Welcome to Cultural Civ, a civ game heavily inspired by the brillant >>29797 !Up to three players at a time will control a tribe through the years and decide its movements, cultural and technological advancements, and diplomacy.Three tribes just landed on this island, escaping a dire place on shoddy rafts. They will first have to explore, and eventually find somewhere to settle. I will post the culture pics of the tribes and explain the rules in more detail (though it's pretty similiar to cultural evo quest).
>>40371oh yeah, also claim your tribe! Three slots free in each! The blue tribe's social life revolves around the sun. They are good with basic hut architecture, but they're a lot better at parties. They know how to make fire, pointy sticks, and spearfishing.
>>40390Can we also rename the tribe?
>>40382>>40384might be a good idea to put it in the namefield for easier readability, like "sun tribe earmaster">>40394yes>>40390the green tribe is heavy built. They come from a faraway land. The woods are the realm of the spirits, and nothing should be taken from it without giving back in rites or sacrifices. The women are generally disregarded in everyday life and live amongst themselves.
>>40409I claim the Sun Tribe of France
>>40409the red tribe knows agriculture, and feeds mostly on parsnip. They also grow linen for their clothes. They don't know how to hunt or the proper berries to eat. They give part of their harvest to the priests, who burn them to the gods for luck in the next one.
>>40416Claiming Bowtie Tribe
>>40421Oh you claimed it 45 seconds earlier than I did. Changing name
>>40409Claimed the green tribe! (Galia)
>>40416Is it party throwing time now, because it's toally party throwing time now
yo, one ppl one tribe?
each turn, you can do one action, one cultural evolution, or one technology advance.Action means attacking, moving, diplomacy, copulating, etc.A cultural evolution changes a trait of the tribe and adds on it. ex: Bowties are a symbol of wealth into Bowties are a symbol of wisdomTechnology is pretty self-explanatory.>>40415 not like that though>>40421only in case of intense drought would they go that far
>>40427Nice nameWe're the Bowtie Tribe now
>>40438I choose to party
>>40437Three per tribe
>>40444WitnessedAlso let's make the bowtie a symbol of strength since we dont have any shekels yet. Only the leader is allowed to wear a proper bowtie. The others get some lousy red string to tie around their dick or something.
alright! first, the tribes should decide wether to stay, or move somewhere else for their settlement, or choose to be nomads and scout around. There might be locals on this island. Who knows?
>>40453>northa heavily forested area.>eastgrassy hills.>southsparse pine forests.>southwestashlands.>middlevolcano.
>>40452Sure. >>40453Let's stay where we are for now
>>40453We move a tiny bit west. A great 700 year old tree stands tall there.
>>40456may i join u?
>>40474Yes, let us form the Asshole tribe of Sun whorshipping assholes
Joining Sun. When do we start?
>>40453Bowtie tribe shall dominate all others>>40464
>>40466any more west and you're in water>>40456the sun tribe decides to settle where they landed, on the large sand beach of the island. They build their huts with driftwood and live on fish and shells.
Have to leave, probably be back in 2 hours. Scribe is in command now.
>>40490Just a little southwest? This tree is really really important.
>>40490Let's gather some fish
Back sooner than expected.I say we gather plants to make bowties
>>40490the Tie village found a nice, flat place between the hills and the sea where they could start farming. They built shoddy earthen houses and a shrine.(You can start preparing what you will do next turn while I'm making the villages by the way, culture, action or tech, + tribe bonus)
>>40490While the tribe's moving, I guess we'll worship a few trees along the way.
>>40517We'll research making the best clothes from plants we can for trading
>>40505fishing yes, and we learn how to make dried fish for long term storage
>>40537Thanks to the sun, of course. Because the sun is the best thing ever.
>>40530What about ties of friendship? I say differently coloured ties will represent different things
>>40517the Tree tribe saw a huge cedar tribe poking from the forest from where they landed, and they decided fate wanted them to settle there. They leaned their bark and twig shacks against its mighty trunk, putting the women's shack on a lowlier tree. They eat nuts and berries they gather, but underfeed themselves in fear of angering the spirits. Alright! I think we're finally ready for turn one. Did all tribe decide their actions?
>>40560We learn to make dried fish from the sun and it's awesome drying powers
>>40560Culture:>Trees are sacred, those who cut them down without a good reason must die.Action:>Make a few houses in the trees for the tribesmen to sleep.
>>40566Yeah this. Also do we get Mexican tan skin from our Sun exposure?
>>40560Culture : Bowties represent physical strength, and only the leader is allowed to wear a proper bowtie. Everyone else gets a string to tie around their necksAction : Farm for textiles and food, make bowties and clothing of different colours from textiles
>>40566i think it should go like thisAction1: fishing (with net if possible)Action 2: drying fish storage learnedno culture
>>40599Let's make different color ties for different rankings
>>40613Yeah, like a ranking system. Reds for chiefs, orange for something else, yellow, etc etc. A rainbow of colours.
>>40566the Sun tribe learns to dry the fishes with the SunL. Yet another blessing of the great shining one! They also fished a lot, and made many parties where they ate and had a lot of fun. Their population increased by two this year!Though they managed fine with food, their lack of clothing caused a lot of trouble during winter. Thankfully, they had enough food and good enough huts to have no need to leave their homes into the cold, but some didn't survive through it.
>>40682The tree tribe attempts to build the shacks into trees. The tree tribe elders absolutely forbid the shack makers to cut trees, which would be a sin worthy of death.Unfortunately, their ignorance of architecture, lack of tools, and poor materials failed them! they couldn't manage to build in the trees, but the idea to do so still remains.Since they ate very little, their population didn't grow this year.
>>40682Praise the sun
>>40702culture is hard to think and for the sake for balance, we should do 2 traits next turn? right OP?
>>40707Because who needs culture when you have the sun
Is it too late to get in on this? I can join tree tribe since there doesn't seem to be many people there
>>40695The tie tribe has a new chieftess, who introduced new rules: since their wealth was lost, their ties would represent their social status, and only her would wear the red. Thus, the tribe members scouted for items to do tinctures with, and found precious purple shells, colored flowers, and oily grasses to color their clothes. They had no particular trouble this year and had 1 birth. turn 2 start! there will be a global event at the beginning of turn 3!
>>40714Sure, the tree tribe welcomes you.
>>40714yes, anyone can hop in and out anytime as long as there's a free spot!
>>40716Let's get some clothing to cover our naked bodies, to not offend the sun too much. But it has to be full of images of the sun
>>40712culture is what define us>and leave permanent on those tribe chart
>>40724>>40723Awesome!I think for a cultural trait we should expand on the male/female caste system, maybe women are female possesion idea, like more daughters /wives are a sign of power? Kinda like currency yknow?
>>40732Of course, the sun wouldn't want vaguely defined tribesment worshipping it
>>40716Attribute : The gods' favors can be brought with sacrifices of the village assholes when neededAction : Expand towards the bulky goyim
>>40736Those with the most wives are rich but remember these people are pretty strong, the strongest are probably the most powerful.
>>40743Or those who have proven themselves worthy in battle.
here are the magic schools and their levels. Next to each level is a colored dot for each tribe that learned said magic. It's still empty, but you'll be able to discover new ways of magic in the future. also, the sun tribe has shamans that can use level one spirit magic.
>>40741Should we? I think we should keep to ourselves for now
>>40741you can't do both a culture trait and an action: the tie tribe has one action of any type, and one tech action.
>>40760 Sun Shamans are required to sunbathe 5 hours everyday to show their devotion to the sun.In the nude.
>>40743How about the wives only role is to serve the husbands? Its like how in Sparta the men are only tasked with warfare while the women and slaves took care of everything to maintain the men's lives.
>>40762We're not going to be going to them directly. We're only after resources
>>40765Sure, so that's a culture thing, probably want an action now. We might need to train our tribesmen up for fights in the future. Or get some resources.
>>40770Well if we can't cut down trees, we need to focus on another material for weapons. Bones maybe? Try hunting?
>>40776Need to get our hands on some of that sweet, sweet earth magic too at some point.
>>40760Can we discover fire to make our bowties more magical?
>>40778True, we'll see how OP develops it I guess.
>>40780you can't quite "discover" fire. But you can scout the island, who knows what you'll find? Don't ask me, I'll use a dice
tribe recap for turn 2, reply to this post!
>>40716Right, we'll do this:Culture:>Women are form of currency and their role is serve their tribesmen.Action:>We'll get 3 of our fastest men to scout in the vicinity and their wives will help gather resources behind them.>>40785You can change if you don't agree.
>>40798We make clothes and have Shamans sunbathe in the nude everyday to show their sun devotion
>>40787Attribute : The gods' favors can be brought with sacrifices of the village assholes when neededAction : Scout out the bulky goyim for resources
>>40799SOunds good for action, next turn maybe get the men to try and hunt for animals to domesticate?
>>40798Oops wrong quote>>40807
>>40801can the Shaman be nudist and blinded due to induced cataract from prolonged UV exposure from sunlight but this heighten their spiritual sense?
>>40798>>40799Oops>>40811I was thinking that :3
>>40817Yes, that too. Shamans are all blind due to being enlightened by the sun and are all nude to maximize their sun exposure and devotion to the great shining one

>>40832Oooohhhh, creepy question marks. Whatever could they mean?
turn 2 endin these trying times, starving old men and fathers of large families separate themselves from their women for a month worth of nuts. It has started to get more common and accepted in the village.A scout party was sent deeper into the forest to forage, and they found many berries. However, a tree spirit stopped them, teaching them they were poisonous! The tree spirit, moved by the poor state of the scouts, decided to teach them how to make bows, and what game they were allowed to hunt.they now eat squirrels and hares raw. Their situation got a little better, and their population increased by one.
>>40871Sweet, we got clothes
>>40871not this hate shit again, can we at least try to be neutral at this thread as the other is warring as ultimatum?>>40874thx the bowtie
>>40874>>40876I'm off to sleep now. Expect more meme warfare tomorrow, you degenerates.
>>40878Chill out brah and bask in the shining one's bountiful rays
>>40856the blue tribe decided to focus on clothes for the winter. They found that the Sun could dry kelp too, and if dried for long enough, it could be woven into hard, unwieldy clothes, but clothes nonetheless. they also use kelp to strenghten their shacks. The shamans have begun harsher practices to communiate with the Sun, making their spirits harder, and more prone to magical learning! They could probably improve their magic if they tried.
>>40885Sweet, thanks Sun.

>>40917Probably some sort of textile magic, best not ask.
>>40902Hey you can probably join any of us, I doubt we're full and someone left bowtie tribe
>>40902>>40934Yes, join us. We need people>>40917>>40919We can make fabric from plants
>>40948I'm in, cheif.
>>40913A male tribesman was criticizing the way the chief was handling things, but was too cowardly to risk being put to shame in a fight by a woman. He didn't stop nagging her, though, so after council with the priests, they agreed that assholes and cowards were a free sacrifice to the gods.they went scouting north, but never crossed anyone. They found a clay-rich area, though, and started digging a pit.time for the global event!
>>40955wait a second, why Sun ppl no scout roll?
>>40955PREPARE YOUR ASS
>>40955Clinging to the great cedar tree for dear life.
>>40962Probably because it wasn't one of our actions. We should do that later
>>40955The males are being problematic. I say we sacrifice them to the gods and leave only a few locked up for procreation.
Gonna be away for about 10 minutes, gotta eat
>>41025I have many issues
>>40955Event: First ContactMany strange creatures have been sighted all around the island! The tree tribe already had the chance to meet the tree spirits and abide to their rules. So when they came, they were pleased to find the tribe people where revering them. As a reward they promised to teach them the basics of Earth magic; but no one in the tribe had enough strength of mind.At sunset, fish people attacked late kelp gatherers of the sun tribe with tridents! two men were killed. The tie tribe people woke up to find their granaries halved of their contents! They could catch a glimpse of small rodent-like people scurrying away with little bags. a village idiot was sacrified in hope of a bountiful harvest to make up for it.
>>41027Our action should be learning archery with our bows to be tree archers
>>41035Darn, what can Spirit magic do? Maybe it can help us to deal with these fishmen
turn 3 start!note: a magical action can't be paid with cultural or tech actions.are you guys liking it so far? cause I sure am.
>>41043Yes I rike it.And again, what can level one spirit magic do?
>>41043Yeah I like it
>>41040Make it a spiritual art, being one with the bow. That'll get us some spirit points.>>41043This is going well, is good.
>>41035I like it>>41060So it's obvious the evil spirits did it, right?
>>41054Oh right, I am illiterate, use spirit scouts to..scout. While having a party to lift spirits because that totally counts as culture.
>>41064I still don't get it
>>41079I guess he's referring to his problematic-ness, or the rat creatures
>>41079Was joking about the tribe becoming a femnazi utopia in this: >>41033Was talking about the event in this: >>41064We got a village to run.
>>41062>>41040We need to start domesticating animals though, what can we find in a forest? Deer? Boars? Bears? Bears would be cool af.
>>41092Ok then. On second thought, let's not kill the men, just enslave them. They will become sacrifices if necessary, assholes first.
okay I'm gonna stop for a little while. Take your time to think about what to do!
>>41107I can work with this.Do we have anything we really need to discover right now?>>41100Pigs are forest creatures.
>>41116Staring at the sun sounds good
>>41100Well we have no idea whats in the forest. I think boars or deer would be nice, something thats easy to maintain and won't kill us.Also I think for archery and magic maybe we should separate the two? Like, men are warriors, but theres magic warriors and archer warriors.
>>41134OK, we'll go for deer, they're fast. We currently have no magic so probably best to start with getting it before categorising it.
>>41107>mfw sacrificing men>mfw want to enslave them>mfw rats stole their foodIs there any man more of a cuck than a Bowtie man?
>>41165Nope!And don't you forget it.
>>41120I think not. Let's just put slaves to explore for resources or build bowtie temples or whatever. Also let's change bowtie policy: only women can wear bowties. Men will have that red string on the dick the Scribe suggested.
Man you guys are weird, why can't you be well-adjusted normal people like us and stare at the sun all day
>>41172>mfw she-property addresses me without permission
>>41179Too busy fighting the evil patriarchy.
>>41183They're on some other part of the island that doesn't concern us right now, we can crush them into oblivion and put them in their place at a later date.
>>41172>Slaves>ExploringYou can't make slaves do non-labor.They'll just run away if you LITERALLY TELL THEM to walk far off from the home.If we want this weird amazon fetishist society to work we have to put a lot of focus on aggression and beating the shit out of people.I vote we put a culture focus on something that will increase population-Breeding Rights-Reproductive Classes-etc.And we put our action to something useful.-Build a Fight Pit-Build a Wall-Establish a guard class-etc.
>>41179>mfw blind sun-nigger willingly wearing seaweed lectures me on being normal
>>41197woah, one thing at a time, you can't make all these cultural changes happen at once. Better start with the essentials
>>41202>he doesn't know normalcy doesn't actually exist and nothing actually matters anyway because we're all gonna die
>>41202You wanna state what we're doing?
>>41205They're just suggestions and goals. Not like we can do them all at once.
>>41197Oh, you're right. But as >>41205 says, one step at a time.
>>41215Well if we wanna start I say we get the guards going because organized guard-ship is something that will be massively important for any sort of civilization.I say in retaliation to the rodents stealing our food we just make a routine of someone always needing to watch the food storage by order of the chief.
>>41043>ActionTry and find deer or similar animals to domesticate. Only men are sent.>CultureBoys are brought up learning archery and finding a spiritual connection with the forest spirits. The goal is for the generation to grow up as spirit minded warriors>>41211This sound good?
>>41231Sounds great.I ain't in your tribe though
I wake up to find that our Chieftess is some feminist and all the myn has been enslaved. Jesus christ. Back to sleep
>>41165 my bad>>41243>>41231
>>41238Don't worry.It's fantasy.
>>41249We'll crush them when the time comes, dw. Also, sounds great.
>>41257Next round, we need to make the women more useful. Probably should start thinking about that.
>>41215Ey Chief>ActionPut someone on guard of the food stocks>CultureOnly women can challenge the chief for the chief position. That sound good?
>>41265Women farmers and ranchers?
The Action is good, but Culture is already a given. I mean, they're slaves. Let's waste that on something else.
>>41297But we haven't even culturally established that they're slaves yet.We can't just suddenly enslave a whole gender, you have to build a glass ceiling first.
>>41279Sure, male warriors, female workers.Kind of need to sort out our technology though. Should we do the workers first and then advance our technological knowledge or get some cool stuff then give the females jobs?
>>41311Ah, we didn't. Forgot that. But aren't we a small tribe? The chieftess is the best fighter in the tribe, she can handle any men who challenges her.
>>41321What kind of technology do we want? We have bows, and we can't cut down trees because heresy, should we focus of agriculture or clothing more?
>>41339Could invest some nice armour. Keeps the blood off our skin while keeping our own blood inside as much as possible.
>>41329Well if we didn't want to become a man enslaving race then we should still focus on being militaristic since we were lucky to not get anyone killed by the event beasts this time around. I say we just make all the best fighters in the clan into guards.
>>41357We need to invest in magics or ranged weaponry from my pov. That or get some mode of transportation
>>41370Sorry, posted on 3G
>>41370>>41374Why would we ever need a better mode of transportation at this point? Also we don't need range yet so long as we have good warriors.
>>41357What would be the feasibility of enslaving the men while retaining their affection, so they would fight for us?Breaking their minds through sex or something
>>41391Stuff like that can only come after a few generations of slavery. Making yourself more of a sex object will likely only reinforce patriarchy unless we make it to where only the strongest warrior can be the chief's mate, which will either incite more women into power, or make some men real gay.
>>41385We can get ships full of archers ready to rain steel on someone or just to trade with the other tribes
>>41410I too think we don't need that.
>>41410We barely know how to smelt metal let alone steel, and the only enemy we face in the water could possibly be Blues. Not to mention trading with The Tree People will be hard because our gender values are switched. if we were blue I'd be for it, but we're like, an inland farming society.
>>41416What are we really focusing on rn? Enslavement or military expansionism?
When will OP be back?
>>41421Wait, no, we're all coastal nevermind.>>41423I vote:>ActionMake Guards to look over the food stores>CultureAll the strongest warriors must be guards. We'll make these guys into knights eventually.
>>41408Ok, scratch that. Let's do it like we were before: we enslave the men as fast as possible (let's ask OP about how big the tribe is when he's back). We start training female warriors. We put someone to watch the food.

alright, I'm back! post your recaps!

Turn 2 end!the sun tribe found some rocks that make a nice, sun-like color when crushed, and use it in celebrations to paint suns on their faces. The shamans decided to keep it on most of the time. The strategos ordered a scouting of the area, but the shamans found nothing but sand and rocks in the designed area. At least they felt commanding the spirits was easier than usual!
>>42018wait no! that was turn 3 end!the tree tribe considers archery an important art not to take lightly. They teach it to their young, along with the respect of the forest and its laws. The concentration and effort that goes into archery hones the mind of the practitioners, and a few are attuned enough to learn first-level earth magic! now to wait for the next spirit encounter...The Tree tribe now has access to a military unit: Archer. any number of males may be drafted as an archer at any time, but a standing military is times more efficient.also they tried to capture an animal, but weren't fast enough to catch any. They might need to invent tools to do so.
>>42018Looks like he had a golden shower.
>>41973To get those big animals, think we could invent a pitfall trap?
>>42073The tie tribe had a rough winter, and feels bitterly against the little thiefs. They set up a Guard, made of the strongest fighters (next to the chief). Some people got disfigured during the institutional melee. Those fighters wear purple ties and have a high standing in society, the same as priest. They can also be dueled for their position by anyone else. The guards have spotted the little rat people from afar, but they haven't dared coming closer.also, all tribes agreed that the Volcano should be a neutral ground, but since it has been scouted by no one, no celebration can take place there yet.
>>42099I think we should run them down. I mean we're super stronk and tools take time. Anyways, outrunning prey helps our fitness too.
>>42126forgot to add:while they don't have access to a military unit yet, the Tie Tribe is taking its first steps towards Discipline, which unlocks advanced military units!turn 4 start!
>>42130Let's keep fit and chase them, but we need a way to catch them alive for domesticating.
>>42144Since we're all half naked and full naked dudes who can barely fight against fishmen, let's have the shamans commune with the sun to see if they can unlock any new wisdom.Or just gather food and have more parties like we always doWhile staring at the sun
>>42156Alright, we can do that for an action. What about for culture/tech?
>>42144Is there a global event every 3 turns or is it just whenever?>>42190We've got some ranged weapons, that's good but in close combat, we are screwed. Maybe have sharpened bow edges or your idea of bone weapons.

>>42257Let's further this Guard Class. We had a pretty bad winter, and it'll be better if we try and keep that from happening again.>CultureI say Bow Tribe will set some guards to protect the fields as well, and the farmers there shall be managed by the guards while The Chief is busy training hard with their other guards for the safety of the clan.>ActionLet's send some guards out to follow these rat people groups. They shall bother our lands no more.
>>42280you can't have culture and action at the same time. you have a bonus technology action. I also keep forgetting that you can't.but you can't!
>>42306'Kay, then let's have the same culture action, but let's dump some technology studies in trying to get a better system of written communication. We'll have the chief dictate what certain symbols mean in our cave drawings and tell everyone that they can't mean anything else. It'll be finite.
>>42257I'll join the sun tribe, sure.We need more of that magic yo.
>>42365Ah great, here is you complementary non-clothing
anyone need another member
>>42396Sun Tribe needs 1 more I think.
>>42396>>42410Indeed, join us. We have dried fish and sunbathing
>>42439I live to prasie
turn 4 end!The shamans scried the rays of the sun for answers, and it bestowed a new power upon them! The shamans now know tier 2 spirit magic: Warding Totems! Spirits are trapped into totems, set to attack anyone unallowed within their warding range. They set up powerful totems along the coastline to dissuade any frontal assault from the fishes. Though the power was a lot more magically challenging, the shamans don't strain themselves too much making totems. They have a high potential! After they were shown the totems doing their job, the tribe had a great feast to celebrate! there were 6 new births this year!
>>42499Praise the sun
>>42499The tie tribe guards started training together in their spare time to keep their positions. This training drill helps them getting stronger and more resilient, and is the basis of a standing army regimen. They also started ordering the farmers around in the Chief's name, who approves the initiative. Tensions are slowly rising between the social groups, but the dueling law dismisses complainers as cowards - and cowards as sacrifice. The priests started painting the walls of houses and the altar with pigments to enforce the law of the gods and the Chieftess.
>>42546Did you want it in neat?Action:>>42156Tech:>Install sharpened bones from hunted animals on bows for melee attacks.
YOU'RE NOT RICHARD
>>42558Do pitfall traps for big beasties.
>>42558We havent hunted any animals have we?
>>42579Berry Pickers forever, Anon.
>>42579Yeah we have, rabbits and squirrels. We can upgrade later when we catch the massive bears and stuff.
>>42596Lol brittle squirrel spearsGood plan though, I'll take it
>>42546the Tree tribe keeps chasing animals for sport, but even with your above average human muscles, none of the runners manages to catch anything. However, they manage to corner them into pitfall traps they set up in advance! Some animals broke a bone and died into these traps, but you managed to catch a few!...But with no idea how to make a proper pen, you couldn't manage to keep them around long enough to tame them and they left. The elders are worried about the dead animals and what to do with them. They decided to bury them so the spirits wouldn't find out.
turn 5 start!>>42570I indeed am not
>>42635When in doubt, bury them so the spirits will never know.
I kinda want to see what blood magic can do. Maybe eventually we'll be able to control people or something, that'd be cool.
new magic chart woo
>>42646Let us develop cutting edge Sun technology. Tie our sun pain rocks to our fishing sticks and make shaman staves>>42671Also have the shamans look more into magic, consult the infinite and bountiful wisdom of the sun.
>>42673I WANT EARTH MAGICS.
>>42646>TechnologyNow we must start crafting better weapons if we are ever to hunt this rat menace. We have sharp rocks for cutting grain stalks, but as we've found out through our training, getting near the enemy is always a danger! We need distance. We need spears! Or Macuahuitls, those things are wicked.>ActionOkay, now we go out in search of rat people. This time they will bother us no longer!
>>42688Right we're making pens for forest animals, domesticating them and using their resources for leather armour or other cool stuff. We can't keep failing to do things right year after year.
oh, right.next turn, a global event will happen!
>>42747BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES
I vote we try to appease to the nature spirits. Our trained husky archers are tasked with hunting deer with their bows. For culture, those most attuned with earth magic are eligible for council leadership.
>>42741Oh fuck that's good
>>42747>>42771Let's do that.
>>42705since you're the only tie member currently here, I'll count this as finalScouting: Vermin Barrens1-10: critical failure!11-30: failure31-60: minor success61-80: success80-100: major success
I vote we research blood magiks.
Rolled 2 (1d100)>>42819
Rolled 14 (1d100)>>42819
>>42840hahahahahah oh shit
>>42826I dont think we cant research specific types of magic, just look for wisdom randomly and hope something comes out
>>42678sounds good but should we some some soldiers at some point or guards
>>42741that is awsome
>>42852At this moment we are a tribe relying entirely on magic to defend ourselves. So yes, looking into having some atual soldiers or at least people who know what end of the pointy fishing stick to stick into people would be a good idea
>>42882>mfw sun magix help to fight fishy ppl
are all tribes done with their turn?
So , two other men who are also in the tribe who i assume are also naked. Do you think we should keep pursuing magics or should we finally make some warriors?
>>42948Yes, we'll research blood magic.
>>42987Just make sure the sun still touches your naked body.
>>42987culturally get into fighting at early ages and pursue cutting ourselves for magic?
>>42987We have spirit traps to protect us. I say we go full on magic.
>>43005Well it's making warriors while possibly leading into blood magic >>43007And shamans may strain themselves too much with higher level spells, we possibly need to have a backup
>>42955Next turn let's focus more on that earth magic.
turn 5 end! (you still got some time to debate sun tribe, I'm just starting with the other two)The tribe decided to appease the spirits, and hunt for deers. But it angered them! They jumped in between the hunters and their preys, screaming outrage and disobedience. They said the deers are not allowed to take or hunt, and that they sould forget it or face their wrath. The hunters agreed and ran home scared shitless and guilty. The elder council being a bit too senile nowadays, a new council of master bowmen with sharp senses took their place.
is there any open slots for a new player?
can i join?
Room for 2 more in Bowtie Tribe.
>>43119Ok then ill join your group
>>43097Ok, so no deer as an option at all. Lol, our best bet for meat is to trade with other tribes. Sun tribe wanna trade fish for some bows perhaps?
>>43097We're gonna spend some time researching blood magic.
>>43152Eyy, Guard BroWe just failed critically on a scouting mission, prepare for blood.
>>42570fuck you mang he's cool
>>43154Let's see, what do the other guys think? I mean we can't even use bows yet but maybe we can use them as shitty violins in our parties or something.
>>43097The Tie Tribe guard caste remembered throwing rocks at the fleeing vermin, and decided they needed versatile weapons, instead of their torches and clubs. They crafted stone spears, and started training their throwing. An expedition was sent to scout the vermins' home location. They got lucky and found it, following a slow one. The critters were acting cowardly all the way to their warrens, fleeing the scouts from sight.Unfortunately, this behavior made the squad overconfident, and they decided to go smoke the warrens out. That's when dozens of the little rats popped out, and tore them apart! Only one was able to come back, injured, to tell the story.the people start doubting the guards' effectiveness.
>>43165should we also tell people fighting in the presence of the sun pleases it so we can eventually get to fighting pits and have a plentiful source or blood?
>>43186so should we research fire magic this turn or should we try tame the vermin?
>>43191Pits mean darkness and darkness is bad. We should fight on the sand, out in the scorching sun to please the great shining one
>>43191Yeah sure, we have a high enough population anyway.
>>43186Oy Vey.>>43220We gotta kill these Vermin. This war will not end with a Bowtie loss! We just need to get better at killing things.
Enchantment magic for bow ties when?Research death magic to go in hand with the sacrifices, have it so that after a sacrifice a bow tie is placed on the ash's
>>43249so fire magic or like flaming spears or something?
>>43222oh of course
>>43268Fire magic would be good, if rats live in a Warren then burning them out would be a good choice. Let's use our research point on Fire magic.>>43260Let' put death on the back burner. We can have our sacrifices burned alive.
>>43268Bowtie enchantment magic man>>43260Its the only way
>>43302Well actually death might be better. And cooler.
>>43302i think i have to go with the chief on that one also change you username to signify that you are in our group.
>>43327But fire is more useful, certainly fire this time around. We still have a culture/action point though to use.We need something that does either A. Helps us kill ratsB. Makes the public like the Guard Lords better
>>43328I think your max tribe size so i cant change my name to join.So i'll just spitball the occasional idea or two for now
>>43186The sun tribe shamans try to learn blood magic by adding some blood to their communion. But the Sun dries the blood up quickly. It seems blood magic isn't compatible with the Sun's powers.During the celebrations, men now partake in naked wrestling contests when the sun is at its zenith, effectively making them stronger and a bit more used to fighting.now is time for the global event!
>>43350i think we need to make the public like the lords better or we may get a uprising
>>43370Tree tribe still needs one if you want!
>>43382Welp, Blood Magic's a bust. Let us utilize Wrestling magic instead.
>>43370>>43394Always room for one more unless there's three of us in which case, not really.
>>43383Got it.What if we instated cultural holidays and celebrations before and after harvest season?
>>43507yeah that may work or maybe some propaganda on how "the vermin scum" is the route of the peoples problems
>>43532We'll kill actual rodents by the load and memorialize the ones lost in the warren assault as war heroes.
>>43569yeah that sound great thats our culture point then
>>43591Now we wait for the global event and see if it changes our minds about a few things.
Rolled 39, 91, 41 = 171 (3d100)>>43382the event is: Astral Turbulences!the Astral plane is rumbling through all attuned characters on the island! (a) character dies!11-70: compatible magic +1!71-85: exotic magic+1!85-90: incompatible magic +1!90-99: any magic +1!100: all magic schools +1!!
>>43620Does this mean our tribe and the Treedudes get another magic level and the bowties can choose any school?
>>43620what is exotic magic?
>>43620Sun tribe spirit magic +1!Tree tribe eart magic +1!Congratulations Bow Tribe, choose the magic path you want the chieftess to learn! The tribe's default affinity is Fire, and Spirit is incompatible.
>>43661Sweet, we can jump right into fire then. >>43591What're we gonna do about our research point now, Guard Bro?
>>43661so still fire then?
>>43661Woo earth magic, what spell?
>>43652a possible, yet harder to learn magic school. anything that is neither Compatible nor Incompatible.
>>43684upgrade our spears?
>>43712I'd say go for something either exotic or incompatible, dont waste the high roll when the others got their compatible magic in a turn
>>43747Anon might be right.>>43740How about we have out chief have an affinity to death magic but we research fire magic this turn?
>>43766yeah that sounds good! Onto the next turn
>>43766>death magicDear forest spirits...
>>43797To kill list:VerminTree People?
>>43620Op Im loving the drawings!
>>43797We need to sort out our magic. Plant a new tree every weekend?

Op, do you have a Art Blog or something?
>>43820I wanna see our spells first
>>43890>>43722Updated Spell List?
And so the exotic death magic it is!here are the results!possess: a spirit bound by the caster possesses someone else, for as long as the caster can stay focused. Easier on animals.sap life: the caster can sap life force and vitality from a touch. Works on plant and animals. Can sate the hunger of the caster.accelerated growth: can make a sapling grow faster, or make berries mature in a bush. It still drains the soil, and extensive use can kill the plant.Note that the Chieftess, though the most prone to magic, is still a poor magical user and will struggle with the level one spell. The shamans finally reached their potential, and cannot go further down this path of magic without honing their mind even harder.turn 6 start!
>>43913You only gotta suck the soul outta a few to make sure everyone knows you can!
>>43913so i think we shroud carry on focusing on fire magic
>>43913Then let's develop that magical rock+stick= magic staff techonology. Also since we have wrestling to train our tribesmen, should we have a champ? Guys?
>>43913>>43890Up for planting trees every weekend to make spirits happy? Using accelerated growth a few times a week shouldn't be extensive use right?
>>43943Yeah, it's be better for us.
...and I'm going to bed ladsI'll be continuing same time tomorrow, I'm having a blast! follow me on twitter for yadda yadda @Opee_adventures>>43869http://hilliean.tumblr.com/

>>49511Ey ShamanHow's the pines this morning?
>>40856>>44039I read thread over again, so we're allowed hares and squirrels,so heres the plan:1. Hunters hunt small game2. Trade bows for fire knowledge3. Women plant tree to make up for fire
>>49522Got a few pine cones that fell on my head in the night but apart from that, it's pretty good>>49524I think fire magic might be incompatible with us.
>>49532They didn't kill you.Must be a good omen.
>>49538I don't think that the spirits aren't too angry with me, I hope I can still make it up to them.
>>49538No, the sun tribe knows how to make fire. Im talking about fire as a tech, not a magic. We can do that later anyways>actionSend archers to hunt squirrels and hares> cultureWomen mist plant trees for husbands and fathers good fortune.
>>49541Maybe the spirits never found out. I'd be extra weary for a while if I were you.
>>49544Let's do that. Make the spirits happy.
Also, Opee inspired me to create my own culture evo game, will unveil this weekend. :D
>>49555Can't wait to see it!
>>49551We'll be fine :3>>49555I'd love to see it!
>>49552On second thought, does our tribe know how to plant trees?
>>49353NoiceOP, making best drawings in /qst/
>>49635It would be a bit silly if the tree tribe didn't know how to plant trees. I think that it's a given.
>>49653I suppose so but stil, if we havent learned agriculture, how do we have knowledge to plant saplings?
>>49663How do we gain that knowledge? Shaman has a vision sent from the tree spirits and tells the tribe exactly how it's done?
Any idea when we're gonna play today?
>>49688When Opee gives us next post? Should make our decisions before Opee gets back, quicker that way.
>>49695Bowtribe did ours last night>EventChieftess learns death magic.>ReaserchTribe researches into fire magic>CultureTribe makes holidays during the beginning and end of harvest season to make the common farmers happier.
>>49688Still need a sun tribe, I'd say within the hour. >>49672Idk if Opee will let us say a shaman had a vision. Maybe build protected shrines around trees?
woa lot of people around already>>49688I was aiming for the same time, so in like half an hour
>>49707I'd like to get up in the trees, gives us an advantage against anything on the ground plus we have bows.
>>49707But it didn't turn out too well last time.
>>49725Invent rope or something so you can build in trees. Without the presence of nails actually creating structures in trees is really hard. That's why the best humanity ever had for a long time was teepees and mud huts.
>>49727Ooh, how about culture: cutting trees ok but only if we perform ritual/sacrifice to make up for it
>>49741Ritual to spirits sounds nice, like some sort of spoken word and/or sign of gratitude. Prefer not to sacrifice.
>>49745Yeah good point. What kind of ritual you think?
>>49734It's probably a bad idea to go in trees for now.>>49753Remember in Avatar (blue people one) she kills those dog things to save the main character and says some sort of prayer after to each one.
lurker here, any team need another member?
>>49772I think Sun Bros only got one guy right now.
Yeah can I get in on this?
>>49784Join the SunBros TM
>>49784Can join us if you want.
>>49785Ill join the SunBros thanks
>>49769Ok, in the context of our culture sheet, cutting trees without completing a forgiveness ritual (song from tribe leaders) is punishable by death
>>49787Tripfag upAlso anyone who can make memes of us are welcome to join us :D
>>49793That makes sense culture-wise
>>49793Not singing this song shows ultimate disrespect to the spirits, therefore you are killed as an offering to the spirits and only then will they forgive you.
>>49801I promise I will make many memes once I get to a computer
>>49812Then you are welcome to join! (Danker the better)
>>40716>The chief is the best fist fighter of any gender>The tie tribe has a new chieftesskek
>>49772>>49780I'll be joining sunbros then
>>49823I think we got two in every tribe then.
I loved the attempt to make the tie tribe a feminazi state, it was quite amusing to watch
alright time to move my ass and get my tablet
>>43950I agree with this. we should have a champ through our ritual wrestling.
aightturn 6 recaps, reply to this post!
>>49884>Culture>>49793>ActionArchers are sent to hunt creatures the forest spirits allow them to (squirrels and hares)
>>49882build warrior units as guards and have wrestling champ as our captain?
>>49898Yep, basically this. Next few turns will be us upgrading Culture
>>49898Naked wrestling rituals to determine the captain of the guard sounds good to me
>>49884>ActionStart developing warrior units>CultureWrestling champ will be the captain of the guard
>>49884Bowtribe decisions from last night.>EventChieftess learns death magic.>ReaserchTribe researches into fire magic>CultureTribe makes holidays during the beginning and end of harvest season to make the common farmers happier.
>>49898Oops thought you were a Bowtie.>>49884Culture : All young people are to be physically tested in non-lethal combat every 5 years starting at 10Action : Attack the rat vermin with the best people we have
>>49926kms ignore me I thought I am the only bowtie here rn >>49923Can we physically test every person every 5 years starting at 10 to give them bowties? So if the winner of the previous time loses their bowtie gets downgraded. It gives incentive to be physically strong when young.
>>49923>>49926Scribe pls we don't even need combat testing.
>>49939It gives our people something to strive for and it keeps our population full of muscular men / women ready to punch the living shit out of anyone
>>49941The only thing is that we already have it to where people can challenge anyone in a position for their position, and we already have three ranks in the tribe. I don't think having a level system for bowties would be good when social status is a much easier thing to keep track of and not confuse the public.
turn 6 end!The tribe archers, after a council, decided that taking parts of trees, such as branches, would be fine as long as a proper communion is done by them and the wood spirit within the tree still lives. They had an intense hunting year, and their population increased by 3. They could have had more children if the leaders didn't own most of the tribe's women.
>>49974The sun tribe champions and former wrestling champions formed a manly bond around the sport, and form a loose wrestling fight mob with the current week's champion at their head. Many times this year, bodies of fishmen have drifted ashore, brutally gutted. The shaman see this as a good omen.
Does any tribe have space for one more lurker?
>>50035I think every tribe is only at 2
>>50035Naked people who stare at the sun ahve one free slot
>>49996there was much chaos amongst the tie tribe this year. The guards wanted to keep fighting the rats and train the children, but the farmers had enough. They celebrated harvesting season and the gods, while the disapproving guards refused to participate. The guards train their children to be strong fighters and have a chance to take their place someday. However, due to the tension, many duels happened, and though the Chieftess' "magic uppercut!" beat everyone, the guard composition changed and shifted a lot. Former guards are bitter, and keep training themselves and their children when not working the fields.
I'd like to join this here hippie commune (aka tree tribe)
turn 7 start!
SCRIBE BROWe got a lotta tension happening between guards and commonersWe need to make people not wanna hate each other.
>>49996So i guess that Sun champ is the boss of this mob>>50055The shamans should possess some small critter and use them to scout
>>50040We should probably set up more warding totems in case of attacks
>>50051Sure thing I guess
>>50051If the meme person isn't here, you can take their place.
>>50040Count me in, then.
>>50069Oh yeah, this makes sense too
>>50063We need a new class that's possibly for physically weak commoners - a Cataloger class. They keep track of everything and are basically the logicians of the tribe. Encourge festivals that are focused on appreciating the guards and give guards extra money for their service to the tribe.
>>50066You guys willing to trade fire tech for bows/wood?
>>50078We could also use small fish as scouts and see what causes the deaths of the fishpeople
>>50070>>50051Probably want to sort out the divide between the leaders and the other people concerning wives and shit.
>>50070So how do we deal with the baby problem? I say we add to culture that it is customary to lend out women during festivals. The children resulting from these could them be communally raised so dynastic problems are avoided.
>>50078I was thinking of a longer term goal of finding predators, somehow keeping them (like in makeshift cages or something) and then the shamans could use their possess magic on them in case of an attack.Like an army of mind controlled lions
>>50083They can be mediators between the tribal tension too, yeah! What the new class was just the priest class, and were just as high as guards, but meant to work for the betterment of everyone and making sure the clan didn't have internal strife?
>>50084But wouldn't fire upset your forest spirit? Since ya know, fire needs firewood and whatnot.>>50088>>50098What do you guys think?
>>50084Need to scout out to the great area to do that.>>50096That's a good idea but that's not too great for the kids' mental health, Psychological stuff.
>>50088>>50078So wait can spirit magic possess animals? If so we could tame and use larger beasts to defend the tribe, and keep the people free of some activity in order to better worship the sun. Also, I think we should up the rituals somehow in order to better harvest sunpower.
>>50088I didn't see this - this desuBest idea Ive seen this turn
>>50107Yeah, we got possession as level 3 spirit magic and Opee says it works better on animals. And our Shaman has reached their "potential" in magic as he said, so they'll need to actively seek out more knowledge to hunlock more magics
>>50106I think exploring towards sun village is good. Also, what about using magic to grow crops?
>>50114I think we should find more natural resources and make use of what we have already learnt before wasting more turns learning more.
>>50117Regarding fire, my plan is to use the trapping pits to store a bonfire to cook meat, so we can store it longer and easier digestion. We use the sticks from trees to fuel it only when necessary (cooking)
>>50114I see, that's pretty nifty. Do fishmen count as fully people or something between man and animal? Maybe the shaman could possess one and lure them to our cause.
>>50098Yeah we should make this our longterm goal!
>>50121Okay so we got our culture for this turn. Now we need to use our tech point.I was thinking a law system that's managed by the new clergy class.
Sun full?what is still open?
>>50139Room for one more in Bowtie
>>50117We might not know their language yet, but first contact is a step in the right direction I think. As long as they aren't offending the tree spirits.
>>50132I think so too desu. A law system to purge the corruption that may arise.
C'mon Opee, there's room for two more tribes, right? One for each magic affinity
SunBros what do you think about this> ActionPossess fish guys and find out what's been killing them> Culture???
>>50049pretty good thread Opee.
>>50132the tie tribe already has a bunch of priests of the Pantheon. They do the sacrifices and preside the celebrations.
>>50157Maybe we should get some sunbased festivals for the population?
>>50154I think the bowties are pretty close to having some people leave and make a new tribe imo.
>>50157Possess fish and/or fishmen, and for culture elaborate the rituals in order to harvest more sunpowa. Like, each 7th day the people need to sun-stare communally.
>>50164Okay then. We'll just make it their job to mediate between classes and make sure laws are in order. So no new class, but new cultural responsibilities.
>>50154if we get enough nomads why not!3 nomads reply to this and we'll introduce a new tribe!
>>50166Maybe like painting sun symbols on trees to show our appreciation for the sun's life force?
>>50157>>50166Yeah. We already have regular parties so this festival should be the biggest party with the most sun reverance>>50169But the 7th day is already the national slackoff day. Changing that may be negative
>>50173Claimed, let's go
>>50128>>50146Culture:>Cook meat using trapping pits to store bonfire. Store longer easier digestion.Action:>Send a scout with offering to Sun tribe, hope they don't backstab, they said they wouldn't.Sound good?
>>50169Plus we already stare at the sun regularly everyday anyway>>50177Wouldn't that put us against the treedudes since we might be angering the tree spiritrs
>>50128I definitely think we should invent solar ovens asap, but we would need to have mirrors for that and who knows how long that would take to research.
>>50189Cant do fire until we learn it from suns
>>50179You're right. Then how about each party starts and ends with sunstaring?
Also I think there are 4 sun guys right now
>>50173Sure why not
>>50191we're not harming the trees that way right?
>>50189What do we offer them? Food? Women?
>>50191We don't know about the tree dudes, plus the sun is the highest of the hierarchy in the natural order of things, it'll surely protect us
>>50202Does painting over them count as harming. Who knows what the fickle tree spirits think.Since we're the sun tribe so we can't understand them anyway.
>>50203We have resources (wood) and tools (bows)
>>50199you're right>>50187I think you came last into the sun tribe, how about you join the new tribe?
>>50191We don't know about the tree spirits plus the sun is the highest thing in the order of nature, it'll surely protect us.
>>50191There is never enough sunstaring, however now that you mention it it might hurt our productivity. How about we require magic pigmented underwear for parties/holidays/the 7th day? It creates a stronger tribe feeling and makes people feel more alike.
>>50207Painting people's faces doesn't hurt themTrees are stronger than people
>>50203>>50209Didn't we say we were going to give them a few bows?
>>50210Nah I was third I think
>>50227Me by a different name, you saw nothing.
>>50217Yes, we should have a proper name for this day, and not jsut call it the Tubular 7th day where nobody works and everybody gets sweet underwear
>>50210If you want me to join another tribe I will
>>50238alright, I'll announce it right now
>>50196So do we go with lending women at festivals for culture?
Yeah Burned Eyed Asshole as the last to join the sunbros, do we really only need 3?
>>50246It's not what we need, but what is allowed. And 3's that number.
>>50243Should bring them back with us though, so it sorts out our population a bit.
>>50236We can wait till sun tribe tells us what they can trade. In the meantime, lets research agriculture as our tech with berries since thats what Opee told us was in the forest so far
>>50237If only there was a name for such a 7th day where we honor the sun
>>50252No I meant for the culture change since we can't use fire yet.
Any slots open?
When you announce the tribe OP can you announce the existing ones with the usernames under each one pls to lesser the confusion?
>>50237Are we decided on the underwear, then? How about Lumen for the name of the day?
Just gonna make a quick self recap for tracking and inspiration.=Bowtie Tech=-Agriculture-Clothes weaving-Stone Spears-Simple Written Language-Mud Huts=Bowtie Social Order=-Chief-Guards-Clergy-Farmers
>>50260Yes...a day....about the sun....Day...Sun........Sun...day......welp i got nothing
>>50256Weren't they poisonous, poison tipped arrows maybe?>>50261Good idea, that could be included within the culture thing. Swap some women time for fire?
>>50267I agree on both!
making the new tribe will take a little while, not to mention they'll have to take action...if you're done with your turn, recap here!
Right, so we all agree on the possesion of the fish people and making the 7th day Lumen: national sun underwear day?
>>50287>>50278We know what berries to eat because tree spirits
>>50287So we have our culture, how about our action?
>>50285>TechEstablish written laws.>CultureMake it the responsibility of the clergy to enforce laws and mediate disputes between classes.
We have really good ideas but I think we have too much, lemme try and list everything we have and our ideas so far.>>50297Could wait until a later turn maybe?
>>50291Yep. Onwards to Lumen!
>>50297We can worry later, we need to scout that region first
>>50285>ActionUse small fish to scout ocean, and find out what is happening to the fishpeople.>CultureMagic pigmented underwear for a stronger tribe feeling
>>50285>>50309And they'll be handed out on the 7th day, now called Lumen
>>50306>>50308Ignore those posts, I was being a retard
>>50308>>50316So we're doing the pitfall bonfire thing and scouting the grey ash area?
>>50330Scouting, yes. Tech, we learn berry bush agricultureWont do bonfire till we learn fire tech
yo its me from the last thread
>>50346But it's the same thread
>>50346Ey Guard BroPeople still fightin'
ah. im dumb sorry
>>50285Action:>Scouting to the ash area, see what's there!Tech:>Learn berry bush agriculture and try very hard not to die while doing so.>>50345Making it absolutely clear.
>>50353can you recap what you done while i was off?
>>50315>>50098We should work towards making pens/cages in the next turn. so we can use animals as fighting units through posession and as a source for food.
The Orange Tribe drifted ashore!coming from a more advanced, yet harsh place, the Orange Tribe knows how to mine, smelt, and use copper in crude garments and jewelry. However, metal is a luxury for women, it would be ridiculous for a man to wear it.Men cut themselves to turn adult, and men with deeper, uglier scars are more desirable. They believed in gods, but after a terrible event they believe all form of supernatural power to be evil. They are semi-anarchistic and debate in grand meetings that last hours to make village-wide decisions. They speak a tongue similiar to the Tree Tribe.
>>50363Did this: >>50049Me and Scribe Bro both tried to turn in what we were gonna do at the same time and it made our people even more divided. This turn we gonna do this: >>50296You okay with it?
>>5037010/10 will bang orangemistresssex when
>>50370They landed in the ashlands, and settled there, amongst the sparse berry bushes. They found copper and started digging an open-air mine.they have +1 tech options.orange tribe, take action!
>>50370I like these people. We need to know the secrets of their pretty jewelry.
>>50370woah, we're atheistic then
>>50384yeah also hello scribe dude!
>>50368Ayy but how many shamans we got? If one shaman gets one creature we should get more priests/shamans as well.
>>50388start developing methods to scar self without the pain. Or develop painkillers.
>>50395I dont think the exact number was ever shown
Okay, let's first go for copper weaponsWhile metal is a luxury for women, a weapon is used to scar, thus making it an appropriate tool for man
>>50399>>50370Roll for the number of shamans?
>>50403training female warriors is fine too
>>50407>>50399we could also make it that children are taught the art of the sun at the age of 5 so they can grow up to be shamans. even if they wouldn't they'd still be able to use level 1 or 2 magic, right?
>>50370>dat orange female(Changed tripcode to be politically correc)
for starters, develop copper tools/weapons then.
>>50391Hello! >>50389Since I have nothing to do I will do something like what I did for the main Evo thread I am Grassy Advisor
>>50408True, but we shouldn't limit ourselves. I would prefer if everyone could wield weapons, so I just want to add an exception for metal use for the males
>>50429okay, Opee, Copper Weapons is a go! (where's the 3rd member again?)
>>50421Sun people are the shamans, might have to change too.>>50427I'm intrigued, tell me more...
Rolled 47 (1d100)>>50356scouting the ashlands!0-30: hostile encounter31-80: civ encounter80-100: new plant gathered
Opee were ready to do >>50296
>>50427I wasn't around for the first thread, what're ya talking about?
>>50462>>50429>>50434Hello Orange Tribe! We can kind of undestand you!
>>50473Greetings. Nice bows you have there.
>>50434I'll join in for a bitI suggest we develop scarification with coloured earth and ashes to make shitty tattoos.
>>50471i think for the long run we should focus on machinery and non magical weaponry
>>50484I'm afraid they're not bow ties, but they're the next best thing.>>50486Amazing picture, you are truly a great tribemember.
>>50496I agree on non-magic focus. What kind of machines might you mean?
turn 7 end!The priests spoke up to break the tension, gaining more power in the process. They are now the absolute judges for all social classes before the Gods. They also wrote the laws of men and women in pictographic form, giving the Chieftess' position a religious ground. The tensions have subsided for now.
>>50506Hell yeah!JUSTICE HAS BEEN INVENTED
>>50489I had an idea to combine our ritual scarring with smelting. Our young boys that scar themselves to reach adulthood do so while smelting metal, their blood mixing with the copper. This way, our smelting skill greatly increases. Plus the boys can give their finished product to a female of their choice, and it would be quite the romantic gesture, I think.
>>50504like dunno we have tech affinity so we could go into magic based basic engine/motors >>50506 cool so this turn what do we do?
>>50512i'm afraid the scaring culture could increase the mortality rate, creating appropriate painkiller or medicine should open new choices for scarring techs
>>50515I for one don't think magic motors are gonna be a thing. Magic here is more primitive and spiritual seeming. And the game is cooler if we're not that advanced.
>>50518Marks from branding are not manly enough, we prefer deep scars>>50524That is a concern, let's see what we can do about it
>>50506kelp underpants were invented. After many rashes, everyone agreed it was a terrible idea. They only use it in the coldest of winter. The shamans sent fish (instead of spirits, for some reason) to scout underwater, see what's up with the fishmen. After many uneventful tries, they finally found something - a water devil bathing in the blood of fishmen. It seems it knew it was watched - it winked at the spy fish before devouring it.
>>50525i see so for a tech point maybe like better weapons side note are the vermin still a problem if so i think fire magic is key to our survival
>>50533Ah yes, of course. The deep dark sea harbor devils. And since dark is evil we must kill the ocean
>>50533The green tribe started cautiously using magic on bushes around the village to yield a maximum amount of berries many time a year. The spirits witnessed the act and approved, though they were surprised you knew earth magic.A scouting party was sent to the ashlands. They found nothing that caught their eyes in this cursed place, and so kept walking for a long time.Eventually, they found people! They were surprised to understand what they meant (roughly) and were stunned at the wealth of their women. They had overall a positive first encounter.
>>50531amputation also could come in to mind, it shows higher status in social classes.different kind of scars also should determine the nature of people. Like burns or cuts and so on. As for the godless nature, maybe preventing death at all cost is something to think about. For death causes the soul to return to the evil god
>>50531I like your style>>50541The vermin still exist but haven't really done anything since we made guards. What I really think we need is to get a kind of ranged weapon that fits us, and since we can already make fabrics and stuff maybe we should research sling stones.
>>50543we should probably leave the waterdevil alone for now.
>>50543We shouldn't try to kill it, since it did away with the fish people, but we can't just leave it be. What if we had the shamans enslave it somehow?
>>50556Which means it's time to enact the cage plan, time go find some materials
>>50543>Kill the oceanWhere do you think the sun will go sleep then?
>>50555or like a explosive?
>>50549This must be a very rich tribe, for they decorate their money.
>>50543It's only logical we boil the ocean- I mean drop depth charges- I MEAN throw our spears down into the depths hoping they'll hit something. Yeah!>>50555Chief! I think we should focus on Medicine this round so we can trade with the sexy ore women from Orange Tribe for their ore.Bowtie Family is done
>>50554That's a good path to medicine I think, but do we have the means?
>>50560We'd have to discover combustion and gunpowder first. That's some pretty advanced stuff.
>>50558so we should try scouting for resources for cages>>50559If the sun can't go to sleep we'll be better off
>>50566lets just wait for development then. Immortality is high end stuff
>>50549>>50503Lets try and set up a trade route, copper for bows/wood?We can expand the farm idea, women solely manage farm with elder men coming to magic it out
>>50512Noice. Let's develop like fine copper wire or some shit to make the prettiest stuff. Or I dunno can we polish it up with volcano ash? Is that prettier?
>>50564That Looks Great! i also back up scribes idea on the medicine the orange guys will need it or they will die off early
>>50572Yes, Spirit scout for some materials. NOw what about the culture? Or Tech?
>>50575They'll probably want food too, not much around there.
>>50564We look wonderful! Also sure, we can focus on medicine, we already have a lot of focus on plants already so getting herbal remedies wont be too hard. Also of we're fighting rats we may need it to fight infection.
>>50549The Orange Tribe started mixing crushed coloured stones into their scars at the coming of age ceremony for hardcore points and nice colors. A smartass elongated his ritual knife to make a bigger scar and almost died. The pace is set, though; now, ritual knives are longer, making them effective weapons.Since the food is scarce and some experiments were quite detrimental to their health, their population did not grow this year.turn 8 start!
>>50566>>50574We should be able to wash down with ashen water so we smell less bad and look more nice. That could be like a start to hygiene and medicine.
We should also try to make use of shamans moar. We have the most advanced mages so far, it's be a shame to let them go to waste. While some people look for cage materials and animals, the shamans should try to come up with ways to use the power of the sun with the help of the spirits. (also somewhere down the Sunny Path, we should try to discover glass)
>>50596Oh shit. There should be some healthy herbs in those berry bushes. Research Medicines and proper scarring methods!
so for our culture roll maybe make witch doctors a bowtie rank below guards but above farmers
>>50596So their ritual knives can be used as actual military grade swords now. Wow.
>>50575I think we should trade bows for copper weapons instead of just copper. We don't really have a use for plain copper see we can't forge without lots of fire, which requires fallen trees.
>>50603Yes, so this turn we scout for materials while the shamans talk to the great shining one for some new tech?
>>50604alternatively, research agriculture
>>50596>>50584>>50566Trade rabbit/squirrel meat for copper?
>>50603we could still implement a system like this >>50419
>>50606also another thing make witch doctors a thing
>>50612That works too, pleasing the sunspirits is always a good idea
>>50606Well we do only got 32 people in the clan, I think having more than the 3 or 4 classes we got right now may spread them a little thin.I personally think we may need to expand the farms.
>>50606Witch doctors? No no, we're going to go full on medical doctors. Witch doctors are gay.
>>50611Good point, maybe use copper hoes too to til earth and have berry farms?
>>50611>>50615Copper Bladed Weapons for Bows with Sharp Bones, good trade if I do say so myself.
>>50617Yeh, that would be better actually. More shamans means more power, and since we have the best magic user so far he could also make for the best teacher of young shamans. Also, are they priests or shamans? I think shamans fits better since we go along well with spirit magic.
>>50624We need a new class of doctors for trade + personal use, and we can expand farms later. We have plenty of food.
>>50615>>50566should we?, this should cover the food shortage
>>50631That sounds like a fair tradeDoes trading take an action from both tribes or what, Opee?
>>50633'Kay then!Apothecaries it is.
and with that I'm off for a while. I'll be back tonight!when you're done with your turn, quote this post!
>>50631>>50630Maybe we should also research herbal medicine, so that we have another thing to trade
>>50634There's no point in trading them straight copper, they can only make use of the finished product
>>50641Summary for this turn:-Research Medicine or Agriculture-Trade Copper Weapons with Bows
>>50624yeah i was just thinking of a medical role for our clan
>>50632I think shamans work better too, I'll change my name accordingly
Can i join or so ?
so our turn is doctors and medicine right?
>>50659I guess that first one would just be "usage of local plants"
>>50654 so. copper weapons then for bows
>>50652>>50630Everything that has actually happened to us (a Tree Tribesman's account):>>40560>Bark and twig shacks against big tree, women shacks near shit tier tree.>We have eaten nuts and berries before that haven't poisoned us, I assume we know which ones they are.>>40695>We fucked up on making shacks in trees.>Kind of still want to do it though at some point.>>40856>Women as currency for food.>Spirit taught us how to use bows.>We can eat squirrels and hares.>>41035>Spirits have promised to teach us the basics of earth magic.>>42073>Archery is an important art.>We should wait until our next spirit encounter.>Military unit GET! (Archer)>Failed at catching animals.>>42635>We caught a few animals, some died due to bone breakage.>They escaped because we had no pens.>Buried animals and hoped spirits wouldnt find out. (p.s. they found out.)>>43097>Deer is a big nono. Don't kill deer.>Elder council is no more, experienced bowmen instead.>>43620>We got some nice earth magics.>ACCELLERATED GROWTH: Can make a sapling grow faster, or make berries mature in a bush. It still drains the soil, and extensive use can kill the plant.>>49974>Taking parts of trees is ok, only if special ritual is performed.>We are now fucking intense hunters.>>50549>Spirits approve of use of earth magic.>Orange buddies!
>>50632>>50661So do we have shamans pray for new tech or have children trained to be shaman at a young age?
>>50649Bowties>TechResearch herbal medicines>CultureEstablish a doctor class>>50660>>50633
>>50667soo...do we lock?:-Research Plant usage-Trade Copper Weapons with Bows
>>50641trading takes a cultural action from both tribes
>>50670We should develop a set of rules to help organize the clan better, one of the laws being that children are to be trained in the ways of sun-shamanism.
>>50681ok then im gonna go afk till opee is back
>>50681For the next few turns, increase our military capabilities and look into magitech machinery, along with using one turn to trade. With that said, I will now head off to bed! Goodnights yall.
>>50686>>50687If tree tribe accepts, then yeah, let's go with thatTurn after that, I want to do my idea though
>>50687>>50686Ok so we're going to open up the trade with the Copper Tribe, what's our action going to be?
>>50670I agree with this >>50692
>>50704maybe itsCulture:Copper Blade <-> Bows with Sharp Bones ??
>>50713Isn't that the culture one?
>>50718yeah i think. Trading costs the culture action
>>50692>>50711Ah yes of course. Took us this long the develop an actual rule system to organize ourselves. Truly the Sun works in mysterious but incredibly shining way
>>50713We still need a regular action.>>50652Maybe the herbal medicine idea, I like that one.>>50725Didn't you also kind of want food?
>>50727We only make rules to praise the sun more, the sun is almighty after all
>>50737does copper blade covers both bows and the rabbit meats?or should we switch out bows for food? >>50700
>>50739Of course, praise the sun
>>50749I think it's going to have to be 1 for 1, wouldn't mind some copper hoes.
>>50755i think we dont have agriculture yet, so we don't know how to build hoes. Unless Opee also allows cultural exchange
>>50764We'll have to wait until Opee gets back. If you were to choose however, which one would you go for? Bows/Food
>>50772I think it makes the most sense to trade weapons for weapons, but that's just me
>>50772as for me, i'll go for food. I dont know how long it takes for a war to spark. But its pretty peaceful for now, so no weapons. i dont know about the Tribe Chief though>>50700
>>50777I think with the copper blades and bows, we'll be in a good position to start hunting for ourselvesIf we need more even after that, we can still trade other implements
ONWARDS TO SUN SHAMANISM BROTHERS
>>50790Okay then.Tech:Research Plant Usage Culture:Trade Copper Blade <-> Bow With Sharp Bones with Tree Tribes
>>50772Maybe we can let them have both if they give us some of their women?
>>50800With our low pop? Keep dreaming.
>>50795Sun is love Sun is life
>>50776>>50772(I Know ID is different but its me from laptop, trust me)Heres what I propose for the trade:> Copper Blades <----------->Bows> Women <----------> FoodSince y'know, we trade women as currency, might as well put that to use
Summary for the sunbros, one of the shamans had this written during his sunbathing hours to keep track of what happened to our wonderful community.>>40682As we arrived on the island we started fishing, we also learned how to dry the fish thanks to the sun.>>40885To please the sun more shamans started practising more rituals by staring into the sun. also thanks to the sun we can now make kelp fiber.>>41035Fishpeople are found in the water near our village, they're agressive towards us.>>42018yellow dust is used in festivals and used by shamans to show their devotion to the sun. >>42499we now know level 2 spirit magic, we've set up warding totems along the coastline to keep the fishpeople away from us.>>43382We've tried to learn blood magic but as it turns out blood magic is not compatible with the sun.>>43620Thanks to some unseen power we've learned how to use level 3 spiritmagic, we can now posess others, however this works better on animals.>>49996We've started ritual wrestling the winner of the competition is the leader of a lax wrestling-based male fighting mob.>>50533Dead fish people started showing up on the coast. We posessed a fish to try and find the source which turned out to be a sea witch. we've decided to leave it alone for now.
>>50806Never mind, I guess you won't trade wimmins.
>>50806>>50803sorry mang, We need them ladies for more children.
Hey, any tribe in need of people?
>>50803Well you get both food and bows giving you the pop boost, which means you will probably get a net 0 gain for pop next turn with a boost because of easier hunting with bows after that.
>>50823I think both the bowtie tribe and orange tribe have place for 1 person right now
>>50777>Check'd>>50806I think we should keep the trade lanes open if you orange copper people have anything else, we'll be glad to trade.
For an action, I have a couple ideas> Reproduce: Get more men warriors and wimmin farmers> Build pen: Build this out of wood to capture medium animals we can domesticate> Capture live bunnies to breed: We have pits we can but the rabbits in, and they should be easy to carry in your hands
>>50847Reproducing is an action?
>>50830The hunting tech is still unresearched. And our culture has crazy high mortality rate right now. For me, i'm not taking any chances.
>>50830So just to clarify,>Copper weapons = food or bows>Women = food and bows
>>50830If the trade is continuous then we're constantly losing women for food we might be able get on our own anyway, which I can't see being good for our population growthIf it's just once, then how much impact can that food really have? Our women are too valuable to be giving away so easily anyway
>>50847Could roll for it.>1: Reproduce>2: Build Pen>3: Capture Bunnies1d3 obvs
Rolled 2 (1d3)>>50859
>>50857If the women thing happens then probably just use them instead of mass reproduction.>>50862Pen building it is.
>>50835Bowties seem like cool people.
>>50873Only the coolest.Welcome Holy Bro
>>50795>>50752So for next turn what are our action and culture?>ActionScout resources for cages and pens>CultureChildren are taught the ways of sun-shamanism at a young age to encourage the ways of the sun
>>50881Yeah I agree with that
>>50881>CultureThe Laws of The Golden Path are developed, which mandate among other things that children now learn the art of shamanism.
>>50888That's better lets use that
>>50820>>50851Well feel free to change the deal later on when you have more people.
im back is opee back?
>>50929Nope.Meet Holy Bro >>50873
>>50929>>50934Hey, just standing around, waiting for something to happen, praying and lighting candles and shit.
While you were busy doing stuff...Ideas we've had but not acted on (a Tree Tibesman's account):>>40811>Maybe get the men to try and hunt for animals to domesticate?>>41134>Also I think for archery and magic maybe we should separate the two? Like, men are warriors, but there's magic warriors and archer warriors.>>41348>Could invest some nice armour. Keeps the blood off our skin while keeping our own blood inside as much as possible.>>43154Sun tribe wanna trade?>>43820>We need to sort out our magic. Plant a new tree every weekend?>Make it a cultural practice! Young daughters and wives plant trees for the sake of their husbands' and father's success, and the tree spirits.>>49524>Trade bows for fire knowledge!>>49663>Learn some agriculture! (Kind of, maybe expand...)>>49707>Maybe build protected shrines around trees?>>50096>I say we add to culture that it is customary to lend out women during festivals. The children resulting from these could them be communally raised so dynastic problems are avoided.>>50117>I think exploring towards sun village is good.>>50128>My plan is to use the trapping pits to store a bonfire to cook meat, so we can store it longer and easier digestion.>>50195>I definitely think we should invent solar ovens asap.>>50278>Poison tipped arrows maybe?>>50847>Reproduce - get more men warriors and wimmin farmers.>Capture live bunnies to breed: We have pits we can but the rabbits in, and they should be easy to carry in your hands.
>>50649Orange Tribe>Trade with Tree Tribe, copper blades for bows>Research the usage of local plants
>>50942back again priest read through our history(past turn posts) and make a timeline for us
I made a thing
>>51025YOU WHAT MATE
>>51025That is a great thing.
>>51025Hahaha this is great
>>51025Plugging in my Tablet
>>51028I gotta admit dude, it's weird how you are ruled by money. I mean greed is one thing but this is a whole new level.
>>51054>Ruled by money>I didn't get it at firstTHIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS
Suntribe is best tribe though
>>51057gonna lurk again see ya when opee is back
>>51025There is nothing gay about sweaty, naked men grappling eachother in the sand to show their dedication to the glorious sun, having its shining rays bouncing off the their glistening skin
So for now>>50916>ActionScout resources for cages and pens in order to capture animals>CultureThe Laws of The Golden Path are developed, which mandate among other things that children now learn the art of shamanism. We should plan ahead a bit sunbros. I say we try to advance teh majeks while the cages are built and animals are captured. Our repertoire of spells should be as large as possible, after all.
