So you were just previously hanging out in the library minding your business until suddenly you found a strange book. Out of curiosity you decide to read it as it talks about the legend of the four heroes.

Wielding the weapons of Sword, Shield, Spear and Bow, these heroes have been tasked with saving the world from the threat of the waves. Sound simple enough...or at least that's what you thought before getting pulled into the book.

Now you're currently in a dark room with three others who just like you were pulled into the book. From the brief rundown, you know that this is the kingdom of Melromarc and like it or not you are indeed one of the four heroes.

With that in mind, which of the four weapons has chosen you? First comes first serve for Team Anon.

The legendary bow. Stay at range at all times.

I'd like to keep it close to the original setup as possible. But if enough people push for it, I can go with the Seven Star weapons team being a thing at the start instead.

I have, but at the rate we're going, I might as well be calling this the Seven Star Heroes team considering how many people want to fist their enemies.

>>3462616
Idea: hold a sub-vote for either the four main weapons or the alternate weapons (whip, punching, etc).
If you consider the full set of votes, there are similar numbers for the categories. Then once we pick a category, people can more easily group up on their preferred weapon. Right now the votes are way too scattered.
>>
>>3462629

Might be for the best to make that official and more condense.

Are you on Team Legendary Weapons or Team Vessel Weapons?

The ones who have the most vote will be what the group will be aligned to. Afterwards, we'll decide the weapons.

I think from this and the votes above, I got enough to continue with what I had originally structured.

I'm going to orchestrate the groups as Teams for legendary items. Those who want to help manage the legendary hero of that chosen weapon will be on that team.

To those who want to be a Vassel Weapon or just a regular party member, you'll get your chance to do so.
>>
>>3462876
I say we should run one guy, but I'm voting spear like I did earlier. The first response was from my phone.
>>
>>3462264

After much mental discussion from within your subconscious, the legendary weapon that best fit you has appeared itself out of the four choices. The other weapons have also went to their respective wielders almost at the same time.

The next time you open your eyes, you would have seen yourself being directed by the mages that summoned you. It would take a long walk to reach the palace but it gives enough time to grasp the beauty that is Melromarc, more specifically Castle Town.

Team Sword, Team Shield, Team Bow and Team Spear.

Do you choose to interact with one another?

Keep to yourself and observe the surroundings ?

Try and grasp your Legendary Weapon ?

Or Something else?
>>
>>3462902
>Try and grasp your Legendary Weapon ?
Sword.
>>
>>3462881

If enough people prefer that instead, then I will go with that direction and ask out of the majority which of the 4 legendary weapons one wants the most for this run.
>>
No one vote for a magic wand or staff...
>>
To have unity, I will go Sword.
>>
>>3462902
I'd prefer to all play one character, but I also want to use the bow.
>>
>>3462881
>>3462906
Can we get some discussion happening to try and reach a consensus? What are your reasons for wanting to use the spear or the sword?
Personally I'd go for the bow since it has the greatest utility in an isekai situation. We can maintain range and kite melee enemies to protect ourselves, interrupt mages at range without having to worry about maintaining our own mana, and given that it's a legendary weapon attuned to our soul, I don't think we have to worry about the traditional issues of ammunition and so-on. Of the four weapons, the bow seems to be the most useful and versatile. Thoughts?
>>
>>3462950
Spear would give us reach and still allow kite tactics. A sword is more of a moral symbol and raw power. Shield is well, a shield.

We wont consider the bullshit of the Legendary weapon's special abilities over eachother.
>>
>>3462950
Swords are cool.
>>
>>3462965
In terms of reach, I'd definitely say the bow is superior. As for the sword being a symbol, isn't effectiveness more important that appearance?
>>
>>3462980
Do you not wanna assemble a war band to charge into the Waves by our side?
>>
Just one protagonist, thanks.
Bows are the traditional weapon of nobility and royalty. Get the legendary bow.
>>
>>3462988
I'd rather have them charge in in front of us than by our side, frankly.
>>
Alright so I'm getting the feeling that you guys prefer one Protag. That's fine. Either way, majority vote will decide the legendary weapon you lot wield and we'll continue from there.
>>
I gotta laugh now though. Even though the series proved to us the Shield is powerful in its own right, no one is willing to play it in the quest.
>>
>>3463023
I don't want to just repeat the original MC's life.
>>
>>3463032
Well you know what we will do when she is within 5 feet of us when she betrays us. Unlike Mr. Naofumi, we'd kill her dead.
>>
>>3462950
I'd say spear. Spears have good reach in melee simply by way of being a polearm, and they can also be thrown if the situation calls for it. It's not hard to imagine getting an effect where the spear returns when used as such.

>>3462989
>Bows are the traditional weapon of nobility and royalty.
No idea where you're getting that from.
>>
>>3463073
You are right there, the Bow was seen as bullshit to knights and the Crossbow was made illegal. People even FOLLOWED IT.
>>
>>3463013
Spear.
>>
>>3463085
To end this I'm shifting to Spear.
>>
>>3463073
From most of human history. Persia, Babylon, Assyria, the steppe peoples of the near east, China, Korea, Japan...
You even have his ability to use a great bow showing up as proof of Odysseus' right to rule in Ithaca. It wasn't until medieval Europe that swords really came into style as a "noble" weapon.
>>
>>3463084
Well, the crossbow was made illegal as long as you weren't fighting infidels, actually.
If you were crusading and shit, then it was fine and dandy.
>>
>>3463100
Swords never were noble weapons, quite the contrary.
In fact, they were more of a commoner or bourgeois' self defense weapon than a nobility one and almost never used in actual warfare.
>>
>>3463110
Interesting. Are you in the bow camp, then?
>>
>>3463114
Nah, miss me with that gay Anglo shit. Gotta go for the spear not only because it's the objectively superior weapon but almost (mostly) because of all the sexual innuendos we can make!
>>
I don't really care about what's the most noble, but I still maintain that being able to consistently outrange the opponent gives the bow the most utility.
>>3463073
What about rapid fire? A skilled archer can put multiple arrows into the air in quick succession, but you can't do that with a spear.
>>
>>3463128
You can just... stab them a lot.
>>
>>3463125
>Anglo
That's your main association with the bow, really? Even if you refuse to look outside of Europe, the mongols and huns did far more with bows than the english.
>>
>>3463128
You can just fucking thrust it into things and make them die, tho.
Not to mention not dying if they happen to get close to you.
Spears are good at letting you not being hit which is objectively better than bows that are only good at hitting people.

Arrows have neither a sufficient range, firing rate or stopping power to counter the possibility of melee meaning we'd have to rely entirely on bodyguard to not get our ass kicked.
>>
>>3463142
If we're talking about medieval Europe (which is what most fantasy setting essentially are set in) then yeah, the Godon is the most fitting exemple for archery like the Franco is the most fitting one for cavalry even if the guns were good at both.

Tbh, Turks would be a better exemple for your point than huns and Mongols because they actually sticked around instead of doing a single invasion before then almost immediately (at least in a world scale) collapsing.
>>
While I am firmly in the Spear camp because I want melee, I will mention we could use numerous bodyguards to prevent their advancement. I just find it badass to use the a spear.

Hell, I wanna absorb a 15-25 foot pole and just stab them from there.
>>
>>3462902
Since I'd forgotten to, I vote for spear
>>
>>3463100
The bow is also the weapon of Paris, who is denied pretty much any glory or valor in the Iliad. Sparta specifically reviled the bow as a coward's weapon.
Regarding swords as "noble" weapons: for the most part, medieval warfare was fought with polearms and bows by peasants. Knights and mercenaries used swords because they had armor. While not as popular as polearms, swords (especially the big boys armored people would use) are undeniably versatile weapons, and if it's hard for you to get wounded by peasant shit you can afford to try something a little different.

>>3463128
True, but bows still take a few seconds to draw each shot, so it's not really that fast.

>>3463141
>>3463148
In all fairness, I think anon's addressing spears as a throwing weapon.
>>
>>3463148
Seems like we have a fundamental disagreement about the capabilities of a legendary bow. I think the range, fire rate, and stopping power will depend on our ability to level, personally.
>>
>>3463165
You are right, but it follows the same path as every other weapon. I mean, spoiler alert, the Spear has a 'Return by Death' ability.
>>
>>3463169
If you are wondering where, its in a spin-off series that is cannon.
>>
>>3463023
>>3463032
>>3463071

If nothing else This shield hero will have more utility than the actual canon's attempt to try and gimp him to be either defense/heal boy or O MY RAGING SHIELD even with the introduction of Ki and other methods.

So far I see Spear and Bow going neck and neck, with spear having the slight edge in numbers.
>>
I'm really not sure how this quest is going to work, given that much of the initial story hinges on each hero and all the royalty being dickwads and idiots.
>>
>>3463179
I don't even know the original story. I just showed up because the premise sounds interesting.
>>
>>3463179
It will be interesting for sure.

>>3463177
Current numbers are

Bow: 2
Spear: 4
Sword: 2
>>
>>3463179
>>3463184

The main plot will go as intended only that I will try to write in a means that's not insulting to the reader. But there will be some divergence, especially since from the look of it nobody wants to be the shield hero.

So you don't need to read the story to play along.
>>
>>3463190
Sword. Shield hero is gonna be key for the future and Spear hero is the useful sort of fool that we can manipulate. Sword and Bow are both assholes that I couldn't care less about, so let's take one of their places.
>>
>>3463190
So many terrible things will be avoided just because we're not absolute assholes.

I mean, it's good that we aren't the shield with how much railroading that would involve, but the spear hero gaiden shows how much you can diverge the plot with just words and no planning.

>>3463188
I'm late to the party so I'm fine with whatever.
>>
So its
Spear: 4
Sword: 3
Bow: 2
Shield: Fuck it.
>>
>>3463213

Seems like it, I don't count fine with whatevers. That's not a real vote to me.

Thanks for keeping track btw.

>>3463204

Shit is gonna happen, but rather if it's your fault or not will be the case. Still, from the looks of it you lot are probably gonna be reactive rather than proactive.
>>
>>3463215
Reaction is the nature of Quests. Unless we abuse (Write in) its gonna be reactionary.

I really wanna get a militia in this though. We just need to figure out how the Group mechanics work.
>>
>>3463213

If nobody doesn't come up later, i'm probably gonna stick with Spear to keep the ball going.

Sorry Bow and Sword fans
>>
>>3463335
Eh. Majority is the rule, after all. Guess folks don't share my dream of playing as isekai Legolas.
>>
>>3463348

Legolas is too good for LoTR.

Anyway, to repeat with some changes.

You soon find yourself within the audience of the King and his merry staff of knights and soldiers in this fine throne room. Each of of the heroes chosen stand next to each other in an orderly line up fashion.

How do you respond Spear Hero ?

Introduce yourself first?

Keep quiet and look at the surroundings ?

Mess with your menu bar/Weapon ?

or Something else ?
>>
>>3463360
Kneel before the king in our best attempt at proper courtly etiquette, then introduce ourself.
>>
>>3463364
Keep quiet and look at the surroundings ?
>>
>>3463364
Best way to piss off a king is to stand around like a chump when you meet him. Bow or kneel or whatever, but make a good introduction.
>>
>>3463232

Based on previous Quest threads, it's most likely the voting system/majority rule format.
>>
>>3463365
>>3463379
Like they said, we kneel. And because I can say it, our name:

John Smith
>>
>>3463364
>Introduce yourself first?
>>
>>3463396
What are we, Kyon? If we're going to name the character, let's come up with something more interesting than "John Smith."
>>
>>3463364
Kneel and introduce ourselves as Cho Un (Maybe not our real name, but we loved our Dynasty Warriors games)
>>
Before Addressing the king, it's probably best to come up with a name less you want to go with "John Smith."
>>
>>3463415
If we're going that route, then we should go with Lu Bu.

>>3463420
Do we know what nationality we are, or is that up to us?
>>
>>3463415
Or maybe Sei, since that rolls off the tongue a little better
>>
>>3463429

Up to you. The boring answer would be to automatically assuming you're of asian decent. Majority will decide that for me.
>>
I honestly want a western name for him, just because we can. Constantine.
>>
>>3463429
But Chinese names are just so awkward to say
>>
>>3463420
Cu, there's your scot/gaelic descent.
>>
>>3463420
Suggestions:
To follow up on red's anglo-american suggestion, William Armitage
For a more mythological bent, following up on the spear thing, Orestes Achilleid
Francophone: Charles Vaisset
Irish: Dermot Conmara
Germanic: Theodric Audamar
Thoughts?
>>
>>3463472
I like William Armitage, but lets change his last name to William Spearhopper.
>>
>>3463472
No generic Western names, so William and Charles are immediately out
>>
Fine, Dermot sounds nice.
>>
>>3463483
>Spearhopper
What? Is that a joke?
>>
>>3463490
Yeah...
>>
>>3463472
>Irish: Dermot Conmara
I like the first name, but the surname definitely needs revision. Also, I'd prefer to use the actual Gaelic spellings of names rather than their anglicizations (for Dermot, it's Diarmait). Gimme a minute to think of something for the surname.
>>
Another Irish suggestion, and my personal favorite: Flaithrí Gallchobhair
>>
>>3463507
Who says we need a surname? A single personal name is enough. Just Dermot, or Orestes, or Vaisset, etc.
>>
>>3463514
Life. The world. People have surnames, and we're meeting a king. In many medieval cultures, a surname was the minimum sign of nobility. Do we want to present ourselves as a quasi-nameless peasant?
>>
>>3463514
We are just some person from Medival times so we don't even have a surname.

If we need one why not 'Gath'.
>>
>>3463519
Does it matter? The king would (and should) know better than to antagonize one of the handful of people he relies on for his kingdom's survival, regardless of his social status
>>
>>3463514
>>3463521
This >>3463519
If we're of Irish descent, then we should make an effort to sound as minimally shitpeasant as possible, since heritage isn't doing us any favors.

>>3463521
>We are just some person from Medival times
Since when?
>>
>>3463526
Case in point against this, Shield Hero.
>>
>>3463521
We're not "some person from medieval times." We're a legendary hero summoned from another world. We want to make an impression on the royals that we're a person of some importance.
>>
>>3463530
Pretty sure as far as the king is concerned, the Shield Hero is not necessary for the kingdom's survival.

I'd be very happy with any name or no name as long as we get done with character creation.
>>
>>3463528
>>3463532

Its a joke.

Anyway,
>Dermot Gathic

Thats my final one.
>>
>>3463530
Shield Hero was a special case because the kingdom didn't really see the Shield Hero as a true Hero like the other three
>>
>>3463510
How about Flaithrí Ó Ruairc?
>>
>>3463546
That would work, definitely.
I also just put together Séaghdha Caomhánach as another possible Irish name. Thoughts on that?
>>
>>3463555
I like it, but it's just unfair to ask people who don't know how to pronounce that. Should probably stick with Flaithrí.
>>
>>3463546
So we can end this I vote on this name. Flaithri seems pretty easy to write.
>>
>>3463438
>>3463420
I like Spearchucker as our name. It's pretty funny.
>>
>>3463565
Alright, Flaithrí Ó Ruairc it is then. Let's get to the introduction proper.
>>
Did we really need 30+ posts just to figure out a name

>>3463546
second this, let's go
>>
>>3463546
Anglicize it for simplicity's sake. Florence O'Rourke
>>
>>3463546
I don't know jack about Irish names but I'm guessing there's some deep meaning to it, either way I'll support it.
>>
>>3463576
Oh come on now. No way.
>>
>>3463576
Or this.
>>
>>3463584
The Irish spelling system is weird and counterintuitive. You can't expect people to know how it's actually pronounced in its native form
>>
>>3463576
If you wanted to anglicize it, it would be Flurry O'Rourke. I don't particularly want to, but it's up to the QM.
>>
>>3463589
But it looks better on the page in its native form. This is the written word we're dealing with.
>>
>>3463589
We can always make fun of people who cant pronounce our name.
>>
>>3463590
Even better
>>
>>3463365
>>3463379
>>3463396
>>3463415

Not going to lie, seeing you guys struggle for 30+ post for a name is hilarious. This is gonna be a good time.

You are the first to kneel down to the king, surprising not only the King and co but also your fellow heroes as well.

Naturally each of them would take suit to kneel as well with the shield hero being the last to make the mark. The King accept this act of respect, commanding you lot softly to rise.

You give out the name Flaithrí Ó Ruairc as the first. But it seems that several people ended up simplifying it to Florence/Flurry O'Rourke in order for easier communication much to your disdain. What you do tell of them is that you are a college student, either 19 or 21 years old. A rather plain yet decently attractive male.

[yellow]"I am the Bow Hero Lucien Ainsworth, but you can call me Lucas. 18 Years old, Senior Year in High School."[/yellow]

" I am Riku Kuromiya, 17 Years old, High School Junior."

"I am Nicholas:Irving. 20 Years old, College Student."

Each one announce themselves in a different way. The Bow hero being the most refine and polite. The Sword Hero being reclusive and straightforward. While the Shield Hero was slightly relaxed yet self conscious, especially compared to the other two.

Either way, the king is mainly pleased with the introduction. He goes to start explaining about the nature of the world and why you lot were summoned.

>>
What's up with this menu thing? Did I miss Turtle saying we've got an RPG interface, or something?
>>
>>3463731

It's based on a isekai series...so yes it has RPG interface. Everyone else is jumping the gun.
>>
>>3463731
whoops, looks like I got a little mixed up with a similar quest. But still, in the manga the other heros seemed to catch onto the RPG mechanics a lot quicker than Naofumi
>>
>>3463731
We've got a Standard Isekai Faux MMO RPG interface.

It'll have stats, bag of holding, party menu, and even a limited Help menu. Strictly speaking, only the stats section is truly necessary to run the story: there are simply too many different abilities/alternate weapon forms to juggle without it, but OP here is going to run the whole gamut.

>Listen to his story?

>>3463716
Yes. Names of places across the country have received this very treatment thanks to the English.

Indeed, we've been isekaid and there are some RPG mechanics involved. Those should come along pretty soon so don't worry too much about it.
>>

You decide to listen to the story despite being a rather long and drawn out history lesson. So much that you think that this sound like the prologue to some sort of roleplaying Video Game.... Speaking of which.....

By sheer boredom you manage to notice something floating above your sight. It seems like some sort of interface icon. As you focus your attention to it, you find yourselves being mentally showed with interfaces and different menu options out of nowhere. Things like stats, invetory, party menu and a bunch of other stuff that was coming on these RPG systems were all in total access to your heart's desire. It was going to take a while for you to really sit down and figure every single function that you have access currently. From the gist of it, you believe that this world operates similar to some sort of video game. Perhaps that is how you are able to understand everyone in the room without knowing the languages they spoke. Regardless. this was certainly a helpful surprise.

To make a long story short, you manage to skim down to the meat of the explanation. You are in one of the seven kingdoms inhabiting the continent. This kingdom is called Melromarc, and much like the rest of the world it is a prosperous place that is currently in threat from a catalytic threat. An old apocalyptic prophecy dating from over centuries. Nobody currently living not sure how long it has been, but ever since there has been a sequence of encourages of destructive force. These calamities were to be eventually called "Waves" For the Melromarc Kingdom, they have just previously experience their first wave. But many of them have experienced it far longer than the others, giving them more experience. Something that ended up underestimating it and suffered greatly for their overconfidence.

These dangerous events are predicted and monitored by a powerful device called the Dragon's Hourglass. Every country has one of these ancient hourglasses, alerting them of the dangers. If the waves's calamities aren't stopped proper then the world will ultimately come to an end. With the power of the Dragon's Hourglass, the kingdoms are able to keep track, but overtime it it'll only worsen unless they're all taken care of.

The only ones who can truly take care of the waves are the Four Heavenly Heroes....but there is also the Heroes of the Seven Stars. In time you will come to know each of them, but for now you four are the Heavenly Heroes.

You are the first one to speak up about the "Status". Surprising the King himself as he was about to explain to the heroes about the status.

"Status? Rather presumptuous to speak about it before the king told us directly. But for now I'll have to take your word on it. - Lucas

"Here I thought I was the only one who picked that up. You aren't half-bad....Flurry." - Riku

"Huh, So things like this are possible? This world gets more and more unbelievable! Still, thanks for the info dump Flaithri." - Nick

"Ahem. Thank you Sir Florence for saving me the trouble of explaining status magic, a thing that everyone can do. Now we can begin to move on to the next step. As you notice that each of you are at level 1. It is regrettable but it can't be helped. So to compensate for this, I will personally use my royal power to provide you heroes exactly what you need. At the same time, we only have a month before the next wave. Of course you have to train and recruit party members on your own. For the Four Heavenly Heroes cannot improve the development of your divine weapons. It is the nature of these sacred weapons that being around less than 500 feet at least will hinder each other. "

"Guess it can't be helped. We are the chosen ones to save the world, so we should have a proper relationship with one another. How pray tell we keep together anyway? Also, I'm heading to the west.- Lucas "

"So long as you don't try to slow me down I can accept an occasional means of communication. I'm thinking of heading to the east once I stocked up supplies." - Riku

"You're really thinking that far ahead....Well sure I'll be glad to keep in contact. But...I have to agree with Lucas in how we're gonna keep track. I mean there's carrier pigeons but I don't think they would be as effective." - Nick. Not sure on a direction myself, but I'm probably gonna stay near the kingdom so south I guess.

It seems that the group is mostly in sync with one another....despite conflicting personalities. The lone wolf Riku, the strategical yet egotistical Lucas, and the laid back yet innocent and good nature Nick. Then there's you added to the mix....well at least things won't be boring.

"My heroes, we have the usage of telepathy and items like the crystal balls to keep in contact. If you so need it, we can provide you with means of communication between one another. That said, you are free to spend the night here as we round up resources to provide the best party/treatment we can offer. " - King Aultcray Melromarc XXXII.

As you listen to the King's offer, you take notice of the nobles in the area. A good number of them were reserved, almost like they were in their own little world. There were obvious cases of brown nosing with some of the others. While on the knight side there were plenty of noble knights, strong musclebound fighters, and the general foot soldiers you would be expected to see in video games like this.

However, there were a few noticeable people in the crow. A woman with beautiful red hair and green eyes, perhaps the most beautiful person in the entire palace. Then there was another woman, a rather refined business looking woman, clearly a secretary or boss lady if we're comparing it to your original world. She has medium length brown hair and charming red eyes.

There was a dude in a suit of armor who was clearly full of himself next to a bishonen looking mage. Of course on the other side there was also a woman who was oddly enough wearing a chinese dress with medium length green hair and golden eyes. There were some other good pics but these so far seem like the cream of the crop.

Common sense tells you that someone who looks responsible and business like is way more valuable than someone who is pretty.

"Hm? Oh why it's one of the four Heavenly/Cardinal Heroes. My name is Elene Haven, a pleasure to meet you Sir Florence. "

You briefly share a witty exchange of words, gathering interest from the noblewoman. The questions you feel like you couldn't ask the King personally come flooding in with Elena.

"You certainly are quick to the point...interesting. Well I can answer stuff like local geography, populations, monster location and everything else in time. Unless you want a lengthy explanation right now? Otherwise, I think the more pressing matter for you is establishing a dependable party. So you should take the king's offer and stay for the night. At the very least I'm sure he'll give you some coinage to survive. Although...I assume there's other means of rounding up a party outside of the king's assistance."

The practicality and rationality is just oozing from this one but more importantly she looks to be a very trustworthy individual. A strong-minded woman with a sense of responsibility.

>>
>>3464235

At the start level does not matter because you will be molded into a powerful fighter. The only limit is one's mind in that instance.
>>
>>3464235
>Ask her to join your party
sure, she's in

How big is the party supposed to be? Right now I'm thinking:
>Noble Knight, depending on how what type of Duty they uphold
>Regular foot soldier who we'll reclass to something else in time
>Elena
>A ranged unit, either archer or mage
>A criminal from the castle, explicitly not to be trusted.
>>
>>3464258
Personally I'd say we want:
>Knight, defense-focused fighter.
>Elena, personal assistant/advisor
>Mage (Offensive)
>Priest (White Mage? Not sure how healing magic works in this setting.)
I don't think we really need a foot soldier or criminal, personally.
>>
>>3464267
foot soldier can replace the knight, pending any particular moral, dogmatic, or tactical differences with how these knights do things.

Criminal is to get a well-rounded perspective of the kingdom. If he does something dumb and gets himself killed, that's pretty much convenient for everyone. If he's got a point.....well, we'll have to see.

"hwha? You want me to join your party?!? Well...I suppose you got good taste to acknowledge my worth. So I suppose I have to respect that faith by accepting. So you know I like capable people and so far you're shaping up to be just that Sir Florence."

At first taken by surprise by your bold declaration, but it was enough to charm the dependable Elena Haven to your party.

"Now then, as I was saying. There are other ways to obtain party members aside from the king's boom. There's recruiting the traditional way like posting an advertisement on an adventuring guild or spreading the word. Then there's hiring members from other organizations, including the military with your status as a hero.

Of course....there's hiring the controversial....say slaves or prisoners. Slaves require money but...don't say that you heard this from me...but there's a few slave trades in castle town. As for prisoners, I'm sure you can use your image to pardon harden criminals into your care for the sake of saving the world."

Already she's earning her keep, and you didn't even ask her what sort of skills she has. Still, now that there's other options to pick for party members, what exactly do you choose to do?

You're thinking too mundane. Magic is involved so the damn thing slices way further than it's reach should let you.

"Balloon and Eggung among other balloon species for example sell for lots of money, especially the Eggung. Then there's the rarer monsters like dragons, chimeras, nue, and other mythical creatures that really pitch for a lot of money. The trading center at the northwest of the city is the merchant paradise for business, so I would go there to make the most of the money. As for items, healing items are the most practical in trying to make lots of money so you should look into herbalist or alchemy to know which plants or other resources to make for the best potions. I should know since I'm the daughter of a wealthy mer-...know what never mind."

To avoid opening that door, she points you directly to where you should for the knights. She pointed out which one were just in it for the glory, steering you away from the pompous and egotistical knights of nobility. Rather suggesting you directly to more wholesome knights, like those who priority the people rather than their status. Some dude without any actual political power does something that should cause a world war and just about everyone in the palace goes along with that shit when they're the ones that are gonna be getting getting brutally and publicly tortured and executed?
Raphtalia being a slave was a plant/keikaku test but they couldn't be bothered to save her friend that would render needing heroes utterly useless for saving the world?
The finished timeline is already a nonsensical clusterfuck before he exits the castle

>>3463541
Not quite. It's generally known that any of the heroes actually dying is a complete disaster which is why they make them lv 1 as a punishment instead. The same idea still applies to the shield. The dude shat on shield hero, but he didn't actually bother trying to kill him.

"R-Right! Well this is the land of Melromarc and the capital city is Castle Town . It's where we are currently. It's a booming city with lots of options and the regulars are mainly wholesome people. ..However...."

She's hesitate to say anything else given where they are currently standing. You get the feeling if you want to learn more you would have to talk to her in a more private and seclude area.

"A-Anyway, the knights are the captials main defenders as well as a high ranking position in this country. The Royal knights especially are the cream of the crop who protect the royals at the center of castle town. But there's many lesser knights and templars that help the other places."

From what you gather the rankings are mostly the same in medieval Europe. But she went on to explain further about the level system. How it governs the aspects of a person such as their attributes and skills. There's a cap off at 40 which require a class upgrade which can only be achieved through the Dragon's mirror. Heroes like yourself don't have such limitations.

"As for my name. My name is Aden...and I''m....welll I'm a defender/tank. Usually I...take the brunt of attacks, acting as a shield for my comrades to attack or cast magic freely. Basically a meat shield....B-But don't worry! I got a sword and a shield and know how to use them accordingly. And my body is...rather good at taking a beaten...ehehe..."

If one to have a conscious, they would be practically feeling sorry for this foot solider. Not even taking off their helmet in this prosperous civil meeting...almost like they got something to hide.

And then there's the in between, the Demi-humans...They're more akin to humans but they still have some beast traits like a tail or animal ears. Both races...don't have that well of a standing in this country."

Twitting her fingers, she kept her composure but that went straight out the window by your next bold. If you could see through her helmet she would positively flabbergasted as she fumes over the sudden invite.

"M-Me?! Joining the Spear Hero's party! I mean I'm really flatter but wouldn't you want someone better? I'm just....a meat shield."

No rest for the diligent as you decide to round up Elena and bring Aden with you to the dungeon. It seem rather odd that a hero would be considering recruiting people who were to be considered akin to criminals or traitors. On the other hand, perhaps this was the most noble of things as giving a second chance for redemption can only be seen as an act of god. So you had nobody stop you on your trip to the dungeon.

Once down at the dungeon, Elena directed you through the paths while Aden scurried behind.

"Alright here we are..the dungeon. This is where our countries most dangerous individuals are kept...or controversial. Most really wouldn't get the idea to want to hire such folks for the party. Speak of the devil...someone already beat you too the idea." - Elena.

Having to deal with women playing chinese imperial court politics instead of fighting could be annoying. Perhaps there is a married couple of adventurers we could recruit later? Married people could get tedious but at least there would be one set of people we could go to if we want to get away from crazy bitches. Or find a dude to bro out with, but it's a risk on if he's actually a bro or if he gets jealous.
>>3464772
You can probably tell a bunch about a country by the nature of their political prisoners. I like the idea of talking to all of them and the fact that fucking children are in a dungeon is extremely suspicious.
>>
>>3464769
>>3464772
>>3464774

Noted, this might be a bit long in that case. But we'll start with this >>3464767

You give a brief glance between Riku, he acknowledge it but doesn't say anything. You both seem to have a bro code in the works as neither of you interfered with the other. So with that you made your way to the bear eared child.

It looks to be a little girl, wearing rags and looking quite sick. There seems to be a slave quest on her chest. Like the strawberry blond, she look half dead..might not even be long for tis world at this rate. Her attention briefly turns to you.

"..who....are... you.." she asked, coffin up a storm.

"This is the kind of treatment you can expect for Demi-humans in this country. To put it short, we used to be in war with another country completely controlled by the Demi-humans. Both sides had some serious casualties but the war ultimately ended. But that didn't quell the fued, especially with the first wave being an excuse for some of the nobles to attack small towns made of Demi-humans. Covers your tracks perfectly if you use the calamity to blame for the loss of your most hated enemies..." - Elena

This is pretty disheartening to say the least as Aden is practically silent if not shivering at this. Still, the decision to act is entirely on you.

You decide to hear him out despite sympathizing with him, especially after taking a literally dying child with you.

From what he tells you, he was a noble fighter in Siltvelt Kingdom, specifically the Hakuto Faction. An experienced martial artist who fights with his whole body. In comparison, you believe you can call him a fallen Buddhist monk given how he took the path of vengeance after the lost of his temple from the war. Drench in the blood of the fallen, he took charge in eliminating countless high ranking Melromarc officials during the final stretch of the war. As a teen he gotten to see the tactical genius and power of the King back in the day. But looking at him now, he believed the king to be only of a shadow of the once respected man he acknowledged.

When the war was over, he went back to his homeland to pay tribute to the fallen and repent to the children for his actions. However, hearing word of the first wave coming, he set off to make amends and help in anyway possible after talking to a "Certain individual". By the time he arrived he was halted by the militia and accused of assassinating one of the nobles but in truth it was just a cover up to avoid having any "interfering" elements to their "purging" of the demi-human villages. Only hearing the events that came afterwards, he went into a blood rage and almost assassinated the head noble in charge. He's currently on death roll.

"..my name is..Ryuga. And I have told you while I am here. I don't regret what I done in that moment....and I have also come to accept this fate for the crimes I done in the war. But...the only thing I do regret...is being too weak and naive thinking that I could've done something for those children who were suffering from the waves....Once again I let vengeance cloud my judgment and now I must pay for that mistake."

Hearing his story gives you a more closer understanding to the hidden darkness that plagues this country. It isn't as noble as you once believed it to be.

You leave him be for the moment. Rifana is sick but not at the point where she is inches away from death...yet. She needs treatment soon but not THAT soon.

So you decide to move towards the raven haired male. He looks beaten but in still better condition than Rifana or Ryuuga. He's currently leaning against the wall while staring out in the distance.

"...No need to explain yourself. I can already hear you guys talking to the others with these ears of mine. Long story short, I'm someone who didn't agree with our current system and been imprisoned. My rank and status is probably gone and the village my family governs has been taken over by another noble. So I'm as good as useless. Andros is the name btw."

A brief story that's straight to the point. You can tell he knows how to fight given his lanky build. Probably some sort of ranger or rogue, hard to say precisely.

Elena is a magic swordswoman btw. Very skilled at the magic and swordsmanship while more importantly knowing how to not to get hit.

Anyway

You decide to move on to the slender silver haired woman. Like the others she was in rags and is in terrible condition.

"...Former....member....of....church...hurt...talking...need...food..."

The bandaids on her body shows that she was badly hurt and malnourished as well. The cell she was in showns that she held a strange pendant holding the spear, sword and bow...but there was no shield. You can probably deduce that she was some sort of nun or priestess....but how much you can gather is inconclusive given her terrible condition.

>>3465147

The cloak guy finally speaks up as he raises his head towards the others. He was only wearing some pants but what you can tell from him that he's quite athletic and well toned. But like the rest, he been beaten and bruised and quite possibly malnourished. His face is mostly covered but he has orange hair.

"...Bandit leader. Stole from the rich and attacked countless scrummy lords to provide money from the villages they been taxing unfairly due to the waves. Took the fall to let the rest of my crew escape. Name is Julius.."

There's this feeling that there might be more decent choices to pick, but most of the other criminals were starting to look for any excuse to be let out. Making this selection that much harder to pick.

So what do you do?
>>
>>3465196
I’d grab the rogue simply to learn about how he got his level reset. We can’t really trust the clearly corrupt nobles to explain to us about level resets.

Depends on how large our party is supposed to be. We could be making our black ops group right here. Ren’s party was massive since he was just using them as a bunch of farming resources. Waves sound like we should be assembling battalions instead of going in solo s hundreds of monsters that could just sidestep us due to sheer numbers.

>>3465182

>>
>>3465275
That doesn't change the fact that people are going to notice if we were to walk into the dungeons and come out with every criminal detained there. Once we take them out of the dungeons, they'll be associated with us and be our responsibility. Anything they do, like any banditry by Julius or vengeful murder sprees by Ryuuga, will land squarely on our head. Not to mention we need to pay for their provisions and lodging. It's probably best to start relatively small and work our way up from there.
>>
>>3465124
Take the priestess, the fallen noble (Andros), and the little girl. Leave the others.
>>
>>3465279
As far as capable people go, we could always go back upstairs and pick more people from the crowd.
>>
>>3465287
We could just say that we're lessening the burden on the kingdom's finances by putting these criminals to work for the public good instead of letting them waste away while using valuable resources
>>
>>3465305
That excuse might work for the priestess, Andros, and Rifana, but that would be a hard sell for a death row inmate who won't be draining resources soon anyway and a bandit chief who endangers the kingdom's finances more by being out of prison. It also doesn't change the fact that the nobles and common folk are going to see us associate with large numbers of criminals and distrust us and our party.

On a different note, I think it's a good idea to go back upstairs anyway and get a proper mage. We don't have one yet.

>>
>>3465287
I never suggested Ryuuga. Might be mixing me up with another anon.
The most I’m personally considering right now is little girl, priestess(could use to get secrets spilled about the church we aren’t supposed to know), and MAYBE the rogue. He’d be good for if we have to camp near someplace shady since a bunch of spoiled nobles aren’t going to know how to teach us how to survive if/when we have to navigate the thieves market looking for rare treasures/equipment from unsavory backroom deals. The priestess might flop out so best to figure out her record. We could also do the slave crest thing if we bothered to ask how they work or just because our nerdy asses might be paranoid about anyone trying to enslave a hero.
I think we really need to ask just how big a hero party traditionally is so that we know where to stop.
Slave crests in shield hero are way too easy to exploit. You can just shove it on a person then forbid them from revealing they’re a slave if you hide the crest on their butt or something. It wouldn’t surprise me if there was some royal family secretly enslaved by a clever maid somewhere.
>>
>>3465342
Sorry about that.Basically,in the web novel the shield hero starts in a much worse position to the others heroes because of the kings bias against the prior weilders of the shield,so the shield hero starts calling him Trash.Hopefully we dont get to hear about Bitch for a while

Despite some conflct on wanting to take everyone, you decided that it would be best to take the least troubling for your image. A Demi-human, a excommunicate priestess and a fallen lord wouldn't be as problematic as a bandit leader or a war criminal. At least you can spin it on redemption and inflate the noble's egos further.

Riku seem to have already left with the strawberry blond. What was the true purpose in this you can't say but you got your own issue to deal with? For now it's time to rest and think about tomorrow.

You decide to do the sensible thing and go get some breakfast and go get some supplies with Elena. It's a miracle you got the others out of the dungeon but the only one who publically had any good standing currently was Elena herself. So until the meeting was over, it was probably be best to not let them be seen by the public of castle town.

Medication wasn't too hard to find, especially with Elena's skills of navigation. Although since you were currently penniless, you had to take a loan from her to buy some medicine from the party. Rather if Elena was serious about it or just teasing you you can't be 100% sure.

Either way, you got what you needed for the time being.

You decide to personally treat both the priestess and the weasel Rifana with the high grade medicine you gotten. Malnourishment can only be taken care of by routine feeding but that requires time. At the very least, Rifa is slowly responding to your efforts and starts eating the kids meal you gotten. She almost break down crying upon seeing the flag, but you comfort her through the experience. Aden helps you with treating the priestess.

>>3465687
>>3465750

You asked in between of having Aden bathing Rifana about the financial plans. A smart thing to consider that currently you have no means of making money.

"For one the king is expected to give you a boon every month to work off on, outside of the rewards for how you handle the waves. Sometimes it bleeds together. Other then that, you're completely on your own for money. So it's best to figure out what you are best at and how to make a profit. Or have good money management skills and making the boon you get last for the entire month at least. Speaking of which, we're suppose to get it if we go to the meeting right now."

It looks like you need to recall precisely what kind of skills do you have to make money. Otherwise, it seem like Elena will be the backbone to your financial issues. But that's for later, right now you have to go meet with the king.

You decide to leave the weakened Rifa, Andros and the priestess in Aden's care. It wouldn't look good for the image of the kingdom to bring half-dead people to the audience with the King. That said, Rifana tugs at your track suit. She doesn't say anything...but you can tell by the look at her face she doesn't want you to leave her side. Like a wounded puppy clinging at their master, she too wants to stay with you.

Even so, you manage to reassure her that you'll be back and everything will be fine. The weasel girl waggles her tail a bit before attempting to smile...which is a lot harder for her to do. Almost as if...she forgotten how to smile at all.

Elena slowly takes you to the king, pulling you by the arm after reassuring Rifa. The two of you decide to travel on foot to the throne room. It would take only a moment but you are the second to arrive as the Bow Hero arrived first. Then the Shield and Sword hero arrived almost imminently after. Each of you take your bows to the King as he is happy that the heroes came on time.

"It seems that during my rounding up of selective candidates for you to choose, some of you have already been scouting as well. That's all well and good but remember your standing as our saviors. The people won't rally up to questionable individuals."

You get the strong feeling that line right there wasn't completely aimed at you nor Riku. From his eyes...he was looking directly at...Nickolas. You're not completely sure why but you decide not to press on it for now in order to avoid confrontation on your actions.

"Now then you will each be rewarded 400 silver pieces to start with as well as these fine adventurers to join you on this quest to save the world. So make way as our heroes will lead you to victory."

It seem like rather you choosing the selection, it seem like these adventurers will choose who they want to join a party with. What do you do?

You give the obvious tell to Elena to manage who should be in the party given she has more experience than yourself. She acknowledge with a small nod, not giving any real tells to the outside party.

Two people come meet you directly as the others have already selected their teams.

Those being a woman with beautiful red haired woman encase in sleek breastplate armor. You recall this being the same red head you saw in the first meeting. Even now she looks to be the most beautiful person in the entire area.

The Second person looks to be a witch looking woman with short red hair holding a simple staff. Common sense would depict that this must be some sort of mage or caster.

Regardless, it seem that the majority of the chosen champions other than Elena and the two lined up behind you have gone to Lucian with the second being Riku. What is most troubling is that...nobody went to Nickolas.

"H-Hold on a sec? Isn't this a bit unfair? There's 12 champions, but only 5 went to Lucian, 4 to Riku and 3 to Florence. So why am I the only one without a single member..."

"It appears that we have a problem. I am loathed to admit it but it seem that your current standing has not resonated with these champions. Perhaps your ignorance to the world or your loathy appearance make them weary to join sides with you...Nicolas." The king spoke sternly while rumors begin to spread. It seem that the dungeon fiasco has only to worsen these so called rumors. But the strange thing is...only the shield hero is being considered for such a controversial kind of thing.

"In any case. We'll have to give the shield hero double the amount to compensate. But for only this month. Our legends spoke of our heroes knowing full well of about every detail in our world. But it seems that the shield hero isn't boasting any confidence with the townfolk for being the real deal so it's natural to assume that doubt would cause our champions to want to work with you."

Nick was certainly showing signs of distraught and confusion. He clearly did no such thing and the only time he showed mild ignorance was when discussing about keeping track with the other Heroes via carrier pigeons. Even so, as things are they do not look good for the shield hero.

"Ridiculous....I don't need 4 members. I'm a loner who accept strength as the only thing that truly matters. So those who are too weak to defend themselves or keep up to my ideals should join the shield hero instead."

A cruel twist of fate has befallen on poor Riku. Instead of trying to discourage any and all weaklings and lend a single hand to Nickolas...it only further the party's will to join him. The green haired chinese woman, the blond swordsman, the armored giant and the brown beared sage all chose to stand by Riku with strong conviction.

Only two people came to us, huh? The quantity does reflect poorly on our charisma, but at least we've got the best two.
From your description, the pair we've got are the only people I'd have wanted to approach. Let's bring them both into our party.
>>
>>3466073

"Such a bother. It would be rude to expect our party members to simply give up their rights to work with someone that they do not have an ounce of faith in. So do be considerate of their decision...Riku." - Lucas

Once again the tides bend to Lucian's side as the majestic armored knight, the blond monk, the purple haired mage, the white haired count, and the womanly paladin all decide to praise and cherish Lucian's divine wisdom and kindness. Many of the nobles also clap to such generosity despite also acknowledging Riku's strength in his words.

It seems like things weren't looking good for the shield hero. That is until suddenly....a single hand raises up...but from your party.

"Excuse me...but I think I'd like to give the shield hero the benefit of the doubt. If he does not have any members then I, Myne will join him in his quest."

A shocking declaration has been made. All eyes are on the beautiful maiden as she shows signs of complete selflessness in choosing to leave your party to go to the shield hero.

>>3466129
The heroes have to go their separate ways because the weapons interfere with each other otherwise.
>>
>>3466143
Free double agent, huh? Interesting. Alright, let's let her go and take Nick for whatever he's worth. Guess we can look compassionate that way, too.
>>
>>3466110
They mentioned the waves. They conspicuously didn’t mention us ever being able to go home. I’m pretty sure that whatever genre savvy ness we have atm is directly translating into paranoia.
>>
>>3466145
How/why? Sounds like a bunch of bullshit to keep us separate since we apparently work perfectly fine together during waves.
>>
>>3466129
>The goal is to get the heroes strong enough to defend against the waves
That's why we can't party up with any of the other heroes. The king said at the beginning that the weapons won't become stronger if we train in proximity to each other.
>>
>>3466161
I don't remember exactly, but if I recall they hinder each other's exp gain when they're too close. As for why, let's just say the legendary weapons aren't all sunshine and rainbows.

You make the argument that rather than continue with this auction that you and the shield hero should team up together to better equip one another for the waves.

"I'm afraid we cannot do that as my chancellor will explain. " The King retort, showing concern in his tone.

"You see you four heroes are needed to battle against these waves. However, you underestimate how much being in each other's presence hampers your full potential. These four weapons possess special capabilities that are unique to each person. These powers cannot be manifested properly for your party to reap if the four of you are always close together. I'm afraid that your good will cannot bear fruit. So please take your party's consideration into heart Sir Flurry." The chancellor said, stroking his long mustache while relaying his infinite wisdom.

"Now then, we will give the shield hero the added boom and stick to the suggestion that the fair maiden Myne has given. I'm assure that nobody has any objections to that?" The chancellor smiled, knowing full well the King's presence made his facts all the more irrefutable.

With that, the respective parties start to leave the throne room while Nick and Myne start to discuss what sort of stuff they should do to prepare. You on the other hand leave the throne room to finally speak to Elena 1 to 1.

"...You really don't know a lot of this world do you? I'm starting to think....no I believe that those legends aren't all that all knowing as the church lead us to believe. In any case...I didn't want to be in a party with her. She gives me a real bad vibe."

I was personally thinking that we go spying on them with rogue mc roguerson and Elandra to ty and figure out wtf is with that treatment. It’s like the country doesn’t give a crap about dying in an apocalypse of monsters. At minimum we need to setup a real meeting between all of us heroes to talk. We’re being herded around like cattle.
>>
Oh man, I'm catching up on Myne/Malty on the wiki and she's totally fantastic. I love it; this girl just became my favorite party member. Very glad we ended up as the spear hero.
Hopefully Elena doesn't screw things up too badly when she gets back.
>>
>>3466185
We've had multiple royal audiences in two days and the kingdom is providing us with its best fighters, financial support, and rooms in the castle. How could they possibly care [i]more[/i]?
As for shield's mistreatment, he's clearly been the most lax in terms of etiquette and dealing with the royals. This is a fantasy monarchy, they're not going to be inclined to trust some sketchy casual guy.
>>
>>3466175
>Head back to the rest of the party.
Let's get back to Rifana soon, don't want to leave the injured little girl alone any longer than absolutely necessary.
>>
>>3466161
Nope, everyone kinda just accepts not getting any exp during waves. I mean, on the one hand unique boss materials are more valuable than raw exp. Still, 500 feet is actually a small enough limitation that you could conceivably keep.....wait, FEET? That's 150 meters. You could literally be in the same party and keep that up. ALL THE TIME.

For real, we should be splitting the party into 2, 1, 1 when the Wave arrives. 2 to tackle the boss, the others to blender through the monster horde saving civilians.

>Focus on interviewing the Witch
Magic system is slightly odd here. Oh man, we're going to need to hit the books to figure out the language, I forgot about that.
>Wish Nick good luck, and remind him to check out the party help menu properly.

>>3466185
Eh. We don't have enough to go on to go full TRUST NOONE. Honestly we should focus on gitting gud and worry about other stuff once we have a better reputation by getting results in the Wave. Can't save people with information alone.

>>3466221

It hasn't been explained, but we can guess. You may want to reread the description of the priestess's pendant.
>>
>>3466221
Dude, are you for real? The champions picked who they wanted to party up with. It's hardly the king's fault nobody wanted to work with Mr. Shield.
Again, what is it you think they should be doing? The treatment we've gotten seems quite appropriate to me.

>>3466211
Regarding the possibility of working with the other heroes, I'd also like to mention that I'm for staying well apart outside of waves. Not just because of the exp issue, but also because of the other heroes. Riku is clearly kind of an asshole, and I'd like to cultivate a rivalry with Lucian, since we're similar characters.
>>
>>3466211
I wasn’t completely trying to go full TRUST NOONE, but within the last day we have run into casually learning about the country currently participating in genoocide, shoving children in dungeons, mass enslavement systems, the nobility having almost as much corruption as Italy, and now everyone’s shitting on a hero required to stop the apocalypse for no reason instead of just hiring some of their soldiers to train him up. These guys are kinda setting off all of the alarm bells.
>>
> Tell Nick about the Wolfman and deposed Noble in the Dungeons and reccomend he take them with him.

If a hero is unable to do his job ten everyone dies. How much of an asshole could anyone possibly be that within 5 minutes of seeing them absolutely everyone decides the planet dying is more important?
>>
>>3466232

The king said right out in front of everyone that he'd give shield hero double our monetary stipend to make sure he could hire people to work with.

>>
>>3466226
Riku was doing that cool-not cool thing of trying to help without actually admitting it. I'm still holding judgement on Lucian.

>>3466228
Sure, but it's not like we trust the rogue to be a loyal spy. Any suspicions you have about the general society of melromark also applies to its criminals. We need time to build up rapport with anyone we recruit to make sure their stories check out, they won't betray us literally 5 minutes later by selling the info that "The spear hero distrusts the king and uses spies", and they actually know how to do spy things.
>>
>>3466228
>learning about the country currently participating in genoocide, shoving children in dungeons, mass enslavement systems, the nobility having almost as much corruption as Italy
If you showed up in a medieval fantasy world and didn't expect this, I don't know what to tell you.
>>
>>3466230
Reminder, we took the deposed noble with us. Andros is the name, and he's in our party. It's the bandit leader that's still down there.
>>
>>3466175
I'll switch to
>Focus on interviewing the Witch
to ensure we say nothing to Nick and move on with our own concerns.
>>
>>3466230
That's a reaaaaally bad idea, given what's about to happen to him. Any criminal who stands up for him later on is likely to get executed.

We need to wait at least until after the trial. We could even send Andros to him, if there wasn't a risk of them becoming revengebuddy edgeboys.
>>
>>3466240
If you want to go that route then we should fully expect the royalty to actually be mad from lead poisoning by the time they reach the king’s age.
You’re acting like being more “realistic” should make it less terrifying to us in character.
>>3466239
Fair enough and true.
>>
>>3466279
Figuring out what's terrifying to us in character would require us to have a defined character. All we have right now is that he's a college student.
I don't have an issue with the kingdom's policies because that's what I expect from both history and fantasy, and I'm voting for us to act accordingly.
If you have some idea of how our character "should" react, I'd love to hear where you're getting it from.
>>
I thought we only took the Priestess and Child with our Levy/Guardswoman?
>>
>>3466302
Check >>3465945. Andros is one of our party, currently being rehabilitated by Aden.

>>3466294
Regarding setting up what our character is like, is anyone interested in discussing the other details prior to his summoning? So far we know that Flaithrí Ó Ruairc is a 21 year old Irish college student. There's also my earlier suggestion that he's a history major studying at Queen's University in Belfast, but I didn't get any feedback on that.
>>
>>3466302
Our party currently consists of Elena and Aden from the first round, Rafi, the priestess, and Andros from the prison, and the witch from this last event.
>>
>>3466317

You decide that for now the best thing was to let Nick handle things and focus on the new party's mage. Although so far you're getting a nagging suspicion that you forgot something very important.

In one of the private rooms in the castle, you and Elena sit on the chairs to interview the red haired witch. If you didn't know any better than you would assume that this was some sort of business interview with a newbie recruit looking to take the job.

"Hello Vivian Ravencraft, and despite my appearance I am the exceptional genius. Finish in the Faubley Kingdom's best school at the top of my class. The youngest graduate in the school's history. I am a magic who is capable of using all kinds of magic. A real Jack of all trades. I'm even capable of using advance magic and synthesis multiple elements, as well as use healing magic. I'm no priest or cleric, but my healing magic shouldn't be underestimated. So I'm just the kind of wild card you need on this party Mr. Spear Hero."

Already she's oozing with confidence and charm. Almost too full of herself like a certain chuuni from a cartoon you once saw. Not too different from what you are dealing with now.

You surprise both Elena and Vivian with your sudden clap at her introduction. The little red head is practically flustering red as she pulls her hat down over her face. Elena could only sigh as she folds her arms.

"T-That's enough. Your acknowledgement is well appreciated. As for my school, both it and Faubley is a wonderful place. It's state of the art in both magic and tech, magitech is what people refer to our genius If you would call this place a 7 then my home kingdom would easily be an 11. Let's get back to Rifa and introduce Vivian to the rest of the crew.

When do we get that money from the king? I have a feeling that it would be wise to get out of debt to Elena as soon as humanly possible.
>>
>>3466418
Why is this the place where the heroes are summoned?
Did they teach you any tales of the heroes there? I don't know where your king got the idea that I automatically know everything going on when most of his sentences are explaining to us what's going on. I'm learning much more from you than I am from the king.

Who's lady Myne?
(a crown princess being lv 1 when levels are power is dumb even just considering self defense. And they're gonna leave her to fight monsters with only a lv 1 as company to prevent her from dying? And they do so with literal Satan?)

What's so bad about the shield hero? I know I'm cool, but nobody is interested in a guy that specializes in keeping them alive?
>>3466317
I like the idea of being a history major. It lets us be more competent than people immediately assume.

>>3466294
Even if we have no other traits, being a human from an (assumedly modern) era with fantasy books means even the bare minimum of genre savvy would kick up. It's a major problem with a "modern" person set as a character within any popular genre. The story usually acts like they've never seen that exact story play out before for drama instead of everyone immediately adapting because the stories taught em how to deal with it.
>>
>>3466464
Er. actually. We can do the rest of the interview while walking around town to meet the party or after we grab the rest of it.
>>
>>3466463
Good question. I was thinking we'd get the money during the meeting, but it doesn't seem to have happened.

>>3466464
>Even if we have no other traits, being a human from an (assumedly modern) era with fantasy books means even the bare minimum of genre savvy would kick up.
This is my reasoning for why we shouldn't find the way the kingdom's run "terrifying". That's just life in a fantasy world. We should be looking at how we can profit from it, not freaking out.
>>
>>3466463

You already received the 600 Silver Coins [was 200 coins off] from the king's men via a treasure chest before getting the party member.
>>
>>3466464
All in good time. We're only on the 2nd day, and most people aren't quick to explain the context of controversial topics.
>>
>>3466475
>We should be looking at how we can profit from it, not freaking out.
I think it's fine if, since we're from a modern era, we look at such things as genocide and corruption as morally repugnant. At the same time, we can accept that the world isn't perfect and we don't need to start crusading to change it. We can just not participate in things we consider evil and if some such thing is happening right in front of us we can take action to stop it, like the way most people live their lives. Totally altering our moral compass just because it's convenient is some Genocidal Organ shit and would make us more of a sociopath than anything else.
>>
>>3466475
Even if not freaking out, the immediate realization would go towards everything around us is going to suck for the next few months in that case. No modern plumbing, smallpox, 90% of our food variety going poof. Freeaking pineapples used to be so expensive only kings could actually afford eat them regularly. They had to be brought in on the fastest ships at top speed so that they wouldn't rot in transit, then they were rented out for what's roughly the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of dollars to pampered nobles just to show off that they could afford to rent a pineapple while the pineapple was passed along a chain of renters until some rich bastard paid even more for the right to eat it.

>>3466484
Sorry, my brain keeps on poking too many holes in the scenario that I probably shouldn't openly be asking in the middle of the palace.

You decide to head back to the party while continuing the interview for convenience. It was better to be with the rest of the gang than continue this with just the two of you plus the newbie. Also you were feeling bad about leaving Rifa for so long.

"To be honest...I found that to be rather strange. Usually the legends have the 4 heroes summoned throughout the lands. That's part of the reason they're also called the 4 Cardinal Heroes. A reference to each of the main directions. North, South, East and West. Just like the 4 Classic Elements Fire, Water, Wind and Earth. Anyway...the story about legendary heroes is same world around. They're suppose to be people chosen by the heavens to save us in our time of need. Alongside the Seven Star Heroes, they fight evil in whatever form it takes to bring peace to the lands. As for Myne...I think she was in the same school of me. But that's it...real stuck up princess. And you got me about the shield hero. In my land all the four heroes are accepted equally and praised as our saviors."

This is starting to paint a different picture to the beautiful girl you were once memorized.

On the other hand, we are in a setting with magic. Now, as I've said before I haven't read the source material, but considering they can do things like summon heroes from another world and everyone carries around a status menu, I'm assuming that means this is a pretty high-magic setting. In other words, most of the issues people had regarding cleanliness, food preservation, etc in the medieval period aren't likely to be a concern.
All things considered, I would expect a reasonable person to be pretty excited about this. But, I do tend to be an optimist.

>>3466515
I just want to take a neutral stance on the moralism thing. We don't have to go out there and start enslaving beastmen, but I don't want to immediately antagonize royalty over their policies either. This isn't our world.

I'm trying to maintain a perspective where i'm not metagaming when I answer how I thik the MC should react.
If i was doing otherwise, I would know the answer is that people in the hero parties get MASSIVE exp buffs to the point that we could make an entire army without caring about xp penalties like the shield hero did (if we just make sure they're spread out enough when killing that they can be independent sub-parties. i don't recall if slave seals did something abusable with exp allocation to make it better than just laving em in party. I'm leaning towards Naofumi just being paranoid.) and every monster in a hundred miles homes in on the hero. I'm sure the adventuring parties that picked us out actually paid to be there since massive powerlevel gainz make them set for life even if they quit before busting past the first level cap. Technically we could just charge a bunch of gold to put somebody in the party for a day, then let them fuck off for the rest of their life while still in the party if teleport spells didn't ruin things by probably gathering them in too.

The amount of people actually able to level enough to be using their magic for mundane stuff makes it closer to low-mid fantasy because no top tier witch is going to sign up for a life as a refrigerator after decades of study.
Heroes are like shoving the Justice League into a Die Hard movie.

The Witch from what I remember sounds like she's from the most developed country in that world. She's essentially from their equivalent to modern America while we're currently in post-war Vietnam

>>3466623
I doubt Scathatch is here to teach me how to be a hero, anyone in the party capable of teaching me the basics of stabbing things with a pointy stick? I've never had to actually fight with a proper weapon before in my life even if i've been in a few bar fights.

And i'll agree with what those dudes say too.
>>
>>3466652
OOC I know what she's really like and want her in our party for the long haul. The best reason to suggest that in character seems like reserving judgement and letting her advocate for herself. The only negative things we've heard are vague and from women who QM says are less beautiful. Easy to read that as envy leading to ostracism.
Only thing we've seen her actually do is blatantly kind.

So anons, What do you think of a dude's night out with the heroes that aren't jerks since they're gonna be the only people from our planet(until we learn they're from other dimensions) whom we share at least a semblance of culture with for the next few months? Argue about what football team is the best?
I also find the idea of accidentally rescuing the shield hero from his charges because we kidnapped him hilarious. I'm not actually trying to do that on purpose. I just immediately realized that was a consequence of what I wanted to do.

It's probably about time for the secret FAQ everyone that isn't the shield hero got about weapons copying, crystal balls, party teleportation between towns and the like.

Unless we didn't get it for showing sympathy since they can tell us that stuff after he's accused and we won't care to inform him as well?

>>3466673
Yeah, no reason to consider it anything other than HS gossip unless she starts talking about some Carrie tier stuff. The only reason we'd put anything together would be after we figure out the shield hero is SATAN and/or that she's the princess.

>>3466691
I don't think usually this pessimistic, but we got a lineup of all of the isekai red flags. If I wanted to overthink things we'd be relieved by them only because the fact that it's not been done to us proves they can't do it to a hero. Might just be a symptom of me since in TRPGs i'm usually the one going "are you sure this is a good idea? This sounds like it could backfire very easily."

"While I prefer to go big....killing weaklings like the balloon is a safe and consistent way for safe grinding. It just becomes of how much time we want to spend on it till we're good enough for the big guns." - Vivian

As you open the door, you would see Aden currently brushing Rifana's hair, dressed in a beautiful pink combat dress. She really look like a proper little girl. The priestess and Andros were getting better. Not at 100% but they didn't look like they would snap at the slightest of struggles.

Hard pass. Like I said before, I want to do a heroic rivalry thing with Lucian, and Riku's just unpleasant. As for Nick, let's just leave him alone. From all the discussion, I'd rather not interfere with whatever's going on with Myne.

You decide to introduce the party to Viviane while personally going to pet Rifana on her weasel-like ears. She seems a bit shaken by the gester but wiggles her tail a bit from the head pat. Her ears feel really soft and make the cutest of twitching noises. You stop yourself quickly as everyone is just staring at you.

You quickly past the subject to talk about what the party will be doing for the month. It seems you come the conession that you lot should recover until strong enough to fight, level up enough in time for the waves, and to make enough money to buy whatever resources and armory needed to tackle said wave.

Everyone is an agreement to the plan. What else do you discuss ?
>>
>>3466895
Budget our funds, buy the equipment our party needs and save the rest for whatever emergency might come up. Though that does beg the question. Just what exactly are we gonna have Rifana doing? We took her in out of the goodness of our heart, but will that same heart stomach sending a small child into combat?
>>
>>3466906
>will that same heart stomach sending a small child into combat
The answer is always yes.
....Also we can't afford to leave someone to babysit every time. Even if all she does is cook, she's going to need to be able to beat up balloons.

What little we know tells us that even if we left her back at camp or our main base while we fought she would get immediately enslaved. There's no real choice but dragging her along until she outlevels any slave traders. We could let her at least participate in our magic lessons and she can fetch things for elena. I don't think bard classes exist in shield hero so she can't buff us while playing a flute, right?

You are positively attentive and highly detailed about what the party should do overall. It's almost frightening how autistic you are with covering every single aspect of your master plan. And yet nobody could really say anything to disrupt your xanatos gambit. They were all listening in like they were deers stuck looking in the headlights.

The most controversial part of the conversation was indeed tackling how Rifana was going to be involved. As much as the more morally incline party members [Aden, Melody, and even you personally] wouldn't want despite the logic in it...it was ultimately agreed that Rifana would learn how to fight and defend herself.

The deciding tie breaker for this...was oddly enough not you...but Rifana herself. Although scared and traumatized...she doesn't want to be abandoned...she doesn't want to be a burden anymore. The memories of her lost friends still haunt her as she has no idea if Raph is still alive elsewhere or dead. Not to mention the mental scaring that she gave when she monumentally...died. As for Keel...she still haunted that she was separated from him. Still, she needed to become strong...so strong that she could save her friends, take back her home, and finally be free...

Now that you ended up spending the better part of the day discussing plans and motives, it's time for sleep.

You decide that since you're alone for the moment ti finally see what this status menu can really do. With the flick of your finger, you find yourself swarmed with the same spider web tablet chart that you caught a glimpse two days ago.

Looking at it now it's still overwhelming but you commit yourself to fully reading it to understand what you currently can and can't do.

The first thing you notice that your Spear has a series of bubbles attached to it like a spider web. You get the feeling that each of these are special abilities/skills that are unlocked through a special system. The one you currently have talks about refinement. It's the power to craft, forge and enhanced materials, substance and items/weapons entirely through refinement. In other words, it's some sort of crafting system akin to blacksmithing. Drawing out the full potential out of the resources gather to create more powerful effects of magical essence.

At the same time..you get the feeling this might not be the only one..but you can't be sure about this until you confront the others.

There's also the method of copying stuff into your legendary weapons to improve it/open new abilities and/or skills. In addition, the legendary weapons have the ability to transform the monsters they kill into drops: weapons, armors, and tools for them and their companions to use. Also if the necessary ingredients are fed to their weapons they can be set to automatically produce potions and other items for them. They also offer to make up a chart where the hero can get good exp and materials for his weapons.

In fact it seems like you can put almost any matter into your weapon in order to unlock a new form of your weapon carrying special powers relating towards the matter. The requirements basically need you to be at a certain level so stronger/more versatile matter may take more than simple ones. But something else about it feels...incomplete.

con
>>
>>3467285

In time of the waves, your weapon will naturally summon you and anyone you party with towards their respective location the wave of calamity is located. It is possible to freely teleport between different dragon hourglasses provided you made contact with one prior.

Your weapon can translate Verbal language and allow you to speak your primary language and have it translate to the native tongue imminently and vice versa.

The legendary weapons provide bypasses to roadblocks such as level caps, class ups and slave seals to the user.

There's another thing that is important but is currently blocked by a caution sign. There's no words, just the symbol.

As for stats, it tells you things like your strength, dex, agility, intelligence, charisma, stamina, magic power, resources like your health, etc. It also keeps track of your level and shows the stats and conditions of your party members. They become visible when you join a party with them.

All these abilities and skills seem to directly be linked to your gem. At the same time, it is perhaps the gem itself that cause the repelling factor when one tries to use any weapon other than the legendary weapon. Thus the copy function exist to get around that.

Skills and magic can be unlocked through both level up and learning from them through outside sources such as teaching.

There's also special places where one can learn secret arts only found for the legendary weapons.

The legendary weapons also come with a clock and mapping functions. It also seem to double as a personal storage. The legendary weapons can be summoned from this pocket space but also stored when needed.

The basics become second nature to you, though things like reading and writing in the language is not something the legendary weapons provide. That's something entirely you'll have to learn on your own.
>>
>>3467375

Things like class ups, stat and level resets and lel cap increase can only be done through the Dragon's Hourglass. These legendary weapons are connected to such device so it is possible to find one through them if one puts in the effort to look.

Skills and abilities can be transferred to other forms of the weapon. Duplication effects can also be done to strengthen the current ability of the weapon. Limits are tired to directly how strong you are currently.

Recovery and Support magic can be augmented through the power of the legendary weapon. Though it is possible to absorb spell effects through the spear depending on the overall strength of the wielder.

..The most important thing you discover is....all four heroes are necessary to save the world. No new legendary heroes can be summoned...unless all four are slain.
>>
>>3467404

>>
>>3467474

Party exp is normally shared when in the party of a hero. It also increases much faster than it would normal to speed up training. The stronger the bond, the more powerful/faster learning both parties will be. Works like a double-edge sword however.

You can only teleport to places to where you first arrived to once you unlock the portal spear.

Going to have to refresh my memory on UI.

Standard RPG/MMO status Ailement. If you want a big list, you're gonna have to give me a moment to find it.

EP is something guarded for now. The only hint it'll give you that it relates to Hengen Musou
>>
>>3467518
I meant what UI elements appear when someone is in the party. Like being able to see their HP/MP/Ailments. Same with teleportation, how close does your party have to be to join in teleportation, can you teleport them to you, etc.

Just clarifying that MMO ailments Exist, but are different from other diseases. Or if EVERY possible condition gets classified as an ailment you can cure with the right medicine, etc.
>>
>>3467541

Shield Hero is following the latter based on multiple examples. So you technically can cure small pox with magic for one. Stuff like old age is an exception.

The basic stuff like stats and HP/MP/Ailment. Teleportation can be extended but you start off with only being 5-10 feet from one another to teleport. You can teleport to other people in your party and vice versa. So long as they remain in your party.
>>
>>3467446
I mean, most WNs give the readers those stats when the protagonist learns them. I feel like it'd be appropriate for us to be aware of our own character's stat readout.
>>
I could care less about our stats. Just our level is good enough for me to keep track as I know how messy stats can be to tracked.
>>
>>3467568
We're level 1. We have a spear. Maybe a little less on offensive and magical stats, but a little higher on everything else. All in all, we can treat it as being balanced because we're not Shield or anything weird.

Our stat spread isn't going to shift very much, and the majority will focus on what weapon/equipment loadouts we pick.

And I don't need to know what Strength does for the 40th time. Even if our carrying capacity is relevant, we can't spec into strength barring a carrying-oriented spear, which may not even involve stats in the first place.
>>
>>3467568
I'd say we don't need stats. Unless you want QM to create an unnecessary combat system that uses those stats. I don't think it matters all that much.
>>
>>3467581
I actually don't want him to, no. I just like reading stat readouts as a sign of progress in terms of strengthening.
Clearly nobody else does, though. Alright.

You know, I'm laughing at this entire thread. It seems a majority of us are Web Novel Readers. Its really weird if you think about it since we all had to mine for a translation from somewhere.
>>
>>3467581
I personally just glaze over stats when I see them in a LN.
We don't know the criteria for min/maxing. The only thing that's important about the stats is that they're increasing.
I obviously want to know if people are low on HP , the healer can still heal, and stuff like that, but the actual numbers don't matter so much as the interpretation of what they mean or how they changed.
>>
After learning everything that you can so far about all the status and menu options you have. You decide to finally go to sleep since you're going to have an active morning tomorrow. One would find it positively tedious learning stuff through the old fashion way rather than using magical items like the crystal orbs. But for you who is a history major, there was something exciting about learning about the world and getting involved with it.

It seem to make the world feel....well like an actual world rather than assuming that it was just a game. Thoughts for later, right now you sleep.

>The Next Day

There might be something shady going on, but for now you decide not to worry about it. It's probably just paranoia getting to you. Makes sense given Rifana's night terrors and it's only 2 A.M. So instead you decide to head to outside to use the bathroom out there in order to take in the scenery.

It's quite the beautiful moon, a full moon to be in fact. Even though it's another world, there's a sense of familiarity for you just seeing the night stars.

You really want to shout in angry irish for being disturbed from your slumber. More importantly, you didn't want your party, especially Rifana to wake up from the disturbance. So you decide to slowly sneak out of the room to see who is causing trouble.

To your surprise you see that several of the knights were dragging....Nickolas of all people to the carriage outside in order to take him to the castle. You try to go to him but one of the guards stop you.

"Please Mr. Spear Hero, leave this to us. We also need you to come to the castle as well. Just you and one of your party member will do. No need to involve all of them."

You are momentarily talked down for the moment. And much to your misfortune, you didn't have a camera or consider using your spear to absorb a crystal ball.

Eh. If the princess knew we "caught" her we'd just get framed too or targeted. The smart thing to do long term imo would be
Not say a peep unless the lie breaks down independently so that we can take notes on the holes in the argument, inform our party of it, and hope the first waves are outside the country (easy enough to figure out) so that we can send letters to the local militia/army to relay our accusations up their chain of command.

Out of the goodness of your heart you decide to confront Myne up the stairs. Almost in dramatic fashion she ends up running to you...crying. She holds you in a deep embrace like a tortured victim....yet this feels....oddly different compared to your more damaged party members...for reasons you can't put your finger on currently.

After she eventually gets the strength to pull herself together. She finally starts to talk to you.

"Oh Lord Florence! It was terrible. I thought that despite the accusation and rumors that he was a good man deep down. Yet my kindness and trust was paid with....betrayal and assault. He came to my room drunk after a night of celebration for our bounty...looking for another bounty of his own. Saying that the night was still young and..and.."

She broke down into tears yet again, Recollecting the experience has truly did a number on her poor psyche. Still, it doesn't look good given what she has told you so far. Slowly she pulls herself up.

"You were right Sir Florence...I should have trusted my instincts and stayed with you. But my kind heart just couldn't bare to see a noble hero be without help....but that man....that man...he's no hero. He's a devil in the wakel."

Bold claims coming from Myne, yet it seem that she truly believe these words. Not to mention she believes in yours just yesterday when you confronted her about switching sides. Who could have done such a thing to beautiful and fair maiden quite like her?

From the brief glance you saw, she doesn't look at injured if not barely ruffled. Heck you could say that she gout out of it pretty fine all things considering. Even so, it probably wouldn't hurt to check some more to be absolutely sure...

But you are too distracted by these chain of events and more importantly the risk to your precious budget to directly do anything for Myne. In fact you run with speeds practically unheard of as you come off as a mad man blazing through the castle walls and down the hall. The way you ramble on in your Irish tongue made it impossible for the auto translation function of your spear to keep up in time to provide accurate translation for the people. So it sounds like you're speaking in an old yet exotic tongue as you sweep through the halls.

The alternate title "The Rampage of the (Irish) Mad Spear Hero" is starting to look more and more like a new legend in the works. Although with how wild you're running, it's not all that surprising that you storm the entire castle with your antics. By all accounts your body should tire out but your willpower pushes you to beyond your limits for nothing can stop the rampage of the Irish.

Eventually you make your way to the throne room. In hindsight, you probably should've went there first or ask for help locating the transaction that is happening. Yet again, you were far too consumed in your rampage to apply common sense.

Standing in the throne were Riku and Lucien, looking at from the upper right of the throne room. It also seem that Lucien was in fact wearing a black chain shirt while Ren was wearing a custom made blue tunic. Myne on the other hand was being protected by Lucien's staff while she is closer to the king.

At the center of it all was Nick, currently being surrounded by spears as they hold him in place at the center of the throne room. The king on the other hand remain on his throne chair, completely enraged by the entire ordeal.

It seem like you are indeed the last one to make it here.

>>3468815
Either one is fine with me, but thick Irish accent at least makes it easier on the QM to make our spiel understandable.

I'm not really sure why people want to recruit her into the party. We already know one party member doesn't like her, having a rape victim around means we can't make dirty jokes of any kind without things getting awkward, our weapon is one giant phallic instrument waiting to give her flashbacks, half our party probably doesn't like her to begin with, and we already balanced the budget!
Or do you guys just want to see the chaos that ensues from having her in the party?
>>
>>3468858
I'm trying to play up the legendary knight character as much as possible, myself. Chivalry comes with the situation, and there's nothing that'd make me happier than having Flaithri take Myne in and protect her.
It's a classic narrative.
>>
>>3468858
Also a significant point, the Bow and Sword heroes already had more volunteers to be their champions. I definitely don't want yet another person going to one of them.
>>
>>3468882
Key word: just. Yes, we need to get to the fighting, but courtly love and the treatment of noblewomen have always been major aspects of medieval legendry and the chivalric code.
>>
>>3468876
Chivalry is not just about damsels. If anything, we need to focus on battle for fighting is at its heart. Basically we should end up like Cu' where his final moments were the best Chivalry could offer.
>>
>>3468876
We can rescue a fair maiden without bringing her into our group. It would be even more knightly if we came back to her to regale with tales of our adventure whenever we got back into town.
Not that I'm going on that path; I'm just pointing out that there are multiple ways to do it.
>>
>>3468857
> you run with speeds practically unheard of
> "The Rampage of the (Irish) Mad Spear Hero"
We Cu now?
>>
>>3468888
>>3468890
>>3468896
This question of damsels raises an important question: when the time comes, should we drop some medieval chat-up lines and see where they get us? I can think of two directly out of Irish legends off the top of my head. Neither are particularly flattering by modern standards, but hey, medieval-ish society, right?
>>
>>3468888
That's a french thing and centuries after Irish heroes. It's like making a play about the 20th century and it talking about our fear of the black plague.
>>
>>3468896
That's true, but I'd still lean towards bringing her into our party.
To address your complaints, dirty jokes aren't something I'm concerned about; I find it difficult to believe someone living in a medieval castle, surrounded by pike-wielding guards, would be getting PTSD over a spear; intra-party drama is entertaining, moreso when it's a catfight; and the budget can always be rebalanced. If we're lucky, the king might even award us some of shield's stipend!
Also, again, I really want to get as many of the initial champions into our party as possible. I'm sure they're all fairly significant characters, and we got shafted on the initial draw.

>>3468914
If you've got them to hand, yes.
>>
>>3468916
The society we're in is far more similar to the medieval period than to legendary Ireland, though. I'd like to mix elements of the Irish heroes with more period-appropriate knightly and chivalric characterization. Also, the English and Germans of the period were quite into chivalry as well; not just a French thing, although France was the center.
>>
>>3468918
>dirty jokes aren't something I'm concerned about
You're going to be pretty disappointed with my chat-up lines.
>>
>>3468858
Like I said, I want her in our party because I honestly like her real personality. Not going into detail since anon hasn't read the source.
>>
>>3468857

"It is my deepest regret to have to bring this up again but thanks to our noble Spear Hero finally arriving in....a dramatic fashion, it will do us good to repeat what has been stated. Myne, forgive me for asking this but would you repeat what has been said."

The crowd once again look burdened by this but also show disgust to the Shield hero who is both confused, upset and distraught about the entire thing. He was also currently dressed in rags, not unlike the rags you saw in the dungeon.

Myne slowly nodded, sobbing a bit as she repeats what she told you. The main difference is that she expanded upon the story. She was lucky that she managed to get away from the Shield hero after he tried to have his way with her. She ran from room and hid herself all night At least until she was found by Sir Lucien where she broke down and sobbed in his arm. After explaining the situation, he had gone to make an audience with the king while telling her to find another hero to station with till then.

On Nick side, he mentioned that he obviously did not do it. His clothing and money were stolen, he had the same black chain mail that Lucien is seemingly wearing. Myne did offer him a drink during dinner but he turned it down. For Nick was not one to drink and was already tired and wanted to get an early sleep after the celebration.

"Silence filth. I will not have you speak out of turn. Even though you're a cardinal hero, to think that you would go against the act of the heavens and do one of the most forbidden things a man can do." The King was about to pop a vessel for this act of dishonor. Shocking everyone in the audience and even the guard. Not even Riku and Lucien could fully maintain their composure as it slightly breaks.

"Surely you jest. This chainmail was given to me by Myne after I came to her aid at the garden. It's an heirloom from her mother and I wear it with pride." Lucian flips his hair, resuming the cool and collected appearance that you known to expect from him.

Before Nick could argue again, the king would wave his men to raise the spears further to silence Nick.

"One of the greatest sin is adultery, but to go one step further is sexual assault...especially towards a woman. Even attempting it will result in one's death. Honestly if you weren't one of the four heroes you'd be executed imminently for this transaction!" The King yelled, keeping his composure but obviously sicken by such acts.

There was now notion for Nick to finally speak for better or worse.Nicklas kneel down, still trying to show some modesty and respect as he truly believes himself to be in the right.

"I didn't do it! Your majesty please listen to me. I'm the one being wronged here. I lost everything and I did not touch Myne. If you say that I have done these unforgivable acts...then show me the proof!!!"

Upon saying that, one of the castle guards went forward to step up for this occasion. It was another nameless solider.

>>
>>3468918
I was joking when I said half of that, but she's nobility, she has people that can comfort her instead of some literal stranger. Frankly I think we'd sound like a ponce trying to drag her into a war when she got traumatized within the first day of it. We are not experts in rape victim counseling. She needs to be with people she can trust instead of a second set of brigands.
>>3468923
I'll try and see if the video I learned it from is around later perhaps, but if i remember it right courtly love was invented in france which is what led to the arthurian legends having Lancelot violating the bro code. It was all perfectly fine (Ideal knights would have courtly love and Lancelot was the ideal knight so courtly love got stamped into the story) until courtly love fell out of style and Lancelot suddenly looked like a dude lusting after the queen instead of a purely platonic relationship.
>>
>>3468941
There is a odd form of amusement about the Irishman not being considered by the local royalty.
>>
>>3468938

>Silence you hob stinking British twats! I can smell a English scheme when its about!

Dunno if everyone is up for this or not.
>>
>>3468941
Damn. Maybe next time.
If nothing else, we're starting to build the reputation of a traditional Irish hero thanks to our outburst. If that's any indication, highborn girls are going to be all over us soon enough.

>>3468957
We don't have enough information yet to make a judgement. We tore through the castle not two minutes ago because we don't know who's right.
>>
>>3468948
Chivalry and courtly love did originate in France, that's why I said France was the center of it. I was just making the point that it wasn't restricted to France, but quickly spread throughout the courts of medieval Europe.

>>3468938
That's it. Lucian's been stealing our character right from the beginning. I voted for us to be the first to kneel to the king, keep trying to push etiquette, yet he still manages to be the most courteous. He gets the most champions out of the initial set, despite being the youngest hero and obviously the least reliable. Now he's even managed to poach Myne? We've got to find some way to reverse this before we get totally overshadowed by a goddamn punk.

"Your majesty! As you requested we just finished checking the room that the shield hero has been staying in. And what we found....was this.."

The guard lift up what appears to be a woman's undergarments and matching nightgown. The crowd was one step close to being in a vengful frenzy as Myne covers herself and screams, almost recollecting the experience.

"The proof has been provided and it seems that I have no choice but to punish you Shield Hero. After all, with it being undeniable, it is the only logical outcome for someone like you."

"How so! That wasn't in my room when I woke up! "

Before Nick could speak any further, Lucian once again stepped in.

"Nickolas reframe yourself...don't fall any lower than what you already have. I knew something terrible had happened and despite the rumors...I believed that you would know how to be more...respectable and chivalrous as a hero. While it was not our choice to be here, these people have done nothing but treat us right and given to every one of our demands. The least we can do is give them the respect and dignity that they deserve."

The crowd yet again sided with the noble will of the Bow Hero. Truly he seem to be the most fit for the traditional depreciation of the Four Cardinal/Heavenly Heroes.

"We may have chosen by the heavens. But that doesn't mean we should use our strengths to bully the weak and helpless. Just cause we're heroes doesn't mean we should do whatever we want and believe we'd get away with it. I thought you knew that Nickolas."

Riku on the other hand held a neutral standing, but still did not condemn such misuse of their status as heroes.

All sides so far are against the shield hero. Which leaves...only you

>How do you respond?
>>
>>3468957
Definitely against this. We should hear out the trial and see if there's any way to get Myne into our party. Since QM gave the recruit option and it had 50% of the vote at the last choice, it should still be possible.
>>
>>3468957
The story is already breaking down. I suspect I'm misinterpreting something since it sounds like her story is that she got raped before going up perfectly calmly to Lucian (aka around the time we saw her), handing him a gift that belonged to her mother, and THEN being distraught about being raped.
I'm gonna go reread it.
>>
>>3468979

Lady Myne, I must implore your forgiveness. In failing to stop you from going to that man's side, I bear part of the blame for what occurred last night. Can you forgive one named as a hero for such a failure?"

>>

Whisper to Elaine, (I'm assuming she got here before we did since the "invite" said hero+ member) I saw her leaving her room with that chain shirt looking perfectly fine. Why would anyone want to pin crimes on a hero?

I'll go with this since it's funny. I dunno where nick is from but if we can place him as a person that would actually understand our rant we can probably
discreetly say we don't know why he was setup but we'll try to find out later if we walk up to him and say things with less volume while looking like we're gonna strangle him.

All we have from the QM is that we saw her leaving the room with the mail shirt. She could have been fine or distraught; it was the middle of the night and dark, I doubt we could make out her emotions. Why jump to the conclusion that someone's pinning a crime on Nick?
>>
>>3469046

if nobody got anything else to add, seem like #SupportMyne is gonna win.
>>
>>3469059
Because we saw her calm when she left. If she was raped, the screams alone should have woken us up. Shes likely higher level than Nick.
>>
>>3469071
Except that we didn't see her calm or otherwise. QM didn't go into any detail about her emotional state, appearance, or anything. We just know she was leaving his room with the chainmail shirt, and presumably couldn't make anything else out in the dark.
She could have been in shock, or fleeing with the unnatural focus and quiet of an adrenaline rush. People in traumatic situations don't always scream like a slasher movie heroine.
>>
>>3469059
>>3469086

The way we were interpreting it when we voted for it was that she was walking out as normally as possible, with no hint of being distraught, and in no way that would even bring things to our attention. It wasn't a we can't read her emotions in the night. it was we clearly recognized her and saw nothing strange thing. If we were able to recognize her then we clearly had to see her decently enough to not think she was just some random redhead.

We could hear the shield hero screaming about being robbed when he woke up. If she had screamed we would have heard her too. Stuff aint adding up, but we also aren't stupid enough to be saying it when we'd just get shoved in the dungeon too.

At the least we could ask Myne what the lighting was like. If the first thing he thought when waking up from being drunk was that he was robbed, then it could mean some dastardly robbers tried to have their way with mynne during the night and she couldn't see their real identity during the events.
>>
>>3469069
I'm voting for accusing everyone of a Conspiracy.
>>
>>3469086
I don't care how dark you think it was, we couldn't possibly have been incapable of telling the difference between walking nonchalantly and fleeing from a rapist while being able to actually see who she is.
>>

>>
>>3469100
>just some random redhead.
She was coming out of shield hero's room. Only one redhead we'd expect to be there. We saw her moving in the darkness, couldn't tell much, and moved on because we didn't expect anything to be wrong.
>If she had screamed we would have heard her too
Already addressed. She was probably either in shock or too terrified to make noise.
>We could hear the shield hero screaming about being robbed when he woke up.
Presumably a cover; I'd imagine he was hoping to make himself seem less suspicious by getting the opportunity to pin it on "mysterious robbers" as you want to do.

Considering that the king is "enraged," I'm also going to say that anything short of accusing Shield is probably going to get some of his guilt thrown on us. Shouting about a conspiracy will of course be even worse.
>>
>>3469140
I'm also kind of wondering why he isn't hungover if he was blackout drunk. I bet he doesn't even reek of alcohol.

>>3469157

It's probably some kind of magic shield power. It's a legendary artifact designed to protect, right? I'm sure it's got a cure in there.
>>
>>3469157
>>3469166
I'm also against actually shouting about a conspiracy. I'm just trying to frame the things we are going to need to address if we send to an outside country for help. You totally swing to the side of Myne, believing in her story much like the rest of the people in the throne room. The threat clearly did some damage and trust issues with you and Nick. He could only respond with a look of sadness and despair directly at you.

"It wasn't your fault...nobody could ever believe someone who we accepted and given trust to despite the rumors would do something like this. So don't bet yourself up."

Myne's words of encouragement and acceptance has appealed to the crowd in a manner similar to Lucien's charismatic ways. It certainly make you feel good about yourself despite breaking Nick's heart.

The Shield Hero Nickolas was clearly getting more and more upset over the thing. Nobody wanted to believe him and things only worsen for him the longer this trial went on. However, he would soon catch a glimpse of something that he shouldn't have seen...from Myne. That one sight was enough to sent him in a blinding rage of his own.

"You bitch! You set me up! This was just a ploy for you to take everything from me while chumming it up with your favorite hero. I bet the two of you came up with it together!"

"Watch your tongue Nickolas Irving! "

"Shut up you narcissist!"

"Enough all of you!" The king finally put his foot down, once again bringing order to the court. This courthouse was practically a circus and he was the ring leader. Although, he didn't interject when the nobles were once again putting down the shield hero through all of this. Believing that he was a vile creature who can only use others cause he's unable to do anything but defend himself. These slanderous words echo through the throne room, and only fueled Nick's decent into darkness.

"I guess the answer is clear. With no proof on Nick's side about his accusations and the evidence piled against him yet strongly refusing to accept the truth. I never thought you would be this weak willed....Nickolas. "

"It can't be helped. It's a rather unfortunate misfortune to be plagued with such a dastardly villain as the shield hero. I can already tell that everyone wants to punish him so that justice can be brought to the land. We can't be merciful with people like this. Not even giving him a shred, otherwise the people will lose faith in us and this kingdom. So we must stand united and bring forth the hammer of justice."

"Well said Sir Lucian. The nobles here are in agreement that it was a mistake to summon this shield hero to our lands. But we have to make due with what we have." The King lets out a sigh before turning his attention back to the Shield Hero.

"Fine...whatever...I don't care any more...This world can burn in hell for all I care. JUST SEND ME BACK HOME. SUMMON A NEW SHIELD HERO OR WHATEVER, I'M DONE!!!"

The rage in Nick started to cause the gem to glow as the spears start to tremble, causing confusion to the guards as he was resisting their holding stance.

"Running away when things get tough! You really are a hopeless coward! Stop talking or my faith in you will be less than nonexistence traitor!"

"So you been found guilty and can't even be willing to try and redeem yourself? You just find new ways to be such a disappointment Nickolas Irving. The very thought of abandoning these people shouldn't be something a hero like us should ever consider. "

"Why not send him home anyway? Who wants to fight with a rapist as one of our her-" Before the chancellor could finish, Nick gave off a rather sinister glare. A rather distrusting and hateful glare cast upon everyone as it only brought more weariness to the audience.

"Shut up all of you! Just send me back home!!! Right now!!"

The king could only sit back down and place his right palm against his face. He was no longer angry but just disgusted by what he was dealing with.

"Believe me, I would like nothing better than to send you back home and try again. But the legends say that only once the current 4 Heavenly/Cardinal Heroes are slain can new ones can be summoned. So like it or not, you're stuck here. That is...unless you do your job and conquer the waves. Only then can you be summoned back to where you belong."

With that, the entire four heroes froze in unison. Although for you, it would be more the fact that your flicking with the menu to find out on this truth was indeed the real deal.

con
>>
>>3469299

"So fight to survive. That's the only thing that you can do....Shield Hero" The King demanded. The nobles on the other hand were concern with fighting with a criminal like the shield. But it couldn't be helped, like it or not they were stuck with him just like how Nick was stuck in this kingdom that shun and despises him left and right for reasons he could not understand.

"Whatever! I'll tackle the waves.....MY WAY!!"

With that, Nick pushed the guards off of him. Once again causing the gem on the shield to glow yet again from his distraught and aggressive emotions. The guards were pushed back, still holding on to their spears but certainly shaken by this.

"So what it'll be? You just going to put me in jail? Have me rot away until you need me to take care of the waves!"

"...No, that would do no one any good. The waves are coming in a less than a month. So like it or not, as a hero I will not imprison you... This world needs you just like it does with the other Cardinal Heroes. But know this Shield Hero....news of your crimes are already spreading towards the people. The mark of a tainted man will be more than enough to punish you. The bare minimum will only be given to you. Don't ever expect to live a decent life in this country. Scum or not."

After hearing the kings words, Nick just prepares to walk off. But before that, he threw the remaining coinage that had towards Myne.

"Take it and shove it up your ass!"

What the fuck dude? We got kidnapped to another planet and he calls not wanting to do the tasks forced upon us by our summoners as running away?
>>3469343
Already spreading? They did a press release before the trial even started?

These aren't votes. I'm just questioning the actions of the people around me. They're all acting like twats.

>>3469343
Now my actual vote
>Do you guys keep tabs on where the heroes are? I'm gonna give him a good thrashing later.

(I was really flip flopping between following Nick and staying at the castle to check out the weapons of everyone in the castle + the royal armoury for copying)
But as >>3469411 pointed out, we seem to actually think he did it instead of clearly recalling her story is bullshit since we saw her perfectly composed when she exited his room. Maybe we might figure things out when we calm down despite the court being an absolute farce.

I feel like we aren't gonna get another chance to loot through the royal armoury or ask that we be allowed to "borrow" some of the weapons since we gotta start leveling quickly.

Plus i really want to publicly be confused that the king left a princess completely and utterly unguarded by anyone other than a lv 1 guy that he didn't trust. That's a major issue of national security and practically begging for her to be kidnapped or ransomed by an enemy nation.

>>3469436
Or give him a thrashing.
>>
>>3469445
I like the idea of going through the armory, but I still think our top priority should be trying to recapture Myne from Lucian. Last night was a major screwup on our part, apparently. Maybe go and speak with her, propose to protect her, and then suggest improving our spear via the armory?
>>
>>3469433
Honestly, that's what I'm trying to figure out.

>Head back to party.

We can recall things as fishy, but as far as we know justice has been served. We need to start working on getting more powerful or its gonna bite us in the ass.
>>
>>3469434
You forgot the part where we have Irish blood. It tends to easily heated. But I will give you the admittance of fighting against it for trying to add more to the following than potentially need be.
>>3469440
It's alright Anon, I tend to skip my words as well when speed typing.
>>3469445
I'll change my vote to throw in with yours.
>>
>>3469454
>recapture
Why? We don't have any romantic interest in her, actually trying to do while she's still traumatized by almost being raped so would be sleazy as fuck. She has her noble family to go back to for comfort and security while we probably aren't going to have a party environment suitable for her (We do have several prisoners in our party. She absolutely shouldn't want to go spend time with more sketchy folk after what happened. It's utterly nonsensical that she get shoved back in with us or any other party. About the only thing I can agree with is apologizing for not being there to protect her or whatever other fluffy nonsense comes out of our mouths.
>>3469433
I honestly don't get it at all other than some people that admit they just want to see the chaos that ensues. It doesn't even make any logical sense unless we are a much hornier lout than I thought we were
>>
>>3469445

They're getting the full support of the kingdom and everything they can ask for in exchange for doing their job. Things went south for Nick and he believes he's trying get out of his part of the deal. If he said it at the start when they were interrogating the summoners + King then he'd feel Nick would be more justified.

As for the spreading...there's more to it then meets the eye. For now just assume they got people outside telling the deed.

Absolutely not to recruiting Myne.
>>
>>3469525
Gonna have to say no on that front for Myne recruitment. Since we already have a superior waifu in Happy Merchant.
>>
>>3469517
Must be my/our lack of knowledge about this world since I was under the impression that we had absolutely no idea how far 5000 silvers can stretch. It's still a bit of a scam to just yoink someone out of the blue away from their home and say you gotta do this job until you die, but here's some cash we GRACIOUSLY decided to pay you for the work you just got conscripted into.
(Might be my personality clouding things here. I tend to be belligerent at getting orders from people I didn't choose to follow in the first place where they expect/demand that I follow them without considering that I might not want to. (Requests/asking is different)
>>3469525
Absolute no to recruiting her too. I already outlined why recruiting her would be a jackass move and why it's a bad move for us to do logically.
>>
>>3469491
>Why? We don't have any romantic interest in her
For me it's partially a matter of frustration. When we were first looking around for party members, I voted for talking to the redhead who turned out to be Myne. Outvoted, we went to Elene instead. Then she showed up at the champion's selection and came to us, but ended up going for shield. Now we've had several chances to try and recruit her again, and keep screwing up.
>>
>>3469530
I Agree
>>
>>3469548
Why do you want myne?
>>
>>3469547

It was more of a plead/request like one of those standard RPGs narrative. They're just willing to compensate and be reasonable to work with you. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. Also it's monthly payments + Wave Completion money you're getting. Not just a one and done kind of deal.
>>
>>3469548
Probably because everyone else isn't actually trying to recruit her and there's no reason to go to her.
Were we supposed to go up to her while we had to take a leak with the intent of stealing her from the party?
After it got revealed she was hurt were we supposed to bring a noble into a party with a rogue that we roughly know hates nobles? Or with the knowledge that nobles in this country is racist against beastmen were we supposed to let her anywhere near our daughteru? Bringing her in if we take everything at face value is asking for the entire party to get into a negative spiral from their trauma.
>>
Are we overlooking the fact that we saw Myne with the black chainmail last night and she was fine?
>>
>>3469574
Well I suppose the heroes not being able to go back puts that plea into a new light since we never had the option to say no to them in the first place unless we wanted to die from the first wave. Hopefully our witch or the priestess knows about heroes that were actually able to go home.
>>
>>3469560
Several reasons.
First, I think it's the most in-character thing for Flaithri to do. She's clearly determined to be a champion and serve with one of the heroes, so we should make up for letting her go to shield by keeping her safe ourselves. Letting her go with the prissy teen seems like a terrible idea.
Second, there's the matter of competition between the heroes. Lucian already had the most champions going to him, and the prospect of getting only one of the kingdom's twelve handpicked champions rankles. We can at least have two.
Third, personal preference in terms of looks. I prefer redheads to brunettes, and Myne's demeanor is also more pleasant than Elene's.
Finally, as I said above, there's the matter of frustration. I tend to be stubborn, and the more we continually fail to bring Myne into the party, the more I want to make it work.

>>3469576
We didn't recruit the bandit leader, so the "rogue who hates nobles" thing is out. We already have a (fallen) noble in our party, and he hasn't started anything with Rifana. I don't recall ever being told that Myne was a noble. Are all of the champions nobles?
>>
>>3469602

>>3469617

>>

>>
>>3469617
Yeah I hope so too that why I want to confront Nick so we can actually talk to him and get his story
>>
>>3469602
For some reason there is a decent amount of anons who think we couldn't tell anything despite being able to recognize her. Apparently we have some sort of bizarrely specific Irish autism that makes us fail at understanding body language.
>>3469608
She isn't clearly determined to do anything. She hasn't remotely expressed any interest in being a hero companion after the incident.

>>3469608
The rogue was the guy with sharp ears aka Fallen noble. We know Myne is a noble because she was called Lady. I'm guessing that you're american so you'd be less familiar with the "proper" usage of Lady/Sir.

You only get to be called that that if you actually hold the title in official proceedings. If she wasn't one before, then she is after the King himself said it. The heroes might be an exception of sorts to that so hairtosser is now unlanded nobility.
Since we're Irish we should generally know that and have immediately picked up upon it.
>>
>>3469608
>I don't recall ever being told that Myne was a noble.
According to Vivian, Myne is a princess >>3466524
>>
>>3469629
Because shes not like a Mebd. Mebd would make an army, have them capture us, and then try to rape us.

This gal is just a bitch because she wants the throne.
>>
>>3469638
I read that as describing her personality as the "spoiled princess" archetype.
>>
>>3469629
When she starts turning our enemies into flesh sofas then I will give her a chance.
>>
To include, we have been told by our trusted advisor that Myne is someone to be wary of. So we have in character reason to not trust the girl.

Not yet, nobody told you about that.

>>3469603

>>

>>
>>3469638

Could easily be mistaken for a figure of speech. The fact that she was officially called a lady is much more concrete and could make us realize she might be an actual princess.
Our lovely assistant or the witch wouldn't get to be called Lady and anyone doing so would generally be breaking the law.
>>

Since these intertwined and the majority actively voted against recruiting Myne, I'm going to go with this.

You still believe Myne's story...but something about this feel unfinished. You don't think that Nick has been properly dealt with, especially with that recent display. So you're going to go after him to stop him from doing thing else...

First thing first. You ask the king if there's any way to track the heroes as well as to have access to the royal armory.

"Aside from the word from my knights, I do not have active means to keep track of our Heroes. But fred not, the waves will summon the heroes to their respective place. So no matter how far he'll go, he'll be bound to fight if he wants to return home. As for your second question, we will allow you to look at the armory in time and see what you need. But I urge you not to go to the black room...unstable and dangerous things are locked in there for a reason. We cannot have our noble hero cause his own death because he was a little too curious now would we ? But I will recommend you going to our local blacksmiths while you wait."

You take that in mind and decide to go after Nick first. The armory wasn't going anywhere anytime soon unlike the Shield Hero. So with that you decide to tail after Nick on your own.

It was easier moving alone rather having your party with you for this operation. Although...having Andros with you at least would've been far more effective. At any point, you follow Nick to the grasslands as he aggressively punches against the Balloons. Between seeing this pathetic yet sad struggle and him almost breaking down after talking to a certain buff black skinned blacksmith to the point of getting a new set of clothing, you start to question yourself while maintaining your stealth tactics.

>Talk to Nick to get his side
>Leave him be
>Help him instead with the balloons
>Sneak Attack!!

>Talk to Nick to get his side

>>
>>3469748

Go back to the castle and copy the most useful weapons from the armory. Then return to our party and get ready to start grinding mobs. We've been delayed long enough by the shield hero's drama.

Actually change sneak attack to Irish Brawling since you're easily heated and tempered.
>>
>>3469773
Isn't it established that we followed after him because we think he's a rapist? How does that follow into giving him money as a sign of trust?
>>
>>3469775
>Change to Irish Brawling
I like your style QM
Does the rest of our party have proper equipment?
>>
>>3469782
well were having difficulty in deciding whether we just put up an act so we wouldn't invoke ire. or if we actually believe Myne.
>>
>>3469759
The king might be following him too. If we do that we've gotta publicly look like we're still not on his side. At the least turn off the translator and tell him how to so that we can wildly gesticulate to make it look like a shouting match?
>>3469760
If the castle isn't too far we could at LEAST copy weapons from the guards. We just had a giant row of spears we could copy, yet the King wants us to spend money nearby. He's either stupid or doesn't know we can do it..

>>3469748
In the end I'm going with brawl and have a conversation without the translator on while it looks like we're fighting each other.
Then we get back to the castle with our assistant at the very least since we need to schmooze and sort out territories. I think we should travel the world instead of sticking to just this country. Being able to teleport across towns means whenever we sell something we can go to the town where our drops are considered the most exotic or have the highest local price.
>>
>>3469796
I agree
>>
>>3469796
That's a better plan. Supporting.
>>
>>3469773
Seems a bit much.
We know something is up and for all we know they have invisible ninjas watching us or witches spying from a crystal ball.
>>
>>3469796
QM, how exactly does the copying work? You said that we can "copy stuff into your legendary weapons to improve it," but what's the mechanic there? Does the spear become an exact replica? Does it gain some sort of spear EXP per copy?
>>
>>3469796
Damnit man why must you be so late with these good posts.
Still supporting it regardless.
>>
>>3469796
I say this so we can move on. I honestly don't care for the shield if we can beat him in the end.
>>
>>3469810
Basically, assuming the anime is accurate, we gain abilities related to what we absorb. For example, absorbing a fire-breathing monster's drop would grant us a flame based upgrade or absorbing a poisonous material would allow us to poison our blade.

In the anime this is taken to some great extremes with upgrades granting improvements to stuff like herb detection, medicine crafting and so on.
>>
>>3469810
LN basically just has it so they can tap it and you can turn your weapon into something you've copied at any time.

The other heroes just walk into shops and copy everything without saying a word about what they're doing.
>>
>>3469828
>>3469825
Well goddamn, let's get to it. Mass-copying everything around sounds like a great plan. We should definitely get back to the armory ASAP.

After seeing the shield hero punching like a madman, it gets your irish blood hot and bothered. Not in a sexual way but rather in a fightsexual kind of way. You are highly suspicious about him and already he's showing you up by fighting despite having little to no offense capabilities at the moment.

You stand directly out from the grass, calling the shield hero out like the raging Spear Hero you are.

"If it isn't the jackass who threaten me back at the castle? What> You want some of this too! Or did you come to make fun of me for fighting like this! Well screw you! I will survive and do whatever I can to make it through the waves Even scramble in the mud like this!"

It would completely admirable to you....if you weren't so pissed off by that line. You are completely settled on kicking his ass..but in a fair fight. So unexpectedly...you dispel your heavenly spear and got into a fisticuffs pose.

"Are you making fun of me! Think the shield hero is too weak that you don't even need your weapon to fight me?! IS THAT IT!"

You befuddle Nickolas's claim. Saying that all you want is to hear him out. But only after you have a one to one fight, no weapons, no cheat, just fists. One could be lead to believe that this might be a different kind of story given how this is turning out. As the two of you get into position, the rain starts to poor.

Nick is at level 2 while you are only at level 1. Yet you have the high ground as the unstoppable spear vs the immovable shield...ambit it's a fist fight but still!

What do you do
