In the last chapter, Zheng Li raises his friendship with Governor Han Fu and a certain Major Zhang He. The Imperial Han forces station themselves atop a hill and defends against hordes of Yellow Scarves. Leading a cavalry force, Zheng Li breaks the rebel ranks while Yang Jing and Hao Xian leads the rebels to an ambush. Guan Hai is captured and summarily executed.--------This quest is an RPG-styled game following the Three Kingdoms period of China and the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guangzhong. You play as a fictional character following through the events of the Three Kingdoms and hopefully rising to become an important player of with the famous figures. You will start off as a no-name, average character who can rise up through effort. Most of the characters and story will follow the events of the novel first, history second, the RoTK games third, and only a very small part will come from the Dynasty Warriors games (Mostly character personalities if suitable). The goal of the game is to create an interesting story more so than win. While this game will not be harsh, mistakes and carelessness may result in the loss of your faction and even the death of your character. Sometimes circumstances may be unfair as not even Zhuge Liang could not save his kingdom after Shu lost Jing province. Still, thinking and common sense should get you through. Whatever the case, my goal is to hopefully see you create an interesting story more than conquering the entirety of China. -------Character info: http://pastebin.com/yDvYKdAkMarket: http://pastebin.com/YwtG4Bjmtwitter: https://twitter.com/RainsArpeggioLast thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/266966/
After the repulsion of the Yellow Scarves, you give your men a day of rest. You, Hao Xian, and Yang Jing have all accomplished great deeds in the battle and you hear that the Han soldiers have found a newfound respect for you. On the noon of the next day you are summoned to a meeting with Lu Zhi and Han Fu. Lu Zhi congratulates you on a job well done and on killing the enemy general Guan Hai with a hearty shake of your hands.“Guan Hai was said to be one of the best warriors,” Lu Zhi says with a nod. “Previously he slew a number of our officers and captains. With Guan Hai gone, as well as the Yellow Scarves repulsed with heavy casualties, I believe now is the time to move out against the revels.” Lu Zhi points at a position in the map and explains that the Yellow Scarves have retreated and have stationed themselves there. To their right flank is a light forest and Lu Zhi explains he intends to make use of that.“The enemy is exhausted from marching to us and their morale is at an all-time low from their loss. Their camp is lightly guarded and they have hardly put up any barricades besides some wooden palisades. Tonight I want a party to raid the enemy camp using the forests as cover. Once the enemy is in disarray, the main force will attack from the front and drive all the attention to the forefront. Another division of troops will then attack from the left flank and push back the enemy. We will then achieve victory and drive away the Yellow Scarves from Ji province.”Han Fu looks a bit unconvinced and worried.“Are you certain General Lu? The enemy still outnumber us and I think we may want to hold defenses for our allies to arrive instead…”“If we are to wait here then we will never defeat the rebels. The Yellow Scarves are like weeds; to allow them to grow and spread will only make things worse for our lands. We must root them out as quickly as possible.”What do you make of this plan? You hold the option to volunteer yourself on one of the tasks, or perhaps you disagree with Lu Zhi?>volunteer for the main force>volunteer for the flanking division>volunteer for the raiding party>disagree with Lu Zhi and hold on to defenses as Han Fu says
>>318717>>volunteer for the flanking division

>>318788Lots of good quests here. Very narrow minded to just come here for one quest. Your choice.

"I am in agreement with General Lu Zhi," you say looking at Han Fu. "The rebels only grow stronger every day. More and more flock to their banners and if we do not show the people that the governmental forces cannot prevail against them, we will only prolong the war."Han Fu nods and relents as you seem to be in agreement as well."General, let me volunteer for the flanking force," you say turning to Lu Zhi. "I will make certain we push past their defenses and we take the camp.""Certainly," Lu Zhi says with a nod. "I think the Dawn Tigers will do best charging from the sides. I shall lead the main force at the forefront then.""Recently, a major under my command has done commendable service," Han Fu says. "He slew several Yellow captains in the last battle and bravely fought at the vanguard line of defense. I have raised him to a colonel and I believe he can lead the raid.""Very well then," Lu Zhi says with a nod. "The raid will begin at midnight. When the raiding party enters the enemy camp, they will sound the alarms and make great noise. I shall then lead the main bulk of our force and attack the front. When the enemy defenses have concentrated to the front, Sir Zheng shall then attack from the left flank."And with the command given by Lu Zhi, you set out to do your tasks. When night falls the Han forces move out. Several fake straw soldiers are placed around the camp while the fires are lit brightly to deceive the enemy. You lead out your forces and travel westward through several hills and covertly travel to the flank of the enemy camp. You hold your forces besides a lofty ridge and await the signal for the attack. How do you array your forces to attack?>select who leads the vanguard>select who leads the bowmen in support of fire>select who leads the cavalry to charge in once the defenses are down
>>318820Yang Jing for Vanguard. Hai Xian leads the bowman. We lead the charge.

Yang Jing, being the bulky warrior, is given command of the vanguard. You order Hao Xian to lead the bowmen in support while you command the three hundred horsemen. You array your troops in an orderly formation as you await the signal to attack.Your men lay restless behind the ridge for an hour amidst the sound of crickets. All seems quiet and the dark night is only illuminated by some torches in the enemy camp on the distance. Suddenly, sounds of gongs rise through the air. In a minute you hear shouts and confusion on the enemy camp. You do your best to look at the ongoing action. You see a figure on horseback, Zhang He, leading an elite force through the enemy camp. He torches several tents and slays unsuspecting soldiers. Then you hear great shouts and at the enemy front a large bulk of Han troops surge forward. The enemy scramble to put up their defenses and you see a number of troops heading to defend the front. Zhang He makes it difficult for the enemy to organize themselves."Sir, do we give the order to attack now?" a soldier under your command asks. "It seems the enemy is in confusion and we should not waste this opportunity.">attack now amidst the confusion>hold until more rebels divert towards Lu Zhi
Hey guys. I think we should recruit Sun Ce

>>318906I prefer the LU BU appraoch since it gives the most freedom, and a smarter Lu Bu is the best leader.Imagine how different shit would've gone if players were smart enough to use tactics instead of going full LU BU and losing the capital
>>318919To be honest, I really was glad we lost the capital. We would have had a whole fucking heap of shit to deal with considering everyone would be gunning for the Emperor and us.Losing it all and forming Wu Bu gave us the best chance at surviving the Cao Cao.

>>318929See, I would absolutely fucking LOVE to go Wu Bu, But I'd have to hope the new anons didn't play/read the old one or they'd whine about retreading old ground. Hell, maybe we could go Shu Bu instead.
>>318929Legit Lu Bu would have been fun. The strongest guard dog with the weakest leader.A pity but thats the way the dice falls.
>>318938Honestly with this one I think we should just let things happen as they happen rather than try to "force" anything. It's kinda what happpened with the last one so if we get a chance in-character to learn of Zhang Liao and Lu Bu, yeah, hang out with them. But as it is we're just some dudes trying to expand our clan.
>>318938No fuck Shu with a diseased and rotting cock. Go Wei at least.
>>318946Well IC we can go enlist with the imperial army and be loyalists, since that's somewhat IC
>>318949We have four years until anything interesting happens like that though. I think we'd want to do something cool. Maybe hang out with Sun Jian as he puts down rebellions across the nation?
>>318952If we're going somewhere different, lets go under Cao Cao's banner
>>318948Shu as in location, not character dude. Nobodies trying to BENEVOLENCE up in here>>318952I wouldn't mind broing it up with Sun Jian, but I'm not a fan of playing second fiddle to Ce or Quan and living in their shadow
>>318958Well we were already playing second fiddle to Lu Bu in the last one.Although, considering we were banging his daughter either us or our kid would probably have been the next one to take over the Lu Bu faction FUCK I wish that quest hadn't just dropped.
Let us serve best leader.
>>318964I dunno, I felt more like we were our own guy because Lu Bu didn't have Maxed out goddamn charisma to get peasants sucking his dick like Ce doesIf we head south early we can cut off BENEVOLENCE, and get thsoe areas for ourself. Welp we just lost Yang Jing or Hao Xian.
Honestly, I kinda want to just make our own side instead of joining any established ones
You raise your sword in the air and give the command to attack. Yang Jing moves his infantry forward, shields upright with Hao Xian quickly following behind with bowmen. Your attack may have been too soon. Lu Zhi's strategy was to draw the enemy to him while you easily take the flank and then the enemy camp. While the enemy is confused, it is only a matter of time before they realize the attacks and begin organizing their forces.Still, Yang Jing and the men under him bravely lead the attack against the enemy barricades. As Yellow rebels begin going up the palisades, Hao Xian orders his bowmen to pick them off and support his ally. Rebels begin concentrating both their defenses on the flank and at the front. Despite the bravery of your men, it seems you are suffering some casualties. Yang Jing leads a group of men and is beginning to hack away at a part of the enemy barricade and might just break through.A soldier comes running up to you."Sir, we have lost several hundred men! I am uncertain if we can break through!"What do you do? Despite the casualties it may be more unfavorable if you let go of your attack now.
>>319022We're already committed. If we back off now, we took losses for no gain.
>>319022>continue the attack>retreat your men
>>319022Keep the attack going.
>>319022We must break through.Continue the attack.
>>319022>>319026>continue the attack
>>319026>>continue the attack
You angrily look at the soldier, and planting a sword on the ground, you point towards the enemy camp."Redouble your efforts and break through those barriers. Any man who retreats from this sword shall be put under the military law. The Imperial forces at the front are laying down their lives for this attack, how can we the Dawn Tigers retreat only for a setback? Go, back to the front lines and destroy the rebels!""Sir!" the soldier shouts and quickly goes back to the front. You rouse your men to fight harder.Though the battle is fierce and you lose more men, your order to commit to the attack pulls off. Yang Jing manages to destroy a part of the enemy wooden barricades. With his axe in the air he gives a great shout."Those demons who are not afraid to die, follow me in! The rest of you scurry away! I have no need for women in the Dawn Tigers!"The soldiers under Yang Jing's command shout and charge in. They begin putting rebels to the sword and driving away the enemy. You hear that the Imperial forces have also begun to break the enemy defenses at the front of the enemy camp. The time comes for yourself to commit to the attack. You charge in with your cavalry through the broken enemy defenses. The enemy rebels, already confused and beginning to lose morale, scatter at your horsemen. You kill several enemy rebels and the flank of the camp is taken. You see Zhang He at the middle of the camp inflicting several more casualties while Lu Zhi is almost breaking through the front. What do you do?>meet with Zhang He and take the center of the enemy camp>aid Lu Zhi in breaking through the front
>>319066>>meet with Zhang He and take the center of the enemy campI want friend points!

>>319066>>meet with Zhang He and take the center of the enemy campHe's the most exposed and in danger. Aid him.Direct Yang Jing infantry to move towards and in support of Lu Zhi.
>>318893>>318894I was surprised we didn't get the Wind Bow when we had the chance because of the Window Boy joke from the old quest.
>>319102matter of time
>>319102We haven't bought anything yet, have we? Hmm I'm thinking we should get General Armor first the second we have the chance.
>>319112The banner was bought I think. Though better armour when we fail die rolls is an excellent idea.
>>319118Well it isn't listed in the character sheet.
You decide taking the central command of the camp is more important and that Lu Zhi can break through himself. You charge with your men to take the enemy center and to meetup with Zhang He.Your forces easily kill scattered and confused remnants of the Yellow rebels. As you hack your way through, you see Zhang He charging against an enemy general. Spear firmly placed in front, Zhang He pierces the enemy through the heart. You ride next to Zhang He and find that it is the enemy general Bian Xi. "Sir Zheng Li? Good to see you," Zhang He says with a smile. "I am afraid I have obtained more glory than you and the merits shall go to me.""The battle is not won yet, Sir," you reply. "There is more than enough time for myself to outdo you."Your forces and Zhang He begin mopping up more of the rebels. You see that Lu Zhi has broken through the front and is charging forward. Rebels are beginning to flee. You find a group of rebels trying to flee and an enemy general. You recognize Pei Yuan Shao, the man previously bested by Hao Xian. He grimaces when he encounters to you."W-we will surrender," the man replies, seeing the situation hopelessly lost. "But only if you ensure our safety and our lives," he says with a shaking hand on his sword. >kill him>agree and accept their surrender
>>319128>>agree and accept their surrenderHowever, we will bring him before the Imperial Court to account for himself.

>>319128>kill himLike I said. If you accept surrenders at this stage in a fight you get a reputation as a guy who will let his opponents bleed his forces dry while still having a way out.
>>319128>>319140Changing to >Kill himPreviously when we first met Zheng He, he was executing the rebels.Lets not u-turn on policy like this.
C-can we waifu Sun Shangxiang? (who is probably a trap)
>>319204Eh. I'm not sure other anons will go for it but I'm still aboard the Lu Lingqi hype train
>>319204If it's reasonable sure. But Zhen Ji is superior and in the north where we are.
"The only surrender I will accept is your head!" you yell back in response. You order your men to kill the rebels. Pei Yuan Shao is killed through a hail of spears and dies with a yelp. The rebels begin fleeing on mass. Your forces and the Imperial troops begin pursuing and a great many rebels are killed. Just as a few thousand rebels flee from you and begin to distance themselves from you, the sound of horns and drums is heard in the long distance. A thousand soldiers at the direction from where the enemy is fleeing begins attacking the rebel forces. Attacked from both sides, the rebel forces are utterly crushed. Many of the enemies are put to the sword and great many surrender. You see from afar that the new force that has arrived is heading towards you, weapons not drawn and coming in peace. What do you do?>go and meet the new army with Lu Zhi and Han Fu>ignore the new troops and check on the Dawn Tigers instead
>>319240>>go and meet the new army with Lu Zhi and Han FuHave Hao look after the troops.

>>319240>>go and meet the new army with Lu Zhi and Han FuDon't want to be late, ancient chines etiquette and all that
>>319240>go and meet the new army with Lu Zhi and Han Fu
Giving the task of reorganizing the troops and taking care of the wounded to Hao Xian, you ride forward to meet with the newly arrived reinforcements. As you ride forward, the new troops stop in the tracks and three men come forward."Who is it that I am speaking with, and do you come as allies as I seem to see?"You look at the three men. One, a handsome man with long ears and a short beard. Another, a red-faced man with phoenix-like eyebrows and a large beard that goes down to his waist. And another beady-eyed man who is large and has tigerlike whiskers. The handsome man comes forward and bows."Yes, we come as allies to the governmental forces. We bear no ill and we consent to any searches or questions," he says respectfully."There is no need," a voice says coming from behind. Lu Zhi comes besides you and with a smile, he goes forward to embrace the man. They speak familiarly for a few minutes before Lu Zhi turns to you."This is Liu Bei," Lu Zhi says introducing him. "Back when he was a young boy I tutored him. He has always been a bright individual and I always foresaw that he was destined for greatness. How fortuitous that he comes now and has aided us in repelling the rebels.""The merits of this battle goes to the Imperial forces," Liu Bei replies humbly. "And of course Sir Zheng Li. I saw that he broke through the enemy's flank. I have also heard that he leads a group of volunteer soldiers," Liu Bei says with a smile. "For the past year I have been fighting rebels with volunteers of my own. Those that wish to see the land restored back to peace. We have much in common, Sire," Liu Bei says once again bowing to you.The man seems incredibly amicable. How do you reply to him?>keep things professional and thank him>be friendly with the man and share your experiences >make your relationship brief and to the point
>>319328>>be friendly with the man and share your experiencesAllies to restore peace in this time of turmoil are always appreciated.
>>319328>>be friendly with the man and share your experiencesBe friendly and all, but I'm not really into going full BENEVOLENCE
>>319328>>be friendly with the man and share your experiencesLu Zhi is praising him let's be nice even if he is worse than Lu Bu.
>>319328>>be friendly with the man and share your experienceslet's not let meta reasons make us hate him. In character Liu Bei would seem cool right now
>>319328>be friendly with the man and share your experiences
The both of you have started similarly, and so you cannot help but relating to Liu Bei. "The land is in great turmoil and bandits run amok the land. Rebel forces pretend justice while massacring the innocent. In these chaotic times I am glad to see there is another individual who would share the same insight," you reply to Liu Bei. "Tell me of your doings so far."The army of Liu begins trickling in the occupied camp. Lu Zhi and Han Fu leave you and Liu Bei to discuss matters as troops are reorganized and supplies are taken in to account."I met two great men when I raised my troops," Liu Bei begins. "They are Guan Yu and Zhang Fei," he says pointing to the long-bearded man who is calmly overseeing his troops and the tiger whiskers who is boasting of the victory. "We three have sword an oath of brotherhood. Raising a few hundred troops and going under the command of Governor Liu Yan we defeated the rebels at the northern frontier. When I heard of my old mentor in need of help, we immediately came here to aid your forces in routing the rebels. I am glad to see that I came in time, though it troubles me that I could not come sooner."You both share your experiences with one another. Liu Bei hears of what the bandits you routed, the unjust way you were forced out of your home, the way you helped Tao Qian, and how you have now aided the Imperial troops in driving back the rebels. Liu Bei seems vastly impressed and bows to you."To defeat rebels that harm the people, and to aid those in need. I have only defeated some rebel armies and I must say that though we share similar beginnings, you are by far the better man," Liu Bei says with a smile. You find Liu Bei to be very humble, well-spoken, and a man who shares your passion for helping the people. You talk a bit longer with Liu Bei and find yourself already familiar with one another. You bid each other farewell once your armies have entered camp. You check up on your army. You find that Yang Jing has been slightly wounded, though it is minor and will heal quickly. Hao Xian accounts that you have lost 500 men, nearly half your force. It is quite unfortunate but you make certain that their bodies are returned home and their families rewarded with gold for their service. You hear that the Imperial troops have lost a thousand or so.(Lead +1, War +1)
>>319477(Cha and Pol +1 as well)The next day you are rewarded by Lu Zhi for a job well done. Zhang He is given the most merit, with you following next, and then Liu Bei for leading the reinforcements. You are given 200 taels of gold, a hefty amount for one person. You may perhaps wish to buy yourself some items or keep it in reserves for your army. You are told that the army shall rest here now for a few months until Generals Huangfu Song and Zhu Jun are done with their campaigns. Once they are finished, they will arrive at your location and a final offensive shall begin. What do you for the next few months? You can focus on recruiting more troops, be it through asking for volunteers or using your gold to attract prospectors. You may wish to study instead. Or make more friendships with the other lords? The choice is yours on what to improve on and you may choose as many actions as you wish, though not focusing on a smaller amount of tasks will result in less rewards.>choose action(s) to work on

About 20 more min, sorry. Line was incredibly long for some tacos.
You reward yourself with an ornate armor from the markets. It offers some protection from enemy blades and arrows while giving yourself the bearings of a leader. (-300 gold, 50 remaining). With the casualties form the last battle having a lasting effect on your forces, you decide to focus on recruiting more men to your cause. You again ask for volunteers to fight against bandits and rebels while spreading word of the deeds the Dawn Tigers accomplished. A thousand fresh recruits join the Dawn Tigers. You also spend some spare time visiting Han Fu and Zhang He. Han Fu is a meek but easily pleased man and your visits to him are appreciated. You believe Han Fu would be willing to listen to any of your requests as long as it is suitable and he would likely have no qualms giving you a rank should you serve him (Han Fu relationship: amicable). You visit Zhang He as well. Though you initially thought he may be a a soldier fixated on order and military, you find that Zhang He is an artistic and scholarly man as well. He reads from time to time and his room is always kept neat with several paintings and the like. You notice his clothes are also cleaned every day and for a warrior he dresses rather well beneath his armor. One picture is that of a woman and when you inquire about it, he explains to you: "At times we men of war may lose ourselves in the heat of battle. We see blood, limbs cut off, and the smell of death follows us. Though we are warrior and live on the battlefield, we must remind ourselves that we are humans. We are not vicious animals just for slaughter. The painting is to remind me of my humanity as well as the beauty of women."You talk about sparring at one point with Zhang He, and he agrees to it. A number of Han troops show up to watch when they hear you and Zhang He are going to spar and they begin shouting and taking bets on who will win. Most bets seem to be on Zhang He who has been with the Imperial troops longer tan you have and whose skill is already known. You battle Zhang He with a dull sword, while Zhang He battles with a spear dud. Zhang He is a cautious and calm fighter unlike the previous bandit and Zang Ba you have fought. Despite the difference you find it much easier to fight against Zhang He as you parry his blows and strike back against him. You get various hits on his shoulders and chest, while he only manages to hit you back half as much. While Zhang He is a calculating fighter, you seem to one step above him as you do you dodge his attacks and strike at his weak points.Still, Zhang He is not down for the count. Despite you having gotten the better of him, he remains calm for the next round of attacks.Strike (10) vs Swing (Zhang He -10 HP)Swing (88) vs Swing (Zheng Li: -12 HP, Zhang He: -14 HP)Parry (22) vs Strike (Zhang He: -11 HP)Parry (26) vs Strike (Zhang He: -11 HP)Strike (39) vs Parry (Zheng Li: -15 HP)Zheng Li: 73 HP Zhange He: 54 HP5 more rounds.

Zhang He stays on the defensive and taunts you to attack. Though you remain cautious, you move forward to attack him. He deflects your blow and manages to hit your squarely on the side with the side of his spear. It seems Zhang He has learned your attacks and he is quickly countering your moves. You change up your attacks to try and stay unpredictable, but even so Zhang He manages to counter a number of your blows. At the last moment he moves in to finish you off with a sweeping blow to the head, but you manage to duck at the last second and you make a strike against his chest. The both of you are quit tired after an exhausting exchange and you both call it quits there. It is hard to tell who exactly won, but you and Zhang He exchange friendly bows."I have yet to meet someone who could fight me equally," Zhang He replies. "I think I may had the better of you if I landed that last attack. Well done I must say.""It was only a matter of luck. You are still much stronger than I," you humbly reply back to Zhang He.The crowd begins to argue who won and no one is certain. Considering Zhang He's experience and the fact that he is of better physique than you, you consider it a victory in your mind.(relationship with Zhang He: Friendly)Strike (17) vs Sweep (Zhang He: -10 HP)Strike (9) vs Parry (Zheng Li: -17 HP)Strike (27) vs Strike (Zheng Li: -16 HP, Zhang He: -11 HP)Parry (5) vs Strike (Zhang He: -9 HP)Strike (24) vs Parry (Zheng Li: -16 HP)Zheng Li: 24 HPZhang He: 23 HPStrike (17) vs Sweep (Zhang He: -10 HP)Strike (9) vs Parry (Zheng Li: -17 HP)Strike (27) vs Parry (Zheng Li: -16 HP)Parry (5) vs Strike (Zhang He: -9 HP)Strike (54) vs Sweep (Zhang He: -12 HP)Zheng Li: 24 HPZhang He: 23 HP
>>319863You hear news that Huangfu Song and Zhu Jun have respectively defeated the head generals, Zhang Liang and Zhang Bao who has retreated back northwards. All according to plan, you hear that Generals Huangfu and Zhu are heading their troops in your direction. News and fame of other men begin to reach your ears. You hear about a certain cavalry general named Cao Cao who has defeated several thousands of Yellow Scarf rebels around the capital and has accomplish meritous deeds. You hear about a man named Sun Jian who aided Zhu Jun and in one siege of a city, he stormed the walls with his men at the front and slew thirty men before opening the gates. Elsewhere in the eastern Liang region you hear about a general named Dong Zhuo fared much worse; winning a few battles against the Yellow Scarves while losing some battles.Regardless, you prepare your troops for the upcoming final offensive. However, before Generals Huangfu and Zhu can arrive, you hear that an official from the capital has arrived. He comes to your tent.“Hmmm… The Dawn Tigers is it?” the man says entering your domain with a stroke of his beard. “A bunch of volunteer soldiers. More like a man looking to gain power with pawns,” the official says with a smile. For a few seconds you blink, unable to respond to such an accusation and receiving such disrespect.“You are Zheng Li?” the man replies. “Word of your deeds have been sent to me on a report by Lu Zhi. It seems you have been working hard. I could speak of your deeds to the court and you may receive households and land for your accomplishments. But I wonder if I should sing praises of a brazen man who has gathered soldiers without an official governmental sanction? Tell me Zheng Li, could you kindly tell me which? A gift to help me decide may suffice.”You slightly boil in rage. This official is asking for a bribe. And he is threatening you no less.>refuse politely>refuse and kick the man out>give the man your 50 gold as a bribe
>>319865>>refuse politelyUnfortunately the only money I have I am keeping in reserve to arm my troops. If I had spare money, I'd give it to you.
>>319865>>refuse politelyWere doing this to help the people. Anything we have is to help our men do that job.
>>319865>>give the man your 50 gold as a bribeI mean, why not? It'll do us well to be on the good side of bureaucrats and have friends at court, we'll be able to gain some loot soon enough.
>>319871>Were doing this to help the peopleWe're doing this to gain glory and power for our clan, helping the people happens to coincide with that goal.
>>319873>>319876>wanting your clan to prosper>By being known as a slave to the Eunuchs controlling courtYeah, nah.
>>319878>greasing some bureaucrats palms>their slaveGet a hold of yourself commie
Though it is infuriating, you calm yourself down and you respond politely back to the official."The Dawn Tigers are a volunteer force here only to serve the Han. We do not hold any further desire than to see the rebels repelled. I am afraid I do not have any gifts for you Sir, we are but a poor force and we only get our resources and funding from the Imperial troops."The official scowls at you. He looks at your armor."Oh? And I suppose you managed to gain that piece of ware by sheer luck?""You are quite observant, that is so," you respond back. "I found the armor from a Yellow Scarf that likely stole it from the coffers of the territory they have seized. General Lu Zhi should have sent the head of an enemy General Guan Hai in that regard to the capital."The official looks at you with contempt. A few seconds of thought, likely deciding whether to punish you or not, and he leaves muttering a few curses.
On the eve, Hao Xian comes rushing in to your room. You ask him what the fuss is about, and he responds to you bitterly.“General Lu Zhi has been put in prison,” he says. “The official that came to your room has taken Lu Zhi in to custody and is now transferring him to the capital.”“What!?”You immediately go out to find Lu Zhi. You find a large commotion at the middle of Lu Zhi’s camp. Lu Zhi has been placed inside a rolling cage and the soldiers are looking mortified at the sight.“We have found Lu Zhi to be a man of treason,” a familiar voice says. The official from before. “We found that he was in collaboration with some of the rebels. He has taken bribes from the enemy. We ordered Lu Zhi to march against the rebels and he refused. Speaking to his servant we found that is it because he accepted gold from the enemy rebels.”How do you respond?>angrily state Lu Zhi would never do such a thing>stay silent, there is nothing you can do

>>319925I know but still bitching. Wouldn't be me if I didn't.
>>319925What was the last Three Kingdoms quest and was it any good?
>>319931It was fucking awesome. QM just dropped it though in the middle of the fucking upswing for our forces so don't read it. Super unsatisfying. We got the girl.We bro'd it up with Lu Bu.We had a bunch of Wu.WE had Zhang Liao, Gao Shun, Tai Chitsi (?), Zhou Tai, Gan Ning with fucking Chen Gong as our advisor. We had a super climactic duel with Sun Ce.There were memes, faggotry. It was a great quest.
>>319931Decent but the QM Raian bitched out after a lot of bullshit. Read it though.
>>319934Taishi Chi mate. But he should read it for things not to do in quest yeah?
>>319939Honestly though, I think some amount of faggotry is FUN in popular quests.People bitch hard about the Anti Ce/Pro Ce shit but I enjoyed the ever loving fuck of all that shit.
>>319934>>319940Best part was it ended RIGHT as we finally killed Sun Ce, and the QM confirmed that had we tried to recruit him there'd have been no fucking downside, after 8 threads of shitstorms.
>>319940It got outta hand at points though. You have to say that. I meant more not charge up a hill with exhausted forces against a prepared enemy who outnumbers us yeah?
You move towards the official and the and Lu Zhu, pushing some of the soldiers aside. You look at the official angrily."This is preposterous!" you say out loud. "For the past year General Lu Zhi has been defeating rebels. He defeated the Generals Bian Xi and Pei Yuan Shao, pushing back tens of thousands of Yellow Scarf rebels. How can you accuse a just servant of the Han of such treason?"The official looks at you with a sneer. A number of his guards move in front of him, their hands placed on the hilt of their swords. The official responds back cooly."It seems Lu Zhi killed rebels when it benefited him. He did it to achieve rank and rewards, and when the rebels gave him a better offer, he ceased all activities. Who are you, a minor bumpkin to question the authority of the Han? Are you perhaps in league with him?""The Heavens will punish the true evil at the end!" you say with anger. "I will remember that," the official says with a scoff. He leaves with his guards in tow and Lu Zhi in the cage.As they depart the soldiers all begin to murmur. None of them believe the accusations against Lu Zhi. You find Han Fu and Liu Bei at the sides. Han Fu shakes his head and says is remorse"All that official wanted was some money. General Lu should have just accepted. Why would he refuse!?" Han Fu says in despair."Governor Han Fu!" Liu Bei says coming forward. "Do not tell me you accepted the man's bribe?"Of course I did!" Han Fu says. "Did you not? And you?" he says looking at you. The silence of you and Liu Bei makes it obvious to him that both of you refused to bribe the official. Han Fu sighs. "Though the both of you may be safe, I am a Governor and General Lu also held a high-ranking position. For men like us, if we do not accept bribes we will be put down. Such is an example" Han Fu says."Would you do so at the price of your honor?" Liu Bei says chastising Han Fu. "General Lu Zhi may be going to prison, but history will remember him as a hero.""Or history will remember him as a traitor," Han Fu murmurs."Enough!" Zhang Fei steps out in front as Liu Bei and Han Fu argue. Anger bulges in his eyes and his whiskers flare. He grips firmly onto his pike."I will save General Lu Zhi. I will whip that official good. I will not allow this injustice to happen.""Stop!" Liu Bei says coming front to stop Zhang Fei. "The law must judge Lu Zhi and he must go through the trial. For his deeds he will certainly not suffer long. We cannot take action against the government or we are no better than the rebels."You think hard on the matter. You could possibly dress up as bandits and save Lu Zhi. There were only thirty or so guards in tow with the official. Should you free Lu Zhi at the risk of the government finding out?>agree with Liu Bei, do not do anything reckless>agree with Zhang Fei. disguise yourselves as brigands and free Lu Zhi
>>319944>>agree with Liu Bei, do not do anything reckless
>>319944>>agree with Liu Bei, do not do anything recklessI dunno what the old 3K quest would have said but I'll vote for this. There's always reasons to use Cha/Pol just as much as War. :D

you guys are too cautious. We should red wedding this shit, take out a large force of the Han and make it clear we will be carving out our own Kingdom.
>>319958I'm gonna push to get Zhang He on our side, and fuck off to somewhere else rad to build more and more of a name for ourselves.Remember, Zhang He is a cool dude, we need him on our side.>>319960I'll admit, I definitely want to make our own side. But to do that we'll need to gather enough forces to be relevant during Dong Zhuo's time period, and remember to not pursue Lu Bu, or even just get him on our side and make sure to fucking give him diao chans
>>319958Preferable. The man wouldn't be a bad guy to work for, and we're on good terms Zhang He. Though, I think it would be best to sign on with him rather than swear to him.>>319960Perhaps we should look to advance ourselves under the established channels, while making a name for ourselves defending the institution itself. Of course should things fall all to hell, we'll be in a good position to impose order and maintain the status quo under our own watchful eye.
>>319962Yes Zhang He is pretty good and was one of Wei's better Generals. If Sima Yi wasn't a dick and got him killed he'd probably have lived forever. And he's just so outlandish in the Dynasty Warriors games.
We should definitely try to get Zhang He to leave with us away from Han Fu.He accepts bribes. He's weak. Join the Dawn Tigers.
Though Lu Zhi is a good man and has treated you well, you do not think it worth the risks to free him. You also agree with Liu Bei in that you would be doing no better than the rebels if you attacked Imperial troops to free Lu Zhi. Even if Lu Zhi did not accept any bribes, surely he would not be mistreated harshly."I am in agreement with Sir Liu," you say with a shake of your head. "There are still Yellow Scarves that need to be dealt with. We cannot trouble ourselves with this matter and further divide ourselves. Generals Huangfu and Zhu will come to our position soon and we must prepare for the next campaign."Zhang Fei grunts, but hearing both you and his brother, he cannot help but relent. He sits flat on the ground angrily. You hear news that the other Imperial Han armies will be coming soon, and you prepare to meet them. -------------------Session 5 end.
