"The boldest measures are the safest."

The text printed on a propaganda poster with a giant portrait of the City's Doge sums up perfectly the past three weeks. Here, in the Noble District there are no corpses floating on water and no camps for people who had the misfortune to sneeze close to a Militia patrol. Two Iceburst Stone powered boats are even racing on the clean azure coloured canal. This place is miles away from the Workers District where Elven Commandos, o foreign occupation force enforcing order, started to cage criminal with infected. And so, several bandits are roaming free, purging lesser Nobles who don't have a mansion with bodyguards.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxkezvGwI20

You just shot the leader with a mawhawk, trying to free the copyist of a religious book you need to free someone from a spell. Two other bandits wearing red scarf by his side are rushing on his crossbow while the two boats mentioned are trying to joust you with pikes. With the help of 'Sunshine' a mermaid using her voice to hypnotize her enemies, you should be able to subdue. For a change you are going to save someone and not just murder innocent blindly.

After causing your mate's wife miscarriage due to the improper use of a healing potion and killing a father ransacking a shop to get masks for his little girl, you need that. A reason to call yourself a hero. You, Alfonso Barbatti, the former sailor, made famous because of a play inspired on his Northern Expedition are the masked avenger of this City. Not the one it needs, but the one it deserves.

The Plague
It's a multiple stages disease where a patient can relapse and progress to the next stage even if he was treated. There is an appropriate level of treatment for each stage and different type of contamination that you learned. You are researching a cure with the help of an Alchemist and investigating occult magic to fight the infection too. The first solution require smuggling merchandise out of the Harbor, the second freeing someone from the Inquisition.
https://pastebin.com/Zu47npJ6

Organ Harvester
Someone has assaulted Demihumans, cut their ears, tail, removed non-vital organs, which resulted in some deaths. The rumours spread that elixir were made out of these harvest since Demihumans are immunized. This is very damaging to Mr. Goodhealth an Apothecary affiliated with the mermaid whose shop has been attacked. You traced back the source to a certain Noble.

Rescuing Susanna
After saving the two children of Dottore Paul, the head director of the Academy who warned about the Plague but was murdered by the Inquisition, she was captured herself. Thankfully you send the children to a safe place but you have to find a way to break the Divine Magic spell restraining her in the Church.

Cultist Attack
Someone claiming to be from the Cult of Charon suicide bombed himself at ration distribution. The Witch told you she had nothing to do with it and wish to apprehend the culprits to save her young apprentices from the backlash.

bullet vs bolt

Despite the speed boat closing on you with their halberd rised, you chose to entrust your fate to the mermaid and fire at the punk trying to shot you down with a crossbow. Your second pistol discharge with another cloud of smoke and the bullet hits right into the punk's shoulder. He falls with the crossbow still unloaded.

The familiar humming of the mermaid fills the air and causes the steam gondolas' drivers to go mad, even more than before. They hurl at each other, drooling with distorted faces and change their course to joust at each other. They collide under the bridge with an explosion of steam.

There are no visibility but you hear now more than one voice near the house, also the copyist tied to a tree is begging for his life.

Under the stress of the assault and because you tried to reload two pistols at the same time in a stylized way, you teared off the paper too early and spread the gunpowder all over. The round lead bullet rolls on the pavement an passes through the fog which is now revealing the scene beyond the bridge.

"Kill that bastardo!"

Two women are trying to aim with the crossbow after successfully reloading it and the last standing punk has taken the copyist hostage with a knife under his throat, licking the cheek of the noble in anticipation of his kill.

As the fogs completely dissipates, the two women can now perfectly aim at you with the crossbow. Since you didn't appear too menacing they didn't blindly fire the bolt at you. Their friend is moaning in pain with a bleeding shoulder at their feet and the other punk still has the copyist in hostage. Sunshine, the mermaid is hiding just under them thanks to the dock. way of the pacifist

"Your friend is bleeding off, and I got two loaded guns" you show your two weapons menacingly "now I don't care what business you had with that copyist but I need him. Back off now and everyone gets to see another day, or else..."

THe two women look at each other, loosening their grip on the crossbow, not ready to die like the leader of this pack. But as you mentioned the copyist, the one with a knife under his throat got quite agitated.

"Militia should be just around the corner too." you end

And with that they burst out laughing.

"Ah ah ah. As if!" the last standing thug shouts "Do you think we can operate in the Noble District without their blessing?"
"What do you mean their blessing?"
"This fool conspired against the Doge, we were set free from the Citadel with a list of conspirators. He doesn't know it, but he is already dead."

You didn't anticipate that. At least you stopped the fighting and the women are no longer aiming at you with the crossbow. A stream of blood is starting to appear near the blade on the copyist neck. For them, killing this man is a given if they don't want to go back to jail. Looting the villa was just an extra. You can just let them do their business and scavenge for the book or attempt to save him.

manipulator

Since you perfectly conveyed your feeling and understood the situation with your smooth talking, you decided to get new allies and convince the women to kill the last standing thug.

"Kill him you" you just shout

It's enough for one of them to slightly rise the crossbow at the thug, getting him scared and throwing the hostage on them. The tip of the bolt tears open a bit of skin on his belly.

"You dirty baldracca" he insults her "I will cut your face and fed it to the fishes."

Waiting for the right opportunity, you let him approach you to dodge at the last moment. The pace of his steps, the momentum of his mace, you can see everything, it's clear as day that he is going to swirl the mace horizontally with a step forward. A leap backward once he started the movement and getting to his dead angle once the mace is finishing its course. He is at your mercy.

Your dagger reaches deep between his ribs, coating your gloves in blood. The stinging pain makes him lose the mace and falls only one second later, motionless. This time, you stopped a murderer and a criminal released to do the dirty work of the Militia. It was a fair fight and you won.

"Please don't kill us" the women beg "We just want to go back to the Redlight District."

They rise their hands, letting the crossbow on the ground. The copyist is bleeding but the wound is superficial. He is still in shock. The other thug, however, is going to die soon from his shoulder injury.

"T-Thank you stranger. Y-Yo-You are not going to let these women get away, right? T-They burned my precious collection!"

The mermaid sits over the dock, rising a metal pole from the clean azure water of the Noble District canal. It's the halberd from the speed boat.

"You used women as a distraction" she complains "I hope you don't intend to kill them now."

"I came here for one precise reason. Do you have the copy of 'Hammer of the Witches'?"
"Oh really? Is La Landa finally going to pay? I keep my sensible work in a safe. He paid a small fortune just to have a copy of a few pages."

You retrieved the book, which could provide you with a lead on how to break the Tartarus chains. After flipping though the pages, you realize there are three main chapters. It would take half an hour to read each. In order to free Susanna, you will have ti read several books until you find a relevant one. Once again, you find yourself in the tourist agency. Here, you take the last gondola of their commerce, finding the dangling corpse of the business owner who hanged himself. You promised to bring him back the one you 'borrowed' from him, didn't keep your promise and stole two more gondolas from him. Hiding your shame and discomfort to Sunshine, you unload everything you looted near the copyist house.

The boat fits nicely in one of the outfall leading to the tunnels of Don Giovanni's territory. You can leave it here with your stuff just like in the Arsenal. You have been desperate to find the same convenient hideout in your own district to store the gondolas you stole but your don't want to be associated with Lady Barielle. And maybe because of that peckish attitude, you drove someone to suicide.

"It's not me! Not me." he mumbles with the pain

"Then who?" you try, still holding the pistol
"Not me, not me, not me!"

He keeps repeating, as if begging for his life until his wife enters the room and let out a scream. The courageous housewife tries to snatch the pistol from you but she is quickly overpowered. La Landa extends his shaking hand to her.

"The... Children..." he tells her

On these words she rushes back down the stairs, probably getting their children in safety, far from the home invader that you are.

"Then who?" you continue

A tears forms on the corner of his closed eyes. After breaking his arm, probably causing an infection because of the unnatural nature of the wound making it impossible to detect; stealing his gondola, forbidding him to go to the Hospital; getting his money, prevented him to resort to a doctor and finally invading his house, you get to the point.

"Someone stole my address book. I'm just a man with a kink for Demihumans."
"Who stole it?"
"As if I knew. Even my wife does not know. Everybody thinks I am disgusted by theù Demihumans."

Now you remember him, it's the noble who encountered on your way to Don Giovanni's party.
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/4136452/#p4167379
How hypocritical. He and his wife advocate for Demihumans rights, wears disguise to appropriate their culture but call people getting to close to them as "furries" while the man is actually a degenerate himself.

"One day someone broke into my safe. It was not a professional, he spends the whole night silently drilling several holes until the mechanism broke. And he didn't steal any gold from my safe, just the adress book."
Wow, you have to be pretty strong for that."
"Only our housemaid knew about my kink. I will tell you her address, please leave, I'm already ruined there is nothing to steal from me."

You leave, passing through a deserted living room, the wife did not even closed the door or took her coat. She just rushed to her children. It's not your problem anymore, whether La Landa dies from the infection or his wife gets assaulter in the street. Sunshine welcomes you back, she knows how important it is to catch the Organ Harvester for her mistress and won't judge your methods.

As soon as you knock at Don Giovanni's mansion, the powerful arm of Sebastien grabs you by the collar and lift you above the ground. He looks very angry. You broke into the neighbour house again, despite his warnings.

You didn't find them in their room and looked for them in the huge deserted mansion alone. At first worried because Don Giovanni mentioned Militia searching house, you breathe in relief seeing the two lovers baking cake in the kitchen. Bernardo waves at you with his flour coated hand and Raphaella, the racoon girl in maid outfit blushes, shamed to be seen like that. A strange behaviour for someone who can murder another cold-blooded. When she turns back you notice a white mark on her dress in the shape of a hand.

Despite the girl being a Demihuman and thus unable to enter the Abbey, she might be of some help in the district of said Abbey. You wanted someone to carry the artefact around to distract the knight of the Inquisition. >>4243589 >>4243750

Do you want Raphaella to come with you now that Bernardo is fully healed?
>yes, one more mouth to feed is nothing
>no, if she can't access the Abbey it's useless

"What did you..." he slaps his face "Sorry, but didn't someone told you that it was better to amputate her arm?"
"M-Maybe..." you excuse yourself
"If you want to regrow a limb or restore bone damage, you need at least a large healing potion. Half will partially regrow the limb into a premature state. All the nutrients she had were drained to finalize the process so of course she had a miscarriage."
"I didn't know..."
"It's all right. Since healing potion started to appear and replaced healing miracle, people speculated wildly on their properties but even a bathtub of healing potion cannot restore muscle memories."
"What does that mean?"
"If someone stays more than a week without a limb he won't be able to use the newly regrew one. That's why we still have blind persons among the nobles."

This new information terrifies you regarding the fate of Arthur. He spends almost a week with two fingers on one hand. Also, Valentina can get her arm back but will never regain her adult dexterity. You did this. The remorse weight down on you so you pass to your next question.

"What do you think about the Gallileof's plan?"
"Anything to stop the disease is welcome but it will probably consume your time and resources. I don't know if their plans will succeed, Igor and Grichka are two of bodies but one of mind. With Igor gone, it's..."
"I should rescue Grichka while I still can."
"He is an astronomer and researched the Cult of Charon, I think he looked everywhere for that book you hold in your hand. Maybe it will give you an insight on what they wanted to do."

At 4PM, after asking your questions and waiting for Raphaella to change, you get to the Blacksmith to retrieve the heretical machine of the Gallileof. Using the gondola to carry all your loot and conceal the spiked mace with Raphaella on board and Sunshine swimming at your side, you even used some part of the drowned tunnels to avoid the Militia.

Children are drooling in front of the Blacksmith shop at the beautiful armors. You don't blame them, a helmet would make a fine addition to your outfit to replace the one you lost. Fast clanking noises are approaching the door and the Dwarf burst out of his shop, fully armored and the coral harpoon in his hand.

"GET OUT YOU LITTLE RATS!"

Everyone but you escape the wrath of the young Dwarf, he gestures you to come in. Reluctantly, you steps inside. There are even more weapons than the one you brought but still unavailable to purchase since he has no licence.

"Don't look. These are mine. MINE. You sold me the harpoon, now its mine."

You first thought it was a simple compulsive hoarding, but this collection of even the tiniest blades found in the garbage looks like the typical Dwarf King Syndrom. Usually, they just gather as much gold as they can, then defend it tooth and nails but this is out of proportion and directed at weapons.

During your journey there you can ask Sunshine or Raphaella something (pick one because gondola)
>[Sunshine] something specific about her powers (buff, debuff?)

You want to ask several things to the Dwarf, but the more pressing matters should come first before wearing out his patience. Nobody wants to anger a Dwarf.

"Why do you need so much weapons?" you ask
"It's happening, I tell ye." he proudly thrusts the coral harpoon "I received the manifesto."
"And what does it tell?"
"I... I don't know... But it must be instruction to prepare for the happening! We are going to slaughter the Ingonhide and reclaim vengeance for the lives lost at the Dwarven Fortress! And their systematic destruction of our religion! Torresack will lead us."
"How can you be so sure if you don't know what the manifesto says?"
"It's crypted. I need the Codex of the Militia in their main Dovecote, but it must be a call to arm!"
"You can still sell me armor, right?"
"Aye. Not the plates since I'm wearing them, but everything else. Unless you bring me more special weapons. I need them!"

Unsure about what to do with this new requests, you switch to the reason you came here for and ask for more details about the Gallileof machine.

"I think you have something belonging to the Gallileof."
"Aye. A fine mechanical orrery but it's..."
"It's what?"
"The sun is not the center of the world, I don't want to Inquisition or zealots to find it here."
"Why would they want an inaccurate machine?"
"You know the source of power of Divine Magic come from the believers' faith. Since we abandoned Vulcan for money we became slave of the bankers. I hope the same will not happen to you if you spread that the sun is not the center of the universe."
"I will take it then and with an helmet too."

Supporting your write-in on the gear, but we can't give Arthur a medium healing potion. Bernardo mentioned you need a large healing potion for lost limbs/appendages, even if fingers seem less of a big deal than a hand/arm, I don't think it's worth risking another situation like the arm. You drink the ignored potion after giving the artefact and dolls, but and do not feel really different. People are just less likely to stare you with your weird helmet and this huge bagpack carrying the Mystical Stone Parachute. Then, some of them bump into you. It happens more than once, so it can't be a coincidence. Each looks completely surprised when they realize they walked into you, as if they swore there was nobody there.

Finally, after ascending the steps toward the Church, avoiding the two checkpoints you are able to enter the Sacristy. The mass starts with the Vestals chanting and the staff of the Grand Inquisitor can already be heard. You are left alone, here... with Sister Susanna.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GodPP6LimY

Chained to a massive oak throne by a glowing rope, a woman is cloaked in the grey robe of the Firekeeper with bandages on her eyes and blood streaming from her ears. She extends gently her hand in your direction, as if probing through the darkness. She didn't react immediately when you opened the door.

Even when you touch her, she does not react despite a simple contact usually breaking the effect of the ignored potion. Her head has a slight delay when following your motion. She doesn't hear you, doesn't see you, doesn't feel you.

"Is anyone here?" she asks "Please... Please kill me."

How could this be? You could not be late. The Firekeeper ceremony was to be held tomorrow.

The mass start and you can enter the Sacristy without anyone paying attention to you. This is how it feels to be ignored. Persephone was the daughter of Ceres and granddaughter of Sol. As Persephone grew, so did her beauty. When Charon, the god of the Underworld, saw her, he immediately fell in love with her and decided to abduct her. One sunny day the young Persephone was gathering flowers in a field, accompanied by her close friends, the Ocean Nymphs. The carefree Persephone moved away from her companions in search of the most beautiful flower. When she reached out to pluck a wondrous narcissus, Earth yawned open and Charon appeared in his black gondola and snatched her away to the Underworld while she was in tears. Ceres was looking in vain for his daughter day and night. The land and crops of the earth began to wither. After a while, Sol, looking at everything from the sky, felt disappointed about the harvest and found out where Persephone was. Ceres demanded that Persephone be returned, or else she would not let the earth blossom again. Sol sent the Messenger and neutral God, Mercury, to Charon with the command to release Persephone. Before returning her to Mercury, Charon forced Persephone to practice the Dark Arts. Charon knew that if someone made a contract with him, they became a Witch and their Soul belonged to the Underworld after their death. Persephone was shortly after reunited with her father. However, Ceres could sense the smell of Charon on her. So, infuriated with his granddaughter treason, he set her to the stake for seven days and seven nights, using the Tartarus chains he subdued the Titans with and his grandparents freed the Titans from. She burned and expiated her fault until the fire no longer hurt, prove of her innocence. Blind, deaf and unable to feel or smell, she could only find comfort in the gentle fire of Sol. Persephone became Bona Dea, the good goddess and the first Firekeeper, giving back healing miracles but unable to heal her own injuries.

There, you learned that the Tartarus Chains were used by Sol to defeat the Titans and that his grandparents freed the Titans from them. You either want to reverse chant this spell or find the spell to free someone from them.

The liquid in the phial spins the gears in your head, so much information is resurfacing from your memory. You've learned that the Tartarus Chain can be used to enslave someone like the Lizardman of Franz so it's acting on someone will as well as physically subduing him/her. This spell is a Divine Magic used by Sol probably in Clash of the Titans and his grandparents, so they must be Saturn and Terra from the Book of Genesis in the only chapter mentioning gods you didn't already read, Creation. If you want to free someone from them, you can either reverse chant Sol's spell or directly chant Saturn's and Terra's chant.

The mass is halfway through as you hear the Grand Inquisitor starting his preach, only half an hour left. Which chapter do you want to read?

Since the Old Gods were no more, Sol feared for evil the Titans might spread on Earth. And so he decided to slaughter the immortal by battling them until they were no more than dust. To accomplish these great feat, he first captured them in the Tartarus from where his grandfather and grandmother freed them. Sol bound the light into an unbreakable rope and vowed to keep all evil chained.

Evil is a name of a foeman, as I live.
Never a foot too far, even.

The chain spread across the land, over the seas, in the sky, extending in the four corners of the world. It reached every Titans he wished to capture and held bound them to the Tartarus, creating mountains in their trail. There he will battle them for twelve months without rest until the immortal creatures turn to dust.

He defeated Typhon, father of the Harpies by bringing a rain of fire. He split Chimera into its different animal parts to restore order. He fought Prometheus with his own fire in an epic duel. Cerberus was tamed and offered to his brother Charon. He wrestled with the Minotaur, continuously using healing magic on him. Medusa's head was used to turn Hydra into stones. He ate all of Behemonth and the Leviathan to regain strength. And finally, he mounted Pegasus to slay the Dragon.

The mass is coming to and end, you have to act quickly, there is also no guarantee of what will happens once they realize Susanna is gone. Maybe you won't be able to help Grichka Gallileof. You came prepared to fight your way out though and the Solar Knight is still not coming. Since you have the Mystical Stone Parachute with you, there is also the possibility to jump from the spear of the Cathedral but since you are so heavy, you will only be able to carry Susanna with it down to the gondola or close to the Abbey.

You chant the two sentences in the opposite order and... nothing happens! It must be something else. The banging of the Grand Inquisitor's staff so getting closer now, reverberating tremors in the stones under your feet. Susanna feels this and gets scared, her breath shortens in anticipations of what is about to come. You can't possibly let her out like this, not after coming this far, but you didn't want to face the Solar Knight and the Great Inquisitor is even more powerful!

Then, maybe it's thanks to the investigation potion or a sudden bolt of inspiration, but you realize it's a palindrome. The letters can be inverted without changing anything. So, maybe if you just chant it normally it will work...

"Evil is a name of a foeman, as I live.
Never a foot too far, even."

The rope glows even brighter, the flash is so intense that even the blind Susanna can somehow feel it and try to cover her face. The chains broke. Tension momentarily leave your body as the realization of what you achieved came to you. A simple butcher and former sailor, you, outsmarted the Church of Sol. Is this how the heroes in the legend felt after defeating monsters?

There is no time to lose, though and Susanna is not protected by an ignored potion!

As the organ roar for the end of the mass, you quickly pull the injured vestal up to steal her away from the Inquisition. She trips a little and falls on you with a faint moan. Her frail body feels so light, you didn't even flinch. Did they even feed her? These barbarians, if they know how to heal someone then of course, injury and famine does not mean anything to them. You tighten your grip around her fingers and she allows herself to gently caress your torso.

"Thank you, kind stranger. I am now in your care."

She can't hear, see or feel anything, only heat detection guides her in the darkness and you are her light. You both climb in the spiral staircase, hearing the door exploding behind you with flame licking your boots. If you were quicker you could have grabbed some books but all things considered, you saved Susanna one day before the seven days mentioned in the Trial by Fire.

On the roof, the tiles breaks under your steps. Down there, you can spot Raphaella near the gondola and Melie rushing up the stairs to the Church. She probably thinks she can still reach you in time.

You wave at Melie since everybody can still sea you after accomplishing something so heroic, one finger raised in the air swirling in a "turn back" loop get as a response an "ok" sign. Raphaella push the oar into the Grand Canal and the gondola get lost in the Factory District. Charon, the god of the Underworld abducted Persephone for the second time, how romantic but also terribly heretical.

Susanna dips her finger in the water she longed for when burning at the stake. There are many questions in your mind, what else can she do with that flame? Can she give healing miracles? Why can't she heal herself? Will a large healing potion do? Just a medium? Doubts are assaulting your mind, driving you crazy.

Two simple words appears through the fog of your worries as Parotti's house is revealed behind a corner of a street : Hugo and Amicia. If you can at least tell her the children are fine... You are not an intellectual, you can read and do basic maths for your small shop but that's all.

How do you even make the first syllable of "Hugo"? It's not the same as in "you"... "go" as in "to go" will be perfect for the second though. What about Amicia? You are pretty confident you can separate into "A" "mi" and "cia" but can only come up with "miss A".

Someone who recognized a palindrome should be able to do write two names, right? You give it a shot anyway and write with a trail of water on her hand "A MISS A" and "U GO" She smiles, embarrassed to not understand why her arm is so gently and warmly held like this then gasp in surprise when she understands.

"Oh!... Praise Sol, Amicia... Hugo... They sent you? Are they alright. Please let me feel your warmth once again if they are, stranger."

You do so. Tears fall down on her cheeks, and she hugs you, so tightly it's indecent, but how else can she feels someone?

"Thank you stranger. Thank you. I shall devote myself to your cause then. As a vestal I could grant two healing miracles per day and if I... if I stay like that three and also this." she lights a fire in her palm.

That was unexpected... Does she really want to stay like that to help you?

You toss on apple to Melie and Arthur. The boy misses the catch with his two fingered hand and has to crawl under the piano to find it back. Afraid of the mistake you made, are about to apologize when Melie interrupts you by taunting her twin brother.

"What's going on Arthur?" she giggles "You lost your hand?"
"Melie that..." he looks pained "That's the best burn you can do?"
"S-Shut up, you are the brain of the team."
"And that's why I need arms to support me." he tosses his apple at her "clean it for me, sis."

Unlike Amicia and Hugo these two are very supportive of each other. Guess that growing without a silver spoon in your mouth teach you some about solidarity and resilience. You grab Arthur by his wrist, and bring him to Susanna, he seems to understand what will happen.

Susanna hold his hand, interweaving their fingers, which makes the boy blushes furiously under the whistling and name-calling of his sister. The Church servant nods and start to cast one of three miracles per day.

"Yes... Yes of course. Poor boy, don't work in factories." she starts to sermon him "Among my orphans many came home like that."
"Uh thank you..." he answers without being heard

Without pain, unclenching as naturally as possible his finds back all his fingers, giving the middle to his sister who clapped and threw him back his apple. This time he caught it without fail.

"You are a man of words, Alfonso. I thought... I thought maybe if we stayed here and did what you want we could at least get protection."
"I'm a man of few words but I keep them."
"I thought..." he starts to hold back his tears "Maybe if I didn't say anything about my fingers, Melie wouldn't have to..."
"Bene... No needs for words, boy." you pat his back, pushing him to his sister

You approach Valentina and Luigi, the atmosphere is tense but you notice that Valentina had all her attention on Susanna. She is a very pious woman and despite the presence of Raphaella around the same hearth, she wanted to engage conversation with her. Maybe to confess, maybe to find some support. After all, she might as well believe this is a punishment inflicted on her for welcoming a Demihuman in her house.

You failed to catch the terrorist in time and she lost her arm in the explosion, then you fed her half a healing potion, causing her limb to partially regrew in a translucent baby-sized unfinished form which driven her and her husband to madness. After all this, you decided against the Hospital and get her back to your house because you thought it was a bad idea to cut her arm. However, because her new arm draining her nutrient, she went into miscarriage and lost her unborn child in a camp because you brought a infected to her house.

She has all the reason in the world to hate you. She is probably the person you hurt the most.

"Valentina, we need to cut your arm and heal it back to its original form."
"Die!" she throws an empty can at your face that you barely avoid

There was a real killing intent in that throw. You never thought women could pack up so much hatred, as a sailor you never shared the house of a one of them for more than a month. All things considered, someone weaker than you, can quickly build up resentment because of their helplessness.

"Are you going to cut my arm?" she screams "You?! As if that was not enough? Don't you want to cut my husband to sleep with the beast over there while you're at it?"
"What?" Luigi exclaims "Valentina, you don't have all your head, please calm down."
"And you! You miserable husband, you let that man wreck our home and our marriage in front of Sol? Say something!"

You recognize the same fire in her eyes as in the Grand Inquisitor. These are the people keeping the fire, the source of all Divine Magic, as the Dwarf told you, the believers, the zealots. Susanna feels vibration in the air and extends her hand.

"Is someone angry." she asks "Please calm down. I recognize the warmth of a hearth, there is no need to quarrel around the fire."
"Look." you explain Valentina "This is a Firekeeper, she will heal you soon after. You can't refuse a miracle healing, right?"
"I... I believe her, b-bu-but not you!"

She stuttered but not that cut embarrassed stutters Sunshine makes, it was impotent rage wearing out her nerves, meanwhile Luigi watched with dead fish eyes, like a hollow husk of his former self.

Everyone gives a hand, except Luigi who can't bear such atrocities. Now you are even going to deprive him of the honour of saving his own wife. Susanna understood quickly what happened and is ready by your side. Melie and Arthur hold her feet, Raphaella and Mario her arms and you... sharpening the hunting knife against the dagger as a real pro butcher gets ready to cut the meat.

-1 poppy elixir

She gulped down the elixir and forced herself to look away from the tourniquet as you quickly cut her muscles and tendons, only showing mild discomfort. Then it came to the bone. You know how to break an articulation or weaker bones at the middle but she has to be amputated between the elbow and shoulder.

What did you use for the tourniquet to stop the bleeding
>tuxedo
>mask

You bend her arm in an unnatural position until the bone creaks and Valentina gets more agitated, biting her lips. She lets out an intense scream during long minutes of trial and errors until you decide to use your foot as leverage on her shoulder. She gives you one heinous and horrified look before falling unconscious. There is nothing more painful than bone injury. Susanna quickly do her miracle and her arm his restored back to normal. For her dexterity, you will have to wait for her to wake up.

Hammer of the Withces:Dark Miracles

Once upon a time, in a kingdom far, far away, the land suffering greatly from Wyverns attacks. Every day, peasant would show up at the king’s court asking for the royal knights to be dispatched. However, the young inexperienced king feared that the centaurs slaves his knights were mounting, would escape in the forest. Then, a leech presented itself at the royal court.
"Speak, dead creature" the king spoke "before I send you back beyond the Styx"
"Fear not, king of the Humans" the lich respectfully bowed "for I am a king of the Underworld and as it is true I show no interest in the living, I might be able to help you, from king to king."
And thus, using a Dark Miracle, the Lich King reclaimed the souls of all the Wyverns in the Kingdom.

A few years after the Wyverns died, the forest became a place for all savages creatures to thrive. An new land to conquer. But with conquest came war and the fateful day of the centaur rebellion approached since they had now a place to live outside the stables. The merchants complained every day at the king’s court for a war against the centaurs. Yet, the king, wise and thoughtful as an adult, did not want to spill blood and spread war and remembered about the Lich King.
"Friend" he asked "Will you help me subjugate the centaurs? For your Dark Miracle is the most human solution."
"Your majesty, if this what you want." the Lich kneeled “Then, this, as king you can command."
And thus, all centaurs of the kingdom disappeared in a single night, their souls now belonging to the Lich King.

The Kingdom prospered, exploiting new land, and the population grew. But as the population grew, so did the need for food. Since the centaurs disappeared, the bird population exploded and the harvest were badly impacted. The old king, full of love and compassion now with white hairs and wrinkles, remembered about his oldest ally.
"Lich King, sovereign beyond the Styx over the dead, will you help the living again?"
"To serve until your death is my purpose." he swore
And thus, all the bird across the land fell from the sky, never again their singing will announce the spring.

Disease spread across the Kingdom. Sages told the King that with the natural predators of so many insects gone, it was to be expected. However, the king grew senile and weak and only had one word to his mouth, referring to the Lich as his own king. Nobody had the courage to tell him that a disease is not something you can kill. On his death bed he talked one last time with him.
"O my king" he spoke "will you grant that poor soul one last wish?"
"Your will is my command." he renewed his oath “The enemies of the Humans will perish."
And thus, every living creatures of the Kingdom, except Humans died. Shortly after, the king woke up beyond the Styx among all the creatures he asked to be gone. As king, he expected to be treated as equal, with the same dignity he received the Lich.
"You are one my subject now." the Lich said.

After reading the chapter that was also available at the Gallileof office, you understand how Charon Divine Magic can be used to fight a disease, at least you think... But how the mechanical orrery related to this? The Dwarf told you it coult weaken the Sol's Divine Magic but can it reinforces Charon's one?

Hammer of the Withces:Cursed Stones

Once Sol slaughtered the Titans after a twelve months battle, without rest and without shedding blood, the remains of the immortal were scattered in the world. Still alive, but tore to pieces, they imbued their surrounding with magic, creating the Mystical Stones. Glowing when wet and levitating when heated, they react to both Charon and Sol, and should be considered heretical. If a Titan part is found inside these, it contains the primordial power from Uranus, before the god were divided. These are the artefact and as a sign of respect to the gods, they should be discarded. The sweat from Sol crystallized into Iceburst Stones, still condensing an immense amount of power, they should be treated with immense respect and not used in Arcane Magic.

The story detail each of the Titans and the scarcity of their artefact corresponding to each god of the Pantheon.

I want to make an important change to the roll mechanism.

-Roll will be best of 3 over a defined time interval unless specified otherwise.
-If there are less than 3 rolls, I may extend the time limit or keep the reduced number of rolls. You will only be warned about time extension.
-1-5 and 96-100 will be considered crits taking priority above everything else
-crits happening after the time limit will be only considered if good crits

Seems good depending on how long the time limit is 20 minutes or so would be good, I think. Will crit successes override crit fails, or will it only be if they're under the limit, e.g 2 would override a 97, but a 3 would not override a 98?

>>4271158
>>what will the non-heliocentrist mechanical orery be used for?
If the orrery is non heliocentric, then Sol is not the supreme celestial being may weaken him? Charon was implied to be a black hole, so could that possibly be the focal point in the Orrery? could it be used to set up some kind of complex, star related ritual for counteracting something major?
>>how can Charon Divine Magic be used to fight a disease?
Seemingly in that passage we read in Dark Mircales, Charon Divine Magic can kill living things, by removing their souls. Could it possibly be used to wipe out infected cells immediately? Could the plague itself be from a curse, and we can counteract it if we use the right spell to dispel it.
>>4271161
>>get out fast (Physical)
I realize we told Mario that we'd bring him with us, but this could be something huge. If the maid is being attacked, the trail will go cold. She'd be fucked. Maybe we could even find the Organ Harvester on the scene. We need to hurry.
>>4271181
>(non optionnal) What do you think about this?
Seems good, Alde. I dig the new system. Roll wait times are a big factor. The quest can get pretty dead at times, so we'd be completely fucked if the first roll was high and no one else was around to give it a shot. 20 minutes for a roll seems fine if it has been under three. Maybe longer roll time threshholds for very pivotal, dangerous fails.

-2 mask
-1 pair of gloves

You chose to go there alone, trying to not make a sound to use effect of the ignored potion to its full extent. Since you removed the gloves and mask to eat and feed Susanna, you had to use new ones, also you just carried what you already had on you including the spiked mace since you are ignored anyway.

The building where the housemaid live has an inner courtyard where two Elves are guarding a form on the pavement covered by a blanket in a pool of blood. A balcony on the last floor is broken, she must have fell from her apartment... and the housemaid lived on the last floor. This time, the Organ Harvester has killed. But how? You were the only one knowing about the existence of La Landa address book beside the Harvester and the housemaid. Who could have told him to kill her before you speak to her?

(Optionnal)Who told the Organ Harvester you were coming?
>someone, write-in

While you probably can't learn much from her apartment since he should have cleared it, a more urgent matter appeared. More Elves are swiping through the apartment, conducting arrests of "suspects" and infected alike. If you want to enter the building either to fight them or investigate the corpse/apartment, you will have to pass the Elven Commandos and since they are so close to each other in the narrow hallway of the building you have no choice but to fight them or climb the facade.

>use the grappling hook to get on the rooftop

Resigned of your helplessness, you turn back just a little ashamed. The screams of the residential building rings in your ears even when you go to sleep. This time it is a pleasant dream. You fly across the sky, carrying Susanna and land in La Landa's house smiling at each other and holding hand. It's a happy couple scene, despite the blood and gore on the ground. You don't hear either the children crying over the dead body of the noble or Valentina tearing off her arm to beat her husband. No, you are above all this, even the scream outside, you are a real hero.

Physical 60 (+10)
Mental 45
Social 50 (-5)

The room is packed with so many people, even for the apartment of the famous Parotti. So you wake up facing Susanna, maybe she is asleep. You allow yourself to stare at the smooth facial features of the vestal, since she can't see you anyway.

"My champion" she whispers

Despite her bandages covering burnt eyes, she smiles at you making you turn around against Raphaella's face. She is gently snorting and her ears twitch at your sudden movement, this oriental beauty is also stunning with her almond eyes and little nose. N-No, you have Lisa, already and you shared a special moment with Sunshine already!

*THUD*

You hear something hitting the window of the apartment, it's today La Stampa edition directly delivered to you.

La Stampa Public Edition Ventesimo : Shortage of Healing potion

As the news of an incoming shortage of healing potion is coming to the City, the Inquisition, the Militia and the Elven Commando are going to further freedom to movement. People are told to self quarantine and ration will be delivered every day depending on the number of persons alive inside. Voluntary community work is still needed and people with essential job can still walk outside.

Last night the Firekeeper was abducted by someone. The witness described him at first as an angel carrying him from the Church to the ground, but they were horrified when she boarded a gondola. This sad detail reminded them about the infamous Bona Dead tale, the first Firekeeper who was abducted by Charon. As sign of repentance, Grichka Gallileof immolated himself.

The last good news of the week is that we find back an 'E' typestamp. As we are also approaching the Heart of Winter, there is an even worse news.
The previous week death toll is 19,000.

The main priority is of course to find a large healing potion for Susanna before noon, a challenge considering the news about healing potion shortage. You might have to run back and forth several places or at worst bring Susanna to the Warzone, disguised to receive a miracle healing. And on top of that, you will have to confront the self-quarantine order.

Your speed potion is still active, so back and forth trip to the Alchemist shop will bring you back here at 8AM on normal pace and to the Warzone street seller at 10AM, respectively 7AM and 8AM if you run. Also, the bridge checkpoint will need a bribe of one gold coin to pass a healing potion unless Susanna comes with you.

What do you decide?
>to the bridge running, alone (Physical)
>to the bridge with Susanna
>to the bridge without Susanna

The reception at the Elven Embassy might be your chance to rescue Da Costa or Corym, so the last chance to secure an additional route to for the cure. First, you need a costume, like the tuxedo but it has no social bonuses. Then, you need a bribe, of course and a gondola. Alternatively, you can visit Don Giovanni since he also wanted to attend or maybe you go with Lisa or Lady Barielle but you won't be able to bring anyone else.

How to get there?
>go with Lady Cremosa, Lady Barielle, Giovanni
>use sugar as bribe, find a gondola, bring someone, write-in (Melie, Arthur, Raphaella, Susanna)

Your costume
>tuxedo
>buy one at the Tailor

Finally, you will have to get another device or collect 50 Mystical Stones to refuel, get on the Clocktower, fall on the Eastern Jonque and ram the ship in the West part of the City. This means you will face exotic animals and the Dead Zone.

How do you equip?
>Currently on you

gotta go fast

A distance usually run in an hour at normal pace covered in less than half an hour. That's a feat worthy of an Olympic champion. And since you were an a good stroll you can continue like that and bypass the checkpoint.

You passed in front of the Elven cage-trees with all the residents of the housemaid building. What? How? They didn't do anything and they are caging them with infected like the minor criminals and 'terrorists' they want to deliver capital punishment upon? They are going to far this time, you can't let this go unanswered, but Susanna needs her large healing potion. As usual, only one commando is guarding them on the rooftop, so you will have to decide what to do with them on your way back.

There are very few people in the street these days, the garbage piling up is sometimes the only proof that a building still has people alive in it. The self-quarantine order is already respected but is it enforced properly? You choose to brave the interdiction and get out running in the morning before sunrise, avoiding patrols by passing through the Industrial District and now you have to face the bridge whichi is completely deserted except for the Militia.

"Oi, down there." the stiltsman calls you "Where are you going?"

"Must be nice to have someone to return to." he envies you "Hey guys, can we let this one pass? He has to get back to someone."

With fire in your eyes, you cross the bridge and the four Militiamen guarding it. You are not sure how they will react once they see you going back. You reach the Alchemist shop, worried about not having enough gold to pay for a large healing potion and once you knocked on the door something you are simply scared. Not worried, just terrified.

"Closed until further notice."

The Alchemist is gone. Inside there are no equipment left and no sign of trespassing. They simply left, like they told you. The condition of the Alchemist was getting worse each passing weeks until he had no choice to board the Dwarven Airship. And to make matters worse, the old senile Gnome escaped his son protection, lost in his memories. He presented himself to the bridge, thinking it was the Gate of the Dwarven Fortress. The Militiamen were violent with him and probably aggravated his condition. Maybe you could have prevented this when the son told you he was looking for his father.

The slums are much more packed than the rest of the City. People in rags roams in the street, trying to find food in the rubbles of libraries and other shops they burned a few weeks ago. Skeletal being are praising the sun, kneeled as if they were only feasting on its light piercing through the clouds. The smoke from the Amphitheatre now rises in a column as large as the building and you don't want to imagine what is going on down there. Also, the Disinfection Camp seems to have extended a few blocks.

With a weapon already in your right hand, you try to make the flick knife blade rotate up in the air and catch it between your index and thumb to throw at the guy. This complex manoeuver only result in the blade cutting slightly through your glove. The pain make you loose the flick knife on the ground.

The kid instantly get it back and is about to use it to stab you. Meanwhile, the rifleman is adjusting his shot. There is little room to act, you can't rush at him, but you can try to move sideways by attacking someone else, maybe he will miss his shot or else...

roll up

Feeling a sense of danger in all direction, including behind you, you roll up toward the guy with the spear. As you rises up past the tip of his weapon, you hear two loud metallic noises. There were two other enemies with maces behind who came out of the rubles.

A detonation fills the air, quickly followed by a severe hit on your crusader helmet. Your head tilts then you hear the bullet whistling in the air after a ricochet, the rifleman missed you.

What do about the spearman?

Feeling merciful or sparing yourself the vision of someone guts being teared off his stomach by your dangerous blade, you crush his nose with your helmet. Under the pain, he releases the spear, something he probably won't have done if stabbed. You have now your dagger in your other hand, but your finger still heart from the flick knife that cut through your glove.

The rifleman is pouring gunpowder into the pan, so that's mean he already tore off his paper cartridge and poured the lead inside. Meanwhile, the kid is about to throw the flick knife on you and the two mace wielding guy are still coming.

While presenting your flank to the kid, you receive the flick knife in your side. The blade tears through the fabric and find a space between your ribs right into your lung. You kneel down from the pain, your chest contracts, decreasing your breathing capacity. The blade is not too deep into the lung to cause a severe bleeding, but you will not throw anything at anyone now.

The kid has taken one of the Alchemical potion he was carrying and is about to drink it. Meanwhile, one of the mace wielding guy is about to fall down his mace on you shouting "Praise Sol". These are zealots. You already fought them in the past, in near death situation them seem to get stronger for some reason. If only you had that kind of power...

You can't die here, you have so much to accomplish yet! Susanna needs you, your mates need you, the City needs you. Still kneeling, you perceive the enemy approaching under the rim of your helmet. The morning sun is shining behind him, casting a threatening shadow on you.

With all the strenght you can gather, you rise the barrel of the pistol to the right angle, aiming at his stomach. The cloud of smoke hides your result but the loud metallic sound on the stone indicate the maces hit somewhere else. He is probably dead, right? Now only remains the rifleman and the other zealot. The first is charging at you with his rifle, using it like a mace. And the other zealot is probably about to come out of the smoke. Wait wasn't there someone else? No, the spearman is still holding hid bleeding broken nose.

The rifleman uses his rifle as a bat and is about to swing the cross in your face while screaming in terror. This confirm that he is not a zealot, unlike the one you shot but since he is the most apparent, he will be your next target.

Using the pavement as a support for your fist, you raise the barrel of the other pistol and aim directly at his head. The lead bullet explodes in his skull with a geyser of bone shards, brain and blood. But it's only a short relief, a mace had breached through the cloud of smoke and falls down on you.

>don't move and take the hit on your helmet

dodge. we have the speed potion. we'll be fine. we just bought this helmet. let's not get it dented. and it's just a kettle, with a fucking mace cracking down over us. it's not going to do much good at deflecting the hit, and I doubt it'll block much damage.
>>

>move backward, exposing your legs and your arm holding the pistol

You didn't see the zealot arming his mace, it's too late. Normally I would have you roll for dodge or enduring (that's why some armours have a protection bonus)

>>4274265

Trying to fall back in order to avoid the mace result in the weapon crushing your knee. The spikes and sharp edges rip through your clothes, flesh and bone. The pain is immeasurable despite not causing too much bleeding. However, while moving, the blade in your side scratched on your rib cage causing additional pain and a serious bleeding which made you cough blood behind your mask.

The zealot rearm his mace to finish you, while he is exposed maybe you can pull out something, literally
>pull out the flick knife and roll on your flank to the canal, avoiding the hit and fleeing (Physical) (-20 from the pain)
>use the dagger to slit one of his tendon (Physical) (-20 from the pain, -30 near death situation)

You have absolutely no idea of where to look for the cache, like a fish out of water and that is after wasting a whole hour looking around with the stinging pain in your chest and your reduced lung capacity. You take the rifle but as you are about to loot the bodies, the voice from the kid startle you. He is coming with reinforcement.

rifle is nothing more than a metal pipe encased in wood now

In your current state, you have no choices but to escape, using the rifle as a crutch, bending the metal and reducing its value to zero. You are spared the usual jokes about people bribing them because of your sorry state. Now, you look just like one of those wanderer clinging to his cane, in rags and covered in blood.

You pass in front of the cage-trees where people from the housemaid district are shivering to death because of the cold. The weather is numbing some of your pain as it is draining your life away. The first snowflake of winter falls on your hand gripping the barred of the rifle, disappearing on the blood covering your glove.

"Welcome home, my champion."

After running your hand on your chest and checking that you have been fully healed even at your knee, tears a flowing from your eyes. You failed to save her and no word can express how hopeless you feel right now or convey your empathy to the Vestal now becoming a Firekeeper.

Her hand that has been gently brushing your hair suddenly jerks back as it meets a tear, she felt the unusual temperature of a liquid on your face.

"Oh no, I thought I completely healed you. I'm sorry, where are you bleeding? I... I used my three miracle already so I can't..."

You start hearing someone coughing in the room, Mario and Luigi have relapsed because they didn't have a full meal yesterday and since nobody has a mask in the house they will soon contaminate everyone. And to make matter worse, you don't have access to anything to heal them.

"Please tell... try to tell me what happened to Hugo and Amicia, once this is over."
"..."

The clouds slowly dissipate in a very specific part of the sky. Rays of light descend upon Susanna and you feel the heat warming you up... No wait, it's almost burning. No. It is burning! Susanna is burning! She let out a scream of pain but you are more focused on your hand. She is burning but it will be more accurate to say she is just engulfed by flames, meanwhile your skin is roasting.

Is this what she endured with the trial by fire? Everyday? For a full week? And you delayed the rescue attempt? At least you can hold her hand. No, you will share the same fate even if it kills you. Heroes may be late but they never flee.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" she screams devored by the flame

Grease on your under your hand is making your skin pop. You shake it in all direction trying to put off the fire while continuing to hold hand. This is not going to be a simple burn because you spilled boiling water while cooking.

Susanna kneels down in agony, turning her face to where she thinks you are, some sort of relief appear on her face, and she tries to hold her voice for a few second before failing and continuing to scream. Soon you join her, devoured by this sensation overiding every nerves in your body.

The fire dies. The pain remains. Susanna, who did not sustain any injury is catching her breath.

"My miracles are back! Don't move." she manages to say

Still holding hand, you feel the soothing light of a healing miracle, but the pain... The pain was so intense, it's not leaving despite your hand being fully healed.

It's noon but there are no masks left in your apartment except the one you are wearing, you can't send anybody to work for ressources. Also, you still need to prepare for the reception at the EMbassy, confront Don Giovanni, find Sunshine and maybe get your revenge on the Slums.

+5 masks

You try to convey your regrets to her, but being the one apologetic she fails to understand why you caress her hand. This is making her quite uncomfortable, but also reveal a timid smile. You really need to learn how to write, maybe if you can use the words from the book you have and engrave them on wood... For now, you just want to learn about this oppressing feeling, as if you were permanently watched.

"Yes... Yes, I feel the light within you" she admits "my champion. Is it a spell you want to learn?"
"..." you shake her hand as a yes
"'Inner Strength' is a spell we teach to the zealots during our crusade. I... am quite reluctant to teach it to you... Are... Are you sure?"
"..." you shake her hand again
"It's not that I don't fine you worthy but... It's a spell to get stronger the more you receive damage. I don't like it but will not oppose your will. Also... Solar Knights can feel the warmth of Sol wherever they go. That's how we conquered the Evangelized the Northern lands."
"..." you shake her hand two times
"Do you really wish to learn both?"

You are able to use 2 miracles per day if you maintain your status of Solar Knight, what to learn?
>'Inner Strength' +5 strength by injury and do not feel pain, only slowed down physically by your injuries, cost 1 miracle
>'Warmth', heal minor injuries and do not feel cold, cost 2 miracles

Support, but give Arthur and Melie an extra mask each to wrap around their hands. Something is better than nothing, and we're going to be getting new masks now anyway.

Also, I'm not sure what we should do about the miracles thing, considering we've rapidly gone from a devotee of Charon to a Zealot of Sol. We can easily slip back, so maybe hold off on the miracles for now.

Miracles are related to Divine Magic and consum your points as favor accepted by the gods. Act accordingly to the gospel of Sol or Charon to receive them. You need to have +30,+40 and +50 to be able to use tier I, II and III.

Alternatively, you can use magic related item which also sometimes consum favours but there are no base requirement. For example the carrying the holy fire to repel rats or the voodoo dolls.

Using spell and items requires Social rolls, the current status with the god is the modifier.

You send Melie and Arthur to the Refinery with all the remaining masks. If all goes well, they will come back with a can of meat and one serving of exotic beans. Also, since they are thieves, they can steal the artefact instead of using it to get the exotic beans.

What should they do? (Melie, Arthur)
>steal artefact, all players will roll a 1d100 by thief stealing to know from which god they received the artefact then I will make you vote on which one to keep
>no, you will receive the much needed vitamins in the form of exotic beans

Leaving Saten's finely crafted box, fishmens's fin and dry sausage behind, items you can respectively bribe the Elven Commandos, Zealots from the Inquisition and Militia with but not without bargaining you try to find Alphonse. This time you are carrying the spiked mace, and 1 medium healing potion, 1 speed and 1 defence potions. You will need that in case you are asked to justify yourself about why you are outside if you don't have to work or if you are asked about the mace.

The Ratfolk is nailing today's edition on a wall, like every day at noon. He looks happier, as much as you can tell deciphering the movements of his muzzle and ears.

"Oh, I heard about that fellow." he ticks his tongue indicating excitment "He tried to steal the plan of the Nautilus from Ingothide&Son bank with the help of two thieves."
"Thives?" you growl, thinking about Melie and Arthur
"Y-Yeah..." Alphonse feels the murder intent still present in you "T-The Elven Ambassador insister for him being transfered at the EMbassy."
"WHY?"
"Eeeeeh! They need him! They need him! He worked at the Academy of Natural Philosophy, right? Even as a translator, he has seen some interesting things in Arcane Magic."
"Is he ALRIGHT?"
"I don't know." Alphonse cover his ears "Nobody saw him since then. Elves are very secretives."

You wonder how scary you are looking right now for the little Ratfolk to be scared of you. Susanna wiped the stains on your face but somehow you still feel the heat of someone else's blood running on your chin.

"How to act normal at the reception?" you inquire
"Y-You... You need to calm down first!"
"How to be interesting?!"
"Elves like book right? Why not cultivate yourself and talk about what you recently read? Also, maybe bring sugar."
"Anything to know?"
"As you know they are really dependent on the grain market. Since the Doge opened the triangular trade between the East, the City and the New World. Be aware of that."
"How to be GOOD LOOKING?"
"Eeeeeeh! Buy the most expensive outfit you can, bring a non-Human."

These are all very useful information that will come handy if you have to negotiate or partake in their intrigues. You were on your way to acquire an outfit anyway, but you might have to make a detour to gather sugar and books (see [BOOK] https://pastebin.com/u/AldebaranQM ) Finally you will have to choose between bringing someone knowledgable on the Triangular trade or a non-Human. Are you really that scary? Maybe you were traumatized is it really you speaking? You need to calm down get alcohol or a chamomille elixir. And if you want to avoid that nightmare, you need to find your loved one, attend mass or get to a brothel.

"I hear one of the nobles houses got their servants arrested one of them was a Demihuman, she died."
"Oh... last night murder. What a terrible story yet I didn't have enough space to write about it. You see with the new death toll..."
"The Demihuman harvester!? Have you heard about him?"
"Eeeeeh! I will tell you. I will tell you!"
"Bene."
"Now that you mention nobles servants... I think Don Giovanni's butler is missing. I heard he was a good acquaintance of her. The servants world is very small. I hope he is not too afflicted by her death, he was very devotd to his master."

That's enough question asked and the Ratfolk look very scared. You might want to apologize the next time you meet if you still want to ask so many questions again. For now you are heading to the bridge and just before that notice the Elf watching over the cage-trees. A lone ranger on the rooftop, as usual. The cages are shared between Stage Three infected and very healthy looking people. Someone covered in black spots sneezed and was punched by a bunch of kids he was jailed with. A grandma has her black rotten legs dangling from a cage with the feet which fell off on the ground, her neighbour is squeezing his head between the oak wooden bars with insane looking eyes trying to escape. And finally a pregnant woman hiding herself behind a tissue now covered in blood and pus is trying to protect herself from an aggressive infected Stage Three man about your size. Back on the street level, you can break the cages of everyone, the strong infected man thank you while pushing away the pregnant woman he was caged with. The turbulent kids are running around, enjoying their freedom while the infected previously caged with them avoid them. And finally, as soon as you open the cage where the grandma was, the man sharing her fate dash toward the bridge without a word like a madman.

Some of them are feeling grateful for what you did and you can probably put that to use. That's what you think when you approach the bridge too... It's the rush hour but the checkpoint is almost deserted and nobody is allowed past the Grand Canal. And to make matters worse, Donna Francesca Quattroriocche or 'Franz' is there. The leader of the Militia, self-proclaimed luckiest woman alive does not bother about the cold and still have her light gambeson wide open.

She is mounting her Lizardman like a horse and on each side of the bridge, there one rifleman with a stiltsman. The two Militiamen guarding the other side are busy arresting the madman you freed from the cage.

All the people you rescued get away from you as you rush with your mace on the nearest rifleman. The nails in the sturdy wood shred the face of the Militiaman who does not even have the time to defend himself. He probably thought you were going to bribe him again and now... Now you just smashed his face with a mace.

He falls to the ground, convulsing on his rifle and spitting blood in intermittent streams. The stiltsman and Franz saw that. First, your twelve feet tall enemy quickly shortens the distance between you and him, making staccatos noises on the pavement like a giant spider. He is about to pierce you with a one of his pike while having his stilts at safe distance from you.

missed

You curl up your body, rolling with your arm forming an arc and exposing your side with the helmet to the rifleman. The shot ricochet on the pavement near you, he missed. As you rise up, with a dagger in one hand and a pistol in another. Unarmed, you didn't have the occasion to call on your inner strength, but soon you will have the occasion to do that.

Indeed, Franz is about to charge you with the Lizardman, making a sparkling trail with zweihander on the bridge. The sight of this Valkyrie is absolutely terrifying, you feel the stones reverberate the heavy footsteps of her mount and can't help but notice her carnivorous smile. She is about to get her revenge.

"You won't escape me now..." she screams "murderer!"

Her voice bites harder than the cold, she is referring to your use of the Coastal Canon. Is it true you fire at civilians? You never bothered to investigate or even clean your honnor. The stiltsman is now turning to face you again, if he strike you will receive the pike in the back, also the other siltsman is coming from the other side of the bridge.

what's wrong with this horse?

Now looking up close, you can see the rope of light around the Lizardman neck. You don't know everything about its properties like why Susanna couldn't arm the Grand Inquisitor while subjugated or why the Lizardman is obeying Franz because of them, but what you know is how to break them. The earth shakes under the beast approaching, his jaw wide open with drool dripping from its sharp teeth like a lagoon crocodile.

"Evil is a name of a foeman, as I live." you chant "Never a foot too far, even."
"What the..." she starts feeling a first tremor

Feeling that something terrible might have happened to her, she dismounts the beast and indeed a second time, he trembles and violently jerk back. The Lizardman, freed from his shackles, uses his own very fangs to tear off the harness, not even caring about the damage he is inflicting himself. Once completely freed naked, he lets out a powerful roar and without care for his mistress dive into the Grand Canal. What? Is that it? You were told the Lizardman she was riding was some sort of criminal, who know what might happen now.

"You!" she frowns her brow looking disgusted at you "What. Have. You. Done?"

close shave

"Do you need your eyes checked?" you taunt "Your lizard ran off."

She grimaces, perplexed to fall down to this level of bant, clearly she expected better. Having no idea how to parry a longsword and someone in this particular guard, you step to the side as she thrust it forward. The blade slide on your cheek, giving you a literal close shave, you lost four left sideburns. "Does this count at as an injury for the Inner Strengh?" you think while planning your next move, but nothing happens within you.

"What happened between the two of you anyway?" you continue "Is it fed up that you're too busy 'servicing' your men to give it any attention?"
"Disgusting..." then she grins "And, also not bad."

What's nex-

"AAARGH" you scream

The pikeman just pierced through your calf with his spear. You shouldn't have turned your back on him. Franz does not seem to care about this disloyal move, she is not a knight after all and tries to provoke you sometimes. The injury in your leg radiate through your body, a burning liquid is spreading from your heart and you feel reinvigorated, even stronger. It doesn't hurt but you can't move it. The pikeman retrieved his lance as you kneel down, there is obviously a major bleeding going and your muscle does not respond. It's a good thing you don't feel the pain. Also, the rifleman on the other side of the bridge has finished reloaded and will jump on the first occasion to shoot at you.

sorry, partner

You turn your chest as far as you can to him, still firmly planted on the ground and with your left hand slightly hidden your right armpit you hold the flintlock pistol.

"No need to get jealous." you almost excuse yourself calmly

The lead projectile enters through his belly, making him loose balance. There is no need to care if he was shot dead on the spot since he falls quickly in the canal with his pike. Since you only made the smallest amount of movements to aim at him, you saved time enough to draw the other pistol.

"Ah ah ah ah!" Franz laughs "I'm starting to like you. But this is as far as you go."

Taking advantage of her higher position, Franz prepares a roof guard to make her zweihander fall down on you. And just in case the other stiltsman is passing above her about to pierce you with his pike. The two enemies blocking your field of you is the only reason the rifleman did not shoot at you.

Your enemy stands proudly before you, twelve feet tall. Pressing the trigger with a particular angle, you see everything in slow motion. The mainspring is released, the cock rotates and the flint sparkle against the fritzzen, setting ablaze the pan. The cloud carries your bullet right where you intended, not only killing the stiltsman but in a manner that he falls forward on Franz. You came here knowing perfectly aware of the rush hour and Franz, yes it is that time of the day, it's high noon.

"Move away, you pathetic worm!" she struggles under the weight of her dead subordinate

You are still kneeling on the bridge, so the rifleman on the other side has trouble adjusting his shot if he does not want to arm his leader. The injury on your leg prevent you from running around or performing a complex movement, but you can still reload. However, Franz might be a woman, she is a soldier and will soon come out from under the dead stiltsman.

Consider this vote for hostage/social, I suppose. Lets see how far we can take this. I figure the write-in will do rather well. We hold so much power right here. Right now. -Militia if formed with the sailors of the SSN (Suo Serenissimo Nave) who have been called back for a crisis
-funded by patricians personal fortune with the Doge coming in top position

You gulp down the healing potion but since the pain is numbed thanks to 'Inner Strength' you have to visually confirm that you leg is fully healed and it is. The combination of Alchemy and Divine Magic really works well, you think. Meanwhile, the rifleman has disappeared and you did not pay enough attention to see where he went.

The bottle falls empty on the stone pavement with a steep noise ringing in the cold air. Francesca followed each of your movement with a tantalizing expression and stared wide open at the empty phial, probably unaware she licked her lips.

"This is as far as you go. Didn't see this coming, did you?"
"What can I say?" she pouts "You won."

Despite the crushing weight of her subordinate she manages to shrug her shoulder. You fear that she might escape but her relaxed expression, the way she considers her defeat after acting all high and mighty kind of pisses you off.

"So what are you gonna do with a poor woman at your mercy, signore?" she jokes in the face of death "I've seen worse."
"Listen here and listen close, or this blade will find your throat. Then, I'll be off to finish off your last man. When the shift changes, your men will find nothing here but your corpse and this dagger. Franz, of the militia. Gutted by the knife ears. Her corpse left in the street, reduced to nothing more than a message. A declaration of war. The city will be in turmoil."
"Tchh..." she pests "You're a dangerous man... Whether you want to talk or kill me you will have to come closer... or are you afraid?"

She rises slightly letting you see her exposed chest and the dice pendant between, her breast, but this kind of distraction has no effect on you. However... This tattoo sure does look interesting. Wait. It has some strange runic inscriptions, but you can't recognize them this far.

Does she not even care about dying? Or the City? You clearly said what will happen if she is found like that. Has her luck or addiction driven her crazy? Actually what do you want from her?

What do you want actually?

Donna Francesca Quattroriocche, that's a name if I've ever heard one.
What is the end goal of the militia? What does the doge want? This plague.. how did it began and what is your doge doing to stop it?

>We want the militia to cleanse the city from the elves, the infected and the zealots. Either this plague ends or the city burns.
>>
>>4276561
Requesting a longer voting process on this one Alde, seems like an important decision.

Well. What do we want? We want to save the city. We also want to help the people. Currently we're making progress on finding a cure, but between the plague, Elves, and Militia, the people simply aren't safe. The militia should be helping the people, not exploiting them. I'm just not sure if Franz is willing to do that.
>>
>>4276561
I want answers.
Some things I'd like to ask about:
>The Cultist Bomber.
Was it a Militia False Flag attack meant to discredit us? Could she share any information that she has gathered about the true culprit assuming it was not related to the Militia?
>Where our shot utilizing the Coastal Battery actually landed. What it hit.
If we ask this, it may enrage her. Certainly seems to be a sore subject for her. Best to put it off for later in the questioning.
>Her lizardman.
He was a former criminal. I'd like to hear his crimes. See if we just released some kind of death cultist that eats human flesh or not. Releasing it definitely could have consequences later. It'd be best to narrow down what to anticipate.
>Her runic tattoo/dice charm
Is it the source of her luck? How does it work?
>If she she would like to grab a healing potion with us some time :^)
If we can ask these, as well as make a demand, then I support >>4276575 along with my vote to question her. If it's one or the other, then I'm sticking with my questioning/potential hostage acquisition. We have the grappling hook. We could tie her up pretty easily. Not a permanent solution, but it would work for the time being.
>>
>>4276598
maybe she got too comfortable doing nothing, maybe she lost her mind because of the addiction. We could hold her hostage and force her to go cold turkey.

The biggest threat that they could solve for us would be doing a swipe on the slums (zealots, thieves, and demihuman killers), the red district (organ harvester) and put a stop on the elves doing whatever they want
>>
>>4276610
The problem I have with ordering her around is that there's nothing preventing her from betraying us as soon as we leave. She doesn't strike me as the most honourable person, considering the stuff she's done in the past.
>>
>>4276614
>>4276599
so two choices?
we ask questions, we demand free passage and protection forever or we come back, set city on fire and throw her in the flames.

Or we hold her hostage, we make her go cold turkey, she spills the beans and we know about the doge, the elves and the plague. Maybe even get her on our side?

"I want you to take the guards off this damned bridge." you list your demands "I want the militia to cleanse the city from the elves, the infected and the zealots."
"Ah ah" she laughs it off "And I want to get drunk on healing potions after slaying a dragon... What a naive prick."
"Either this plague ends or the city burns."
"No. First the city burns, then the plague ends. You have no idea what His Most Serene is trying to accomplish, your little brain cannot understand. People like us have other bigger parts of our body to use... Well, do you, stronzo?"
"I'm not joking! I'm trying to find a cu-"

As you are starting to get fired up, she makes a powerful push-up, propelling back the dead soldier. She was an adventurer after all. You don't even have time to react on that messing with the Elven dagger and the flintlock pistol. She takes you by the throat, digging her finger.

You are about to stab her or fire a round in her stomach, but she is going to headbutt you, no it's she is about to bite you. Ah... No, it's kiss. Wait. Why? Forcing her tongue past your pressed lips, she tries to taste the remnant of the healing potion. Once she finally pushes you back you consider k-killing t-thi-this woman for what s-she did!

"W-What was that for?" you stutter
"I like a man who can subjugate me like that." she turns her back picking her zweihander

Staring a little too long when she leans down over her sword, you realize it's way to long for her to prepare an attack. She actually offered her back like that. Then she put rest her sword on both her shoulder, provocatively exposing her chest.

"I'm just a soldier. You came to the wrong person for the decisions." she shrugs "I admit you are quite impressive. The assault on the Citadel really put the Doge in a bad position."
"..."
"Hey snap out of it!"
"Yeah, the Doge! That bastardo!"
"Pfff... Don't try to think, you are much better a fighting. I will only tell you this. Every household is already infected, and we expect the population to halve this week. The plague will starve itself and much people will profit from it."
"Wait! I have more questions!"
"Aha it's too bad." she waves her hand fainting being disappointed "I was so badly injured at the bridge that I needed to get healing potions."

Is she really going to get away like that? This is not your first kiss but it's the first time a woman force herself on you like that. But is she really bad person? Since she came back, the Militia behave much better, the killing at the bridge stopped except for Stage Three. You let Stage Three infected die too... She might fight in a disloyal manner but... She is really faithful to the Doge, ain't she?

The bridge has been cleared, with the rifleman escaping, what do?

If you have any questions about the City, the World or really anything that Alfonso might know the response of, I will answer to them through the day.

I don't suppose we'll get her healing potion stash if we kill her? I'd like to shoot her in the back, but considering her luck it might be a waste of time. Oh well. Seems like the doge might be a Why contain it? kinda guy in the meantime, maybe we should just ask Giovanni if we should murder him instead.

Don't worry about your questions or the bridge, this situation changed obviously. But this is not the right place to ask.

If you want the potion, you know where to find them. The Citadel is the place to go.

Alternatively, if you feel like it, you can kill her. Bring her body to Lady Cremosa, and make it and undead thrall.

You could end her life right here, right now! But, unsure of the implication you decide to let her go, there's no telling what she will do when you both meet again since her personnality is hard to define. First, you know she is addicted to healing potion. Bene, but being an addict is not a personality trait. She is violent and like to fight and doesn't value the lives of the citizens or her menn they are more like her footsoldier entrusted to her by her highly regarded Doge. Finally she liked being subdued by a stronger opponent and you scored high in her esteem.

"URGH!" the rifleman is still convulsing

There are two bodies on the bridge, the stiltsman and the rifleman you smashed the face with a mace. He is having a seizure like a fish out of the water while bleeding to death. The very same person you give a gold coin to and who thought of you like as a hero. He even let you pass despite being covered in blood and using a broken rifle as a clutch. Inside his pocket you find a black and white photography of his family. He is a colon as you can deduce from his house being located in the New World, leaving everything behind to help the City, his birthplace. You only have a medium healing potion and you know that with that kind of injury, he won't fully heal and fall unconscious.

The streets are deserted. Everybody is respecting the self-quarantine order, so you only sound you hear are coming from patrols and thus it's easier to avoid them. Your exposed skin is assaulted by the cold and you already have a runny nose, shivering to the core when you arrive deep in the Craftsmen District. A short stop at the nearer Apothecary to at least warm up would have been nice. The Tailor's face looks really tense, he is nailing planks on the front of his shop with a shoemaker hammer and holding scissors tightly in hs other hand. He isn't even surprised to see you covered in blood and with a huge hole on your knee because of the mace earlier this morning. You expect to greet him menacingly with the same tone you have been speaking to Alphonse, further aggravating his stress but you voice comes out normally. T-That kiss really calmed you down, you should do something similar if you get traumatized again, much cheaper than an elixir or a brothel.

"How is your business going?" you ask
"They will come again!" He lets out in a steep, loosing his voice "I have to protect the shop, I HAVE to."

You pick inside and see one less seamstress working in the back shop also several outfits are missing from the collection. Hopefully he can still clean/repair your outfits, however you didn't bring any of them, just the one you are wearing.

-1 rifle (consigned at the Tailor)
+1 costume for the reception (+10 for whatever happens at the reception)

After your transaction, you take the direction of the Noble District, shivering because of the cold. There is a thin layer of ice on some surface and the pale rays of the sun do nothing to protect you. You pass near the Arsenal where you can hear Franz laughing about her defeat while drinking with.

"Is there any of you, cornutos, with enough balls to fight me?" she shouts
"Please leader, calm down." someone tries to calm her
"Are YOU going to calm me? Look at how skinny you are!"

She finishes her healing potion and block his head under her armpit. Then with the whole momentum of her body, slam him backward like a pugilist gladiator.

After knocking on the door of Don Giovanni's mansion, you have to wait for a while before someone answers. You were told by Alphonse the butler was gone and deduced he might be the Organ Harvester or at least killed the housemaid.

"Alfonso, is that you?" Bernardo opens the door
"What's happening here?" you ask
"I don't really know well. The butler suddenly left with a lot a group of Demihumans refugees. You know that me and Raphaella were initially supposed to go with them."

You run up the huge staircase of the reception hall, forward to your fate and slam open the door of the workshop.

"Bongiorno, Alfonso. Normally, I would have asked you what I can do for you but with Sebastien gone I have a favour to ask."
"What are you even talking about? That butler of yours was the Organ Harvester?"
"He was... what? Please explain, this is not making any sense. He is the most loyal servant I ever had... well until he left. He organized all the departures of the Demihumans refugees to the New World because of the Harvester."
"First, all the Demihumans attacked were courtesans from La Landa address book. Then, only his housemaid knew about his fetishes. Recently I learned that Sebastien was really close to her and after I revealed to him what I knew she was mysteriously murdered, and he was gone."
"That's... horrible accusations. Sebastien is a very kind person. I can't believe he murdered so many."
"He didn't. He only cut tails and ears. At first, he went for non-vital organs but that led to unexpected deaths."
"I... I see. I-I never thought his loyalty would be so... troublesome."

Don Giovanni collapses on his workbench, grabbing his face to hide his expression.

Great, now you are in a middle of a fight between underworld lords. Also, somehow, the Doge position has been compromised.

"But why sending them to the New World? You mentioned your dream of a Demihuman paradise there, once."
"Yes... I did... And believe me or not, I still think that every species deserve their own land that they can rule how they want."
"And I suppose you want to rule this one? A City where Demihumans are gone?"
"Don't misunderstand me." he smiles, appreciating the banter "In fact, ideologies have little things to do with politics nowadays. My... 'group' is a collection of families who build up their fortune by watching over the City workforces, breaking up strikes or distributing soup for the poor so that factories did not close. We are the living economic tissue of the City and we have been for centuries, however..."
"The Doge, right?"
"Exactly. Since the Doge came into power, he introduced Demihuman slavery which resulted in more unemployment and let say that slaves don't need our careful 'management'."
"So, you wanted that exodus?"
"I did and Sebastien might have misinterpreted my motivations... At least, we the Demihumans gone it will create a vacuum for employment and destabilize the Doge party for the upcoming election."

So, it's just politic. Did his butler just murdered people to create employment? And what is this policy of 'us first before slaves', is that racism?

"What is it you wanted from me?"
"With Sebastien gone it's hard to keep the take care of the mansion. Would you return Raphaella to us? I might find her a job."
"She is not my slave."
"Of course not. What she does with what I pay her only regards the two of you. But that's only half of the duty Sebastien had to fulfil."
"What else?"
"The re-election of the Doge is coming. Soon the College will have its annual session and vote to re-elect him or not. A Doge is a prestigious position with the power to bypass every decision of the College, that's why we only meet once year now..."
"I don't like his policy anyway."
"I need someone by my side at the College. A sort of honour guard if you like... With Bernardo working on the Cure, and the Demihumans gone, I think this time I can oppose his re-election. Of course there is a pay."

That's unexpected, a rare opportunity to spit in the face of the nobles and explain to the Doge your point of view... explain with your fists that is. Did you only serve Don Giovanni's interests from the start? Is it alright for someone like him to become the Doge?

"Human-size... No, perhaps it's better to say even bigger if it's an Eastern Gorilla and about twice your weight."
"I wanted to ram the ship in the Noble District."
"If you manage to sedate the animals you find, I will have my smuggler help you carry them in the tunnels, but..."
"The noise when they wake up, right?"
"Exactly. You should move them to the abandoned Industrial District as soon as you can. We will provide some resources to defend the factory and Bernardo can work there."

I'd prefer to do this one. We're mostly focused on the alchemy route, and both Gallileof brothers are dead, but it has the most appeal to me. We should at the very least attempt to get some of the Inquisitorial Heat off of the Cult of Charon. If the cemetery is closed, and the magic school is being investigated, I don't think they have long. We've lost out on a lot of opportunities to save those close to us. We should turn that around, man.

Just to confirm Sebastien culpability, you look around in his austere room. There are some souvenirs of his past as a mercenary. Surgical instruments of the time he was a medic on the battlefield. You remember he treated Melie's wound before and also, as the most prized possession a photography of him in a soup distribution near a factory. Some flyers near the photo mention Demihumans slaves replacing the Human workforce and finally, a letter.

Don Giovanni,

I thank you for everything that you have done for me. I believed in your plan to save the City from poverty but it was taking too long. So, I decided to speed up the process and convince Demihumans to flee the City by acting as the Organ Harvester. I tried to cause as few fatalities as I could and put the blame on Lady Barielle's associate.

Don't let your motivation flatters after seeing the means I employed at your service, your cause is right, but you don't know. You don't know the suffering of the people. They don't need hope or promise of a bright future of full employment. They need food in their plate, and they need it right now. I will atone for my sins as a medic in the New World, if you think I deserve death come find me and I will accept your judgement.

Sebastien, your loyal butler

This letter should be useful to prove the innocence of Mr. Goodhealth the Apothecary, but it means ruining the effort Sebastien. Maybe the Cannery will be reopened to Demihumans if they found out the Organ Harvester is gone and then more Human will be jobless.

You promised to attend the College session by presenting yourself at the Mansion the day after tomorrow at 8PM and also send back Raphaella. With Mario also gone tomorrow, your number of companions for your daily expeditions is greatly reduced. Maybe you can check up on Sunshine the mermaid or investigate about Dark Miracle with Lady Cremosa. Finally, if you ever want to get onboard the Jonque for the monkeys, you will either have to get a Mystical Stone Parachute to put on top of the Clocktower or maybe access it from the Embassy, wasting opportunities to investigate about da Costa or Corym.

What do?
>get a Mystical Stone Parachute (-10 loaded)
>steal a gondola (Mental)
>go meet Sunshine the mermaid

You make it to the Office District at 3PM where Sunshine cabaret is, or... was. A big white cross painted over it announces that the building has been closed due to the plague. And when you see a rat running from the house, you understand why. This is very close to the Dead Zone now that you think about it and you don't see any Holy Fire burning to repel the rats. You find a letter nailed to the door.

Dear stranger,

Don't worry about your items, I hide them behind the building near the canal.

I heard the news about the Gallileof's death. The world lost two beautiful voice that will never sing again and I lost two very dear friends. I am sure you did your best and I can't expect someone to put his life in danger to save someone they don't know.

Grichka and Igor were the only real friends I made in the City. As a mermaid, I have a hard time sorting out people who fall under my charm because of Poseidon's blessing and genuine friends. I would be happy to count you as the latter, though. However, I must turn back to the see. Despite the Kraken occupying our caves I can't stay in the City and let them hear a sad mermaid sing that would be too dangerous for these Humans I started to like.

Farewell stranger and take care

PS: I told Lady Barielle about you, like me she is having a hard time with Humans grovelling at her feet. But since you resisted her charms, she's already fond of you.

So, she can be honest with her feeling but only wy writting. After that you get back at your house at 5PM, the bridge is still cleared, you are heading to the Peal of the Ocean to talk with Lady Barielle. However, you are completely frozen to the bone and a sudden urge to release yourself forces you to run near a canal. You also puke just after standing up and realize your reduced lung capacity is not the result of exhaustion from all that running.

Also, when you finally get upstair for a well needed rest of a few minutes. You hear the same noise you made coming from Luigi and Mario. They also had relapsed sice they didn't eat properly last night.

You have two healing potions, two masks and Susanna has two miracles left for today. Also, Susanna and Valentina were here, exposed without a mask wat do?
>continue to Lady Barielle
>someone drink a medium healing potion, write-in

Luigi and Mario fall to sleep after getting healed. It's quite cold in the apartment, no wonder they relapsed so fast. You give your three (not two as as said previously) to everyone but one of them will have to go without.

Who does not get a mask?
>Luigi
>Mario
>Valentina
>Susanna

Also, send Raphaella to Don Giovanni's mansion alone?
>yes
>no

After warming up a few minutes to face the severe cold outside, you realize the sun is setting and that feeling of strength you had when receiving an injury earlier is gone. You want to get closer to the brothel area but the fires on the rooftops signal you that the area is being watched by the self-proclaimed benevolent benefactor of the Elven Commandos.

How do you get to the Pearl of the Ocean?
>sneak (Mental) (2hours)
>use the elven cloak and your grappling hook to pass as one of them walking on the roofs (Physical) (1 hour)
>drink an ignored potion
>walk normally
>>
>>4278280
Damn I thought we had enough

>Mario

We've done everyone else super dirty

>no

We'll escort her later.

Mario is sleeping without a mask. You hope he will not get angry when waking up.

You carefully avoid a fire camp that should be on a house watching over the street but get surprised by a call behind you.

"Where are you going Human the curfew started and you were enven told to self-isolate." one of them say
"What are you carrying there, little rat?" another say
"It's one of our cloak." and another one say
"You will have to explain yourself." finally the las one say

Elven Commando were hiding on another rooftop without a fire. Actually, they probably used the first one to make you believe you could avoid them. The sky is heavily clouded but it's not snowing. You were surprised by four Elven Commandos, at least there is no magic caster among them but they can probably use spirit magic and should be carrying medium healing potion with their daggers and bow.

They have the higher ground, what do?

Pulling the diplomatic incident card after what we had tried to threaten Franz with is amusing. Think we ought to go with this. There seems to be 4 of them. They have the drop on us this time. Intimidation would not work. Also 0 time to get some battle prep in if that option went to shit. Which it would.

Have you ever considered getting voluntarily imprisoned by Elves at the Embassy?

I found it on one of those baited traps for you, it was cold so I took it.
