"Bring out your dead!"The sinister call pierces through the fog, announcing the passage of a boat. The corpse retriever on his gondola pulls his oar and renews his call. People whose door have been marked by a white cross close their shutter, trying to ignore their terrible fate. Other choose to face it, like this husband who exiled himself to protect his wife and ended up nailed on the pavement by the Elven Commando's arrows. A woman is crying over his charred body, cursing the benevolent benefactors turning into an occupation force.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvKp4XQAwY0Despite your imposing build, you carefully avoided the fight with the knife-ears until now, focusing on your relatives. It didn't really work out. You left your butcher's shop to take care of two ex-mates from your past as a sailor. The first one nearly drowned in his own blood and is now at the overcrowded Hospital, recovering with a stolen high priority triage wristband you counterfeit. The second one lost his mind after you fed half a healing potion to his wife who lost her arm, causing the limb to only partially grew back."Oi, show your face down there." a voice orders youYou arrived the bridge checkpoint. At least beyond the Grand Canal it's the Militia that is maintaining order. They are Humans, like you, even if they tend to forget it atop their stilts. You saw them conduct people with blood stains in camps and the river is still carrying the bodies of the ones with black spots they tossed over the bridge. Plus, they discriminate against Demihumans which has made them into your favourite target until now... somehow.Heading to the Noble District, you are getting elixirs to a traumatized Alchemist you freed from their jail. Maybe this man will find a cure once he has himself recovered from two weeks of torture. In order to save this City, you allied yourself with a Witch from the Cult of Charon and a Noble Inventor with connections to the underworld. There is also that mermaid you don't really like and who control the Fishmen. AT last, you make it to the Inventor's mansion where the Alchemist has taken shelter and are greeted by his butler."Signore Barbatti?" the stern old man looks down at you"You can call me Alfonso." you answer feeling disdain behind the formality"This house has standards. Signore Barbatti... unlike you. Should I lead you to Don Giovanni, or maybe Dottore Pastori?"He referred of that time you coma back from the Citadel, soiling your clothes because of the infection and almost succumbing to the fever. What's wrong with him? You think. That was an incredible feat. Saving that Pastori from the Militia while infected!>"I want to talk to Don Giovanni", ask something to the inventor-smugglers' ringleader>"I have an elixir from Pastori", help the traumatized alchemist to regain his sanity>"Before that, I have to ask/tell you something" (more options)
The PlagueIt's a multiple stages disease where a patient can relapse and progress to the next stage even if he was treated. There is an appropriate level of treatment for each stage and different type of contamination that you learned. You are currently infected with symptoms of Stage One after touching a Stage Two blood.https://pastebin.com/Zu47npJ6Organ HarvesterSomeone has assaulted Demihumans, cut their ears, tail, removed non-vital organs, which resulted in some deaths. The rumours spread that elixir were made out of these harvest since Demihumans are immunized. This is very damaging to Mr. Goodhealth an Apothecary affiliated with the mermaid whose shop has been attacked.Rescuing SusannaAfter saving the two children of Dottore Paul, the head director of the Academy who warned about the Plague but was murdered by the Inquisition, she was captured herself. Thankfully you send the children to a safe place but you have to find a way to break the Divine Magic spell restraining her in the Church.Cultist AttackSomeone claiming to be from the Cult of Charon suicide bombed himself at ration distribution. The Witch told you she had nothing to do with it and wish to apprehend the culprits to save her young apprentices from the backlash. >>4229821>>4230031"I came here for Pastori, can I see him?" you askChoosing to ignore his attitude or just let it pass, you focus on the reason of your visit. The butler just snorted in disdain at your lack of courage. It's maybe for the best in front of this ex-mercenary turned bodyguard but your ego suffered a little from that. Regardless, he conducted you to the upper floor where the rescued Alchemist is nursed back to health by his Demihuman's girlfriend.Bernardo is awake, at least. Raphaella, his lover, is feeding him a soup with a spoon, gently blowing before bringing it to his mouth. He swallows with no real emotions, but his willingness is remarkable compared to how violently he refused a healing potion. You wonder if he still need one, though. After two weeks of torture, you found him like that, covered in scars and bruises. "Buona Sera, Raphaella." you interrupt the Demihuman "I brought you your belongings and an elixir for Bernardo.""M-My clothes!" she exclaims looking at the package "Wonderful""I see that there are some progress.""He can finally eat, and he stopped screaming. Maybe... Maybe he doesn't remember me."After pouring the chamomile elixir in the soup and feeding him some more, he starts to appear more relaxed, maybe a little sleepy. Before he forgets completely about this world of suffering and goes to sleep for his first night without nightmare, you can try to dectypt some of his nonsense he shouted earlier. You read the notes Raphaella has been taking while watching his agitated sleep:Monkeys. Need to find monkeys. Twelve should be enough. NOT THE IRON AAAAAAARGH. Ne Demihumans. Demihumans no good. No serum. No cure. I don't know any Demihuman. PLEASE NOOOOOOO. Philosopher Stone just a Mystical Stone aretefact. A legend. A LEGEND. A LEGEND. UNTRUE. OH PLEASE NO NOT THE HEALING POTION. DON'T TURN ME INTO GOLD. NOT AGAAAAAAINYour curiosity is tickling but you should focus on something that will help you collect the ingredients for the cure. On the other hand, you can soothe his worries about something he had to endure and help him recover faster, but this is a risky move. What should you ask about? (pick 1) >the monkeys>the iron>Demihumans>serum>Philosopher Stone>healing potion>turning into gold

>>4230238"The monkeys, bernardo, why twelve?" you ask "Enough for what?""Yes..." he mumbles "Thank you, Dottore Wong, enough for a serum."The alchemist lowers his head several times before jerking it up, fighting his tiredness. Raphaella finished feeding him the elixir and gently helped him to his bed. At least you are now certain the monkeys are part of the cure if that 'serum' is related to the cure, that is.Does that 'Dottore Wong' rings any bells to you?>no, let's wait tomorrow to not go on a wron track>yes (Mental)>yes, write-in
>>4230309>yes, that note from the academy, twelve monkeys, one cured of stage three. Wong is sent a ship to Pastori after they failed to cure it on their city

That note from the Academy provide enough intel on what to do next. You have to get the monkeys for his researches.Weather conditions:Heavily clouded skySevere WindAverage TemperatureThe wind howl through the branches of a tree outside, you can't see the moon, shrouded by clouds. And also, Elves should be busy cracking down on insurgent away from the Harbor. Plus, you are in the only District where you can steal gondolas. Partly because of the gusts of wind making too much noise of anyone to concentrate and also because he noticed something very interesting on you."Alfonso!" he exclaims "Is that a grappling hook?""Uh... yes." you hesitate"And just when I was studying runes to create semi-intangible movable parts!""I'm afraid you lost me, Don Giovanni.""Oh right... >>4230522>>4230537"These devices are intriguing, Don Giovanni" you think out loud "Can you tell me more?"Upon hearing this, the young noble takes firmly your hand. You have never seen him act so close with another person. When he talks about politics, it's always so distant for him like mentioning daily chores. His invention, however..."I'm so glad I found someone like you to use these inventions, Alfonso.""Uh... thanks. I suppose.""So I told you about the Magic lenses I gave you. They could help you to see two things far apart from each other if I can improve them. For that I need a book like I said, otherwise you can only transmit colours and shapes.""Yeah... I am still not sure how to use them for.""Than there is the grappling hook gun I can make with a congreve rocket and an Iceburst Stone. I think you can use it ten times.""And the Mystical Stones Parachute.""Yes of course. You made an incredible use of this device to save Bernardo. You can refuel it yourself very easily. And finally, I am working on an automated sentry that could trigger any mechanism if a person passes close to it. For that, I would need to study 'The mechanical boy' by Jepperio, it's a Gnomish book."You have to pull your hand away since he did not let go during his whole explanation. It's impressive to see how this grey eminence loose all his cool when you mention Arcane Magic. He is so overjoyed that he would not mind another question."The elves used a strange magic, some sort of chanting, what is it?" You ask "Are they spirits or runes on their bows?""So you are interested in Spirit Magic?" he smiles with contempt, neither approving or rejecting your interest "It's possible to enchant a weapon and that's indeed Arcane Magic, but the knowledge has been long-lost. Sadly you would have to find someone else for that." he shrugs "However, elves are using Spirit Magic.""How does it work? I heard it's common among Faeris and Elves. Didn't you study In Fairy Land?""Ah... That's a long story." he sits back in a chair "There are as many spirits as there are concepts in the world. Earth, wind, fire, water, darkness, dreams, love... luck" he hesitated on the last one "Depending on your affinity you can have them help you perform tricks for you. It's a way to bypass Divine Magic and it is consequently regarded as very heretical by the Church and other Cults too.""So they can use 'Spirit of Wind' and 'Spirit of Fire' to enhance their arrows?""Yes, you get the point. Maybe I can help you find your affinity but I would need some preparations. And as for learning spell, you would be on your own."
>>4230654That was not really an interesting topic for him. It's almost as if it pained him to talk about that. All progression you made to break the ice encasing the young noble heart is gone. YOu are now left with your last question."I need help to extract the monkeys. They are vital to Bernardo's work.""I hear you..." Don Giovanni turns his head at the windows listening to the howling in the branches of his backyard tree "My smugglers would have a really hard time flying in these conditions.""Is there anything you can do about the Elves? They are restricting the access to the Harbor.""Have you thought about a distraction? If you come up with any particular objective that I can help you achieve with my inventions, I would gladly help.""I didn't really think about a plan.""I see...""But about the monkeys, can I at least bring them here?"Don Giovanni stops for a moment while turning back his head at you, surprised by your question and just burst out laughing."Ah ah ah! Alfonso, you are too much.""W-What's wrong?""The Militia is already conducting sector sweep even here. I have a hard time hiding Bernardo and it's highly risky to have you stay here. Don't you think their noise will attract attention?""Ah... It's true...""Ah ah... Don't make that face Alfonso. I'm sure you can find a place big enough in the Industrial District, but since there are no law enforcement there you will have to defend the building."You shake hands with the noble and are conducted in the ballroom by the butler. Here you can try to devise a plan on how to get the monkeys from the quarantined ships. Maybe Lisa or the Mermaid could help too. It's still not 7PM yet, so you can try to steal a steam gondola and get home before midnight. At home, Luigi and Mario could help you think about something for the plan like Amicia did.>stay here and devise a plan alone>steal a gondola and get back home>use the tunnels and sneak/your grappling hook to get to the bridge

>>4233899>>4233907>>4233913>>4233973The rumour about the madman who used the Coastal Battery on a residential area has been bugging you for too long. First, you might have miscalculated the shot, then Franz provoked you by accusing you of firing on civilians. And the finishing touch, the Militia has spread the rumour accordingly. There was also that old man from the Craftsmen District who mentioned his house being destroyed by an explosion. Maybe you could start there, or ask Alphonse to interview you.If you need to investigate the cultist attack, it would be smart to look for someone who could have provided a bomb in the Craftsmen District or the Slums. Also supposing it's the same person, you could investigate the graffities and the assaults. Since the graffities in the Industrial District were washed away by the rain, you have to make a thorough search. And if you want to find a testimony in the Offices District, you will have to use your charisma to make them talk. You will have to cross the bridge for all these. No stone is left unturned. And after four hours of search, maybe, just maybe, you overdid it. It's now 11AM. If you want to cross the Grand Canal, you will have to rush to the bridge before noon unless you want to confront Franz and her 'luck', or maybe a change of plans. Any way, while preparing to get out of the Industrial District you review your notes. The signs were obviously made with a white paint, the same used to mark doors of plague victims. They were on several heights and followed a pattern. From that you can conclude that there was only one person painting them, and he/she used some sort of assistance to get so high. Finally, the signs are quite lame and generic with 'hail Charon' and 'death to Sol' being the most used. How did the perpetrator get so high? >a non-Human like Elves who can jump higher >a grappling hook like yours >a Mystical Stone Parachute >a jump potion (you will investigate the choice you picked first) Why are the writings so lame? >probably a child, you should confront Lisa's disciples >a false flag of someone who lacks imagination >a prank unrelated to this case >Demihuman brain Anything you checked while looking at the signs? >write-in (write-in are always available but I may or may not choose them) Finally, you should investigate the paint used since it is similar to the one used by the corpse retrieval team to mark the house. This leaves you with three possible leads. Now you should decide if you want to continue and try to find evidences on the place of the bombing despite the Militia already cleaned it or change of location. Where to go? >look for evidences where the suicide bombing took place >get to the Redlight District >rush to the bridge (Physical) (will give a -10 tired Physical condition until next morning)

Your lung and throat still hurt but you are not cold any more."S-Sorry, I'm just a vestal... Miracle healing are to scarce among us, please be patient. We will soon have a Firekeeper."She's already gone after hearing another mourning. This young girl showed more courage than most of the persons you saw in the City and left you speechless. Maybe one day she will master the flames like the priests or a miracle healing like other nuns. For the time being, you don't have anything to pay for a miracle healing unless you want to spend your gold coin but that would be overkill for just a Stage One. Here, some people are literally rotting on the ground, and they probably need it more. Thanks to your meeting with the vestal, you leave the area just a little bit confused and not traumatized. It feels like a betrayal to depart for a ceremony of the Cult of Charon right after this encounter. Switching so often between deities might not be a good idea. Plus, you are still carrying the Divine Magic candle from the Church. Now, arriving in the Cemetary, you notice people entering the Crypt. Judging by their height, they are probably Lisa's students. Do you want to abandon the candle after seeing the faith of a young vestal?>yes>no

>>4240729>>4240732>>4240755You decide to not bring a Divine Magic candle from the Church of Sol into the Temple of Charon. That is probably a wise decision since you don't know what consequences it will bring. However, abandoning the candle in the cemetery feels a little heartbreaking even if there is only place for Charon there (and also his high priestress-Witch maybe). This time, you came early and can discuss with Lisa beforehand. She sat in the first row of bench of the underground Temple, legs crossed and biting her nail, looking a bit tense to say the least."Buona sera, Alfonso." she tilts her head back hearing your loud footsteps "Did you find any clues about the suicide-bombing?""Some, but n-" you start interrupted the second after"I can't believe the Inquisition dared to enter my school! >>4242112Lisa skips her preach, without surprise she is not in the mood and start directly by reading a passage of the book. Who ever could, ev’n with unfettered words, tell fully of the blood and of the wounds which now I saw, though oft he told the tale? All tongues would certainly fall short of it, by reason of our speech and of our mind, whose means are small for taking in so much. No cask, indeed, by loss of middle-board or stave, is opened as was one I saw, split from the chin to where one breaketh wind; while down between his legs his entrails hung, his pluck appeared, and that disgusting sack, which maketh excrement of what is swallowed. While I on seeing him was all intent, he looked at me, and opening with his hands his breast, he said: "See now how I am cloven! Behold how torn apart Mahomet is! Ali in tears moves on ahead of me, cloven in his face from forelock down to chin; and all the others whom thou seest here disseminators were, when still alive, of strife and schism, and hence are cloven thus. "Death hath not reached him yet," replied my Teacher, "nor to a torment is he led by guilt, but that complete experience may be giv’n him, I, who am dead, must needs conduct him here from circle unto circle down through Hell; and this is true, as that I speak to thee.""Be safe" she ends "my students and hold down on practice for now. >>4243488Your main opponents here are the servants of the Church, of course that night in black armor and possibly the Grand Inquisitor whose throne Susanna is chained to. The mass is at dawn, noon and one hour before dusk, leaving Susanna alone in the sacristy three time per day. Since you are not a heathen, you now that each mass last one hour except the one at noon that last two hours. The knight heads to the warzone between the South and the North Slum in the afternoon, not attending the last mass. But he can't possibly miss the most important at noon, as for the one at dan you don't know. He said that as a Sol's Champion, he receives guidance from heaven to his enemies which presumably means enemies of the Inquisition. And as you experimented it, that means people with Mystical Stones or Iceburst Stones or anything that the Inquisition does not like. He is also probably preventing the battle from putting consecrated land in jeopardy, so he will surely react to a sudden advantage in the North side. The Chain of Tartarus is a miracle binding Susanna to the throne, you know of a dispel miracle from Lisa but will have to find ingredients first, or you can look for the chant in the religious book and dispel it yourself. >>4243665>>4243746Mario nods as you detail your plan. Sadly he is not very helpful with all those sneaky options you choose. Maybe a thief or someone specialized in edifice building could have helped you. You will break the Tartarus chains yourself on site, since it is the only place where religious book can be found or a vestal abducted. Then, gather potions or acquire a blessing from Lady Barielle to make you stronger or stealthier or maybe something more. Or maybe hire a street urchin to run around with your artefact, maybe the soul-linked dolls. Melie angrily throws at you "I would shake your hand as a thanks but as you can see the Elves don't like thieves either.""I'm sorry Mel..." Arthur tries to calm her"It's not your fault Arthur... What about you, signore? Getting any remorse now?""Can both just shut up" you warn them "I'm trying to break the branches."The girl acts tough, but is about to cry, the comparison with Amicia ends there. She has an old scar on her face, maybe that's why she didn't work in the Redlight District. Some are born with a silver spoon in their mouth and other with a knife under their throat. While you try with all your strength to break the branches, you think about all those potions. An unexpected nurse is feeding you with a spoon."We don't have all day, old man." Melie says "eat your veggies."Despite your recovery she still misses her hand. Focusing all the negatives thoughts you can, vengeance, greed, cowardice and maybe a little bit of curiosity, you ceremoniously pinch the doll's arm."DADDY!" a child's voice explodes inside"What is going on dear?" a female voice continues"Why is wrong daddy?" another child's voice adds to the choirIt's a total success. There is not much to say, you probably severely injured a loved father and a simple businessman with a dirty little secret. Actually you don't even know how he is related to Saten or her other clients and potentially the organ harvester. And if he was the organ harvester, since he has a family, of course he will not display his trophies anywhere."Didn't find anything..." you admit "There was a vault though.""Psssh" she brushes the difficulty in the air with her stump "my speciality, too bad I can't do any lockpicking right now."Without any further delay, you enter Don Giovanni's mansion getting the thief girl very nervous."W-We are not going to rob that, r-right?" she stuttersThe heavy door slowly opens to reveal the tall and muscular butler. He throws you the scariest stare even, making Melie hides behind you."Please don't cause any trouble in the neighbourhood Signore Barbatti." he scolds you "If you need money you can always beg Don Giovanni or find a book for him. I can't understand how you can get so low as to steal someone but not beg for money."Of course, you were found out. The villa was just in front of the mansion, but that old man has very sharp eyes. He guides you first to the upper floor at Bernardo's room. Here you find a new man, his scars healed and a convenient haircut hiding the part of his head where the hot metal rod burned him. New hair is even growing back here. And...
>>4248290"Here is your tea, master."Raphaella... She is dressed in one of those outfit she never let you see, it's a maid costume. Strange considering they seemed to share an equal relationship outside of any racial bias. "Oh no..." she fakes her surprise "I spilled some tea outside your cup. I'm sorry master.""Then, you know what that means. Bernardo gallantly takes her hand"Khyaaaaa" she just noticed youHiding her face under the plate she was carrying, she spills all the tea on Bernardo. For real this time. The alchemist laughs it off loudly, headpatting the racoon girl. He looks definitely healthier, both mentally and physically."My saviour, I presume." he asks you"It was nothing, just a dangerous infiltration in the Citadel." you boast with your hero's smile"Oh really?" he calmly speaks resting his head on his hand "Then getting the ingredients for the cure won't be a big deal for you I presume.""Yes! Finally!" You clench your fist now that your time has come. Everyone will forget about the bad reputation of the Polaris and you will finally be a real hero. Maybe you can get to the New World with this reputation and become a ruins dweller after."However" he adds "I must ask, why are you looking for a cure. Also, because we wanted to stick it to the militia.

Why the Doge imprisoned me, what I was looking for and why they don't want my cure.""Bene. I wouldn't have taken a no for an answer. You are the only one we could have rescued in time. You must succeed."You have your own ideas about all that. First you found a note about monkeys being held in the Harbor and presumed it was for testing or experimenting but did not bother to get them even after several weeks. Also, because of the organ harvester you assumed to the cure must be related to them."You were imprisoned because of your views on Demihumans." you try to peek at Raphaella, hiding behind Bernardo in her embarassing outfit "Or maybe to produce gunpowder since you are an Alchemist?""There is that of course, but most importantly they want the Philosopher Stones I was studying.""But... I thought it was about monkeys and all that thing with Demihumans being immunized? There even is a organ harvester slaughtering them for elixirs.""Nonsense. You can't make potions or elixirs like that. At first It peeked my interest when I heard he also harvested non-essential organs, but then he switched to only animal parts like horns, ears, tails, fangs...""Ah it's true, I even found a bunch of them in the sewer.""See? Why discard them if he need it for a cure. No. The truth is that Demihumans and animals are immunized against Stage One... And I plan to contaminate them with Stage Three to produce a serum, a cure to inject to patients."The revelation is quite shocking when he says it so coldly, he was supposed to like them. But most importantly"Che cazzo... I can see why it will anger the Militia... and also the Church.""I want to use the Philosopher Stone to help them go through the Stage Three necrosis. Make the disease goes dormant, activate it again, waiting until the last minute, using the Philosopher Stone again and repeat until they develop an immunity.""How cruel! Have you seen how Stage Three looks on Humans? I did." you slap your torso reminding vividly about the boy with no jaw"Don't lecture me about suffering, Alfonso!" he shouts with an equal strenghtHis experience in the Citadel made him stronger but noticing Raphaella getting scared by his voice he calms down and headpat her."Sorry I got carried away." he apologises "This is why I need the monkeys. Yes it's horrible, but we don't have much time left. I'm sorry if I don't meet your expectations Alfonso. To obtain something, something of equal value must be lost."

After that it spread to the New World where the City send them to work the plantation and then it made its way here.""Is it some kind of curse? Because we messed with the Demihumans?"Raphaella brings another cup but after looking in every corner of the room can't find any chair. Bernardo casually slaps his lap to notice to propose a seat, which makes her blush some more and hide behind a plate while seating carefully."Am I not too heavy, Bernardo?" she asks with teary eyes"You're perfect." he gallantly answersSome part of you is happy for them to taste happiness after such tragic events but you still have questions. "Ahem." you insist"Oh? A curse... While it's true that Demihumans are immunized, it does not mean they don't carry the disease. They don't show symptoms from Stage One and Two, but can carry it. Then, they contract Stage Three just like us.""And can you recover by your own?""Most people already did. They recovered from Stage One, but the disease went dormant. It's a balance between that can be easily broken by a new contamination.""I meant a total recovery.""I don't know. Nobody has survived long enough with a balance leaning to far in favour of the infection. Experiment on monkeys will provide us with such a case and from the subject blood we will create a serum to help other patients to support the disease longer before receiving a healing potion, then they will probably develop and immunity."With the Philosopher Stone!""Correct. It's on an Island, a week from here. On a secret location that I did not reveal to the Militia. And to think they want it for gold... If you ever wanted to be a ruin dweller... But you will have to bring me with you, I can't risk the Doge getting there first so I won't reveal the location to anyone.""I see... Meanwhile, can you get help from the Gallileof or Piccardi if I free them?""I... don't think so... Don't mistake me, we savants have our pride but I understand we need to work together so solve this. However, are approach are radically different. I think the Gallileof wanted to use Divine Magic or a curse and that would have implied the catacombs... Then Piccardi is just about his diving record, you will be lucky if you can snatch this miraculous algae from the deep while he plants a flag."
>>4249328You pinch your nose-bridge, trying to ignore the burlesque of Bernardo's seriousness with Raphaella on his lap. Maybe you can sum up what you heard."Bene... If I understand. I have to find the monkeys, get a ship, a crew, explores some ruins, get the Philosopher Stone, come back so you can mass produce serum from contaminated monkeys.""I will let the logistic to you and Don Giovanni of course."Standing up, you offer your chair to Raphaella and notice the butler was tending to Melie's stump. Behind his stern looking face he is a good man. But sometime, desperate times call for desperate measures."And what if the monkeys are dead?" you ask"I... I don't want to think about it."On these final words, you are conducted to Don Giovanni. Melie informs you she has an infection, anxiously looking at her stump. If you needed money you can ask."Don Giovanni saw you breaking into someone home, it was right in front of his mansion after all and there is a balcony just here."I hope your new 'friends' do not have a bad influence on you."He clearly was not thinking about Melie. Does that mean he know about the Witch? Is it even safe to talk about Lisa? She said that for everyone she is an Arcane Magic teacher during the day."I uh... I had my reasons.""I won't question them. This is how trust works, right?" he closes the child book he was reading "Then, I suppose you learned about the monkeys. Obviously I can't shelter them here, the noise will attract attention. It's not like you are smuggling sugar or scrolls out of the Harbor. Meanwhile, let's talk about the three possible cures.Initially, you choose Bernardo Pastori because I mentioned he studied mold. You thought it was the safest route. With an Alchemist I tried to give a vibe of a modern savant and a quest befitting this theme.Apparently some of you are not happy about the idea of doing modern science (setting a lab with monkeys, advertising the cure, delivering serum to the Hospital, tracking down the epicentre of the outbreak...). The milestone of this route should be getting the Philosopher Stone from ruins on an island (read 'dungeon') as explained in a race against the Doge. The other choices you ignored are Grichka&Igor Gallileof and Tornelli PIcardi da Costa. One of the twin has died and the other is being brainwashed by the Inquisition. The last savant has been 'sold' to the Dwarves. I tried to give you a sense of urgency on their liberation to emphasize the dire situation of the City (1700 dead in a week is a lot for 200k habitants according to the death records of the Renaissance). It is of course too late to fully complete this two routes but I don't want to completely shut them down. The first one is about Devine Magic and obviously Charon's one and how it can afflict the disease. I don't want to reveal too much because you still have to investigate. (I thought you would have read all the savants documents before making your choice). The second one is about a miraculous alga in the deep. They both have a 'dungeon' but you will not prepare for them like you did for getting the Philosopher Stone and mass-producing/delivering serum. I will let you imagine what visiting the deep and setting a large scale Dark Miracle imply.Sorry for the ugly spoiler in the middle of the quest, but it's the only way to catch attention even though I don't reveal anything you already know.
>>4250941Thanks for the clarification, Alde. I've been loving this quest, only thing I've really been browsing recently. I haven't lost interest, despite not being around to vote for the entirety of the sessions anymore. That drinking binge kind of ended up being a pivotal moment in my life, definitely changed things. I'll try to be around a bit more in the coming days.I'm fine with the route we've gone, and am looking forward to the dungeon. Things becoming a bit more Charon/Divine Magic centric was unforeseen, and the Gallileof seems to be a more fitting option for how Alfonso's character has been developing lately. Despite this, we're mainly locked into alchemy route now, and I feel like it was the intended route for Alfonso's character. I'm fine with how things have gone, and will try to see this quest through 'til the end.

>>4251740>>4251794You depart for the bridge, early in the morning to avoid Franz and the rush hour. Passing by the burned tree cages, you notice new one being summoned from the ground under the pavement by Elves. "Spirit of Nature, make a prison for my enemies." the captain of the commando chants "I don't get it. Why can't we just cut their hands?" he then asks his subordinate"Because of the paper work captain. We are only allowed to contain the plague here, not enforce law... even if these barbarians deserve a fate worse than being burned alive.""There's nothing worse than being burned alive..." It was unexpected, but maybe you didn't give enough attention to the Elves. The captain indeed ordered to shot infected with fire arrow but not before graciously ending their lives with normal arrows. As for the smuggler from the Harbor, their small boats burned but the occupants probably escaped by swimming. He might be violent and crazy to the point of kicking a child in the head, you never saw him kill anyone. Is this convoluted process to kill non-infected coming from the twisted mind of his subordinate? Maybe a crazy Elf is better than an Elf killing innocent in cold blood. After crossing the bridge you are in the Craftsmen District at 8AM, the youngest Gnome is missing at the counter so you have to call him."Bongiorno, is anyone here?" you yellHe comes rushing down the stairs, the funniest thing you ever saw since they are too high for him he has to jump every time. Okay, a lot has been going on, I've missed a few things. Regarding the spoiler text here>>4250941I'm happy with the way the quest has been going and am fine with using Bernando's cure, but just as this anon says>>4251274 I also feel that we haven't really had enough time to do things, with several extremely urgent things to do all at once. We're currently dealing with >Saving Susanna>Finding Luigi and rescuing Valentina>Dealing with the Organ Harvester>Finding a cureAnd that's without grabbing resources and getting gear for our day to day survival, plus dealing with the elves and the militia. It's just too... chaotic. We can't blindly rush into things but then we don't actually have enough time to pursue our goals. Other than that, I'm loving the quest.

>>4251860Going with this for buying stuff, though I would like to keep the book. Could we maybe talk about a partnership or something? Please let him come home. He's an idiot. He's too kind, he will die serving at the Gate.""Hey isn't that the Alchemist's father?" a Militiaman asks his colleague"I thought it was the son.
