of jerks to preemptively fight each other for the big prize.
>>
>>467266
Honestly, I think everyone should get something useful to them. Then if a mount or pet drops, it should only be one of them, making them roll for it/decide who gets it however.
That way, they aren't screwed out of loot, but to get the cool stuff they have to come back.
>>
>>467263
Yeah, no thanks. Greed belongs be a trap in the dungeon, not a trap in the reward.
>>
>>467215
...that's actually totally reasonable. They won't want to abuse the heals, and if they do, we get paid bigtime.
>>
>>467270
We can also have an alternative to loot is a number to tokens for them to use in our shop.
>>
>>467175

Man, it'd really help if we understood anything about loot generation. Curi creates loot when she dies right?

>When they enter the next room the Wizard tenses up the moment he spots the Cleric Plant. The Cleric Plant simply smile back.

"Welcome," She informs them, "To the hub of the dungeon. Here you can rest and recuperate while you prepare for the challenges ahead. In order to fight the final boss of the dugneon, The Mother Of Slimes, you must emerge victorious from four trials. Then, after beating her, another challenge awaits for the truly brave of heart.

I should warn you, however, that you are in Raid Mode. This means that the dungeon itself will be much more difficult. I know you are all repeat adventurers here so I say this, do not rely on what worked before.

I will also heal any who come to me for the low price of 50 Gold. However, the price will increase with each subsequent heal. You may also rest at our spa for a small fee."

"There's a spa now? The Mage says.

"The whole layout looks different." Says the Rogue.

>The Psion looks around. She was here most recently and even she is a bit confused by the new layout.

"We need to stick together." She pulls up her minimap. "Let's try this room first."

>She points to the Ice Elemental room.

>>467298
You can change the amount of loot and what kind that a Boss Monster drops. It's made free of charge and is purely for the Heroes.

If we want to add more treasure to the dungeon we have to spend gold or runes.

Also, the Ice Elemental room only contains the Ice Elemental and a number of Mud Slimes. It might be a bit easy for the group.

What kind of changes should we make?
>>
Add psion slimes. Their job is to fling mud slimes at people and deflect projectiles away from the ice elementals.
>>
>>467175
>Is there any info I should have Cleric Plant pass on?
Have Cleric Plant talk to Muscle Wizard as he enters. Something like asking him if he's come for a rematch. Basically, goad him into picking a fight with Cleric Plant and thereby screwing his group out of healing, but in a subtle way so that everyone can agree it was his fault, not yours.

>>466947

There's already a whole class of slime-based psionic items. Though most of them don't need you to be a psion to benefit from them, and I'm not sure how Psion would react to them.

>>
>>467330
Can't we use more elementals or we need more runes? Because if we can he best is more elementals and maybe string slimes to trap the adventurers. String+mud is probably a nightmare for a low armor fighter.
>>
>>467341
Have them fling exploding slimes every so often too.
>>
>>467330
Can we create an extra ice elemental? That an how many explody slimes can we hide in there?

Oh yea, can slimes use range weapons, like bows , crossbows or guns?
>>
>>467348
We can just have1 elemental there but everything in the room is to trap the adventurers.
>>
>>467330
could we add a water run to the ide elemental quickly?

If not, why not add in a few comfy slimes that will make everyone comfy?
>>
>>467330
Throw in a few MageSlimes chucking Iceballs and casting freezing touch, and one or two ComfySlimes on the ceiling to drop on the mages.
>>
>>467330

Okay. So, this is what you do:

> Before they enter, Ice elemental erects a barrier near their side of the room.
> Mud slimes multiply behind it, fortifying the barricade.
> Ice elemental then begins creating slime
> Explody clones stand behind these in order to produce explosive projectile force
> Psion slime is there for guidance. Multiply as much as possible, and put one psion clone with Lily clone to prevent her being mind controlled.
>>
>>467330
>the Ice Elemental room only contains the Ice Elemental and a number of Mud Slimes
I thought we had two elementals in there. Have I been thinking that room was harder than it is this whole time?
>>
>>467330
>Also, the Ice Elemental room only contains the Ice Elemental and a number of Mud Slimes. It might be a bit easy for the group.
Give the Ice Elemental a Mind rune. Focus on telekinesis powers and reinforcement (i.e. making ice more durable).
>>
>>467359
Don't have enough water runes. We could make a Earth Elemental out of the two Stone Runes though.
>>
>>467344
>Basically, goad him into picking a fight with Cleric Plant and thereby screwing his group out of healing, but in a subtle way so that everyone can agree it was his fault, not yours.

No, that just will piss off the group. We're aiming for fun but challenging, not tricking them.
>>
>>467362
There's always been just the one.

But you know what? Adding another one in there later on sounds like a good idea.
>>
>>467369
That would work.
We'll add air and fire too ones later, when we need to up the difficulty some more.
>>
>>467330
Make a few other elementals to help icy out.
>>
>>467330
>"Welcome," She informs them
>She
I'm starting to think that this plant is actively changing its gender every episode simply to fuck with us.

Also, to make the room more difficult, I'd say increase the number of Mud Slimes and add some Explodeys, who will Allahu Akbar anyone trapped by the mud slimes.
>>
>>467369
Let's do this, plus a wood elemental with the two wood runes.

And make some drops with a fancy and a cloth rune.
>>
>>467377
>>467369
>>467353

It's been said we can't make new rooms, monsters, etc. We can only reallocate stuff that has already been made.
>>
>>467375
If we can make a full set of elementals being backed up with slimes that are empowered by the elements that a line with an elemental would make a nice theme.
>>
>>467385
Yeah, let's make drops too.
>>
>>467389
>It's been said we can't make new rooms, monsters, etc.
>>467078
>We can't really make much new
That implies there are some things it's okay to make, but most things are not.

Either way, since we've upped the difficulty with Raid Mode, we should up the amount of treasure in chests, even if it's just gold.
>>
>>467361
I like this the best. Seems the most conclusive plan so far. If they break through the wall, have the remaining slimes bull rush any damaged heroes.

That said, if we can add a psionic to the ice elemental, we should.

I'd say the following would be awesome:

> Living shield: The Ruler of Slimecrown Citadel wears a metallic slime for armor when she must. (Metal + Water Runes)
> Staff of Authority: A simple staff displaying Mary's authority (Magic + Wood)
> Cape of the Conqueror: We already have a bitchin' cape. Maybe it's already magic.

>There's a moment of tension as the two teams stare each other down.

>Rogue is taken out nearly instantly as a Mud Slime grips his feet and keeps him firmly in place. He looks at Mage with pleading eyes but she's busy.

>In fact, they all are. Each ice spike shot out from the Elemental has impressive force. It takes all they have to block it. The mages and psionics may have impressive DPS but when on the defense they can do little but block. Any one of these could be the end of them.

>All of their power is focused on destroying the icicles, but they are created just as fast as they can block.

>>
>>467737
Because Demonologist is best girl. However she can't exist without a proper DM in charge of the dungeon, which means she can't stay DM when Mary leaves.

"Heroes," Oilivia says, "If you would like we have a shop set up for brave people like you who have faced the dungeon before. Follow me~"

>Oilivia leads them to the Token Shop. Demonologist is manning it.

"Welcome to the shop," She says, "We have serveral items for sale. They all cost various amounts of tokens. Here is a list of the different things." She pulls out a list of the items available.

She's a bit deadpan...
Wait, where did she get that outfit? I didn't approve of this!

"Nothing."

Alright, this should work...

>When the group enters the next room, Curi greets them.

"Greetings, Heroes. I am Curi, Mother of Slimes. But don't worry, in this room I am not going fight you. No, instead I present you with a simple question. Do you think you can slime?"

>Everyone but Warrior just sighs.

"Also, for those who do not wish to dance there is an... Extra challenge. Would any like to take it?"

"Does it involve fighting?" Wizard asks.

"Yes."

"In" "In!" Both Wizard and Warrior shout.

"Very well... The let us begin!"

>>467869
>The music begins and the moment it does Slimes fill the room. Warrior and Wizard hold them at bay while the rest of the group fights. The non-combatants have to focus entirely on the slimes dancing before them, lest they miss a beat. They have to trust their allies.

>Their trust is well placed as the pair manage to beat and pummel every slime thrown at them.

>Curi watches, pleased that her slimes, even in their weakened forms, can provide a challenged. She's also pleased that she can even feel something like pride. It is not often a simple slime is elevated to such a level. She makes a note to hug Mary later.

>Warrior is about to cleave another slime in half when something stops her blade. There is a -thwack- as the steel sword connects with a wooden back.

>Ruth catches the swing, pulls back, and aims a hit at the Warrior. She has just enough time to jump back as the bat whistles through the air.

"What is that?" Warrior asks.

"An enemy."

>The two jump back into battle. Try as they might they can not harm Ruth. She blocks all of their attacks with her bat, smacking them away as she would anything else.

"She keeps blocking us!"

"Indeed... My magical punches can't connect with her. What is that bat made out of."

What is it made out of..?

While Larro is out, people had discussed creating a sort of "dungeon" beneath the citadel. How does this look for a conceptual first basement that would go beneath the tower in the linked post? Basically, the thematic is that the Slimecrown Citadel has moving parts and other things going on which are "powered" by a boiler below that set atop a deep descending, inverted spire that works its way down to the boss.
>>
>>468109
Whatever we do, if we do it, it needs a better layout.
>>
>>468118

That's fair. As of right now, I was thinking of using four chambers worth of challenges to activate an elevator further down. Then again, maybe it's not worth thinking about at the moment.
>>
>>468109
I'm not really sure. In my head, I figured we would have another dungeon set underneath it, one involving fire monsters who lived in a tribal sort of organization. Since SlimeCrown is more of a monarchy, the fire monsters would be united as groups of tribes, and both sides would of course be opposed to each other, the Slimes representing Lawful, the Fire Monsters Chaotic. Neither side truly evil, but still incompatible.

Also, if we were to do that, we'd need to figure out what the opposite of Fancy runes are. Brutal, maybe, or possibly Rough?
>>
>>468109
I had an Idea of a tougher challenge but with a twist. More accurately, and shaft. And elevator shaft. The heros get on a large lift that will lower them down to the super tough boss monster we got. but as they descend, there is the main cable/rope in the center of the room. Our slimes will go after the heros but more importantly, they will try to reach the rope to cut it. if it gets cut, the elevator will fall beyond the boss room and into deadly spikes. so it's a race to stop the slimes/monsters and survive the final boss. This would be a mostly 'head right to the final boss' mode.
>>
>>468132
The opposite of Fancy is 'plain' or 'boring'.

I suggest making the Fire monsters bureaucrats on par with the ones in Futurama.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgVcSrXXU1s
>>
>>468133

Hellevator is a classic, but maybe a bit more buildup to it would be best. Like, you could basically fight your way down through another series of brutal rooms and puzzles before you wind up on the platform. Consequently, my preference would be riding a platform on a magma flow down to the boss while being attacked by anything and everything hopping on and trying to put an end to you.
>>
>>468132
What about the sewers of slime citadel, or below it the lost city that the citadel was built on top of.
>>
>>468109
Still partial to a jail/prison with Slimecrown's biggest criminals. With each boss/miniboss being some foul beast.

I also want to float an idea for the future. When we build up eventually. We'll have a big dining hall and kitchen right? We should see if we can set up a trapped room that is a garbage chute. The victims then get tossed into the garbage room and fight some sort of creature lurking among the scraps of food and waste. They get out upon monster defeat. Basically its our take on Star Wars. Thoughts?
>>
>>468152

Which was run by a skeletal overlord, hence why I was thinking of making it a skull (>>468109).
>>
>>468133
>GD.wad
I approve.
>>
>>468152
dude, your name is still frustrated Midget advisor from the other thread.
>>
>>468155

I think having that as a hidden, optional boss, or making that part of a speed run strat for the underlevels could be fun. However, I want the dining area next to the healing fountain and the shops. It's where we are going to make sales.
>>
>>468155
How about a primordial bone yard full of the skeletons of dragons and other great beasts who've been rendered down to a primal goo from which slimes arise, hell the slimes could even puppet/animate the bones to form a boss.
>>
>>468162
I was thinking more an ornate banquet hall. Which is seperate from dining. Just for the theme, not as a service. Maybe some angry dining guests that don't like being disturbed while eating, etc.
>>
>>468152
What about the sewers of slime citadel, or below it the lost city that the citadel was built on top of.

Sure! The first could be our sewer dungeon. Every D&D game and fantasy RPG needs one.

As for the Lost City, that one will be like DLC. Related to the plot tangentially, but not necessary to the main story. Again, I'd like the Lost City under The Crown to be mostly fire based and tribal (or maybe even devolved, like feral elementals), but that's something to be fleshed out later.
>>
>>468169
This about the underbase, or the garbage room idea?
>>
>>468173
Either one really.
>>
>>468176
Well, the puppet idea had been talked about before. But with an armour suit. Its solid in principle though.
>>
>>468160
Shit.
>>
>>468192
With the side option of the Hellivator, I think we're onto a solid plan here guys.
>>
>>468192
Ooh... a room littered with the tattered remains of adventurers with armor lying all over and the slimes animate the equipment as individual soldiers or put the armor together into an armored slime dragon.
>>
>>468207
For downstairs, yeah. We should build up first.
>>
>>468192
>>468207
>>468215
>>468217

Agreed that we should build up first, but so, are people are wanting more of a sewer level than a boiler, fire elemental core beneath the citadel? Maybe both?

Do we need and/or want fancy concept maps for this?
>>
>>468229
Lets start with the sewer first. It goes with the slime theme.
>>
>>468229
Hmm sewer first, then build up... but to what... a hydroponic garden level?
>>
>>468241
Something involving wind elementals, maybe? Realms of the Cumulus Kings?
>>
>>468250
Realms of the Cum King, eh?
>>
>>468241
>>466920

I made this as sort of a pitch for what the overall topside configuration of the dungeon could look like. You have the nice central courtyard garden with a spa, food, shopping, and sort of innocent slime games with "So You Think You Can Slime" and "The Slime Playground". That's right past a water jumping puzzle and maybe a side puzzle room off to the side with water jets.

Anyway, this transitions into the more combat heavy encounter towers with Lily and RSK and Frosty and Ms. Mud.

With their keys, you can then access the citadel proper, which can have as many levels as we want until it gets to Curie's boss room.
>>
>>468229
Build up. Underground sewer plans first, when we go underground.
>>
>>468253
...

Fine. I walked into that bear trap of an innuendo joke.

Not like I know that much about clouds to avoid it...
>>
>>468255
I think the ideal configuration would be slime all the way down as a central spire, with themed non-slime subdungeons as offshoots.
>>
>>468267

See, what I want is to separate out the dungeon into the fun, light-hearted section and the hardcore, combat section. With the rooms we have available and the theme we have predominating right now, I think that configuration works well.

>>468241

A giant, water clock tower that combines combat, puzzle solving, and platforming.
>>
>>468274
huh... heres an idea, on the top floor we have a massive warp portal that leads to a pocket dimension. then we can have just about any environment we want for the end boss at the top, I'd say an ocean, that way we can have a beach to use the swimsuit loot items at
>>
>>468309

My thought was actually have the very pinnacle of the tower unlock a grate at the very base, granting access to the dungeon level. For the most EXTREME option, you can then dive from the top of the tower into the pool at the bottom to reach the next level.
>>
>>468325
That could be fun, mostly I just wanted a way to work in a beach location/ have a huge ocean sized slime boss.

>>
>>468489
She's only one rune...

Shit, man, we've found our general for the slime army.
>>
>>468491
Nah man. Not Ruth herself. Just her bat.
>>
>>468495
>>468492
We should offer Ruth's Bat as the Epic Raid Treasure.
>>
>>468501
Well, I did copy down what one anon suggested Ruth's Bat would be up here>>466960
>>
>>468501

...

No. That belongs to Ruth. At best, they'll get a copy made out of a wood rune.

>Warrior lets out a battle cry and charges.

"Zzzzzzzzz."

>Ruth is in a puddle on the floor, sleeping.

"I... What...?"

"Congratulations!" Curi gestures to the exhausted dancers. "The challenge is complete~ You did a great job, all of you!"

"Ah... But..."

>She looks back at the slime. She's definitely napping.

"...."

>Curi gives everyone a token for participating.

>Another feather is used to revive the Wizard.

"We have one left." Mage announces.

"The next fight shouldn't be too hard." Psionic says. "We're going to fight a mini-boss."

Ah, they're going to face Royal Slime Knight and Lily.

Any changes?
>>
>>468501
Let's wait for an adventurer who uses clubs and maces before we do that one.

Maybe a paladin or cleric...
>>
>>468509
It's already Mahou Shoujo Lily, isn't it? If they trigger the Fusion stage they'll be facing a slime with unprecedented strength.
>>
>>468509

Lily isn't as vulnerable as she was. However...

> Ask Lily to arm the floor with a large number magical traps
>>
>>468509
Have several lilies in that room.
>>
>>468509
Make a small party vs party fight with Plant Cleric, Slime Knight, and bomb slimes
>>
>>468509
Change the lily copy to magical slime lily.
And add some mage slimes there as adds.
>>
>>468509
Not really, maybe add some boss music to make the battle more thematic, and one or two mage slimes as backup for Lily.

If it gets to the third stage, maybe have LSK aim for Warrior for a bit, make her out as a rival.

its magic lily now, so I imagine that we should make it more difficult.

Can we we do anything to last minute upgrade the slime knight? Give it some lily/slime statues to heal from in the room? A bigger sword? Some sort of lily magic to buff it?
>>
>>468509
Let's keep it simple for this one, Magic Lily and Royal Knight combo will be fairly tough, and if/when they fuse the adventurers are gonna have a Bad Time.
>>
>>468509
>>468522
Ooh i like that idea hero party vs slime party
Magical Slime Lily, Royal Slime Knight, Cleric plant and another magic slime.
>>
>>468509
Slime Party
>>
>>468509
Wow, I figured they would go for Pull the lever puzzle.

Well, I guess we should figure out what Lily will do. The obvious thing to do is Lily will buff the protection on herself and RSK to try and keep their cores safe. She should beam spam as well to try and keep the non melee members at bay.

And proceed as normal for the fight. But when we get Lily Mage Knight. She has to cast geyser at least once.
>>
>>468534
>>468509

I was thinking that if they defeat LSK, cleric plant heals them one last time before entering battle with all of the slimes we have left (including the ones we have summoned by Curi).

Basically an, I'm sorry, but your journey ends here, deal.
>>
>>468509
Lily is pretty Strong at this point, so the only thing id do is add some fodder slimes. maybe some more lillys
>>
>>468509
Fill the room with knee deep water to hamper the hero's movements and possibly increase the slime's mobility. Should help even the odds without the need to add more enemies.
>>
>>468540
Let's save Cleric plant heal for Curi instead.
>>
>>468540
It would be fine. But they still have to pull the lever...
>>
>>468509
I say leave it as is.
Let Lily show off her new powers.
>>
Say, should we let Lily and RSK have item drops? I figure that they're our most remembered battle (so far, we'll see how Curi does soon), some adventurers might like some unique drops based off of what they wield.
>>
Also, should we allow Plant Cleric to give revivals at twice the cost of heals? I kind of want to see them beat Curi...
>>
>>468562
I think they should at some point. Someone suggested Lily's Slime Sword. But thats too good to use until LSK is a full on boss.

We'd have to get creative at some point.
>>
>>468509
>>468517

Also might need to throw in two magic slimes (one from Curi, one from reserves) as backup, but mostly to reinforce the cutscene where they fuse.
>>
>>468567
That may be wise. Though I think Lily casting resistance spells may help a bit to keep the knight protected.
>>
>>468566
I dunno, the Raid description did mention epic lootz, and a sword like that would be pretty epic...
>>
>>468575
Hell, you could give them the whole set.
All of the clothing, Lily's accessories, Lily's staff, matching rings
>>
>>468575
>>468566

I say that if they can beat LSK with two caster slimes as support, they earn at least one item of loot. Similarly, if we match them against cleric plant and gang, they unlock a tiny healing slime companion that can basically provide one full heal before it's exhausted per day. And Curi, of course, drops things.

I'll put in some magical slimes but, yeah, I think it's tough as is.

>Mary can see the group huddled together and whisper for a while. She tries to listen in but can't hear a thing. They break and march towards Lily's room.

>The door is thrown open, Lily smiles from her throne.

"Fufufu... Welcome, heroes, to my d-"

"GET HIM!"

>The group rushes at Royal Slime Knight and begins attacking him all at once with everything they want. He is instantly slaughtered.
>>
>>468575
I was always under the impression that the raid item would come into play after beating Curi. But that's just me.
>>
>>468589
Well, can't really blame them.
>>
>>468580
The set should probably be hidden behind an invisible wall, for the rings, though, that's for when ShotaRogue nuts up and asks MilfMage out. Also, I'll see about working on that later after Larro decides it's sleepytime, because right now I'm on the edge of my seat for the upcoming LMK fight.

>>

7 rune miniboss incoming!!
I love how the miniboss has more runes in it than our actual final boss.
>>
>>468618
And imagine what our actual boss can do in a room that fits her.
>>
We should work on making a Slime Doppelganger before the raid reaches the final boss so that Currie will be able to summon some in her fight.
>>
>>468631
Actually, one of Curi's abilities is that she can create any slime we have already made on her own. So she can and will do exactly that.
>>
>>468632
Yes but we haven't made a Slime Doppelganger I thought, unless I missed something. That's why I'm suggesting mixing one together real quick.
>>
>>468634

We can't make new monsters during a run.
>>
>>468634
Well, the other issue is the fact that we seemingly cannot build more monsters right now during the raid. Which seems fair.
>>
>>468634
I don't think we can do that while adventurers are in the dungeons. The best we might be able to do is to tell Curi to ask her minions to look like the opposing team.

Oi mates heres a thought. Before they end up going to Jeffrey, and since we have to appear anyway if they make it, why don't we give them the chance to take their special raid items and go, or fight the basement boss and die. If they lose the items, but survive long enough to get a glimpse of the thing, they can come back and give a description of it to get their special item/tokens/special gift, possible slime pet. >>
>>468707
RSK and Lilly is a pretty serious miniboss and a large portion of this party remembers getting there shit kicked in by them once already. Can't hate them for sound tactics. I do think interrupting the monologue was rude though.
>>
>>468715
that's the point though- they enter a miniboss room- the intro cinematic starts and when it ends the fight begins. Even if their tactic of 'get him' was the same, its a different matter of mobbing the knight once the miniboss's bit has been done.

They decided to kill the miniboss during the 'cut scene' - every time characters have done shit 'against the rules of etiquette' -attacking during the minigames, attacking the cleric plant- they've gotten their shit wrecked for breaking these rules. And they willingly chose to not even let the dungeon master's thematic introductions happen so they can insta gib the fight.

So, yeah...

no.

Fuck them and let this be a lesson to them and everyone else.
>>
>>468699
Thanks so much for drawing and writing!
>>
>>468707
I'll say that one death is enough for them to realize not to interrupt their social betters, and a good solid thrashing for the rest should teach them that particular bit of wisdom. We need the dungeon to be punishing, but survivable.

Also, having them use their final feather is good, that way they'll be extra cautious for Curi's battle.

Also also, having them heal up at our Plant Cleric will give us a bit more of a windfall, so keep them up.
>>
>>468726
See, I get wanting to be able to fight Curi. I want to see her fight, too. But if they manage to get through this with a full party? They will not have learned anything except 'bring a bigger party and kill them both at the same time before they can do their spiel.'

Two members down- even with the use of the feather two staying down, minimum with lily or mary leaving them the remark about having some etiquette, if we choose to let them survive, let alone win.
>>
>>468722
I mean if we really wanted to make Lilly and RSK invulnerable until Lilly finishes her monologue I'm sure there is a way to do it (I feel like that's Lilly's prerogative and something to talk to her about afterward), but punishing them for attacking what is expressly an enemy they are meant to fight seems silly to me.
>>
>>468722

I can respect their practicality, but Lily is within her rights to fight to the fullest extent of her capabilities (that and we have no practical way to stop her). However, Psion has otherwise been very willing to play by our rules, even encouraged her party members to do so. That's why I think having Ms. Bloops pop up under one of the tiles and offer her a little boost to get back in the fight is fine.
>>
>>468671
Maybe have a timer before Lily becomes "unstable"? Or she could do that periodically, be vulnerable.
>>
>>468729
Pretty sure the terror of a full powered Lily insta-KOing a teamate is good enough. I think that the bigger problem is allowing the whole "Interruptible Cutscene" thing in the first place. Let's see about putting a compulsion spell about having to watch the whole cutscene on the first visit to a new or upgraded boss.

As for them not learning their lesson, what lesson have they learned from this? "Interrupt the cutscene and try to kill them both at the same time" is what I'm gathering it is. Especially because no-one is telling the adventurers what they did wrong in the first place. That's like, Parenting 101, and it's something that we never did for them. Small wonder they're going for cheap tactics.
>>
>>468737
I dunno how we can have Bloopers help out now but maybe later we can have a stockpile of those Phoenix Downs and she can offer a free res to any party that spares her, especially if our Miniboss is this badass.
>>
Aww, man, I can already see how this fight ends.
Lily destroys the rest of the team, with Mage being the last to live, who manages to sneakily get off one last revive before dying.
The revived Warrior then backstabs Queen Lily in the back with a stabbing implement.
>>
>>468743
We should put up a sign
>>
>>468760
I was thinking more of a request made by Cleric Plant, something about not interrupting the actors, that kind of jazz.
>>
>>468671
Nah, it's fine.
It's their own fault for not kiting the knight or blocking Lily despite being aware that she will absorb the knight.
You can't expect to clear a raid if you can't handle basic crowd control.

We could have Ms.Blobs save the last party member alive though.
>>
>>468790
this desu

I've no problem with them interrupting the merger, it's a perfectly valid strategy when dealing with fusion sluts and it was decent enough thinking on their part. Too bad they didn't plan ahead more. Could've had the psion or wizard throw someone ahead to tank/block one from the other or cast a wall spell or something.

Besides, we already knew they'd be rude when we saw they brought Big McLargeHuge with them, and cutscenes can get tiring to watch more than once so there should be an option to skip them. We'll tell the minions to watch out next time so they can dodge better. Maybe have some psi-slimes (pslimes?) put up a forcefield so the interrupts aren't quite as deadly.

Also, totally on board with Ms. Blobs helping friendly adventurers when they're in a pinch.

We totally need to add more chests and mimics by the way. The one mimic we have is super bland. Maybe we can make it a slimy mimic, like an acidic oyster chest. Maybe put one more room between each puzzle/mid-boss room and the cleric room, put in some lesser mooks and a chest/mimic. Half of it is actual treasure, the other half is mimics, and they switch positions every time someone visits.
>>
Looking at how this party operates seems reminiscent of how I sometimes play D&D. Sometimes there is one or two fighty-type people who goes on ahead and springs everything

>>468794
Acidic oyster eh

I love me some clothing damage!
>>
>>468671
I think its pribably a good idea to maybe not make it baby mode, but definitely time to soften the blows a bit to make it more of an exciting/even combat. Ditching the two mage slimes for one, and making a more dicernable pattern should do the trick. I want this to be hard but not something that is spoonfed to our friends here.

Lets see them coordinate a strategy to see if they can pull something off now.

Remember that they still actually have two rooms to get through now, the Lily levers and Curi. So it would be kind of nice to see them try, so that we can get better intel about what we need to do to improve the dungeon.
>>
>>468821
Oh, a good thing to give them a breather would be to have Queen Lily taunt them so they can at least get in formation.

If that's not enough, have Ms. Bloops give them a potion or something.

If that's also not enough, they can all die and fuck off because they came with 5 people. That's too many for a regular run but too few for a proper raid run. Pretty much their fault. They should be glad we didn't have all the monsters quadruple in every stat like they normally would.
>>
>>468833

Yeah, shit like that works too. I mean, 3-5 seconds sound a bit too much, but I dunno how big the geysers are in relation to the room and how often she can cast it or if she can delayed cast it a few times in a row and how agile a few of these guys are, so I guess numbers are pretty meaningless, regardless of how much all that shit hurts me in the autism.
>>
>>468794
I've been toying with the idea that we could tell them that the cleric isn't actually stuck in the room and can move around if they ask her to, but that might seem like a cash grab.
I'd rather someone who's thinking outside the box will figure that out themselves.
>>
>>468845
I agree that that's the sort of thing that should be rewarded for cleverness.

>>
>>468840
Yeah. I just used 3-5 as a random metric. But the crux of it is more that there should be some sort of warning when it will happen. A visual clue. We never really set Lily's attack parameters. Have the ocasional geyser cast, in between a bit of melee here and there so that heroes can get into the flow of combat. Its like a dance, but more fighty.

>>
>>468848
Well, do remember that it's something that does cost a lot of money to do, so I doubt a whole lot of people would even go for it even if they figured it out.

Like, if you're clever and did this in an optimized manner, you wouldn't use the cleric plant heals until Lily Queen is up.
Then you'd try to keep the knight and Lily kited from eachother in order to prevent lily queen from being formed and in order to not bankrupt yourself, you'd use the cleric plants heals at minimum price to make the fight as easy as possible.

However, if someone figures that out, we'll just add a cooldown to cleric plant or add traps or something.
Traps on a place where you gotta kite is a bit dickish though.
>>
>>468858
Yeah, but so is kiting.

The secret twist: Only the two or three traps nearest the boss damage her (lightly, but they're showy about it) at all. The ones elsewhere in the room actually buff/heal Lily if she hits them, while still incapacitating the heroes.
The goal is for Lily to hit a damaging trap early, giving the heroes the idea to trick her into the other traps, and as a result unintentionally make the fight even harder.
>>
>>468862
Kiting is a valid strat to use however. Bit dickish to the DM but makes sense.

If nothing else we need to let Lily go full ham! or slime. Or whatever we would consider.
Give them a fight for the books as a warmup for Curi.

And on that note we also need to make our appearance as well, should we go ahead and join curi then in her boss room?
>>
>>468890
Well, Mary really has no fighting experience, so I think maybe we have her wait for the adventurers after the Curi boss fight to personally give out their treasures, then have her stick around for a Q&A session with them.
>>
>>468890
>>468909

Even then, the person in charge of the dungeon appearing might just make them think they have one more enemy to fight if only because its a raid and one more challenge wouldn't be out of the question.

Hopefully dropping a pile of loot at their feet when appearing would alleviate those fears though, if we do have to make an appearance. Also, maybe make some defensive gear before hand or walk in with a mage slime casting a barrier spell on her just in case.
>>
>>468920
Well, we could always equip a music slime to play victory music as we enter. Not to mention using a magic telecom to offer our congratulations to the party.
>>
>>468937
"Victors of the Adventure Team, leave now, and rest! You've... Earned it!"
>>
>>468909
Could really ham up our auditor origins. Stealing their equipment could be a thing as well.
>>
>>468954
Bankruptcy (multi-item taking) costs a lot of mana to learn. We'd have to use Audit one item at a time to get most of their stuff, and be dodging attacks and spells while we do it.
>>
>>468954
Equipment theft has never been an enjoyable game mechanic.
>>
>>468963
Do we have to be in their line of sight to do it, though? I meant it more along the lines of taking away the revival item right now, before they have a chance to use it. Can't help being greedy.

>>468966
Agreed.

>>
>>468952
I was thinking that once they fail on this run. We should at least award them a single token each for being the first timer to even do a raid on us. As a show of good will or something.
>>
>>468984
Line of sight seems to be the main thing. I guess it's some sort of legal issue, like having someone serve you a request to come to court.
>>
>>468984
Nah man, let them use the revival item when it happens. They won't have anymore after this, and, although I am more for easing up the challenge here, most are going for a keep up the pace approach, so in all likelyhood, they will still be down at least one part member after using the phoenix down. No need to take it. We should just use audit defensively for now.
>>
>>469002
Isn't she metal?
>>
>>469004
Toss only one token at the group. Just one. Let them figure out who gets it.
>>
>>469002
Looks pretty spiffy, I'd say.
>>
>>469009
Maybe before, but now she's a Queen Slime so I don't think Metal would fit.
>>
>>469010
I can see that for later runs, the first ones to do attempt a challenge should get a bit more. If they WIN this, they should get more than just a single token each.
>>469017
Silver then?
>>
>>469020
Oh we'll be giving them stuff. For one, I figure that this fight, once beaten, is worth 2 tokens per player at least. And maybe we can toss some gold back their way or craft a basic magic item or two to pop as loot.

Curi is probably worth 3 plus her drops.
>>
>>469025
>once beaten
Pfft. My money's on queenie. #crownbitches4lyfe
>>
>>469028
First rule of DMing. Always expect your monsters to be beaten and your puzzles to be solved.

And hey, if they win, you can bet they'll feel pretty happy that they pulled it off.
>>
>>468671
One of the themes of the dungeon is that kindness is rewarded and rudeness is punished.

They decided to interrupt the intro where you were going to explain how things were different (That is a thing we should do for raids, btw), so they have to live with the consequences.

Really, this is supposed to be a two-stage fight. They tried to skip the second stage, but they fucked it up and suffered a harder fight.

What they SHOULD have done is let the intro play out, listen to the explanation, then break into teams and fight the knight and princess on their own.
All they had to do was keep them away from each other and beat both of them at about the same time. Then they wouldn't have had to deal with the fusion, and they would have had a chance to skip the rage mode.
>>
They use cheese then they must pay the price

Let them deal with full force of what queen can push out
>>
>>469065
I am starting to think that we should have miss bloop hold up a sign explaining some things about our dungeon. That and the door to the rest of the dungeon closed and locked till they read the fine print.
>>
>>469071
Well, realistically, that is Plant Cleric's job. Perhaps after the reviews come out and before the next party comes in, we should create a script for Ashley(my name for her) to read out.
>>
Is it bad that I want us to use Curi as a mount for the Final boss fight while we use the swimsuit gear?
>>
>>469089
I preferred the idea of the golden slime suit for her.
>>
Would we be resurrected if they kill us during a raid?
>>
>>469099
As of right now. It appears to be a hazy no at this point.
>>
>>469099
For that matter, can we rez our dead monsters and move them to other rooms to get more use out of them?
>>
>>469099
So no fighting then

We go in with a suit and clipboard and just grill them on their experiences with us but we keep a couple of bodyguards with us then
>>
>>469092
Sounds good to me.

How do we plan on having Curi fight as Raid boss?
>>
>>469129
Have her be a minion spammer. Every once in a while, have an Explody slime come up, right as she begins summoning a new batch. Have it detonate near her during that summoning action causes her to get stunned for about four or five seconds as she reforms from the blast.
>>
>>469116
>but we keep a couple of bodyguards with us then
Bring Ruth.
>>
>>469157
Nah. No need for kiddie gloves. No reason to have explody have friendly fire.

If nothing else have her spawn an explody each minion spawn. they wanted a challenge. give it to them.
>>
>>469158
That's a good idea. They'll be too scared to try anything funny.
>>
>>469157
Given how fast they were capable of killing Slime Knight, four or five seconds is a bit much.
Maybe two or three
>>
>>469129
I like to imagine her Boss room as a dance hall where all of the other slimes are partying; where half the challenge is making it to her in the first place. Though I don't think we ever really hammered out any details on how her fight should go.

Since we haven't even had her as a regular fight its hard to say how the raid should go. Though personally I'd like to see if we can't do something ridiculous like create fusions of our regular slimes to basically send out mini-bosses as part of the minion swarm.
>>
>>469165
That sounds good to me. We can do fine tuning based on feedback, and remove the ability for slimes to fuse for the non-raid version.
>>
>>469157
Nah. The heroes should play tennis with Explody.
>>
>>469129
Put some Music Slimes in the room to provide dramatic background music (and also buffs).

When the fight begins, start off by summoning all the slime types that we haven't used in the dungeon. Particularly Oil Slimes, since we can't use them for anything else.

When Curi's HP gets low, summon a number of (heavily nerfed) Lily Slimeknights equal to the number of adventurers still standing, and have each attack a different member of the party. While the party is busy, have Curi stop attacking and focus on regenerating health.
>>
>>469065
>One of the themes of the dungeon is that kindness is rewarded and rudeness is punished
Nah. That's just Ms. Bloops.
>>
>>469181
> Lily Slimeknight is a boss. You can't put two bosses in the same room.
Regular three rune magic slime knight might be good once we have some, but right now I don't think they're needed. We need to add something later after all, our dungeon is know. For being changed often.
>>
>>469189
Maybe not kindness, but courtesy is important, especially when dealing with Royal slimes. Being rude to one of those has consequences.
>>
>>469214
Remember that one time someone was kind enough to give Lily money and she just made them explode?

Yeah, with royal slimes, you lose either way.
>>
On a completely different track. I would propose a new mode for the dungeon. "I come in peace" mode. No monsters, no traps, no loot. Most of the dungeon is close off, but direct access to our spa, store and healing is open. Also, in this mode we can a new room. The 'Front Office' for taking in direct comments about our dungeon, complaints/praise/comments about our non combat services and to open deals/trad with merchants so we can buy/sell to legit dealers for more supply and what not. Heck, be able to sell soft drinks might help boost sells altogether.
>>
>>469205
>You can't put two bosses in the same room.
That's why I said heavily nerfed. Besides, I'm not sure a 5-rune monster would be able to summon the full strength version of a 6-rune monster anyway.

If we ever get Doppelganger Slimes, Curi should summon them instead.
>>
>>469226
Well in addition to Lily Slimeknight being a boss level monster, she's also a kinda unique monster. That's why I think more generic Magic Slime Knights would work better, at least until we figure out how to summon doppelgangers.
>>
>>469221
He didn't give her money, he tried to bribe her like she was a petty guard.
>>
>>469181
At 50% health she starts spawning 10 oil slimes followed by one explody as a set twice then goes back to her usual attack pattern.

At 25% she should start spawning lilly slimes and mage/psion/music slimes continuously to help overwhelm the party.

When you go raid mode go BIG or go home.
>>
>>469255
What do normal Lily slime do in combat?
We gave Lily prime a magic rune to make her more formidable, but I don't remember what she was doing prior to that.
>>
>>469268
She can heal other slimes (Mainly metal slime knight.)

Imagine the freakout when the lilies start healing Curi.
>>
I'm still baffled by how Ruth was able to hold her own against the warrior. I'm thinking it really WAS a matter of 'weapon levels'. Ruth isn't necessarily super strong as a level 1, she's just spent so much time with the bat that she's magically 'attuned' to it, and as such is both REALLY REALLY good with that bat and it probably has some latent magic in it from Ruth, to the point where the bat is basically a minor extention of Ruth.

In short, Ruth is now a Named Elite Mook by virtue of sheer skill and experience. No arbitrary rune power boosts necessary! Like how some mobs in MMOs and such have special names, Ruth isn't just 'Slime' anymore to heroes, she gets 'Ruth' when someone locks on and checks her name.
>>
>>469222
When you activate it, lights built into the walls change color throughout the dungeon. Metal grilles then slide down over all the doors leading off from the hub area, except for the shop and spa.

Ms. Bloops then goes to the next room and presses a hidden switch. This switch causes a bridge to rise up out of the Comfy moat, while most of the platform on the other side (including the part with the mimic) sinks down into it.

Getting to the switch requires squeezing through a tiny gap - it's possible for adventurers to reach it and bypass the moat that way, but only if they come prepared (e.g. they bring a pet, or use the item that turns people into slime).

>>469268
She could heal Royal Slimeknight at the cost of making her hair go flat. Either by puking on him, or by ripping her drills off and attaching them to him in place of missing body parts.
>>
>>469292

Eh. She used the power of comedic timing and fan love. I tend to not look too hard when that's the case, lest the magic run out. However, good to know we have such a capable security officer.
>>
idea for a trap or addition to the spa

Comfy slime based moat and water slide
>>
>>469435
A slime lazy river? I am sold. Add that to the mud bath, seaweed wrap and sauna ideas.

Though that should be after several other expansions. Maybe one spa service every two-e dungeon crawls.
>>
>>469293
I would think that Button would be a decoy. The real button to activate the change would be in the office where Mary would hit it. What Ms Bloop does is just for show. So even if some clever adventure does hit it. it would do nothing.
>>
>>469435

Well, I mean, we already have a moat for the dungeon made out of comfy slimes, but a comfy pool for the sauna wouldn't be bad.

>>469480

I'd have to go back to the previous threads to see what I originally suggested for the fancy mud slime and/or other spa options, but gradually adding things is sure fire. As for how to make a seaweed wrap option:

> Seaweed Slime: Water + Wood
> Seaweed Slime (Fancy): Water + Wood + Fancy/Comfy + Cloth
>>
I love where this is going. I feel we should give more Showmanship. It's good to give them a breather and drop some kind of mono log. Basically gloat over them as dungeon keeper and allow ms bloop to drop the heals. Egging them to fight better if they wish to take us down. Then if they win this drop like 700gp, some loot and food.
>>
One of these days, we should really get a heart rune.

Y'know.

Because.
>>
>>469406

Can we promote her with another essence? I feel just a little more brainpower would be a significant improvement for her current role
>>
>>469520
We're allowed to reward adventurers for being clever. The moat is a pretty minor obstacle anyway.
>>
>>469538
Same. I like Slimecrown Citadel being a place where showmanship and sportsmanship gets you further than just wanting to murderhobo everything in sight. Fight hard, fight fair, and we'll reward you.

Act like a punk and you get punked.
>>
WAIT I JUST REMEMBERED.

WE STILL NEED TO GET IN CONTACT WITH THAT GOLEM GIRL THAT ACTUALLY GOT A SWING IN ON JEFFERY!
>>
>>469673
I dunno, I actually feel like adding a couple of straightforward rooms with some mook slimes.

I also mentioned above that they should each have a chest with loot, with half of them being mimics.
>>
Hey, remember the idea to spread music slimes throughout the dungeon for ambiance music? I just realized they could also scale difficulty on a whim for experienced adventurers thanks to their buffing ability.
>>
>>469749
I'd like those too, the majority of our slimes don't even appear in the dungeon itself. The Curi boss fight should help with that, but I'm kind of interested in what they can pull off on their own.

Maybe make said room into a playground for the slimes (as despite approving building one I don't think we actually built the room proper) and just have the challenge be to get across the room. If the slimes notice you then you're forced into some manner of game, and if you fight any of them you need to fight all of them at once.
>>
>>469774
We can already scale difficulty unless I misread something, and we can play music over the PA system.

Can... Can we upgrade the PA system with music runes? It'd be pretty baller to play boss battle music during boss battles.
>>
we should apply the human rune we got from Larro to the crown.
>>
>>469809
>not applying it to a slime to get a human slime that gets you more human runes
>>
>>469781
>>466920

I put that in my hypothetical dungeon layout. Essentially, the room on the far right is a huge play area with slimes with the main floor being a relief that can be filled with water and smaller, but still large play pools up in the rafters.

Basically, slimes in this area can modify it to suit whatever game they want, like:
> Slime and Seek: A number of slimes begin quickly shuffling back and forth between vases, ducking inside, shuffling them about. In the end, the adventurers must pick the right one.
> Slime Skating: The slimes freeze the floor of the Slimenasium and the adventurers are challenged to skate along with the instructor.
> Slime n' Says: Just like Simon says, where a certain type of bloop replaces the classic phrase.
> Slime Wrestling: Harder than it sounds.
> Slime Slugger: Like a batting cage in baseball where a clone of Ruth throws slime balls at you that you have to hit. You can also request a pitcher's position or a full game.

The list goes on and on, of course, but the main point is to have fun with the slimes and play minigames for possible prizes.
>>
>>469841
>Slime Wrestling Hard Mode: your opponent is a comfy slime.
>>
>>469841
So long as we balance it out with some combat, I think we'll be set. As a theoretical idea, I think we should always look to try and get two new rooms each time. A combat and a puzzle. To keep a balance going.

For now though, I think two or three more fight rooms, while upgrading our existing ones, is what we should be looking to do. As well as expansions in our spa, shop, and loot drops and monster ipgrades/variety.
>>
>>469868

How about a room with rotating groups of stone platforms and water jets blasting at the adventurers and another room added to the moat where the platforms spin violently if landed on in the wrong order?
>>
>>469883
Thats a solid option. I think there was a suggestion about a spinning platform that if you fell off you'd be fighting a monster.

Maybe save it for future, its kind of similar to the garbage chute idea. Only this would lead to a much easier fight, instead of a hard one in the middle of garbage and sludge.
>>
>>469744
We need to give her a job offer.
If nothing else, then as a courier who can handle contacting people for us.
>>
>>469883
>>469918
How about circular platform with a hole in the center? It's sitting on a lake of slime, and the room's owner forms up in the center to fight.
Phase 2 is emptying the lake to form a giant body.
>>
>>470042
Seems like a neat midboss fight, honestly with that second level.

Kinda feel like it could be kept simple though as a basic combat room with a neat quirk.
>>
Our dungeon is getting way too big for Larro to finish a single run in one session.
>>
>>470150
We need to make a few mini-dungeons. The main one will be for special events.
>>
>>470124
>>470042
>>469918

Hmm... So, there may be a way to create an effective room with that theme:

> Room consists of a large lake occupied with rotating pillars
> In the center of the room, there is a slime occupying the main platform
> It is constantly being fed by water geysers shooting at it from fountains
> By deactivating each fountain, you cut off its supply and drain the lake
> However, when defeated, all platforms sink and a large, powerful slime emerges from the floor.
>>
>>470168
I'd rather have it all be one dungeon with most of it being optional. Wizard can grind and collect gear/tokens, Sorcerer can look for the shortest route to the end for his speedrun guides, Golem can relax with all the qt3.14 slimes and Warrior can get lost and wander into way too many challenges so we can take all her money from healing.
>>
>>470271
I like that. You could just make a 1 rune slime monster on the platform, maybe 2 and have a 3 lurking in the waters. Something that will prove just challenging enough but not Queen Lily or Curi tier.
>>
>>470271
Can the lake be made of acid? Also the fountains, and the slime?
>>
>>470570

Theoretically? But we don't have an acid slime presently. However, by chemistry, it should work like this:

Acid Slime: Water + Metal or Water + Metal + Air

Acid is water plus a metal oxidizer, and like the ice elemental versus a big water slime, I imagine that you could create an acid slime or living metal slime out of the same combination. However, given the choice, I want a liquid metal slime first.
>>
>Predator mode: the dungeon is darkened and empty except for Ruth.
>The adventurer has to go explore and unlock the path to the treasure while being hunted.
>>
>>470570
In theory yes. But what you're describing is a bit too beefy for my tastes. Maybe as a RAID varriant, but I think basic slimes/water is a perfectly acceptable standard mission.
>>
>>470634

Also this. As a raid variant, it could be great. For a regular run just water would be fair and fun.
>>
>>470618
Or we could just buy some bleach, turn that into acid runes. Or even just burn some wood and put it in water to get lye and make it alkali instead of acidic, and rune that. Maybe the rune's just causticity instead of a specific direction on the pH scale. Maybe it isn't, and it bypasses acid resistance. I dunno.

>>470634
Well I think it's perfectly fine on the beefometer. It doesn't have to be Hollywood instakill style acid, just deal some damage. The concentration can be adjusted according to difficulty.

Mostly I just think platforming is lame when the punishment for failure is just having to do it all over again.
>>
>>469129
Phase 1
- Curi will fight casually while summoning lesser slimes. Every so often she will cast Slime Trap and render a section of the arena nigh impassable unless you have a slime's physiology.

To progress to phase 2, you need to kite the Explodeys that she summons next to her and then have them detonate, damaging Curi in the process.

Phase 2
- Curi engages the raid in melee, keeping her abilities from Phase 1. She also gains Slime Geyser, a big AoE attack that leaves a mark on the ground for about 2 to 3 seconds before erupting.

Phase 3
- So You Think You Can Slime 2
- Curi moves back to her throne, summoning a ring of Ruths to surround the party. They have to match her moves while avoiding Slime Geysers and staying within the confines of the Ruth ring.

Phase 4
- Curi dismisses all other slimes and re-enters the fight alongside slime facsimiles of all the party members. After a period of time, Curi will choose a random slime and buff them, greatly increasing their combat capabilities. If the slime is defeated, the corresponding party member gains the buff.

That is way too easy.

>>
>>470691
Start with a Think You Can Slime V2.0 with her on a throne untargetable while slime copies of the party are summoned to fight them.

After they are beaten Phase 2 begins where she becomes targetable and starts summoning all of the slime varients that we have. A slow trickle at first then towards phase 3 have it be a near constant stream.

Phase three we engage when she hits half health she randomly calls back slimes to heal her while spawning them along with spawning sets of oil and explodey slimes to swarm the front lines. If they can time it well enough they can make the slimes detonate without harming themselves but would no longer be within range for melee.

Phase 4 we engage when The curri is defeated and we finally make our appearance and bring Curi back to half health and plant cleric for a timed battle. Adventurers would love the adrenaline rush of trying to beat the clock. The clock is to see how long mary can last in combat.

>>470811
Well, it's been a while since she's kissed a victim, maybe she'll have a charm spell in her back pocket?
>>
>>470703
Alright, some changes

P1 and 2
- Mutagenic Slime
- Curi will target a random raid member, causing them to turn into a slime under her control. Wears off after they get beat up enough.

P3
- Curi will also pelt the raid with Oil slimes to throw off their balance and periodically summon Music slimes that blast the notes at the wrong times to wreck their groove

P4
- Slime Traps permanent and grow with time
- Buffs no longer go to raid member, instead are transferred to Curi on slime defeat
- Raid will have to choose between smart mob management or going all in on Omega Curi
>>
I feel like we're all losing sight of trying to make the fights and puzzles enjoyable, and falling too far into the mindset of "How can we best kill the adventurers?"
Maybe it's just me though.

And keep in ind despite the name this is less a 'raid' and more just a typical group. Dunno about everyone else, but when I think raid, I think 10-20 people at least.
>>
>>470894
Hmm, how about she summons the slimes at the edge of the room and they slowly work their way to her. If they reach her she resorbs them, gaining health and buffing her slightly. Gotta AOE down the minions, keep pressure on Curi and get her down soonish.
>>
>>470910
Normally I would agree with you however here its considered five or more people its considered a raid as per >>466884

Best mindset for an oversized group is how to clear a raid in the fastest method possible. They will try to brute force as necessary so give them more mobs to fight against and less so in the way of puzzles. Puzzles are more for smaller groups anyway.
>>
So, what happens to the slime brothel in raid mode?
>>
>>470965

It continues to not exist.
>>
>>470978
Well, that's a huge problem.
>>
>>470910
I happen to agree. I think anons are getting a little too greedy, and it may result in negative reviews. Or at the very least, lower than recently scored. Its good to have a dungeon be diffcult, but not at the expense of fun.

With that said, I think either one of these
>>470691
>>470752
>>470894
Is somewhere along the line of how Curi should go.

I am still against going all out on the Queen Lily fight, and want to scale it back with at least some telegraphed moves, just so that the party members can still be creative and be rewarded.

End of the day, I think we have to remember that we do want our dungeon to have some victors from time to time.
>>
>>470965
It's venue changes into a small stadium, with attraction such as SlimeGirl Wrestling and Foxy Boxing.
>>
>>470988
So we want Queen lily to telegraph her moves but more or less make them hard hitting? Seems easy enough. Lets just see if Lily will go along with that.
>>
>>471007
I think she'll be okay if we just limit it to her super moves. Slime Geyser, and other spells and whatever sword move she has.
>>
>>470988

Personally here's how I want the Curi Boss fight to go:

Regular Mode -- Every variant of slime is in the boss room and dancing to the music; they mostly serve as obstacles to dodge/fight through, but will fight back if attacked. After you clear them and get close enough to Curi, she summons 2 slimes and has them fuse together into a mini-boss level monster which then needs to be fought off. Finally the fight with Curi proper should be a relatively ordinary battle, possibly using her ability to summon slimes to even the numbers depending on the size/strength of the group fighting her.

Raid Mode -- Basically the same as above, only the slimes in part one will actively run interference with slimes in the back healing/buffing them and don't restrict the slime fusions to just the one. Fight with Curi probably doesn't need any changes since its already designed to change its difficulty based on how the adventurers are doing.

Her main thing is being able to summon any of the other slimes, so we may as well let them show off a bit before she takes the stage herself. Though I'm probably biased since I feel we're under-utilizing all the slimes we have.
>>
>>471075
Agreed, her ability to summon any slime should be essential to her fight.
>>
>>470965
Sucubuss slime.
>>
>>471109
Oh, oh! Disguised explosion slimes.
>>
So, how about everyone gets a royal slime jelly sample if they manage to live through theboss?
>>
>>471147
What does it do?
>>
>>470965
Wouldnt we be crossing the demon mob monopoly on brothels if we open one?
>>
>>471149
I thought it have a temporary slime-body buff?
Good for blunt damage (ruth) and exploration.

And lewds.
>>
>>471155
Nah, they only have 50% control on casinos, wont dare to expand until the warp is bankrupt
>>
>>471147
Nah, that isn't a special enough reward I think.

>>471149
Turns the consumer into a slime version of themselves temporarily. They retain their basic stats but gain some bonuses and resistances that a slime would normally get. I.E resistance to fire, blunt damage, maybe a bonus to agility or constitution.

How about this?

> Regular Boss Fight
> Phase 1: Curi arrives in the room surrounded by X number of magical slimes who erect a barrier around her. Boss fight music begins.
> Phase 2: Vents of water begin flowing into the room, which Curi uses to create swinging water whips moving at extremely high speeds. However, there are slimes dancing to the rhythm of the whips and the music, and if you follow their moves, you won't get hit.
> Phase 3: The magic slimes launch an attack. However, doing so lowers the barrier that protects them as well as Curi, giving the adventurers a chance to counter-attack.
> Phase 4: When the magic slimes are taking out, Curi's throne turns into a sphere of ice firing spikes in waves.
> Phase 5: A glowing pool of light along the shell shows when slime geyser is about to go off.
> Phase 6: Slime geyser blasts out, sweeping the room, but in its wake, Curi is left vulnerable.

> Raid Mode:
> More slime geyser beams and homing slime swarms are created
> Whenever Curi is made vulnerable, lesser slimes are summoned to her aid

> Nightmare mode
> Curi fuses with her children to take on one final form with some mix of their abilities (Explosive Punching, Magic, Healing, and Mental power). If you can beat a nonstop barrage of her magic, Jeffrey might not be so bad.

Lily's going to drop one of her exclusive items after this, as well as a couple of other, lower tier slime items.
>>
>>471147
If that's in addition to their prizes up here >>466947 >>466959, then I'd be OK with it.

If that's the only thing you got, though, then no dice, pal.
>>
>>471165
But I really want to see slimified psion!
>>
>>471223
Limit boss fights to at most 4 phases, but generally 2-3 imo. having 6 whole phases is just excessive.
>>
>>471254

Keep in mind, some of those phases aren't really phases. It's more like 4, with Phase 1 being the intro and 5 telegraphing 6.
>>
>>471240
Well, given that her status seems to be flattened pancake right now and anons aren't keen on toning it down. You'd be waiting either way.

>>471223
In principle, this works. But its too many stages. Then again some of your stages aren't even really stages or could be combined. Phase 1-3 comes to mind as does 5 and 6. So you are on the right track I think.
>>
>>471236
Well, yeah.
Still, slimetime for erryone.
>>
For future runs of the dungeon. We still have that thing about gething 2~4 keys to procced to the boss and miniboss?
>>
>>471223
Assuming the boss room doesn't do more than allow a boss to utilize its full strength; I don't think most of this stuff is even possible. Like, Curi's only listed abilities are to summon slimes and trap adventurers with them on top of being fairly tough in her own right.

Though I guess when it comes down to it I prefer things to be pretty simple. It's why mine is basically just a progression of weak slime(s), tougher slime(s), and finally Curi one after the other in terms of how I'd have the fight go.
>>
>>471344

I just want to keep to her dancing theme roots and incorporate other parts of the dungeon. I think that water whips for a pure water elemental should be fine, as should ice. The rest is just summoning slimes.
>>
>>471390
To be fair if we can't do ice. Curi can probably solidify slime enough to use it as a blunt weaoon/icicle type of weapon.
>>
>>471390
>I just want to keep to her dancing theme roots and incorporate other parts of the dungeon.
But not all the adventurers like that. Warrior, muscle wizard, and Sorcerer all displayed a distinct lack of interest in that puzzle, and probably wouldn't appreciate it in the boss fight any better. Probably even less.
>>
>>471485

You can still dodge using traditional warrior like methods. It's more an easter egg than an obligation, anon.
>>
>>471485
So long as the dancing is seen as a guideline of how to dodge like>>471509
suggests, I don't see why we couldn't roll with that as an asthetic design.
>>
Where's Larro. Was I coaxed into a snafu?
>>
>>471620
Maybe his city is on fire again.
>>
>>471620
>>471675
Larro is dead. He confirmed it himself!
