/qst/ - Quests

File: Anime.jpg (272 KB, 1920x1080)

OH SHIT-! You and 2-5 other faggots across the globe have been caught in a tragic combine harvester accident at the exact same time. The only thing any of you have in common is that you're 4chan posters, happen to browse /qst/, and are in this together. You're in luck because the God of Chaos has burned through his anime backlog and thinks watching you chucklefucks stumble around in fantasyland is the next best thing. To make sure that you don't die immediately, he plans to give you a choice but first he wants to know what he's gotten himself into.

Stat YOURSELF by rating your stats and any skills you have on a sliding scale. Minuscule is barely there, Weak is shit-tier, Low is pathetic, Below Average is meh-tier, Average is average, Above Average is noticeable, High is impressive, and Exceptional is badass. In skills, Average is a normal professional, and everyone is Minuscule in skill unless they practice. The ten stats are Strength (lifting), Toughness (tanking), Willpower (mind over matter), Dexterity (hands), Agility (everywhere else), Reflex (speed), Intelligence (learning), Intuition (gut feeling), Wisdom (common sense), and Charisma (smooth talking). The skills are infinite and depend on whatever you personally know.

Last, determine your Strengths and Weaknesses. These don't have a sliding scale they're there or they're not. Any talents, positive attributes, or negative shortcomings belong here. If you are a 9/10 on a bad day that's a Strength, if you are terrified of bright noises that's a Weakness. Each gives a bonus or penalty to specific actions. List as many as you think you have. That's it for the first stage of the two-part intro.

The more honest you are statting yourself, the more fun this is going to be. As many anons that want to join in can, but the more there are the more dangerous your start will be. I'll leave this here for two days, if you want to play make a statsheet.

Omnidexterous: You are capable of preforming several basic tasks with both hands and a few with your feet

On the fly: You are capable of creating and using both melee and ranged makeshift weaponry

Weaknesses

Out of sight: Gains a -2 ranked shift on vision based rolls. (Looking for small details or objects in the distance)

Unacceptable: NPCs will be less inclined to provide aid or advice. In addition, gaining companions will be much more difficult

Strengths

Fool: You are a complete and utter dumbass who's skills make one question how you've been able to live for so long. Somehow you're still alive, as if the world itself bends in a way that you don't instantly die horribly.

Citizen of the internet: You are considered to have Below average knowledge skill in pretty much everything except the most esoteric and vague topics. This sometimes backfires as this is mostly information you learned browsing the internet or reading light novels which COULD be bullshit but whatever,

The most depraved/nutless clarity: Due to your time in the darkest parts of the internet, normal women pretty much don't do it for you. Anybody trying to seduce you gains a massive penalty and you find it hard to romantically or sexually be attracted to people.

Weaknesses

Bored now/I'll do it later: You find it hard to actually focus on something for an extended period of time. Generally you start multiple projects or read multiple stories, become bored mid way then say you're going to do later but a year passes and you figure it's pretty much too late.

Partially Sociopathic, Fully Autistic: You're REALLY bad at talking to people. Generally you can fake short term interactions, even seem charming however the longer you spend time with people the longer your awkward silences between each other lasts, the longer people realize there's something not exactly "right" about you. You also have a tendency to spout innocently inappropriate phrases that are either rapey, racist or straight savage.

Didn't think that through: A lot of times you do incredibly stupid shit that seemed like a good idea at the time. Generally with your luck you actually succeed for the first half before your realize maybe mixing dangerous chemicals in your house because you wanted to see if your amazon gas mask worked was a bad idea.

Strengths

Lady Luck: For some reason, things just work out for you in the end. Even at you're lowest there always a chance to turn things around and make it back on top.

Passionate Madman: Whenever you're motivated, you find yourself going past the distance and making the impossible possible. When you set your mind on to something or get in the mood, there's no limit to what you can achieve.

It's Showtime: Whenever you commit to an identity you find yourself immersed in the act. Up to the point where you're able to perfectly perform the role your current disguise demands of you.

Weaknesses

Sadistic Savant: You have an unfortunate habit of getting into situations where you show your more destructive side. Be it a fight or sporting of dominance, you are always feeling the need to release the beast.

Narcolepsy: At the worst or unexpected of times you have a habit of falling asleep. Otherwise, when not motivated you feel frequently empty and disinterested.

Androgynous: Because of your appearance you're often mistaken for another gender. More incline to get involved with wacky hijinks in regard to gender-bend slapstick on the dime.

Did I do that?: has a tendency to be impulsive. Will do or say things without thinking about it. Can be for the better in some situations.

Information floods into your minds as a series of options appears before you. The first seems to be a series of classic archetypes and the second, a numbered list of short titles for something you can't help but wonder.

> CLASSES:
> Warrior - A mundane master of martial combat, you receive a significant boost to your Strength and Toughness and are considered to have High skill in every weapon and armour you choose to wield.
> Rogue - An accomplished savant of subterfuge and guile, you receive a boost to your Agility and Dexterity and are considered to have High skill in both sneaking and the arts of thieving, lockpicking, and pickpocketing.
> Sorcerer - A magic user tapping into your own mind, you may attempt to visualise spells and cast them in accordance to your imagination. Sorcery is fickle and often backfires or works in unexpected ways.
> Priest - A champion of a deity of your choice, you may invoke them to lend you miraculous aid from above or below. Your deity doesn’t always answer and members of rival religions shall hate or shun you.

> CHEATS:
> 1) Brick Phone
> 2) The Time Anon Reincarnated as a Monster!
> 3) Cosmic Vending Machine
> 4) [Catch Phrase]
> 5) Edgelord
> 6) Moneychanger
> 7) Chaos Factor
> 8) Sweet Ride
> 9) Death Count
> 10) Harem Protag
> 11) True Sight
> 12) A E S T H E T I C
> 13) Anonymous
> 14) [Make a Stand]
> 15) Strange Aeons
> 16) Omae wa mou shindeiru
> 17) Vice/Virtue
> 18) After-Effect
> 19) Electric Conduit
> 20) Dragon Soul

More knowledge enters your psyche, and the potential options are revealed to you. You may choose a class, guaranteed to grant great power and eventually supernatural competency in its specialty and roll a single d20 on the Isekai cheat chart for a boon ranging from mediocre to gamebreaking, you can decide not to take a class and roll dual d20s on the Isekai cheat chart, or you can refuse to roll on the Isekai cheat chart and gain access to a specialty subclass straight away. Each available class is only at its starting point. Alternatively if you are a big-dicked megachad you can refuse to take any class or cheat power, and make you accomplishments that much more impressive.

>"NO, BUT YOU'LL HAVE PLENTY ENOUGH OF THAT!"

You feel your soul shear into two as your subconscious manifests into a form of your choosing and you gain the innate knowledge of how to access a trove of potentially infinite bounty.

> (14) [Make a Stand] You have your own Stand, as seen in Jojo’s bizarre adventure. This can be customised as you see fit, but can’t wield powers over space or time. It starts at E in everything but Developmental Potential and grows stronger over time. Magic users and other Isekai victims can sense it.
> (3) Cosmic Vending Machine You and only you can access a cosmic vending machine that can take any object or currency and exchange it for a random item exactly identical in value. The item is summoned from across the multiverse and impossible to predict.

>>3909082
>"SORCERY, ALWAYS A GOOD CHOICE! AHHH, THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!"

You sense your coordination double, no, triples and you instinctively shift into a combative stance that feels more comfortable than any other posture. This isn't an innate improvement, you grasp, but the result of instant mastery of a supernatural skill that at the moment, only you know.

> (16) Omae wa mou shindeiru You are a master of a hyperlethal martial art unique to you, specialising in a specific kind of kill, counter, and takedown determined by you. You can teach this to others but it will take time. This doesn’t necessarily give you the physical fitness to use it to its full potential, but it does provide the motivation to get there.

>>3909092
>"I AM UNSURPRISED AT YOUR CHOICE!"

You feel your pocket grow much heavier, and when you reach inside, you pull out what seems to be a brick with a screen and primitive keyboard. Instinctively, you understand this is far more than it seems.

>(1) Brick Phone You possess a nokia heavy enough to crack a skull. It is indestructible, needs no charge, and needs no maintenance. If you know any being’s name, you can call them to have a conversation that they cannot trace, at any time. They don’t have to answer.

You pause as something deep within changes. In one moment, the sense of who you are is confined to you and you alone, and so detached from the idle lies of the cosmos, the truth of reality is open to you.

> (13) Anonymous You are impossible to remember when you’ve left someone’s sight, you can’t be recorded in any way, and you leave no evidence of your existence. This doesn’t apply to other Isekai victims. In addition, you can still post on 4chan but trying to prove you’ve been Isekai’d will get you laughed at.
> (11) True Sight You can see, smell, feel, hear, and touch everything exactly as it is, your five senses are perfected, and it is impossible for someone to lie or hide their intentions from you. Lying leaves the taste of bubbling soap in your mouth.

This is going to be such a clusterfuck, and Mythic's scene-building dice won't help matters. If it slogs down from too many players not participating, I'll automate anyone absent following the lead of everyone actively posting in the background. Surprisingly balanced party, barring the fact that there isn't a priest yet.

1 Rogue, 2 Stand Users, one a Warrior and the other a /d/eviant with the keys to a cosmic vending machine, 3 Sorcerers, one an Imp, another a kungfu master, and the third a Wizard, all topped off by a faceless sportsman with perfect perception, an indestructible brick phone with infallible reception, and not a single dedicated priest. Not even counting what comes up tomorrow. This'll be a beautiful clusterfuck.

>I think we need money and contacts first and foremost.

"We're all a bunch of fucking Autists right now with some hodge podge powers. Even if we can blow up towns or upturn governments, we need resources to live."

"Specifically aside from our 40 year old virgin friend, a lot of us, even with the normal world combat skills, are probably only mid tier right now when it comes to combat excluding me who even with a stand'll probably get my ass kicked."

"I propose we get enough money and contacts that the classed characters get partially into their sub-classes and everybody get some skills to round themselves"

>>3909483
I don't know yet, I'll be running this with the Mythic RPG, which randomises scenes, characters, and has a quite lethal nifty combat system. Knowledge of your name and face is fundamentally impossible for anything short of an elder god and even then it's only vague, but the rest of the players aren't effected in the slightest and you can always develop an indirect persona.

Being invisible in plain sight comes effortlessly, and trying to be inconspicuous exponentially improves the effect. Ignoring violence, illegal actions, or presence somewhere that you are most certainly not allowed, you can expect to be overlooked with all of the advantages that confers. The Anonymous Cheat is essentially Terry's Moot on a cocktail of black tar heroin and PCP. Though you don't have his thief skills or improved Agility and Dexterity, or the supernatural power or outright combative skill of the others, your High Strength helps bridge the gap and you're useful in a plethora of other ways.

Asking 4chan for advice is something you can do in-character.

>>3909494
Because [Dr. Stone] is so extremely broad in scope, he'll start out weak as shit but in a century or two of grinding to his full potential, he'll be able to borderline, if not outright warp reality. Antimagic has an extremely reduced effect on Stands, because they're psychic, not magic. Also, what does [Dr. Stone] look like? I'll give your question an in-character response tomorrow. If there isn't some HEAVY amounts of Chaotic corruption specifically channeled to invoke him or a devout priest sacrificing something of immense value, Kek won't be making any more appearances outside of the background.
>>
>>3909449
"Really, all I want is to go on cool adventures, fight for the weak, and hang out with a bunch of cool people, whatever else we're doing doesn't matter one bit. Maybe I'll come up with something meaningful as we go."

>>3909494
"Fortunately, we're autists with a basic awareness of fantasy tropes at the very least. First thing we need to do is check for an adventurer's guild, that's how all these things start right? They can at least get us some basic kit and a place to sleep."
>>
I'm going to sleep for real this time. Looking forward to starting us off.
>>
>>3909511
You say that like I don't know an all around E stand would be weak in direct combat but you forget having a mostly invisible entity who's rules change depending on whatever the OTHER Bizarre god feels like can be abused in plenty of ways if you're creative enough. Mix a magical vending machine that eats anything you can pick up and you've got the greatest thief and fence combo. "
>>

>>
>>3909578
"We've got two other Sorcs. If that doesn't work we can just pretend to be a travelling circus or say you're somebody's particularly smart pet sidekick. We form a duo. I'll be batman and you can be detective chimp."

Strengths:

Under Pressure: When things are down to the wire you always seem to be composed and confident where others bend and break.

Crunch Time: You're at your best when things are at their worst. All checks are easier when calamity looms.

Born to Run: The result of one of a rare few commitments, short bursts of incredible speed and endless charges across the land are possible. Terrain and encumbrance are meaningless in the face of your lust for speed.

Weaknesses:

Can't be Assed: You find it incredibly difficult to commit yourself to tasks you don't enjoy, even if they would take little effort to complete.

Intense Presence: Your stoic demeanor and curt manner of speaking paired with strongly held convictions make people unfamiliar with you anxious or even fearful.

Hard to Read: Your constant deadpan makes you difficult to understand, often leading to misunderstandings.

Give me Warrior and a Roulette.

Each of you stand in the space between realms, discussing your plans and steeling yourselves for the trials to come. Just when sinking dread has begun to replace their anticipation, they hear a loud popping noise and stumble onto the ground as a new reality snaps into place around them. It is freezing cold and the snow is almost closer to ice but each find themselves wearing gloves, fur scarves, and thick cloaks over their clothes. On their backs are primitive satchels that, when examined, reveal a week's worth of beef jerky, hard cheese, crackers, waterskins, and not much else.

It's the middle of the night. The warriors, Jake Black and Chase Kanoy find a crudely forged rusted shortsword, war-axe, or mace as is their preference, along with a buckler comprised of several stained and splintery boards nailed together with a strap handle. The two sorcerers find that they have a flimsy, cracked wand an eighth grader could've put together in woodworking class, but their wizard counterpart finds that in addition to his wand, he has an appropriately pointy hat. Terry Ellington has a sharp but well-worn copper dagger sheathed at his side, and Miracle Diedonne has a catholic bible and wooden crucifix.

Everyone else is shit out of luck. You turn to one another and begin to discuss, when a loud, feminine screaming attracts your attention from the forest to the center of a wide clearing, where a stone temple stands and around fifty walking corpses gnash their teeth. Most of them are zombies in peasant's rags, the majority of them fresh and exhibiting evidence of blunt trauma, but a handful stand with some measure of intelligence, clutching rusted hatchets and hammers no better than your own tools.

These, the more savvy among you recognize are wights and the screaming came from the center of the horde, near the temple's door. One of them is clutching the hair of a younger woman in red-fringed white robes, who continues shouting. "Y-you're desecrating a holy temple! The Adventurer's Guild will hear about this, and when they do-!"

>*SMACK*

The connection of the backhand is audible, and the snarling moreso. "Silence, whore! Your flock will join our ranks and when the master returns, he will have his due!" Another in solid white robes, this one a man forced on his knees speaks out. "Blasphemer! The three-pronged scepter of martyr's mourning is holy, and you can't ever corru-"

>*WH*CHK*

The brave man's falls dead as the wight rips his hatchet out. Numb, the priestess stares at the corpse and the handful of survivors shiver, but not from the cold. The wight leading them howls above the din. "SEARCH THE REST OF THE GODDESSES' TEMPLE AND PUT THEIR FALSE SCROLLS TO THE BLACK TORCH! YREDELEMNUL DEMANDS IT!"

As far as you know, the mass of undead stumbling into the temple are unaware that you're here but there's no way they won't find out soon enough.

> What do you want to do?
>>
>>3910214
“Black torch huh? That sounds interesting I’ll have to snag one of those if I get the chance. So aside from Miracle and myself who wants to retrieve our tour guide?”

"Smaller horde than I thought but still wayy too much for us."

"Virgin can you set up a barrier to at least slow them down from entering rhe temple"

"Somebody should go inside to make contact with the temple. I suggest new guy and Terry since Terry has the phone. Maybe new guy can take as many warriors as he can into the temple. Some of us should stay here with a call on to monitor the situation and coordinate a counter attack...."

"...That or cut our losses and run"

Based and respectable.

You sense that Radiant and Holy damage is extremely effective against the undead and that against them, Fire is the most effective of the primary elements. They don't feel pain, fear, or mercy and they want to consume your life force, which is the energy the soul produces to keep living bodies functioning. Undead are resilient toward mundane damage but blunt, disabling attacks are the most effective.

To destroy the zombies, you need to either banish the negative energy filling their bodies, or render even their bodies incapable of functioning. Because you aren't a Priest or Necromancer, you would have to destroy the brainstem. The neck is a more ideal target than the skull, this would run true even if you were wielding a mace.

>>3910254

If the first part works then what we will do is essentially rush the temple, our warriors will good at that. If any of you get hurt either me or the temple's staff will try to heal you."
"Does this sound like a good plan? I'm trying my best."
>>
>>3910275

"You're still thinking wayy too conventional and optimistic Chase. More than half of the group would be a liability in a combat environment especially sneak attacks and especially in such an open area where we can get run down by the Knight or the non-stamina needing undead."

"For shits and giggles I kinda want to defend in the temple and set it to burn but that's just me. Personally I'm in the wait and see or sneak into the temple camp."
>>
>>3910295
"Tactically speaking, we should be at an advantage for as long as their leader doesn't notice our presence. If we can pick off stragglers one by one we shouldn't have as much trouble as compared to an all-out confrontation."
>>
>>3910284
"Hmph, alright, I will continue to hide until we reach a consensus on what plan of action to go with."
>>
>>3910291
Wights are similar to zombies but managed to hold onto some of their memories and intelligence from life, though these are hell-bent toward killing as many of the living as possible. They have much more negative energy than zombies, allowing them to directly drain the life force of those they attack and use it to fuel the recovery of their wounds. Wights can animate corpses into crude zombies and skeletons, though never more than 1-5 a day, depending on the age and strength of the wight. They find sunlight mildly painful and magical sources of light are irritating.

Each is capable of giving simple "one-word" commands to lesser undead but otherwise can't direct them. You sense the zombies sifting through the temple are operating from the search command. Beyond that, you don't know, wights are as varied in tactics as living generals but given their usual followers and tendency toward low intelligence, tend to be straightforward.

Realising the importance of not being seen, Jake tries to find somewhere to hide and soon sees it, behind a small hill covered in snow. He sneaks over to the embankment and takes cover from the sight of the undead, along with most of the others, who see no reason not to.

Focusing his intellect and harnessing his will, Lie does his best to shroud himself and his party in a mystical veil but can't clearly visualise something so esoteric with so little experience to operate with.

At the same time, Alex tries to shroud the group and succeeds- in channeling a mystic covering that blocks his life force from their senses. It'll last around thirty minutes but unfortunately, only effects him.

David grows bored of waiting for something to happen, and throws three day's worth of rations into the Cosmic Vending Machine, with an inaudible *CH-UNK* sound inside his head. Five seconds later, a pair of locked modern handcuffs and an uneaten glazed donut appear in his hands. He gets the sense that he has simultaneously ruined and vastly improved someone's day.

Miracle is slightly enthralled by the vision he is given and commits it to memory as fast as possible.
"I have gained a divine vision of The Death Knight's location. I will attempt to estimate his distance from us along with average speed to calculate how much time we have left to escape. In the mean time help Terry escape with the priestess and help Chase escape from the zombies.

Ever bold, Chase sees no reason to wait and tries to sneak into the temple, either to rescue the priestess or ambush the wights. He would've managed it, too, if he didn't snap a twig with his foot and catch the attention of four undead milling on the fringes. Each groans and starts shambling through the snow, while he stands and readies his shield and blade. They feel comfortable in his hands, like he's wielded them for years.

Slightly annoyed at the sight of this farce to the thief's art, Terry resolves to do it himself and, filled with sudden understanding of how and how not to move, sneaks through the scattered undead so skillfully it's as if he's a ghost. The priestess stares at him with wordless gratitude, and clings to his wrist as they return to the forest. The rest of the cultists understand the difficulties, and are content to remain until they can be rescued or if need be, martyred. As soon as the two reach the treeline, the priestess breaks down and collapses onto the snow, babbling and weeping "Thankyouthankyouthankyou sosososo m-m-much, theyjust- theyjust... there were so many of them, they just-... they just..." She's been severely traumatised and someone will have to knock her out of it to get anything else.

Among the Heavenly Host, far from the debacle at this pagan temple, the Archangel sees his foremost follower in that world is in need, and sends him a vision. Miracle's eyes widen as he catches sight of a massive skeleton in plate armour, menacing with spikes and clutching a golden staff with a triumphant leer. Not much else is visible, but he catches sight of a skeletal horse riding that he thinks is riding away from their current location. Focusing, he hears the grave-knight cackle.

>"NYEHEHEHEHEH! SOON, THE KINGDOM SHALL BE MINE!"

The vision then fades, and lucidity returns.

Terry asks the Priestess if she'd like to accompany him back out of the trees, but she stares at him as if has grown a second head, then shakes hers. "N-no, nononotoutthere." Shrugging his shoulders, he strides out to the snow in a leisurely jog, waves his hand, and entices two of the zombies to chase him. They fail to come within two arm's reaches as the nimble rogue strolls backward, somewhat enjoying himself.

David hands the handcuffs to [Dr. Stone] expecting him to fumble with their lock but after ten seconds of tinkering with the mechanism, he drops it in his lap. Huh, they really are manifestations of the subconsciousness. Noticing the Priestess stumbling into their hiding spot, he motions for [Dr. Stone] to get out of sight but senses he's already taken the initiative of phasing into a tree trunk.

Lie Alius decides to put his wizardry to proper use, and easily, almost trivially manages to summon a pair of flimsy but functional forcefields which then wrap around Terry and Chase alike. Not so bad for a second spell, if he does say so himself.

Staring into the first zombie's milk-white eyes, he feels almost as if time slows and he is dancing. A snap of his wrist part's the undead's adam's apple and shatters its spine, whipping back out to slash the second that, by a stroke of luck, stumbles under his attack! It staggers forth to rip into his throat but his reflexes prove their worth and he steps to the side, sinking the stiletto into the back of its neck in a single smooth motion.

Jake does his best to calm down the priestess, but she ignores him completely in favour of huddling to a ball and sobbing. The rest can hear her voice crack and some cringe in sympathy, but taking the initiative, David throws his cloak over her shoulders. It's freezing without it but she seems to quiet and loosen a little. His generous offer of a canteen does nothing to better the situation.

As the others stumble over themselves to comfort the priestess, he stifles a chuckle and decides to laugh to himself later. Miracle prays to the Saint Michael for a miracle of healing and receives it, in the form of a gentle warmth that fills his body and exits his palms into her, on the priestess's shoulder beneath the cloak. For a minute longer she stays still, then raises her head. "M-my name is M-miyashita Emiya and I-I am a humble- w-was... a h-humble hearthkeeper of Elivylon, the maiden goddess of healing." The priestess gives a smile that doesn't reach her terrified eyes, but the gratitude is plain in her voice. "W-who are you heroes? I-I don't see any badges of the Adventurer's Guild..."

I did not mean to destroy the temple.
But that doesn’t change anything.
>>
>>3910846
Praying too often, for something too trivial, or at a bad time has ruinous consequences to the beseecher and most of the time when miracles do come they're subtle. Miracle already had the attention of his patron deity, the temple was built in the name of an opposing religion, filled with unholy abominations, a dozen lives were on the line, and he lucked the fuck out with the rolls.

Thinking fast, Jake explains that they're pilgrims who heard of the temple and came to see it. This brings a brief smile to the priestess, "Oh, I'm humbled! Oho-oh, if only the three-pronged scepter of martyr's mourning wasn't stolen before you arrived... It's such a quiet, sacred place and with the holy staff on the altar-"

David tunes out Miyashita's gushing of the temple and focuses on the fight in progress. Chase moves with impressive finesse, dispatching corpse after corpse with the practiced ease of a trained duelist, if not a master. He senses that by the way he moves, there's something more to his method than skill alone. This could be the result of that cheat the frog mentioned, 'Counter of Death,' wasn't it?

Terry decides to bring a fresh batch of corpses over to Chase, who seems to be having a good time. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on perspective, the swift movement draws eight more to start scrambling to tear the flesh from his bones! Though he's quick on his feet and manages to evade the clumsy fools quite handily, the sight of the warrior face-planting and getting tackled by the pair he's preoccupied with gets their undivided attention. They'll be there in less than a minute's time. Oh shit.

Chase lunges to execute a zombie in what would've been a perfect strike, if his ankle didn't get caught in a buried root and slam him onto the ground. Both of the corpses collapse over themselves biting at his neck and shoulders, but the shield the wizard put in place keeps their teeth from sinking in as he rolls out from under them, stands, and brings his blade down in two skull-splitting blows. He groans from no emotion but surprise as the skin on the back of his right hand is blackened by ink in the shape of a Roman IV. Sick. The shield however, dissipates without a trace and eight more are moving in from three angles. Fuck.

Never one to let the opportunity to interject sarcasm, Lie tells Miyashita the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. She stares at him in mild shock, before turning away as Miracle asks whether she could help them. The priestess sighs as if in apology, "The f-followers of Elyvilon are no warriors, but I'll do what I can to mend your wounds." He nods, expecting such an answer and turns to the temple. A strange serenity comes over him as he raises his hands in a prayer of deliverance to the Archangel.

Moments later, the ground seems to shake beneath his feet, until he opens his eyes and realises that the ground is actually shaking. A rumbling can be heard in the distance, getting louder and louder by the moment until an ear-splitting crack sounds over the din. Everyone stares in mild confusion before the ground beneath the temple shatters and the peaceful shrine to healing that has stood for nearly a century plummets to the bottom of the chasm. It's gone, and the only things that remain are the huddled worshipers in front and the doorframe, which remains intact.

>cont.
>>
>>3911009
No-one can quite believe their eyes, even the fifteen zombies left stare transfixed. The priestess is the first to come to her senses and she climbs to the top of the hill, stares at the scene of devastation, and draws the cloak tighter, trembling. "Y-you're not really pilgrims, are you?"

First of all, yes we're lurking, usually I keep my name as AnonKnight when I participate in a quest I like and hope lasts for a while so you'll know it's me.
Secondly, it's in my own opinion that there are 3 choices for other anons joining. Option 1 is that the setting that OP comes up with just has the right opportunity for someone to jump in like you all end up finding someone that the Death Knight has been experimenting on or about to convert into a special undead or something. Option 2 is one of yall might die and OP will allow someone to take up his place during a checkpoint like recruiting someone from a tavern so that OP doesn't burn out from managing a huge number of people. Option 3 is that everyone is this quest dies and that sets up Multiplayer Isekai Quest #2 with another rotation of characters and a different setting.
Finally, I would like advice on how you all did your characters cause I legit do not know how to make one even when OP gave us a template in the beginning.

Feel free to clarify whatever I said or missed OP. If I haven't said it before, I'll say it again. I'm enjoying this quest immensely. xD
>>
>>3910893
Of course the grave-knight's dead, but he is reanimated and intact. At the moment he's half an hour's ride away but the sound of an earthquake and sudden loss of almost forty undead has certainly caught his attention. There's an even 50/50 chance he's going to ride back and investigate for himself or cut his losses and hoof it while he can.

You sense that there are several different kinds of reanimated knight, this in particular is a grave-knight, a powerful necromantic warrior risen to do battle by the decree of a dark god. In this case, Yredelemnul. They are essentially wights but better in every way, possessing strength and durability at least five times what they had in life, necromancy to match a sorcerer, and a handful of innate abilities, most notably, animating any corpses in sight, absorbing life force to heal themselves or hurt their foes, and with intense focus and exhaustion, mirroring the wounds inflicted on them to reflect half of the damage they suffer to their opponents.

You reason that if you were to fight the grave-knight, your best chance would be at a distance with a small battalion of archers firing blessed arrows and at least one priest banishing the negative energy, preferably with a sorcerer bringing down as many destructive spells as possible. Failing that, catching him by surprise before he can activate his mirror ability is ideal.

>>3910901
As a priest, you have the authority of your patron and can channel their will to accomplish a handful of effects related to their portfolio. Your patron presides over opposition to the unholy, the weighing of souls, and the protection of the church. This grants you the ability to banish unholy entities, convict the wicked, and heal your allies though this is less effective if they don't share the religion. A priest of Bane, for example, would be able to dominate nonbelievers, bolster their own strength, and instill hate in their followers. Prayer is necessary to accomplish anything outside of the narrow domain and is unreliable but potentially extremely powerful.

...

I really think I took the wind out of our sails with this last update, and I'm considering retconning it and reinterpreting the last bit of rolls, because Miracle didn't specifically say he was praying and it was retarded of me to assume so. That, and it's anticlimatic as shit. What do you think?
>>
>>3911124
Up to you OP, I'm cool with it. Just wasn't acting because I wasn't sure if the lore fluff was finished.
>>
>>3911124
My opinion or Miracle's?
>>
>>3911124
I would be cool with a retcon if everyone else is game. I desire to see the number go up more.
>>
>>3911124
Sorry for double posting but realized my question was stupid when OP's question implied everyone. But as
>>3911128
said it's up to you OP. I don't know anything about Miracle RPG so idk if the priest class is completely tied to asking the patron god for nearly everything or that Miracle doesn't have to and is fully autonomous unless she is required to concerning matters involving divinity. Like she can cast spells like everybody else does but if she wants to add the extra oomph then she prays to her patron for the extra part
>>
>>3911006
Don't stress it, you're just in time for our first and possibly last collective player-to-GM vote.

>>3911036
I'm glad you like the quest so far. They players aren't making characters, they're statting themselves. It's an Isekai.

>>3911128
I don't know, I just feel like it ended too soon for any genuine tension or character development to happen.

>>3911134
What are you talking about?

>>3911143
I'm thinking a straight rewind, brief whiplash, and we go on from there as normal.
>>
>>3911146
Miracle isn't the name of the RPG, that's Mythic. Miracle is the name of the priest and there isn't a class system, only stats, skills, and abilities. The classes are an easy way to dish out the archetype boons someone might expect from going into a fantasy setting.
>>
I had a cool idea for something I could do with Miracle: he could use his stand to increase the velocity of my sword and bless it so Chase can tear through all these zombies.
>>
>>3911155
>>3911148
Ok gotcha. Thanks for clarifying that for me OP.
>>3911163
Speed of Sound Sonic or Atomic Samurai from One Punch Man vibes from that idea xD
>>
Whoops I got distracted telling another QM he's a faggot and trying to convince him to let us fuck a Magical Girl's probably male Peacock mascot.

Honestly it was kinda anti-climactic, especially after all the planning we've been doing but Miracle rolled it and I don't see a reason for him not to have the spotlight.

I'm down for whatever though, personally I can make my own fun and chaos given enough time or if nothing happens for an extended period.
>>
>>3911172
I also genuinely thought we were done for now and thought it might not be the best idea looking at spoilers if it wasn't directed at me sooo yeah.
>>
Since nobody seems to feel too strongly either way I'll just go in favor of the retcon because I want to build up this fight more, clear out the temple, maybe fight a Grave Knight if we're feeling particularly ballsy.

I was more worried about the Grave Knight but yeah, I was planning on using the phone rather than the knife during this encounter
>>

It's fine, I was going through a mini timeskip undergoing imp tutorial 101 on how to use my skills while avoiding the priestess.
>>
>>3911312
If anything since it's indestructible, you can probably get someone to enchant it with a size growth and fight like Mashu from FGO
>>
I've been doing some thinking for the last two hours and I realised it's fucking cowardly to retcon an encounter because it's anticlimatic and didn't go the way anyone planned it. If I went ahead and walked it back, any semblance of tension would leave the quest and I can't abide that. The earthquake is canon, we'll run full speed ahead with it, and future encounters will escalate because the grave-knight won't take this lying down. If anyone is curious, I'm not Catholic and wasn't trying to wank the denomination, it just seemed the most fitting way to handle the rolls at the time.

>>3911265
>>3911270
You still have to stat yourself and decide whether you're choosing a class or rolling for another cheat.

Probably a good call all things considered. Now we get to deal with the fallout of accidentally commiting a crusade against a Shinto temple and meddling in the plot of a fell avatar of evil and undeath. Isn't it all so exciting?!
>>
>>3911328
We're too far in to back out. Both the left and right roads are burning in fire and our only option is forward!
>>
>>3911316
You and Chase pretty much read my playbook. As soon as I saw how I stacked up to everyone else, I knew that using enchantments and finding outrageous weapons was mandatory
>>
>>3911320
They have no incentive to aid me, but trust me, this phone will see plenty of use(if things go relatively smoothly)
>>
>>3911336
Granted, from a combat standpoint the Brick Phone is more or less useless, but as far as raw utility is concerned, there are only two cheats that come close and that's extremely debatable.
>>
>>3911336
Lie is our only wizard I think so you could try and get him to get some enchantments built onto your nokia and possibly add some defense enchantments onto your clothes. If he does you could essentially be our main tank. I forgot which manga it was but the tank was able to convert all the damage he took into a single attack
>>
>>3911342
Exactly, it doesn't give you any particular leverage over the call's recipient, just the chance to catch their ear for a chat.
>>
>>3911336
I know what you mean, although when you look at most of us the real power is going to be locked behind a timeskip or at least a lot of playtime. Excepting Death Perception of course because I can use it right away and it seems to be as broad or as precise as I need it to be at any given time. Universal communication and just having any kind of indestructible object is pretty legit though. If you get to absurd levels of skill as a rogue you could block planet cracking attacks with your phone.
>>
>>3911320
I’m back! I seem to have to have dozed off.
If we’re not going forward with the retcon then can we post our actions?
>>3911163
I can only manipulate velocity of things the stand touches and it currently has an E in everything so...
>>
>>3911345

What did my off-screen tutorial tell me
>>
>>3911357
Can it touch something once and have the velocity remain altered because if so we can do the plan later.

That is of course unless your stand needs to remain in constant contact and ride the object like Sex Pistols or something.
>>
>>3911353
I think we'll do short timeskips in-between threads, circumstances depending. If you're all settled in a village or some such until you run out of coin, we can skip a month of training and miscellaneous busywork, but if you're in the wilderness being pursued by a pack of freznied satyrs, there wouldn't be a skip.

>>3911357
Of course, please do.

>>3911361
Being a dire imp, your Strength and Toughness are only slightly reduced and you have no intrinsic elemental powers, but you feel confident that your strength and stature will only grow far beyond a human's in time. The presence of the priest and priestess fill you with mild terror and disdain you can't quite explain, and seeing the inexplicable earthquake stirred something primal.
>>
>>3911361
Essentially, your Strength and Toughness have only been reduced to Above Average and Average, as opposed to the Below Average and Low any other Imp type would've received.
>>
>>3911345
>>3911347
Both of these statements will be so delicious to re-read if my plan comes together
>>3911346
I can already imagine all of the gambits that can be set up with that sort of build
>>
>>3911374
You can even try things from the Rising of the Shield Hero anime/manga if you think your character can develop the skill set.
Personally, it's gonna be tough raising my stats but I'm aiming for the Old Man of the Mountain style from FGO.
>>
>>3911374
The real benefit to these abilities over any more conventional boost like a prestige class is their unbridled potential for bullshit shenanigans by virtue of being impossible and inscrutable. Your phone is the most durable thing that exists, I have an instinctual stream of insight on how to destroy anything from an individual to a concept, Dave will eventually become a god capable of reaming thermodynamics out of existence, pretty much all the cheats have amazing potential.
>>
>>3911372

And what did get increased in exchanged, whay buffs does an imp get
>>
>>3911009
>>3911014
Miracle witnesses absolute destruction and is conflicted, on one hand most of the enemies are gone and this was performed by the saints. On the other, The temple is completely destroyed and this doesn’t bode well for future relationships with the followers of Elivylon.
“I am not a pilgrim, if anything I am foreigner, but I swear I did not lie to you, I do want to help. I am deeply sorry for this but I know apologies alone won’t fix this, if there’s any way I can atone for this and help you forgive me let me know. But first...”
>Attempt to remember the vision of The Death Knight, was the golden staff three-pronged perchance?
>>
>>3911381
Aside from surviving the first few scuffles the main issue is figuring out what direction I want to take my character in. Given my stats and skills I’ve got several avenues open to me
>>3911388
This goes back to what I was talking about earlier, if we can keep this quest running for a decent amount of time, the entire world would pretty much feel like one big playground
>>
>>3911389
You get less strength nerfs to start and the promise that you will be a big boy in the future. Basically you're going to be a more physically imposing demon as time goes on. Where a demon is big, you are a giant, where a demon lord is a titan, you are a towering colossus.
>>
>>3911389
Dire entities are larger, hardier, and more aggressive than their ordinary counterparts, you receive a +1 RS (Rank Shift) to your Toughness when you're recovering from wounds and if you pass or fail a Willpower check, depending on the situation, you can enter a Berserk state, conferring a +1 RS boost to your Strength and Toughness, while rendering any sophisticated mental actions or attempts to flee at -3 RS difficulty until you can snap out of it.

>>3911388
>>3911403
I've said it before but I'll say it again, you aren't the only superhumans in training and once you hit the peak, there are some bridges that are difficult to cross. Rest assured, I'll keep it fresh.

Racial talents in our respective choice I believe. Plus since we're imps, I think we get the growth boost from being an inherently weak race. I don't know if we get evolutions but we don't have a limit cap? Especially since our cheat is based off of something like Kumo Desu Ga Nani Ka
If I wasn't an imp and ended up being a spider, I would've gone the Doflamingo route along with the big brother from Mission: Yozakura Family

>>
>>3911424
It is a Critical No, which can be catastrophically good or bad. Zombies are dangerous in groups.
>>
>>3911424
Probably? I've never met a system based off of 10d100s. I'm still searching around for info on Mythic RPG
>>
>>3911430
Oh yeah, this system works on a yes to no gradient rather than a success to failure. Either way I'm not to comfortable with the crit of Damocles hanging above my head.
>>
>>3911434
You can find the Mythic RPG here,
> https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/16173/Mythic-Role-Playing
It's not necessary to participate at all but well-worth the download. Not trying to shill, but it's on a sale right now. The RPG uses a d100 to determine, not a 10d100, but because several questions tend to turn up, it's exponentially more efficient to ask anons to roll 10d100s at once than to roll 1d100, update a little bit, and then ask them to roll again.
>>
>>3911414
So far we have matter, energy, the laws of physics, and divine intervention on our side. If things get crazy you’re going to need to throw reality warpers at us (or some really shitty circumstances) in order to keep the status quo going

>>
>>3911445
Well given that I can’t always rely on divine intervention for reasons that are obvious now more than ever, I need some other way of being useful than just praying all the time.
Speaking of which, a few words to prevent something like this happening again: If I don’t specifically say the word “pray” or “invoke” then I’m not asking St. Michael for help.

High-end adventurers, ancient monsters, and anything divine in origin are significant bullshit and not the least to worry about.

>>3911457
Duly noted. You aren't in a bad a position, because the worshipers of Elyvilon place forgiveness above all else, the fact that no-one died is a heavy mark in your favour, and you did, indirectly through Saint Michael, singlehandedly destroy a small horde of undead. If the three-pronged scepter of martyr's mourning was inside of the temple, there might have been a problem.

>>3911447
No, most Imps are unintelligent and rely on channeling elements that are essentially an intrinsic part of themselves. There are some cunning Imps, but they are the exception rather than the rule, and those are the ones that tend to rise to become something more than lowly cannon fodder and cheap labour. Your mental stats are unchanged but can be improved over time through various forms of meditation and study.
>>

Chin up lad, I'm sure the next group of aberrations to try to flay us alive will have a suitable mockery of a living soul for you to snack on.
>>
>>3911483
Well if the Grave Knight is doing a 180 then we should probably stack the deck as much as possible. We should probably find a way to relieve him of his mount first. The more forcefully we do it the better
>>
>>3911488
Btw OP, what point do you want me to join at?
>>
>>3911491
I'll port you into the next update.
>>
>>3911490
As usual, my mind is firmly on the eight zombies surrounding me, and I kind of wanted to to get that out of the way first.
>>
>>3911496
Time to pull a Ryougi Shiki
>>
>>3911496
I’ll join the fun if you need some backup but you’ll definitely be needed if we want to pull off any nasty surprises on our rapidly approaching friend
>>
>>3911497
Unfortunately, my power doesn't let me exploit invisible weak points for instant cutting death it just tells me the optimal way to kill things. Zombies are usually incredibly resistant to physical damage and incredibly difficult to kill outright with mundane weaponry but my power has revealed that destruction of the brainstem destroys their bodies.
>>
>>3911500
If you could pick off zombies in the back of the group to prevent them from overwhelming me that would be great.
>>
>>3911468

Good to know, thank you.

>>3911465

Gotta keep everything balance as all things should be.

>>3911473

Be bigger than civil wars.

>>3911476

But the undead don't have souls. Also i bet they taste bad.
>>
How the fuck do fantasy governments deal with cataclysmicly powerful casters?
>>
>>3911524
Simple. The cataclysmicly powerful casters are the one in charge.
>>
>>3911527
That just pushes the problem back a step.
>>
>>3911529
Even if they aren't in charge, they still probably work for the kingdoms for easier access to resources and things like that.
>>
>>3911537
I'm more talking about insane sorcerers who don't think rationally and unleash their destructive powers on vulnerable populations.

Now if you will excuse me I really need to sleep.

What timezone you in OP so I know when exactly to pop in? Also I'm a go a get some sleep so this is gonna be my last post. Today's session was fun!
>>
>>3911542
Why am I running towards the treeline instead of the established safe haven of the snowdrift?

>>3911543
I usually start posting at 12:00 PM, Central Standard Time

>>3911544
The snowdrift is behind the treeline but relatively close to the clearing. You are likely going to have some scars when this is said and done but when you're so severely wounded, being in close proximity to a priestess of healing is one of the best places to be.

I'm genuinely humbled.

>>3911680
As we all know, everyone posting on /qst/ is a gigachad of the highest calibre but that would make for an unbalanced game. Good on you for your honesty, if you hadn't wedged that rebar into the clutch of the combine harvester, who knows how much more damage it could have done?
>>
We should get the name of the guard captain of the nearest.settlement so we can get some support against this Death Knight. As much as I hate to admit it I don't think a rusty stilleto is going to do the job.
>>
>>3911778
Backup would be nice but if he really is returning back to the scene, he’s at his weakest right now. He has no idea what to expect, he has little to no manpower with him, and he isn’t fighting a conventional unified force. We aren’t likely to have those advantages against him again or at least anytime soon
>>
>>3911787
When he gets here, he's going to raise all of the corpses of the cultists and he's really tough on his own.
>>
>>3911789
That’s only if we let him get close enough and give him the time to do so
>>
>>3911778
We should probably get ourselves and the inhabitants of the temple to the nearest settlement they know. I can only call St. Michael for help so many times until it sounds like I'm too needy.
Note: I live in the UK which is GMT. GMT is CST +6 hence why I haven't been here for a while.
>>
>>3911792
The best plan would be to nuke him with spells before he gets the chance to activate his abilities. We could ambush him from behind the snowdrift while he investigates the chasm.
>>
In more immediate terms I'm going to see about getting healed by the Priestess and then we all need to deal with these zombies.
>>
>>3911698
OP, a question. Could you please tell me what I spells or magic powers I can use without calling for St. Michael? I would just like this to be clear so I don't make any impossible actions.
>>
>>3911798
That’s what I had in mind. We either jump him and blast like crazy from the safety of cover and concealment or just snipe him while he’s otherwise occupied
>>
Do any of you guys have any ideas for stuff to do during a timeskip? I've had some ideas regarding better utilizing my ability. I have this idea of gaining Death Count as an entirely new sense is a bit difficult to handle, like suddenly being able to see in ultraviolet or sense electromagnetic fields and as a result I currently need to consiously focus on comprehending and applying that information. I think I could train myself to process and apply this information instinctively and develop a kind of muscle memory for it. That way I could begin to do things like strike an object in just the right way to destroy it.
>>
>>3911869
I would probably train to improve my physical body and finding techniques to use with my stand (I didn't use it at all). I also want to learn a physical (non-magical) way of healing a person.
>>
>>3911869
I was gonna go have a Pint with Terry or Alex. Maybe try to find a way for us to make some money together... That or just mess around.
>>
>>3911881
You could block near any physical attack by canceling the speed, you could lock objects in place by setting the velocity to zero, you could run fast and jump incredible distances and live by speed canceling on the descentand throw small objects at the speed of bullets to name a few.

Really you should just use it as much as possible to increase it's stats.
>>
>>3911891
I could make a good informant with my ability. I'm sure there's money to be made in selling information about how to kill certain people or destroy certain places.
>>
>>3911869
Mostly theif stuff for quick cash, training my strength, and finding ways to enchant my dagger and Nokia. Ive already drawn up a few dozen ideas for each. I’ll also take up David on that drink offer
>>
>>3911904

>>
>>3911908

>>3911910
He’s still around, but he came late and only made a post or two during our first session
>>
>>3911911
>Sounds good to me
Don't be a faggot man at least try to talk it up to 70/30, 65/35. You'll be risking your life here, put more value in yourself. You're worth more than that.

Besides don't you have any dreams? Anything you want to do in the future? It's all about the money and resources. Without that you'll never be able to get them or best case you'll get left behind by people who have more than you.

>He’s still around, but he came late and only made a post or two during our first session
Damn, alright then.
>>
>>3911894
Great ideas, Chase. Maybe you should be the leader man.
As for slice of life things, I'm probably going to be raising money and resources to rebuild the Elivylon Temple (I mean, I was the one who destroyed it) and maybe find other people who trust St. Michael.
>>
>>3911918
Maybe I should have put Stand analysis on my skill sheet. As for me I really need to focus on getting good right now. Getting mauled like this has been a bit of a wake up call.
>>
>>3911917
The money doesn’t mean that much to me, the whole rogue thing was more so that I could play to my natural strengths and it would force me to be a bit more creative with how I solved problems. As for the future it all depends on what’s going on in the world. If I put my mind to it I could retire within six months but who wants to do that in a fantasy world? As I said before the money is mostly going to improving my utility and combat effectiveness. Besides, the more we put into your cosmic swap meet, the more value we get. If I were to ramp up my take we’d only get mundane things like platinum spears or an old Soviet tank
>>
>>3911934
Now that I’m actually thinking about it, we could actually get a lot of use out of a tank given our skill set
>>
>>3911934
Nah mate even with you robbing, theft's small time without lots and lots of money.

We need to start establishing contacts and setting up networks if we want to heist more important places and do better paying jobs.

You take the money you have to make more money but the more money you have the more money you can make.

Even then crime can only get you so much money. With the proper feel of the market and enough money it's easy to make money out of trading goods and investments. Even barring that we can make everyday items like Pens and Suspension systems for vehicles.

I'm not saying retire, I'm saying figure out how to get as much money as you can and do whatever the fuck you feel like. Wanna start a war? Money. Want to displace political figures? Money. You want a cute dog girl slave? Money.

Throw enough money at a problem and it'll go away but you need to always be thinking how to get MORE.
>>
>>3911940
Same with power really, at some point you hit a critical mass but you need to want it. Take as much as you can and be as greedy as you're allowed. Not to say be a dumb ass and bite off more than you can chew but never settle for enough.

God of chaos is watching and we need to always have too much rather than not enough.
>>
>>3911939
I'd prefer something lighter desu. Tanks need A LOT of maintenance and some IFV's pack just as much punch for lighter armor.
>>
>>3911950
They could take a lot of maintenance, or it could work on some kind of abstracted system. Things haven't been exactly hyperealistic.
>>
>>3911940
I’m not really a treadmill sort of guy, at a certain point all I want to do is just sit back and enjoy the silence of accomplishment. In the case of rapid, unremitting progression however, you have the right mindset
>>
>>3911950
All of that gets reduced to semantics once we make some creative adjustments
>>3911954
My point exactly there’s so much potential with such an idea that even an old junker could work wonders
>>
>>3911955
I've always been a complete personal freedom kind of guy. I want to be strong enough to do what I want and protect what I care about.

>>3911810
Sorcerers and priests both wield supernatural power but have several fundamental differences. The sorcerer's magic comes from the spark of sorcery in their soul that allows them to visualise spells and release them to produce specific effects, though sorcery is inherently chaotic and without an ironclad will or specific techniques, prone to varying from the user's intentions. Their magic is extremely potent and versatile but occasionally unreliable and has the chance to backfire.

A priest's power comes from their patron deity or in the case of polytheists or some specialty classes, deities. Their soul is inextricably connected to their patron and so long as they maintain their devotion and follow the tenets of their faith, they are entrusted with a fraction of their authority. This isn't raw power subject to mortal flaws and failings, this is the priest speaking with their authority to command the aspect of reality and those within it that the patron oversees or opposes to do as they see fit.

It is intrinsic to the priest's soul and can be brought at will, with no chance of variance or harm to the priest, if their faith remains unwavered and it is used in accordance with the patron's will. If a priest's channeling falters it's not the fault of the power gone awry, it's their own failure in ritual/chanting/zeal or the success of their target. The powers priests have access to are different from religion to religion, and sometimes from priest to priest, usually dependent on rank or sect. An occultist worshiping Thoth in the 18th century is going to have access to different knowledge than a high-priest at the apex of the Egyptian empire, and an acolyte of Pelor is going to be completely different from a priestess of Lamashtu.

What exactly is conferred depends on the portfolio of the patron in question. Saint Michael presides over opposition to the unholy, the weighing of souls, and the protection of the church. As his priest, you are capable of banishing unholy entities and energies to the hells or lower planes from whence they came, convicting the wicked to render them paralysed with guilt, and safeguarding your allies from poison, curses, and to a lesser extent, mundane wounds. Because Saint Michael is associated with Christianity, you may also attempt to heal wounds and prophesy, though nowhere near as competently as a priest of Raphael or The Most High/Ancient of Days/Elohim... etc.

>>3911960
Could work great yeah. Just replace the Engine with something that takes mana or some other shit.

OR we just throw money at an Artificer and design our own money fortress? Make it into our base and move around countries. Maybe do Kino's Journey and make a moving Country?

>>3911963
Yeah basically. Even if you're not using the power, if you're too mediocre to take your life into your own hands you might be forced to do things you don't want to.

That’s the pinnacle of human existence. Better to have complete control over your domain than to have to scramble to maintain an empire. Of course, Dave might have other plans that I’m unaware of that don’t involve political intrigue, monopolies, or dynasties
>>
>>3911971
Kidding, kidding, but the Cosmic Vending Machine doesn't much care about tech levels. If it's valuable, you'll get something equally valuable in return, completely devoid of your personal context. For a random example, a sack of gold might yield a single unicorn tear, a small sack of rubies, or a set of modern parts impossible to manufacture with a primitive industrial base.
>>
>>3911969
I’m not going to lie, the typo iteration of your idea sounded much cooler. Picture it: a fortress made entirely of gold coins. It would certainly be a marve to look at
>>
>>3911972
Nah I just wanna be able to do whatever the fuck I want honestly. I don't care about owning kingdoms or domains. MAYBE blackmailing kingdoms and domains to use their resources but tying myself down sounds boring but I wanna have contacts I can call on.

Mid Game I wanna grow my Stand and turn myself into a Necromancy Focus Thumaturge worshiping Frog Satan, Tsathoggua or Nyarlathotep.

Ahh shit now I wanna commission a mech.

I forgot to mention, you can develop a class over time but it takes an enormous amount of time and effort for no initial gain. Speccing into a second class is possible, but takes away from time you could be putting into achieving a much stronger specialty class.

Honestly I mostly want it for the army. Making an army up of
regular people is a pain in the ass. SOOO much logistics involved, I'd sooner blow my brains out.
Undead don't need any of that, you point they kill. Make some Wights every now and again, try to figure out a way to only use partial souls.
Boom easy army.
>>
>>3912005
Funny enough, there is a rogue specialty class centered around the use and to an extent, the manufacture of magical devices.

>>3912007
Fighting in melee is extremely risky, you can only endure -2 RS more damage before suffering a fatality. Remember, you have a wizard and two sorcerers.
>>
>>3912007
Just keep running Forest the Sorcerers aside, there's another Warrior that's armed and can probably do some damage.
>>
>>3912011
Well it's obviously contingent on how effective the healing is this round. If I'm in bad bad spot I'll do something less bold.
>>
>>3912007

>>3912010

Yeah but you don't wanna go full wunderwaffe with your army. They're the simple yet versatile tools I can use every day. Keep it simple, Skeletons and Wraiths. Mostly Cavalry if possible.

Sides, I'm sure people'll start getting pissy If I start making Witchfires and Attic Whispers. Plus can you imagine the maintenance on those thing?
Women and children are already a pain in the ass to deal with, make them into literal embodiments of hatred and pain and you've got the most annoying family ever.
>>
Tactically speaking, it's foolish to charge in one by one. It will be more effective to fight as a group, after applying as many buffs and shields as possible. Warriors and rogues in the vanguard, sorcerers and priests in the rearguard.
>>
>>3912030
It'd be REALLY fucking funny to launch a swarm of flying heads though. Can you imagine.

Damn, you can totally fuck shit up with that, even at E in everything. An E is equivalent to your own ability with a stat (E in range being slightly farther than arms, length E in durability being the same as your own body etc) so you can do pretty well with just your stand.

Miracle tells Miyashita that they are no pilgrims, but swears he told no lie and intended no harm. She looks at him, tears of grief welling in her eyes and sobs. "My uncle, cousin, and that harmless old scribe... They're dead now and the temple is gone. You saved the rest of us but they spent so long building it, I... I-I need some time." The priestess turns back, staring at the chasm and not registering the walking corpses.

Content that he's done what he can, the priest closes his eyes and concentrates on recalling the vision of the grave-knight. It comes clearly, as if inscribed into his memory by writ of the divine and so far as he's concerned, it very well might be. He furrows his brow and sees that the golden staff in the monster's grip does indeed have three prongs, but all else evades him.

Meanwhile, Chase is surrounded by unfeeling, furious corpses that want nothing more than to rip the flesh from his bones. Thinking fast, he tries to sprint where the imminent dead are thinnest but when a particularly well-fed farmer's corpse moves to tackle him he has to waste precious instants bringing up his shield to block. He reflexively stabs the zombie in the stomach but this does less than nothing as their sheer numbers begin pressing in, and though he fights with the fury of a man who does not want to be the one to leave Isekai-land fifteen minutes after arrival, it isn't enough.

The brave warrior is overwhelmed, forced onto the ground, and screams in denial of the corpses tearing into his ripcord bicep and chiseled midsection as much as any agony. This can't be it, not like this, but then- A chorus of wordless zeal rings over the moans and it isn't. Chase gasps in relief as the zombie trying to pry into his ribcage with dirty nails stands and staggers into the cultists of Elyvilon.

Instinct takes over and doesn't give him time to think as he stands, shouting in exhilaration derived from at least three different emotions, and sprints for the snowbank. He reaches it in time and before collapsing, turns to see two cultists whose arms are covered in bite wounds reached him, and farther away, into the center of the undead mass an old man has fallen into a berserk frenzy, hitting them again and again with his walking stick until it splinters on one's skull and the noise goes silent. "RAAAAGH!" *THWACK* *THWACK* *TH-CHK* *CRACK*

This sacrifice bought Chase the fifteen seconds he needed to survive, and he likely won't forget it any time soon. Off to the side, casually watching the skirmish and feeling a bit inspired, David compels [Dr. Strange] to attack the undead at a distance. After thirty seconds of deep focus, the Stand barely manages to light up one's head but his disappointment is short-lived as he screeches with rage in his mind and briefly manages to detonate the skull. Luckily, the classless combine harvester victim manages to dismiss the killer migraine that threatened to surge.

Not noticing the (very tiny) explosion over his shoulder, Chase staggers over to the priestess and moans in pain. Just like that, the trauma and loss keeping her frozen in place melts away, and before it can return she gets to work. Unfortunately, she's extremely stressed and stutters throughout several chants and despite laying on hands, can't get rid of the nauseating sense of sickness near the wounds. However, mundane needlework, disinfection, and bandaging is rote memory that no amount of personal struggle can bring them to forget.

When it's done, his head feels like it's floating on air and he can't seem to really pin anything down. The fact that the snow where he fell both in the field and in the snowbank is stained crimson isn't comforting, but nasty amount of bloodloss or no, he's still alive. Back by the chasm, Terry claps his hands and shouts various insults at the zombies devouring what's left of the martyr, but this does nothing but lure six more, less distracted cannibal corpses from a different angle. At least he manages to escape their hungry grasps.

The wizard would palm his face at the circus he's seeing if his efforts weren't instrumental to keeping it running. Lie's will is steel and when set into place, it shall not be easily moved. Three more shields manifest, going to Terry, Chase, Jake respectively. Simultaneously, he dredges the thought of a substantial barricade keeping their foes at bay and drawing back on years of experience he doesn't remember having, brings forth an invisible wall covering the hilltop and half again its length at both sides. If they go around it won't do much good, but it's bought precious time.

Next to him, Miracle grabs a stone, does his best impression of a baseball pitcher, and after [Speed Demon] taps it with his index finger, flings it at wind-whistling speeds straight into a zombie's skull. It doesn't explode so much as it punches inward and the liquefied brain sloughs out of the cracks. Nasty, but at least some of his party seems to appreciate the technique.

Off behind the trees, Alex sits crouched with his claws to either side, droning on "Ooooommm... Ooooommmm..." in a stereotypical approximation of meditation. The monosyllabic whispering actually does help and for the five minutes it has to happen the session is quite calming. When he feels two eyes are on him, he opens his and sees the healer, who seems tense and a bit thrown off by his presence. It's probably a good thing he didn't end up as a wisp. "A-are you a demon? What are you doing with these people?!?"

Far away from the commotion, a confused shadow imp with thief skills they don't remember having crawls out of the temple's chasm. The last thing they really remember were getting in a combine harvester and... Ugggh.

>>3912656
Correct, the mention of some deities nauseates or repulses demons, others leaves them a bit envious or rarely, somewhat appreciative of their work. Intuition usually applies to puzzling out whether people, places, things, or objects are good (safe/profitable) or bad (dangerous/worthless), introspection and finding more about yourself and what you can do falls into Wisdom's purview.

For lack of a better word, you do eventually level up your class and have a list to choose from, but learning from a specific mentor or group of mentors can help you unlocked specific specialty classes a bit quicker. For example, a Thief's Mafia or Wizard's Academy, etc.

It should go something like set the scene, then one (or on occasions two) actions per person with major dialogue tied to actions, and then have OP relay the results,. Then he sets the scene again based on the results, and have the cycle continue.

Chase close his eyes, struggling to meditate on his death count cheat and pauses. The slow sickness seeping into his bones is too much to take. He mentions this to the priestess, who, somewhat flustered by Alex's language, apologises to the demon and turns her attention to banishing the negative energy from Chase. "D-demonically challenged? I-if you say but I've never heard of such a thing..."

It takes her what feels like an eternity of indescribable agony while she separates the dark essence from his soul but she's quick to explain. "Normally wounds heal on their own, but so much of this can cause... rotting, feelings of depression, and thoughts of suicide in the living. It's all so terrible and I don't know why anyone would try to control it!" Chase can recall at least one person that would gladly take on the mantle of necromancer if the chance came up.

While this is going on, Terry deftly maneuvers through the field, catching the zombie's attention with theatrical waves of his arms and luring them away from the snowbank as he practices his newfound skill of staying ever-so infuriatingly out of reach. David witnesses his struggle and endeavours to end it, by shouting at the top of his lungs and directing [DOOHCTA STRANGEEUUUUU] to freeze the undead in time!

When this doesn't work, [DOOHCTA STRANGEEUUUUU] shrugs and throws everything he has into freezing the zombies directly. This leaves them completely unharmed and some part of David is left wishing that they were fighting living opponents. Near the front of the treeline, the seven undead swarm toward the members of the party huddled in the snowbank but when Miracle rises and utters a latin chant he doesn't recall ever memorising, five collapse, put back into their eternal rest where they stand.

Slightly impressed and relieved that it wasn't another earthquake, Miracle rushes to the side, grabs a handful of pebbles, and commands [Speed Demon] to enhance their velocity. He does his best but they're only spinning in his hands, not shrieking through the air. Even so, the priest refuses to let perfectly good pebbles go to waste and flings them against the back of a corpse trailing Terry. It turns, a little disoriented, then begins shuffling toward him in a stance not dissimilar to most daytime drinkers after dark.

Over by the chasm, Anon, self-proclaimed Knight, shadow imp, and professional rogue crawls onto the snow, then screeches in terror as he's lifted off the ground and grappled by three random zombies. Searching for something, anything he could do to escape, he tries to hide inside of himself and vanishes in a faint plume of black smoke. When he looks around, he sees a pitch-black maze that's murky even to his many-times enhanced night vision but whispers all around-

>"FORSAKE THE HOLY LIGHT, FORSAKE THE HOLY LIGHT-"
>"CAUGRIM THE VIVISECTOR IS PATHETIC, END HIS SHAME-"
>"WOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO-"

-are trivially easy to shove into the background noise of his mind. Still, this isn't quite the ideal situation and this maze seems a bit familiar but it's not where he thinks he should be. So, not knowing what else to do, he walks about five paces to the right, then tries to come out of the hiding place. There's another plume of smoke, and one smokin'- "A-another demon? Healing maiden preserve us!"

Anon stares as the priestess traces a three-pointed circle over her bosom, slightly perturbed until he sees the meditating dire imp along with clockwork-looking Jojo Stand, and hears banter being shouted back and forth. Ah, these must be the other Isekai victims, which means the zombies are... There's no doubt or hesitation as he draws his (conveniently resized) sword, sprints into the field, half-esctatic, half-terrified from almost dying earlier and slashes the closest undead's thigh in two before running back.

Back in the trees, Alex was about to whip out some serious sorcery but the sudden appearance of a second demon and mild disdain toward the symbol Miyashita's tracing throws off his concentration. All of these distractions are infuriating and he's starting to wonder if his claws or a decent-sized rock wouldn't do a better job.

I’m not really using enchantments to make the phone viable for combat, I’ll mostly be expanding on its communication and logistical capabilities.

However, I have two enchcantments planned that will allow me to harm or otherwise impede enemies. The first one is simple, I’ll find a way to adjust the length and width of the phone, allowing me to use it as an invincible club or bat. The second involves tampering with the Call recipients mind, causing psychic damage and confusion.

Most combat oriented enchantments will be used on my knives

Filled with sudden inspiration, David whispers into Chase's ear and when the warrior's taken half a second to process what he wants to do, he nods and gripping the scabbard, proffers the handle to the bare sky. [Dr. Stone] wraps his claws around the pommel, pulls it from the sheath with an almost disturbing finesse, and proceeds to lick and sniff it. A mischievous glint in the eyes of his shoulder and torso indicates this is more than idle curiosity but he takes to his assigned task with feral tenacity.

He floats into the middle of the zombie pack chasing Terry, and in the next near minute and a half, it is as if a levitating sword wielded by a distant, drunken sorcerer was set among them. There is speed and power in his strikes equal to, if not modestly superior to the average man's, but no finesse or technique whatsoever. Even so, the undead are barely able to pe
