IT'SA YOU, GOBBLE.
Rotom’s name is a hard one. You reflect as you watch the energetic, buzzing Pokemon. The Rotom zooms from one spot to another, stopping randomly, inspecting every little thing. It seems to like to really investigate anything electronic, checking out the bags with pokedexes, or zooming between a surprised Hana’s legs to investigate the source of electricity it must be able to sense. What you know about Rotom is that despite it’s fear of being locked away, it likes to be mischievous. But it’s different from Belladonna. She seems to like getting one-up on others. Rotom seems to just enjoy goofing around as it’s focus instead. At least, that’s the initial impression you have.It stops in mid air in front of your face, curious. You guess you’ve been staring at it and not saying anything for awhile. A good name that comes to mind is...>Put it off for awhile longer. You still want to learn more about Rotom>Ghost Pepper>Carolina Reaper>Zest>Citrus>Zappy Jum>Render>Something else

>>3106836>Carolina Reaper>>3106840Rotom is a genderless Pokemon, but I'd probably shorten Ghost Pepper to just Pepper when talking to them.
>>3106871This week is my finals week, so been buried under those tests. Other than that been doing well. How about you, Gobble, how are you doing?
Rotom stays in place, but slowly rotates upside down as it stares back. It quickly loses interest and begins to very persistently carve doodles into the nearby log that was being used as a seat. There’s something about the shape, and more importantly, the attitude Rotom has, that just makes an association in your brain. You watch it slowly burn the wood, and it just clicks.“Ghost Pepper.” You say.Rotom turns around.“I want to call you Ghost Pepper.” You reiterate. “Maybe Pepper for short. How’s that sound?”It blinks.“It’s just, I’ve nicknamed all my Pokemon. It’s sort of a ritual at this point. Sort of a way to really welcome you to the team. Do you like it?”On hearing your explanation, Roto...Ghost Pepper looks excited. It zaps more artwork into the wood now. Two blobs that look vaguely like you and it.“Awesome! Glad to have you, Ghost Pepper.”Just beyond the newly named Rotom, you catch a glimpse of Polu and the psychic girl from last night emerging from the far off bushes. They quickly stop holding hands. Polu notices you noticing, and as she goes to her peers, he comes to you.>Don’t say anything about what you just saw>Give him a warning that Jane intends to train him>Fill him in on the beings. >>3106928How very non-gay of him.Suspiciously non-gay...
You give Polu a quick fistbump. Despite your attempts at being subtle, Jane notices. Nothing really gets by her.“Dude.” He whispers. “Oh man, if you noticed than everyone noticed.” He pauses. “Uh, no offense, bro.”Well, you can’t exactly say he’s entirely wrong. To your surprise, he seems almost as stressed as he is proud. “I don’t know what happened. We were just talking, then arguing, then...things happened!”“Arguing?”“Yeah. We got on the topic of religion, and well, I guess I was tired because I said a few things about what some people on Kontote believe and, uh...well, that’s complicated bro, but the point is, it went from friendly to passionate real quick. She was just all over me in a blink!”“Then what?”“Then it got a different sort of passionate.” He smiles, but looks down and ashamed at the same time. He’s both giddy and worried. “She didn’t break any vows, technically, but man, this is bad. What if her sisters find out?” He holds his head. “What if the gang finds out? What did I drag her into?”Oh jeez. It crumbles your crisp to see him so stressed out after all the problems he’s been dealing with.>Sounds like she dragged herself>Relax. >>3107017>So...are you going to see her again?"All that matters if you two want to spend more time together and if you do then you should.
>>3107017>I think you’ll both be fine. Some gossip at worst.
>>3107030all those broken cows>>3107017>Sounds like she dragged herself>Keira was worried and if anyone would know the risks she would.>So...are you going to see her again?
“Keira was worried, and Keira was worried and if anyone would know the risks, she would.”“Risks about what, bro?”“Oh, uh, hugging people, and the potential for rumors.” You follow up. You hope he doesn’t get the wrong idea. Keira's a good friend, and probably wouldn’t appreciate it if you have anyone the impression you and her were doing something...like that. You catch her doing some very odd stretches over on the other side of the camp. She smiles at you, looks flustered, and falls over. You guess you distracted her.“Ah man.” He stresses again. “I keep doing this. I have no idea what I’m doing anymore. Life used to be so simple, bro.”“Polu, first take a breath. If she didn’t break any vows I doubt she or her sisters are going to freak over it. If they do? Then you’ll handle it. As for the gang, only if her, her sisters or you tell em. Instead of worrying over waves of the horizon, deal with the one under your board.”“Dude...” He looks at you like you just blew his world. “That’s a good line.”Well, you’re glad he thinks so. “All that matters if you two want to spend more time together and if you do then you should.” Here comes the big question. “So...are you going to see her again?”He leans in, glad you asked. “I want to, but I have no idea what she-” He pauses. You glance around and see her staring directly at him with glazed eyes. Polu blushes and smiles before he can contain it. “Yeah bro, I think I am.”“If you’re done discussing your romantic conquests, get up.” Jane commands, sounding especially annoyed. Polu flinches at how loud she said it. “We’ve got training to do.”“Training?” He asks, confused.“No rival of mine is going to let some punk keep his bandanna. It makes me look bad. So until you get it back, I’m not giving you a moment of rest.” Jeez. You thought maybe she might approach this with a little more tact.Polu doesn’t even look frustrated. In fact, his eyes water up just a little. “Really?”“Really.” She looks and sounds sympathetic for half a second before following up. “Now I need to see why you’re so bad at battling now. Time to battle.”He looks confused again. “Alright. But against who?”She pauses to think, then turns to you. “Do you want the honors?”That’s a good question. It’s been awhile since you and Polu had a battle. You have no idea what to expect. But...his confidence really does seem shot lately. You wonder if he’d want to battle you under those conditions.>Sure. A friendly battle with Polu sounds awesome!>Let’s get someone else and have a two vs two battle>Suggest she battle him>Recommend Laki, she’s a great battler too>Suggest Hana. >>3107110>Sure. A friendly battle with Polu sounds awesome!"To be honest, I could use some training as well."
“Sure!” You shoot up. “A friendly battle sounds great. To be honest, I could use some training as well.”Jane smirks. You aren’t sure if you want to know what she’s thinking. She suddenly claps her hands. “Then up up up! Battle time! I'm judging.”You and Polu scatter up. Your pokemon quickly gather up around you.“What sort of battle do you want, bro?” He smiles despite dodging Jane’s arms as she waves the two of you off your behinds. “Single battle? Nice and simple?”>Sounds good!>Let’s do doubles>Triple battle would be a good test of skill>I’ve always wanted to try a contest battle>Something else
“Sounds good.” You reply. You glance around for areas to battle. The camp itself is in a pretty tiny clearing and there’s not much room to battle. The surrounding woods are fairly think with large, interspersed trees and bushes that could make for good cover and limit visibility.“Awesome.” He grins, catching some hype. “How many pokemon? I’m good with one, or all four.”>One each>Two each>Three each>Four each>Something else
>>3107110Just catching up.Lewdbin of Polu and psychic girl, when?
“Let’s test all four of your pokemon!” You feel the infectious hype building.“Oh ho. So you think you’ll push me to use all four of mine automatically, huh?”“I didn’t mean it like that!” You quickly retract.“You should.” Jane comments. “Don’t lose your competitive spirit just because you two are close friends. I wouldn’t want you going easy on me.”Polu, and now the girls who have been gathering around to see the battle, all look at Jane. She just announced you were close friends.“What are you looking at me for!” She demands. “You keep stalling, I’ll take you both on myself and humiliate you in front of them.” She gestures to the girls with her threat. “Stop thinking and battle!”You and Polu quickly rush to a respectable distance.“Wait!” Jane says before you can even think about who to use first. “Make a bet.”“A bet?”She nods back at Polu. It’s now that you notice her Hitmonlee is out, mimicking her folded arms. “It’s a sign of your confidence as a trainer going into this battle. I want to know your mindset.” She explains.Polu looks to you and shrugs. He has no idea. He’s such an easy going guy that you know he’d be okay with almost anything.>Nah. No bets. “So, what are you betting?” Jane asks the both of you."Just a man's pride!" You announce with some forced confidence, trying to get yourself in the right mindset for your Pokemon. The psychic girls all burst into an eerie, synchronized giggle. You look back and see Keira, Laki, and Abigail all holding one back to varying degrees of effort and success. “Stop!” Laki tries to reprimand the others through her own snorting laughter. You look at your Pokemon, who have all gathered behind you to be ready to battle. You swear that if Mace had eyes, he’d be rolling them at the girls right now.“Ready?” Jane holds up a hand. You can only see half of her thanks to the scattered large trees. The overhead canopy makes it a little colder and darker here too. Those factors will effect the battle for sure.>Heck yeah!>Wait, let’s add a special rule (write-in)>Wait, let’s take a walk to find a new location>Something else

“Heck yeah!” You announce.“Alright!” Polu says, eager to get on with the battle, before his voice turns a little wounded. “It’ll be nice to battle for the right reasons.”Gardevoir swoons a little. You automatically look at the psychic girls and see one watching Polu keenly. You suppose she likes something about his current conflicted nature. Maybe there’s a bad-boy factor to it from her perspective. You have no idea.Polu reaches for a Pokeball, and tosses it up into the air. You better move fast if you want to have your pokemon on the field at the same time.>Wait a second. “Go Sorbet!”“Go Spiritomb!” Polu says at the same time. It’s pokeball opens just as Sorbet runs forward onto the battlefield.“Smart tactical move.” Jane comments on Polu’s choice. “We all know Herb lacks the ability to deal with Ghosts and Dark types, and there are high odds he’d start with Gobble in many cases. It’s his safe bet.”You feel a bit uncomfortable with Jane’s commentary. Is that true?Ah. No time. Polu is leaping to the offensive! He didn’t even call out a move, but his Spiritomb is doing something faster than Sorbet is likely to be able to outspeed. What move is that? It’s all swirly and making you yawn.>Powder Snow and dodge behind trees>Baby-Doll Eyes, try to affect it’s stats>Ice Shard, a quick hit!>Confuse Ray, confuse it!>Icy Wind, a damaging attack that lowers speed>Mist, protect your stats>Feint Attack, never misses, up close and personal>Hex, a nice Ghost move!>Aurora Beam, a good balance of power, range, and speed>Safeguard, quick as you can!>Blizzard, go for full power off the bat!>Swap pokemon>Something else

Sorbet begins to teeter and yawn. She’s falling asleep! “Hurry! Safeguard!”The adorable Ice type pokemon moves her arm with a lack of energy, and slumps forward, then back, then finally she settles onto all fours. She didn’t even get the move off. That was Hypnosis that Spiritomb just used! Already, Sorbet’s snowy, protective mist fades as she relaxes into her sleep.“Good speed!” Polu compliments his Spiritomb. “That could have gone either way.”Dang! This puts your team at a disadvantage right from the start. But that's alright. You just need to adapt, and fast. Then you're sure your pokemon will be able to show how great they are. It’s a shame you’re battling under this forest canopy, because that bright sunlight would prevent Belladonna from getting any status conditions, too.Maybe you could try to snap her out of it with the right words, but you’re not as close with her as some of the others, so that might not work. You’ve got to try to snap Sorbet out of it. She certainly trusts you a lot more these days.“Alright, Spiritomb! Get that Nasty Plot up and we’ll be riding that wave to victory.”Polu isn’t letting up. He’s commanding fast, but the slow Spiritomb is taking isn’t exactly fast. At least not compared to your pokemon.“Sorbet!” You begin, hopefully loud enough that she can hear you. If this works, it will be an important bonding part of your relationship. How you try to inspire her will say a lot.>Let know know how much she matters to you>Appeal to her competitiveness and pride. There’s no way other pokemon can expect you to just go to sleep quietly without a heck of a struggle!”Sorbet stirs and pushes, but ultimately stays asleep.Meanwhile. Spiritomb pumps itself up. Gobble is knocked back, but concentrates and finishes using Amnesia shortly after. He brushes himself off and stands tall, as if to taunt his opponent into trying that again now that he’s ready.“You’re running out of tricks.” Jane tells Polu.“Heh. Gobble’s always been a problem to face, but we have a perfect move for him, don’t we, Spiritomb?”The vicious ghost pokemon grins. “Curse.” Polu says. “Then we can just avoid him.”“Gobble! Metronome!” You say to the cheers of Abbigail. She likes the chaos, you suppose. She gets Hana in on it. Hana doesn’t really take the battles as seriously, so she’s not too worried about how it ends up as long as everyone has fun. Laki though, sees it as a competition to bring out the best in people and pokemon. Fun, sure, but also something to take seriously and always try your best in.Gobble finishes the little Metronome dance at about the same time he’s struck with a spectral nail that seems to hammer into him. He grunts, despite there being no immediate damage. The same thing happened to Spiritomb a second ago and it looks pretty damaged from it.Strong, loud, beating hail shoots through the leafy overhead canopy, pelting both Pokemon. The rays of sunlight flash through for only a second with each tiny little bullet of ice. The whizzing sounds are very distracting, almost tempting you to duck your head even from your safety away from it. It must be very disorienting out on the field where Gobble and Spiritomb are."Hail!" Keira excitedly shouts! She does love her snow.Spiritomb begins moving towards a big tree for cover. It’s Ring Target makes it possible to hit it with normal and fighting type attacks, but there’s something about the way it strokes it that makes you wonder what it could be planning.>Focus Punch that tree to splinters!>Last Resort should be usable by now. “Trick!” Polu commands with a mischievous grin.“Alright Gobble, good job. But come on back. Sorbet, you’re up!”You swap pokemon quickly, replacing Gobble with a snoozing Sorbet. The whizzing Hail seems to be part of her element. Her fine, white coat shimmers and puffs, making her form difficult to see clearly. Even so, from what you can tell, it looks like she might stir awake soon.At least, she looks disturbed when the scary looking Spiritomb rushes close to her to take her Nevermeltice and replace it with his Ring Target. Spiritomb quickly starts running away again.Polu waves a finger at you. “Pretty clever, bro. I keep thinking I have you, and you keep wiggling out of my traps.”“You can beat him!” The psychic girl yells out. She covers her mouth when she realizes how loud she was.Sorbet blinks and mumbles. It seems like she’ll be ready to make a move, but it’s not a given. She might not be fully awake.Spiritomb is hurrying away to cover. “Aurora Beam! Get it quick!”“Get into cover and use Ominous Wind!” Polu commands. “They might have Hail, but we’ve got a dark and spooky woods. It’s your element as much as hers.”As the Ghostly Pokemon tries to vanish through a tree, it’s struck in back. Spiritomb growls as it slips through the solid tree as if it were air. It wasn’t the best hit at all, but it was something.“Good shot, Sorbet!”Sorbet yawns and shakes off the sleep and some hail. That shaking just expands the icy cloud around it, creating a larger frosty area for a second. The cute little noise she makes draws a lot of reactions from the all girls watching.“That’s frickin’ adorable!” Abigail comments very loudly. Her voice tends to pierce through most noise.Sorbet is suddenly whipped back a bit as the the Ghostly wind strikes her, along with a series of cackles from the now-missing Spiritomb hides in the dark. There’s a brief crack in the laughter as a particularly hard bit of hail seems to pelt it, though. Sorbet shakes it off and looks around for it's attacker.Spiritomb must be feeling weak by now. But it’s also hiding somewhere in the heavy woods, and exploiting it’s ability to slip through solid material. You and Sorbet can’t quite see where it is. Although you do have a general idea of it’s rough location.>Powder Snow hits a wide area. Use that>Shoot Ice Shards from cover in it’s general direction>Use Blizzard in that general direction. Blizzard always hits in Hail. A brutal move to be sure.I feel like getting this off of Metronome really highlights Herb’s ability to adapt.
“Sneak up and get it with Hypnosis again!"“Sorbet! Attack with Blizzard!” You counter.Sorbet looks left and right, trying to look out for her opponent.“Just use it in that general direction” You instruct. “You have the power to take out that entire section. You don’t need to see him to hit him!”She seems to decide that you’re right, and leaps into a readied stance. She builds up the power to use Blizzard quickly. That’s when the Spiritomb rushes out in front of her with spiraling eyes. But rather than put her to sleep, that scares her into launch Blizzard right in his face! The crackling sound of the ice hits you before your eyes make sense of what happened. She froze him so hard and so quickly in a sudden blast of icy fury that it seemed more like an explosion than a typical Blizzard. Spiritomb’s spiraling, hypnotizing eyes are frozen along with the rest of it in a large, misshapen block. It's clearly out of the fight.“You can’t just rely on using the same status move.” Jane chides as Polu retrieves his pokemon. “Especially against a trainer like Herb whose too inconsistent to guess his strategy.“Polu poses triumphantly regardless, and points a finger-gun at her. “We’re just getting started, babe. All part of my style.”Instead of losing it at being called ‘babe’, Jane rolls her eyes with only a moderately annoyed look. “Losing is an odd style. And if you call me that again we’ll need Ghost priestesses you locate you instead of psychics”Polu grins playfully in response to her remark, and reaches for his next Pokeball. You caught just the quickest glance from him to the one girl he was with last night.Sorbet yawns. You suppose Spiritomb still affected her a little. From the way she shakes her head, your best guess is that as long as she can keep at least half her focus on staying awake, she should be fine. But the harder the move, the more likely she is to have trouble until she has a few seconds to really recover.“Let’s even up the score, Volcarona!”[I’m afraid I’m still a bit sickly and falling off. But don’t worry, we’ll be picking up tomorrow!]
>>3118229Sooooo Mace? Mace seems like good pic.
>>3118229Also thanks for running Hobble. Stay Frosty.
>>3118229>>3118232Mace should probably be our 'mon of choice, yeah. In addition to the type advantage, he also is likely better suited for taking on Pokemon able to fly than any other member of the party, except maybe Ghost Pepper. Also, thanks for writing Gobs!
>>3118229Thanks for running! Feel better soon!
I want to pin Volcarona too, but unlike Agron it probably has the right moves to hurt us anyways. I say gravity, then rock blast it down.I also want to say I think “Pepper” rolls off the tongue way way better than “Ghost Pepper”.
>>3118296That'll probably end up being their nickname, like how we call Belladonna, Bella.
>>3118296Wait no, we should start with Sandstorm. It’ll stop Mace from taking damage from hail, up his soecial defence, and activate his ability. It’ll also raise his echolocation if Daredevil taught me anything.Plus I really want to see what happens if you combo sandstorm with Gravity.
I thought Polu released his Larvesta? I bet there’s a good story there. Also, I really really want to train Mace to use that reverse-Gravity he used accidentally once. It will increase his areal mobility dramatically, and have a bunch of other uses too.
>>3116780>>3116782>>3116843>>3116868You also have to remember at the time jane, kiera and (still) val had had very little screentime, while hana had just had multiple threads dedicated to her leaving her with a very strong impression on everybody's mind, on top of her thirstiness giving the only "legit" lewbin during truth or dareWhile I maintain hana shouldn't have won, im glad laki got involved atleast and the quest is still top tier
>>3118334Overall I still think Laki is best girl. Jane had that sort of 'moment' that really did fit too.Hana is a sweet girl but she was thirsty af and I think she's mid tier at best.I would have loved a vicious weird Herb Laki Jane relationship. Like that'd've been one wild dysfunctional mess.
>>3118334>>3118709I disagree with your taste, anon. Hana is a great girl. Though if it was just one girl I'd have picked Laki, this is best timeline. Hana and Laki are best in life.
In case anyone didn't see on twitter. Gobble couldn't run since 4chan was down for maintenance. They said they could probably run Thursday or Friday.
>Miss a couple threads>Come back to see Keira about to get conqueredAs one of the couple of Keirafags we have, I'm really fucking excited for this.I do like our girls, but I feel that both Jane and Keira would have been better options if we could only choose one. Jane still needs to find her own place in Loanah's society, and Keira is the girl that can teach us the most about culture, religion and aura stuff, which are pretty fucking relevant to us and thematic to the whole quest. Also really fucking cute and fun to be around, which I love.
>>3119270Laki is pretty knowledgeable about the culture and religions of the islands as well. Also Keira has admitted that Herb is already better at aura stuff than her, but I'll admit she can help us explore auras because Keira has a unique outlook on aura stuff and she's really good at reading people.
if it came down to one girl I'd pick Hana every time, with Keira a close second. If i had my way it'd be Hana and Val, though, just for the dynamic.
I’ve been thinking about what we’ll say when we loop the group in.If we just say that we’re helping a ghost stop another ghost and if we mention who the ghosts are one might lash out, and to just trust us, we should probably be able to avoid her wrath.
>>3119628I'm incredibly glad you didn't get your way.

Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the the PTU system, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves and also may leave you open to an interrupt, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first.Pokemon and trainers are unique, and may have certain specializations, skills, or other things that the video-game mechanics might not allow. Some examples: That kung fu Bellsprout in the anime, that crystal Onix, or a Roggenrolla that can fly. Herb's perception skills, pokemon knowledge, context clues in general, and other things will hopefully come into play to avoid completely unfair, unforeseeable bullshit, but expect more bullshit from more advanced trainers.Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.Pokemon:Gobble (Munchlax)Mace (Roggenrola)Belladonna (Roserade)Dice (Feraligatr)Sorbet (Vulpix)Rotom (Rotom)Location: The woods just outside of Terichi, the city of nightlife!

“Let’s even up the score, Volcarona!”Volcarona casually floats left and right, warming up. As it does, you and almost everyone else notice Gardevoir wandering towards it, mesmerized.“Shining like the sun.” She says in a trance. ““Gardevoir.” Laki moves to intercept. “Come on, let them battle. Stay back.” But as Laki gets close, she’s stopped by a protective, psychic barrier. She thuds against it with some noise, but doesn’t seem hurt. Just surprised. Laki takes a few steps back to give her space while she considers what to do next, as well as if she wants to do something about the laughing Abigail.Gardevoir is still off to the side of the battle space you and Polu are using. You and Polu exchange a look, seeing what the other plans on doing. He looks to Jane, then to you, and the others, and puts his hand where his bandanna used to be. “Sorry bro. I can’t let Sorbet have the time to recover. I’ve learned my lesson about letting things grow out of my control before I take decisive action. Besides, we’re trainers. We can battle carefully even if surprises come up.” He looks up at his flaming pokemon. “Volcarona! Fire Spin!”Crud! He’ll almost definitely be able to use that before Sorbet can act. Volcarona has the speed advantage on Sorbet and polu took the initiative, but you’re closer and using a pokeball you already have in your hand “Sorbet, return! Go Mace!”Mace launches himself onto the arena with gusto. He doesn’t have the room or momentum to avoid the Fire Spin thanks to it’s rotating nature, but it doesn’t really hurt him that much. He won’t be able to leave the battle any time soon. The hail hits the spinning vortex of fire, producing a wide cloud of steam. Not enough to obscure your vision too much, but enough that it’s notable.Gardevoir watches the spinning fire with fascination for a moment before her gaze goes back to Volcarona. She takes a single, slow step forward.“Quick hands, bro!” Polu compliments. “But I’ve got a strategy for Mace all lined up. Volcarona, use Hurricane!”He’s not going to sacrifice his advantage in initiative. It’s almost certain that move will fire before Mace’s. But Mace looks determined all the same. His type of determination is different from the others. Sorbet has a wildness to her that she reflects in her posture, Dice is either ready to play or rip someone apart for hurting his friends, Belladonna is ready to dominate. Mace's readiness is closest to Gobbles, if anything. But while Gobble usually looks ready to box and trust whatever plan you have, Mace looks more mature. More like he's seen it all before but knows from experience to take his role seriously anyway. “Mace! Gravity!” You command as the Hurricane comes rushing forth. Mace gathers his focus to change the gravity high enough to bring down any flying pokemon, but he’s not as fast as that molten Bug pokemon. The Hurricane builds in size as it comes at him, somehow not being slowed by the woods. Mace is flung hard into a tree, making an imprint he seems stuck in. Then an empowered rope of flame from the Fire Spin getting fed all this wind follows into him. On top of that, the steam from the hail must be making the heat even worse for the poor Rock pokemon.“Mace! You cry out, only catching small glimpses of him and losing track of Gardevoir completely. The firestorm they’ve created is hot even from here. But the moisture from the steam keeps it from spreading over the woods, at least.“I saw something like this watching videos on Hana’, uh, moms.” The pride in his voice can’t be masked, even if he isn’t sure what to call the relationship between Hana, Kat, and Robin. His prideful smile drops as Volcarona does, too. Mace is still plenty conscious up in his indent in the tree, and pulled off Gravity after all! And hard, too! The flaming bug is surprised at being grounded and struggling to adjust. You can’t see Mace directly, but you know where he is and you’re pretty sure he’ll be able to hear you even with the roaring, boiling inferno. His hearing is fantastic, after all.At least, you really hope. You ponder your options for a second. “Alright Mace! Get in as close as you can and use Rock Blast!”Well, if Mace can’t hear you, you can at least take solace in the fact that Polu definitely can’t.Wait! He can hear you! A small, smoldering ball descents hard from the tree and works it’s way forward. A few seconds later, you see breaks in the flaming air around it as Mace fires a series of Rock Blasts at his opponent, further ahead.A lot of dirt explodes all around it, causing it to try to fly away and fail. It seems like Volcarona is only grazed for the most part, though. The bug pokemon retaliates with String Shot. Only a tiny strand at the end gets Dice, though. From the way it was aimed, you suspect that he was trying to do something with it, like keep Mace tethered to a spot or lead the fire to him. Instead, most of the String Shot ended up disconnected and being sucked into the vortex.Mace is close to his opponent now. Not quite in melee range, but he’s on their side of the battle area and can close the gap at a reasonable speed. You’ve completely lost track of Gardevoir, but you can see Abigail doing some strange big motions off to the side in the general direction that you last saw the Psychic pokemon. The best guess is that she’s interacting with her somehow. The hail is dying down, which means the steam will let up soon and you’ll get a better view. “Sandstorm!” You command, and Mace enacts. The Hail fades and the tornado of fire flickers out more and more and a strong whipping of sand picks both in its place and around the woods.Ah, there’s Gardevoir. You can easily see her now because the sand breaks against the protective shielding she’s put up. She’s actually pretty close, having followed towards the fire tornado. But whatever spell was over her is mostly gone now. She allows Abigail and Laki to dash out and pull her back.“Absorb!” You hear Polu command his Volcarona. It quickly pulls a green, glowing orb of energy from Mace. Despite the awkwardness of the move from the bug Pokemon that can’t balance under the weight of it’s own wings, it still looks decently effective. More than you’d expect for such a weak move in a Sandstorm, even if it’s a Grass type one. But Polu looks like he was expecting a lot more damage.Mace looks tired. Not too badly hurt, but just worn out. And Polu seems to know why, judging by the look on his face. Wait! The moisture from Hail! He steamed Mace! Mace got a full on sauna treatment!Oh, that’s crafty! But with Sandstorm and Mace’s control over his energy, the upper hand should still be yours. “Mace! Mud Slap and get out of there! Evade!”Mace throws up a thick layer of mud in Aggrons face and ducks away into the thick of the sandstorm. But Aggrons wide swipe with a Metal Claw manages to catch him, as well as turn a small branch he was near into splinters. Mace rolls out of control and onto the leafy forest floor before reversing the spin and righting himself. Aggron is already rushing forward looking to follow up with that attack. You’re worried, one thing giving a small sense of hope is the way Aggron looks around and blinks. As Mace starts with more evasive movements again, you can tell Aggron is having a hard time following“Finish it quick! Heavy Slam!”>Try to dodge and increase Gravity>Try to reverse gravity>More Mud Slap and evasion!>Stand your ground and Tri-Attack with everything you’ve got! What are we doing about Keira after this battle?
>>3125845Well we’re not boning her without our girls. And our girls will need to know why she’s changing her path in life, which means explaining the war of the dead gods. Which we’re doing for everyone at once.I’ll reiterate: if we don’t say who the ghosts are, maybe we can avoid their wrath?Besides, Keira should have time to stretch and declare her major change if need be. I really don’t think Herb needs people thinking he made Keira break her vows by seducing or tricking her or something. Also he has a penis which is uncomfortably big for most women.
I gotta work, but I reccomend using Dice and rain dance to make a big pool out of the crater.
You need a plan. A big plan.“Mace! Use Gravity in the opposite direction!”You can feel the eyes on you from the observers, but it’s not a concern right now. Mace is depending on you too much for you to feel self-conscious. As the huge pokemon throws it’s massive weight at poor little Mace. But as it reaches the apex, it loses all momentum. In fact, it’s slowly floating up. “Good job! Now let’s do Rocks Fall!”Mace rockets up.Polu doesn’t like the sound of that. “Aggron! Try to grab onto something!” Polu shouts, looking around for a way to counter your plan.Mace is a tiny dot up in the sky now. He’s going to put everything into this attack. You’re not sure if he’s doing it out of fear, trying to prove himself against a fully evolved Rock type, or because he’s worried he won’t have energy for anything else if this fails. Whatever the case, he’s coming down fast!Should you cheer him on? Give him more instructions to help his attack but commit further?>Cheer him on as loud as you can. Morale is sometimes more important than any advice>Don’t forget to reverse Gravity again!>Disorient Aggron with more mud before you land!>Use Iron Defense to be a harder projectile!>Something else

“Don’t forget to reverse gravity again!” You shout to Mace. “You can do it!”“Don’t let up Aggron! Spin and use Iron Tail!”Mace comes rocketing down at full speed, and suddenly Aggron hits the ground hard. That fall is followed up with a hard blow to the gut from the living meteor that is Mace. You loud banging sound of Rock on Metal would split your ears if not for the Sandstorm and woods.Mace bounces off the Aggron’s gut, triumphant in his heavy blow. As he comes down to land, the sweeping Iron tail comes whipping around, destroying the tree he’s near and sending splinters flying everywhere. That was very, very close!Mace looks tired, but Aggron is clearly hurt from that attack despite it’s monstrous defenses and typing.“Iron Head! Chase after him!”>Get into the sky and blast away with Tri Attack>Mud Slap and zoom around trees>Set up a second Rocks Fall, use whatever Mace has left>Meet Iron Head with Headbutt! “Mace! Mud Slap and evade! Don’t let up!”Mace tosses more mud in the face of his attacker before vanishing into the sandy winds. Aggron claws at it’s head to tr to wipe it away, but the sands cake it on pretty hard. More mud splatters over that in a thick cake. You hear a roar and see the huge Metal and Rock pokemon crash it’s head down on Mace as he tries to dodge.“Mace!” You cry out!As the huge opposing pokemon lifts it’s head and looks down at the Roggenrola, his smile fades. Mace slips out from where he got smashed into the group and dashes behind another rock.“How?” Polu asks incredulously. “All that mud.” Jane answers. “It gave him a reprieve. For now. Aggron's head was too slippery. But he won’t survive another one.”Well thanks a lot for pointing that out, Jane!Mace looks worn down, fairly hurt, and worried. But not demoralized. He hugs his back to a tree where Polu and Aggron can’t see him. Now that Aggron’s vision is so obstructed, you think the odds of him catching Mace again are pretty low. Still, he might get lucky or have a good planSandstorm won’t last much longer. It’s fading.“I’ll switch you out, Aggron.”Aggron roars back at Polu. It doesn’t want that. Polu hesitates over his pokemon’s feelings. Those Mud Slaps are wearing it down, though. You can see the effects on it. Every little bit against that Goliath is helping. On the other hand though, Mace isn't exactly in prime condition right now either. An unlucky move could easily result in a knockout from even a mild attack.>Wait for the right moment and Tackle it’s leg>More Mud Slaps hit and run! Wear Aggron down>Take the offensive again and use Tri-Attack>Now’s the time for Iron Defense>Let it “catch” Mace out in the open>Swap pokemon

“Mace! Use Tri-Attack, but avoid getting in his range.”Mace ducks out of cover, fires three beams in one at the huge Aggron, causing it to roar in frustration and stagger back a bit. It’s weakened quite a bit. Mace has been chipping away with a variety of attacks that have been wearing him down and frustrating him to no end.“Way to go Mace! We just need to keep this up!”Mace dashes away, taking advantage of his speed and fact that Aggron is slowly sinking into the ground thanks to the increased weight from Gravity. Mace can roll and move even under this strain, but Aggron is a sitting Psyduck!“Autotomize! Aggron!” Polu adapts. “We’ll deal with one problem at a time.”Aggron stops sinking into the ground and quickly hops out. It looks light and fast now. Very fast. Fast enough to catch Mace! And if he takes out Mace, he might steamroll the next pokemon with his speed and power after that!Mace looks pressed. Aggron isn’t in good condition at all, but one solid hit will be the end of Mace. The sandstorm dissipates."Woo! Don't stop now!" The psychic girl shouts over the concerned looks of her peers."You can do it, Mace!" Hana encourages.>Tackle it onto it’s back now that it’s lighter>Wait for it to charge, then Mud Slap and dodge>One more Tri-attack! Full Power>Rocket Headbutt! Rolled 91 (1d100)>>3126531AAAAAAAAA WHY IS POLU SO GOOD?
Rolled 72 (1d100)>>3126531
So we've used>Gobble>Mace>SorbetFrom what i'm gathering both Gobble and Sorbet are relatively ready healthy, as opposed to Polu's fighters who are all on the ropes.I say assuming this next round leads to a double KO, we can follow it up with Dice and sweep the rest of his team.
Polu takes the initiative, just like you wanted him to. “Finish it off with Double-Edge! Plow it down!”That’s a Normal type move, but still likely to hurt given the incredible power he has. Mace is worn down quite a bit, too.“Hold it.” You instruct Mace as the huge pokemon takes aim.Aggron begins to charge.“Hold it.” You repeat.Aggron’s speed isn’t great, but it’s faster than you’d expect and dodging between the trees with more agility than it should have.“Now! Mud Slap!”Mace starts by arcing it from facing the ground upwards, so there’s a nice wave of it for Aggron to slip on, and more flying up his body and face.“Now dodge!”But Mace can’t get out of the way in time. Aggron slips a bit but recovers at the last second and slams into Mace anyway. Mace bounces off of him, into a tree, then back against his chest as Aggron struggles smashes through a tree before stopping.Mace, despite all of his determination, skill, and grit, falls to the ground. And boy does he look frustrated about his body failing to keep up with his ambition. He wanted to beat Aggron, badly. But consciousness leaves him and he can’t continue. Mace goes limp.Aggron doesn’t look down on Mace at all. Well, literally he’s looking down, but there’s clearly a lot of respect for his smaller opponent. He bends down, lifts Mace, and holds him out for you to retrieve.Polu looks exceedingly proud. “Good sportsmanship, Aggron!”Aggron dismisses Polu’s words. He seems to have shown respect for his own reasons, and isn’t concerned over Polu’s approval of his conduct.“Thanks. And good job, Mace.” You tell his pokeball as you retrieve him. What a slogfest that match was. Mace did well to do as much as he did.Aggron wheezes. His indomitable defense and incredible power have kept him in the match, but he doesn’t have much left in him. Still, he wants to fight on and isn’t in bad enough condition for you to say anything yet. He tries to roar it off.You consider who to send next. Gobble and Sorbet have already been out onto the field, so if you choose someone else, that locks in your four pokemon for this battle.>Gobble>Sorbet>Dice>Belladonna>Ghost Pepper>Something else[That’s it for tonight. I’ll let you know if we can run tomorrow as early as I can. We should be good, but I want to make sure I get some last minute stuff done first and I don’t know how long it will take. >>3126635Poor Mace. He probably could have pulled it out if he didn’t have to fight through Volcarona first.I say we switch to>GobbleIt keeps us from having to lock in our fourth Pokémon before seeing who his fourth is, and we can finish off Aggron with a supereffective Surf attack. Because buoyancy isn’t affected by gravity, he’ll still be able to surf around pretty freely. Or, we could shoot for a focus punch and bet on him not knowing about our flinch training. Either way, after taking a Rocks Fall like that, he has to be hurting.
[We'll be running in about 2 hours!]
